Her stomach beginning to clench at the idea of not knowing what the Jotun—or whatever else was there—were doing at that moment was not something Donna was prepared to outwardly show. She stood up straighter, arms crossed.
"Thank you, Tom." She nodded sternly at him again. "Go back to the facilities. I want you and Kimura to keep an eye on any potential activity on the surface. If you see any movement into or out of the mines, report them to me immediately."
"We will, master," he said.
"Dismissed, then."
Tom bowed one more time before vanishing once more.
"I do not approve of the fact that my favorite quotes are too long for this character limit." - Me"I'm pretty sure you can only make wards against one type of thing at a time. So if ghosts can't get through it, then we probably can, unless there's a scout looking for all the different types of intruders to block." Adam put in, drawing on his limited experience with using his wards.
As the talk turned to transportation, Adam placed his Iphone on the table and searched for the price of renting a car. Turning to the others, he asked, "About a 100, 200 dollars to rent a car for a day here, but I reckon I can bring that to about 50. Only a four seater though. I have a debit card, so I can pay that, I just need to get back to the airport to rent the car. That is unless anyone has a car here?"
Adam took a long sip from his coffee, aware now that the small talk was ending.
If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to..."You could probably reach the mining town on foot from here." Munin chipped in after he finished off another eyeball. "Might take you a while - until the winter sun starts setting - but you'd save cash that way."

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Donna turned back to the table, looking in Adam's direction
"Yeah, well I'm kind of banking on the idea that you being a Scion means that you don't make weak wards like that in the first place."
Her gaze then went to the ravens. (She had a mental sigh of relief.) "Might take time, but also might be a slightly stealthier option. That being said, if someone does have a car…"
"I do not approve of the fact that my favorite quotes are too long for this character limit." - Me"If you want." Fenrick chimed in. "If we don't wanna take the time to walk, and wanna save our energy for when the big stuff happens, I can probably...ahem..." He cleared his throat. "Ya know, get us a pretty decent discount on a car, if you like. I can probably get a car from..." A pause. "Anywhere, really.' A little, sly chuckle.
Fenrick's suggestion was met with a quirked eyebrow from Donna.
"Either way, noted," she said to him, a slight glint in her eye. He was certainly living up to his status as a troublemaker—and if there was something Donna knew, it was that troublemakers were sometimes more useful than any law-abider could ever hope to be.
"I do not approve of the fact that my favorite quotes are too long for this character limit." - Me"In this weather? Are you having a laugh or something? I've been stuck in blizzards and all, but willingly going into the cold? Not a chance. And if you're really worried about time wasting, we can rent a car downtown too, and a small one at that, it's not a problem. I can get us a ride. So we don't have to worry about frost bite, or the police." The last sentence was followed by a meaningful glare at Fenrick, it being clear that Adam wasn't on board for the car jacking idea. And it certainly didn't help swing his perception of Loki and his children in a favorable direction.

If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to..."True, admittedly. I don't know what they're like in Norway, but I imagine that even here, the police can be nosy bastards in more normal circumstances," said Donna with a slight sneer forming at the mention of cops. "No telling how they'd get if we ended up causing a real ruckus. We'll most likely be breaking laws no matter what we do, but for now, it might be good to at least try to keep it at a minimum."
(She glanced down at Fenrick, but with more sympathy than what Adam gave him.)
At Jake's mention, Donna pulled out the small phone she had to purchase when she first arrived—she had to see what her new number was.

"Well, looks like we'll need them for whatever's in there," said Donna, glancing slightly towards Jake before going back to Tom. "You're absolutely sure you two can't get through it."
"We've only been there for a few minutes, but yes," answered Tom, "we can't get through it. However, I'm not very well-versed in wards, so it's possible that the barrier's only blocking out spirits as weak as us—for all we know, Scions like yourself might have no problem, but there's no guarantee."
