Since we got threads for Trip-Hop and Vaporwave, I might as well make a future beats thread.

Here's a pretty good sampling of what I'd consider "future beat shit"

Flying Lotus - Zodiac Shit

Amon Tobin - Easy Muffin

Ganz - Pvrple Forest

Hudson Mohawke - Fuse

Rustie - After Light

Machinedrum - Back Seat Ho

Flume - Holdin On

Bonobo - Kiara

DJ Rashad (feat. Spinn & Taso) - Feelin

Amon Tobin - Esther's

It's not really a genre but more a scene tbh, a lot of different kind of stuff (vaporwave, Footwork, the more spacey/psychedelic trap music, post-trap) kinda falls under that banner.

The FutureBeats Reddit is a pretty good place to start into this kinda stuff.

Always Remember Tho: Future is a state of mind.

The first track reminds me of J Dilla on acid.

Would this fall under Future Beats, or just instrumental hip-hop/R&B?

It's relatively simple in style, but the beat sounds like a mix of disco, 80's R&B/Funk, and house, and it's all tied together with a funky bassline.

[up]Yeah I guess

Remember, Future Beats ISN'T a genre (I gotta stress this point,) just kind of an unbrealla term for any sorta forward thinking electronic music tbh. Pretty much anything on Inspected could go here, yeah.

Interesting.

I guess this is a good time to talk about KOAN Sound, then. Their sound has really evolved as time went on, and I like it. I love how they incorporate Funk, Soul and Jazz into their Glitch-Hop.
