I did the responsible thing and applied for my Texan driver's license, since I finally had both the time and the necessary paperwork. They gave me a temporary license printout, with my plastic card coming in one or two weeks.
I also had some excess cash from my job's evening payouts that I needed to take to the bank, and since the bank was on the way, I figured I'd do that too. I decided that since I didn't know how much the license application would cost, so I thought I'd stop there on the way back.
The bank needs a photo ID for all transactions, and the temporary printout won't do. I don't have direct deposit set up, and I get my paycheck today, but I won't be able to put any money into my account for about two weeks.
