Sure, but those don't really address the nitty gritty. Like if its the same Silver from 06 or a different one given he's completely friendly with Sonic and shows up in the ending. Or why Eggman Nega is suddenly his enemy rather than Blaze's.
You see what I mean? He has a different story every time he shows up.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The events of 06 were literally erased, nobody remembers it, which is why Sonic and Silver don't recognize each other in Rivals.
He doesn't have a different story in all his appearances, his story got settled like immediately after his debut. Same with the Eggman Nega thing, Rivals came out after Rush, so it got the last word on his backstory, and that's what all media goes with.
If the events were erased, then they weren't settled :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I mean, any conflict is a potential in for Silver. Just pull a "I had to come back and do a thing or Eggman would have won this time." He doesnt have to be in every game. Seeing him once in a while is enough. So it doesnt have to happen often enough to feel tired.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireSilver in general feels like the ultimate "let's rip off Dragon Ball Z" character to me.
It's been 3000 years…...what, so, like, every time we see Silver, it's a different Silver? Every appearance is "Sonic sucks at heroing and fails, but then Silver is born in the doomed future Sonic's failure creates, travels back in time, and un-sucks whatever Sonic sucked at"? It's a universal constant that Silver will eventually be born and come back in time to unwrite whatever apocalyptic tragedy happened this time?
Honestly, I'd be down for that. It's stupid, but it's the good kind of stupid. The wacky fun kind. Especially if Sonic gets used to seeing Silvers pop up to unfuck whatever he fucked up this time, but since it's a different Silver each time, they never recognize him.
- Sonic: This is about to get serious.
- Amy: How do you know?
- Sonic: Because that guy just got here.
- Silver: Listen, you're not going to believe me but—
- Sonic: Yeah, buddy, welcome back. What's up this time?

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Nah, it should be stupider than that. It's the same Silver in the same future. He's just living a happy life having fixed whatever the previous problem was until suddenly Eggman does something terrible in the present, causing Silver's future to retroactively become ruined, and Silver has to go back again to fix it. He keeps all his memories from every event, and the future doesn't become ruined until the present gets to a Bad Future point where it would.
Please ignore how much complete NONSENSE that makes.
You'd think at some point he'd just stay in the present.
"WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING!!!"
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Funnily enough, the animated 90s X-Men did that exact thing. A time traveller (Bishop) went back to "fix" the past then found they'd just created another bad future... So went back to fix their fix several times over.
And then another, different time traveller went back from even further in one of these futures to fix the fix of the fix and oh no I've gone cross-eyed.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Maybe he's the only hero in his homeworld.
If it makes you guys feel any better, Silver future in the games has only ever been ruined by an external factor in the timeline.
Rivals was a time travelling copycat, Generations was a time controlling monster, and Forces was a ruby coming from a different dimension. And IDW is a continuation of Forces problem.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Silver reminds me of that joke from the Incredibles where Mr. Incredible compares himself to a maid that cleans up the same mess every few minutes.

My idea with Silver is that post 06 its the same guy every time and he never actually has memories of the future he fixed - he sacrifices his chance at the world he lived in so others can benefit from it
Didn't Silver's cameo in the DS version of Colors have him say his future's doing pretty good? Granted, that's pretty hard to reconcile with anything else, but still.

Here's the link to the thread about "Sonic the Hedgehog 2".
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. We've been talking about it here, do we really need another thread?
To be fair, every other sequel has its own thread.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I say we don't need to another thread, retitle this one and lock the other
New theme music also a boxEach media work can easily have its own thread. There's nothing wrong with the other one.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.For a spoiler thread sure, but in general the Sonic movies should be discussed in this thread
New theme music also a boxI thought that Spider-Man No Way Home has its own thread and it's the third movie in the MCU Spider Man movies. I think it would be a good idea to at least set up a thread for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, especially since the movie is coming out in a few months and there will be a lot of talk about it then.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!It has a thread already. So that part's already done~

The only game where it wasn't explained why Silver was there was Forces. Like, he was only in Generations after being pulled back in time by the Time Eater, and both Rivals games had him travel back in time to chase down Eggman Nega.
