If they don't add a Squid Girl costume as an extra, I will be so pissed.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI don't like the look that blue one has on her face.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! If the devs don't start calling Splatoon the first paint-themed squid simulator I'll be dissapointed. Same if we don't get Nintendo's towering pillar of hats.
I hope that NOA gets the idea to do just that
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! The best tagline, I think? "Splatoon: Press ZL to Squid."

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIt's not paint, it's ink.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.Creepy fan art aside, I'm absolutely elated to see this fanbase explode before it's even come out. I mean, whenever Nintendo releases a new IP if bombs, falls off the face of the earth, (*cough* The Wonderful 101 *cough*) and is never spoken of again by either the company or whiny gamers pretending they actually want something new and really just throw a tantrum when something isn't Metroid or a Majora's Mask remake (*cough* Codename Steam *cough*), but for ONCE Nintendo is releasing a new IP and people are ACTUALLY paying attention to it. For once.
That's the power of little anthro squid girls shooting liquid at each other.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWorking on something amusing I decided upon after someone mentioned Metroid and Splatoon in the same sentence. Once I get my scanner working (or get a better scanner) I'll post it.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! For some bizarre and unholy reason, I think I might like this idea. Someone help me.
I hate forums. Especially this one.Just like putting Mario Kart into a serious racer will instantly make it silly, putting squid girls shooting brightly-saturated inks into a serious shooter will instantly make it silly.

So now we desire Octodad, Ika-chan, and a Metroid Inkling in Splatoon :DDD
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!@R.J.: I agree. That's why I secretly hope that Splatoon will relentlessly parody popular shooters with every chance it gets. I call dibs on the Gears Of War inkling.
A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.I'd hate to suggest a Zero suit Inkling. No I don't
Well the Metroid-themed Inkling I'm working on is wearing a T-shirt with a Zero Suit pattern.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I have a question:
Besides Bloopers, Octoroks and the Tentacool/Tentacruel species, how many Nintendo squids/cephalopods are there?
Just to list more hat-ideas.

Inkay + Malamar sez hi.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I can't imagine how the game itself would parody other shooters, unless it has a campaign mode.
And parody is something I don't see Nintendo doing. Occasionally Nintendo of America might add a funny joke in their translation (like E. Gadd saying that a scary painting of him would make his diner look more "mature" and less "kiddy"), but Nintendo of Japan doesn't actually parody competitors.

Not direct parody of certain franchises, but given some of the writing in the Mario RPGs, I wouldn't be surprised to see some general parodies of modern shooter grittiness.
It is getting a Single Player story mode. I don't know what they will do for the story but it is having one.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
I didn't see any in the style of official art. That's what I was waiting for.
