I can understand people who are confused why they aren't waiting until the Switch's successor.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."The Nintendo Switch may have longevity that would be better ungraded rather than being scrapped for a new console. After all, a portable HD console that you can play on TV.
And honestly, by 2022, I really expect something along the lines of "New Nintendo Switch" to at least be announced, so something that could take advantage of the hardware upgrade while still being a marketable brand makes real sense.
SoundCloudPeople are fully expecting a Switch Pro sometime this year, and considering Nintendo's past history with hardware updates, sometime in the summer.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."People have been tossing around rumors of a Switch upgrade for years and frankly I don't think it's going to happen. If anything I expect instead of an upgraded Switch the next thing we're getting is a new console entirely in a few years. A quick look on Wikipedia shows that new home consoles come out roughly every five to six years so a successor to the Switch in late 2022 or sometime in 2023 rather than a Switch upgrade seems more likely.

But the Switch is the future. They canned the 3DS line to merge handheld market with the home console market.
I'm expected something akin to the 3DS at worse. A New console that builds upon the previous with a new gimmick to justify the changing hardware and price tag.
What have you two done this time?!
That crowded Japanese suburb look
Coffee machine drones! Also the return of the E-Liter, Dynamo, and 52/96 Gal, plus the new Ink Bow. That last one looks very Joerg Sprave-esque.
The Inkzooka and Killer Wail are back! Also a crab robot Special

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Wait is that what we were stealing so many eggs for?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBoth excited and nervous. On one hand, it's nice that there's a new game. On the other, I hate anarcho-anythingism, I chose Order in the last Splatfest and hoped the outcome wouldn't factor too much into the sequel, and I'm a sucker for urban settings and high-tech stuff.
Hopefully the ship they were building at Sturgeon Shipyard shows up completed in the game. Or in 4 if 3 plays too heavily into the "Entropy has no downsides whatsoever and people who don't like murder are fascist prudes" type-ideologies FAR too many people are espousing these days.

I don't have low self esteem. I have low esteem for others. I HATE the Netflix version of Aggressive Retsuko!I doubt it'll be anything that serious
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaYeah, I can't imagine that it'll really be anything super heavy. I'm mainly intrigued by the fact that you apparently have some control over your starting position in matches, which adds some interesting strategy. Not to mention that with this kinda setting it looks like the stages will be more organically designed after 2 had more blocky geometry to it.
Also, did anybody else get Borderlands vibes from the intro?

Reaction Image RepositoryIn the trailer when you see the inside of the train out of the window you can see a city with tall white buildings. Maybe thats the order city?
I'm pretty sure it's just the sunlight reflecting off the white buildings of Splatsville.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Hmm maybe. Its supposed to be Vegas right?
I can't see this game reveal without having Marty Robbins' "Big Iron" playing in my head.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughI could see it going either way. On the one hand, Vegas DOES have that Eiffel Tower replica, but on the other, who's to say that something screwy didn't happen climate-wise and there's now a giant desert in Europe?
I don't have low self esteem. I have low esteem for others. I HATE the Netflix version of Aggressive Retsuko! In the Splatoon universe the Atlantropa Project must have happened.
I missed the part where that's my problem.Or the whole thing is happening so far in the future they're on novopangaea.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.There were a few world wars that happened in the backstory, so it being super-nuked France is entirely possible.
Assuming it's actually in france, and a Kaiju Salmonid didn't pick the Eiffel tower up to use it as a club on something in Germany or whatever.
there was also what looked like a pyramid in the background too which between that, the effiel tower, and the desert and overall chaos thing makes me lean towards vegas.
Now I want to see Shin Salmonid....
Great, now I'm imagining a giant Stinger emerging from the sea and doing this.
Reaction Image RepositoryExcited for the new game!
So it seems like the Order vs. Chaos Splatfest might have influenced the game's look? To be honest, even as a Chaos player (because I'm definitely more "chaotic") I preferred Order's aesthetic and considered choosing that side just for that... oh well, it's gonna be fun anyway!
Just a funny lil alien guy
Dude. It will have been five years since 2's release in 2022.
