I probably was streaming all that.
"OH MY GOD! THIS WEAPON IS FUCKING EXPENSIVE! SHELDON! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING WITH THIS PRICE TAG?!"
The only thing that happens is being immediately banned for attempting to tamper with the weapon data
Listen, trapping somebody's soul inside isn't easy, you know.
And yet easy enough to only be worth $500?
Well, if you charge too much, nobody will buy it. There's kind of a stigma against weapons with human souls bound to them, after all. You have to find a comfortable middle ground with the price.
Also, you don't know the effect that the bound soul will have on the weapon until after you combine them, so it's a bit of a crapshoot.

Inklings will be Soul Caliber VII, got it.
They're probably in the current one as custom characters somewhere.
A new Switch general commercial out of Japan shows some of the visuals from what is likely a a winter based Splatfest. Starts at 0:15.
Blackbelly Skatepark will be under construction and out of rotation until 4.3's launch.

It's nice to know global warming hasn't completely eradicated snow in the future...maybe.
December won't have a Splatfest, Family vs Friends worldwide Splatfest on January 4th through 6th; features Holiday themed head gear.
As it turns out, I'll be on vacation with family to China from December 26 to January 9. Geez, thanks Nintendo. Teasing a Frosty Fest during a time where most people would be on vacation trips. I wonder who's going to win...

That's nothing compared to the tornado that hit my city and took out the power on September's Splatfest weekend.
I didn't get a tornado, but I did miss the Inkling/Octoling splatfest because I was on vacation.
That's the same reason I had to miss Callie vs. Marie in the first game. I'm still beating myself up over it.
I missed the beta Splatfest (Cake vs. Ice Cream) and the Ketchup vs. Mayonaisse one because I didn't have a Switch yet, but I only got to Defender rank in the Action vs. Comedy Splatfest because I was at a Magic: The Gathering prerelease tournament for most of that day.
I'm pretty sure that they skipped the December Splatfest and did one after New Year's specifically because they figured most people would be busy with holiday stuff and less likely make it to a Splatfest. There's a sound business reason for that, too — no point in spending developer time making content that few people are actually going to see.
The Splatfest not being on Christmas itself is also good for people who get the game as a present. They'll have time to learn how not to get annihilated by others by Splatfest (and they'll probably have time to beat the single player by then).
Also I'm happy new years is getting some rep for once

Wha-What the fuck?!
You don't just announce next month's splatfest before this month's splatfest!
Anarchy, I tells ya!
but yeah this is likely why the 'holiday' splatfest is later
