Design styles based on the subway, huh. Well, locally the SMRT lines have evolved over the past few decades, from the loud orange of the 80s Singapore Telecoms-styled Newton station and the mostly-marble-and-steel look of the original North-South line to the redecorated artsy stations like Orchard and Dhoby Ghaut, and the the Northeast, Circle, and Downtown lines have increasingly space-aged styles with more and more plastic and artsy decorations, like Botanic Garden station's actual platform-level fountain and the Mitakihara-esque low lighting of Stadium and Paya Lebar (Circle Line side).
It's fun to imagine what Inkopolis train stations might be like from the oldest to the latest stops.
