Little harsh putting Lynn as a toxic relation to Lincoln. Sure she ain't the nicest out there, but it's not like she doesn't care for him and she has helped him before. I'd say she should be a tier higher (like come on, she isn't worse than Chandler to Lincoln).

I take it you meant to say Flip, as the video says Chandler is Lincoln's most toxic relationship.

Since Lynn is between them, that means Lincoln has a healthier relationship with Flip than with Lynn Jr. (That's probably not true, Wicked Binge may have wanted to jump on the Lynn hate.)

I mean, pre-Middle-Men Lynn could be a real asshole at times. *points to No Such Luck* And post, too, to a lesser extent. *points to Schooled!*

I wonder why they didn't write an episode where Lincoln runs away from his family because he doesn't feel appreciated by them? I mean, he's been locked out of his house by his parents once, and nearly everyone in the Loud family called him a "life-ruiner" at one point. I wouldn't be surprised if there would be an episode or even a whole movie with that premise.

Granted, I know that the Loud family doesn't always act like this, but those moments really do raise a few questions.

Lincoln, as stated, has a healthy relationship with both of his parents and four of his sisters (Lucy, Lana, Leni, and Lily). And the other 6 all have their moments. Him running away is OOC for everyone. It would be like The Green House where everyone is awful.

We already have way too many Accusation Fics where Lincoln does that. We don't need canon joining in, too.

[up][up][up]Already have a million fanfics doing running away Lincoln plot, no need to encourage that. Besides, No Suck Luck is just one bad Lynn episode. You don't see people calling Lola toxic based on A Tattler's Tale, Lori based on Driving Miss Hazy and Getting the Message, and Luan based on the April Fools episodes. One bad episode shouldn't equal Lynn is super toxic or even the only toxic one.

Besides Ronnie Anne used to bully Lincoln (to the point where Lynn didn't approve of it in Heavy Meddle) and pranks him a lot, yet she somehow is seen as one of Lincoln's healthiest relationships in the video so that's some weird Double Standard.

It's not the only episode where Lynn is horrible to Lincoln. Just the most (in)famous.

They need more episodes like the loudest yard where Lynn is helpful. I don't know why they have such a hard time writing her sympathetically.

I remember Lynn used to have the issue where episodes that had her in both a supportive and prominent role were almost nonexistent.

I think it's because Lynn is one of the, if not the easiest sisters to write in an antagonistic role for an episode, given her incredibly aggressive personality. The only other two who can be written as antagonistic easily are Lori and Lola, and the former moved out in Season 5.

We all have to answer to the call of fate when it beckons us, even if it is not at a moment of our choosing.

I watched the new episode when it premiered in Canada.

"Day of the Dad" was rather lackluster.

We have Lori exiting the bus station on a rainy day. She gets a call from Lincoln and goes ranting about needing to meet Bobby's dad for the first time. Of course, Lincoln questions why she hasn't even though they were in the Casagrandes' apartment last Christmas. It turns out that through a series of contrived coincidences, she had just missed Arturo the entire time the family was there. It's strange. That's why she resolves to meet the guy, and hangs up before Lincoln tries to ask for one of her golf clubs. Meanwhile, Arturo arrives and leaves a message on Bobby's voicemail. He encounters the rain and hails down a taxi at the same time Lori does. Since neither of them recognize each other, they get into an argument that leads to Lori pushing Arturo out of the way into a puddle and manhandling herself into the taxi. She nervously apologizes before the taxi drives off as she cringes at the sight. When she arrives at Bobby's apartment, she apologizes for being late, but he assures her that his dad was running late as well, so she takes the time to freshen up. Once he arrives, she finds out that Arturo was the guy she pushed into a puddle. Uh-oh.

As he tells him about what happened, she disguises herself into something called a "Gigaroonie" or something? And puts some foot cream on her face. Then she goes out and says hi, hiding the fact that they already met. They hit it off like it's nothing. After she herds him to the bathroom to dry himself off, he questions her about it and assures her things would be alright. Once the rain clears out, he invites them to go out for pizza. Then she gets splashed by a car, washing off the cream on her face. She ends up taking a bottle of spicy mayo from Vito to keep up the masquerade. She spots Margarita's beauty parlor, so she shoos them away and makes a beeline for there to ask her for a makeover. At Amores Pizza, Bobby burns his tongue on a pizza slice. Lori comes in with a brand new look of brunette hair, small eyelashes, and a blush. She hears Bobby about to show Arturo pictures of them, so she throws a shaker at it before coming in. So drastic is her makeover that he mistakes her for someone else. Once back in Michigan, Lori recounts everything to Lincoln. He tries to ask her again for the golf club to retrieve a drone that's stuck somewhere, but she shoves him off when she gets another call from Bobby: Arturo wants to invite her for pizza again! Not only that, but Arturo has plans for her for the whole year!

Before she resigns herself to disguising herself for the rest of her life, Lisa offers her the Pinpoint-Accurate Memory Erasing Laser Apparatus, or P.A.M.E.L.A. for short. That's right. She's proposing to erase Arturo's memory. This episode already out of whack. And she's already used it to wipe Lincoln's memory of having a snow globe collection after accidentally liquefying it. Honestly, the episode kinda deteriorates here for me. Once she calibrates it, she warns Lori that it is quite sensitive, because apparently the word "safeguard" isn't in her vocabulary. Once she encounters Arturo, he promptly recognizes her as the girl who pushed him into the puddle. What a callous bitch. She tries to make him look at P.A.M.E.L.A., but the restaurant door hits her, causing her to drop and break it because of course it does. She manages to put it back together just as he begins to tell her off and she wipes his memory. His entire memory. That means he doesn't remember anything: not even his own son. Yikeseeola. She heads off to the bathroom to call for Lisa's help. Unfortunately, the procedure for fixing P.A.M.E.L.A. takes 170 steps, and Lori loses her grip and drops it in the toilet. And it isn't waterproof. And an improved version wouldn't come for three months. Frankly, Lisa irritates me the more she appears.

She goes back out to find him gone; Bobby was under the impression that Arturo was making dad jokes about not knowing him. When he didn't laugh, he stormed out. They set off and find him hailing a taxi, and she stops him. When he comments that he is getting a sense of déja vu, she realizes that his memory is still in there, so she hip-checks him into another puddle. That promptly triggers his memory, and he calls her out on it, which shocks Bobby, which causes him to find out that they were dating all this time. Yikeseeola. Once she explains it, he assures her that he can't hate someone Bobby cares so much about. They agree to a fresh start, only for Lori to accidentally push the hot pizza on his torso. Ouch.

I feel that this episode had a promising start, although as I said, the circumstances for the set-up feel very much contrived. Otherwise, it's compelling. The scenario of committing a faux pas to a stranger who turns out to be someone you need to impress is quite relatable, and while rather unlikely, it's still very much within the realm of possibility, which would allow the viewer to actually imagine it. Which makes the turn towards memory wiping at the middle of the episode a disappointment. Honestly, why am I surprised? Lisa's become too OP in recent seasons. She keeps throwing a wrench in the machinery, in-universe and out, and it's always a mess. Seriously, who in their right mind would think memory wiping someone to cover your own ass would be a good idea in the first place? It just gets ridiculous. I've been complaining about it for quite some time now. It ruins perfectly serviceable episodes. And considering the upcoming episodes, I would expect more ups and downs from this show.

As a result, I would have to give this episode a 7/10.

Frankly, I feel reviewing these episodes is a chore. That and other stuff coming through my life right now. I haven't composed my reviews of the series finale of The Owl House and the Season 2 episodes of The Ghost and Molly McGee (though the latter's bomb release formats don't help). And I'm getting into new shows (primarily Disney cartoons) that I can't review. So I really hope to get excited about other things to watch at a leisurely pace.

"Small Blunder" starts great but goes too off-the-rails for me.

Lily is bringing her Blarney the Dinosaur doll for show-and-tell. The other Louds had pretty bad experiences with that, though. The dad talks about some guy named Billy Donovan stealing the spotlight with his talking mynah bird and briefly loses control of the car. At the preschool, she exhibits the doll and impresses the other kids with its burping function. Kinda gross for me. Then her classmate Michelle shows another Blarney doll that comes with a toilet and simulates bodily functions. That's way more gross, but it impresses the others to Lily's dismay. She shows them other stuff but her classmates keep overshadowing her. It zig-zags between realistic and really out-there stuff, like a mini-monster truck, so she swears to be the star of show-and-tell. Later, Luan offers Mr. Coconuts, but she drops him. Then Lincoln suggests magic tricks and demonstrates. It goes poorly. Then she raids Lisa's room to find something to bring and ends up with what appears to be a toy Vanzilla. In reality, it's a shrunken Vanzilla that Lisa had miniaturized with her brand new shrink ray after the garage had been filled up with boxes.

Yeah. Lily wants to take it, but Lisa says it's too dangerous. On cue, she accidentally fires it and brings Vanzilla back to normal size, which causes it to fall through the floor. She and Todd proceed to hide it in her bunker. But Lily has other ideas. She unlocks the bunker with her password (Lisa's birthday) and is caught by Todd, so she distracts him with a lollipop and proceeds to pilfer the shrink ray. At school, Lily takes out the shrink ray, but everyone is confused. She tries to demonstrate. Unfortunately, it's been covered with peanut butter from her sandwich, so it doesn't work, and Dr. Shuttleworth thinks it's a demonstration of her imagination. Oh, I wish it was. Once she leaves, Lily licks the ray clean and soon she starts firing it. The kids promptly lift her up which causes her to drop the shrink ray and it fires, reflecting off a mirror and shrinking Lily and the others. They start crying, so Lily tries to get it, only to end up touching one of the kids' guinea pig, Tater Tot. Very soon, Tater Tot chases them, so Lily commandeers the RC plane she had brought and flies off to reach it from the table. She fires it and they all grow back to normal.

The next day, they go for a more normal set of objects for show-and-tell. Lily brings out a box. It doesn't do anything. At least, it's not supposed to. It's actually a teleportation box, and Lisa's asking Todd where it is. "Why must it always be Todd's fault?" I'll do you one better: why does Lisa do it? It's a valid query. So the class ends up dropping into Lisa and Lily's room, breaking Todd's lollipop.

Like with the previous episode, I did like the set-up. It's a nice showcase on the social dynamics of show-and-tell between different people. And we get that right here. I did like how Lily shows her devious side once again. I bet she gets that from Lola. It's actually quite fun to see her do things, and I do appreciate the effort to give her even more characterization, especially since she's now older and can talk. By contrast, I don't really like the science-fiction direction of the second half of the episode. Just like with "Day of the Dad", it kills off the relatability and it just turns me off of things. It doesn't help that Lisa feels rather callous about it. At least we get some development for Lily as a result, but I think we could do better than a rehash of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. I mean, why do people overthink everything? Also, I noticed that someone at Jam Filled Entertainment left the animatic layer on. I mean, they had like, a month or two to fix it between the Canadian and American premieres. I wonder what happened. Has quality control declined for this show as well?

Overall, it's an episode with a great start but gets too out of hand for my tastes. I would give this episode a 7.5/10. There shouldn't be any shoehorning of sci-fi in a slice-of-life show. It just doesn't work that well. It should be lucky it got something out of a growing character.

I watched the new episode after it premiered in Italy.

"Fashion No Show" was a pretty great episode.

Carlota has been going through an internship running errands under fashion designer Mariella Moss, and she's doing a pretty good job in her position. So good, in fact, that she's considering putting her in charge of her show for Fashion Week! The theme: a love letter to Chicago (or rather, Great Lakes City) in the spring. Just look at this vision board and tell me that isn't a great fashion theme:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20230511210028.jpg Since a fashion show is a lot of work, Carlota is asked to hire another intern to help her with it. And she knows the right person for the job – Leni Loud! But when she does, that causes Carl to warn her that she has effectively hired her replacement. The blonde is absolutely enchanted by Mariella's place, and soon she's thrown into the errands. Carlota shows Moss a dress she made when Leni ends up careening along in roller skates and crashes, causing one of them to fall on the top of the mannequin. That inspires Mariella to try out "footwear as a hat" and crash into all her designs. Very avant-garde.

Next, she proposes giving out Bruno's hot dogs, but they end up spilling ketchup. Cue a more deliberate intervention from Leni: sparkling water! That cleans out the stain, so Mariella decides to add that to the menu. It's starting to get bothersome. Then for the finale, Carlota proposes a light show only for Leni to interrupt with Bitsi the elephant. And of course, Mariella wants that pronto. And to underscore the deep shit she's in, Carlota actually steps on elephant shit. When she complains about it to Carl, he suggests getting rid of her not by firing, but by sending her on a long errand. Really devious, Carl, but she's not taking it. She gets a call from Moss and hears her putting Leni in charge of the fashion show instead. Now all bets are off. At the studio, Leni is setting up bunk beds to fit more of the audience. Carlota directs her to go to a boutique over at "657th Street". I don't think cities have that many streets. When Mariella asks where she is, she declares Carlota back in charge. Carlota directs Carl and Sergio to cut some fabric and they end up making a pretty impressive El Falcon-inspired design. How fabulous.

Then she directs them to set up the food and refreshments. The bird tries to retrieve a couple of bottles of sparkling water, but he ends up shaking them too much and they burst and splash them, causing Carl to retaliate and accidentally splash Carlota. Then Carlota asks Carl to simply press the play button for her preset chill music playlist for the show. They start the music and some models go out and down the runway. Sergio gets bored, though, so he has the music go faster, and the models struggle. The two get into a fight and the models end up stumbling from all the lights, causing them to walk out and Carlota to panic, as she's not able to reach Leni at all. They search across the city, and just as everything seems bleak, she comes by the van. Carlota admits that she did those things because she was jealous of how well she meshed with Mariella, and that she deserved to be fired. However, Leni assures that with twenty minutes to go, they can still save it, because she'll do anything for her. Sure enough, they pull it together and stage a pretty impressive fashion show with the other Casagrandes, starting it off with Lalo carrying Ronnie Anne down the runway, kind of like a certain other girl voiced by Izabella Alvarez and her dog, no? The other family members come by with their outfits, leading to the grand finale with Bitsi and Mariella! Afterwards, she commends Carlota for a successful show, and she makes sure to say that it was a team effort, after all. So she hires them both. As Mariella leaves to wrangle the elephant, Sergio comes by down the runway in really high wedges and ends up falling into another round of elephant shit. For the love of God, that's disgusting, someone should have cleaned it up.

This was a great show. We get to see some great dynamics between Carlota and Leni, and to a lesser extent Carlota and Carl. It was fun seeing them in their element. I also appreciate how the two have such a strong bond together. It shows how much the families are intertwined. If I may make a criticism, I do think Leni should have tried to give Carlota encouragement when they find her. I mean, Carlota is pretty talented, she shouldn't sell herself short. It's a small nitpick, but I sincerely believe that she has it, you know? I do appreciate that Carl and Sergio weren't as insufferable in this episode. That's another demonstration of how you write characters like these that don't derail an episode. You have to use them strategically, and it's executed quite well over here. Mariella Moss was also pretty interesting. She's got a very fun joie de vivre that is pretty good. Not as infectious as Sid Chang's, but pretty fun as well. And I do appreciate how colorful the episode went and how it hit its story beats quite well. Maybe the "elephant oopsies" thing was a bit much, but considering how fashion shows go, it was probably inevitable. Other than that, it was a pretty great episode.

I would give this one an 8.5/10. A wonderful showing for the Carlota and Leni duo.
