Mortal Kombat XL

Actually, this gave me another idea for Lui and Kitana. Instead of plotting to conquer other realms, they might instead be keeping Netherealm from invading them.

A couple of ideas.

-Fujin takes a more active role in the story, like they had planned back in Deadly Alliance's development but never did.

-Mileena's ending becomes canon, and she uses her clone bodies to come back to life and continue her rebellion with Tanya and Rain, now possibly aided by Earthrealm due to Kotal's betrayal.

-Smoke/Enenra joining the Lin Kuei again.

-Kung Lao coming back to life.

-Takeda taking up the mantle of Scorpion.

-Frost joining Cassie's team.

-Li Mei taking a more active role in this timeline, possibly joining Mileena's rebellion.

I'm pretty sure the Yellow eyes and finger talons are a giveaway something's wrong with Raiden

And how about the fact he has Shinnok's Amulet stapled to his uniform. I think that's a big sign that even if Raiden isn't going evil then he's stopped giving fucks.

That's just it, we don't know how evil Raiden is now. Threatening Lui and Kitana doesn't seem all that bad given what they might be up to and at least he gave them warning instead of killing them outright.

What types of characters would you like to see in the next game

For me:

A character who controls plants.

A heroic sorcerer. Maybe Nightwolf's cousin.

Well, we've explored all the possible avenues that Mortal Kombat can explore in terms of kung fu and action movie cliches. Robots, ninjas, cops, ghosts, deities, I think we've done it all at this point. Well we haven't done an anti-video games politician yet but Eternal Champions and Bloodstorm already took care of that with the latter literally putting Joe Liebermann's head on another character's body and calling it good.

Although we haven't done a psycho hillbilly yet. I mean we got Leatherface but not a psycho hilbilly that smashes your face in with a banjo.

Or hell put one of the developers in there like the old Midway days! I'm sure one of them won't be too averse to seeing themselves get torn to shreds.

Did any of the creators state if there were future plans for Jade?

There seems to be, from the arcade endings.

Her last one, from MK 9, showed her meeting some weird ghostly woman, and you never find out who or what she is.

Then in MKX, you learn Jade was the only one Quan Chi never got the soul of, so he couldn't make her a revenant. Then Kitana's ending shows Jade existing outside of reality or something, watching Kitana. Looking all ghostly like the woman from her own ending in 9.

Something big is happening with Jade, we just aren't sure what.

But we saw Jade as a revenant in MK 9

Retconned. MKX shows that she isn't.

Okay. Something else I've wondered, is Jade descended from the same tribe of warriors as Johnny and Cassie? She summons the green halo like them and even has Johnny's shadow kick.

I doubt it. She's Edenian, and roughly 10,000 years old. I don't think that cult would necessarily be that old, nor would it make sense for an Edenian to he descended from them.

I just assumed it had something to due with the entity back in her mk 9 ending in regards to her not being a revenant.

So how does she seem to have powers similar to Johnny and Cassie?

Because she was treated as a replacement to Johnny in MK3.

Pretty much. And honestly, when it comes to how Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, Jade, and Sindel can do what they do, I just assume "Edenian magic".

Though I do like the theory I heard about Tanya's fire powers coming from magic tattoos, and her giving Mileena tattoos that activate teleportation powers. Obviously theres nothing solid in the games to support it outside of their variations, but it always seemed like an interesting idea.

Still it is an odd coincidence she just happens to have an ability very similar to the Cages.

So assuming they use the variation system, what would your ideas be for some characters that show up? Jade:

Shadow: Enhances her speed with the green halo and her immunity to projectiles

Bojutsu: Uses moves relying on her staff

Spin Cutter: Gains orbiting razor rangs for offense and defense.

Li Mei:

Nova: Light based attacks

Flying Fury: Allows her to hover to evade or attack

Kunlun Doa: Uses her weapon.

Oooh, I like this sorta thing!

Shang Tsung:

• Thousand Faces: Revolves around morphing to some degree to keep opponents guessing. With the current technology we have we can wangle some sort of morphing similar to what the old games did
• Sorcery: Fireballs and portal trickery
• Master of Souls: A unique type of gameplay that brings his soul stealing and manipulation to teh forefront using souls to either empower himself or heal damage to a degree.

Shao Kahn

• Wrath Hammer: Take a guess.
• Brute Force: Uses his MK 3 Face Fireball and moves that involve brute force like his Lift-and-Punch throw from Trilogy
• Invincible: Basically a full on stonewall that, if played right, can be sort of an MK Walker like he used to be, albeit being hugely slow to make up for it.

I like those Shang Tsung ideas.

-Bi Han-

-Wraith: Moves involving the use of his portals and ghost ball thingy. Basically a bunch of tricky moves that can be used to torment the opponent.

-Saibot: Summoning his shadow clone to attack in combos and special moves.

-Cryomancer: Adds some of his old ice moves to his arsenal, and plays more like he did back when he was alive.

-Frost-

Slippery: Enhances speed and evasion

Ice Cutter: Grants Frost ice dagger for close and long range combat

Ice Puddle: Leaves ice traps to freeze enemies.

-Sindel-

Banshee: Sonic scream and purple fire ball.

Gorgon: Uses her hair

Spirit: Uses levitation for evasion and the projectile attack

-Nightwolf-:

Archer: Uses enchanted arrows

Hunter: Uses the tomahawks and knives

Shaman: Uses mystical fire and lightning

Anyone got any ideas for Fujin's and Sareena's variations? Also, what would you think of to replace Kitana's mournful variation?

Frost Goro Mileena The Revenants

I'd like to see Earthrealm switch over to supporting Mileena's rebellion at some point. Kotal betraying them woupd definitely push them in that direction, because even if Mileena didn't help them back in the first war with Shinnok, she didn't try to kill them either. Plus, if she got Edenia freed from Outworld, she may be more likely to consider an actual alliance.

That all hinges on Mileena coming back to life though.

If her tower ending is canon, it's a possibility.
