To be fair, it's not like that game isn't without it's male Fanservice. Jacob with his shirt off, Thane bearing some of his chest (though that's explained I'm narrative).
I think his point was that he thought Sam was a Replacement Scrappy but ended up being wrong.
And honestly, Kelly is annoying as hell. I can check my Messages myself, thank you very much Madame!

Even without romancing Traynor, she gets lots of great content. Her awkwardness is a lot of fun, she gets to grow as a character as she becomes more confident, and, hey, we actually get to see her (or at least overhear her) interact with other characters, unlike Kelly.
I do feel like more could've been done with Kelly as unofficial ship therapist. Updates on the mental state of the crew, and more insights into the mental states of the squad. She gives a brief overview of the personality of anyone you recruit, and that's it. It would've been cool for her to talk about each squad mate when letting you know they want to talk about their loyalty mission, and then talk about them again after each loyalty mission, with a little bit of variation depending on how you resolve each one. Convince Miranda to talk with Oriana? "Ms. Lawson's been a lot warmer lately. I don't know what happened on that mission, but she seems happier." Miranda doesn't talk to Oriana? "Ms. Lawson was never really the type to fraternize, but lately, she seems to be distancing herself even more. I don't know what happened on that mission, but she seems more determined to be alone." Something like that.
Just a thought I just had.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. To be fair, Kelly is a lot better at reading people than people give her credit for. She's the only person on the ship to, without spying as Kasumi does, realise something is wrong if Morinth is impersonating Samara. As for her therapist skills, maybe she uses them more on the various minor crew members we see. The squad mates aren't the only people working the Normandy, after all. It's probably enough for her to go "Commander, your squadmates are upset, go have a chart with them" and then focus on helping the other crew members.

That's why I said it would've been neat if she also commented on the state of the crew. "Eden Prime's shaken everyone up a bit, but it's also reminded them of how important our mission is. And it showed us all that the Collectors aren't invincible, which has been great for morale." "That encounter with the Collector Ship scared a lot of the crew. I'm doing what I can to keep everyone's spirits up." Little bits like that.
The factions aren't the Federation yet i mean even for a joint venture ship the Normandy is mostly Humans
It would have been nice that as you go about your missions more races join to staff the ship 'though the Geth would be arkward' but that wouldn't have made much sense cause you hook right back up with the Alliance Fleet relatively quick

It makes sense for the first part of ME3 as you've just left Earth. But there definitely should've been some non-Human NPC crew members on Normandy afterwards. Picked a bunch of Asari and/or Turians from that random planet in the ass end of nowhere? A couple decides to stay and complement your marines. Saved a Volus merchant? He now assists with resource management. Etc.
I want to believe that it's technical reasons that prevented that from being a thing in the game.

Not sure that makes sense given the war and how the focus on the game is getting the Crucible up and running. The game paints all of the work of the war effort being focused on getting that thing operational, hence why experts you recruit are all being sent there to work on it, while the Normandy should have everyone onboard that is required to operate long term after your first stop at the Citadel.
Yeah, having an alien crew wouldn't make sense in any of the games, partly because for 1 and 3 the Normandy is a ship from the Systems Alliance, a human polity. Why would there be alien crewmates beyond your party members?
Not to mention 2 is Cerberus, a rabidly human supremacist faction. The only reason your party members are there at all is because they're needed for the mission.
Although the Normandy is a Systems Alliance ship, it was a joint venture between humans and turians.
Though really, the obvious answer is that there's no time in 3 to accomodate a greater proportion of alien crewmembers and make sure they're comfortable and have their needs met. It's one thing to have a minority of squadmates and the occasional visitor, it's another to get supplies for a completely disparate crew. The logistics would be phenomenally stretched. Not to mention the time spent on training for everyone's varied military doctrines.

I kept expecting a chance to expose Traynor as a spy for the Alliance on Shepard. She, after all, is a dirty dirty Replacement Scrappy for Yeoman Kelly. I kept expecting a twist like the one in Citadel with Alt-Shepard's girlfriend.
I was Wrong Genre Savvy.
