“first ever incumbent president to not only be impeached but also arrested in S. Korean history”

Given the history of SK presidency, it was only a matter of time, I suppose…

There's been a lot of Presidents impeached, and a lot arrested, but they don't usually go together.

Reuters: South Korea President Yoon indicted for insurrection over martial law decree

The President of the ROK is immune from prosecution while in office, however the crimes of insurrection and incitement of foreign aggression (i.e., treason) are exceptions. Yoon became the first president to become criminally indicted while in office.

A teenager who attempted to set fire to the Seoul Western District Court is being detained for the investigation. During the January 19 far-right riot at the courthouse, he poured oil into a broken window at the courthouse and threw in a burning piece of paper.

Tokyo announced that there's stopping monetary contributions to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women over criticisms of revising laws to allow women to ascend the throne.

According to Tokyo, the rules regarding succession to allow women to be in the throne is not discriminatory and it's not a basic human right in Japan.

Imperial Household Agency, the Japanese government agency that handles the affairs of the tenno and family. Often considered a bastion of conservatism.

It's their loss. The family barely has any interested (or viable) heirs left, and if the intention is to let the Japanese Imperial family quietly fade into obscurity, so be it.

It all depends on how much of a grip the older generation of Japan has.

There are WWII deniers and those who have a Stay in the Kitchen view of women, but most were in diapers in the years after WWII or were in elementary school during The '60s.

If not this decade, expect to see it in the next decade as Japan's Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha get sick of the shit coming out of the IHA and their fanboys.

The irony is that if the IHA put a woman on the throne, they could save it. "See, we're progressive and we got with the times!".

More than half of the rioters arrested at the Seoul Western District Court riot were men in their 20s and 30s. This is in contrast to the large number of young women who show up at rallies demanding Yoon's removal from office.

South Korean Police are investigating an online community full of incels for plotting to riot at the Constitutional Court. Users of the online community DCInside posted floorplans of the Constitutional Court of Korea, along with photos of entrances. DCInside is the community whose members stormed the studio that developed Limbus Company because they didn't get a picture of a female character in a bikini. Posts are saying that Yoon's last court date for his impeachment trial is 'Purge Day,' and are encouraging other users to storm the court. Some other posts are alleging that the Democratic Party's politicians and the Constitutional Court justices are ethnic Chinese, and must be killed.

So, far-righters in the West claim that a secret cabal of Jewish people has infiltrated the upper echelons of government, far-righters in Japan claim that a secret cabal of Zainichi Koreans has infiltrated the upper echelons of government, and far-righters in South Korea claim that a secret cabal of ethnic Chinese people has infiltrated the upper echelons of government.

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea voted to recommend to the Constitutional Court to guarantee the right for Yoon to defend himself.

During the meeting, Yoon's supporters surrounded the offices of the National Human Rights Commission, and they occupied the hallway in front of the meeting room. One Yoon supporter, dressed up as Captain America, blocked the door to the elevators, preventing staff and human rights activists who don't support Yoon from sitting in the meeting.

For reference, the head of the National Human Rights Commission, who Yoon appointed, wrote a book claiming that if a law banning discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation passes, then AIDS and anal cancer would spread, there would be problems with gender-separated public baths and toilets, and that sexual crimes will increase.

At his impeachment trial, Yoon claimed that the citizens assaulted the soldiers, and 16 special forces operators were injured because civilians beat them.

He also said that it was the opposition parties' fault that he declared martial law, saying that they would not applaud him when he spoke at the National Assembly.

So Kim Jong-un had his uncle executed by firing squad because his uncle did not applaud him. Yoon Suk-yeol ordered armed troops to kidnap opposition lawmakers because they wouldn't applaud him.
