Designated Survivor: 60 Days: The entire cabinet, except for one guy who was asked to leave, gets killed in a terrorist attack.

Real life: The entire cabinet, except for some guy who wasn't invited to the cabinet meeting where Yoon decided to declare martial law, gets impeached.

Is that some sort of record? Three different presidents within a month of each other?

I know South Korea's government is far from perfect but it's impressive they're able to do this much to hold these people accountable

Under the current constitution, yes, the job of acting president has not went past Prime Minister. I've heard the line of succession went past that before, after either the April Revolution in 1960 or the December coup in 1979.

Unlike in the US, if president is impeached, the PM becomes acting president until the Constitutional Court decides wheter to remove the president, and if the seat of president becomes vacant the PM becomes acting president for 60 days while an election is held to find a new president. That is why in the Korean remake of Designated Survivor a major theme was the dilemma of how much an acting president is allowed to do compared to a full president.

The line of succession for President of the ROK is as follows:

1. Prime Minister 2. Deputy PM for the Economy and Minister of Finance 3. Deputy PM and Minister of Education 4. The cabinet ministers, starting with the Minister of Science and ICT,

Aren't there rules about which presidential powers an acting President is or isn't allowed to use? I know there are in my own country, for instance.

[up]There are no codified rules on what an acting president can or cannot do. However, the general consensus among constitutional law experts is that the acting president can only exercise the powers of the president to maintain the status quo. This is because no one in the list of succession is elected, so they do not have the political justification to make politicial decisions.

Recently, the ruling PPP has been under fire as they claim that PM and acting president Han has the authority to veto bills, but not the authority to appoint Constitutional Court justices nominated by the legislature.

The pretzels they must be shaping themselves into to justify that bullshit must be amazing.

The Korea Times: Residents of Yoon's former apartment complex: 'We hope he never comes back'

Yoon's former neighbors are ashamed of him. The homeowners in the luxury apartment complex where Yoon lived are worried that Yoon might cause their property values to drop. Some are worried that if Yoon returns home after his presidency, the apartment complex might be flooded with protesters.

The Democratic Party is saying that there are still 40 Korea Defense Intelligence Agents (KDIC) who are out there with their weapons. The party suspects that the agents are tasked with blowing up the ROKAF Cheongju air base, where the F-35 stealth fighters are stationed, or the THAAD missile defense system in a false flag operation to justify martial law.

The Ministry of National Defense said that all KDIC agents have returned to their bases.

The Korea Times: Nat'l Assembly votes in favor of appointment of 3 Constitutional Court judge nominees

The National Assembly voted to fill the three empty seats in the Constitutional Court. The PPP stayed out of the vote, claiming that acting president Han Duck-su does not have the authority to appoint the Constitutional Court justices. Han made a televised speech this morning saying that he would not appoint the justices without bipartisan support. The Democratic Party said they would vote on Han's impeachment on Friday, local time.

Democratic Party lawmaker Moon Jeong-bog wrote a Facebook post calling acting president Han Duck-soo a son of a b**tch. The PPP said that the post is "clearly fake news", saying that Han is not the son of a b**ch, but the son of a person.

The National Assembly is voting on Han's impeachment. As soon as Speaker Woo Won-sik announced that the vote to impeach the PM only needs a simple majority to pass (151 votes) instead of the two-thirds vote required to impeach the President, the PPP lawmakers surrounded the Speaker's seat and are chanting that the vote is null and void. The PPP previously claimed that since Han is merely acting president, he does not have the authority to appoint Constitutional Court justices, now, they are claiming that he is acting president, it requires a two-thirds majority to impeach him (unlike other public officials).

Update: The vote passed 192-0, with all PPP lawmakers boycotting the vote. Acting president PM Han Duck-soo is impeached. His powers will be suspended while the Constitutional Court decides whether to keep him in office. The seat of acting president and acting PM now goes to deputy PM for the economy and finance minister Choi Sang-mok.

The PPP is filing a suit with the Constitutional Court claiming that the National Assembly ovrstepped its constitutional powers by impeaching the acting president with only a majority vote. They also filed an injunction to suspend the effect of the impeachment vote

Then PM Miyazawa was worried about the DPRK leaving the NPT that he spoke to American officials on the matter.

His concerns on the DPRK someday have working nukes were not shared with other administrations, which was said to be blamed for Tokyo not having any policies on the DPRK after they did the first nuke test.

A Boeing 737-800 crashed while trying to land at Muan International Airport. 181 people were onboard.

There are videos circulating around showing the moments leading up to the crash of the plane so be warned.

Do we know if this has anything to do with the rumored false flag conspiracy, or is it just Boeing being Boeing?
