Neat concept for a fight, but Vlad destroyed Dracula. Like, holy shit that was one-sided.

I'm surprised this is sorta framed as Dracula winning really [lol]

How many fights end in favour of the rapper with the last word in actually?

[up]Consensus is that clint eastwood defeat lee with is last line, in part because he was one of the most lowest punch even in the series.

And of course there is disney, but he didnt much won as just saying he own all that.

It's a lot like the last battle where the loser had the better delivery while the winner had more scathing disses. My favorite part was the end where it turned into Castlevania for a few seconds.

Kinda like Lecter vs Jack the ripper, I feel Lecter have better sticks againt Jack even if his deliver was good.

Fogo de Chรฃo is a Brazilian steakhouse chain. Like all, Brazilian steakhouses, Fogo de Chรฃo serves meat on huge skewers, hence Wlad's play of words ("put more meat on swords / than fogo de chรฃo"). The literal translation would be "Fire from the floor" (and Lloyd mildly misprnounces "Chรฃo" as "Chow" to fit the rhyming scheme. It's supposed to sound like Shan-uh with emphasis on the "Shan") but that's irrelevant.

Like everyone else I thought Vlad won handily but I didn't feel it was that one sided as Drac still got some good licks in ("Wow! I did not know that you could read! That's great...now let's see if you can bleed).

I felt it might have worked better if they had pitted Vlad against the Count Orlok take on Dracula, a more imposing one. The went for a Composite Character of Christopher Lee's Dracula (general appearance, hair, cape) and Bela Lugosi's (voice, accent, waistcoat) and of course, it ended up making him come across as a bit silly in comparison to Vlad being such a stone-cold motherfucker. Count Orlok is significantly more imposing in appearance in mannerisms (in both of his versions).

It'd also have been fun if they cycled through several different portrayals of Dracula as the verses went by. Maybe going reverse and starting with a Lee-esque Dracula and then in the second verse Count Orlok shows up.

Yeah, Vlad was a the most cold motherfucker chararter since stalin while Vlad looks.....weird and kind of a caricature, the efect end being similar to austin power vs bond.

You know, watching hilary vs trump, is a shame they arent doing a third time with trump considering all the shit he said on twitter like unmatch wisdom and all that is enoug amunition to bury him really.

I'd say it's worse, because Austin knew he was camp and reveled in it ("No one wants to sit through your gritty reality / People want a hero with a little personality") to the point many (me included) thought he won.

This Drac was trying to be serious, he just wasn't cutting the mustard.

Another concept they could have played with was Dracula's changing appearance from decrepit old to powerful young in the novel and Coppola film.

Honestly, while I think Vlad got this one in the bag, is anyone else a tad annoyed about some slight research errors?

For example, Dracula meaning "son of the devil" is actually relatively recent development - his nickname actually meant "son of the dragon", referring to his father Vlad Dracul (the dragon).

Not to mention that while they leant fully into the Historical Villain Upgrade (a lot of the stories regarding his bloodthirstiness were invented by groups whose power he had curtailed, like the Siebenbรผrgen Saxon merchant class), they could have brought up the fact that he's still a beloved national hero in Romania due to his anti-corruption policies in some way.

Eh, the general consensus from what I've seen is that Vlad was a monster no matter which way you slice it. The sources regarding his cruelty and monstrous acts are too varied and too well-documented to be fiction, and historians are fairly sure he still committed what amounted to indiscriminate war crimes via the whole "Putting everyone in a miles radius on a stake" business.

Even his fame as a national hero isn't based on denying his cruel acts of torture and slaughter, but portraying those acts as a Necessary Evil for the strengthening of Romanian central government against foreign threats. He's more a national icon of fascism than a national icon of righteousness in general.

This is a pretty solid concept (I wouldn't be surprised if they missed a few suggestions) but I'm not in love with the execution.

Loved that logo joke.

[up][up]While I dont said the otommants were good..because they were not, they were and empire, I have seen many history bluff going as him as sort of "he was the men we deserved" or something like that, which is very suspicious if you ask me.

Anyway "did you shapeshift into those lyrics? because they mist" was awsome.

[up][up][up] I'm not denying that he was cruel, but historians have noted that a lot of stories have been exaggerated because - again - he pissed off a lot of people. The Wallachian nobility, the Siebenbรผrgen Saxons, the king of Hungary...

[up] Vlad's also often been treated as a symbol of anti-corruption, with people urging him to return to put all the corrupt politicians and officials on stakes (and either conveniently ignoring the "burning beggars alive part" or treating it as part of "fighting corruption").

Not to mention that to at least some people in the extended Balkans region the Ottoman Empire is still a massive Berserk Button, so of course people would idolise the people who tried to fight them off. Another example of that: Skanderbeg of Albania.

[up]It also is the style, this remind me of freedy vs Sinatra were freedy more than mock sinatra(he did) he pop himself as the ultimate badass, that work(almost everyone agree Freedy blast him) but not here because...well, Vlad really got good line.

"did you shapeshift those line? because they mist" make me laugh as hell.

Is it normal for them to release just the track ahead of a new video? The audio for Joker v. Pennywise is on the ERB Central channel, but the main video hasn't dropped yet.

Yeah, it's happened for pretty much every battle for the past few seasons. It usually doesn't drop THIS early (Stevie Wonder vs Wonder Woman is another one that dropped about a week early). Battle should be dropping sometime this weekend.
