Apparently CN itself did NOT want to do this if I've heard right.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. The truth is, Infinity Train never really seemed to be well-liked by the Cartoon Network, Warner Bros., or HBO Max. When it aired on Cartoon Network for its first two "books", it got very little promotion, poor time-slots, and no reruns. The network did the bare minimum for it, and dumped it on HBO Max after the second "book". It wasn't treated any better there— still very little promotion, and it was cancelled in 2021 because it lacked a "child entry point".
One gets the impression that the company was never really invested in making Infinity Train a success, and wanted to wash their hands of it. Keep in mind that the four "books" we got were technically part of a single-season order, so the fact it ended after the fourth season is significant. Cartoon Network didn't really care for Infinity Train and basically left it to wither on the vine. They didn't actively support it. Once the initial four-"book" order was finished, they dumped the show at the first chance they got.

Let's get something straight here,no one at warner bros or cartoon networked wanted this, the CEO made the decision and they're now all dealing with the ramifications
they need to get rid of him fast and reverse course, but it might be too late for that.
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverBear in mind, Infinity Train apparently wasn't intended for Cartoon Network. Some stuff that's come out points to it being targeted as a streaming exclusive from the start...but HBO Max was delayed and it was relatively easy to slot it into the CN schedule.
Uh, take this with a grain of salt though, but some of this was floating around before the cancellation announcement.
Yeah, Infinity Train and OK KO are two CNS shows that we know of that were intended for streaming, but the amount of time it took for the merger (and subsequently, HBO Max) to get off the ground meant that Cartoon Network found themselves having to deal with both of the shows as cable entities. So to some extent, you could say that they existed in an odd, nebulous gray space that the executives didn't quite know what to do with, because who knew how long those shows would even be under their oversight anyway?

I agree, if I was Zaslav, I’d have tried run those suckers into ground. Not by making them a case of Franchise Zombie but by trying to get more people to watch them. Like reruns on cable for example
Aside from that, it’s been mentioned in other threads that Comcast is interested in buying WB Discovery which I’d take anyone as long as they know not to do what Zaslav did. Though considering Universal got the Mario movie rights, it would be cool to have a Mario cartoon done at CN if Comcast gets WB Discovery

Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameYou've edited that first paragraph a few times and I still don't understand it.
But yeah, in the other thread
in the other forum
we were talking about how some analysts have noticed that another deal/buyout might be on the horizon given the company's financial position. The structure of the merger makes it "immune" to another merger/acquisition until 2024, so Zaslav has at least that long to stabilize production and get things rolling. We currently have no real reason to expect NBC Universal to be the company that acquires WB, other than being in the strongest position to make the purchase given Disney's self-withdrawal.
Illinois police department sues Warner Bros Discovery
for WB lying about HBO Max's subscriber count prior to the merger.
Yeah this may as well happen.
And before anyone says anything, this has nothing to do with WBD removing shows and is solely about WB lying to shareholders.

Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Looking at that original intro, it seems they showed mostly Hanna-Barbera shows when they launched, with some Looney Tunes, Popeye and MGM cartoons peppered in.

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

I feel like the Occam's Razor explanation is that Infinity Train is just an Old Shame to them.
