I went over that in an earlier post but the short answer is, Disney isn't interested in those properties because they already have in-house equivalents to them— and, for the most part, are already far more successful with them. They don't need DC because they already have Marvel. They don't need any of WB's animated stuff because they have plenty of animation of their own. And MGM isn't a Disney subsidiary, it's owned by Amazon.

- Looney Tunes isn't undesirable by any means, but there's nothing that the brand really offers that they can't already do with Mickey Mouse and company. And while Warner Bros. is in the midst of re-strengthening it, the brand doesn't have anywhere near the pull that Disney characters have these days either.
- We talked about Harry Potter this morning and ultimately decided that if Universal's stake in the franchise didn't stop that, J.K. Rowling herself would. That said, it probably is the most valuable IP that Warner Bros. has right now next to Game of Thrones, and I stand by my belief that Disney would love to get both properties if they could.
- Hanna Barbara is just "but why" to me. Like, what would they get out of buying them? The only Hanna-Barbara properties that have any real power these days are Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones. And the latter is only because of cereal and vitamins.
- MGM is under Amazon now. Besides, Warner Bros. only really had the animation library, IIRC, and Disney wanting that would also a big "buy why?"
- DC Comics would be a decent get, but they don't need it when they already have Marvel Comics, which is doing... really well compared to DC, to say the least. Plus, having both DC Comics and Marvel Comics would give Disney sizeable control of the American comic book industry and an outright monopoly over the superhero genre, so I don't think Disney could buy them even if they wanted to.
EDIT: Warner Bros. still has the MGM animation library, but the point still stands. Why would Disney want any of it? What would they even do with it? Make more George and Junior shorts? A Red Hot Riding Hood series for Disney+?

TBH I’d rather have Apple, Microsoft, or even Nintendo buy WB. Even if for the latter they wouldn’t have much reason to buy

Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The Game...Maybe? NBCUniversal plus Warner Bros. would be the third and fourth biggest entertainment companies in the United States joining forces, which would mean they'd have to get antitrust approval for such a move. They'd benefit greatly if they could make a case for it. I think NBCUniversal would be able to afford it as well (WB's debt aside).

So anyone caught what I'm assuming is the Series Finale of Victor and Valentino last night?
Interesting news. Two never-aired episodes of Toonheads have just been found. They are:
- The Twelve Missing Hares
, with clips of the twelve Bugs Bunny cartoons that CN wouldn't air in the 2001 June Bugs marathon - which was supposed to feature every Bugs cartoon ever made.
- The Best of the Worst Cartoons Ever
, showcasing some of the real crap in the H-B and Ruby-Spears library. The "winner" of this competition is 1980's "Disco Droopy."
Infinity Train and OK KO soundtracks have been added back to music streaming sites
.
Huh. Maybe what they told the Infinity Train creator about this not being a tax writeoff was actually true.
Still, why'd they delete the shows' entire social media presence?
