I wonder if Robot Jones would still be as obscure as it is had it actually had that ending made and aired. It's dark, unexpected, and/or shocking endings like that that end up being talked about for years afterward and becoming infamous. (i.e. The Sopranos) The fact that Robot Jones would have been a kid's show ending in such a dark way would certainly have helped in that regard.
"Okay, yeah, I guess Ollie fits the goofy sidekick role, but being a princess doesn't mean I spontaneously sing about everything, 'kay?"Not to mention how an ending like that would've affected the perception of kid's shows and what you could do with them.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The CN City ads did feature those, but as mentions on billboards and stuff. The characters weren't actually featured.
I recently found out that Australia had original Cartoon Cartoon Fridays bumpers, which had different jokes than the American one. I'm not familiar with Australian culture but I have heard it's more okay with more risque jokes than America, but still... It's so weird hearing the Mayor talk about women and adult magazines.

Please post a link to this bumper.
I think the Him-Red Guy bumper I posted earlier was Australian in origin as well.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Search youtube and you'll find it
New theme music also a boxFound it. Choice quote:
- Mayor: "Only last week, Ms. Bellum, I saw your, uh, face on the cover of three magazines!"
- Ms. Bellum: "It has been quite an honor, sir, though I was not aware you read such publications."
- Mayor: "Only when I'm alone."
TMI, Mayor.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."They were able to commission new character animations/interactions for any properties they owned. For anime not so much. Would be a lot harder to work in a CN City like sequence.
Indeed.
And imagine if they were animated exclusively for the bumpers and were interacting with CN characters.

Seems VRV has picked up the Boomerang streaming service.

New theme music also a boxIn all the excitement about Mickey Mouse's 90th, we all missed that yesterday was also the 20th anniversary of the debut of The Powerpuff Girls.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."20 years... Fascinating. I wish good PPG merchandise still came out. I've always had a soft spot for Powerpuff Girls stuff. The 2016 cartoon just doesn't cut it.
Never, ever forget that despite the godawful reboot, the original cartoon is still brilliant, still clever, still utterly wonderful all these years later.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Yeah, 20 years of one of Cartoon Network's best shows.
Kids WB reused frames from all their shows, in contrast to CN.
Granted, this gave them more latitude with their promos.
Didnt know where to put this thread, so I figured i'd place it here. Now that both Regular Show and Adventure Time have finished up (two of the shows that arguably helped CN make a comeback), which show did you prefer? For me, the modern-day setting of RS helped make it more relatable (even with the monsters, demons, and assorted strangeness happening), and the jokes were funnier. I'd even argue it had at least some influence on Gravity Falls (which has a similar sense of humor and of course, also has the strangeness). While AT was excellent, it was just a well-done fantasy comedy and got way too caught up with trying to resolve all the hanging plot threads, and took itself a bit too seriously at times. That said, I did love Jake's snarkiness, Ice King's arc and redemption, the brilliant animation, and Marceline was one of the absolute best female characters in an animated show.

I've always hated Regular Show. It was never amusing to me.
Adventure Time was a lot, lot better. I admit, I didn't watch every episode and it mostly slipped off my radar after Finn lost his arm (but didn't it for most viewers?), but it was enjoyable. It also stands as a very nostalgic thing for me. It was one of the last major cartoons to come out during my early teen years and so, seeing the final episode, was like the end of childhood. Adventure Time lasted a long time for something that was Screwed by the Network.

I honestly have never watched Regular Show so I have no idea what's about,I'm more familiar with adventure time which I liked
New theme music also a boxI always preferred Regular Show to Adventure Time, mostly because I found its plots and characters more interesting and easier to follow and, just generally speaking it's more my cup of tea than Adventure Time is. Not that I actually dislike Adventure Time or anything, I just found myself enjoying Regular Show more.

Sorry to say this but Robot Jones world was already rotten and vile. So its only fitting that it ends that way.
