Wow, I didn't know we had a topic on them.

I don't trust Watch Mojo's lists because almost all their lists are popularity based or created for casual viewing audiences, instead of being based in fact. Their "Top 10 Most Powerful Anime Characters Of All Time" list is the best example of their clickbait nature I can remember recently.

10: Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star)

9: Alucard (Hellsing Ultimate)

8: Shanks (One Piece)

7: Ichiryuu (Toriko)

6: Dr Jackal (Get Backers anime)

5: Father (FMA:B)

4: Aizen (Bleach)

3: Pegasus Seiya (Saint Seiya)

2: Saitama (One Punch Man)

1: Goku (Dragon Ball)

Sure they listed some powerful characters, but only from manga and anime that became popular to the general public . And even if this is meant to be a "most overpowered in relation to their own universe" sort of list, half of the characters aren't even the strongest being in their own series so it doesn't really work on that level.

So, um... you guys might want to take a look at Watch Mojo's Youtube channel, because... something strange is going on.

Ok that was kind of a dick move to hack their account and misnaming every video under their name. Even if you don't like the channel, hacking isn't the answer.

I like how this guy gets access to their entire account and all they do is change the titles on all of their videos.

I feel like that's a trope....

I can't help but think that WatchMojo is biased with their Top 10s half the time (especially the ones with whats-her-name). Does anyone else agree with me?

Biased towards/against what, exactly?

[up][up] Well it's easy to be biased when you make top 10 and don't actually give a REASON for anything being where it is on the list.

The bias in this case is towards popularity over accuracy. The video I posted earlier on this page is a good example of that.

Again. What accuracy? They never justify why something is on what rank. Why X is on rank 2, and y at rank 3, and not the opposite.

Watchmojo is quite literally the most hollow type of list you can have outside of a mere bullet list of names with nothing else.

What about some useful things to learn when travelling to another country? Watch Mojo makes videos every day. Most of them at least have to do with fiction, sometimes even pages on this site like the one that just came out, Top 10 Movies that Surprisingly Pass the Bechdel Test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_Vzl_8omgY It is good to bring attention to the test but the goal isn't to make them surprisingly passing.

Sooooo... are their lists always full of Critical Research Failure?

Because their "Top 10 Gundam" list was... really not good. I mean, they begin the list by saying "only Gundams will be counted. Non-Gundam mobile suits do not count" and then immediately list the Turn X, a non-Gundam mobile suit. I mean, that's a tough distinction, but immediately contradicting themselves is kind of impressive. In a later entry, they use the Shining and Burning Gundams interchangeably despite being separate units. When they list the Destiny Gundam as an honorable mention (this is the title mobile suit from a series) they show the Impulse.

But their number 1... oh that number 1. Okay, first off. I know this is opinion-based and that's okay. But claiming Wing Gundam Zero is "by far the most iconic Gundam ever created" is neither opinion nor is it remotely true. And this is speaking as someone who loves Wing Zero. There's also the little quibble that they don't mention the ZERO System, easily the most unique feature of the suit, but that's something that only someone who has seen Gundam Wing would know or care about.

But the worst part is... they never once show Wing Zero. All the footage they use is of Wing Gundam, a completely different unit. They keep talking about the Twin Buster Rifles and yet they show video of a unit that only has one gun. That didn't clue anyone into a problem?!? That's... really goddamn bad.
