This is deep into "nobody's right" territory, given how India has repeatedly failed to live up to its guarantees of religious pluralism with regard to the Sikhs, and this has been going on since at least Indira Gandhi.
Still, as has been mentioned, I'm not shedding any tears for the hatemongers. Just wondering who's going to confiscate Modi's property?

If the Indian govt turns out to have links with regards to both this and the assassination of Nijjar, they sure must be getting really bold and unhinged. Wonder if they are trying to milk their temporary importance with regards to containing China's threat for all its worth, in such a case. It would be pretty short term stupidity though, if that is the case after all, as China won't be a threat to the western order forever, and even if they remain so for a long time, there is going to be a limit to how far they can go before being seen as more trouble than its worth. Then again if Modi is gone by that time, his legacy would likely be preserved for his fanbase since as far as the nationalists would be concerned, it would be the then leader's "weakness" that would be to blame (while hypocritically claiming Nehru's legacy to be "tainting" India forever).
If true, I am assuming the vitriol from Sri Lanka has to do with Trudeau's remark in May regarding the Tamil genocide remembrance day
and not just being cozy with India.
The Indian parliament has passed a bill that guarantees a third of seats for women in the lower house of parliament and state assemblies. But the country is a long way away from seeing more women elected to its legislatures soon since it will be implemented only after India completes the next census and an exercise to redraw the boundaries of constituencies - the complicated processes are expected to take several years.
Still a step in the right direction I think even if the effect will take time.

"substantiated allegations"?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNDP leader Jagmeet Singh made a speech to pay tribute to Indians who settled in India to get away from being oppressed.
He doesn't mince words with pointing the finger at Modi for encouraging human rights violations.
And pro-Modi bots are filling up the YT video comments.
Supposedly Indian media's reporting that two Punjabi gangsters, Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, masterminded Gill's murder in Winnipeg. Make sure to take lots of salt with ya.

I heard Lawrence Bishnoi was also accused of killing a Punjabi rapper turned congress politician last year

Seems that India's stance towards Canada is not that heated anymore. Bob Rae, Canadian ambassador to the UN was told to meet with Ruchira Kamboj, Indian ambassador to the UN, aside and mentioned that it's still possible for New Delhi and Ottawa to get their heads up and look into Nijjar's death.
A brief Twitter thread on the guy assassinated
. Apparently even though the complaints go back almost a decade, the pertinent authorities in Canada have always "declined to comment".
There's new info on a video that showed Nijjar moments before he died.

WP suggests that Nijjar's assassination was likely done by pros.
India tells Canada to withdraw dozens of diplomatic staff
- but the thing that caught my eye was:
In earlier meetings, India had even urged Canada to halt the inquiry [into the murder], according to people familiar with the case.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIn a talk in California, ASIO Chief Mike Burgess says that he has no reason to dispute claims that New Delhi may have a hand in killing Nijjar.
The FBI led the way to stop a plot (in the making) to take down an American Sikh named Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Indian diplomats were "warned" after Pannun was safe from the supposed attack.
This came after the NIA filed charges against him for making terrorist threats against Air India.

Moneycontrol mentions that India's downplaying the supposed attempt on Pannun, considering the growing partnership with India and the US.
The Intercept mentions (take with some salt) that the Pakistani Intelligence Bureau warned that RAW ran teams to take out pro-Sikh figures overseas. But it does kind of jives with some reports on other Sikh figures in North America/Europe who have been killed. There were some in Pakistan IIRC who got taken out.
Wouldn't Pakistan's govt and press have more incentive to bring up the killings if they have Indian links? As the article states, it has not been shy from periodically accusing India of backing militant groups in Pakistan, why they would be silent over said suspected killings of militants wanted by India?

After Nijjar, properties of Khalistani extremist who threatened Hindus in Canada seized. National Investigation Agency confiscated properties of pro-Khalistan extremist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in Chandigarh and Amritsar, days after his online hate video surfaced threatening Canadian Hindus to leave the country
