A video going over the calculations of an attempt to create a 500 meter tsunami towards the UK and Ireland using Russia's 100 megatin Posideon nuclear warhead.

Result? Still considerable damage in certain spots, but a much smaller tsunami and a ton of locations being protected by the highlands.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to target areas with those giga landslides that could trigger a tsunami?

Honestly, if you are going to threaten using nukes, just hit the city with a direct hit.

Poseidon is another Russian "uber weapon" that is more of a propaganda tool than it is useful. Hardly does anything more for the MAD or nuclear deterrence than conventional ICB Ms do and certainly the costs of making a 100 Mt yield warhead and a long range autonomous torpedo is higher than an ICBM missile.

On top missiles certainly having less failure points.

This is just another Russian alleged super weapon they can't afford, both to use and make in significant numbers, that is thrown out every time Putin feels little. Which is often.

Part-time Kazakh model Valeria Baigascina is using her company to help Russian get away from sanctions.

She denied allegations of sanctions busting, saying that the company was sold back in May.

NEXTRA reported that around a 1,000 malls are on the verge of being bankrupt.

This crisis stems from regular and sharp increases in the key interest rate by the Central Bank of Russia, as revealed by Pavel Lyulin, Vice President of the Union of Shopping Centers.

According to Lyulin, the recent hike in the key interest rate has led many banks to inform mall owners that the cost of their existing loans will soon rise significantly. On top of that, landlords are exiting the market en masse, and tax burdens are increasing.

Maybe he was sharing captagon recipes with Putin, as friends do.

One day, we will read his name in the news and cheer.

You know a “special military operation” is going well when you have to raid your own nightclubs for cannon fodder.

Nah, that is related to “gay propaganda” laws. If some are conscripted, it is just as quick punishment, same as illegal immigrant raids.

Well, they are “anti-LGBT propaganda” laws, not “anti-LGBT” laws. So, being gay is beside the point. In any case, there are too few of these arrests and raids to serve as conscription aid.

"Anti-LGBT propaganda" laws are effectively "Anti-LGBT" laws. They call it propaganda just to make it less obvious that this is what they're doing.

Well, in some (many) ways. But their letter or even intent is not to arrest LGBT people. “Just” to silence them and their supporters. For those specific raids the “anti-gay propaganda” laws are probably just used as justification to crack down on “immorality”. The last notable ones a year ago were definitely of that sort.

Which still shows how desperate the Russian regime is.

Both cracking down on night clubs using "morality" laws and for the men the "prison or front" choice isn't anything showing a stable country or society.

This is only shows how much insecurity the average Russian is subjected to, you can be arrested for phony charges and you can be conscripted as a sentence.

And being conscripted isn't a quick punishment, well unless you account that they will soon be dead in the front.
