After watching some Home Movies , Metalocalypse by Brendon Small and getting Rock Smith I've fallen in love with Death metal. So yeah..anyone know of any currently running bands that got that Dethklok feel to 'em?

Wouldn't classify Dethklok as death metal but if you want tongue in cheek metal, Zimmers Hole might be your thing.

@Stillbirth

Heavy Metal/Death Metal something similar to Dethklok's style.

Dark Tranquility, In Flames and At The Gates of Gothenburg, Sweden are three of the pioneering bands in the melodeath genre, and most popular American metal from the last 10 years takes some influence from them (especially metalcore). You can consult their Last.FM pages to get an idea of their most popular/accessible songs.

As for something that sounds a bit similar to Dethklok, their sound sometimes gets compared to Amon Amarth.

^^

I was thinking of downloading some Amon Amarath. Their beat definitely to me liking. Was thinking of Slayer but dislike the hypocritical factor of one of the members and their music message.

I'm looking over Rocksmith's set, and the heaviest stuff I can find is Mastodon, Lamb of God and Slayer (sludge, groove and thrash respectively). If you'd like to try some generally heavier music, Level 8 and 9 on the Moh's Scale should be a good place to start.

Slayer have more fantastical themes in certain songs, usually regarding hell and damnation. If that's still an issue in some way, try Testament.

Because I installed a new HD into my PS 3 I have to start alllllllllllll over again with the guitar tuning on Rock Smith. Not that I mind though since I got the hang of it on the same day which I got it. It's been a while since I picked up my guitar too. During my days off from work I'll probably do some Rock smith'ing.

My old high-school garage band had basically the same collective IQ going on. (Not sure if that counts.)
