Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Ah, Dionysus. The youngest Olympian conceived by Zeus and the mortal woman Semele, Hera would trick Semele into getting Zeus to reveal his true godly form, turning her to ash. The fetus lived, and Zeus stitched him into his thigh so he'd finish developing. The demigod would be raised away from Mt Olympus, possibly by Zeus' mom Rhea. During his time among mortals he'd grow to like them, and as a god he and his Roman form Bacchus were popular among outsider and marginalized groups as he represented liberation from societal norms. Dionysus is best known as a god of wine, and alcohol in general. However he's also a god of madness, and liberation in its many forms.
  • While the Greek pantheon is prone to Multiple-Choice Past because of different writers across centuries, Dionysus may have the most varied backstories of them all. Visually he's normally seen as a Pretty Boy who toured the world, but there are tales of a scarier Dionysus with horns and a beard. "Hellenic Dionysus" takes precedent in his pantheonic appearances, which is why despite Zeus' attempts to placate the two Dionysus has nothing but hatred for Hera for causing his mother's death and later driving him mad. As for his other backstories?
    • An older legend retained by the Orphic mysteries says he was born from either Zeus and Demeter, or Zeus and Persephone. Under orders by Hera he would be torn apart by the Titans, but his heart was saved and reborn either through Zeus' thigh again or through Semele swallowing it. The death and rebirth theme may reference how wine is from grapes crushed and fermented into something new. This news has only soured Persephone and Zeus' relationship since while it makes Dionysus her son in a sense, it also makes Zeus even worse. In his attempt to dispel such claims Zeus pointed out the Orphic cults would conflate him with Hades, so Dionysus may have originally been Hades and Persephone's son.
    • Zeus pointed to Dionysus' forgotten and scarier chthonic aspects, and noted that Dionysus is close enough to Zagreus they may have been the same guy; according to some legend, Zagreus was a son of Persephone and Hades/Zeus who was torn apart by the Titans. The tragedian Aeschylus went further and theorizes Zagreus may be Hades. In search for the truth, Dionysus admitted he'd be spreading lies in the mortal world to confuse the two. He just didn't anticipate it becoming popular. The Trope Pantheon Zagreus is a different person and good friend of Dionysus.
    • Most know his Roman name is Bacchus, and initially this was the name he went by in the Trope Pantheon. Zeus wanted him to change it back since it was getting confusing keeping track of his kids... more confusing, that is. Dionysus is also conflated with Liber, a more Roman-specific god of viticulture. The Eleusinian Mysteries further complicated things by conflating him with Iacchus, a minor deity who's the son or husband of Demeter. At this point nobody blamed Zeus for his attempt to streamline Dionysus, by changing his trope from Booze-Based Buff to the more universal "God of Wine".
    • Among his family, he's especially close to his Maiden Aunt Hestia and his currently unascended grandmother Rhea. The latter helped raise him (maybe) from Hera's wrath, thanks to Hermes. The former is thought to have given up her seat in Mt Olympus for him. Dionysus is also pretty chill with Hercules, who's similar to him in being a demigod that was eventually elevated into full-fledged divinity and have dealt with curses of madness from their Wicked Stepmother. As for the rest of his family, Dionysus tends to do his own thing and doesn't have favorites. He doesn't know why Friedrich Nietzsche thought that him and Apollo are rivals.
  • Compared to other Greek gods he and Diana barely interact. She thought they did, but it was revealed "Dio" Dionysus was a fake. After meeting the real Dionysus she requested him to give some answers to her conflicting backstories, but he drunkenly laughed "HAH! Diana, I can't keep my own backstory straight! Are we half-siblings, are you my great-niece or are we anything? Even dad can't keep it straight". As he's too busy Walking the Earth or schmoozing and boozing he rarely helps out, but he does wish her well. Right now, he's more interested in getting to know other pantheons.
    • He was initially terrified of Sekhment upon seeing how much of an Omnicidal Maniac Blood Knight she could be, however learned she could be calmed by copious amount of alcohol disguised as lust. Her father Ra quickly caught on to Dionysus' skills and has requested he make both niche fancy Greek wine his fellow deities don't get to have often for a special occasion, and dark red wine to bamboozle his daughter. Dionysus is still wary of Sekhment, but he was pleasantly surprised to learn of her other personality Hathor. She's similar in her role to the wine god, and the two love to party, booze and schmooze together. Their dads tried beat their own kids at their game, but left passed out in their own vomit.
    • Dionysus and Thor once got into a bar brawl over what's the better alcoholic drink: mead, or grape wine. His trickery and powers of intoxication went against Thor's strength and summoning the thunder, and Thor ultimately came out on top. Zeus told his son there was no shame in losing against Thor, as he's perhaps Zeus' biggest rival. Dionysus would later go to visit some underworld deities. He seems to get along with Ereshkigal as she's somewhat understanding of the quest he made to rescue his mom from the underworld, and the old stories of his chthonic aspects and rebirth. While he couldn't reach out to Izanami, he does feel bad for her state and Death by Childbirth as it reminds him of the fate of his mother Semele.
  • A loud rumble was heard as Pinkie Pie and the rest of the welcoming committee witnessed a deluge of wine flooded the entire entry area and the greeters were swept away. Very bad drunken singing was then heard as the Greek god of wine and revelry arrived, to the utter rage of killjoys like Dolores Umbridge and the Trunchball, and the roaring of celebration by the Hall of Alcohol. When he arrived Kratos wanted to know where he was during his entanglement with the Olympians. Dionysus simply replied he was off touring in Southeast Asia and China to sample their local delights. He informed Kratos he has no intention to fight and because of his own past he feels bad for what happened to his family, but he'd prefer they keep far away from one another for obvious reasons.
  • Dionysus isn't allowed to pilot anything in the House of Travel because the breathalyzer got blood-alcohol results that no human on record has survived. He's not allowed near Tony Stark either, due to being a recovering alcoholic.. However he's used to simply Walking the Earth, so he took losing his license with stride. He's considered the god of the Hall of Alcohol, fermenting whatever grapes he's not snacking on. Shuckle became his partner because the Pokemon is pretty good at fermenting berries, and when Zeus forces him to be sober he at least as a nice non-alcoholic Berry Juice. He tends to get into many drinking matches with several gods. However, the one god he considers an equal is Dr. Fei-Hung, as he once visited the Drunken Master in an earthly guise and found he could keep up with him in the drinking category. Bacchus places his friendship with the Tenth Tiger as with his master, Solinus.
  • Wine officionados can visit as much as they want, however he doesn't care for any wine snobbery: he's lived for millennia and been all around the world, so he can't truly pick a favorite and feels fighting on the best wine is pointless. Despite pretty much being the opposite to him in personality, Anton Ego appreciates him for his godly role in wine. Hannibal Lecter is another fan of Dionysus even if he falls more into the "snob" side of Slobs Versus Snobs debate. While classy, he's still a Serial Killer and cannibal, so the wine god would rather not get involved. It's generally advised not to get in a drinking contest with Dionysus either...but this hasn't stopped some from trying and giving him a fair challenge. The Demoman is impressive enough that his body has adapted to fermenting alcohol from his own bone marrow and becoming dependent on it. Kaido was also interested in fighting Dionysus, and much to his disappointment he can't even kill himself with sake. And then there's Bender, who's powered by booze and starts acting drunk when he doesn't drink. Dionysus narrowly defeated him in a drinking contest, but only because Bender had drunk so much the liquor burst out of his chassis.
  • He is a very welcome deity at the House of Love and Affection as one sip of his legendary, self-brewed Wine is able to disinhibit even the most steadfast of heart and soul. He's respected by the more sober deities due to his strong marriage and dedication to his wife Ariadne. Yes he still sleeps around, but she doesn't have a problem with it and the one time he considered loving another he swiftly reconsidered it. Helping his reputation is he lacks his father's bad habits: the only exception was because he was maddened by lust by one of Eros' arrows. He's not proud of it and was distraught over it causing a suicide. Dionysus also isn't proud of not being careful enough giving King Midas a boon, though he made up for that for telling him how to cure the Midas Touch he gave him. Said king would rather not hang out with Dionysus after all that.
  • A proud Momma's Boy, and if you insult her your ass is grass. Dionysus outright went to the Underworld in order to rescue his mother Semele and bring her to Mt. Olympus. Naturally he is repulsed by Ragyo Kiryuin, who he feels is the worst mother to ever exist. He doesn't think much of a bad father like Tywin either, though he'll begrudgingly admit his family serves great wine and it's not like his own dad is much better....especially in Orphic myths. Dionysus and Tyrion are on much better terms, but mainly as drinking buddies since the wine god couldn't care at al about politics. Sometimes he'll, say, give advice to the likes of Emperor Claus, but he's mainly in with him on the hedonism and enjoyment of life.
  • He already had some experience with what is between and beyond life and death; his many origin stories involve death and rebirth on some capacity. Unfortunately as he is a dying and rising god, he is one of the very few literal deities that is valid for Nekron to turn into a Black Lantern should he get an emotional tether. His defiance of the alleged permanence of death is why he's on Dhuum's hitlist as well. His uncle Hades regards the former as insane and the latter as childish, and advised his nephew on a) how to avoid them and b) how to avoid being tricked by his imposter.
  • Dionysus couldn't care for Lucifer's social darwinist practices, however he is a supporter of the Grand United Alliance of Chaos in the fact they support humanity and liberation from restrictions. One of the major appeals the Greek god has is allowing his followers personal freedom and revelry away from societal norms, though usually in a "huge party" type. He loves hanging out with Pinkie Pie and The Ghost of Christmas Present, however sometimes his liberating chaos is too much for them. He's either a strong supporter of the LOL Ranger group or being too thoughtless for their standards, but at least he's not outright cruel like the GUAE Trollkaiger. Naturally he's scorned by authortarians and tyrants for what he represents, to which Dionysus snidely replied "what are you, the "No Fun Allowed" club?". The authoritarian Augustus is more sensible as Bacchus was a sacred deity for him, but he's not a fan of hedonism and the wine god promotes that. Anna Nishikinomiya doesn't like Dionysus either for his lewdness and defiance of political correctness. He feels she's not making a good argument for being PC.
  • Harass him and he'll drive you mad. Don't try to deny his divinity. He and the Emperor of Mankind are on pretty bad terms due to his militant atheism, and his beliefs that Dionysus' Mad God personality is a bit too close to the forces of Chaos. While they are enemies, the Emperor does begrudgingly admit Dionysus is a god who actually values humanity and doesn't act in smug superiority even when he reacts poorly to his divinity being denied. Dionysus still thinks the Emperor is a massive killjoy, of course. He's at least not as bad about it as YHVH, who the drunken deity has called "His Almighty No Fun Allowed". On YHVH's end, He only sees Dionysus as a nuisance to His aquisition of power.
  • For the love of Zeus, don't kill people at a party. Sure Dionysus' parties might get a bit rowdy but to give someone their clear trust only to violate Sacred Hospitality like Walder Frey did pisses him off as much as his father. On the other side of things, don't count of Dionysus for your political movements. He likes the style of Anarky and the Hall of Rebellion and Revolution due to their principles and often being in the outsider group, but he's not focused enough to get too invested. Finally, he still has limits on what he sees as fun; Wyald's "enjoyment and excitement" sounded fun on paper, but in practice it was pure psychopathy. He doesn't like the hedonistic Nobuyuki Sugou either for being a lecherous creepy Slimeball. And don't even get him started on Junko Enoshima's despair fetish. It's such a paradox and so wrong to Dionysus he briefly sobered up just to comprehend it.
  • A god of madness, mainly of "liberating and debauched revelry" kind of the Mad Hatter. He's decisively not of the "use madness an excuse to be a nihilistic sociopath" kind that the Joker and Kefka preach. Being a Greek god all Joker venom gave him was a temporary clown face. Dionysus is not a fan of the Demogorgon either. The madness-bringer immediately called Dionysus out as a hypocrite since he punishes mortals who displease him with insanity, only for Dionysus to point out "yes, but I'm not out to also destroy everything out of some solipstic entitlement". At the very least, Dionysus will admit the Demogorgon cares for his mistress.
  • Gets along with Harley Quinn. It's partly sympathy due to his distaste towards the Joker, but also partly because while many of his male family members are misogynistic to varied degrees he gets along remarkably well with women. And Harley Quinn's kind of liberated madness is right up his alley. Pamela Isley was initially a bit wary of what he might be doing, however he said that he was interested in her powers over plants and as a gesture of good will summoned a bunch of ivy and grapevine; they were sacred plants to him, after all. He mentioned he once dealt with pirates who kidnapped him through a mass outgrowth of plants. However he doesn't have anything against the Hall of Piracy itself, which was helped by their "self-appointed patron god" the Flying Spaghetti Monster being really fun to be with and makes good beer on the occasion when wine is getting a bit too samey.

  • Hephaestus is seen among his peers as a Loser Deity. Lame legs, The Grotesque out of The Beautiful Elite and constantly cheated on by his wife. However he is not incompetent. The son of Zeus and Hera, Hephaestus is The Blacksmith of the gods, crafting incredible weapons and other metal works to benefit divinity and mortal alike. He's among the smartest in his family, and one of the more responsible with barely any Jerkass Gods moments. In Ancient Greece and later Rome under the name of Vulcan, he was still valued to those with the same or similar vocations.
  • Hephaestus isn't an instigator of conflict within his Big, Screwed-Up Family, but a victim. While some say he was simply born lame, others say that either Zeus threw him off Mt Olympus in a row with Hera, or Hera threw him off for being The Grotesque. He eventually got his revenge on the latter by setting a trap on her new throne, and the two were forced to hash out their differences. Ultimately Hera has come to appreciate him, and while Zeus is more of a Jerkass to him he still values his son. It's very much a dutiful son situation. He's got less issues with his foster mom (or at least one of them) Thetis, and is chill with her kid Achilles as he helped make weapons for him. How he feels about other Greek gods varies.
    • The marriage between him and Aphrodite wasn't something they wanted, but arranged by Zeus because he wanted to stop the gods from fighting over her. This worked, but she still bedded anyone but her husband. Especially his brother Ares. People have called Hephaestus a hypocrite as he had his own affairs, but he defended himself by saying it was less about her being unfaithful and more being humiliated with her unfaithfulness. He eventually divorced her (depending on the myth) and married Aglaea. She says he was inattentive but admits both of them were unhappy, and they prefer to keep their distance. Related to the adultery, Hephaestus and Helios are on good terms because he was the one who caught her with Ares and warned him of it so he could set up a trap for a "point and laugh cheater revenge".
    • Hephaestus doesn't want to antagonize his former wife, however he absolutely wants to antagonize Ares. He was the one who humiliated him the most after all, and Ares' personality isn't doing their relationship any favors. This resentment is even greater than how he feels towards Mt Olympus' mortal foes, Cronus and Typhon. The latter is imprisoned in Mt. Etna, which happens to be his workplace, so Zeus feels he should really be more worried about Typhon than his douchebag brother. Said "douchebag brother" line only led to Ares being angry at his full brother more as Zeus still likes him the least, even compared to Hephaestus.
    • Though he tries not to be a dick, he has a major sore spot with Athena; he had tried to assault her after thinking she was up for a relationship. This failed but the "godly release" fell on the ground and out emerged the half-snake Erichthonius, an early leader of Athens. It's the only time he pulled this kind of stunt but he admits it was a major dick move of his and the two have some trouble working with each other afterwards. Athena can thank him for cutting Zeus' head open so she could be born though, which may have been achieved with time travel if Hera wanted to prove after Athena was born she could create Hephaestus on her own... or Prometheus did the head-cutting.
    • Despite wanting to start over, some things just can't be forgotten. Forging one of his greatest weapons in all reality, Hephaestus was prepared to strike down Kratos for sins past. However, upon confronting the God of War, Hephaestus saw genuine sadness and guilt in Kratos' eyes over their history. With the fight taken out of him, he destroyed his tool of vengeance. Even through soundproof walls of the forge, gods could swear they heard Hephaestus sobbing over his lost daughter. Despite killing him so he may use his dear Pandora to access Pandora's Box, Kratos shows no enmity towards Hephaestus as he did what any good father should do. And though most of Hephaestus' family may call Kratos a monster, he only hopes tragedy doesn't repeat itself with Atreus. Still, despite some mutual respect they've refused to talk to each other afterwards.
    • On a lighter note, he and his uncle Hades have been getting along recently. Hephaestus initially felt Kratos gave him what he deserved, however he began to realize his "darker nature" was a consequence of mortals' grievance and misunderstanding. And of course, an imposter Hades worsening his reputation. After getting to seriously talk, Hephaestus has come to like his uncle for his dedication to his work and no-nonsense behavior, unlike a lot of the family drama he deals with. Helping their relationship was Hestia, the elder deity of fire who everyone loves. Hephaestus is also on relatively good terms with his demigod son Leo Valdez due to his heroism and sharing his clever personality. However they're somewhat estranged since he's pretty introverted and busy with his work.
    • Hephaestus has made many useful tools for heroes and gods: Eros' arrow, the Aegis shield his dad and sister use and Heracles' bronze clappers are just some. He also crafts new thunderbolts, based off the original design the original cyclops gave to Zeus during the Titanomachy. The three are co-workers in Mt Etna. Recently they suggested the idea of devising a more attractive form, which he achieved...but became a woman as a result. He/she got the use of his legs back too, but loses an eye in the trade-off. Afterwards he could be heard musing "I've gotta ask Quetzacoatl what's with Japan and their gender flips anyway?"
  • Temperatures suddenly spiked within the House of Craft to the point that gods began to fear the walls would soon melt. When the source of this intense heat was discovered, the ringing of a hammer against metal greeted gatherers who found Hephaestus diligently working on one of his many marvels. For he is a God of Fire, and the term "volcano" is even derived from his Roman name Vulcan. Working on Mt.Etna and making sure Typhon doesn't cause trouble, he naturally has a connection to both the Halls of Fire and Heat (where his aunt Hestia lives) and Earth and Rock. He initially tried to work with SCP-4338 on an exercise routine, but he was too lazy and belligerent so Hephaestus had to leave him.
  • Hephaestus is one of the more introverted members of his family, as he's busy with work and making sacred metal work. With the expansive Trope Pantheon he's even more busy making stuff for the House of Weapons, Machinery and Technology to use. He's sometimes employed both Mr Meeseeks and Mr Deeds to help for the increased payload because of their dedication to achieving their goal...and he's smart enough to avoid Mr Meeseeks from pulling a Murder Is the Best Solution by proper wording. Centuries before humans, Hephaestus was making automatons to aid him. He quickly became friends with another blacksmith god who also happens to be a machine: Autochthon. The latter suffered a lot of bullying from his peers due to his own disabilities, so he sees a lot of himself in the blacksmith god.
  • Has a Friendly Rivalry with Dyntos and Rodin. Despite being seen as a Loser Deity Hephaestus takes great pride in his work, which he excels at. However unlike his more immature relatives he can easily put his pride aside to work with and admire the fellow divine blacksmiths, and even work with them to complete especially hard commissions. One more recent commission was a lightning bolt that could be wielded by a mortal, and said mortal was Benjamin Franklin; a fellow inventor naturally wants to study Hephaestus' craft. Hephaestus was surprised that Zeus didn't veto this for "trivializing lightning" and asked him what's up. Zeus admitted "I mean it does, but I still kind of like the guy. Three guesses why". Hephaestus also admits to liking Benjamin Franklin, but mainly because of his brilliant knack for inventing. That said, he also likes him for much of the same reason Zeus does.
  • Because of Typhon's own ascension into the Trope Pantheon Zeus has severely admonished him for his breach in security and demanded he serve the forces of good more hands-on. Instead of questioning why Zeus would care about "good", Hephaestus knew as an ally of Greek heroes, Zeus' orders were wise and set to make amends for Typhon's escape. The primary forces of evil he's trying to stop are Sauron and the Factory. The former Hephaestus sees as a Foil: a perfectionist of sorts and a builder in his own right, but let his inner darkness pervert his creative force to tyranny. As for The Factory, they pervert everything the blacksmith god stands for.
  • If you're an inventor or mechanic, Hephaestus will like you, even if it's just a little bit. He's got a soft spot for Dexter and the KND; he really likes the innovative Bamboo Technology the latter use and he believes that if the Ancient Greeks had their skill in it, we would be talking about the Grecian Empire and not the Roman Empire. As for the former, they're introvert genius inventors so they found they have a fair bit to talk about. Other friends of Hephaestus due to their skills at making stuff and/or mechanic skills are Winry Rockbell and Phineas and Ferb. On the flip side while he does admire their skills, with his more active role in heroism due to Zeus' decrees, Dr Eggman and Wily have become enemies. They made the first move by pulling a heist of his factory, and are interested in somehow making Hephaestus help their schemes. On the bright side, neither make any fun of him.
  • An inventor and by all accounts a compassionate parent, he is naturally disgusted by Shou Tucker; the "scientist" is the worst kind of pathetic, and when you combine what he's done to kindred with overwhelming hubris, you have Hephaestus' favorite Cosmic Plaything. The "plaything" is also good stress relief for him after being utterly impotent to face off against the monstrous lava dragon Gohma Vlitra, who's heavily connected to all things volcanic for obvious reasons. He'd wondered if Gaea had spawned yet another monster with Tartarus as part of a revenge scheme, but she flat-out denied this as even she thinks Gohma Vlitra is a freak.
  • One of the things he did before being prompted by Zeus was lending his aid with a Persona for Tatsuya Suou under the name 'Vulcanus'. Eventually he left the position for Apollo. After thinking about it, Hephaestus has decided to lend his help to Luigi, as he naturally sides with the underdog. Luigi is glad, but he feels a bit bad since Hephaestus' relationship with his brother and family is way worse than his own. Guts, who managed to have an even worse background than Hephaestus but grew into a badass, was an Anti-Hero that Hephaestus chose to help by enhancing his Dragonslayer and figure out how to lessen the negative effects of the Berserker Armor. Guts slyly wondered if this has anything to do with him also being handicapped, but Hephaestus denied this and simply said "I admire your will and drive struggler; it's an inspiration".
  • By a chance meeting with the reincarnated hero, Hephaestus asked Link if he might inspect the Master Sword. Link reluctantly let the Smith hold his sword, which he held close to his ear. With a smile, he returned the Blade of Evil's Bane and complimented that it was the most loyal sword he'd ever held. "She knows her master better than any other". He left the god a little confused as they parted ways. It was a better interaction than a certain Gilgamesh: he's grown more than a little annoyed and has taken to building fortifications to keep Gilgamesh and his demands for the Excalibur away. Seeing all this, Akainu tried to get Hephaestus' aid to help enforce absolute justice against pirates. Akainu isn't too mad about not getting a response, but mainly because Hephaestus didn't bother to say why; he's pretty put-off by Akainu's personality for obvious reasons.
  • Recently Hephaestus was able to meet his Greek herald Sophitia as an equal, and the two spoke for a length of time. Hearing firsthand accounts of the malicious Soul Edge, the godly blacksmith has started drawing plans for a proper weapon to fell the cursed blade. Not to worry, he's also heard about the mistake about the creation of its "counter" Soul Calibur and how it became another threatening weapon to all creation with its excessive obsession on "Orde", so he's making sure his new weapon doesn't commit the same mistake. Another topic brought up was Rothion, Hephaestus' avatar who forged Sophitia's equipment. Knowing that only a mortal he truly respected could have such an honor, it was an unpleasant surprise to see how unnecessarily hated the man was to mortals.
  • Because of his past abuse, Ares opposes the Child Abuse Supporters on principle. Ares considered him a hypocrite for this; just like their mother he punished his step-daughter/Ares' bio-daughter Harmonia with a cursed necklace on her wedding day for representing Aphrodite's adultery. While Hephaestus admits this, he still agrees with Ares the Child Abuse Supporters are despicable and the one thing he actually likes about Ares is he's a great dad. The past business with Harmonia is partly why he wants to support the Heroic Protectors of Family: he does not want his or his family's dysfunctions to be emulated or surpassed in anyone else.
  • His claim of having moved past Aphrodite has been put under some scrutiny as of late due to his clear opposition towards Inanna. The similarities between the two are obvious, however Inanna is historically a lot more spiteful when spurned compared to Hephaestus' ex. She isn't interested in him, and hates that he projects his own frustrations of Aphrodite onto her. She attempted to pacify him by revealing despite her affairs, emotionally she only truly loved him and mourned his lost in the Olympiomachy. Hephaestus started crying, telling her that Aphrodite is not his Aphrodite; for starters, he's pretty sure she's not a mecha. He calmed down a bit learning of his Lostbelt counterpart; though said counterpart's mecha form was destroyed, his consciousness persisted in two different AI terminals. One of them was salvaged with Prometheus to help run the City of the Gods.

[up][up][up][up] For Dionisys, there's an underdeveloped paragraph regarding Sugou. Also, it might be worth mentioning Sophitia and Cassandra Alexandra, as both of them are devout worshippers of the Greek Gods and it was Hephaestus who gifted Sophitia her sword and shield as a response to the god realizing how much of a threat Nightmare was. Expand and add my recommendations and I'll give you a [tup] for Dionisys and Hephaestus.

[up][up] Yes; in situations like this, you immediately make the changes and you don't really need to ask the forums for permission. Corrections normally tend to be a universally accepted option at the end of the day.

You know what, with what PhantomFire has dumped, I might as well drop my own list of ideas and suggestions that I've held for two years at this point. Approved or not approved, I'd personally like to see who's curious to adopt or at least take interest in my ideas...

P.S. - I'm open to alternate ideas and some of the suggestions being replaced by someone different or moe interesting + some of the listed suggestions might be outdated, given that the list is pretty old and some ideas have remained there for a long time.

@Gigan Consider it done. I took a gander at Dystopia and seen that The Iron Heel is the first true creator of the genre. That said, the party of that novel, aptly named The Oligarchy is rather not truly detailed, compared to We's One State and Benefactor. As for 1984, there are other tropes that Big Brother and INGSOC could fit, among which are Newspeak, Doublethink, Thoughtcrime and Big Brother Is Watching.

@Crimson: I too, have an interest in taking MHX for myself. Luckily, I'm not too hung up on the hype waiting period, since I have other profiles (and my life) to finish first.

Hey you, what's up man? Give me money, please!

Might as well put these for adoption as well.

It's not the full list, though.

Well, since we're on the subject of putting up ideas for adoption, here are some more. I'll try to keep my suggestions to a minimum as not to clutter up the forum.

here's the link to my previous post so I don't repeat myself.

Rough draft for Drillers. Members include a 15-year old child that's among the best diggers (Susumu), a female driller from Germany who lost her mother in an accident and is rather tomboyish (Anna), a lone wolf that dislikes his father though it's not outright hatred compared to others that fall in that archetype (Ataru), an eccentric, but skilled guy that's obsessed with Egypt (Taizo), Susumu's dog, a robot, and a rabbit that Ataru nursed back to health.

Looking for suggestions on what to add for interactions.

The Drillersmembers , Divine Team of Digging Games

Clockwise from bottom-center: Susumu, Usagi, Ataru, Taizo, Holinger-Z, Anna, Puchi
Taizo in a cross-dimensional universe
  • Demideities
  • Symbol: Susumu’s head
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: This Is a Drill, Oxygen Meter
  • Domains: Drills, Digging
  • Heralds: Masuyo “Kissy” Toby (Taizo’s ex-wife), Dr. Z
  • Allies: Reiji Arisu & Xiaomu, Pac-Man
  • Enemies: Saya (Namco x Capcom)
  • Taizo Hori is a man who made a living digging underground and blowing up strange creatures with his drill pump. At some point in time, he married an adventurer named Masuyo Toby and they had three children together: Susumu, Ataru, and Taiyo. Since then, Taizo and Kissy have separated from each other, with Kissy raising Taiyo and Ataru having a stated dislike towards Taizo. Despite such a family history, Taizo, Susumu, and Ataru have went to various places alongside Anna Hottenmeyer (a female driller from Germany with an interest in Susumu), Susumu’s dog Puchi, robot Holinger-Z, and Ataru’s rabbit companion Usagi, drilling colored blocks and foiling the schemes of the Anoku Drillers along the way.
  • What was supposed to be a routine drilling expedition led to something much bigger for Taizo and the others as, while drilling underground, they managed to find some sort of subterranean society with creatures and items none of the Drillers have seen before. These underground dwellers told Taizo and co. that above them was a world full of plentiful items and that the items that the dwellers have in possession originated from that aforementioned area from up above. After some additional digging, the Drillers managed to discover what was known as the Pantheon and that the subterranean society that they discovered was part of this vast world. Their sense of awe was short-lived when the Drillers discovered some sort of weapon that was going to drill underground and destroy that society they discovered earlier. The villains’ scheme was thwarted, in part because the parties involved with planning and execution were incompetent and while there were more dangerous threats in the Pantheon, Taizo and the other Drillers decided to continue working in the Pantheon, both for leisure and to fend off any future threats that they can handle.
  • One of Taizo’s more unusual adventures didn’t involve Susumu and the rest of his team, but rather, a cross-dimensional journey that saw him encounter a multitude of other characters. It was during that time he met Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu and Taizo also had a more badass-looking appearance during that time, along with some additional skills to go along with working alongside other characters, Kissy included. Despite some of Taizo’s quirks whenever he’s around Susumu and the other Drillers, he’s aware of the dangers he’s encountered on that journey and is willing to keep the team safe if they end up threatened by such enemies. While Reiji and Xiaomu have plenty of allies to fight off Saya and her forces, Taizo is willing to team up with such heroes whenever possible and hopefully, give Susumu and the others a better understanding of genuine threats that can happen.

@ Crimson Shark: I'll get back to you. I have my disagreements with some of your choices

  • I do not think Jango Fett is an especially notable case of Muggles Do It Better, as it seems more applicable to his clones
  • I'm not sure how much Chris Kent counts...didn't Rebirth have him be on good terms with Zod? To be fair, Rebirth Zod is a better dad. I don't think Alexander Luthor Jr is that all undignified a death, even if it is pathetic by comparison
  • I know God and Satan is approved, but post-reboot the trope is no longer applicable. I'm kind of tempted to think Chuck and Lucifer could be reworked/combined into God and Satan Are Both Jerks
  • I'm not fully against Victor Creed, but its weird of you to suggest an Expy from the same 'verse as the original

@ Phantom Fire: Same with Crimson Shark: I will get back to you after I have dealt with my own

If we're dumping like this, I am fine with a bunch of things of mine being adopted. I am currently interested more in reworks and restorations so if anyone a) wants to take any of these or b) feels that they have a better rep for the trope, tell me on the forum or PM me

For Taizo, he'd be very happy to see the the Egyptian Gods and pharaohs like Tutankhamun in the Pantheon.

Alpha Hatsuseno, Goddess of Transience (A7M2)

  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: The Moon Harp and her stylized fish carvings
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Mono no Aware, Cosy Catastrophe, Scenery Porn, Silence Is Golden
  • Domains: Life, Peace, Sadness, Robots
  • Herald: Kokone Takatsu (fellow robot/possible girlfriend)
  • Allies: Akari, Aika and Alice, Chito and Yuuri, Kino
  • Enemies:
  • Alpha Hatsuseno is a robot who runs a coffee shop, Cafe Alpha, on the coast of Yokohama. Alpha lives in a peaceful time after a nebulous series of catastrophes ravaged the world; sea levels have risen drastically, with Yokohama becoming partially flooded. Humanity is on its way to extinction because of those events, but life goes on calmly and happily for the remaining people in the area. Alpha is good friends with the locals, children and elderly alike, and watches them as they go about their lifespans, sometimes providing them with a friendly ear. Although they are as mayflies compared to herself, she finds them and their works very worthy subjects of contemplation.
  • Some indefinite amount of time after the last record of her life in Yokohama, Alpha was contacted by the Pantheon and invited to set up shop in their realm. Being interested in meeting new people and seeing new places, Alpha saw no objection to this, much as a dimension where everyone is immortal and anything can change with a snap of the fingers seems to run counter to what she has learned through her experiences with humans. With no wish to start a debate on the matter, Alpha hasn't commented on this apparent contradiction and quietly took the mantle of representing goddess of the Mono no Aware trope.
  • Running the Cafe could be a lonely and boring job for Alpha; the place was in an out-of-the-way location and this meant she would often go for consecutive days without a single customer (the only reason a failing shop like this could stay open can be credited to the inhuman Alpha not needing much to stay alive). Truth be told, this can still be the case in the Pantheon, as the Cafe is still in a deserted coastal area to keep to its spirit, but by Alpha's own account, it's not as bad as in Yokohama; not only is the Pantheon lousy with people, but many of them are travellers or adventurers and they are happy to find Alpha's shop when they go by her isolated territory. This is how she wound up meeting the drifter Kino, who liked Alpha's calm and thoughtful demeanor and her account of her declining world, which Kino decided to add to her list of destinations. Kino often finds herself half-consciously drifting back to the serenity of Cafe Alpha once in a while to take a break from her travels.
  • It was with some trepidation that Alpha saw a tank roll up to her Cafe, but that bad feeling disappeared soon enough when two harmless-looking girls hopped out and requested some refreshments. As Alpha served them, she curiously asked the girls, Chito and Yuuri, what their circumstances were to be getting around in a tank, and the two explained their world of origin was just about to collapse beyond remedy and the tank was simply the safest and most convenient way for them. They too learned that Alpha's world was in a similar state, if not quite so wrecked, and all together the three girls mused aloud on how strange and contradictory it is that their destroyed worlds can be so peaceful and sometimes even pleasant to live in. Afterwards, the trio have been known to sometimes travel together and pay visits to each other's worlds on occasion (though Alpha has to remind them not to bring their tank into hers, partly so as to not cause any alarm, partly because Alpha just doesn't want to see an instrument of war in Yokohama, much as she thinks it's neat that it serves no other purpose than to carry her friends around).
  • In Alpha's own travels around the Pantheon, she's had the privilege of visiting Neo-Venezia and meeting the Undines who row the gondolas, Akari, Aika and Alice, with whom Alpha became good friends as they served as her tour guides. Alpha was glad to see some of humanity's more majestic achievements recreated off-world, especially after hearing from the Undines that their planet Earth is going through some environmental troubles, even if its situation isn't as bad as Alpha's and humanity as a whole is still doing well. At any rate, Alpha could bond easily with the Undines, especially Akari, over their ability to bask in the present moment and finding beauty in small things.

[up] 2B, 9S and A2 are androids who live in the far future after humanity's extinction, fighting an endless war against robots whose creators (aliens) are also long gone. WALL-E is a robot who is part of a series or clean up bots in charge of cleaning up the garbage of an abandoned Earth after humanity left for space (they return to Earth at the end of the film). Kaban and Serval roam the abandoned Japari Park where the Friends have content lives in the wilderness and decaying structures, the status of humanity being unknown.

@The Drillers: The Creepers would be unwanted encounters while digging since they'd try to implode on them. The Kosugis have a similar generational rivalry though they're more archeologists than diggers, with Lemeza Kosugi getting the treasure that his father, Shawn Kosugi, wanted but failed to get, and it led to the latter attempting to snatch it from him in the first game's ending. This rivalry extends with Lemeza's daughter, Lumisa, though it doesn't stop her from saving the two others in her adventure.

[up][up] Salad Fingers is a lonesome, mentally incomprehensible, and possibly mutated human in a setting of a rather barren land (with implications of a war that happened before) with an obsession for rusty metal. The Inklings and Octolings are evolved squids/octopi that made a civilization after the earth was flooded and humanity went extinct. Hob Gadling is a human that gained complete immortality and is having fun with living through centuries of life despite its ups/downs.
