Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

I'm pretty happy with Applin as he is. Any corrections to make?

Applin, Deified Worm in an Apple (The Applie Core Pokémon, Kajicchu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/840applin_2.png
  • Votes: 1(Excessive-Menace)
  • Hall: Animal Behavior (House of Beasts and Fauna)
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: The apple Applin hides in
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Ability: Ripen
  • Gender: Male
  • Moveset: Draco Meteor, Astonish, Withdraw, Grassy Glide
    • Z-Move: Devestating Drake
  • Portfolio: Wyrm In An Apple, Magikarp Power, Green Thumb, Has Two Different Evolutions, Ripen Doubles The Effect Of Held Berries, Mobile Shrubbery, Stealth Pun
  • Domains: Apples, Worms, Dragons, Reclusiveness
  • Interested in: Eris, the Hall of Dragons
  • Allies: Ash Ketchum, Garchomp, Earthworm Jim, Lex the Bookworm, Satanichia, Satan (Puyo Puyo), Sig, Snow White, Jake Long, Falkor, Spyro, Sparx, Applejack, Jacuzzi Splot, Whispy Woods
  • Enemies: Pokemon Hunter J, Ghetsis Harmonia, Pokemon "Trainer" Rusty, The Evil Queen, The Killer Tomatoes
  • Fears: The Halls of Birds and Ice and Cold, Pet Shop, Gluttony, William Tell, Holo, Ryuk, Kirby, deadly and mad doctors as a whole
  • Wary of: SCP-261, Muffet
  • Opposes: Vegeta, Annoying Orange
  • Not all Dragon-type Pokémon are strong. Applin is a weak little worm more akin to a Magikarp, which is why it seeks to hollow out an apple and live in it for protection; a "wyrm" in an apple, if you will. And like Magikarp it becomes much stronger through evolution. The Tart Apple has it become Flapple, who uses the apple skins as its wings, and the Sweet Apple has it become Appletun, a living apple pie. Shiny Applin use a green apple. The leaves on the top of the apple are actually its eye stalks.
  • The reclusive Applin ascended accidentally due to being mistaken for a standard apple until someone made the misfortune of biting into it. The worm hides in the apple to hide from bird Pokémon, so this was considered a slap in the face. He was further frustrated by the lack of Tart or Sweet Apples to induce evolution, and went to SCP-261 to order one. Since Applin didn't have any yen it went nowhere, but he was comforted in knowing his predicament made him a great fit for divinity under the Worm in an Apple trope. He still bemoaned the anomalous vending machine however, since one of the snacks it gave for a customer was another Applin.
  • Due to a double weakness to Ice-type moves, Applin is scared of the Hall of Ice and Cold. And as Pet Shop is both a bird and uses a cryokinetic Stand, he's the Pokémon's personal greatest fear. That, and Gluttony deciding to eat him. Granted Pet Shop doesn't think Applin is much of a meal, but he does like scaring Applin. The worm is cautious around Muffet too, mainly out of befuddled worry on how she bakes spiders to be eaten and how this isn't immoral like just killing spiders.
  • A lot of people were surprised to learn that Applin is in fact a dragon, if a puny one until evolving. He seems to be interested in the wide variety of cool dragon gods in their Hall, though he feels inadequate compared to them. Falkor, Spyro and Jake Long treated Applin with a lot of kindness, and their compassion and intrigue combined with other allies made Applin friendly enough to be taught Draco Meteor from a move tutor. The Apple Core Pokémon has found this a useful measure of self-defense, but prefers to just blend in with other apples instead of putting up a fight.
  • The worm looks up to Garchomp for being a badass and unorthodox dragon, and hopes to one day be like him. After meeting Earthworm Jim, it's possible he might not need to evolve; he was given five minutes to pilot his suit and proved capable of using it. Applin is considering being an apple-themed superhero one day, though this would require Jim and his allies to reverse engineer the proper suit for the Pokémon. One of the first things Applin wants to do with it is frighten the evil and aggressive members of the Hall of Birds. The second is to gather the courage to work with Chanticleer and Sgt.Byrd.
  • Being a fellow bug, Applin feels less intimidated by Sparx and is interested in the adventures he's had on his own. He later heard of the trouble Snow White got into with an apple, and wasn't happy to learn of the Evil Queen and her envious apple-poisoning scheme. Thanks to his time hanging out with Earthworm Jim Applin was in a heroic mood and chose to protect Snow White from the evils of the world. The Apple Core Pokémon was also encouraged to be more pro-active against the common rogues gallery of Pokémon as a whole. That said Applin is still a shy and nervous creature, which is why he'll sometimes live with Jacuzzi Splot since he can relate to him.
  • Applin eventually found a home in Isaac Newton's apple tree, and ended up re-enacting his famousnote  "Eureka!" Moment by falling on his head in a failed attempt to learn Grav Apple before evolving. Newton tried to find the Doctor for bothering him a second time before noticing the apple was moving. He was interested in the worm and how the move Grav Apple was a clear nod to said "Eureka!" Moment, eventually deciding to adopt the Apple Core Pokémon as a pet and partner; even he gets lonely sometimes. Applin has come to understand Newton's works better thanks to another worm, Lex the Bookworm, simplifying his long speeches for him.
  • Applin seems to take inspiration from the larvae of certain moths in how it buries itself into something, the mythical lindworm and possibly even the Biblical serpent given the association between apples and the Tree of Knowledge. This last part interested the Puyo Puyo version of Satan who treats him as a Morality Pet, and he and bug fan Sig like to play Pokemon Camp with Applin. Satanichia also noticed the last part, and Applin came to sympathize with her Butt-Monkey status considering how weak he is. Her mischief inspired the Apple Core Pokémon to one day bury into Eris' Apple of Discord and see what he can do, but the chances of actually succeeding at that are all but zero.
  • Given his timid nature the Dragon type is never seen during Halloween season, partly because he's afraid of apple bobbing. Partly it's because of a bad experience where he tried to make small talk with the produce Killer Tomatoes, only for them to try and kill him for not deciding if they were fruit or vegetables. Surprisingly Applin is on good terms with Applejack despite her apple farming since she recognizes he's a simple dragon-worm trying to live his life, and she's decided to help him out by giving him some sturdy apples to serve as protection. He likes the apple pies she cooks, which the pony finds a little weird given one of his evolutions is basically a living apple pie.
  • While he gets along with Applejack, those with a taste for apples tend to scare the worm more than anything. Both Ryuk and Holo show up in his nightmares, though with the former that's fair. Sure they don't want to eat him because he's a worm, but his disguise could trick them into thinking otherwise. Applin fears William Tell for another reason; mistaking him for target practice. Kirby frightens him too since Applin likes Whispy Woods for dropping apples so the worm can hide, but Kirby likes to swallow them up; one time this led to Kirby getting Applin's powers.
  • Applin usually doesn't try to bite off more than he could chew, but the Apple Core Pokémon has occasionally tried to intimidate doctors in the Trope Pantheon after hearing the old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". Being all bark and no bite most either ignored or just humored him for a lark, which was very fortunate. The only reason he didn't die doing this to Fabius Bile and Cioccolata of all people was because it was such an act of brazen stupidity they were too dumbfounded to attacknote . Even Billy thought that was stupid, and hearing that led Applin to curl up and cry.
  • After juggling the Idiot Ball Applin has come to be petrified of any Mad Doctor and Deadly Doctor. However Applin wasn't done juggling it completely and believed that he could spook Vegeta due to his alleged fear of worms. These attempts were met with Vegeta pointing out that a) those worms were huge and b) it happened in Filler. He then suggested he and Annoying Orange would make good friends. He was a bit frightened by the Dragon-type due to mistaking him as an actual worm, but soon started talking and Applin soon became very annoyed by the orange, declaring him insufferable. Applin has labeled Vegeta as almost insufferable since he knew this would happen and wanted to Troll him for thinking he could scare the Prince of All Saiyans.

@Iceaura39, we have some Assassins Organizations in Pantheon for Seth to interact with, like The Black Organization, The Assassin Brotherhood, and some members of The Hashshashin. Both Seth and Linne would probably be against Ra's al Ghul, the immortal leader of the League of Assassins. Also in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Naoto Shirogane got along pretty well with Seth.

Reposting some proposals.

Kagura Mutsuki for Strong and Skilled

  • Kagura Mutsuki is one of the most powerful characters in the world of BlazBlue. Hs strength is recognized by virtually every character in the game. Unlike mostly every other character, Kagura is 100% human, does not draw power from the resident Eldritch Location, or posses a Weapon of Mass Destruction. He's trained for most of his entire life, and even continues to the present day. Thanks to this he's able to not only fight people like Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, Mu -No.12- and Azrael, but actually win.

I got a suggestion here.

Jane Foster, God of Power Slowly Killing You

Reasoning: Every time she transformed into Thor via Mjolnir it was actually reversing her progress in chemotherapy considering it was removing the poisons in her body which includes the drugs used for her chemotherapy. This essentially means that using Mjolnir would make the cancer spread throughout the body. She still continued to use Mjolnir and eventually her cancer reached stage 4 and metastasized. She still continued to be a hero and ultimately died by that way before getting revived.

[down] I haven't really considered something like that I just wanted to test out this suggestion.

The plot revolved the eponymous Morituri strike force, that are actually humans, who volunteer to gain superpowers to defeat an alien invasion but slowly die off due to their bodies not being able to handle the powers given to them from days up until a year, essentially superpowered-conscripts.

Same thing here, though I happened to return a few weeks before we all got into a giant Flame War over a giant yellow head.

Also, shouldn’t Fables be moved to DC Comics? It spent its entire run in Vertigo, so it should be considered a DC Comic.

Im still waiting for actual action in the restructuring forum after we revived. A presidency was nearly established and since there is no actual talk on restructuring, I assume that we’ll be having that conversation again in the future over what the Pantheon should focus on except maybe itll become the Clone Wars here if the Senate nearly happened.

Hamana if you’re reading, do what you said you would. I noticed whenever you have big ambitious talks on what the Pantheon should do, you suddenly ditch afterward and make everyone else do the stuff you wanted for you. Its like you keep saying we should evict youtubers but then you peace out on actually trying to do that lol

So I was browsing TLP a while ago, and noticed this soon-to-be-launched trope about Nuckelavee. While we did ascend it while ago, it did make me think what to do with these "mythological creature" tropes? We did ascend a Chupacabra and there was bit of an argument about Mothman, but I never been such a fan of "God of Itself" nominations.

  • Sympathetic towards: Odio, Hokma
  • Elizabeth Liones is the third princess of the Kingdom of Liones, adopted by King Baltra Liones. When the Holy Knights staged a coup against her father, Elizabeth set out to recruit the Seven Deadly Sins to help her put a stop to the Holy Knights. Finding Meliodas, she begins working as a waitress at the Boar Hat bar as the two journey to find the rest of the Sins and save Liones. During the fight against the Holy Knights and the Demon Clan, it's revealed that Elizabeth is the 107th reincarnation of the Goddess Elizabeth, daughter of the Supreme Goddess who fell in love with Meliodas. The Supreme Goddess and the Demon King cooperated to curse the two for falling in love and going against them, with Elizabeth cursed to reincarnate as human without her memories and powers, only to recover them once she falls in love with Meliodas again and then inevitably die within 3 days after awakening them and reincarnating to start the cycle over again. After helping the love of her life overcome the Demon King and save his brother Zeldris, Elizabeth is finally free of her curse, allowing her to marry Meliodas without any trouble getting in the way.
  • Elizabeth was ascended into the Pantheon after her husband and brother-in-law stopped the Supreme Goddess from destroying them and starting another Holy War. The Cour of the Gods saw Elizabeth's case and decided to offer her position within the Pantheon to represent Resurrection/Death Loop. Elizabeth accepted the proposal after hearing that her husband and the other Sins are there, including the deceased Escanor. A happy reunion ensued all around... though Meliodas still takes the time to grope her, which earned him mixed reception among the pantheon, people cringing at best and being confrontational at worst.
  • Hawk was outright happy to see Elizabeth ascend into the Pantheon, the latter adoring talking pigs while the former cares for her like a protective father figure. Usually, Hawk would keep Meliodas' lecherous tendencies towards her in check, to the point he immediately tied him up when he got into the same bed as Elizabeth. Elizabeth was happy to see Hawk in the Pantheon, being willing to partner with him on several missions and ride on his back when they need to to get out of a jam.
  • Subaru, Tree, and William Cage are also stuck in a loop of dying over again, though in this case they simply just go back a few moments in time rather than being reincarnated. All the same however, they do understand Elizabeth's pain, and they're all happy that her curse is finally broken, and she can finally have a happy life without any more trouble. The former two understand how horrible it is to die over and over again, Subaru more so as he had to struggle to save his loved ones as well. Elizabeth sympathizes with them over there struggles, and she hopes that Subaru can finally find his happy ending in the future.
  • Many have questioned Elizabeth's relationship with Meliodas due to all the times he acted perverted towards her, and why she (the most recent incarnation) doesn't really seem to hold this behavior against him. Elizabeth makes it a point to list all of his good traits, which doesn't exactly reassure many, but most tend to drop it for her sake. Of course, then again, some people believe it may be because of their respective curses that Meliodas acts this towards Elizabeth's incarnations, since he never acted like this with the Goddess Elizabeth and it's likely he has seen her die so many times that he either tries to make the most of their time together or is trying to avoid the hurt that will come from losing her again.
  • Elizabeth would soon cross paths with King Arthur in the Pantheon, though she quickly found out this Arthur is an amalgamation of different incarnations of the King of Camelot. Regardless, the Arthur from her world recognized her and was quite happy to see her in the Pantheon, especially now that she is finally free of her curse. Elizabeth is grateful for this and eager to see Arthur again but is saddened that there are some incarnations that suffered plenty of tragedy and in some timelines, ended up becoming evil.
    • The reincarnated Goddess was in for a large surprise when she not only met a male version of Merlin, but also a female version of Arthur in the form of Arturia Pendragon. The latter became quick friends with Elizabeth due to how much they had to struggle to be with the love of their lives. While Arturia is happy that Elizabeth finally managed to earn her happy ending, Elizabeth is saddened after hearing about some of the different possible timelines where Arturia was either killed or had to be separated from Shirou, with one timeline allowing the two to get together.
    • She also crossed paths with some of the Knights of the Round Table, of which her son, Tristian, is a member. Lancelot welcomed her into the Pantheon, telling her it is an honor meet an ally of his parents, Ban and Elaine as well as his maternal uncle, King. Lancelot's son Galahad on the other hand got mixed reactions because of his one incarnation's actions towards the Master of Chaldea and Shielder, but he still remains an ally of her even if he doesn't get along with his father. Gawain is highly respectful of her and Meliodas since they fought alongside Arthur against the Demon Clan and Cath Palug.
    • Shielder got along with Elizabeth very well, since they're both devoted to the person they love most (The Master of Chaldea and Meliodas respectively). Although she is perplexed and mortified by Meliodas' pervy behavior towards his wife, she is at least happy the two are able to break their curses and find their happy ending together with the help of their allies. She tends to hang out with Elizabeth during their off time to discuss their hobbies and have fun together.
  • Being an angel in all but name, Elizabeth got along with some of the nicest angels in the Pantheon, including Aru Akise, Sweet Mayhem, Claudia Jerusalem, Flonne, Sicily, and Artina. She also found companionship in friendly demons such as Anos Voldigoad, Sparda, the Seven Mortal Sins, Adell, Killia, Morrigan and Lilith Aensland, since her compassion extended to demons as well. Many of them were horrified after hearing of how Elizabeth's mother and Demon King cursed her and Meliodas just for going against them, to the point that both sides considered the Supreme Goddess monstrous, especially after hearing of how she treats the Holy War like a game.
    • The Disgea deities were some of the most notable examples, most likely because she crossed paths with them once. Elizabeth got along very well with Flonne, Sicily, Artina, and Liezerota. The former 3 were angels who believed in the power of love (especially Flonne) and the latter was an All-Loving Hero who had who gone through death and strife to be with the man she loved. They were all happy that Elizabeth was finally able to be free of her curse and be with Meliodas, though they do show some shock when Meliodas gropes his wife.
    • Usalia was the probably the most sympathetic to Elizabeth, since she had been cursed by a cruel person, with the only difference being her parents were loving people who were murdered in front of her, while Elizabeth was cursed by a cruel and abusive mother. Elizabeth was surprised and impressed that Usalia turned her curse into her greatest strength, while Usalia was happy Elizabeth managed to break her curse. Elizabeth has become a Cool Big Sis to the young girl, with Usalia liking her so much that she likes her company over Majorita.
    • Claudia and Colette became instant friends with Elizabeth since they also suffered horrible fates thrust upon them, in this case by becoming angels that suffered from horrible effects (Claudia being killed by her own light, Colette from losing her emotions). Because of this, Claudia was happy about Elizabeth and Colette finding their happy ending, and the three tend to hang out in their spare time.
    • Anos Voldigoad, unlike Meliodas' father, is a benevolent Demon King who had become good friends with humans and also supported co-existence between races to the point of abhoring war. When he finds out Elizabeth and her lover were cursed by the other's parent to suffer for going against them, Anos was furious with this act of cruelty, and admits that if Meliodas hadn't gotten to them, he certainly would have. He was at least glad that the two were finally able to break their curses, and he welcomed them into circle of friends since they both sought co-existence.
    • Sparda got along with the Goddess after hearing of her tale from Meliodas, showing great respect to her for helping Meliodas become a better person. Elizabeth in turn was honored to meet a demon who helped to protect others especially after meeting the love of his life. While Sparda was disgusted by Meliodas acting perverted towards his wife, he is still glad the two were able to break their curses and find their happy ending.
    • The Seven Mortal Sins became good friends with Elizabeth after hearing about her from Meliodas. Satan and Beezlebub especially liked her, the former due to Elizabeth being Meliodas' lover as well as her strong sense of justice causing her to resent both the Demon King and the Supreme Deity from Elizabeth's world, and the latter being a nice girl who wanted to share her sweets with her.
  • Elizabeth would meet and befriend the members of the Occult Research Club, especially the likes of Issei, Asia, Rias, Akeno, and Irina Shidou. Many of them were appalled by the Demon King and the Supreme Goddesses' curse on Elzabeth and her lover, especially after hearing of how the former two treat their progeny in general and treat the conflict like a game. Because of this they're relieved that the curses were finally broken and thus Elizabeth would finally get to marry Meliodas and live a happy life without any curse to ruin it.
  • Her relationship with the Ten Commandments is a complicated one. Some of them are now on good terms with Elizabeth, while some are neutral at best, still hateful at worst. Zeldris is no longer hostile towards her after reconciling with Meliodas and reuniting with his beloved Gelda. He doesn't even hesitate to visit her and Meliodas, nor does he hesitate to cooperate with the two against the Supreme Deity. Estarossa, or rather Mael, is now on good terms with Elizabeth, especially now that he has regained his memories and identity and has changed for the better. He's also shown to be more respectful of Elizabeth's relationship with Meliodas, and he also helped the Sins put a stop to the Supreme Deity when she tries to restart the Holy War. Monspeet and Derieri are on good terms with Elizabeth, with the latter even starting to accept Elizabeth after she had shown her kindness due to remembering how she went out of her way to save her and Monspeet when they went out of control. Gloxnia and Drole had turned on the Demon Clan and helped the Sins, and seemed to be amiable to Elizabeth, especially after they helped King and Diane get stronger. Galand, Melascula, and Grayroad seem to be the only demons that remain hostile to Elizabeth, since they were still loyal to Demon Clan as a whole at the time they were defeated. Fraudrin seems to be a complicated case, since he was killed by Meliodas after he Came Back Wrong, but after seeing that the Holy War has been stopped and Zeldris is on good terms with everyone, he doesn't seem to be causing any more trouble.
  • Hokma was stuck in a "Groundhog Day" Loop where he would start out as his original human self Benjamin, be converted into an A.I. by Angela operating under a "playbook" by Ayin, his superior and closest confidant. Every time the loop ends, he comes back as Benjamin. Elizabeth saw the scenario as something similar to her curse, though she did question his loyatly to Ayin. Hokma in turn questioned her love for Meliodas after seeing him act perverted towards her, noting their feelings towards the people their devoted are hardly different, something that Elizabeth can't argue against.
  • While Elizabeth may have encountered benevolent angels and demons, there were some that were truly malevolent and nasty pieces of work, some of which earned her ire. The Godhand were truly some of the most vile among demons, mainly because they work their world as miserable as possible, but Elizabeth was outright repusled by Femto after hearing of how he sacrificed his companions for the sake of his ambition and even raped Casca in front of her lover Gutsnote . Grima had possessed Robin in another timeline and had attempted to force their past self to be their vessel and destroy their loved ones. Elizabeth became an enemy to the Angels of Paradisio because she refused to swear fealty to Jubileus, something that reminds her of how her mother punished her for going against her wishes. The Beast reminded her of how the Demon King possessed Meliodas and Zeldris, so she intends to make sure the Beast didn't possess anyone else.
    • Elizabeth felt sympathy for Odio after hearing of his origins, namely how he was betrayed by someone he called a friend and was rejected by the woman he loved. Seeing how Odio was warped by his despair and hatred, Elizabeth hoped it's possible to save him one day and give him a happier ending than in his mortal life. Odio on the other hand is quite cynical of this but does admit that he admires that Elizabeth and Meliodas were able to change their fate and does hope maybe the same might be possible for him one day.
  • Galeem and Dharkon's conflict reminded Elizabeth of the Supreme Deity and the Demon King's conflict. They fight each other without regard for anyone who gets caught in the crossfire, though unlike the latter two, they are incapable of truly cooperating with each other. Seeing how they treat other people's lives as tools disgusts her to the point she promises to end them both and ensure their goals can never come to fruition.

  • April O'Neil is one of the first humans to befriend the turtles, usually after being saved by them and having a rocky first impression of them due to the turtles being mutants and has since been one of their closest allies and companions. She could either be a Damsel in Distress, an emotional support, or become a fighter in her own right, but regardless she will always be at their side to help them when they need it. She's usually a reporter and an adult to make her a big sister figure to the turtles, but there have been cases of April being the turtles' age, making them closer as friends.
  • April was ascended into the Pantheon after the Courts did a background on multiple versions of her through TMNT multiverse. They agreed to have her represent the Tagalong Reporter trope after noticing how most versions of April tend to have the job of reporter. A version of April ascended to the Pantheon, having both her job as reporter as well as the Ninjutsu training she received to contribute to the Turtles' battle against evil. The Turtles eagerly welcomed April and she was given her own personal temple.
    • April was also happy to meet Master Splinter, who had trained her in Ninjutsu and also acted as an uncle figure to her. Her relationship with Baron Draxum was a bit complicated since he was previously enemies with her in another time, but since he became friends with that April, April was willing to become his friend, even going so far as to use the nickname her counterpart gave him, "Barry". When she crossed paths with Bebop and Rocksteady, April showed a particular friendly side towards them despite being enemies in most timelines due since they a nicer side at times, even to the point of reforming. The one figure from her universe that put her on-guard was the Shredder, the Arch-Enemy of both the Turtles and Master Splinter. No matter which universe she's in, the Shredder is always the biggest enemy to watch out for.
  • As a reporter most of the time, April spends most of her days talking with other reporters in the Hall of Jobs and Profession. She tends to hang out with Frank West and Lois Lane the most, Frank since he had also fought for his life against dangerous adversaries (in his case, zombies and psychopaths), and Lois Lane since April was once her High Priestess since they are also reporters who became close friends and allies with heroes. April became fast friends with Jade after hearing of how she took care of orphanage of children, since she tends to be a big sister figure to the turtles. April was conflicted about Jameson after hearing of how he antagonizes Spider-Man, getting annoyed with how he treats him as a menace no matter how much good he's done, but after learning about his change of heart, April has become a good ally to him.
    • Speaking of Spider-Man, April quickly became friends with the web-slinger after he learned about her ascension, having heard of her from the Turtles. April is willing to team-up with Spidey against several enemies, including those that directly threaten his loved ones. April was rather nervous around Venom at first due to his history of bad blood against Peter, but after hearing of how he's changed is willing to ally with him as well, though she's still unerved by Venom's hunger for brains.
  • The Turtles have once crossed with the Power Rangers, with April even temporarily becoming the Pink Ranger, so April is naturally thrilled to see the Power Rangers in the Pantheon. The feeling is mutual, and they have invited April to come fight alongside them whenever they need her assitance. April is willing to accept at times, but prefers primarily to fight alongside her closest friends, only fighting as the Pink Ranger when the time to team-up with the Power Rangers comes.
  • The Turtles have worked alongside Batman, Robin, and Batgirl to fight against Ra's al Ghul and the Shredder, as well as the other members of Batman's Rogues Gallery after they were mutated by the mutagen. Naturally, April is honored to meet the Dark Knight and his disciples, and has joined forces with them on occasion. She has crossed paths with some of the villains the Turtles fought, such as Ra's al Ghul (who teamed up with the Shredder once), The Joker, Bane, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Harley Quinn (all of whom acted as a diversion to keep the Turtles and the Bat-Family's attention off of Ra's and the Shredder), and while there were some that earned her sympathy, there also those that became adversaries she was willing to fight for the sake of her friends.
  • April met the Masters of Spinjitzu in the Pantheon, showing surprise at their colored attire and their special powers. After they heard of how she was trained as a kunoichi and had Psychic Powers in one timeline, the Ninja thought she might have been that world's version of the Elemental Master of Mind, though they soon found out that wasn't the case. April tends to get along with Nya the most since they both started out as supporters for their friends before becoming more capable over time and started fighting on the front lines.
  • Got along with the likes of Kipo Oak, a mutant that could take an animal-like form. April was fond of Kipo after learning of how she strived to make peace between humans and mutes, something she hoped was possible between the Turtles and the outside world. April reminded Kipo of her human friends from her world, since she also supported mutated animals, and became great friends with her as a result. Kipo was glad that at least on some worlds, April's friends were finally able to co-exist with humans.
  • Michiru and Nazuna were former humans who were turned into Beastman, but they were able to not only able to save them from the Nyrvasyl Syndrome, but also from being driven to extinction by being turned into humans. April became a Cool Big Sis to the girls while showing how proud she was in their goal to establish peace. Shirou, while not exactly the most friendly to her since she's human, is still slowly accepting humans into his heart and is able to speak with her on cordial terms.
  • Beast Boy reminds April of Michelangelo due to his goofy nature as the clown to this friends. Because of this, she also acts as a supporting figure in his life, while allowing him to talk and hang out with Mikey during their spare time. She doesn't mind their antics, unlike Raphael, and is shown smiling at seeing how the two get along.
  • There were many ninjas in the Pantheon, though some aren't exactly known for being stealthy. April found it an honor to meet Ryu Hayabusa, one of the most famous ninja s of his world, while becoming good friends with Kasumi and Ayane. April sympathized with the two after hearing about what happened to their brother but was happy they got to reunite with him. She is tolerant of Black☆Star's antics to the point of considering him an ally, though she does get annoyed with his showboating tendencies to the point of forgetting stealth. She respects Bang Shinshigami and is saddened when she heard about his relationship with Litchi and Carl after they had gone their separate ways. April gets along well with Naruto and Asuka as well as their allies, even if they act more like supernatural fighters than ninja. April was happy that Naruto managed to earn his happy ending, and also shows approval for Asuka's tendency to find friends in other ninja clans. She is flabbergasted by Mai Shinranui's attire, noting that she would never be willing to show off so much skin, regardless of if it's used to hide how capable Mai is as a fighter.
    • April has heard of the Marked Ninja's exploits, mainly how he targets others from the shadows and how little is known about him. April notes that he is a lot more like a ninja than most shinobi in the Pantheon, usually assassinating his targets in covert ways, and that's what makes him so dangerous. April finds this Marked Ninja rather frightening and hopes she never has to cross his path.

[up][up][tup] for both.

@TPPR 10 and General Gigan I'm personally of the opinion that it's perfectly fine to ascend a creature or character under the trope they represent as long the trope is at least worded using a nickname of that creature or person.

In this case, we could do something like this:

The Nuckelavee, Unholy Devil of the Sea
