Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Here are some trope change proposals, and reposting the Scarlet Spiders.

  • Orochimaru: From Grand Theft Me to Serpent of Immortality.
    • Orochimaru has a strong affiliation with Snakes, being both his Animal Motifs and theme of power. His obsession with immortality has him search through various Dangerous Forbidden Techniques, which either allows him to bring back the dead, avoid death by having someone else take his place, or simply extending his lifespan in some way or another, as he never seems to age. When his body was crippled and placed into a state of near death, he tried to have Tsunade heal him after promising to bring back her loved ones. When it looked as if Sasuke actually killed him, he turns out to still be alive. When seemly put down for good by Itachi, Sasuke actually revives him, fortunately this time Orochimaru acts as a changed person and switches sides.

  • Pikachu: From Signature Mon to Series Mascot.
    • It goes without saying that Pikachu is the face of Pokémon, earning his spot as the Signature Mon in both the anime and manga, getting a game dedicated to him like in Pokémon Yellow, Hey You, Pikachu!, and Detective Pikachu. He even became a literal mascot in a Japanese Soccer Team. Pikachu is both another mascot for Nintendo, and a major icon of Japan.

Benjamin "Ben" Reilly and Kaine Parker, Gods of Cloning Blues (Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man II, Red Spider-Man, Spider-Man in a Hoodie, Jackal II, Canadian Spider-Man(?) | Kaine: Scarlet Spider IV, Kaine, Araña Escarlata, Candy Cane, Houston's Spider-Man, Tarantula, Parker 3.0, The Other)

  • Votes: (Crimson Shark, Tropers/Excessive-Menace, Dood Slayer 136)
  • House: Clones and Counterparts, Types of Sadness
  • Intermediate Gods
  • Symbol: A Stylized Spider
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (Ben), Chaotic Good (Kaine)
  • Portfolio: Cloning Blues, Clones Are People, Too, Deadpan Snarker, Spider-Sense, Wall Crawling, Web Swinging, All Webbed Up, Arachnid Appearance and Attire, Artificial Family Member, The Atoner, With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
  • Domains: Clones, Spiders, Misery, Responsibility
  • Herald: (Ben) Elizabeth Tyne, (Kaine) Aracely Penalba/Hummingbird
  • Allies:
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: J. Jonah Jameson, Otto Octavius/Doc Ock/Superior Spider-Man, Eddie Brock/Venom, The Venom Symbiote, Frank Castle/The Punisher, Wade Wilson/Deadpool
  • Enemies:
  • It's not easy being a clone. Some wonder if they can be considered actual people, if their lives have any value. Sometimes those are the least of their problems. It also isn't easy being a Spider-Man, it's hard to stay close to others, heroism is never easy on them, people tend to hate you and seemingly even life itself hates you. Now imagine if you were both of those things. Imagine if you were Ben Reilly and Kaine, the clones of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker.
  • As mentioned before, life sucks for both Ben and Kaine. As in it really sucks. Ben fought with Peter on who was the original and who was the clone. Kaine had to deal with being, what he considered, a complete freak of nature. And those were just the tip of the iceberg. Having missed his brothers and wishing to help in any way he could, Peter sought out a way to bring them into Pantheon. It was actually a lot easier than he thought. He knew that being Spider-Man wasn't easy, and neither was being a clone, so Cloning Blues was the obvious choice. With that, the two clone brothers were brought into Pantheon.
  • Their initial reaction to Pantheon was normal for newcomers. They were confused, shocked, and slightly annoyed about their title, Kaine especially. It didn't take long for them to find their grounding and to get used to the new world. Things are easier on them now that they don't have to hide who, or what, they are, and are now being supported by others. It has to be made clear that the Ben Reilly in Pantheon is NOT the same Ben Reilly post The Clone Conspiracy, his personality and memories are the every end of the The Clone Saga. This is because at the end of Spider-Geddon, Octavius brought him back to "factory settings". Meaning he specifically doesn't have the memories that lead to him becoming the second Jackal.
  • If it wasn't already clear, Peter sees both Ben and Kaine as brothers, the two the closest things he's ever had to a sibling and like with any other family member, hurting them is an easy way to piss him off. Not that they need his help or protection, Kaine especially. The three have been through a lot together, so they try to keep close, even when they're far away.
    • Peter wasn't the only Spider-Man who was happy to see them. In their initial ascension Both Peter, Miles Morales, Jessica Drew, Earth-65 Gwen Stacy, Peni Parker, and Spider-Ham held a welcome party for them. While they were glad to see them, there was one other Spider-Man they weren't happy to see. The Superior Spider-Man, Dr. Otto Octavius. The clones and Otto have a strained relationship. They'll willingly join forces to stop a common threat, but there's a lot of bad blood between them. Kaine had killed Otto at one point and Otto (temporarily) destroyed Kaine's trust in Peter back when he possessed his body. Ben Reilly forced Otto to help him during the Clone Conspiracy, something he still resented till Spider-Geddon. But despite what happened, it was Otto who helped redeem Ben by heroically sacrificing him to the Inheritors. And then bringing him back to life in the state he was in before he went insane.
  • After the welcome party, Peter bought the two to visit a special certain family, their family. For the first time in their lives, both Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker were alloyed to meet not only their Aunt May and Uncle Ben, but also their heralds, their parents Richard and Mary Parker.
  • Their arrival wasn’t exactly widely celebrated among heroes, primarily because not many are as well associated with the clones as they are with the original Spider-Man, but they were warmly welcomed non the less. The Superman family was especially welcoming. Both Clark and Lois had previously met and worked with Ben at the Daily Planted when their worlds were colliding and threatening to destroy each other. They both found Ben to be pleasant, and while she didn't know at the time, Lois enjoyed seeing Ben in his costume, much to her son’s Jonathan embarrassment. Fellow clone Conner Kent, Superboy, was excited to see the second Spider-Man again, primarily because he wanted a rematch after their last fight. Ben has so far avoided said rematch, knowing that he won't be able to take him down like he did before.
    • Seeing another Super Hero ascend naturally didn't go well with most of the villains and crime lords in Pantheon, with the sole exception of Norman Osborn and The Joker. Osborn was ecstatic at the idea of killing another Spider, knowing full well how it’ll affect Peter, plus he’ll get the chance to say he killed the same hero twice. Joker has a strange fondness for Spider-Men, either because they themselves like to joke around, their easier targets to freak out with his list of atrocities, or maybe it’s because he genuinely likes spiders more than bats like he told Ben when they first met. When it comes to what the Joker thinks, nothing is certain.
    • Luthor has expressed some interest in the second clone. Ben Reilly is and has been the only successful and pure clone amongst a long list of failures. Luthor wants to know the secret to why, but more importantly, how he can benefit from it. He was genuinely disappointed that Ben had no memories of his time as the second Jackal, meaning any breakthroughs he may have found as the CEO of New U Technologies are now gone after its destruction.
  • It wasn’t hard for the twin spiders (or more accurately Ben) to befriend the various heroes from another world. It’s not the first time he’s done this. Meeting the students of U.A. High School was considered refreshing for Ben, especially in meeting All Might, someone who he, in his own words, felt “safe” being with. The two brothers also found a near instant ally among the four Ninja Turtles (as well as an enemy in The Shredder). Ben was able to instantly relate to both Michelangelo and Donatello. Being both a genius and a fun loving goofball at the same time. Kaine found kinship with Raphael, the two have their own personal issues, both within themselves and with their family at times. But despite their own problems they love their family dearly and will ‘’personally’’ bring down pain to those that harm them.
  • Despite what one may think, neither Ben nor Kaine have ever met the other famous Superhero clone Laura Kinney/X-23. Despite this there’s an unspoken understanding between all of them, of the struggles of being a clone, and the trials of trying to find their place in the world. Unfortunately the same can’t be said with the likes of The Grineer, and Rau Le Creuset. The two do their best to avoid any contact and association with the degenerating Clone Army, seeing them as the worst among clones that they’ve ever seen. Fortunately said army hasn’t attempted to make any contact, which is fine by them. Again the same cannot be said about Rau Le Creuset. Believing that they “stole” his title and infuriated for how they willingly go out of their way to protect humanity, Rau Le Creuset has made numerous attempts to end them and take back what he believes to be his. Fortunately they’re not completely inexperienced with fighting mech like machinery, thanks to Peter’s previous experience with the Spider-Slayers. Rau Le Creuset's mech were brought down and the clone pilot was left All Webbed Up in both humiliation and defeat.
  • Ben and Kaine prefer to keep business on the streets. Meaning that they fight bank robbers, gangsters, the occasional killer robot, and weekly supervillain. So when things go cosmic, interdimensional, magical, or divine, it's usually because they've been dragged into it against their will. Which is exactly what happened when they were forced to deal with Lolth. Having recently discovered about the Web of Life and Destiny, and how a mortal known as The Queen used it to empower herself to godhood. Lolth concluded that as a true queen of spiders and an actual goddess, the right to take control and rule over the Web of Life and Destiny was hers. But to access the web she knew that she needed someone deeply connected to it, but due to her lack of knowledge all she had to go with was that Kaine once possessed a Spider Totem known as "The Othe". Believing that her own understanding of divinity would be enough to fill in whatever gaps needed, she attacked and tried to enslave the clone. Thankfully Kaine regained his ruined Spider-Sense upon ascension, and was able to avoid her attacks and escape. The discovery of his powers only fuels her desire and ambition, and her actions drew the attention of Ungoliant, Shelob and Arachne.
  • Since life has always been a struggle for the two brothers, and so has their death and revival. This would draw the intention of the Thunder God Raiden. Knowing the original Spider-Man to be a hero of great virtue and nobility, Raiden grew to fear for their well being and soul. Fortunately things have improved, Ben is taking therapy and Kaine isn’t acting like a ruthless murderer (yes that's an improvment for him). The God of Thunder has offered his assistance should something go wrong in their next revival, should their souls somehow be tainted, he’s offered to help cleanse it through the Jinsei. Kaine was annoyed with how someone had literally offered to cleanse his soul, Ben immediately took up the offer. Saying that he'll take any chance to avoid becoming the evil clone again.
    • While Raiden's visit was nothing but well intended, his actions had the unintended side effect of attracting Shao Kahn and his family’s interest, or more specifically their ire. Not liking the idea of the Thunder God obtaining more allies, Shao Kahn sought out to eliminate them before they could become a problem. Fortunately Peter was with them at the time of the attack, so not only were they able to hold their own, they were able to take him down. Shao Kahn has not forgiven them for the insult of defeat, or their insults during the battle, and has recruited his "family" to join him and destroy them. Fortunately Liu Kang, Kitana and Kung Lao have offered their aid for the next time Shao Kahn attacks.t*** But because of how personal Kaine takes it when someone attacks his brothers, he decided to be more forward with going to the Conqueror of Outworld. Kaine did this by going and brutalizing Shao Kahn’s army, leaving only one survivor, and that was so Shao Kahn would know who did it. Kaine's actions drew the attention of both Hanzo Hasashi and Kuai Liang, impressed with his abilities and willingness to end the fight, they offered an alliance to take down Shao Kahn and other threats to Earthrealm, an alliance Kaine accepted.
  • Like their brother Peter, both Ben and Kaine have a strong and healthy relationship with the Toku heroes. They remind Kaine of boteh Takuya Yamashiro and Yu Komor, Spider-Men who fought alongside them in the battle against The Inheritors.
  • Both Ben and Kaine were surprised to be greeted by the ancient Autobots and their leader, Optimus Prime. Evidently their brother had a brief, yet influential meeting with both the Autobots and Decepticons. Yet despite having most of Peter’s memories, they have no recollection of said meeting, or their existence. Which would have been useful, because then they'd know about how and why Megatron wanted them captured and experimented on. Peter had to inform them that their blood (and Wolverines) can be used to create a special energon that can supercharge a cybertronian to the point that a single soldier can match the strength of a Prime. With their background as clones, Megatron more than likely wants to mass produce them for a near endless supply of specialized energon, making both him and his army invincible.
  • It wasn't hard for the twin spiders (or more accurately Ben) to befriend the various heroes from other worlds. It’s not the first time he's done this. Meeting the students of U.A. High School was considered refreshing for Ben, especially when meeting All Might, someone who he, in his own words, felt "safe" being around. But despite their own problems they love their family dearly and will personally bring down pain to those that harm them
  • Applies to Ben Reilly
    • Ben Reilly was the first, and so far only, perfect clone of Peter Parker. As mentioned above, both he and his brother had fought each other on who was the original and who was the clone. They don’t like talking about it. What's worse is that after Ben was killed, he was soon brought back by Miles Warren, The Jackal, only to be immediately killed again. Warren repeated this for about 25 times, each death being purposely long, painful and traumatizing. This lead to Ben snapping, giving Warren a taste of his own medicine and Ben becoming the second Jackal. Thankfully everything got better later.
    • Thanks to Ben's repeated death and resurrections, the Houses of Death and Postmortem and Life and Vitality have taken notice of him, and not all of the residents have his best interest in mind. Dhuum has always hated how people can just wait a while before coming back to life, both in and out of Pantheon. While Ben's situation wasn't his fault or in his control, Dhuum isn't hearing any of it and has repeatedly gone out of his way to put a permanent end to the Scarlet Spider. And as bad as it was being a target of Dhuum, it was even worse when it was revealed that Death (Final Destination) was also after Ben's life. Ben knew that his luck was bad, but the numerous ways he nearly died was extreme even for him. Thankfully his Spider-Sense has kept him safe, eventually, he's gotten so used to them trying to kill him that his senses kick in before they even try anything.
      • Thankfully not all death entities want Ben dead, some have even been a bit supportive and even friendly to him. Namely Death of the Endless, Discworld, Grim, and The Maiden in Black. Neither Death (Discworld) nor Grim were thrilled to hear about Ben repeatedly coming back to life after dying, but they were more concerned about the state of Ben's soul than his violation of the circle of life and death.
  • Applies to Kaine
    • Kaine is the first clone of Peter Parker, hence the name Kaine. He was initially the "evil twin" to both Ben and Peter. But like everything in The Clone Saga, things were more complicated than it seemed. In Kaine's point of view, he was helping Peter, killing Doc Ock (didn't stick), framing Ben for murder (accidentally framed Peter instead). All because he wanted his fellow clone Peter, to live a better life. Even after his Heel–Face Turn, when Kaine learned the meaning of both power and responsibility, he would repeatedly act as an enemy to Peter. Mostly because he was working for someone who promised to fix his clone degeneration and absolutely all of them lied about it. It wasn't until the end of Spider-Island where he finally stayed at the side of good and when his degeneration was (temporarily) fixed.
    • Having killed the nigh-immortal assassins guild leader, a number of assassination organizations have sought him out to employ his services. The dead messengers made his answer clear, but it also marked him for death for actions, the fact that someone did make an order for his death didn't help either. Now Kaine has to deal with multiple different assassinations groups instead of just one. Fortunately, he had an easier time dealing with the Brotherhood, they offered to help keep the others off his back, as long he can help protect some of their allies when needed. Figuring that this was the best deal he'd get Kaine accepted, he was satisfied knowing that as long as he scratched their back, they wouldn't stab his. Plus he didn't mind having an excuse to kill someone and not have to worry about someone making him feel bad about it.

[down]I was hoping to give Signature Mon to The Dark Magician. The first of Signature Mons to appear in the main series, as well as the most famous and iconic among YuGiOh Ace Monsters, which also starts off a trend and theme in Level, ATK and DEF points for all Yugioh Main Characters. Except for in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, but that show is an an exception.

[up][tup] On Orochimaru's trope change, and while I do think Pikachu fits Series Mascot just as much as Signature Mon, I'll wait and see if there are alternate choices for a new character in regards to the former.

[up] I’m sorry there was a misunderstanding. When I gave you the [tup] I was talking about the SCP-001 (Dr Clef's Proposal) for Garden of Eden.

That said I do think that what you have on The Factory to be pretty good, and if you can add The Batman Who Laughs as an additional ally and Ultimate Reed Richards/The Maker with Teeth-Clenched Teamwork (because he's trying to make the world a better way placesort of) then you can have my [tup].

Colonel Noodle, God of Noodles (Baby, Burger Shop's Son)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/colonel_noodle_8.png
  • Potential House: Meals (A to M)
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: A noodle burger. Alternatively, Colonel Noodle's afro and shades.
  • Theme Song: Noodles Can't Be Beat
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Badass Longcoat, Battle Rapping, Big Bad, Catchphrase Borrower, Cool Shades, Freudian Excuse, Hates Burgers, Noodle Obsessed, Seemingly minor character was important all along
  • Domains: Noodles, Afros, Rapping
  • Allies: Lisa Simpson, DJ Grooves, The Colonel, Naruto Uzumaki, Po
  • Enemies: Ronald McDonald and other fast food-related gods, More potentially TBA
  • Admired By: Maya Fey
  • Opposed By: Min Min
  • Friendly Rivals: PaRappa
  • Afraid Of: Sanji
  • Colonel Noodle is eccentric, to say the least. Back in PaRappa Town, he started the Noodle Syndicate and attempted to turn every food in the world into noodles. His reason for doing so being that his father, the Beard Burger Master, forced him to eat burgers his entire life. Not only did Colonel Noodle lose friends because of it, but his mother ate so many burgers that she became a burger herself. Enraged, Colonel Noodle then formed the Noodle Syndicate and took it upon himself to show everyone how it feels to eat the same food your entire life. It was up to PaRappa to stop the colonel and show him that other foods can be good too. Colonel Noodle then underwent a Heel–Face Turn and even changed his outfit! Things stayed that way for a while, but didn't last forever...
  • Colonel Noodle was ascended by none other than PaRappa himself. PaRappa was excited to show Colonel Noodle all the cool foods in the Pantheon. Things went as planned... Until Colonel Noodle found out he was ascended as the god of noodles. Colonel Noodle had a Face–Heel Turn and took up the mantle as the leader of the Noodle Syndicate again. PaRappa wasn't pleased one bit.
  • Colonel Noodle's temple is a giant noodle bowl with every single noodle in the multiverse being there. There is also a small island in the middle of the bowl with a the necessities for living (A bed, a bathroom, etc). Colonel Noodle was very pleased.
  • At the beginning of his stay at the Pantheon, Colonel Noodle didn't interact much with others. However, one thing Colonel Noodle did would boost his notoriety by a long shot. Colonel Noodle achieved his goal: He turned every food in the Pantheon into noodles (Though it only lasted for half a day). Most were not pleased by his "prank". Actually, most opposed him. Most notably Ronald McDonald, whose business slowed considerably that day due to the noodles, causing him to warn the Hamburglar to stay away from Colonel Noodle, and Min Min, whose business slowed down a ton after the noodle incident. Colonel Noodle was warned by the head gods that if he did that again, they would ascend the Beard Burger Master in some way.
  • Despite most of the Pantheon growing a distaste for Colonel Noodle due to his prank, not everyone opposed him. Lisa Simpson was glad that Colonel Noodle turned food such as burgers and chicken into noodles, a vegan alternative. Naruto Uzumaki was also overjoyed at all the noodles, and began to make frequent trips to Colonel Noodle's temple (Specifically the ramen section of the bowl). Maya Fey grew an admiration for Colonel Noodle, realizing that noodle burgers (A mix of her two favorite foods) were possible. The Colonel was actually amused by Colonel Noodle's prank and grew friendly with him, from one colonel to another.
  • Colonel Noodle was able to befriend DJ Grooves, as they are both afro-trotting deities. They became so chummy that DJ Grooves even hired Colonel Noodle to prank the Conductor by filling his temple with noodles. Deities who were nearby the Conductor's temple at the time state that they heard him screaming that he will find those afro-trotting "peck-necks" and tie them to his train tracks.
  • Colonel Noodle was also able to befriend Po and Mr. Ping, seeing that they run a noodle shop (Colonel Noodle even helps out in the shop sometimes). Although they get along, Mr. Ping gets a bit nervous that Colonel Noodle will drive customers away, Po has convinced him to let him stay.
  • Although Colonel Noodle tries to act tough, there's one person that absolutely terrifies the leader of the Noodle Syndicate: Sanji. After hearing about his fight with Wanze, Colonel Noodle sees the chef of the Thousand Sunny as an enemy to noodles. Sanji, on the other hand, only knows Colonel Noodle as the guy who turned every food in the Pantheon into noodles.
  • Colonel Noodle and PaRappa are still friends, even after Colonel Noodle's change. Colonel Noodle states that PaRappa is his arch-nemesis, but he's secretly his best friend in the Pantheon.

Orochimaru has been officially moved.

[down] I should have been more clear. The Maker would use them as a way to further expand on his understanding of the SCP Foundation verse, he’s ware that science is different in each universe so he tries to understand and learn what he can. But want them destroyed when he’s done with them, because of how dangerous they are. Hence the Teeth-Clenched Teamwork. The Batman Who Laughs is alright, but maybe mention something about the Nth Metal. To see what The Factory can do with it.

Ricky Baker and Hec, Co-Gods of the Wild Wilderness

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rickybaker_and_hec.jpeg
From left to right: Hec and Ricky Baker
  • Demigods.
  • Symbol:
  • Theme Song: Makutehaku and Trifecta.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (both). Ricky was once Chaotic Neutral.
  • Portfolio: Wild Wilderness, Poor Communication Kills, Odd Couple.
  • Domains: Wilderness, Adoption, Journeys.
  • Heralds: Tupac (Ricky's pet dog).
  • Allies: Felonious Gru, Dennis the Menace, David Attenborough, Wright Anything Agency, Sirius Black, Lewis Anthonio.
  • Oppose: Charlie Kelly (Hec), Kinderheim 511.
  • Pities: Captain Mako (Ricky).
  • Enemies: Lady Tremaine, Scar, Granny Goodness.
  • Far away in New Zealand lived a Māori boy known as Ricky Backer, Ricky had been abandoned by his birth mother and due to his problematic behavior stemming from a dream of becoming a gangster when he grows up got shuffled around foster homes a lot. His luck seemed to get better when he was adopted by the middle-aged couple of Bela and her gruff husband, Hec, with Bela proving a loving, wonderful mother figure. Sadly, Bela died suddenly and left him only with Hec. Distraught, Ricky ran away from home but in his attempts to fake his death so as to not be sought out by the authorities ended up burning part of Hec's house while Hec went looking for him. After some hectic shenanigans that ended up making Hec look like a criminal that had taken him hostage, Ricky found a permanent home with a nice family he met on his journey while Hec was cleared of charges but left to live at a retirement home due to his house burning down, regardless their time together in adventures allowed them to finally become friends and the two set off in a new adventure to find the supposedly-extinct Huia bird, which they had found during their travels.
  • Following their quest for the Huia, the duo were ascended in a smoothly performed process, while at it they've had some fun exploring the vast planes of the Pantheon, now with much more preparation for the adventures they could face. Ricky has also taken to finding other kids to be friends with as well as people with who he could share his experiences regarding his orphaned status with.
  • One of the first allies Ricky made was Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool, a strangely friendly yet bloodthirsty mercenary, who due to his fourth-wall breaking capabilities, recognized Ricky's appearance from a kid he befriended, Russell, not to mention the similar attitude and self-esteem issues Ricky faced in his life like Russell. While Hec has made sure Wade does not influences Ricky too much, fearing that the mercenary's worst traits will be copied by his honorary nephew, but Ricky has said to him that that isn't happening with Deadpool himself trolling Hec as well on that issue.
  • Ricky's experiences in his orphanage and the entirety of his time as an orphan has left him somewhat averse to orphanages in general, however he's started to open up to the good ones thanks to his recent adoption by a nice family; on the flip-side bad orphanages or bad people in them have earned his hatred for the damage they cause to children that were once like him, a notable example was Granny Goodness, known for running an orphanage in Apokolips that mistreats and induces children into Darkseid's cause; all of which gave Ricky and Hec a low view of the old woman.
  • They both have taken to looking for the extinct Huia, giving them some interest in the eyes of conservationists such as David Attenborough. Attenborought invited the duo over to discuss and review their footage and sighting of the huia seeing it as a possible groundbreaking discovery and milestone for ecologists, both were happy to accept the offer and subsequently befriended David.
  • Hec made connections with people who have been framed of crimes they did not commit and had to pay the price for that with jail or worse. One of these people was Sirius Black, who had to endure the brunt of being accused for several murders of which his once-friend Peter Pettigrew was responsible and wouldn't be acquitted legally until long after he died. Hec feels bad to hear about how badly he got framed for crimes and how long Sirius spent paying for them despite his innocence, while Sirius was at least happy Hec got bailed out of his troubles quicker than he was himself.
  • The Wright Anything Agency are known for their cases of clearing the names of those wrongfully affected by the justice system, as such they were a company Hec liked to keep track of. They were a bit bewildered by just how Hec ended up in legal trouble due to the misunderstandings caused by Ricky's poor wording but are at least glad that he's no longer involved in that mess.
  • Captain Mako is a supervillain who grew up in an orphanage of rather bad caring methods and who ended up turning into a villain due to the abuse and mockery he faced in his time there, Ricky greatly pitied him for it, as despite knowing that he's a deranged villain with many crimes under his belt, he still can't help but empathize with his pains of being mistreated at an orphanage given how miserable he himself was in his own orphanage and the issue of never quite landing a good foster home until much later.
  • Lady Tremaine is someone that both Ricky and Hec grew to loathe as she had abused her step-daughter, Cinderella, to murderous extents at time even. She had little to say about the duo, considering them insignificant due to not being on her same social class... Or at least the one she used to be in. For what it's worth, at least Ricky has bonded with Cinderella over the feeling of being let down by a parent that adopted them.
  • Dennis the Menace is a young boy known for being a big troublemaker, as such he could relate to the brattier side of Ricky, though since he has many standards he was quite glad that didn't go any further than it involving minor arson and destruction of property through accidents. Hec finds himself a bit annoyed by the kid but otherwise doesn't minds his friendship with Ricky.
  • Ricky made a connection with fellow orphaned-now-Happily Adopted boy Lewis Anthonio. Lewis suffered a lot due to being abandoned by his mother at a young age in the orphanage and never quite getting to fit in any foster house due to his eccentricities, not unlike Ricky's rowdy behavior making his desire to find a foster family rather hard to achieve up until he found the right one. Lewis was intrigued by Ricky's adventures as much as Ricky was intrigued by Lewis' own time-travelling adventure.

Emma Bovary, Goddess of Unrealistic Romance Novel Logic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/madame_bovary_1024x743.jpg
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: A bottle of arsenic
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Wants to live life like a romance novel, but things don't work like that, drowns herself in luxuries she can't afford to distract herself from her piling debt, ultimately kills herself to escape her problems
  • Domains: Romance, Tragedy
  • Allies: Anna (Frozen), Charlotte LaBouff, Sayaka Miki
  • Enemies: Dr. Facilier, Ursula, Joe Goldberg
  • False Friend: Dorian Gray
  • Complicated Relations: Belle, Helen Graham, Elizabeth and Darcy
  • Emma lived a simple life in the French countryside as a reasonably well-off farmer's daughter. Ever since she was a teenager, she dreamt of her life being full of passion and glamour like in the romance novels she devoured when she was being educated at a convent. As an adult, she married a doctor named Charles Bovary, believing it might be a step to a more exciting life. Instead she found it dull, and Charles was mediocre and not the ambitious type, being content to live quietly in the village. Desperate to feel the strong emotions her favorite novels told her about, Emma made a series of bad decisions, namely getting involved with other men and borrowing more and more money to support a lavish lifestyle. She built up so much debt that she ruined her husband and daughter's lives besides her own, and as no one would help her, she committed suicide as she couldn't stand facing the consequences of her actions.
  • As a result of her obsession with living out her fantasies of being a heroine in a romance novel and the disastrous consequences thereof, she ascended to the Pantheon after her death under the domain of Thinks Like a Romance Novel, after the former holder, Anna of Arendelle, had left it vacant in order to take on a more presently relevant title for herself. Anna knows from firsthand experience how damaging such a mindset can be to one's entire life, so she was interested in meeting Emma and try to comfort her. But on the contrary, Anna was rather appalled to discover that Emma hadn't really learned anything from her mistakes, and was in fact absolutely enamoured with the idea of being a goddess (regardless of what she is goddess of), arriving at the conclusion that this meant her life had been remarkable after all (well, she is right in a sense). Despite the disappointment at this, Anna still keeps tabs on Emma, if only to make sure she doesn't end up in another unsustainable situation.
  • Right off the bat, she got tied up in the questionable-at-best company of Dorian Gray, becoming smitten with him due to his considerable good looks. Being a pathological hedonist, Dorian's interest in her is mainly what she can do for his own pleasure, but he does seem to feel some degree of sympathy for her frustrated attempts at seeking hers, especially how it led to both their undoings. Emma appears willfully unable to see Dorian for what he is, no matter how many deities warn her that his angelic face belies his rotten nature. Instead she has latched on to him as her very own Byronic Hero love interest, tormented by that horrid painting and misunderstood by all. It helps that he has become her most consistent access to the romantic life that she wishes for herself so badly, and he is very willing to maintain her impression of him by escorting her to balls and other such events like a gentleman.
  • Her destitute status at the time of her death is a subject of either pity or derision in the House of Commerce, depending on the deity. Someone who understands to some extent how Emma feels is Charlotte LaBouff, who constantly idealizes herself as a princess and dreams of one day becoming one for real, even though such fantasies would have been better off left behind once she passed a certain age. Despite that, Charlotte still keeps living a happy life; it probably helps that she is a naturally generous person with good friends, even though she is so spoiled. Charlotte happens to attend much the same social functions that Emma likes going to, so they've developed a rapport after some meetings, with Charlotte sometimes inviting Emma to tea parties in her own temple and playing at being princesses. Some hope that Charlotte's positivity and consideration for others will be a good influence on Emma to counter the hold Dorian has on her, though others feel like Charlotte's refusal to abandon her princess fantasies will just reinforce Emma's commitment to her own.
  • Emma could in fact be compared to many Disney princesses, given she shares with them a dissatisfaction for her current status and a wish for something more. But while those princesses got what they wanted after some trials, the same could not be said of Emma, obviously. One could be cynical and say that the Disney princesses had all the advantages thanks to being royalty, while Emma never stood a chance to make big changes to her life as a farmer's daughter married to a humble country doctor. As it happens, Belle does have similar origins to Emma as the daughter of a crackpot inventor. Belle even shares with Emma a passion for books, although Belle managed to keep her feet firmly planted on the ground even as she wished to go on great adventures. And just like that, she went on to break a curse assailing a castle and its inhabitants, ending up married to the once-monstrous prince. Hearing all this leaves Emma feeling more sorry for herself that she didn't have the luck to have extraordinary things happen in her life. Belle feels like perhaps that would not have been the case if Emma had kept aware of her reality instead of pretending it was something more glamorous than it actually was. Given Emma insists on feeding her delusions in the Pantheon even after everything that happened, she and the down-to-earth Belle don't exactly get along, though Belle does feel some concern for her.
  • Emma's unceasing hunger for a more romantic lifestyle leaves her vulnerable to certain disreputable types who would take advantage of her so they can profit. This was true in her mortal life as she fell prey to a Loan Shark, and is true in the Pantheon which has deities along the same lines, sometimes with a magical twist to it. This includes Dr. Facilier and Ursula, who both have the ability to make people's wildest dreams come true, but the price they charge for their services is higher than most imagine, even if they make themselves seem reasonable at first. Of course Emma, in her naivety, has come to think that magic is the easy solution to her woes, so she has a tendency to fall into their clutches and never quite learning her lesson when her allies rescue her (which is frankly quite exasperating to them), reasoning to herself that someday she'll be able to pay the price that they ask from her and she won't ever have to think about them again as she'll be too busy enjoying her new life. Facilier and Ursula are endlessly amused at what a willing patsy she is.
  • Helen Graham is someone who held some very romanticized notions, particularly pertaining to marriage, when she was younger. Unlike with Emma, these notions came from religious piety rather then novels. Also unlike Emma, she actually got a very rude awakening, showing how wrong her preconceived notions were and allowing her to do something to remedy her situation before it was too late, regardless of the fact that it went against what was acceptable at the time. Helen accepts that every girl has a time in her life where she's given to flights of fancy, but then comes a time when she must make crucial decisions with complete pragmatism. Emma probably missed the point, given Helen absconding in the country to escape her abusive husband and then finding a better partner was nothing short of romantic for her. On the other hand, working for her living as Helen did is decidedly not what she imagines for a more glamorous life. Helen finds this attitude unbelievable and wonders if Emma is beyond help already, especially considering how she totally disregarded her child's well-being (Helen's son was the biggest motivation behind her decisions).
  • Emma was sought by the Magical Girl Sayaka Miki, who felt the need to tell her not to let her romantic ideals cloud her rational judgement. This is certainly due to Sayaka's own tragic story, in which she used up her wish and gave up on her humanity to restore mobility to a boy she had a crush on, only to be very disappointed, to say the least, when this did not lead to him returning her feelings. Although Sayaka's wish was altruistic on paper, it was ultimately born out of a selfish, if unconscious desire to have that boy owe her his love, which is completely unrealistic. Ultimately, Sayaka's romanticized notions were what caused her downfall and death, rather like what happened to Emma. Unlike Emma though, Sayaka has learned her lesson, leading to her being able to see her shameful past self reflected in Emma's behavior, which is why she wants to caution Emma against it. She's had no more success than Anna or Belle, but she hopes Emma can see the light one day.
  • Has become a kidnapping victim of Joe Goldberg at some point or another. He is just very concerned about the way she keeps going through her life in a constant state of deluding herself and thinks she needs to be protected from herself and reeducated so she has a firmer grasp on reality. Which is, you know, very rich coming from a psycho like him, who has some very messed-up notions of what keeping someone captive really means, as a result of his twisted upbringing. Emma never enjoys it when Joe turns his attentions to her, as even she is not capable of viewing his kidnappings in a romantic light, nor can she bring herself to enjoy the books he gives to her in his reeducation attempts, as they are not her preferred subjects to be reading. Of course, her allies also bail her out of these situations, though not without lecturing her on how she is not so different from Joe since they both have deluded themselves about reality; Joe just happens to take it to a whole other, deadlier level.
  • Some joke that the best thing Emma can do in the Pantheon is to indulge in her reading hobby, because at least it means she's not going out and getting herself in trouble in her attempts to make her dream life a reality. The Pantheon's libraries possess a much wider variety of literature than what existed in her time, though the fact of the matter is that Emma is still primarily drawn to romance novels. Among the works she's had the chance to read is Pride and Prejudice, and she's become something of a fan of the lead couple, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, seeing much of herself in Lizzie as they're both dissatisfied with their situations, and looking up to Darcy as the ideal romantic partner, surly but kind deep down. Once again, she's probably missing the point, in that Lizzie kept herself grounded and dealt with her circumstances with wit instead of living in a fantasy land like Emma did. Also, Darcy's temperament is actually quite similar to Lizzie's, making it not that much of a fairytale romance, but more of a harmonious relationship based on shared interests and points of view. Lizzie and Darcy, for their part, find Emma quite annoying and rather similar to Lizzie's foolish younger sister Lydia, who wound up stuck in a bad marriage due to her own unrealistic ideas.

So, Kosuke Nitoh, the God of Phlebotinum Dependence (Cybernetics and Enhancements) doesn't actually have Phlebotinum Dependence? Like, Kamen Rider Beast of Kamen Rider Wizard doesn't have that trope. There's no entry for the trope in Kamen Rider Wizard's general tag, Nitoh has the trope just... listed without explanation in his character page, and even his God page has no mention of this problem, or indeed any mention of his domain. It just says he used to be the God of Animalistic Powers before Animal Man swooped in. Seems like a bit of an oversight.

Also, is it really so important for all these gods who have shown up in Fate/Grand Order to have their swimsuit forms displayed in the Pantheon? It's not as if the swimsuits are plot-critical or even diegetic, and it just feels voyeuristic and, especially in the case of minors like Abigail Williams, actively creepy.

[up] For your second question, it is important to keep them. They're not just costumes, but legitimate changes in their Class, complete with different Skills, Noble Phantasms, and even story segments for them in each Summer event. I don't support removing them on account of the above. For example, Abigail Williams, in fact, has differing alignments between her regular and swimsuit versions. Perhaps if all those swimsuit forms were just that, simple costume changes, sure, but that just isn't the case here.

[up][up] For Kamen Rider Beast, it's likely a relic of an older time when standards and quality control was much looser. I don't know if there's any other tropes he could take as I'm not a big Kamen Rider fan.

As for the Fate servants, I think the swimsuits images are there because they're treated as alternative classes for each servant in FGO, even if it's for the sake of silly fanservicey summer events.

@ThomasSmith: From what I can gather, Kosuke Nitoh/KR Beast fits Phlebotinum Dependence because the monsters he is contracted with, Chimera, depends on the mana of defeated Phantoms and if Nitoh does not provide Chimera sufficient mana, he will die from Chimera consuming his energy. It also explains why Nitoh is so hungry, since again, Chimera also feeds from Nitoh's energy. This problem later gets remedied when Nitoh found Helheim Fruits when he and Wizard joins the Gaim Riders against KR Bujin Gaim that can satiate Chimera enough that Nitoh doesn't have to worry about the lack of Phantoms.

But yeah, you do have a point that Nitoh/Beast's character page entry and Pantheon profile and the trope page barely mentions why he fits the trope. I might rework his profile later while considering this, so thank you for bringing this to attention.

[down] An 18+ tag would give a wrong impression to anyone who isn't aware of what this project actually is. It's not a good long-term solution for a problem like that.

Of all things to complain about, its fanservice stuff. There are more worrying problems than characters wearing swimsuits and all that. Makes me wish the Pantheons had a +18 tag before anyone indulges on the project.
