Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

@Mattman: I recall that Isaac and Sari was originally going to be one profile for Technological Pacifist and if there is an attempt at finishing that profile, I'm personally leaning more towards that idea instead of splitting them off in two separate profiles.

Also, there's something I find annoying about how there's a bit of an influx of Transformers suggestions despite the fact that the series is already on the Franchise Overrep Prevention Sandbox.

And this, I think, is what Pantheon Reservations And Adoptables is meant to do

First draft of Bean, Boggis, Bunce and Jennifer Honey. Other farmers in the pantheon? Those who were abused in their past that came to be protective of other abused people?

Franklin "Frank" Bean, Walter "Walt" Boggis and Nathaniel "Nate" Bunce, Godly Trio Of Consuming Highly Unhealthy Food

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/big_thin_short_trio_fantastic_mr_fox_7782.jpg
From left to right: Bunce, Boggis, and Bean.
  • Hall: Meals (N to Z) (House of Food)
  • Demigods
  • Symbol: A bottle of his patented cider (Bean), a fattening plate of cooked chicken and dumplings (Boggis), and a doughnut full of goose liver pate (Bunce)
  • Theme Song: Boggis, Bunce and Bean
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portfolio
  • Domains: Gluttony, Farmers, Vendettas, Jerks, Grumps, Stubbornness. Individually Apple Cider (Bean), Chickens (Boggis), Doughnuts and Goose Liver Pate (Bunce)
  • Heralds: Rat (more so in the film), Petey (one of Bean's employees), Mrs Bean (Bean's wife)
  • Varying opinion on: Peter Griffin (Boggis)
  • Allies: Eustace Bagge, Wile E Coyote
  • On speaking terms with: The Verminators (the three), Many providers and drinkers in the Hall of Alcohol, like Moe Szyslack, Barney Gumble, Drinky Crow and Tapper (Bean)
  • Rivals: Brand X, Mason Verger (the three), Colonel Sanders (Boggis)
  • Enemies: F.F Fox, Swiper the Fox, Dag, Reynard the Fox, Napoleon (Animal Farm), the Hedgies, The Murkrow Flock, basically anyone who try to steal from them
  • Opposes: ACME Corporations
  • Dislikes: Ed, Edd and Eddy, Unhygienix
  • Disliked by: Homer Simpson, Aoi Asahina (Bunce)
  • Uncertain relationship (will decide later): Bob Ewell (generally, also Bunce)
  • Bean, Boggis and Bunce are a trio of mean old farmers who've been gunning after Mr Fox for some time. He's been stealing from them, particularly Boggis' chickens, so naturally they want back at him. While somewhat justified, they go into overkill mode, leveling an entire hill with construction equipment, besieging its remains, and flooding the remaining tunnels with apple cider. Franklin Bean's smart and cruel as a whip and makes delicious cider, Walter Boggins has a bunch of beagles and is one of the best chicken farmers in the world, and Nathaniel Bunce is a goose and duck farmer; Bean is basically the ringleader of the other two. Mr Fox and his friends and family manage to escape them into the sewers and found a way into the supermarket, managing to take their stuff there.
  • The trio of farmers are still seeking to get back at Mr Fox, finding it personal, and this was their primary motivation for getting into the Trope Pantheon. In the book, he'd been stealing from them for years, though in the movie, it was a more recent development so they become even more unreasonable. However, they also get along with one another rather than arguing all the time. The Hall of Alcohol was interested in ascending Bean just because his cider is that good, and the House of Food wanted in on Boggis' chickens. Bunce...well he's a good farmer, and he's attached to both. After reviewing their case, the Court of the Gods felt they could ascend, under the trope of Nutritional Nightmare. They don't just taste their product, but live on it. Bean subsists entirely on his cider, Boggis eats three chickens smothered with dumplings for each meal (including dessert), and Bunce only has doughnuts filled with mashed goose liver paste. Frankly, they're surprised that they don't have more health issues.
  • They're not liked at all by the human community, though their Hated by All reputation isn't as apparent in the Trope Pantheon. In terms of providing food they're certainly not as hated as Mason Verger, who they consider a filthy nonce. Also, they don't want to be shown up by his meatpacking plant. The three have a solid position in the House of Commerce and even if they're not personally likable, people are usually fine working with them. Their villainy is more the extremes that they will go to retaliate against thieves. They especially hate foxes, setting up elaborate traps and ordering from the House of Weapons just to take out Swiper the Fox and Reynard. The latter tends to outsmart these traps, and the former often ends up having to be bailed out by friends...or a pitying Mr Fox. As far as all three are concerned, they won't rest until they're killed, stuffed and put on their mantle piece
  • Because of what big, irritable grumps they are, one of the few deities they consider a friend by any measure is perennial Asshole Victim and stubborn farmer par excellence Eustace Bagge. Well, maybe it's more they relate to each other, and Eustace is jealous of their success. But hey, from him that might as well be friendship. Bean and Eustace sometimes talk about their relationship with their wives. Despite their poor history with animals, there's one that they actually like, and that's Wile E Coyote. The coyote's constant failure in getting that Roadrunner and their own continuous struggle against the fox stealing from them allowed them to relate to the toon, plus it helps that he has no interest in taking any food from them. The trio of farmers would end up making the mistake of getting traps and other hunting gear from ACME, only for it to backfire and tear a hole through Bean's house. They're currently trying to find the right lawyer to sue ACME for as much money as possible, under the excuse of "false advertising".
  • Bean is a turkey and apple farmer, developing his own species of each. He hasn't bathed in a long time and his hearing is bad due to his ears clogged by earwax, and is possibly the scariest man living by one badger's estimation. He takes the leader role of the three, and as far as the House of Food is concerned, he brings the most value with his cider; it's like drinking melted gold, sunbeams and rainbows all at once. It may not be enough to win him friends in the Hall of Alcohol, but it's made sure he's made a pretty penny there. Lovers of alcohol can confirm that the hype is real, and both Moe and the Tapper have started serving it. One would think that Bean would stop caring about his vendetta with Mr Fox with such recommondations for his product and the money he's making. Of course, one would be underestimating Franklin Bean's capacity for holding a grudge. His cruelty really puts the apple farmer Applejack off, and to that he simply boasted that he's the one who managed to create a new species of apple.
  • Boggis is arguably the most successful chicken farmer in the world. If someone were to be a Worthy Opponent for the Colonel of Kentucky Fried Chicken, it would be him. Boggis isn't in the business of branding, but he definitely knows how to breed and sell chickens, and he respects Sanders as a rival. Bean and Bunce have mused that Boggis is showing more ambition than usual when the subject of fast food is brought up to him. With his voracious appetite for poultry, he can be a figure of dread for some chickens. He's even expressed interest in cooking Ernie, believing he would satisfy him for days. This has led to them being enemies as Ernie tries to rescue the chickens, and an odd dynamic with Peter Griffin. Namely, Peter fluctuates between agreeing with him in pursuit of poultry, and intervening because he's come to see Ernie as a Worthy Opponent and won't let Boggis take him out.
  • Bunce is the shortest of the three, and doesn't have the kind of star power that Bean's cider or Boggis' propensity to sell chickens has. However no-one will deny he is good at farming duck and geese. Homer and Aoi are well-known for their love of doughnuts, but filled with goose liver? They're not against it, but they certainly wouldn't subsist on them. They did purchase some of his home-made doughnuts to try, but they certainly aren't fond of him due to Nathaniel Bunce being no less abrasive than the other two farmers. Jake once took one of his doughnuts, apparently forgotting about the last time he did so, so Bunce brought out the long range hunting rifle. Seeing as how Jake is a magical stretchy god it ended as well as you can imagine.
  • Bunce has heartburn from all the goose and duck liver he enjoys, which makes him irritable but he and the other farmers have no plan to change their diet anytime soon. While Homer fell in love with Bean's cider, putting it under Duff Beer for what he likes to drink the most, he thinks subsisting only on it is ridiculous. His rival Peter Griffin tried a food truck for exceptionally fatty foods, only for it to go so overboard even Boggis was feeling a wee nauseous. Though the three don't have higher ambitions beyond "make our produce more marketable and take out whoever tries to steal it", the FLDSMDFR made them wonder. The SCP Foundation decided to test SCP-807note  on their diet, and much like the test on a Luther Burger, it had to be redacted.
  • The trio wouldn't call themselves friends, more so farmers with shared interests and a shared vendetta. Visually they have a similar look to the Ed boys, some calling Bean the Eddy of the group (in that he's the main planner). They scoff at this, as they're annoyed by the Ed boys antics as scammers and being tricky. None of them are fond of Unhygienix, calling him out for causing food poisoning and not being able to properly handle fish. He pointed out they're somewhat hypocritical since Bean hasn't bathed in ages and they reek. Boggis stinks of rotten chicken skins, Bunce stinks of goose livers and Bean is surrounded by the fumes of apple cider. In the trio's defense, they haven't run into any beef with the health inspector, though in order to be in better terms with the House of Food Boggis suggested maybe Bean could do with some showers. Bean grumbled and called Boggis an idiot, before admitting in hindsight that could be a pragmatic option.
  • It should be clear by now that they hate animals who would try to steal from their farm. They're spared no expense, hiring the Verminators to help them out. They avoid the more ruthless and petty behavior of the farmers and are more Hero Antagonist to the animals that try to take from them, but the trio don't mind so long as they get the job done and their money isn't wasted. The morality of whoever's trying to take from them doesn't matter; the three played the role A Lighter Shade of Black hunting down Dag, and they've gone full war path on the Hedgies just for taking an easily salvagable amount of their produce. The trio have a rivalry with Brand X, but not because of any high-minded idea. No, they just don't want them to steal their spot in the supermarket. Bunce thought they were been given credit for people wanting their products over Brand X, only for Bean to slap him saying that's a case of Damned by Faint Praise, not an actual compliment. Again, he's considered the smartest of the three.

  • On good terms with: Bruce Wayne/Batman, Bart Simpson, Ash Ketchum, Courage the Cowardly Dog, generally speaking non-evil members of the House of School, generally good parents
  • Enemies: Agatha Trunchbull (her abusive step-aunt), The Child Abuse Supporters (especially Lady Tremaine), evil teachers like Dolores Umbridge, Denzel Crocker, Great Professor Bias and Suguru Kamoshida, Vicky, The Witches (Roald Dahl), Junko Enoshima, generally anyone who Would Hurt a Child
  • Opposes: Generally abusive and particularly ignorant parents and guardians, like the Dursleys, Peter Griffin and Eustace Bagge
  • On poor terms with: Paul (Pokemon), Severus Snape
  • Respects: Greg Universe
  • Respected by: Son Chi-Chi
  • Jennifer Honey was born to a prominent doctor Magnus Honey, and they they lived near the village on a wooded large, old estate known as The Red House. She was usually known by the nickname "Jenny" to her parents. Her step-mom was nice enough, but her step-aunt was the cruel Trunchbull who capitalized on her father's death by mysterious circumstancesnote  and become her legal guardian. The domineering Trunchbull was someone she feared greatly. Eventually completing her teaching degree, she ended up teaching the bottom form at Crunchem Hall Primary School, where her aunt Agatha Trunchbull was headmistress. Unlike her Sadist Teacher aunt, Miss Honey was compassionate and approachable to her students, and she was willing to listen to Matilda Wormwood about her gifts compared to Matilda's ignorant and abusive parents. She helped Matilda practice her telekinetic powers, and the two worked to formulate a secret plan to scare Trunchbull and restore Jennifer Honey's income and inheritance. Finally standing up to her and getting Agatha removed, Miss Honey would end up adopting her and giving her the parental love her parents never gave her.
  • Miss Honey had a positive accord with her primary school and was seen as another Cool Teacher, so the House of School was interested in seeing her ascend somehow. Matilda especially, and the Trunchbull...obviously she didn't want the headache, and she was still very bitter about no longer having any power over her step-niece. Matilda Wormwood was able to figure out a good trope to get her into the pantheon and have her adoptive mother ascend; Adopting the Abused. Her biological parents abused her for her intellectual pursuits and not embracing the Insufferable Imbecile mindset that they did. They considered her a burden and was glad that Miss Honey adopted Matilda, which is probably the only good thing they did for her. Her dad was also a sleazy car salesman. Jenny and Matilda embraced each other with a hug, with Roald Dahl himself making a small addendum to the book; "and they continue to live happily ever after".
  • Jennifer Honey's official house is that of Family and Relatives, however she's one of many deities that prefers another house. Unsurprisingly, it's the House of School. She's also partial to the House of Theatre and Spectacle because of her interest in poetry. And yes, she has heard the reputation the Vogons have for it; she is contemplating never to go to their hall just to keep her fondness for it intact. She's a fan of word-play, puns, and gardening. Students in the House of School are glad that she gets involved, such as one incident where she was a substitute for Miss Hoover. Edna suggested this; she's cynical and apathetic, but she wants to see her students succeed at the end of the day and is a compassionate woman underneath the sarcasm. Lisa clamored for her to stay full-time, and while that didn't go through, Miss Honey likes to spend time with her off-class, with it helping that Lisa and Matilda are already good friends.
  • Another incident involved Edna getting Miss Honey to be the substitute teacher for the fourth grade. At this point, it was clear that she liked her and thought that she could help actually teach Bart something. He played a light prank of vandalizing the chalk board before she came in, only to get a roll of her eyes and she just cleaned up the board before continuing. After some time, he didn't have it in him to try and prank her again because she was too nice. She's encouraged the Electric Company, liking their eductational style, and tends to liven up the classes she's in. Eventually however she met her match when being a substitute for Miss Frizzle, as the Magic School Bus was just too much for her to handle. Seeing this, she decided that it'd be fine if she wanted to be an assistant, to which she's considering. Honestly Jenny is kind of jealous of how she makes school exciting.
  • Miss Honey is the good teacher to the Trunchbull's bad, and her issues with the latter are even more personal that with Matilda. After all, she lived in fear of Agatha Trunchbull growing up, and she's pretty convinced that she killed her father. It is unclear if she did, though her reaction to his apparent ghost leans to guiltiness. The House of Law and Justice is unable to prove it, though they have had a more successful pursuit in getting the Trunchbull busted for child abuse. James Trotter felt this was remarkably familiar, with Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge being as unpleasant as Agatha Trunchbull. And like Matilda, his adoptive parents (his bug friends) gave him the much-needed love his surviving relatives did not. Jenny noted another similarity between the two; they learned to stand up for themselves and fight back against their abusers. The author, Roald Dahl, noted "hey, I have a type of writing style, so don't act shocked".
  • While the primary reason for visitations to the House of School are because she's a teacher, Jennifer Honey has an important secondary reason to be there; keep an eye on the Trunchbull and other abusive teachers, in order to make sure the damage they can cause is minimal. Mr Crocker is probably the least bad as far as she's concerned, though not by much of a margin and he at least said he's sorry she could never prove the Trunchbull killed her dad. Admittedly that's projecting his own desire to prove that FAIRY! GOD! PARENTS! are real but it was much better than Great Professor Bias. Also, Kamoshida, who was arrogant enough to think he could flirt with her without getting his foot stomped on because she knows what he's done to his students. On the note of Persona 5, Jenny has an amiable relationship with Futaba Sakura. Asides from her being an introverted genius who is trying to clean up society with the rest of the Phantom Thieves, she was raised by an abusive and neglectful uncle after mother died, however Sojiro stepped in to take her from said uncle and become her loving father. Miss Honey would like to meet him one day.
  • As a good adoptive parent and someone who makes school fun, she has Chi-Chi's respect. On the flip side, she respects how open-minded Greg Universe is to his son's interests, completely unlike the Wormwoods. She is a card-carrying supporter of the Heroic Protectors of Family, as she's someone who works well with kids, broke out of an abusive household and helped Matilda escape her own abusive household. Out of them, she probably feels like she gets along the most with Mary Poppins. Jenny noted a bit of irony with one of the Protectors, Piccolo, in that he's a former villain born from ultimate evil, but ended up warming up to and sacrificing himself for the son of his enemy, now turned friend. Generally if someone is a good parent, and especially a compassionate teacher, they have a favorable relationship with them.
  • Conversly, she hates the Child Abuse Supporters and everything they stand her. But if there's any member of the Abuse Supporters she has the most personal reason to oppose, it's Lady Tremaine. Tremaine is the step-mother of Cinderella who after the father died, went full Wicked Stepmother and treated her like an indentured servant. This isn't even getting into her actions in Kingdom Hearts. She considers that abusive caretakers of any type, not just family members, are the worst, citing Vicky as one such example. The Witches are all the more annoyed that another adult from their author was ascended who cares for children, and someone close to Matilda, who they consider eliminating a priority. While Junko Enoshima is far more equal-opportunity on who she's a villain to, her fetishistic pursuit of despair and killing games for a school has her as an enemy of Miss Honey, like just about every teacher out there.
  • While it hasn't escalated to outright enemies, she is wondering why the hell hasn't CPS removed Peter Griffin from his kids. It doesn't help that he's the kind of ignorant jackass that Matilda's father was. She's sympathetic to a number of deities who were abused, such as Cinderella. She's not a fan of Eustace Bagge in the slightest and alongside Matilda, they help Courage pull pranks to get back at him. She's not a fan of the Dursleys, though only Vernon Dursley has remained unchanged, and she wonders if Harry was perhaps too forgiving with them. As far as the Dursleys are concerned, so long as they're not tied into any of the strangeness around Matilda and are left alone, they don't have anything to complain about with Miss Honey.
  • As Batman, Bruce Wayne has adopted a number of kids, many in hopes he can improve their lives. He took Dick Grayson in after he lost his parents in a similar way that he did, and he became his greatest success. Jason Todd...well, it's quite complicated, and he definitely tries to be a good parent but has a bunch of his own emotional issues. Damian is biologically his son though he would essentially get full custody from Damian's mother. With Ash, three of his Fire types came from abusive trainers, though at least with Paul he's become less harsh and more willing to consider The Power of Friendship. Toriel is a very loving foster mother, and cared a lot for Chara and Asriel though she outlived them. Ash and Bruce are on good terms with her, and Toriel is an outright ally.

[down]I think maybe wait a day, propose something else, then wait like another day or two and re-propose. That's what I do. The limit to proposing an idea is three.

Updated the entry of Rhapthorne, do anyone has examples of good aligned phoenix (the bird) deities who Rhapthorne would definitely hate due to reminding him off Ramia/Empyrea? Also, do you think SCP Foundation would classify him as Elucid or Keter?

  • Rhapthorne is the Lord of Darkness, the ruler of the World of Darkness. Not satisfied with his rule, he invaded the World of Light, intending to forcefully merged the two world together and then rule the resulting world of chaos. Thus he come to conflict with the seven sages and Godbird Empyrea, who triumphed over Rhapthorne and imprisoned his soul inside the Godbird Sceptre with a seal that could only be broken by the blood of the descendants of the sages. With years passed, one day the jester Dhoulmagus stole the sceptre, and get possess by Rhapthrone, leading to the chain of event that lead to his revival as he restarted his plan again. Coming into combat with Eight, Yangus, Jessica and Angelo, Rhapthorne this time is ultimately destroyed for good.
  • No one knows how, but one day Rhapthorne mysteriously returns from the dead, and somehow learning the existence of Pantheon, he aims to take over it and makes it part of his world of chaos too. Therefore, he led his army of monsters and attack Pantheon, Since they have history in slaying him before, Eight, Angelo were sent to deal with him, while they do managed to repel Rhapthrone, by then he had already taken over the House of Meteor-Summoning Attack for himself, given his favourite attack, Summoning the Wrath of Gods, essentially involving dropping meteorites on enemies. There has been speculation that Zoma might be the mastermind of Rhapthorne’s return, but so far not enough evidence suggests that.
  • Unsurprisingly, both Eight and Angelo oppose Rhapthorne’s ascension, meanwhile Rhapthorne himself is all too eager to take revenge in them for destroying him in the mortal realm. He would attack both of the hero’s on sight, and swears that he will make their lives so miserable that a permanent death would be a mercy. However, each time Rhapthorne will end up getting repelled. Meanwhile, Marcello still hold a grudge against the Lord of Darkness for possess him back then, and would reluctantly team up with Angelo to get his revenge back on Rhapthorne. At the same time, upon learning the evil that almost destroyed the world has been ascended, the cowardly Prince Charmles has been having nightmares about Rhapthorne, and started to be increasingly paranoid when wandering around the Pantheon.
  • The first ally of Rhapthorne is unsurprisingly, Zoma, with them even having a shared enemy known as the Godbird Ramia, they formed an alliance. Rhapthorne would now assist Zoma in conquering Alefgard, and Zoma having his minions to cause chaos in the World of Light in response. Zoma particularly look forward to Rhapthorne’s World of Chaos for all the despair and suffering it will cause, meanwhile Rhapthorne approve of Zoma’s action in sealing Rubiss away and destroying the Sword of Light, and is inspired to look for the Godbird Sceptre to destroy it too. Therefore, Eight had it put under constant guard with the help of multiple good natured deities to prevent Rhapthorne from destroying the only thing that can break his Shield of Darkness.
    • Rhapthorne also quickly found out that the The Mimics are also on the Pantheon, and quickly recruited them to place them around in his Black Citadel. The Mimics are glad to see another one of their master’s ascensions and welcomed his return. However, the same cannot be said to the The Slimes, who grew fearful to learn Rhapthorne’s ascension since Rhapthorne’s army are known to have attacked the slimes before and had threaten to destroy their world too. From then on, sometimes some of the more cowardly slimes will seek Eight to have him protect them from Rhapthorne’s rampage.
  • Darkseid is quick to notice Rhapthorne’s ascension as well, and seeing how Rhapthorne, when seeking to reunite with his body he would have possessed victims bent to his will, approved of his action and offered him a place in the Apokolips. Meanwhile, Rhapthorne is amused by Darseid’s desire of destroying free will, and found all the torturing happening around to be amusing. Since then, sometimes Rhapthorne will use cursed thorns to take part in interrogation. Recently Rhapthorne even secretly has stolen some Parademons from the Lord of Apokolips to serve him instead, finding those monsters to be rather useful.
  • Rhapthorne’s usage of thorns leave a sour taste in Viridi’s mouth. Given that the Lord of Darkness cruelly use them by cursing his victims to transform into them, which Viridi seen as a massive misuse and disrespect to plants. She claims that while she does hate humans, she found Rhapthorne to have gone too far, not to mention one of the victims that Rhapthorne possessed is Sir Leopold the dog, thus essentially making him an animal abuser as well. Rhapthorne just laughed at the goddess, calling her a brat that failed to see his greater image.
    • John Wick instantly put Rhapthorne on another addition of his hit list due to what the Lord of Darkness has done to Sir Leopold. Rhapthorne is completely unfazed, until one day when he returned to his Black Citadel and found out that many of his monsters were lying dead with either bullet holes or pencils stabbed inside them, much to the Lord of Darkness’s annoyance.
  • Rhapthorne found Dharkon to be another potential ally, given that Dharkon represented darkness, while intending to ally with that being, Rhapthorne found out that Dharkon is way too destructive for him, as he wanted to remake the world in his own images instead of outright destroying it. But if anything, the similarly destructive Galeem irks Rhapthorne even more given that they will envelop the world in disgustingly blinding light. Believing in his own might, Rhapthorne decided to take both of them on himself, and was hopelessly outclassed and destroyed. After respawning in his house, Rhapthorne swears revenge on them and makes them suffer.
Rhapthorne: "Meddling pests! How dare you made a fool out of me! You two will pay for destroying my previous body with light and darkness. But first, you shall taste the true might of my flesh and blood! Even death shall offer you no respite!"
  • Rhapthorne take a liking towards the Dark Matters, and not just because of their name. Rhapthorne also find out their tendency to possess victims to become their puppet to be similar to what he had done with Dhoulmagus. Therefore, Rhapthorne has allowed some Dark Matter to possess some of his minions and sent them towards rampage on the world. The Loc-Nar also drawn Rhapthorne’s interest due to its ability to make innocents go violence and even mutate them, thus Rhapthorne has plan to take control of it too.
    • Rhapthorne, having heard of SCP-035, seek to ally with it as well. 035 itself is fascinated by Rhapthorne possessing his victims and mutating them too. However, thanks to SCP Foundation the two have yet to form an actual alliance. Rhapthorne was also given the Keter destination after one of his attempts to free the talking mask.
