Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Page starter. Damn, that last one lasted like a whole day and a half, and there was only one profile post! Next one is big ol' 8800!

[up][up] Sure I guess [tup]

By the way, since I'm working on my first rework for Jules Winnfield, small question: Am I allowed to use the orginal profile as a template and just build over it? Because I feel there's a good amount of salvageable stuff in there

[up] Yes. As someone who has reworked profiles before, it's usually good to keep anything that doesn't need fixing.

Finally done with the 1st Airborne Division. Will be working on XXX (30th) Corps next.

  • Alignment: Generally Lawful Good

  • Allies:
  • Enemies:
  • Oppose: The Anglerfish Team, Maho Nishizumi
  • One of two British Airborne Divisions established during the Second World War, the 1st Airborne Division are considered some of the British Army's most elite fighting forces, alongside the likes of the members of the Special Operations Executive, Royal Marine Commandos, and Special Air Service. Originally established as the 1st Parachute Brigade in 1941, they would see actions during the North African Campaign, where the Germans called the Paras "The Red Devils", due to their exceptional performance in combat. As a Division, they would then be deployed to Sicily in 1943, where they would help secure the island against determined Italian and German resistance.
  • Following the increase of Nazi German and Fascist Italian presence in the Pantheon, Allied Forces, in response, decided to begin bolstering their own forces. The British presence in the Pantheon, which up until this point only included elements of the Battlehawks and personnel from the British 7th Armored Division, decided to begin adding in more units to counter the German reinforcements also ascending at the same time. Among the first units to be deployed to combat this new threat were the Paratroopers of the 1st Airborne Division.
  • With Eindhoven and Hell's Highway, both locations in the Netherlands, already serving as part of the massive Domains Expansion within the Pantheon, it was only a matter of time before other deities associated with the location and time period would ascend as well. The Red Devils would assist members of the US 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions in defending the former two Dominions from counterattacks by elite German infantry and armored formations, just as they did originally in their universe. And, unfortunately, like in their home universe, their communications were still not in their best condition, with many of their radios still being faulty upon their redeployment to their combat area of operations. Compared to their previous deployment, however, the Red Devils, thanks to being in regular contact with and having support from US Airborne Forces this time around, were overall less prone to cases of their poor communications dooming them. In addition, they were also in the process of receiving newer, working radios, which would hopefully solve their communication situation.
    • Among their closest allies in the US Armed Forces are Lt. James Steven Patterson of the OSS, as well as Easy Company of the 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division. Both had assisted the 1st Airborne during Operation Market-Garden in different capacities, saving the lives of untold numbers of their men in the process. Patterson had personally assisted several of Lt. Col. John Frost's men in attempting to defend Arnhem, helping to deliver to them vital medical supplies and taking out German machine gun positions and tanks, with the Paras returning the favor by helping Patterson rendezvous with a Dutch Resistance operative at the cost of some of their lives. Easy Company, meanwhile, had helped a number of British Paratroopers that were Trapped Behind Enemy Lines by covering their escape from German-held areas of the Netherlands.
  • Inevitably, much like in their home universe, some Paras would end up getting captured by Axis soldiers. Those who end up becoming POWs end up rather surprised by their varying treatment at the hands of their German captors. While some units like the Fallschirmjagers and the Heer Infanterie treat them reasonably well and with respect, others, particularly soldiers from HYDRA as well as Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse, treat them brutally, such as forcing them to be slave labor in their production facilities, or worse, turned into test subjects for cruel experiments. Fortunately for the Red Devils, many of the Western Allied deities that are ascended, such as Manon Batiste, Lt. Karl Fairburne, and Lt. Mike Powell, all of whom have experience in irregular warfare, sabotage, and infiltration, manage to free them from capture at one point or another. With this, news of HYDRA's and Deathshead's treatment of prisoners-of-war spreads, motivating many British paratroopers to continue fighting rather than surrendering or risking capture.
  • While mainly deployed in Dominions associated with the Netherlands, these British Paratroopers can also be seen operating in other sectors of the Pantheon, such as the Principality of Eylstadt, Omaha Beach, and even as far as War-Torn Berlin, often assisting other Western Allied units. In Eylstadt, the Paras, much like the American Paratroopers already deployed there, help train soldiers of the Eylstadt Army, particularly in the use of British weaponry that they're supplying to them as part of an effort to bolster the small country's defenses. Behind Omaha Beach, the Paras help sabotage German defenses, namely capturing and destroying radar stations, destroying artillery pieces, capturing French villages, and stalling German supply convoys and reinforcements. And while not deployed in Berlin proper, a number of them are often seen scouting the areas just outside the German capital, helping support the efforts of OSS operatives like Lt. Karl Fairburne and Sgt. Jack Barnes, both of whom have themselves worked closely with British paratroopers during different points of the War in Europe.
  • Unsurprisingly for the Paras, they're most often seen fighting against various Nazi German units stationed around the Pantheon, both in offensive and defensive battles. Their most recurring enemies are elements of the Waffen-SS, not unlike whom they fought in their home universe. Compared to the soldiers they fought back there, these Waffen-SS soldiers are still competent foes overall, but compared to other German units such as the Fallschirmjager, are not as dangerous as they look. In addition to them, they also regularly engage Wehrmacht units such as the aforementioned Fallschirmjager, their Evil Counterpart in the German Forces, the regular Heer Infanterie of the German Army, the elite Schutzvollstrecker, as well as elements of the organization HYDRA, specifically the Nazi Deep Science Division and Deathshead's Commandos, the latter three being noticeably better-trained and better armed than regular Wehrmacht or Waffen-SS units. Due to their training as paratroopers and size as a unit, they're mainly kept for conventional military operations such as airborne landings or supporting seaborne invasions, rather than being deployed for special operations similar to OSS or SOE operatives. Though, as mentioned, they are capable of being deployed to help smaller operations due to their expertise in unconventional warfare and being accustomed to operate while Trapped Behind Enemy Lines.
    • Aside from the Nazis, the British Paratroopers also engage some of the Nazis' closest allies, namely the ascended members of Fascist Italy slash Italian Social Republic, specifically the RSI Paracadutisti, who are essentially their respective Evil Counterpart in the Italian Forces. Compared to the British Paratroopers, though, the Italians are far fewer in number, not as well equipped, and are mostly treated as glorified bodyguards for their superiors, the Four Libertines. That said, these Italian paratroopers prove to be tough Elite Mooks themselves when encountered, with their tenacity and resourcefulness gaining the respect of the British.
    • In addition to infantry, the 1st Airborne Division's paratroopers are also capable of dealing with tanks, armored cars and armored half-tracks, and light vehicles such as supply and transport trucks, thanks to having PIAT Anti-Vehicle launchers in their inventory. The German 100th Panzer Battalion, equipped with Sturmgeschutz Assault Guns, Panzer IV Medium tanks, and even a handful of Tigers and King Tigers, learned this the hard way, when a 1st Airborne anti-tank unit managed to destroy, damage, or disable a number of their tanks during a skirmish around Hell's Highway.
  • Not unlike their fellow American troops before them, the British Paratroopers have repeatedly mistaken a number of deities from the Girls und Panzer universe to be actual Allied and German tankers, and have fired live rounds into the tanks of the Anglerfish Team's Panzer IV and Maho Nishizumi's tanks during a few encounters with both parties, both times with the British mistakenly assuming their tanks to be those used by the 100th Panzer Battalion. Fortunately, none of the girls were killed or wounded in the process. Despite this less than ideal first impression, the Paras manage to get along well with their associate Darjeeling, who instead commands and crews British tanks, not unlike the ones that British troops like them are accustomed to seeing and supporting.

Anything else to say (mainly regarding Nazo) or are these three ready to go up earlier?

Jeff and Hal, Co-Gods Of Villians Who Like To Banter With One Another

Jeff on the left, Hal on the right. Steve the Pirahna Plant is in the middle.

  • Symbol: A green sign of "Bowser's Kingdom" in colorful Yoshi's Island text
  • Alignment: True Neutral (Neutral Evil when they worked under Bowser)
  • Portfolio: Villain Protagonist, Deadpan Snarker, Generally Act Like Dicks, Just Doing Their Job As Mooks, Bantering Baddie Buddies, Butt-Monkey, Bad At Their Evil Job, Argue With Each Other But Are Still Friends, Those Two Guys (in general), Straight Man (Jeff), being Mistaken for Gay (Hal)
  • Domains: Mooks, Web Animation, Banter, Low-Ranked Villains, Dickery
  • Heralds: Steve the Pirahna Plant (much to their chagrin), Karate Duo #1, the Inaudible Thwomp, Paul Hammerbro, Rick Fincklestein, Big Boo
  • Interested in: Master Oogway
  • Allies: The Koopas, The Goombas, Lemmy Koopa, Bebop and Rocksteady, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, John Captain and Steve
  • On good terms with: Dr Drakken, The 501st Legion (specifically, the stormtroopers), Kronk, The Pilaf Gang, Jessie, James and Meowth, Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield
  • Enemies: Metallix (in the sense he scares the shit out of them), the especially egregious Bad Bosses in the Pantheon (such as Darth Sidious, Shao Kahn and The Dark Dragon), shady Faux Affably Evil chessmaster types like Lex Luthor, JP, and Noah Cross, Audrey II, hostile Zombies, the Umbrella Corporation
  • On poor terms with: Bowser (their boss, before quitting), The Piranha Plants (due to their bad experiences with Steve)
  • Bowser has many minions at his beck and call, ranging from the Koopas, the Goombas, the Troopas and many others. Among his numerous forces were two close friends: a Goomba named Jeff and a Koopa Troopa named Hal. The two would comment on the strangeness of their setting and the tropes and clichés present, while attempting to fulfill assignments given by Bowser and achieve general goals, such as kidnapping Princess Peach for Bowser. Neither were good at it, especially Hal, who didn't get paid, much to his chagrin as he attempted to change it. Jeff is usually the luckier one, though at the end of the day, both qualify for Butt-Monkey status. If that wasn't bad enough, Hal and Jeff were often pestered by a friendly Piranha Plant named Steve, whom they'd throw shade at and generally treated like trash. This ultimately bit them in the ass when, after successfully kidnapping Peach in a good disguise, Steve ratted them out, tricking Bowser into thinking they betrayed him before stealing Peach from under their noses to take the credit. He did all this, all the while leaving the pair to get their ass kicked by the Mario brothers. Steve's plan ultimately failed, and as for Hal and Jeff, broken and defeated, they decided to quit.
  • Jeff and Hal arrived in the Trope Pantheon to make ends meet, having received an invitation to do some low-level goon work. Hal had told his friend it was a good idea since some villains would treat them well if they made it up the corporate ladder, unlike their time with Bowser. Jeff figured it was pointless, but didn't feel like they had anything to do, and one thing led to another. They did get a job, but rather than being minions, they ended up getting the title of "Co-Gods of Villians Who Like To Banter With One Another". The premise of Bowser's Kingdom was all about these mooks bantering and making commentary, so it fit. While Bowser was annoyed at this due to their incompetence and supposed betrayal, they're super minor, and as long as they don't screw things up by being themselves, he doesn't care that much. Having been fired prevents them from having to worry about the Mario Brothers or Princess Peach...sort of. She's still quite sore about their incompetence getting her killed twice.
  • Hal's a basic green-shelled Koopa Troopa, and Jeff's a regular Goomba, the everyman Mooks of the Koopa Kingdom. Of course, as the series is set from their perspective, it's a bit more sympathetic. That said they're both jerks who cause trouble for people around them like having Steve set a Shy Guy on fire essentially for annoying them. Speaking of Steve, as cheerful as a Pirahna Plant as he was having mistreated him for constantly pestering him, of all people, to orchestrate their downfall with a humiliating loss against the Mario Bros in The Movie. Jeff and Hal distrust the Pirahna Plants, and they straight up avoid dealing with Audrey. That said, Jeff has commented he's got one hell of a singing voice. Despite the trouble they cause, Jeff and Hal still stand by their fellow Koopa Troopas and Goombas, bemoaning how they constantly get beaten by Mario and friends.
  • If you're wondering why Steve is in their profile pic, he photobombed them much to their annoyance. Unlike before he knows he bugs them, and did so intentionally to get back at them for being so mean to him. Much to their frustration, he has been one of their heralds due to the fact he was one of the recurring characters in Bowser's Kingdom. He often shows up to talk with Kronk, the overly nice minion of Yzma. Despite their frustrations with Steve Jeff and Hal find his charisma infectious, though Jeff likes to allude he's interested in Kronk for other reasons; cue the "I'm not gay!" Running Gag. Jeff and Hal sometimes bring up their Newgrounds, and note they've crossed over with other series before. An unfortunate portal transfer led them to find a Chaos Emerald when the Killer Robot was on the hunt and Jeff only able to stop them from dying by transforming via swallowing it. Metallix still got the emerald and they were lucky he'd grown bored of beating them up. Metallix scares the shit out of them, especially after realizing the extent of his actions; the two got lucky, basically.
  • The two have managed to set up a talk show, making sure not to include Steve (though sometimes he sneaks in), where they discuss their adventures. It's called "From The Mind Of The Minions" and it invites Mooks and other minions to discuss their service under a Big Bad or other big villain, allowing them to give the spotlight on them for once. The stormtroopers are common invites, as are other Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain minions. However struggling main villains like Dr Drakken are invited over occasionally, so long as they're the more comical type; the Inaudible Thwomp suggested a "interview with the boss" segment. At least, they think he did since again, its the Inaudible Thwomp. The Pilaf Gang and the Team Rocket Trio have managed to be repeat guests. One of the duo's sponsors is a suicide hotline as a behind-the-scenes episode revealed that Lemmy Koopa took his own life. They still miss him, though it's only the Lemmy Koopa of their 'verse that killed himself. They were very happy to see that Lemmy Koopa is alive and well in the pantheon, and despite their poor relationship with Bowser make sure to keep good relationships with him.
  • They won't host the Nazi Storm Elite, as space fascists are one thing but hosting ''literal Nazi"' is bound to lead their show being mired in controversy. Hidan isn't going to be invited even if he's a minion, as he makes his boss look nice. Jeff would rather not bring up the Hall of Flesh Eaters as he's not one for cannibalism, which is why he refused to eat a Super Mushroom power up. Hal was wondering what he thought about the mushrooms in the pantheon, but Jeff didn't like much of it. As he put it "well there's this god-wannabe, a bunch of Pokémon and those asshole toads; something tells me if they make a Hall of Mycology I'm not gonna visit just because I'm a fucking mushroom. Also, why do they get arms? I'm fucking sick of having to pick up stuff with my mouth".
  • The two were accused of being biased to a degree with how semi-regularly they had John Captain and Steve show up to their talk show, seeing as how they share a point of origin. Hal admitted that might be true to a degree, but Jeff scoffed at those accusations. It's more that they like their dynamic as soldiers making banter and being buddies while dealing with a fair number of misfortunes. He kind of wishes they didn't bring their dicks up in conversation, only because he's sometimes annoyed at his lack of a penis; he's a mushroom, after all. Hal is happy that their Steve is way less annoying than the Pirahna Plant, who still ends up photo-bombing them whenever they try to change their portfolio picture. Vincent and Jules have been invited on their talk show as a duo who have a bunch of conversations on a variety of things. Foot massages, fast food, whether or not they experienced divine intervention, how fuckin' dumb Vincent is, etc; right up Hal and Jeff's alley.
  • They've expressed some commentary on other deities, some minions, some heroes and just some other subjects. Jeff has wondered if Ripto has Crash and Gulp as his Co-Dragons is so he can call himself the smartest guy in the room, though Hal admitted they're still better at the whole villain thing than them. The two agree that they could never understand Vanilla Ice being so absurdly loyal that he cut off his freaking head just to give DIO some blood. Since Hal is a turtle, he likes the idea he could somehow get training under him but admits that's a pipe dream at best. Jeff has mentioned he's heard of a couple mushroom monstrosities like Cyth V'sug and Morrigan Lugus, and as much as he's bemoaned his lack of hands he's glad he's nothing like them.
  • Jeff and Hal aren't fond of those Faux Affably Evil chessmasters out there as it reminds them of the stunt Steve pulled on them. They're talking people like Lex Luthor (pretends to be a businessman while trying to work against Superman), JP (pretends to be a philanthropist but is really there to bleed as much money from everything as possible) and especially Noah Cross (pretends to be a friendly industrialist when he is anything but). Again, Jeff and Hal are just Mooks, and not even good at the job. Jeff wondered "does this make us egotistical", with Hall musing "no, of course not, fuck those guys, they're assholes". Sergei Dragunov still believes it's laughable they think he'd be worth mention to them. He's a Spetsnaz officer so dedicated to doing his job that he's practically working himself to a zombie-like condition and barely sleeping, so he feels their poor work ethic is also laughable and wonders why they weren't fired before they were able to quit.
  • Their habit as bantering villain duos has them compared a bit to Peter and Paul, though the difference is that they're nasty villains acting as the main antagonists while Jeff and Hal are bumbling minions. It's more accurate to compare them to Bebop and Rocksteady, which they're free to make as they fit the Bumbling Henchmen Duo archetype, albeit in the role of protagonists. Cruella isn't interested in making a turtle suit, but she tends to rolls her eyes at them since they remind her of Jasper and Horace. While not villains persay Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are sent by the villain to kill Hamlet but repeatedly fail, and instead have a few mildly comedic exchanges. Jeff and Hal have taken a liking to the duo along with Bebop and Rocksteady as they feel they can relate to them and have some decent banter regarding their situations and the oddities around them.
  • While Hal doesn't have anything against the LGBTQ+ crowd, he's annoyed at the time he somehow ended up in a Pride Parade because he keeps being mistaken for being gay, mainly by Kamek. Though both are self-admittedly inept at the whole villain thing they do a surprisingly good job at disguises by pretending to be Mario and Luigi despite beeing a Goomba and Koopa Troopa. The House of Sports notes that they are surprisingly good at improv during athletic sports, having come second only to Team Super Awesome Dynamite Platinum Bros, who mind you won 12 times in a row. Some of their adventures have included dealing with a Zombie Apocalypse during the Halloween special, and being on the run from Star Fox as a result of accidentally violating airspace rules. They'd rather not start a brudge with that crew. As for zombies, they suspect the outbreak probably had something to do with the Umbrella Corporation
  • Though Bowser is typically a Benevolent Boss he certainly wasn't to them. In fairness they were quite incompetent and dicks, but still it's a factor into them quitting. The duo would rather work for someone who treats them right, and they've unfortunately discovered there are a lot of bosses who are a lot worse. Jeff can only comment that Shao Kahn and Darth Sidious must have a few screws loose and are notorious either for treating failure as grounds for execution or getting rid of them when he doesn't need them anymore. To Palpatine, Jeff and Hal are about as good at their job as Gary the Stormtrooper, or the stormtroopers that get memed on. Outworld and the Galactic Empire? Won't be fun times for them. They also heard about the Dark Dragon, who has a habit of killing those who refuse to join his service. Good thing for them they aren't magical beings or humans, but they're keeping far away from the scarier-looking dragon.

  • Domains: Fan Works, Homages, Chaos, Evil, Pride, Greed, Envy, Destruction
  • Interested in: Janemba, Dark Gaia, Unicron
  • On good terms with: Chaos (Sailor Moon), Mr Shadow/the Evil, The Light of Destruction
  • Rivals: The Shadow Dragons, especially Syn/Omega Shenron (except for Nuova, who's enemies outright with him), Cell, Xenophanes, Metallix (especially Metallix), Infinite, THE END, The Loc-Nar
  • Enemies: ALL good-aligned Sonic the Hedgehog deities (and many of the evil ones), but especially Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails and Dr Eggman, every artifact who's power is beyond what he can achieve (The Master Emerald, The Dream Stone, the Throne, The Infinity Gems), the heroic Dragon Ball deities, Zamasu, Samurai Jack, Vulkan, Anne Marie/Rogue, the Sailor Senshi, pretty much everyone given his goals
  • As people use the Chaos Emeralds for ill-gain, it causes negative energy to build up. Eventually this piqued into a being born from it, who by nature seeks ever greater power; Nazo. Having the form of a super hedgehog, upon his awakening he immediately goes after the Chaos Emeralds in pursuit of reaching a perfect form, and makes his entrance by blowing up the city he stole one for just because he can. He proved himself a formiddable opponent in beating Knuckles, Sonic and Shadow, and even killing Tails, though Knuckles is able to revive him. It took the combined might of Super Sonic and Super Shadow to defeat him...in his base form. But through gathering the Chaos Emeralds he reached his perfect form, stating his intention to destroy the Earth and scatter the pieces of the Master Emerald across the cosmos. A prideful being, he knows no matter how strong he gets the infinite power of the emerald is beyond his reach, and he refuses to be subordinate to it. To even equal him, Shadow and Sonic didn't just have to go Hyper, but combine into Hyper Shadic. And even then, they needed to find a way to sap his power from him and undo his Perfect form so as to ready him for the killing blow.
    • This would not be the end of Nazo, however. Eggman had developed an army of Metal Nazos while keeping the original Nazo as a power source and prisoner, having regenerated him from some scraps and put a failsafe to shut off his heart. However through using the old Mecha Sonic parts incorporated in his revival Nazo was able to figure a way out of the control, tap directly into the Master Emerald and gain a new green form known as Chaos Nazo. With it he was able to get out of his control and apparently obliterate Eggman. Due to the differing circumstances and only needing the Master Emerald Chaos Unification is out of the picture, and and he has the power to absorb more at will from any source. Through Hyper Forms the heroes have enough in abundance to match his power and energy to spare. The heroes' plan was to seal the Master Emerald in an Item Box and deny him the energy. In the fight he managed to mortally wound Shadow, but was struck by Knuckles' haymaker and knocked out into space. Time will tell how their fight will go in Act 3.
  • In wait of an official continuation, Nazo followed the energy signal of Knuckles, finding himself in a new place he didn't recognize but one brimming with power. Power he sought to obtain for himself, to surpass, but also a sense there were many beings like himself in mindset and goals. He realized he was in the Trope Pantheon where ascended residents are considered gods, which he felt fit him already. And there were beings he wasn't aware of, like THE END and Infinite. He's particularly interested in Dark Gaia due to being an entity of negative energy and darkness with ties to the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and his friends were on red alert when they heard of a familiar killer "hedgehog" causing trouble, and like some of the heavy hitters in their verse he needed to learn the ropes. He ended up ascending as the "God Of Hating An Object", due to his envy and contempt towards the Master Emerald. Nazo is hoping to get Sonic and Shadow out of the picture first, both recognizing them as the threat they pose to him and wanting to relish in their demise more than anyone else.
    • Because he's only focused on his own goals and is decidingly malevolent, he doesn't really have allies within the canon 'verse or its other continuities. Closest would probably be the Sonic the Comic version of Dr Ivo Robotnik, only in the sense of wishing to witness all his enemies die with him akin to his version of Chaos being released. THE END is not impressed by Nazo, at least not yet, which the hedgehog-shaped entity sees as a challenge. However, he is also curious about what this entity embodying entropy and nothingness really is. Nazo's main rival in terms of canon characters is Infinite, another homicidal Smug Super with a desire to prove himself and envy at his core. Nazo can only imagine what he could accomplish with Chaos Energy complimented by the Phantom Ruby.
  • Base Nazo's design comes not from some scrapped character, but a scrapped Super Sonic form from Sonic X. Even before Nazo Unleashed, it had shown up in fanwork, and his stylish presence and villainous competence helped him be one of the fanbase's recurring fanon characters. Within the same franchise he shares this with Shadic, Sonic.exe, Omletta/Eggette, various glitch characters and more. However there is one Sonic fan character Nazo freely compares to himself, as they have similar goals of a destructive rampage for ever-greater power, total ruthlessness and even from Newgrounds; Metallix. Nazo sees him as one of his greatest challenges, recognizing their similarities. Similarly he sees Xenophanes as a rival, however they go about it in different ways. Nazo would rather get to the point even if he's a pretty cruel individual, while Lord X wants to savor that cruelty and he believes that maybe Nazo would have more fun in relishing things. Still, to each their own.
  • On the note of the "Fleetway" continuity, Nazo has learned of the psychopathic Super Sonic that acts as the Mr Hyde to Sonic's Jekyll. He admits he's interested in the being, as this malevolent entity born of Chaos Energy is similar to himself. Not to mention his design comes from a rejected Super Sonic deisgn. Now, how would they square up with one another? Well Nazo's not one to boast, but he already has a decent Healing Factor and lack of stamina issues in base. When he's Hyper Perfect Nazo, a planet-destroying blast takes him out for like seconds before recovering fully. Amusingly, he's kind of frustrated when his enemies also can recover from mortal blows, like when he got into a fight with Vulkan in pursuit of further power by investigating the Warp. Why was Nazo pursuing that Chaos specifically? Well, as a force born of negative emotions and feelings, it felt similar to him. Vulkan in turn wouldn't call Nazo a daemon outright, but something very close to one.
  • Though they are rivals, Nazo does entertain the idea of a temporary Fusion Dance against their shared enemies. He doesn't expect it'll pan out any time soon as he's only used to working solo and his interests are singular. As for how to word it, he thinks "Nazonophanes" or "Nazetallix" might work. He jokes that after Zamasu performed the Fusion Dance, its the Sonic villains time to try out fusion. He's very aware of the Sonic/Shadow and Goku/Vegeta comparisons and muses that even if they're heroes, the Saiyans have a pursuit of power he can relate to. They just told the wannabe Cell to shut it and plan to eliminate such a threat. While Cell likes that comment, wanting to prove himself against the hedgehog-like entity, the Shadow Dragons believe he is closer to them in nature, as evil beings born from cumulative negativity. Syn Shenron finds them particuarly apt, and he feels that Nazo should learn his place. When heard "is that a challenge", he only gave it a hearty laugh. Also, unsurprisingly Zamasu considers him an abomination that represents mortal wickedness. At this point, a lot of people don't waste time pointing out his hypocrisy.
  • Though the Chaos Emeralds being in the pantheon is something he can use, he is livid that the Master Emerald, the entity who he considers his Arch-Enemy right above Sonic and Shadow, is in the pantheon too. As a being ever hungry for more power the fact infinity is beyond his reach will forever be a chip on his shoulder, a fact made more complicated by his new Chaos Nazo form gaining power from it. This makes him one of the only beings in the Trope Pantheon to have enmity with artifacts in the Great Treasury, even if he will freely admit he also believes they may aid his hunger for power. To have all Infinity Gems in his possession would be so tempting, however he knows he would be limited to one universe. And the fact they cannot be used to destroy themselves vexes him as well. Needless to say, Nazo with the Infinity Gauntlet is a crisis nobody wants, as he both has the Healing Factor to compensate for damage and his insecurity would be a lot harder to exploit than with Thanos' self-doubt. Such artifacts he could see only useful to truly become infinite...and yet even that would not be enough, he'd always want more.
  • Nazo was shocked at the fact that not only do the combined powers of the Infinity Gems possess more power than the Master Emerald, but so do some other artfiacts like the Throne. Such overwhelming, indescribable power and the reality-reshaping impact is potentially beyond even his understanding, and it gets under his nerves he can never obtain that power for himself. The Dream Stone is another artifact that makes him feel inferior, however like the Infinity Gems he would be a fool not to desire the power it grants. "Dreamy Nazo" is certainly a form he would appreciate. However he makes it very clear that once he gets all he could want from these artifacts he would contemptuously scatter them so that nobody can ever utilize them again, and for a peace of mind. The sentient artifact known as the Loc-Nar is an entity that Nazo regards as somewhat of a rival, eyeing its power and influence.
  • In essence Nazo is like Aku, a being Made of Evil. That being said like Aku this doesn't invalidate his Complete Monster status as Dark Sonic was influenced by negative Chaos Energy but is able to do good and calm down. He possesses moral agency and his motives are ones embedded in pride, greed, envy and blatant indifference to other life. Unlike Aku Nazo doesn't want to rule the universe so much as destroy it, albeit for similar reasons as Aku believing that Dystopia Justifies the Means. Aku is mostly ambivalent to Nazo, mind you, though sometimes he likes to poke fun at how he's a clear Expy of Omega Shenron. While rivals with the Shadow Dragons as mentioned previously, Nuova Shenron sees him as an enemy outright and muses how despite also being born from negative energy he has a code of conduct and morality unlike the others. Nazo would say it's more a double-negative given the wish that created him was by a villain, though in all honesty he doesn't bother listening to moralizing arguments.
  • Going back to the Dragon Ball influences, he could be compared to Janemba, though he lacks the reality bending. Nazo admits he is impressed by this being born from the sins of the damned, however he considers Janemba's more playful chaos not his thing. Since he is an embodiment of negative energy, this makes him similarly vulnerable to Samurai Jack's blade as with Aku, so whenever Jack feels like interfering in his next scheme he'll make a mental note not to play around. Of course in terms of sheer firepower he has an edge, but Nazo knows he can't get too cocky. If Goku and Vegeta are going to make problems with him he's going to make sure they never form into Gogeta since he is incredibly vulnerable to the Stardust Breaker. He is additionally cautious around Rogue due to her energy absorption powers. With how he was defeated the first time around, he wants to be cautious with those types.
  • To be frank, Nazo isn't one interested in allies. It's not like he had relied on allies before and the mix of his sheer self-centeredness and goals of universal annihilation do not warrant allies. That being said, he has found entities in the Trope Pantheon he finds himself partial to. Predictably, they're similar in nature. The nature of the Chaos fought by the Sailor Senshi feels like some grander scale version of the force that created him. He refuses to acknowledge Chaos is better than him in scope and effect, however he will admit there's a kindred spirit. Nazo has commented on Mr Shadow and the Light of Destruction favorably too, the former attempting to deal with certain artifacts, the latter being this continuous and corruptive force, and both being these forces of elemental evil. Different flavors of elemental evil from Nazo, but ones he feels some recognition with. He's not aware of the Idea of Evil, but if he did it's believed he wouldn't hold respect for it. Nazo is aggressively independent, and while done in an exceptionally warped way the Idea of Evil is providing an answer for the Problem of Evil people asked for. To serve in any form, even if so twisted and self-destructive, is something he looks down on; Nazo is motivated to be second to nothing.

I have two new proposals I'd like to make:

The Dominion, Unholy Evil Counterpart Organization

  • The Big Bads of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the Dominion are the reigning superpower of the Gamma Quadrant and essentially a darker version of the United Federation of Planets. Whereas the Federation is a democracy in which all species under it are voluntary members, the Dominion is a totalitarian empire that forces races to submit to it. The Federation is an egalitarian society where all its races are treated equally, while the Dominion exists primarily to benefit its Changeling Founders, while its two primary servant races — the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar — are restricted to certain roles by the Dominion's enforced caste system.

Neo Descal, Unholy Fleet of Villainous Lineages

  • Reason: The Neo Descal are the descendants of the Descal, a group of space pirates who conquered Earth, with the leaders of Neo Descal all being directly descended from Descal's Three Shoguns. In the centuries after Descal conquered Earth, the bloodlines created by the Three Shoguns would expand the domain that their ancestors established and eventually develop into an intergalactic empire on the verge of conquering the universe, leading the Sazer-X resistance to travel back in time hundreds of years in order to stop the Descal before they could take over Earth.

Just imagine something here.

Here's my current draft for Cobra Commander. Let me know if you think it's ready to go up.

Cobra Commander, God of Nebulous Terrorism (Old Snake, Adam DeCobray, The Doctor, Rex Lewis)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/204a0d3e89b5bf5bafaa21c3ff06f17b_removebg_preview.png
Art by Scott Dalrymple
Alternate design
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The COBRA insignia
  • Theme Music:
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Portfolio: Ultimate Authority Commanders, Sinister Snake Imagery, Terrorism with the only stated goal of World Domination, Cool Masks, A Deliberately Obscured Face, Glorious Leader, Big Bad, Loudly Proclaiming His Evilness Before The World, Sssssnaketalk, Lacking a Proper Name (except in some continuities), Magnificent Bastard or a Complete Monster or both, depending on the incarnation
  • Domains: Terrorism, Militarism, Snakes, Conquest
  • Heralds: The unascended members of COBRA (Destro, Major Bludd, Dr. Mindbender, Storm Shadow, Firefly, and Tomax and Xamot)
  • High Priest: Ali al-Saachez
  • Followers: Downfall
  • Underlings: The Baroness
  • Allies: Wild Dog, Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Captain Mako, Scirocco, Black Scorpion, The Brotherhood of Evil, HYDRA, SHOCKER, Starscream, The Shredder, Skeletor, Lex Luthor
  • Rivals: Megatron, Ra's al Ghul, The Evil Geniuses, Great Professor Bias
  • Enemies: Conrad S. Hauser/Duke, Snake Eyes, Steve Rogers/Captain America, Captain John Price, Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, Team America, James Bond, Solid Snake, Sam Fisher, Nick Fury, Max Steel, The Double Kamen Riders, General Shepherd
  • Interested in: Colossatron
  • Cobra Commander is the mysterious leader of COBRA, an international terrorist organization bent on world domination. His true identity is unclear, and the various accounts of him vary quite a bit in their explanations as to who he is, with some claiming he's actually a scientist from an underground civilization of snake people, while others say he was simply a car salesman before he founded COBRA. Despite these varying explanations, the one constant that remains between Cobra Commander's various incarnations is that he's largely unaffiliated with most political ideologies and his goals don't seem to go much deeper than world domination.
  • While Cobra Commander is a threatening and imposing leader in most of his appearances, the incarnation of him in the Sunbow cartoon is inexplicably a Dirty Coward who had to put up with constant betrayals from his underlings, and whose most well-known catchphrase was "COBRA, RETREAT!" This discrepancy has confounded a number of deities and led some to believe deception was involved. Some claim that his cowardice was all an elaborate ruse to get his enemies to lower their guards and lure out any threats to him. Others simply say that the cartoon itself was merely propaganda from GI Joe designed to make the Commander and the rest of COBRA look like a bunch of buffoons.
  • Since apart from the Baroness, most of the other COBRA top brass aren't ascended, Cobra Commander has kept them as his heralds, though he keeps one eye pointed behind him just in case any of them try to backstab him and take his place in the Pantheon. He has also employed Wild Dog as an additional enforcer, being greatly impressed by the merc's reputation as a terrorist-for-hire able and penchant for surviving things as seemingly fatal as explosions. Wild Dog meanwhile is happy to be Cobra Commander's triggerman so long as he gets his payday.
  • Has a shaky relationship with Megatron in the present day. While COBRA and the Decepticons have worked together before, it usually ends with them betraying each other. Currently, the Commander and Megs are rivals, and don't show any signs of teaming up any time soon. He has however formed something of an Enemy Mine with Starscream seeing as how the Decepticon second-in-command also wants to remove Megatron from power. It helps that they share similar voices in some continuities.
  • In addition to the Joes already in the Pantheon, Cobra Commander has drawn the ire of deities like Captain John Price and Soap MacTavish given his status as a terrorist leader. Even their nemesis General Shepherd dislikes COBRA due to his own experiences with terrorism and doesn't want to see them gain a foothold. Captain America also sees COBRA as his opponents for how they threaten classic American ideals with their plans for a one world order. Opposing COBRA most of all however is TEAM AMERICA!!! given their commitment to stopping terrorism worldwide. It doesn't help that COBRA has even gone as far as trying to destroy symbols of America like the Statue of Liberty on several occasions. That act alone has pretty much elevated Cobra Commander to the number one spot on their enemies list.
  • In spite of all the enemies he's made, Cobra Commander has also found a hefty number of allies in his fellow terrorists in the Pantheon and has met with the leaders of both SHOCKER and HYDRA to discuss forming a coalition against all the superheroes in the Pantheon. Though while the amount of enemies they have in common has kept them solid allies for the time being, they still all have goals regarding world domination, and Cobra Commander isn't willing to share in the long run.
  • Cobra Commander isn't above allying with criminal syndicates if it furthers the objectives of COBRA. He's formed a mutually beneficial partnership with Lord Recluse and his Arachnos organization, as he believes that their resources could be of benefit to COBRA, and in exchange has loaned them one of COBRA's Weather Dominators. He has also made a pact with the Shredder and his Foot Clan, helped by the fact that both he and Cobra Commander are fellow 80s cartoon villains.
  • In response to COBRA's expansion in the Pantheon, Nick Fury has devoted part of his espionage network to combating the network spies that Cobra Commander has put together to obtain intel for COBRA. Other spies, including James Bond, Solid Snake and Sam Fisher have also made separate efforts to gather information on COBRA and their next terrorism plot. The Avengers and Kamen Riders 1 and 2 also oppose COBRA due to the coalition they formed with HYDRA and SHOCKER, as they naturally weren't happy to hear that their sworn enemies now have another terrorist organization working alongside them.
  • While Cobra Commander and Ra's al Ghul both run similar terrorist organizations, they clash too much in terms of methods and goals to be considered proper allies, though for now they've agreed to stay out of each other's way. The same can't be said for the Evil Geniuses, whom Cobra Commander doesn't get along very well with. While he respects their drive for world domination, they're still his rivals and he's not going to let them conquer the world instead of COBRA. The Evil Geniuses meanwhile are just frustrated by the fact that whenever one of them gets close to finishing their doomsday device, Cobra Commander blows it up with one of COBRA's Kill Sats.
  • Is known to carpool with Skeletor, Mumm-Ra and Lex Luthor. Outside of that, he's generally on good terms with them. Skeletor's ambitions of taking over Castle Greyskull and Eternia don't threaten Cobra Commander's goals of world domination, at least for the moment, so he's been able to remain allies with him, and he sees a covert alliance with Lex Luthor and his corporation as a step that advances his goals.
  • To say Cobra Commander doesn't get along very well with Great Professor Bias is understating it quite a bit. While the two already share conflicting desires for world domination, Bias is megalomaniacal to the point where he's sought to brainwash everyone into eternally bowing to him, something that even Cobra Commander finds to be too extreme. He may want to rule the world, but he's content to rule it without people worshipping him constantly.
  • Has taken a great interest in the segmented mecha known as the Colossatron due to its serpentine motif and destructive capabilities. He's put COBRA's research team to work finding ways to harness it and its ruinous power, in the hopes of turning it into a superweapon for COBRA and using it to blitz his enemies.

Just imagine something here.

Well I thought that Cobra Commander would be despised by most deities in hall of Family and Relatives since you know he buried his own son alive and then killed him with poisoned needle just to show how cruel maniac he might be. And in comics (original sources) he was actually taken serious and none of his actions played for comedy, honestly just like Skeletor (who also in original comic was more evil, dangerous and competent but turned into comedic villain for tv series)

Max Fischer, God of Extracurricular Enthusiasts

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rszmaxf.png
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: The Rushmore Academy emblem
  • Theme Music: Ohh La La
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Brilliant, but Lazy, Modern Major General, Small Name, Big Ego, Elaborate University High
  • Domains: School, Activities
  • Heralds: Herman Blume, Rosemary Cross, Dirk Calloway, Margaret Yang, Bert Fischer
  • Allies: Steve Zissou, Miyuki Shirogane, Mona from WarioWare Inc., John Keating, The Muppets (more–or-less)
  • Avoids: Freaky Fred
  • Foil to: Benjamin Braddock
  • Max Fischer is a student at the prestigious Rushmore Academy who takes part in several extracurricular activities, but isn’t doing that well when it comes to actual classes. While his cavalier attitude about his time at the university doesn’t sit well with most (and he would later get expelled and sent to a public high school after trying to set up an aquarium without getting approval), he does find friends in disillusioned businessman Herman Blume and a potential romance with teacher Rosemary Cross. Max’s egotism ends up causing more trouble for himself after getting in a fight with Herman over their attraction towards Rosemary, who is more than aware about the age difference between her and Max. After realizing how his behavior has hurt his friends, Max mends his friendships, comes to terms with how he won’t be able to get together with Rosemary, and makes a Vietnam War-themed stage play.
  • With how well his last couple of plays turned out, it was a matter of time before Max decided that he had big plans for the future of the Max Fischer Players, but he hadn’t exactly figured out the specifics of such. It turned out someone who saw his Vietnam War play was so impressed by it that they would ask Max to take part in a festival dedicated to entertainment with a new play. Max took up the offer, though it would take a while for the play’s story to come to fruition and the festival was in the early stages of planning when the offer came in. Eventually, the festival took place and given that it was taking place in a location far from Max’s home, the play he wrote ended up being a science fiction story about discovering a new world. The play went over well with the festival attendees and after getting a glimpse of how wide-reaching the Pantheon ended up being, Max decided that the Max Fischer Players would be part of it and join a list of well-regarded stage performers that inhabit the place.
  • Compared to the schools Max previously went to, the schools that the Pantheon had contained a degree of weirdness that he hadn’t witnessed before. That said, Max continued his studies and extracurricular work knowing that not only do some students have unusual and exciting lives outside of school, but that some of their classes would fit that description as well. In addition to establishing the extracurricular activities Max previously did at Rushmore Academy, he’s found a few other interesting extracurricular work at the Pantheon school and found a few students who had the time to participate in these kinds of activities. Among the students who have joined in on the fun include those who have engaged in extracurricular work at school in the past such as Kim Possible (who is academically adept as well) and the Equestria Girls. When it came to teachers, Max found good company in John Keating and struck up a similar friendship with him like Max had done with Herman. Keating's words about seizing the day went over well with Max and while the poetry teacher was aware of the many things Max was interested in doing as school, it didn’t hurt to add poetry to that list.
  • Unlike most of the other students at Rushmore, Max has a middle-class background and it has led to some difficulty in trying to make a name for himself, though his egotism didn’t help either. He has picked up on the fact that a few not-so-wealthy figures found themselves amongst the financially rich, including how some of them were in a situation like his own when it came to being at an elite school. One such student who fit that category was Miyuki Shirogane who faced his own challenges in becoming successful before, during, and after his academic years. Given how Shirogane was talented in many ways and went through a turbulent love story himself when it came to Kaguya Shinomiya, he noted that Max was a bit reckless proving himself when it came to both his standing at the school (Max ended up getting expelled from Rushmore Academy, though not for poor grades) and his unsuccessful romance with Rosemary, though Max has since more-or-less understood his mistakes and Shirogane was not without some flaws of his own. Max and Shirogane have become good conversation buddies with the latter curious about some of the extracurricular activities Max has taken part in (and established in some cases).
  • Max took an interest in Rosemary after seeing a message written by her in a book about marine life by Jacques Cousteau and her having some fish tanks in her class room and interest in fish prompted him to make an aquarium in her honor, which wasn’t successful until after his problems got resolved and Herman contributed to the project. Although the Pantheon had plenty of ways to see sealife, Max was interested in having an aquarium established in school grounds, but the idea was turned down for a different reason: the fact that most marine life was not only hostile, but far more unusual that it can put school grounds at risk even if some of the students can defend themselves and others. Following that blunder, Max encountered oceanographer Steve Zissou, who fancied himself as a rival towards Cousteau. Max saw a bit of himself in Zissou when it came to being a self-aggrandizing person who had to iron out their flaws while dealing with troubled interpersonal relations towards others and it was something the documentarian was aware of. A brief underwater voyage with Zissou inspired Max to create an extracurricular activity centered around aquatic life on Pantheonic school grounds, though viewing many of the more outlandish and dangerous sea creatures is limited to that of books and videos related to such.
  • His attempts at winning the affection of Rosemary Cross didn’t work out, partially because of the age difference between them and partially because Herman developed feelings for her as well that led to a feud between Max and Herman. While Max was able to get back on his feet by being on amicable terms with Rosemary (and helped her reconcile with Herman) while being in a relationship with high school student Margaret Yang, some romances with that significant of an age gap haven’t always gone smoothly. Benjamin Braddock is a university student with not much of a plan for a future who found himself in a love triangle between the troubled Mrs. Robinson and her daughter Elaine where things between him and Mrs. Robinson ended poorly and even hooking up with Elaine in the end brought a sense of uncertainty among them. While Max has more-or-less sorted his issues out, the same probably can’t be said for Ben who simply wanted to get away from the aimlessness that he was facing. Despite Ben being a bit hesitant in talking to someone who was not only involved in a similarly poor attempt at an Age-Gap Romance, but was the young one trying to win over the older one in that case, the words Max said to him about doing something one likes and pursuing it was worth thinking about and Max has hoped that it will help Ben find some direction in his life.
  • As much as Max has done a lot of extracurricular activities at school, there are plenty of figures in the Pantheon who have a lot of different talents outside of it. While some such as Goofy stumbled quite a bit at the various things they’re asked to do, others have demonstrated the skills to pull off the numerous talents that they have. While Max is still a student at school (and has tried somewhat to not have poor grades in his class), seeing these figures do plenty of jobs was something that intrigued him even if he was mainly focused on stage plays. Mona was a high schooler who had a primary line of work (that being an employee for a game company called Warioware Inc.) in addition to having plenty of part-time jobs and that kind of variety she partook in led her to learning about the extracurricular activities Max has, with her finding them to be fun and Max enjoying her company in turn.
  • Max’s father Bert owns a barbershop and Max himself worked there for a period of time after he temporarily lost his friendships with the people he knew. While he does have an idea on how haircutting works, Max was a bit put off when he learned of some weird stories involving demented barbers that have been spreading throughout the Pantheon. One such barber was Freaky Fred, who had a creepy habit of cutting all the hairs of any client he had, but was otherwise a mostly friendly fellow. Fred was pleasantly surprised to learn of someone who had experience cutting hair and was interested in working with Max when it came to haircuts. Max turned down the offer during his brief chat with Fred and while Max did get an idea of forming an extracurricular club themed around haircuts in one of the Pantheon’s schools to honor Bert, he would rather keep his distance from Freaky Fred as much as he can.
  • When it comes to the varied set of activities he’s done, making stage plays is one of the more prominent things Max was involved with and the Pantheon gave him a chance to make the Max Fischer Players a notable name in that field. Given that he had done school plays in the past and a few special abridged performances based on pre-existing material (with Truman Burbank admittedly a bit perplexed at seeing someone recreate his story on a much smaller scale), it didn’t take long for Max to see just how much more elaborate some of the stage plays in the Pantheon are compared to his own alongside plenty of highly skilled, yet eccentric actors. Among these entertainers who became curious about the Max Fischer Players were the Muppets, an entourage of oddball stage performers who have done their share of doing their own takes on pre-existing stories. For all the eccentricities the Muppets had backstage and the presentation style of Max’s plays giving Statler and Waldorf more fodder for them to heckle, it has given Max inspiration for new ideas for plays and a better sense of what working in the Pantheonic entertainment industry is like.
  • Personality-wise, Max isn’t exactly the nicest student around thanks to having a bit of an inflated ego regarding the number of things he’s done at school. He ended up alienating his friends for a bit before patching things up with them, but he did learn that there were plenty of figures in the Pantheon whose egotism was far stronger than his own. While some have more-or-less learned from their mistakes and have improved themselves, others continued to believe that they were better than they actually are and the consequences hurt them badly as a result. Max still thinks of himself as a highly talented person (and has occasionally got in trouble with others over it), but has made an effort to not repeat the pitfalls that led to his troubles.

@Killbus2-0 I'll be sure to add your suggestions to Cobra Commander before I put his profile up. I think I addressed the dissonance between most versions of him and the Sunbow version in paragraph two. Also, how's your profile for Goldfinger coming along? It would be fitting for him to be the second Bond villain ascended now that Blofeld is up.

I'd also like to alert everyone to RJ's request for reviews on General Derivatives. I feel bad since it looks like my own post drew people's attention away from it.

And while I'm at it, I may as well make one more proposal before we're on to the next page.

Jaws, The God Who's Made of Iron

  • Reason: The Dragon to two successive Bond villains, and perhaps the most iconic Bond henchman to date apart from Oddjob, Jaws shrugs off an incredible amount in both the films he appears in. To quote the entry on his character sheet "He survives electrocution, car crashes, kicked through the window of a moving train, fighting a shark, and the explosion and sinking of an underwarter base immediately after said shark fight in The Spy Who Loved Me, and falling from a plane, crashing through a building inside a runaway cable car, and falling from the Iguazu Falls in Moonraker" and each time he emerges no worse for the wear despite appearing to just be a normal human. He even manages to No-Sell being kicked in the balls. Also a semi-literal example of this trope given how his teeth are made of metal.

Just imagine something here.
