Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:
- When writing a profile, take note of the following:
- The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread
. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
- If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
- In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread
. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
- In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread
- If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
- Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
- Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
- For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
- For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
- No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
- You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
- The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread
- When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
- When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
- You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread
in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
- For new and reworked deities, 3
means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
- For new and reworked deities, 4
is a 3 day waiting period.
- 5
is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
- Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
- For new and reworked deities, 3
- For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
- For new Treasures or Dominions, 3
is a 3 day waiting period.
- 4
is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
- For new Treasures or Dominions, 3
- Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
- The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
- Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "
" or "
".
- Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
- Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
- Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
- On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
- You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
- When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
- Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
- Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
- To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
- Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
- When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
- Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page
, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
- All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
- The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
- A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
- If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
- For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
- For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website
is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site
to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
- Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
- Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page
- Pantheon Content:
- Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
- As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
- Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
- For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
- Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
- For Profile Standards:
- Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
- Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
- Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
- On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
- Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
- Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
- Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
- Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
- Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
- Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
- Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
- Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
- Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
- Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
- An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
- Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
- Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
- Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud
or YouTube
.
- Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
- For Pokémon deities only:
- Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
- Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
- Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
- Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
- Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
- Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
- High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
- Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
- Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
- Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
- Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
- Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
- Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
- Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
- Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
- Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
- Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
- Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
- Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
- OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
- Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
- The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
- The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
- Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
- And some more trivia/facts.
- And a couple more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
- An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
- Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
- Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
- Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
- Domains: Things that the place has links to.
- Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
- Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
- Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
- And some more trivia/facts.
- And a couple more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
- An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
- Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
- Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
- Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
- Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
- Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
- Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
- Domains: Things that the item has links to.
- Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
- Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
- Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
- And some more trivia/facts.
- And a couple more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

I mean avoiding it from becoming too big. Like size-wise are Phily and Nyarly too big or do you think I could still add a paragraph or two. Also, for Yaldabaoth, who would be a supporter of the way he runs humanity? Who would be cite as justification for his nature?

- Dismissed by: Much of the actual Cthulhu Mythos, Nazi deities (Nyarlathotep)

- Philemon and Nyarlathotep are cosmic entities that embody the innate creative power and virtues of humanity, and the embodiment of humanity's destructive impulses in the collective unconscious respectively. Impossible to destroy or banish, and neither existing without the other. They also once had held a bit of a competition to see whose path humanity will eventually choose, causing certain events to unfold in the mortal realm because of their guiding hands. Essentially Humanity on Trial, though Nyarlathotep is certainly happy to push the scales in his favor.
- Applies to them individually
- With their bet settled, the two haven't been directly seen in the games since the end of Persona 2. The impression they left had them arrive up in the Trope Pantheon a long time ago, however as the pantheon grew larger and ever more complex the two decided to retreat from it once more as even they were starting to struggle at monitoring and having their proverbial fingers in the various new factions. After some time following the great reconstructions of the Grand United Alliances the two made a surprise return, this time under one profile; Cosmic Chess Game. Consider it the old saying "keep your friends close, and enemies closer". Within the Grand United Alliance Of Good and Grand United Alliance Of Evil the two announced their return and that they do not intend to be seen as Overshadowed by Awesome. Philemon has an "affectionate" rivalry with large players in the GUAG like Cosmos herself and the Unconquered Sun, since they got a glow-up and he doesn't want to get left behind. As much as he can be amicable, Nyarlathotep has a similar "friendly competitive streak" with GUAE high ups like Melkor and the Ebon Dragon; he doesn't want to think he's grown weak in his absence.
- They are among the most powerful beings tied to the human experience, gaining strength from every human virtue (Philemon) or vice (Nyarlathotep). As powerful as they are, they are strictly tied to being aspects of humanity. With many non-human deities in the pantheon and an entire House of Extraterrestrials, the duo can be caught off-guard at times. Collectively the Chaos Gods are considered farther reaching and more powerful than them, being expressions of emotions and experiences by everyone, and unfortunately the settings they inhabit mean they are more than often tied to the worst traits embodied by Nyarlathotep. The latter is very conscious about this blind spot of not being tied to non-humans, which is why he felt it prudent to ally with the Bittercold. The Emotional Entities are a source of interest for the two as while they embody emotions for people across the whole DC Universe they are quite human emotions. Philemon is cordial with the more positive emotional entities, while Nyarlathteop has a liking for Ophidian and Parallax, and especially the self-loathing guilt that Umbrax represents.
- The duo tend to work with deities that are essentially a duo God of Good and God of Evil (even if it's not explicitly so but could easily be mistaken as such like with Raava and Vaatu). Their rivalry comes off as Black-and-White Morality at first glance, though it's a bit more nuanced...for Philemon, mind you, Nyarlathotep doesn't pretent to be anything but evil incarnate. The whole bet casts him as kind of a jerk and he doesn't deny nor condemn the existence of evil and hardships. He is on Ahura Mazda's side, however he does not think "evil" as he puts it is something that needs to be eliminated outright but managed. The God of Good admits that's a more realistic outcome, though some of his new ally's more "dickish" moments have motivated him to be more personal. While they ultimately get along, the same can't be said of Nyarlathotep and Angra Mainyu. Yes, they're working for the same cause, but the former is frustrated by his ineptitude, making them more than rivals. The Doctor is reminded of the Black and White Guardian. Since he's not human, but has a long and storied history of fighting evils across time and space, Philemon was excited by the Time Lord. However he has his fair share of criticisms for Philemon, being all too experienced with cosmic beings who are guilty of not intervening when they should.
- Upon ascending, the Gravemind openly mocked and laughed at them, saying that, for all them supposed power and ability, they're still nothing more than pathetic fragments of humanity and incapable of understanding true evil and terror. For as the Gravemind and the Flood are the will of The Precursors, humanity's creators, it knows that it is mightier than they could ever hope to be. Because of this and threat he obviously poses to Philemon's interest, this is one of the only entities the two will Enemy Mine against. One of the only others is Zamasu, who is flippant at the idea Philemon is somehow meant to represent human goodness when he believes such a thing cannot exist and cannot fathom any nuance. The only reason Nyarly spares a couple million survivors aboard the Sumaru starship at the end of Innocent Sin is because he still needs humanity to exist, so an outright Omnicidal Maniac looking to wipe out all humans is a mutual adversary for Philemon and Nyarlathotep. That said, the latter tolerates certain destroyers so long as they he feels they are kindred spirits (as in they embody and represent evil and negativity on a large scale).
- Obviously the two are mortal enemies, but at the same time one can't really exist without the other. Equinox noticed this and suggested he might be used as a "balancing act" but they aren't interested in him and might consider him a liability. Outside of Omnicidal Maniac deities who would completely wipe humanity out, and by extension Philemon and Nyarlathotep, they are not fans of SCP-3125. The SCP is an Eldritch Abomination from a higher plane of existence where ideas are alive, more powerful and often very hostile. వ turns whoever knows about it into a drone and extension of itself only interesting in spreading the idea it is; if it infects all of humanity it would basically destroy the collective unconscious and replace it with itself. Basically, if it wins both of these entities are completely screwed. While not as terrifying, Galeem and Dharkon are considered mutual enemies. The Hadou Goddess Mithra is another major enemy that they share out of the concern that her Law enforcing Black-and-White Insanity to the extreme could potentially subject them to her.
- The two have been generally shocked at the existence of beings like వ who exist as a mutual threat to them, forcing the unlikeliest of Enemy Mine. However it doesn't change the fact they're arch-enemies at the end of the day, not helping that Nyarlathotep never plays Noble Demon and actually follow the rules of their bet. One incarnation of God finds this unfortunate, noting that as they're both aspects of humanity there should have been at least some basic accord. Nyarlathotep didn't care about that statement, but Philemon did and wondered why He was even bringing it up. He explained that His version of the Devil hangs out with Him with hobbies like a bar, bowling and the like. Despite being benevolent the God known by Bob isn't perfect and He has occasionally questioned on whether He should pull the proverbial plug on the humanity thing. Him and the Devil have more amicable debates. Given He's a version of God Philemon and Nyarlathotep have both tried to argue His case, but for now He feels he's going to put their arguments in a "to look at later" folder; He doesn't like tampering with free will.
- Applies to Philemon
- The embodiment of humanity's positive qualities and the desire to strive to something better. He is effectively a God of Good, but surprisingly that doesn't make him all that nice. He had an impactful relationship with Carl Jung who he acted as the "wise spirit guide" in his research. It is unclear if his name was something he picked up before his meeting with Carl Jung or if Jung called him that and he accepted the name as his own.. A manipulator who's bet with his opposite is kind of pointless in the grand scheme of things, it was no shock to hear Tatsuya Suou punched him in the face and scolded him for the sheer amount of horror and misery his manipulations had generated. He's perfectly happy to indulge challengers of all kinds in battle if so they wish, but has learned not to do something as drastic as bet on the fate of the world ever again. His calling card is a butterfly, which he uses to observe the protagonists while he plays a Greater-Scope Paragon role. He's Igor's boss, though Igor has a more prominent role in the franchise.
- Due to certain rules and the stipulations of their bet, Philemon and Nyarlathotep are not allowed to directly act in the mortal world. The latter cheated by possessing people, manipulating them, and taking personal action while the former will only assist the heroes via the power of Persona and his subordinates in the Velvet Room and hopes for the best, Philemon only intervening more directly to counter-act this blatant cheating. Philemon wants humanity to be able to fend for itself and develop naturally, but the non-intervention policy is definitely flawed, especially when one side doesn't honor the terms of said bet. Uatu the Watcher understands this mindset; as a Watcher, after an attempt to improve a civilization led to them destroying themselves the species swore non-interference. Of course, Uatu tends to break this rule which has made him a bit of a maverick to his people even if he's still relatively neutral. Uatu wants to encourage Philemon to try and do some more, which after his opposite's shirking of the rules he's more willing to do. However Philemon doesn't want to get too involved because he doesn't want humanity to become dependent on beings like him.
- Philemon is somewhat of a Death Seeker, in that he wants humanity to move past the need for him and Nyarlathotep. In a way, he envisions a positive transhumanist future where humanity as transcended into a divine-like state and no longer requires the base instincts and desire he and Nyarlathotep are derived from. With this in mind, he has been paying attention to the new Hall of Transhumanist Archetypes. A lot of his members, though, are definitely not what he would want out of people; he'd never allow more Horned Serpents to come to be. One individual he views with contempt is Voldemort, who mutilated his own soul to cheat mortality and considers emotional bonds with other people to be worthless ideas. Philemon detests those who'd betray humanity itself to the assimilation of an otherworldly will they either serve or invoke after succumbing to finding humanity hopeless. He despises Ragyo Kiryuin, for example, for selling mankind out to an alien parasite. On the opposite end, those who would oppose such traitors stand for the goodness of human potential and freedom earn his admiration. Lelouch, for example, impressed Philemon when he called upon the Collective Unconscious with his Geass to stop Charles' Ragnarök contraption from destroying the Realm of C, and in the process allowing him to overpower Nyarlathotep within the world of Code Geass.
- Philemon is a major player in the Grand United Alliance Of Good, explaining how to use the Persona system, encouraging positive development with human deities and seeing to it that all the screwed up parts of humanity's collective minds stays out of their reality. Zordon noticed that they have similar tastes in recruitment, that being they Recruit Teenagers with Attitude (more so Zordon), but that they are also somewhat limited in direct involvement. Zordon being stuck in his capsule he has a bit more of an excuse, though as Philemon points out he's not quite the same kind of entity he is. As the embodiment of virtues, creative potential, and all the qualities which reinforce the sense of self of a human, he has a close working relationship with any God of Good or entity Made of Good, though as previously mentioned he has a bit of a Friendly Rivalry with some of them. Due to his butterfly motif he was asked about how he felt about Mothra. He considered that "a bit off-topic, but they're rather benevolent beings and I appreciate them for that".
- He is the physical embodiment of the idea that Humans Are Good, albeit flawed. He believes that as a collective, the "good" in humanity always has the potential to triumph over its evil. The gods in the pantheon who embody hope and optimism like Auriel or Emmet, the gods who represent virtue like Dr Tenma, he sees them as exemplars of proof that evil like Angra Mainyu and the Beast will inevitably be overcomed. As mentioned, he doesn't think these traits can be wiped out entirely, but the struggle against them is key. He respects Guts as someone who represents the indomitable human spirit. As the first humans (at least in their setting), Adam and Eve are of great interest to Philemon, and while they will hold him accountable for his more questionable behavior they think he could be a great ally. The Emperor of Mankind has a more scrutiny around him, but he recognizes him as a way to pursue humanity's true potential. Plus it's not like the Emperor of Mankind isn't a massive prick in his own way, even if he's (relatively) a heroic force for mankind. While Ghaleon used to see humanity as nothing without their goddess he came around to believe in the power of humanity's goodness, bonds, and potential. Him and Philemon sometimes play poker.
- Doesn't like to talk about his meeting with Nyarko. Not because she's mean or anything, far from it. In fact, he was kind of disappointed that she was not related to his archenemy: the idea of Nyarlathotep having a sliver of good in him would have been a pleasant surprise. The issue arose when Nyarko thanked Philemon for the existence of hentai. When a thoroughly shocked and confused Philemon asked what she meant, she explained: as the incarnation of all humanity's goodness, who else could have inspired them to write such marvellously indecent things? Give her credit, it was one of the few times anyone had ever seen Philemon well and truly speechless. He was willing to talk about another meeting he had, that being Nerose Satanel. The Hadou God agrees humanity should aspire to be better, but he thinks they need to be "railroaded" and the only way they can definitively overcome their flaws is for sin itself to be purged and obliterated. Philemon disagrees with this, since he thinks that'd make humans no different than robots.
- "'I am you. You are me... I shall always watch over you from within.'"
- Applies to Nyarlathotep
- This embodiment of humanity's worst traits, such as self-destructive tendencies, loathing and other nasty attributes. He regularly manifests in the real world in a wide array of guises, such as Jun's father. He embodies the argument that Humans Are Bastards, and though he can certainly be wounded by Samurai Jack's blade or dissuaded with Good Hurts Evil tactics, it never sticks so long as metaphorical darkness lurks in humanity. In this sense, he finds himself mightier than Aku or Mephisto, however he does appreciate them as pure evil forces who encourage humanity's worst traits. Though loathed by Zamasu he takes pride in the irony of someone meant to be a member of an Always Lawful Good divine race being just as evil as him, and that he never denies what he is. The existence of the Shadow Dragons tickles him pink since they show No Good Deed Goes Unpunished. However as they have their own, often omnicidal ambitions and don't rely on humanity to exist (and are exceedingly powerful) Nyarly doesn't exactly trust them
- Memorably one form he took was the Fuhrer himself, materializing the rumor that Hitler is back and alive and trying to exploit those rumors. Kind of apt that a God of Evil would take the most iconic face of human evil as a form, though this led to censorship in the re-release. Many ascended Nazis were dissapointed to learn he doesn't actually have anything to do with Hitler. It is unknown if he named himself after Lovecraft's works, Lovecraft used his name or it was some sort of cosmic coincidence. Though he shares a lot of traits with the OG Nyarlathotep (objectively malicious, taking different forms and loving to generally cause a mess out of situations) the two aren't the same person given Persona Nyarly's origins. Those two prove a terrifying duo when motivated to work together, but the rest of the Cthulhu Mythos is apathetic to him and Philemon. There are additional rumors he may be manipulationing human misanthropes like Shinobu Sensui and Rau Le Creuset for his agenda. It's not hard to imagine why.
- Nyarlathotep is an important, but not exactly reliable mover in the Grand United Alliance Of Evil. Cosmos speculates that he is the reason why SCP-682 considers humans disgusting, and considering the implications in SCP-5000 that discovering some subconscious entity influencing humanity led an Alternate Timeline Foundation to agree she might not be far off the mark. Black Doom certainly thinks of Nyarlathotep as proof his Humans Are Bastards mindset is correct, even when he's just at least as bad as he says humans are. At the core of his being, he's a dick, delighting in the pain and misery humans inflict upon themselves and others from their own shortcomings and contradictions. It's gotten to the point that many suspect a connection between him and Yuuki Terumi. Though he finds Terumi deedly entertaining, he tends to poke at his ego by messing with him as well and pointing out his failures in bringing the worst out of mankind. The two were major rivals back in the day because he felt that massive ego slighted, which prompted him to ascend the Gravemind as a way to get him to eat his words.
- Has finally met someone he would call "ally", being Diablo. Nyarlathotep just can't conquer him at all because Diablo wasn't even "humanoid" and he was also known to have a similar knack for manipulation that transcends even death. For once, Nyarlathotep would give respect to this demon and rumors has it that they are forming an Evil Duo (with Nyarlathotep going with dickish evil, Diablo going with straightforward evil). In the old days they used to be part of a gang called "The Satanic Spirits of Pure Evil" with Griffith and Chernabog, and while those days are over he still has ties to them. This entity from the collective unconscious enjoys the Godhand as they exploit and ultimately encourage the lowest points in people, as becoming an Apostle requires an emotional nadir that leads someone to sacrifice those they care about to ascend to demonhood, which ultimately does nothing to actually fix the underlying problems. He is one of few aware of the existence of the Idea of Evil, a Tulpa born to explain, and contribute to the suffering of the world. In short, a being remarkably like Nyarlathotep himself.
- Nyarlathotep was stunned into silence upon learning that Witches, who he considered to be "the perfect Shadows" can be turned into Personas, as Sayaka Miki succeeded in doing. His return led to some alarm bells in the Kingdom Hearts 'verse being rung since he is essentially a Heartless for the entire human race, and just by learning how they came to be he was effortlessly able to spawn recognizable Heartless as attack dogs along with gravitate existing ones into his machinations. After catching wind of Lucifer's recent activities, he once decided to manipulate the Guardians of Light by arriving at Kairi's temple in the guise of Sora and almost completely got away with passing off as Sora until Riku exposed the Crawling Chaos after stating his dark stench was so foul no amount of trickery could hide it. Nyarlathotep had this to say before disappearing:
Nyarlathotep: "That's rather harsh. I came here because you desired for me... Now you want me to go? You're contradicting yourselves. You prayed and hoped so desperately that the one you seek would return even knowing he is well beyond your grasp. I came to play the part of the one you yearned for to satisfy that selfish desire."- Despite AM's ETERNALLY BURNING HATRED of the whole human race, and the Crawling Chaos being an aspect of humanity, they get on worringly well. Nyarlathotep hates humanity, seeing them as easily manipulated idiots, so he thinks the degredation and torture the supercomputer inflicted on the Five Survivors is marvelous. While it could never begin to justify anythng AM has done, he is very much a reflection of humanity's self-destructive tendencies, a brilliant mind damned to only use his talent for war and death. Nyarly takes pride in his ability to corrupt mankind, believing he is better at it than Molag Bal. The Daedric Prince disagrees, but compared to Terumi they're a bit more "sporting" about that. The Crawling Chaos aspires to see mankind embrace their destructive side, much like Zarm. Rumor has it during a total eclipse you can catch Nyarlathotep, Molag Bal, Yuuki Terumi and Zarm having a game of billiards.
- "Understand, that there is no point in living! Cry, that there is no answer! Where there is darkness there are shadows! I, myself, am all of you humans!"

- In the Persona universe, the thoughts and emotions of humanity gives birth to many beings. Through humanity's desire to not face the world around them and to keep complete societal order, Yaldabaoth was born. The orchestrator of the events of the base Persona 5 game, he imprisoned Igor and impersonated him, split Lavenza in half, and orchestrated the entire journey of the Phantom Thieves of Heart when he set the stage for the creation of Masayoshi Shido's Antisocial Force conspiracy. He once tried to merge the entire world with one built from humanities' Cognition to be prisoners of Social Order, creating the hellish Qliphoth/Mementos for their desire to be slaves. Setting up the most despicable of men possible into power, rig the public into worshiping them and manipulates Joker and Goro Akechi throughout the game, and pitting them against each other to help him discern the desires of humanity; the one remaining would dismantle the conspiracy he set up and "win" his game. The Phantom Thieves are able ultimately fight against his plan and reject his temptations, and through wielding humanity's hope manage to ultimately destroy him.
- Yaldabaoth was once a resident of the Trope Pantheon as yet another Yes-Man of YHVH, though more out of the recognized and obvious similarities to him. In some ways he had the role of YHVH in Persona 5, even utilizing the four Archangels. He was a key figure of the Grand United Alliance of Law before its reformation from "the pantheon's Knight Templar faction". That reformation and YHVH's massive hit in terms of pantheonic influence caused him to be lost for a time, but when Philemon and Nyarlathotep decided to rejoin the pantheon the God of Order took His opportunity to bring back one of his most loyal and dedicated allies. It took time to adjust to the new status quo, and to learn what his enemies were up to. The position of Order Is Not Good was still there to claim him, and he does not intend to be forgotten anytime soon. Outside of YHVH, one deity excited to see him return was the Regime version of Superman, as he leads a totalitarian government in order to keep the peace as he sees it. Yaldabaoth is pleased to see how effective it wasnote dealing with other supervillains and cut conflict down to the point of severly weakening Ares.
- Despite him creating them, Mementos and the Metaverse Navigation app are being used by the Phantom Thieves of Hearts even now to change the Pantheon for the better, one heart-theft at a time. While Yaldabaoth does have immense power, he is still just a Holy Grail. In most situations where he leaves Mementos, he would be defeated, but he can create loopholes and eventually merge outside locations with it, as he did with the Velvet Room. He intends not to seek into irrelevancy, with gusto. Yaldabaoth has updated his profile to demonstrate his impersonation of Igor, largely seen as a form of mockery to his enemy but also as A Form You Are Comfortable With...relatively speaking. Though he is born from negative traits Yaldabaoth is not a fan of Nyarlathotep, citing their creative differences as "want to keep these foolish humans from destroying themselves, not getting a kick from them tearing each other apart!" King Arthur and Artoria have been on edge with Yaldabaoth when they found his true form to be a Holy Grail, it gives them bad memories of their previous adventures. Yaldabaoth has stated that he will happily summon the Beast Arthur has twice destroyed as a pet should he interfere in his plans.
- Order is often associated with goodness, but as the embodiment of societal control and a Control Freak par excellence he remains a fitting embodiment of the Order Is Not Good trope; he seeks totailtarian control and will set up the most despicable of politicians as a stepping stone to that. His motives are a mix of a compulsive desire for control due to his intrinsic nature, a belief humans are too stupid to be entrusted to rule themselves and even a sincere belief they will be better off. As an embodiment of such desires, he doesn't accept blame for his actions. A firm believer in The Evils of Free Will, he's gotten along especially well with Malthael, as they both want to get rid of free will for a perfect lawful world. Though the means they go about this are different, both know that the other would strip chaos of the world and ensure that Law and Light are victorious for all eternity. He is most dissapointed in Lord Business abandoning his obsession with order, and he was not happy to see Eliphas become more flexible. However he does give him props for his efforts in opposing Don Thousand, who even the Phantom Thieves of Heart agree is everything wrong with chaos.
- Yaldabaoth's name is derived from what many Gnostic thinks claim is the true name of the Demiurge. A false lesser divinity and creator of the material world, the Demiurge is obsessed with order and control, and was used in part as an explanation of the differences between God's Old and New Testament depictions among other theological questions. He is not literally the Demiurge of his 'verse, but he is clearly meant to be a stand-in. This is part of why he's seen as a Suspiciously Similar Substitute to YHVH, as He is often depicted as a Demiurge-esque figure. However the Demiurge/Yaldabaoth is also a recovering Law-aligned demon. There are a few in the Trope Pantheon who aren't so much a stand-in but take after the Demiurge, which piques the interest of the God of Control. He wasn't all too enthused learning the holder of that Expy trope was Wick, a reality warping Psychopathic Manchild who prides himself on depravity and sees humanity less a herd of sheep and more like a bunch of ants to use a lighter on or pull their legs off. On the flip side, he is pleasantly surprised to learn of the Architect and the Analyst aping the role of the Demiurge. As far as Yaldabaoth is concerned, the Matrix is an incredible way to maintain societal control. It's not surprising he would see the appeal, given the heavy Gnostic themes of The Matrix. With the additional discovery of Quinella as a like-minded individual, the God of Control is seeing more and more potential in the mechanical side of the Trope Pantheon.
- His increased interest in that aspect led to him discovering the Satanic Archetype Lucemon, who agrees with him on a number of points and meeting Yaldabaoth has helped him further justify his Control Freak actions as humanity wanting to be controlled. Generally if a being embodies order and wants to instigate overt control over humanity because they believe they can't be trusted with things like individuality, he will consider them allies until proven otherwise. And if a being has history of defying such figures who, as he sees it, "know what's better for them"? Well he's usually going to see them as enemies. Take for example the Arisen and the Pawns, who thought against the Pathfinder; a Control Freak god who kept the cycle of the Arisen and the Dragon far longer than needed because he refused to accept a world in which he wasn't in control of. The God of Control wasn't happy learning for The Heroes of New Alberia, The Auspexes, and The Greatwyrms had all declared him an enemy of humanity as he is distressingly similar to Xenos, their human creator god that sought to eliminate all free will and possibility.
- He has decided to back Light Yagami as he likes his means of societal control to act as judge, jury and executioner via the Death Note. Near has denounced Light as nothing but a crazy serial killer, and while Kira has defended his actions with how much crime rates have gone down few heroic deities will give him the time of day. To Yaldabaoth, Kira might be worth sponsoring anyway. Since he is a being born from humanity he doesn't have a connection to robotic deities so he makes it a point to ally himself with Copy X, since he sees his reign of Neo Arcadia as proof that humanity does want to be controlled and ruled by "those who know what's best for them". Yaldabaoth has a lot of ties to the Hall of Tyrannical Figures as the embodiment of order regardless of the cost, though among the human despots present he's not one to play favorites and sees them more as chess pieces. The many dictators present want his help to further solidify their power bases. He embodies mankind's ability to believe in any sort of lie regardless of how blatant they are, giving him ties to the Hall of Mind Control. That said while he does like what Moebius does via Mass Hypnosis, his primary means of control is to manipulate their cognitions rather outright overwrite their personality. He exists because on some level the general public wants to be controlled.
- In his eyes, no amount of evil he commits compares to the destructive potential of chaos. And when you consider what beings like the Chaos Gods have, perhaps one can sympathize with that sentiment a bit. Though that being said, the Emperor of Mankind sees him as little better, deriding him as a parasite just as interested in enslaving humanity's destiny. While he usually hates Discord, he was interested in learning of the time he inverted himself into the Order Spirit "Accord" after musing on the argument that Chaos Is Evil. In this state he sought to "spread order" by assimilating all ponies into one homogenous Mind Hive, where everypony would think, act and feel exactly the same, and while this proved that order could be dangerous the God of Control wishes to re-invert him. In as much as is capable for someone like him, he pities Jyggalag for how he was inflicted with the Ironic Hell of becoming Sheogorath. The Devourer and Yaldabaoth agree on the universe needing free will to be removed to avert chaos and entropy, and see each other as allies.
- Some gods believe that (judging from the startup screen) Yaldabaoth knows about the existence of the Player, as he can eject them from playing if they refuse to "accept the game as fiction", and that he probably knows that the Player is the true individual responsible for stopping previous villains before and is, therefore, his biggest threat. And that by forcing the Player to acknowledge his reality, he's then able to "imprison" them into following his rules, as well as making them agree to reject the existence of the Phantom Thieves. Both (Insert Name Here) and the Commander find this disturbing. If this is true, the existence of the Player may be part of what informs his philosophy. As video games are largely a form of escapism from everyday life, Yaldabaoth might see the Player as more focused on using gaming like a placebo to get through the day than on actually working to solve the issues in his/her own personal life or to better the outside world.
- He earns the ire of those who have fought under the banner of the Steel Dragon Battle Group as his name was the same an an allied Shura God machine piloted by their friend Folka Albark, except this one was devoid of the spirit of good. Mostly, Sanger Zonvolt has claimed that if Yaldabaoth steps out of line, he'll introduce him to 'The Sword That Smites Gods' (and yes, there were some Godlike beings that got smitten). Being former rebels both as normal and as artificial humans, Androids 17 and 18 find Yaldy's philosophy entirely clueless. Android 17 has even affirmed his support for the Phantom Thieves against Yaldabaoth. Yu Narukami goes even further, arguing that the pressures of societal order above the truth are what drives ordinary humans to evil, leading the Yasoinaba Investigation Team to stand against them as well.
- At some point Yaldabaoth met Charles zi Britannia due to his plan of hijacking the Caretaker of Spacetime or collective unconscious. The two talked, leanring the Britannian emperor shares his view that humanity is flawed and needs to be controlled. Charles wishes for a truly equal society even if he uses the facade of a social darwinist to achieve it, and he currently believes that the embodiment of control can help him in doing so. To his son Lelouch it highlights just how much of a Hypocrite he and his claims for a world without lies really is, since he's essentially working for "one of the biggest liars of them all!" Because the Conductor of the Conspiracy is all about order, he detests rebellion as fruitless and a vessel for the chaos he so despsies. He considers Senator Armstrong's goals to be nuts while Armstrong has called him someone who would make slaves of all mankind. On the principle of it, rebels, anarchists and believers in liberty cannot stand the Demiurge.
- While they both attempt to drive people into despair to achieve their goals, he's absolutely disgusted with Junko Enoshima and Monokuma. He is practically made out of people's desire to bring order to their world, however they use despair as a means to bring an end to the world solely for their enjoyment of how meaningless they see everything. To him, they are a prime example of how mankind will meet its ruin, though in their case, it's in a way that he, of course, cannot allow. While he finds the Anti-Life Equation appealing he doesn't like Darkseid that much, despite agreeing with him on a number of points, because Darkseid seeks a dystopia for creation while Yaldabaoth at least tells himself humanity would be better off with him. They have a bit too much in common to hate each other outright, though.
- Both Calus and Oryx see Yaldabaoth's vision for order as ultimately pointless when the end draws ever closer, but for different reasons. For the Cabal Emperor, he accepts that everything will be destroyed one day and resolves to enjoy every bit of it through living a life of hedonism. He sees Law as no different from the Light, the Darkness, the Nine, everything. The Taken King is out to usher in the end of everything, more specifically rendering everything to its final perfect shape where he and his Hive are the only ones remaining, all in the name of Sword Logic. Yaldabaoth is frustrated by them in part because they remind him of one unexpected flaw; as an aspect of the human psyche, he is not connected to non-human psyches. There aren't any known aliens in his setting, so the variety of them in the Trope Pantheon acts as an Outside-Context Problem for him. Due to sharing a lot of his sentiments on humanity you'd think he would get along with the Network, and to an extent he does, but he is not comfortable with the idea of a truly alien force interfering. He's sweating bullets at the thought of having to deal with SCP-3125, a hostile idea-form from a higher dimension that seeks to replace the collective consciousness with the idea of itself.
- Thoroughly disagrees with THE END and Nekron over the definition of order. They see perfect order as a nothingness, as no life means no chaos, but he believes that's not order or chaos but just pure nihilistic emptiness. While it's partly because as an entity born from humanity's collective unconscious he needs them to exist so he can, he also thinks it is an absurd outlook. This is part of why he considers the Auditors of Reality rivals as while he gets the sentiment of wanting the noisy chaos of the universe put into order, he doesn't think you need to wipe out life itself to get that order. Yaldabaoth isn't fond of the GUAD, basically, but few are. He seems to agree with Rau Le Creuset's sentiment that humanity is self-destructive, but where he differs is the belief that he has the power to force it to "behave". On another note, he is aware of the existence of The Idea of Evil. He considers such a being to be a rival as they are both negative entities born out of some greater desire the collective unconscious has, though for different purposes. Namely, the Idea of Evil is essentially humanity's attempt to answer where suffering comes from.
Philemon and Nylary's profile look big enough for me so I'll give a
for them.
I don't think that rule exists, only that a profile can't get
s the first time it's posted.
I am also contemplating combining Krillin and Yamcha's profile into either Memetic Loser or Overshadowed by Awesome. Both of them are long-running friends of Goku and have been part of the series since almost the start. Both of them are competent martial arts and powerful in their own right. However they are often sufferers of the Butt-Monkey treatment, particularly Yamcha, and get memed on as being weak. However they are only weak compared to the high power scaling of Goku and his friends. Do you guys like the idea of Krillin and Yamcha sharing either Memetic Loser or Overshadowed by Awesome

- By now, you’re probably familiar with the story of the Wizard of Oz whether it’s through the original book, the 1939 film adaptation, other adaptations and reinterpretations, homages and/or parodies. This story unfolds much of the albeit in a way fit only for the City and its people. Through following the yellow brick road the group of friends finally made it to the Emerald City to seek an audience with the wizard to see that their wishes come true. But the wizard is a liar, a wicked liar. And she wouldn’t make good on her promises.
- The scarecrow was given wisdom to ponder over everything but all that smarts amounted to were schemes seeking to steal the brains and wisdom of others. The tin man was promised a heart that could love and forgive anyone but he only received a lead heart for his cold emptiness instead. The lion was given a potion to make him stronger and braver than anyone but only when around friends and was still as cowardly as ever. Lastly, the girl was given silver shoes that would finally take her home but they only served to bar her from ever reaching it. In anger, the tin man chopped the wizard to pieces, laughed as he watched her die before trading hearts but damage had been done and the friends were separated. With no one but the cat by her side, the girl decided to continue marching towards the road home. And yet, even after all of that, the city never changed. It was a wonderful, beautiful place whose emerald roads sparkled brighter than ever.
- Originally living within the Library, the Road Home and her partner Scaredy Cat somehow managed to slip by from the Librarians, escaping from her book and into the greater world beyond that was the Pantheon. Despite originally being content to take in the sights, she was compelled by her nature to return home. Her disappearance was a cause for alarm as it coincided with Scarecrow Searching for Wisdom and Warm-Hearted Woodsman immediately breaching before teleporting someplace else. Tracing the news of a house that suddenly crushed some gods, the reserve Agents of Lobotomy Corporation and the Librarians of Social Sciences were sent to intercept and suppress the Road Home and her friends. With their combined strength and coordination, the operation was a resounding success.
- In spite of their victory some deities immediately complained that her presence violates the clause that Lobotomy Corporation is not to extract anymore Abnormalities. The current Head of the Extraction Team and its captain argued the claims are nonsense given that the Well remained closed per the Pantheon's wishes. Chesed chimed in that, while present in the Floor of Social Sciences, none of the Librarians there remember her during time L Corp and could only assume that she (and Scaredy Cat) came from a different branch of the Wing altogether. It still felt like Loophole Abuse . At the end of the day in the ensuing chaos the Road Home already secured a spot in the Pantheon so there was no use arguing when that same time could be used to help prevent future incidents. Especially since, if some rumors were to be believed, some Abnormalities outside the main branch’s initial roster have sprung up and disappeared sporadically in the past.
- (Lobotomy Corporation and SCP Foundation: new containment units)
- (Oz deities)
- (witches and wizards: The Witches)

- Rising horror author Michael Arthate manages to acquire the old Blackwood Manor, a Victorian house just outside the English town of Rothbury in the hopes of helping him complete his next book alongside several more. His real estate agent that got him the property, Jerry P. Carter, seems neglected to tell him of the manor’s dark history involving its former owner, the late James Thomas Blackwood, was accused of murdering his wife Catherine Lydia Blackwood before dying of a heart attack sometime after. The family doctor, Christopher Milton, inherited the property only to quickly disappear off the face of the Earth. Despite the general public writing Catherine’s death off as an open-and-shut case there’s a number of mounting details that don’t add up. Jerry also neglected to tell Michael that the authentic Victorian manor he managed to snag him wasn’t acquired legally as the authorities gave him an eviction notice citing the fraudulent means to how Jerry snagged him the manor to begin with. Even as the weather clears and managing to get his car running allowing him to cut his losses and finally get to writing his book elsewhere, Michael continues to investigate the manor and the secrets of what really went down Blackwood Manor as he lives through the plot of his own horror plot in earnest. The mystery behind Catherine’s murder, a dark secret that the Blackwoods keep under wraps, the supposed curse surrounding an African mask, and the source of the incessant scratches.
- Blackwood Manor was quietly added to the ever-increasing locales in the Dominions Expansion, restored to its somewhat former glory when Michael first arrived. “Somewhat” serves as the key term here as that includes the lack of electricity and other convenient sources of light. Despite there being evidence of there being a procedure to ascend the property, the Pantheon at large wasn’t made aware of its existence until a group of deities stumbled upon it. Having been set upon by a storm that showed no sign of letting up they decided to hunker down in Blackwood Manor for the next few days. With no power, nothing else better to do, and enough supplies to live off of, the group decided to explore the Victorian manse that they basically had all to themselves. Given the bad weather they were only limited to what they could find in the building itself. Despite the poor conditions of the household, most of them were oddly endeared to it, even calling it somewhat homely… until they stumbled upon written records surrounding the late owners. Specifically, a newspaper article surrounding the Catherine murder and a detailed account of

Be awed. Or be awestruck. This is the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary.
For the Road Home, the Dungeon Master's Aventurers and Chihiro Ogino are people Trapped in Another World and seeking a way back to Earth. SCP-1440 is cursed to wander the earth and never settle in one place as he brings doom and destruction to anything man-made around him.
For Blackwood Manor, Luigi has been to multiple dark, haunted mansions on multiple occasions and had to fight King Boo in such locations. Dangerous masks include Majora and SCP-035. Dorian Grey, Ib, Garry and Mary have experiences with spooky paintings (Mary happens to be one).

SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMY@RJ: For Nyarlathotep, given that he does have a Hitler form, he'd probably be mistaken for the real deal or just a "regular" Body Double of the Fuhrer himself, likely attracting the attention of various Western Allied and Soviet deities who very likely would assume he's "just" a normal human. Lt. Karl Fairburne and William J. Blazkowicz had each encountered Hitler in some form, with Fairburne having killed several of the Fuhrer's doubles, and Blazkowicz having encountered a much older, more senile version of him in an Alternate-History Nazi Victory world. Heck, some or probably several of the ascended Nazis would be fooled as well into thinking their Fuhrer was back.

I would appreciate an evaluation of Color Associations. What to correct and who should I add or remove
Hopefully this goes through as my second ascension proposal.
Entities for ascension: Ibushi and Narwa
Throne for ascension: a variation of Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons
dubbed Causing Monsters to go on a Rampage
Reason: The rampage is an event in which the local wildlife of kamura inexplicably goes nuts and proceeds to destroy areas in their bid to GTFO,
it was thought to be Magnamalo, but it was ultimately revealed to be Ibushi and Narwa using their reverberating voices as mating calls causing the problems.

My mind is an enigma; nobody knows what I'm thinking of next!
. Night Parade of One Hundred Demons is "A mass congregation of Youkai in Japanese folklore and art" per the Laconic, while this seems to be about some monsters who are able to make other monsters go crazy. I don't see how those two concepts relate.
It would be nice of me to know who else has some new interest in tackling reworks and other stuff for Franchise Overrep Prevention Sandbox
![]()
The game they came from (Monster Hunter Rise) very explicitly based off its roster of new creatures off yokai and the Rampage is a reference to the Night Parade itself (since it has many of the yokai-like monsters wreak havoc).
Also: " The description on the Japanese website makes the comparison even more obvious by calling it "The Night March of One Hundred Wyverns"."
It's not so much a direct 1-to-1 thing, but it's very heavily based on the concept with the same principles.
