Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

I want to propose a rework

GLaDOS, Goddess of Lying About Cake

GLaDOS is an AI in control of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. She is tasked with overseeing a series of absurd and dangerous tests purely for the sake of science. During the tasting of Chell, a particularly skilled test subject, GLaDOS motivated her by promising a cake at the end of her trials; as you've probably heard, the cake is a lie, and she tried to get rid of Chell once the test ended.

Reasoning for rework: The original is not bad, but I feel like interactions with other deities can be expanded.

  • Enemies: Ghetsis Harmonia, The Bittercold, Dio Brando, Godzilla, those who hate and/or hunt dragons like the Dovahkiin, Ornstein And Smough, Acnologia, Bayle the Dread
  • Interested in: The House of Weapons and Smithing
  • Avoids: The Hall of Robots and Automata
  • Feared by: Chiron
  • Opposes/Fears: The Hall of Fairies, particularly Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather
  • Hydreigon is one of the pseudo-legendaries originally from the region of Unova, being the final evolution of the Deino line and having the moniker of the Brutal Pokémon for very good reasons; while the race was mostly peaceful like most other Pokémon, people began to see it as evil and thus start hunting any Hydreigon they saw for sport, causing Hydreigon's to end up turning aggressive and becoming feared opponents. With three heads (though only one brain), this ferocious dragon devours and destroys all within its path, and it naturally responds to anything it detects moving by attacking. Despite this hostility, they still haven't quite lost the softer side they used to show regularly, and can turn good if a trainer is persistent enough in doing so, though that doesn't mean that their modern reputation among trainers is any more positive, especially considering how Ghetsis Harmonia is famous for using one as his ace in the hole.
  • Hydreigon has had a...complicated history in the Pantheon. First, he ascended by himself under the trope of Late Character Syndrome, but his temple would eventually be joined by Volcarona who joined him under the same trope. It wouldn't be long, however, before Hydreigon became dissatisfied with the lack of his own territory and flew off from the temple one day. He would eventually find an empty point in the Hall of Personal Appearance, specifically in the Hall of Facial Attributes, and befitting his nature would begin to attempt to pick off some of the weaker residents by attempting to attack and ingest them. The news of his squatting attempt would eventually reach the Court of the Gods, and, seeing how it seemed he was quite insistent on staying there, decided to change his trope to Peripheral Heads and officially move his temple to the House, simultaneously ejecting Volcarona from the Pantheon.
  • While in general Hydreigon is a hostile entity that can't really be approached by anyone it doesn't trust, he seems to reserve special zeal for none other than Ghetsis Harmonia. Despite his Hydreigon not being the ascended one, Hydreigon still hates him for giving his species a bad name (well, more accurately, an even worse on than before) and being abusive to his Hydreigon. How abusive? Well, most evil team members have a Pokémon or form only achievable by friendship/bonding. Ghetsis' Hydreigon has a max-powered Frustration, a move whose power depends on how much the Pokémon dislikes their trainer. You can do the math from there. The Brutal Pokémon also doesn't like Dio Brando, because he's particularly and infamously guilty of animal abuse. Just ask Danny or that cat he randomly butchered mid-time stop.
  • He is notably influenced, or at least remarkably similar to famous Kaiju, specifically the destructive space dragon King Ghidorah. While Hydreigon thinks Ghidorah is a bit too hardcore (most of the time), he does regard him as a worthy foe. Ghidorah, however, thinks he's over-reaching himself. Similarly, he also sees the Dragonlord Placidusax, another multi-headed dragon with similarities to Ghidorah, as another potential rival to himself, with his raw physical power and lightning being ferocious even after getting horribly mangled. Ghidorah's Arch-Enemy, Godzilla doesn't like Hydreigon because of the similarities he has with the evil King, and because the Brutal Pokémon got in a fight challenging him for the title of the King of the Monsters. To say it ended rather poorly for Hydreigon would be an understatement.
  • Based off the Orochi, and likely Ghidorah as mentioned previously. He also happens to take some inspiration from the myths of hydras. Hearing about how the Lernaean Hydra and the Orochi were both in the Pantheon made him interested in trying to one-up then, possibly to prove himself the superior multi-headed being. They don't seem to be terribly interested in giving him the time of day, however. Chiron was quite unnerved about Hydreigon's similarities to the Hydra, given how he experienced great pain upon getting poisoned by its venom. Even if Hydreigon lacks any sort of said venom, his appearance still brings up bad memories for Chiron, causing him to avoid being around him. Because of how destructive he is, some of the more sinister gods are fond of him. Tiamat, being a multiple-headed dragon, is really fond of him and encourages he lives up to his title of "The Brutal Pokémon" while also giving him enough respect that it doesn't piss him off like Ghetsis tends to do. Hydreigon is happy to join in setting things on fire with Ragnaros the Firelord, partly because Ragnaros isn't evil so much as chaotic and has fire-based morality.
  • Being a temperamental three-headed dragon, the ascended Targaryens were immediately attracted to him due to their own connections to dragons, and wanted to find a way to tame and ride the beast. Hydreigon felt some kinship as his kind, like the Targaryens, can vary from totally psychotic or nice like being Iris' signature as champion. One even served Oba Nobunaga in one alternate history. He chose Daenerys, part of this motivated by Viserion dying. He wants to make her feel better by serving as a new third dragon, and to put the dracolich Viserion to rest.
  • He opposes, or more accurately, fears the entire Hall of Fairies. It's justifiable, given how cripplingly weak he is to Fairy-type moves, a type that was introduced in the game after his debut specifically so that there could be a balancing factor against his Dragon type, which was considered to be too broken. The prospect of getting his ass constantly kicked by cute, tiny fairies is humiliating for him, which is why he avoids the Hall or any mention of it like the plague. He is extra fearful of Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather in this regard, given that they have previous experience in taking down dragons like himself, which was itself a fairy that was taking the form to defend against a prince. Thankfully for Hydreigon, the three fairy godmothers don't really have any interest in taking him down, unless he really starts causing trouble in the Pantheon.
  • He seems to get along with Jakiro and the Ruined Dragon. The latter out of being tough-looking dragons from the same company, the former because he can relate to his Multiple Head Case due to his time as Zwelious. He also seems to be on good terms with Hagrid since he knows how to treat and spoil ferocious magical creatures like himself. On the opposite end of the spectrum, he's not a big fan of the many dragon haters/hunters that are in the Pantheon for obvious reasons, such as the Dragonborn who is capable of physically tearing out dragon's souls from their bodies, and Acnologia, a deranged human-turned-dragon who always seeks a worthy challenge to himself with the ultimate goal of eradicating all life in his world, including both dragons and humans. Surprisingly, he doesn't seem too fond of Bayle the Dread, as despite being the co-progenitor of Drakes in his home universe, he also has a tendency of killing and eating them. Even Hydreigon seems to find that insane behavior.
  • Dragonslayer Ornstein once put the Orochi Pokémon on his hit list, seeing him as a trophy he can hunt down as a pastime, and tracked him down to his temple in Personal Appearance. To the surprise of Ornstein, Nimona happened to be passing by while he was fighting Hydreigon, and it wasn't long before she jumped to the aid of the dragon and forced Ornstein to retreat. Afterwards, the two managed to surprisingly form a bit of a bond. Nimona sees a special kind of connection with Hydreigon, as they both used to be perfectly peaceful creatures, but where then feared and hunted down, eventually being outcast from society as a sort of monster and fell into a Then Let Me Be Evil mindset. While Hydreigon isn't exactly the kind of creature to fully reciprocate that connection, it seems like he still enjoys Nimona's company every now and then.
  • The tracks on Hydreigon's body are a remnant of his original design, where he would be a Cyborg with cannons on his back. He's trying to get the House of Weapons and Smithing to build back-cannons for him to use, but this hasn't met with success yet because the weight gets in the way of his flight and most of all people are hesitant on giving the Orochi Pokémon even more firepower than he already has. On the topic of mechanical beings, a certain magazine speculated that the Iron Jugulis, a Paradox version of Hydreigon from the far future, is the offspring of Hydreigon and a robot. Yes, we mean an actual robot. While most people don't take it seriously, some of the more snarky gods of the Pantheon have quipped about Hydreigon being a closeted Robosexual, something which does not amuse the dragon.
  • In another universe where only talking Pokémon live, a primordial entity that represents the world's will to survive came to the world in the form of Hydreigon to defend it against the Bittercold, another primordial entity that was the embodiment of despondency and negativity of the world. The irony of an aggresive species like Hydreigon being the shape of the force of good opposing the Bittercold is an irony even he is well aware of. though as stated before, his species did used to be nice before people tried to hunt it down for looking evil, so perhaps the form was fitting. Despite the dragon's thoughts on this and violent attitude he hates the nihilistic outlook and threat of the Bittercold, though to be fair so does every other Pokémon and trainer ever. While the Voice of Life is entirely separate from the Hydreigon in the Pantheon, it does lead to some interesting and odd connections between other entities who are the embodiments of their world's will to survive, such as The Arisen and Madoka Kaname, both of whom were former humans before taking up their mantle.

  • Katherine Elliot is a teenage goth orphan with a traumatic past who possesses a peculiar, supernatural gift: the ability to see and communicate with her personal demons, Wendell and Wild. When she was eight her family's car fell into a river and her parents died while making sure to get her out, which she blamed herself due to distracting them mid-drive. She's part of Rust Bank Catholic School for Girls, a creepy Catholic school, where she gets involved in Wendell and Wild's plan to escape to the human world and father, and make their own faire, who claim and eventually find a way to revive the dead. With the help of one of the school's nuns, Sister Helley, Kat learns that she must make peace with the events that led to her parents' deaths, as well as the flaws that bind her to her demons, setting out on a journey of self-discovery as a Hell Maiden. Eventually she ends up fighting against the corrupt heads of Klax Corp who burned down the local brewery and plan to turn the declining town into a prison complex, via the same cream that allow the demons to bring back the dead...somewhat. While Kat does get to see her parents again, the effect of the cream is temporary and she must come to terms with their passing.
  • Kat is the main human character of Wendell & Wild, the most recent Stop Motion creation of Henry Selick; the same man who gave the animated version of James Henry Trotter to the world, along with animating Jack Skellington and Coraline. There were rumblings of the Hell Maiden in the Hall of Demons and Devils, as the Satan of South Park had heard some positive words from Buffalo Belzer on his boys' most recent adventure. Though he would've preferred they were considered for ascension first, he was curious to see this new Goth find a place in the Trope Pantheon. Katherine Koniqua Elliot serves as the pantheon's current representative of the trope "A Minor Kidroduction" as her movie started when she was a kid and set up her initial motivations and headspace when it moves to the present day with her as a teenager. While somewhat upset by the fact that the revolving door of death the pantheon has will not be able to bring her parents back, she has already accepted that fact and she will always have her memories of them.
  • Kat is an afro-punk teenager who often got in trouble with the law. She was very antisocial at the beginning of the film, putting up a rough exterior, which masked a soft, lonely, fragile, scared girl who is easily pulled by her anxiety when she experiences memories of her past trauma. She has the ability to see moments ahead into the future, allowing her to do stuff like save Siobhan from a falling brick. Initially this was involuntary but after reconciling her inner trauma to break her binding oath to serve Wendell and Wild for eternity, she gained full control over this as part of her nature as a Hell Maiden. With her moody personality and experience with the supernatural, she ended up becoming friends with another protagonist from the stop motion works of Henry Selick; Coraline. Another friend she made was James Henry Trotter, who had his own adventure and who lost his parents at a young age. Their character development is somewhat different mind you, as James was about overcoming fear and standing up to himself while Kat was about overcoming her Survivor's Guilt.
  • One of the distinctions Coraline and Kat noted is the main antagonist of their story. Coraline's was the Beldam, a strange and manipulative fae, while Kat's was the heads of Klax Korp. Despite the involvement of demon brothers, Lane and Irmgard Klaxon proved more evil than them or their father Buffalo Belzar and their Private Profit Prison scheme would've proved a worse fate that the torment of the danged by said demon father! Kat notes Cruella's physical resemblance to Cruella De Vil and while perhaps not quite as wicked as the heads of Klax Korp there's no way someone in her line of business is going to be looked positively by Kat. More on the topic of stop-motion, she considers the Other Mother and Oogie Boogie to be despicable as well. On the bright side, she thinks that Jack Skellington is really cool and she'd love to see Halloweentown for herself.
  • One of her close friends in the pantheon is the little girl Ponette. She lost her mother in a car accident and tried to convinces herself that she will come back, much to everyone's annoyance, which ends up making Ponette even more depressed. She and her cousins are then sent to a boarding school, where she finds herself isolated from everyone as well as ridiculed for thinking her mother will be resurrected. However she was eventually able to accept her mom's passing and move on. Ponette never had to deal with anything supernatural, so she's not sure what she'd do if she could somehow talk to her dead mom, but like Kat knows she can't obsess over it. The two like to talk about their personal experiences overcoming the grief of losing their loved one and their schools. Occasionally she hangs out with Norm and Agatha as she thinks they're nice people and is curious at their ability to talk to the dead. Naturally she is horrified by Nekron and Black Hand's Black Lanterns, who are soulless revenants that specifically go after loved ones or anyone with an emotional connection to feast on their emotion and hearts. She fears that a Black Lantern version of her parents might be considered if Nekron succeeds at starting a new Blackest Night.
  • Her ability to see into the future is not something that the Death of Final Destination is fond of due to seeing it as a form of "cheating", as she utilized it to stop the Klaxons cause further fatalities by dismantling Rust Bank, though this is more compounded by her involvement in the (admittedly temporary) revival of the dead. She's aware of Death's reputation and would rather not be get more attention from it. Another Death, the Wolf is mostly neutral to her but slightly more positive since she was able to accept the permanence of death and live past the loss of her parents. Of the various incarnations of Death there's one that she's particularly interested in knowing more about; Death of the Endless. The Cosmic Entity is a goth like Kat Elliot, though of the more cheerful variety compared to her mopey brother Dream. She digs her style and hopes her parents at least got to meet someone like her at the end.
  • Because of her visions she has become interested in SCP-990, an entity who shows up in dreams to forewarn of disasters (though they could also be seen as threats), though she has only heard of him and does not want to have any involvement in the 'verse of the SCP Foundation. Going down the rabbit hole of prophecy led her to meet up and befriend Absol and Griffin. Griffin can understand her sadness as his whole race was wiped out, and Absol has an appealing aesthetic for a goth like Kat while being sympathetic due to how the mon was blamed for disasters they were trying to warn people about. Though it is worth noting that Griffin's prescience is a lot more expansive than Kat's, something that makes her more interested in him. Another friend she made there was the time traveler Clara Oswald, a friendly teacher with a history of doing the impossible. However she was also forced to come to terms with the inevitability of death, namely Danny Pink being ran over by a car, and saying goodbye to him a second time after he Came Back Wrong.
  • Two of her heralds, the demons Wendell and Wild, had an antagonistic role...they were just bad at it. While selfish and manipulative they really just wanted to open up their own faire and not be bossed around by their dad, and they were willing to fulfill their end of the bargain. Really, they more get played by the real villains and they departed on good terms with Kat; she has VIP access to their future faire. They're a lot different from most of the pantheon's demons, who even if they aren't evil are normally at least intimidating. Few in the Hall of Demons and Devils are even half as welcoming or reasonable, which is why she rarely ever visits. In particular she keeps her distance from the Godhand, as she's revolted by the way they get more Apostles; find people via the Behelit in their lowest moment and offer them demonhood in exchange for sacrificing someone they care about and damning their soul. She was glad to learn about some more affable members, like Sparda or South Park Satan.
  • A student at the Rust Bank Catholic Girls school, she had a nun called Sister Helley as a mentor, who was a hell maiden trained by self-professed enemy to demons and local janitor Manberg. The latter's mass collection of demons ended up playing a large part in Buffalo Belzar trying to keep his kids under his thumb since they ended up missing, but he was willing to help out when Manberg gave them back. Kat supposes he could be considered somewhat of a Foil to the crazed Denzel Crocker, who is obsessed with capturing and proving the existence of FAIRY! GOD! PARENTS! He wants to force her to help him in that, though more in the sense of pestering her and not getting the hint that she can't really help him in what he's after; it's like comparing apples to oranges. Timmy Turner has been helping her deal with his crazy teacher, along with talking about general school stuff. Kat and Harry Potter have become friends studying magic together, Harry also being another orphan that would come to terms with the inevitability of death.
  • Emperor Belos and William Stryker were mutually disgusted by her involvement with demons, ignoring of course that many of their crimes make them more "demonic" than many actual demons. Genocidally intolerant, fundamentalist assholes having mutual contempt with a noncomformist goth girl? Real shocker, ain't it. Interestingly for a psychopathic 17th century Puritan and a genocidal Philip doesn't hold anti-queer sentiment or some more "convential" bigotries so the fact she's black and friends with a trans boy isn't something he castigates her for...don't change how much she hates him, of course. Father Mozgus was repulsed that she was involved in the demonic, though she feels he's not one to talk since he ended up being corrupted as a Psuedo-Apostlenote . While she does not care for the High Sparrow due to his bigotry, especially his more villainous TV incarnation, he does give her props for helping save Rust Bank; sexist and homophobic he is, he at least tries to stick up for the little guy. Despite the religious bigots who poke accusing fingers at her, the more reasonable Christian residents know not to be judgemental and interested in her status as a hell maiden. While they let her keep to herself, the exorcists and the nuns of St. Katherine's Parrish have been giving her some help and advice.

  • Longzhu is a wish dragon inhabiting a jade teapot that was once an imperial lord, becoming a dragon after death. In order to enter Heaven he needed to serve ten masters, giving three wishes to each. His tenth was Din Song, a working-class college student with big dreams but small means who tries to use his magic in order to impress Li Na and rekindle their friendship. However he has to deal with Mr Wang wanting the teapot for himself to aid his privately failing business, and his henchman Pockets who had ambitions of his own. Initially cynical and just wanting the three wishes over and done with, after enough time with Din Song and his sincerity he realized why he became a wish dragon; in life Long was a selfish and greedy man whose son died in a war and his daughters were sent away in arranged marriages, all so he could gain more power. Along on his deathbed, becoming a wish dragon was a punishment to teach him the value of friendship and selflessness. He finally learned that with Long, culminating in getting in the way of Pockets' Midas Touch to save Din. Despite earning a place in Heaven he argued to go back and grant Din's last wish in order to bring Mr Wang back to life after Pockets killed him. As a consequence Long has to serve ten more masters and grant their wishes, but now he has a new more positive outlook on life and appreciation of the smaller things.
  • In what could be a little ironic, Longzhu ascended to the Trope Pantheon by a little personal wish of the Genie on the Earth Dragonballs, for "another friend like me". Pretty apt that Shenron would summon the enchanted teapot of Longzhu, as Wish Dragon has a lot of similarities to the story of Aladdin. The key differences being Wish Dragon is set in modern China and that the wish-granter has to go on his own character journey too. Through some more cautious wordings with his wishes to Shenron, Long is able to freely exist outside of the teapot though he is unable to grant wishes unless someone actually holds the teapot. Genie's magic also allowed him to be visible even when no-one is holding it. The titular wish dragon represents the trope of Three Wishes, though Din Song showed it's possible to haggle for multiple wishes to count as one. Note that's three wishes per person, and all it takes is being the sole possessor of his enchanted teapot. Because of this, his teapot, which also acts as his symbol, is kept under a measure of security to prevent abuse of his power.
  • As seen by Pockets and his goons, if a master only got one or two wishes before being taken away it doesn't "subtract" from any other master so theoretically one could put off his now 30 wishes to grant in perpetuity. Because of this, if it were to ever become a treasure there would be a rule of "two wishes maxes" before one could no longer use it. The Grand United Alliance of Good are the ones keeping it secure, so the only way the Grand United Alliance of Evil is expecting to make Long do their bidding is if they manage to steal it. Long was kind of annoyed that it's going to take even longer to return to Heaven, but he looks on the bright side as a way to see more of life and meet new people. Puss in Boots theorizes the GUAG taking this initiative was because of the recent additions of the Earth Dragonballs and the Dark Forest. During his downtime the wish dragon got caught up on his search for a wish and it didn't take long for him to come to respect Puss. Just like him Puss learned the true value of life, albeit under different circumstances. Long is curious as to what the Wolf would think of him given his own character arc, though as he is already dead in a sense and is only in the living world as he's going to have to serve ten more masters, this incarnation of Death considers him out of his hands. He does like the lesson he learned, mind you.
  • Rule-wise, there are a few things he can't do. Time travel, making someone fall in love and killing people are things he can't do. Unlike the Genie he can bring someone Back from the Dead and avoid the "it's not a pretty picture" downside, but their rules aren't too different. Outside of wishes and general magic, he can also shapeshift, such as taking on a human form again to be seen and blend in to the scenery. Some have suggested loopholes (ie: turning someone into a fish so they'll die on land) but he's in no rush to point them out. As for how strong he is compared to the other wish granting dragon? He isn't sure but doesn't feel the need to prove it, and he and Shenron are cordial with one another. Long is thankful for him granting the wish to bring him to the Trope Pantheon in the first place, and he's interested in meeting a "born and bred wish dragon". Shenron mentioned that he's recently looked up a fanfic where he had something of the reverse, a What If? where he became a humanoid fighter.
  • He is both genie and dragon, though the genie part is more often what shines. Longzhu is an accepted honorary member of the Hall of Draconic Beings, a fact that the Dark Dragon is disgusted by; he hates how a pure human became a dragon, and asides from wanting to capture him for his own wishes he also wants to vent out his own Fantastic Racism towards him. Rule of thumb is that he's cordial with heroic dragons like Falkor and Mushu, and very much the opposite with the super hostile ones like Grima and Acnologia. He's also revolted by the Sorceress' plan to rip off the wings of baby dragons for an immortality potion and then kill them "to stop them squirming". Much as how it didn't take any effort to recognize his status as the Genie's Expy, he also recognized Aladdin as who Din Song was an Expy of and he decided to get to know him. He's hoping Din Song himself will ascend one day, of course, but he still likes Aladdin and enjoys hanging out with his friends. He's friendly with the other benevolent genies, like Hoopa who also needed to undergo an ego check and personal growth.
  • There's one dragon that Longzhu felt a great accord with, that being the Dragon/Grigori. A former Arisen whose job is, long story short, to defeat the current Dragon sent out by the Seneschal, and then go kill said Seneschal to take their place and keep sustaining the world. He failed at that final step, and thus was transformed by the Seneschal into the new Dragon to find a new Arisen to succeed where he had failed. With them failing in life and being transformed into draconic forms as punishment, even if they had different lives and circumstances leading to that, Long wishes that Grigori would give him more of the time of day as he's much more concerned with finding people who can successfully stand a chance against him rather than talk about events long past. There is a mutual if not as brought up amicability with the two, even if the former imperial lord is intimidated by his awesome might and fearsome reputation.
  • While Longzhu's exact rank in the nobility of China isn't clear, he was definitely a powerful imperial lord, which only fueled his vanity. In hindsight he feels he deserved being shunned for his callous dickery. While Long has ties to the House of Royalty it's not a place he visits often since he doesn't like how he acted as a royal. If a member of royalty manages to remain humble and dedicated to the greater good, such as Artoria Pendragon, he will respect them. Since he was a former member of the nobility that became a dragon, House Targaryen is interested in him even outside of being able to grant wish. Some of the more malicious members want to capture his teapot and make his power theirs, such as the Mad King who wants to wish to be able to become a mighty dragon capable of breathing wildfire. The more reasonable Targaryens tend to get along with Long more, musing on their histories. He's not yet sure what to think of Daenerys, since her story isn't done and whether her Adaptational Villainy in the show is a foreshadowing for an eventual book row is a mystery only George RR Martin knows.
  • Longzhu and Kuzco are really good friends, and it's not hard to see why. Kuzco was an even more arrogant and haughty member of the nobility, and a botched attempt to assassinate him led him to be turned into a llama and forced to pond with the peasant Pacha who he had cruelly dismissed previously for the sake of his vanity project. His ego was put through the ringer and it led to him reflecting on his past actions and trying to be a more compassionate, but no less flamboyant leader. Yzma was excited by Longzhu's arrival, mainly because she wants to take control of him so she can wish to be empress forever and restore her beauty she had when she was young. Her plan of capturing him was to trick him into eating some shrimp chips laced with a potion that'd transform him into a mouse. It actually worked...until Long remembered "oh yeah, I'm a shapeshifting dragon" and just transformed back. It was so embarassing even Yzma chided herself by saying "why didn't I start with just stealing that blasted teapot!"
  • One of his most curious friendships is with Anton Ego. You wouldn't think they had anything in common at first, but as it turns out they did. When human, Longzhu craved the finest things money could buy, including food, however when he tried simple shrimp chips he found them surprisingly enjoyable. Anton Ego was a harsh food critic with a snobbish taste for French food however ratatouille, a simple "peasant's dish", was a burst of nostalgia that made him re-evaluate his outlook and renewed his enjoyment in food. Though from different social strata, the two were both rather arrogant individuals that grew out of it. Long is curious about French food as he's never gotten the opportunity to have it and wishes to learn more from him and Remy. Nowadays Long no longer puts as high a value on riches, and he considers Mr Burns and Fafnir's planned wish of wanting even more wealth to be a stale one, pointing out that it would never actually give them happiness. They disagree and through resources and personal power respectively intend to steal his enchanted teapot so they can make their wildest dreams come true.
  • With the knowledge that his old life as an imperial lord was an empty one lacking in true happiness, he has started communicating with other deities who know it's Lonely at the Top, like Ebeneezer Scrooge. Scrooge was once a miserly old man who, after a visit from three ghosts on Christmas eve, realized that generosity and kindness wasn't just something he should give to the world, but would lighten up his own life. Mr Krabs seemed genuinely confused by this, as he cannot fathom money as not a pathway to happiness, however he did feel a bit bad learning that his son died at war. If there's anything that might make Krabs stray from his love of money, it's probably his daughter Pearl (even if he's not the best father), Mrs Puff, and on a good day Spongebob Squarepants. Long once tried a Krabby Patty from Spongebob and enjoyed it, being reminded of the new appeal of simple food he got from shrimp chips, and coming around to liking Spongebob's easy going and kind nature.
  • With his new outlook on what a jerk he used to be, Longzhu has gained a market dislike of the Corrupt Corporate Executive who will stoop to any low to get what they want, possibly even because they enjoy it. Within the Trope Pantheon exists Operation Lifedrain, which includes Frank Underwood, Noah Cross, Renata Glasc, and JP; each of them are uniquely horrible in their own way. Frank is President Evil who only got his position through careful manipulation and committing every possible irredeemable act to secure the position. Renata Glasc creates perfumes and other products that puts the users under her control, with the ultimate goal of getting revenge over the city of Piltover which murdered her parents. JP presents himself as a benevolent investor of developing countries, but really is just there to rob them of their money and assets dry right under their noses, and is perfectly OK with murdering those who get in the way of his plans, framing people for terrorism, and blowing up fighting arenas to do so. Perhaps the most disgusting is the casually incestuous rapist Noah Cross, who directly murdered hundreds of people by causing a dam to collapse in his plan to take over the water systems of Los Angeles and become even richer than he already was. To them, the idea of regretting their selfish ways even after a literal million years is laughable, and rather than any potential lession on the Wish Dragon's past they merely see his wish-granting powers as a proverbial meal ticket.
  • Before his Heel Realization he was kind of a Jackass Genie. This isn't in the sense of making wishes go against the spirit of wish seeker and more in just encouraging them to use up the three wishes so he could move on to the next master/find his way to Heaven. Following his Character Development he is more willing to give people time for a wish, though if an evil-doer has possession he won't be helpful; Pocket's wish to turn things to gold not having an off switch could be read as a subtle screwing him over, which happened when he touched himself with his gold hand. Jack Horner has noticed this and he's decided that he's going to word his wishes more carefully. Despite the no kill rule, the Lich is cunning enough to word his wishes carefully in a way to direct him to way of granting mass death and avoid any monkey's paw after his wish to Prismo got altered. Because of his inherently magical nature Moro and Lord Tirek desire to leech off and consume his power for themselves, though both are also practical enough to force him to make some wishes to benefit their overall goals before they would try that.
  • Jack figures Long can't grant as big a wish to take all magic as the Wishing Star, partly because it would violate Long's no-kill rule in some way but also because he's not that overpowered a wish granter, however does have ideas the wish dragon fears they would work. Jack Horner's wishes are in short "I wish you only grant my wishes!", "I wish for an indestructible map to the Wishing Star" and "I wish you'll do whatever I tell you to do even if it's not a wish!" Longzhu is notably one of a few deities not bewildered by Jack's Surprisingly Normal Backstory of somehow turning out the way he is despite having loving parents and financial stability growing up. This is because he was also similarly well-off but was uncaring and callous, albeit never to the villainous degree that Jack Horner is. Long has a great dislike of the unrepentantly selfish brats like Joffrey Baratheon, whom in lieu of unable to wish for his enemies' death instead wants to force Long to wish for Westeros to unquestionably accept him as the rightful heir no matter what he does.
  • With his similarity the Genie, Longzhu was surprisingly sparse on his commentary on Jafar. Like Longzhu Jafar was a human that became a wish granting being, however it's under totally different circumstances; he simply sought more and more power and Aladdin tricked him into Becoming the Genie, learning too late that includes all the restrictions that come with it. Rather than any reflection, Jafar's immediate action upon getting out was try to force a Freeing the Genie situation. Unsurprisingly, he's not a fan of him even if he knows from experience the appeal of greed. Long is overall dissapointed more than anything he has no intention of changing his ways. Having been Lonely at the Top he thinks Voldemort's existence is a sad one, as his utter lack of value on companionship makes his life an empty one in Long's opinion. Admittedly this is projection on his part since Voldemort sincerely can't understand why he'd think that and only sees the wish dragon as a way to obtain his ambitions. It's worth noting that this isn't some Sympathy for the Devil situation as Long acknowledges the Dark Lord as heinous, however he also doubts he would have an actual answer to a question.
Longzhu: "Tell me Thomas, do you actually feel happy just being in it for yourself?"
  • Voldemort ended up killing Long via Avada Kedava, not so much because he was affected by his speech but because the dragon called him by his actual name. It didn't last long as the heavens pointed out their arrangement still wasn't over and outside of the revolving door rule of the Trope Pantheon, he needs to still serve more masters before he can finally pass on. The dragon wisely avoided confronting him again, though his point stands. He hasn't tried the same on Jack Horner, who is similarly sociopathic but legitimately content with being purely selfish. Shenron advised him to keep far away from King Piccolo who seeks to use him for three wishes only to blast him and the teapot so nobody can use Long's wishes again. For the most part, it worked the first time.
  • Longzhu considers Erazor Djinn somewhat of a Shadow Archetype. Both were chained to granting wishes for past transgressions, and proved quite cynical. However Long realized the value of life and friendship, while Erazor only stew in his resentment and became an even greater menace to the world. Interestingly for all his evil he still has to grant wishes in the spirit of the wish granter, allowing Sonic to avoid any backfiring when wishing for his actions to be undone and sealing him in his lamp forever; that was some good thinking by the hedgehog as far as he's concerned. Long's not a fan of evil wish granters who pervert the spirit of the wish such as Calypso. That being said, he's a tiny bit sympathetic to Desiree as rather than becoming a genie due to past transgressions she had her heart broken by a selfish sultan and her dreams ruined. Interestingly she tried being a Benevolent Genie at first but grew bitter from her own wishes never being granted; it's an interesting if sad and regrettable reversal of his situation, as he has put it.

@Radio Contact Line, you may want to correct some of the links on the lists of allies.

  • Ash Ketchum: Goals
  • Gyarados: Power Gains and Losses
  • Tyranitar: Fantastical Beasts
  • Hagrid's first name is Rubeus, not Reubus

@RJ: Kat's theme song should be "Ma & Pa" by Fishbone. (You only listed the artist)

@RJ: The evil Shadow Dragons (mostly Omega Shenron) would probably find Long deplorable for having been greedy human in life and then being a wish-granter who fulfilled the whims of mortals for his own ends (at first)

@ Tom Gut: I think so. Just keep a reference of the old profile and adapt the parts you think still apply. For me I tend to bookmark the original profile and use it as reference in my rework

Let me follow up to what I talked with Radio Contact Line last page. Here are the Galar legends I am adopting. Are you guys alright? They were previously approved a while back and I just want to double check to be safe

  • Zacian and Zamazenta, Co-Deities of Sword-Shield Contrasts: adopted from Radio Contact Line by way of Bazzardreturns. The former said they would let me finish this and I still believe they fit this trope, however this and below I wanted to re-propose to make sure everything about it is fine and dandy. The box legendaries of Generation 8's Sword and Shield are noble wolves Zacian and Zamazenta. A Fairy and Fighting type, they gain power and the Steel type by wielding a legendary sword and shield that have seen better days, and use them in combat
  • Eternatus, Deity of Eldritch Dragons: adopted from Tropers/Mattman_the_Storyteller. Eternatus is an ancient entity that landed in a meteor 20,000 years ago and when it wakes it causes the Darkest Day, leading Pokemon to go on a rampage as Kaiju sized beings. It's Dragon type and one of the more obviously eldritch asides from maybe Giratina. A skeletal monstrosity that is made of black crystalline material connected by translucent red energy, it generates Dynamax energy akin to radiation and has the ability to warp space-time, along with general alien and otherness. Its One-Winged Angel form is a colossal Giant Hand Of Doom, except each "finger" is a dragon head. A destructive entity that once laid waste to Galar

[up] It's okay to copy-paste some things over that you think are alright as-is. Just try to remember the standards, 4 sentences per paragraph is the minimum baseline.

[up][up] Both of those ideas are fine by me, though I can't really vote on it considering one of the ideas used to belong to me (and before me Bazzard).

Be sure not to forget about this post I made earlier on this page. I have 3 [tup]'s so far.

@mdalsted: Considering Jules' eventual leaning toward being a monster hunter, could head towards interactions with other monster hunters, starting with Buffy Summers as an example. Given that Jeff is based of Newgrounds content creator Johnny Utah AND is a trucker apathetic to the chaos around (on top of being a former soldier), I can see an interaction with The Tankmen working out. Cordelia would fit in the Shopkeeper's Guild coalition. Mumba could have an Unknown Rival in Johhny Bravo for being baffled at how something like Mumba somehow attracts ladies.

@Radio: The Bugsnax are creatures that Hydreigon would have to learn to avoid, because their parasitic nature attempting to encourage the minds of predators to eat more of them for assimilation purposes can pose a big problem to Hydreigon's gluttony. Add something about that and you'll get my [tup].

I have decided that I have put in enough work on this profile to put it up for votes. I am willing to fix things if I can but formatting and merging might be too hard. There are some left over notes of asking for help. They were always there every draft but no one helped me rephrase them. I have cut Father and the Homunculi, The Elric Brothers, and everyone in the TBD section.

Since some of my backlog is clean due to Maliketh going up, Zacian and Zamazenta going to someone else and Hydreigon going up soon, I'd like to make two new propositions:

The Partygoers are one of the many Liminal Beings in the world of the Backrooms. Their primary modus operandi is to appear as friendly as possible and lure Wanderers into their home turf, "Level Fun =)", through physical and digital messages, claiming that a party is going on there. Said Level Fun is actually a massive labyrinth of rooms of incredibly liminal and empty-feeling party rooms with stray balloons and "cake" littered everywhere, with nauseating colors everywhere you look. Justified, as the entire Level is actually a trap barely trying to pass itself off as a legitimate party so the Partygoers can kill and eat the Wanderers who end up there or turn them into another Partygoer. The Death Angels are a race of alien beings who invade Earth after their home planet is destroyed. While they are blind, they have incredibly ultra-sensitive hearing, so much so that any sort of noise above about 50 decibels alerts them, causing them to hone into wherever the target is and kill whoever or whatever was too loud. The problem becomes so bad for the humans living in their world have to rework life to not tip them off, such as using sand to muffle noisy footsteps, using sign language to communicate, and everyday activities like playing board games being modified by using things other than plastic pieces because said plastic is too noisy. Their ultra-sensitive hearing actually ends up being their downfall, as sufficiently high-pitch noises can overbear their senses and kill them.
