Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Who's the god of Engineered Heroics?

Right now, Syndrome is the god of Glory Hounds, but I think that Engineered Heroics would suit him better.

For reference, he wants to be seen as a superhero, but he killed dozens of superheroes.

Check out my Pantheon adoptables!

[up] I couldn't find a representative for Engineered Heroics in a Hall that made sense, nor any Pantheon contributor that had an idea for it in their sandbox. That said, I'm unsure of whether changing Syndrome's trope is a good idea so I won't be voting on it.

  • Opposed by: The Hall of Opposing Fate
  • Dismissed by: The Joker, Yuuki Terumi
  • The Bittercold is a mysterious Eldritch Abomination with no known origins. It feeds off of the despair and negativity of life in general, which it is made of as well. It’s end goal is to destroy the world for no real reason but that is within its nature as the embodiment of people's despondency. Causing catastrophes, conjuring ice and being an entity of ice itself, it would cause beings like Munna to give into it, Kyurem into thinking its victory is inevitable, and Hydreigon to pretty much throw lives at the thing and its plans until one of them manages to deal with, uncaring of how many perish at the hands of the Bittercold. When the heroes manage to kill it, the Glacier Palace, which the Bittercold made its base of operations and levitated into the air as well, which put it out of the reach of most, collapsed in on itself and was destroyed completely, and the threat of the Bittercold was ended forever...well, until emerging from the Trope Pantheon, that is.
  • This thing was thought long vanquished from the Trope Pantheon, some time following Nyarlathotep and Philemon leaving to play their Cosmic Chess Game elsewhere. But so long as despair and negativity exists, it can always return. The Forever War between different factions, the rise of new, great and terrible evils, the ennui and frustration at the persistence of Evil and Destruction...it all felt like a Vicious Cycle, a Forever War that Good had failed to end. This negativity allowed the Bittercold to have its grand rebirth, to the horror of every single Pokémon deity regardless of their alignment. If anything could make Cyrus think eliminating spirit is the right thing after all, it is probably the Bittercold. And for Kyurem, It's Personal. They fell under a fatalism towards the end of the world but was able to be convinced of the heroes' efforts. That said, this is just one incarnation of Kyurem and most iterations do not share that fatalistic nihilism.
  • While all Pokemon are enemies of the Bittercold, one worth mentioning is Hydreigon. In the Bittercold's timeline, the Voice of Life took the form of Hydreigon, which led to it being seen as a force of doom when this Hydreigon was one of the nicest mons you'll ever meet. He ended up being shattered by Kyurem however recovered due to being an incarnation and champion of the world's will to survive. The irony of an aggressor like Hydreigon being the shape of the force of good opposing the Bittercold is any irony even the none-too-bright dragon was aware of. Hydreigon itself was once a species that actually was nice but ancient people hunted it for looking evil, which led to the species being aggressive in general. Despite the dragon's thoughts on this and violent attitude he hates the nihilistic outlook and threat of the Bittercold, teaming up with Swamp Thing to fight it. As champion of the Green, the Bittercold regards him as a similar being and threat to itself as the Voice of the World. Beyond the Earth, the ascended Green Lanterns are high on the Bittercold's threat list because of their ability to weaponize Heroic Willpower and semi-regular fighting planetary-level threats. The Blue Lanterns, mainly their leader Saint Walker, may be an even greater foe, and both Ion and Adara are among the entities the Bittercold is most concerned about. It is also concerned about Parallax, but more as a rival as fear can help negativity and despair, but the Fear Entity has its own way in doing things. Umbrax, who embodies guilt and shame, finds the Bittercold more palatable.
  • The Bittercold can generate a thing known as "Wind of Despair", a wind which contains so much negative energy, it can suffocate anything around Bittercold. Normally it can only affect beasts and whatnot with humans being mainly unaffected by it, but the more negative energy it feeds upon, the more powerful it becomes. And with stuff like House of Hatred and Rancor, which oozes with negative emotions, you can imagine how much of a threat it can be. It has the power to make objects float, with ice being the most noticeable element it can use that power on. Its temple is a giant glacier palace which the Bittercold can lift up and move to some other place. With this in mind, it is not a stretch to imagine its end of the world would be that of an Endless Winter, akin to what the Night King aspires to. The Night King was quite impressed at the Bittercold for almost succeeding in its bleak goals, considering the much lighter tone Pokémon has to his own universe, and has learned to encourage the monstrosity to spread the cold and despair. Having his humanity ripped out long ago, he is immune to the suffocating negativity of the Eldritch Abomination. To Melisandre, the Bittercold is the Great Other, or at least an approximate manifestation, and destroying it is second in priority to stopping the Others in her eyes.
  • The newly forged temple of the Bittercold is a recreation of the Great Glacier, except now completely deprived of any living thing. Virtually no-one ever enters, as being the presence of this thing leads to a level of cold and despondency that's suffocating. It's probably the most inhospitable part of the whole Hall of Ice and Cold, and the absolute opposite kind of welcome you'd expect from visiting Jack Frost's temple. The pessimisitic nihilism of the Bittercold is opposed to everything the Guardians of Childhood stand for, and not even Pitch wants it to win...admittedly Pitch feeds more off fear than negativity, and Evil Versus Oblivion is still in effect, but the Eldritch Abomination still disturbs him. The icy menace is interested (well, ass much as it can even BE interested) in how the Groke is present since it finds tragic cryokinetics to be...apt. And its powers useful. Both Simon Petrikov and Victor Fries dread and despise this icy embodiment of despair because they are ice-based figures that experienced deep despair. There is, however, one cryokinetic very happy to see it return; Eis Shenron. With the except of Nuova, the Shadow Dragons seek the end of everything and Eis is a particularly cruel and deceptive Shadow Dragon with power over ice. He's a being born as a sort of "negative karma" response to over-usage of the Dragonballs, so he might recognize the Bittercold as something similar to himself.
  • Because the Bittercold's goal is to destroy the world, it's naturally going to have most of the Trope Pantheon wanting its destruction; such is the expected outcome of being a single-driven Omnicidal Maniac. With so many enemies by virtue of being a despair-spreading destroyer, it would be easier to list those that it focuses on as a threats. For starters, every single Hope Bringer like Auriel is an anathema to the Bittercold's very existence. Ahura Mazda is utterly opposed to the Bittercold since he rules on the belief good will always triumph on the end, while the Bittercold's folders have essentially given up and think everything is doomed. This ideology is also polar opposite to Aslan, who has noted the icy menace to be not too different from the White Witch herself. Jadis takes exception to the comparison, though rather than any moral offense it's because her Endless Winter is a means to the end of domination; yes she did use the Deplorable Word but that was more of a Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum than destruction for its own sake. Arguably the greatest Foil of this Eldritch Abomination is Madoka Kaname, a magical girl who became the abstract embodiment of hope.
  • Even some other destructive deities wouldn't call themselves fans. Nagash, for example, seeks to wipe out all life, but he doesn't just want an empty universe; instead his ego and lust for power is so great he wants the rest of existence to be his undead slaves forever. He doesn't like the Bittercold's ways of going about it due to his desire for control, and because he considers the Bittercold something akin to a "Chaos God-lite". The Seer is a prophetic being who wishes to kill everything in the universe, however it doesn't just want to mindlessly end everything but personally get to kill all life so it can fully appreciate what it is doing. Also, there's Mephisto, who spreads hate rather than despair and sees the Bittercold as competition. Surtr and the Light of Destruction are more accepting of the Bittercold as they share a fatalistic, self-affirming belief in their own victory bringing the end of all things and that they're an inevitable aspect of the cosmos, however they still see the Bittercold as competition. This is because Surtr is elementally opposite of the Bittercold and the Light of Destruction is interested in mentally subjugating people to worship it first. By contrast, the Bittercold is straight-forward and emotionless.
  • The Bittercold would normally be incapable of proper alliances since it isn't sentient the way most would understand, but its presence around other beings like it has given it comprehension...though only in the sense of "how do I fulfill my nature as an apotheosis of negativity", making it a pawn of more cognizant yet similar entities such as Chaos. It is motivated simply to follow its nature, and that's all it really needs or cares about; it doesn't care for individuals like Linkara pointing out flaws in its motive (though does take note of his ability to punch above his weight class), as the Bittercold is content with what it is. Linkara's own enemy Lord Vyce sees the Bittercold as an abomination like the Entity that needs to be destroyed. Despite his own nihilism and hatred for people the Joker sees the Bittercold and its methods to be miserably boring, something he shares in common with Yuuki Terumi. However with Terumi, he has a much more sadistic flavor of despair he personally wants to inflict on the world. His friend Zamasu views the Bittercold as a consequence for mortal being's own follies but he also considers it a threat to his worldview and something that gets in the way of his own vision, even if it's arguably more destructive than the Bittercold could ever hope for.
  • With simple but concise desires for the apocalypse it is similar to the Dark Star, though its methods differ. The fact the Dark Star will eventually destroy it too when no longer needed isn't something the Bittercold cares for, as the end of everything is their shared desire. As much as it can enjoy anything it all, it does enjoy Chaos as a force that will exist As Long as There Is Evil and will perpetuate and feast off negativity until no-one is left to feel anything. If Hajun was physically capable of forming alliances the Hadou God would undoutedly be attuned to it, and even if he cannot accept any he does find the Bittercold a useful tool, though the emotions utilized are different; the Bittercold utilizes despondent feelings, while Hajun spreads murderous rage. As an incarnation of despair, the Bittercold is begrudgingly aware that it falls into the realm of Despair of the Endless, however she represents...well, more like is despair in all its forms, both good and bad. Though it feels a kindred presence, they are not what you'd call allies as Despair doesn't have any apocalyptic goals. Dis is another kindred spirit; though the fallen one can only appreciate the anguish the Bittercold brings, with his imprisonment in a glacier in the bottom of the Inferno makes the icy evil of the entity bemusing to him.
  • To those with the temerity to mock the Bittercold, they will sometimes do so by calling it "the GUAD's Special Snowflake". The existence of such an alliance is seen as validation by some for what the Bittercold is all about, considering there are enough omnicidal maniacs to make such an alliance. Of course like any alliance they have a variety of motives as to why they want to destroy the world, and some aren't even omnicidal but simply see it as a means to an end. Among the new allies of the Bittercold are leading figures like Nekron or Mr Shadow who's "universal function" means they think the cosmos should be silent, figures like The Batman That Laughs or Kefka Palazzo who have sincerely nihilistic beliefs but they get way too much of a kick from watching the world burn and stomping on the ashes. A wide and general variety of motives, but the Bittercold doesn't care so long as it gets the same results. Apocalypmon is particularly fond of the Bittercold as he is a being born from leftover data from countless ancient Digimon that had failed to Digivolve and perished in the process. The Heartless of different Mon, if you will. Dark Gaia is another force that as much as a Feral Villain can express it appreciates the Bittercold, with its own darkness spreading negativity.
  • The plan of the nihilists who followed it was that, as they believed the world was beyond saving, just let the Bittercold wipe it out so a better, new one could come about. Just wipe the slate clean...which is something Nurgle has in mind. The Chaos God represents not just diseases, but stagnation and despair, and some would argue pushing the Reset Button on the Warhammer 40000 galaxy is an idea worth merit. Of course, like Chaos trusting the Bittercold to make a better new world is seen as woefully short-sighted because making anything better goes against their nature. However, a large reason why this menace is "new and improved" is because it has been feeding off the frustration of the Trope Pantheon's Forever War and this has led to some wondering in a defeatist tone that maybe it should win. Among the mortal world, the Bittercold comfortable with either pawns and willing acolytes to its way of "thinking", such as the despair-addicted Junko Enoshima who finds its existence validation of her beliefs, as the Bittercold is basically despair and hopelessness in an icy form. The Antagonist finds a certain amount of kinship with the Bittercold due to his own misanthropic and nihilistic outset, though he prefers to do his own thing. Owlman used to be an ally as learning about the nature of the multiverse filled him with the belief nothing mattered, however after realizing he is too good an idea to ever die so long as Batman exists, he has abandoned this nihilism.
  • Is sort of an "ally" with The Idea of Evil, as the Bittercold was originally made out of negative emotions of non-humans, allowing it cover up gaps in its power an ungodly god born of man cannot. Back in the old days it used to be part of "The Satanic Spirits of Pure Evil" with Diablo, Chernabog and Griffith, with Nyarlathotep making the Bittercold Co-Dragons with Griffith. But those were the old days; Griffith's main shtick is being a false beacon of hope and desires to soar ever higher. The despair of the Bittercold is useful, but he regards the being as more of a rival. Diablo and Chernabog still see the Bittercold as a useful asset. It is worth noting that none of these individuals are reliable allies because, well, their goal isn't the end of the world. They certainly feel a kindred spirit with the Bittercold, but world destruction in of itself is not their goal. Aku is more of a Dystopia Justifies the Means kind of guy but he does kind of like the Bittercold as they are both Made of Evil and spread misery wherever they go. And while the Dementors still need life to exist so they can feed off despair, the negativity generates and embodied by the Bittercold is quite beneficial to them. And of course, there's the Heartless who gravitate towards the Bittercold as a likeminded individual even if they aren't too interested in its end goal.

Chief Vitalstatistix, God of Being Too Important to Walk (Abraracourcix, Majestix, Piggywiggy)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vitalstatistix.png
  • Demigod (Lesser God after taking the magic potion)
  • Symbol: The Chieftain's Shield
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Often Carried Around On His Shield, Butt-Monkey, Proud Warrior Race Guy (and takes pride in it), Reasonable Authority Figure on good days, Large Ham, Henpecked Husband, Meaningful Name/Punny Name, (views himself as though can really be the) Only Sane Man, short temper, and can easily be fooled or misled, Shield Bash (though never uses it for defense), Badass Normal
  • Domain(s): Chief, (Not) Walking, Gaul, Strength, Falling
  • Followers: Witch of the Waste, Master Blaster, Dwarf kings in Warhammer, Goblin Alchemists
  • Heralds: His shield bearers and his wife Impedimenta.
  • Allies: Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix (his "champions"), Getafix, Cacofonix, Unhygienix, Cleopatra VII, Xena, Lucky Luke, Thor, The Lost Vikings, Remy (Ratatouille), Barney Gumble, Captain Haddock,, Clopin Trouillefou, Esmeralda (Disney), Charlotte DunoisQuasimodo, Belle and The Beast,
  • Enemies: Marcus Junius Brutus, Claude Frollo, Loki Laufeyson, Mercury, Bacchus (the last three more out of principle than anything else by virtue of Roman connections), Maximus Decimus Meridius (borderline Rivals, really), Vulcan, Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (mixed with Conflicting Opinion), Carter Pewterschmidt
  • Worthy Opponent: Julius Caesar,
  • Dislikes: Anton Ego,
  • Rivals: Hercules
  • Commonality Connection: Thorgrim Grudgebearer (another who is carried around instead of walking)
  • Fears: Rayquaza
  • Vitalstatistix is the Chief of the Village of indomitable Gauls who have prevented the armies of Roman from conquering the Village. He rides on a shield carried by his two shield bearers, saying that it is a position of honour to carry the Village's chief around. He has fought against the Roman army while serving under Vercingetorix. He tries to keep the people of the Village under control but can just as easily get dragged into the arguments.
  • The first time Chief Vitalstatistix entered the Pantheon was right after the ascension of his village's "champion", Asterix. He arrived to celebrate Asterix's ascension with a village feast but Asterix suggested that he should walk around the Pantheon first to see what it is like, this led Vitalstatistix's to yell at Asterix with Vitalstatistix saying that as a Chief he must always be carried by two shield bearers at all times. Vitalstatistix was still complaining much later however he was so focused on complaining that he didn't notice a sign that knocked off his shield. While that was going on Asterix was apparently talking to the Court of Gods suggesting that Vitalstatistix could be responsible for the role of being Too Important to Walk. The Court of Gods agreed and gave Asterix the job of telling Vitalstatistix about his ascension, Asterix explained to Vitalstatistix that new role was in recognition of the importance of his position of Chief of the Gaulish Village. Naturally, his shield bearers came with him too to continue serving their purpose. He still falls off quite often, though. Naturally his wife Impedimenta came as his herald, and promptly sent Vitalstatistix out to get some shopping from the Temple of Food.
  • Because being a shield bearer is supposed to be a position of honor, Vitalstatistix is now averse to acquiring alternate bearers since the two he has got are the best of the shield bearers in the village that he has had. He doesn't like to use machines (due to the fact when he did try to use machines he fell of his shield) or other non-sentient carriers or using alternate methods like getting his shield to just float so he can Shield Surf in the air. This doesn't stop his shield bearers from finding such methods of convenience for themselves, though.
    • Even if Asterix and Obelix are his greatest warriors, Vitalstatistix has dismissed the idea of having them carry him in the Pantheon since when they did do it before it was like he was standing on a very steep slope and the villagers were laughing at them. He is willing to have Obelix act as his shield bearer by himself but he prefers have two shield shield bearers experience.
  • Several deities believe that Vitalstatistix has a weakness to soothsayers. Vitalstatistix finds himself lured to Madame Xanadu's temple by other deities or he gets a visit from a fake soothsayer called Ikol. However Vitalstatistix had experience with con man so he asked Asterix to arrange a surprise for Ikol to see if he was a real soothsayer but told Asterix not to let him know what it is, so the Ikol can't trick Vitalstatistix into telling the soothsayer what it is. Asterix decide to ask his friend Thor to help him with the surprise by sneaking up on Ikol. The minute Ikol layed eyes on Thor he tried to run only to be caught by Thor who said with a smile "Hello Brother". After that Ikol transformed into his true form the god of mischief Loki while telling his brother it was just a prank. Vitalstatistix laughed at Loki's misfortune.
  • Asterix tries to keep Vitalstatistix away from alcohol just in case he sends Asterix and Obelix to win another drunken wager with a god in the pantheon. During one night of drinking at Moe's Tavern, a drunken Vitalstatistix decided to boast about the time he had Asterix and Obelix steal Caesar's laurel wreath to flavour a stew to win a wager with his brother-in-law. Several deities that were in the tavern and were drinking with Vitalstatistix didn't believe him at all and the Roman god of booze Bacchus (Greek name Dionysus) dared Vitalstatistix to prove it by having Asterix and Obelix stealing Caesar's laurel wreath from his temple and use it to flavour a stew that Bacchus (Greek name Dionysus) would eat. Afterwards Asterix and Obelix were seen in the hall of Motivations for War sneaking into Julius Caesar's temple, after that there was a lot of noise coming and sounds of fighting coming from Caesar's temple and both Asterix and Obelix coming out holding Caesar's laurel wreath. Afterwards Vitalstatistix invited Bacchus to a feast with one of the dishes being a stew flavour with Caesar's laurel wreath. Bacchus being annoyed that Vitalstatistix won the Wager but he was impressed by Impedimenta's stew that he decided to accept his loss.
  • Because Gaul has had a history defending its territory from Rome, Vitalstatistix bears a lot of animosity against the Roman Republic having fought in battles against them. He knows that most of them are not that bad, but it's more of the principle of hating the enemy's country rather than it's people thing. The Roman Vitalstatistix hates the most is Brutus since Brutus had Vitalstatistix's village burnt down to the ground to try and kill Julius Caesar's son. Some of them are even closer to Rivals or worthy opponents than anything.
  • Vitalstatistix obtained his shield after finding it in a tavern in Alesia, he recognised straight away as the shield Vercingetorix had thrown on Caesar's feet after the battle of Alesia. Asterix has had to warned people not to mention Alesia to him, because Vitalstatistix will yell at anyone who mentions the place of the Gauls greatest defeat. Caesar doesn't like that Vitalstatistix has Vercingetorix's shield and that Vitalstatistix humiliated Caesar by parading on the Shield right front of him. Since Caesar was planning to parade on the shield in front of the Gauls to humiliated them, some deities have thought of it as karma coming for Caesar.
  • He has summoned Asterix, Getafix, and Cacofonix to his house in Asterix's temple for a meeting of the Village Council about trying to keep the villagers fish fights under control and for them to not to drag any outside deities into the fights. He would prefer it if the villagers gave the pantheon a good impression of both the people of village and the people of all of Gaul. Getafix warned Vitalstatistix that it is too late for that, while Cacofonix pointed out to Vitalstatistix that there were already gods joining into the fish fights already. Vitalstatistix decided to brake the fight up and summoned his shield bearers to take him to it, unfortunately for Vitalstatistix Obelix had just thrown a fish at Unhygienix however the fishmonger dodged it and the fish went through Vitalstatistix's doorway and hit Vitalstatistix instead, knocking him off his chair and onto his shield that his shield bearers were holding up ready for Vitalstatistix to step onto, after the shield bearers heard Vitalstatistix land on the shield they ran towards the fight, however Vitalstatistix wasn't ready to move so he fell off his shield as well. Furious at what happened Vitalstatistix picked the fish up that had hit him of the floor were it had landed and joined in the fish fight thumping Unhygienix over the head with the fish. Meanwhile Asterix, Getafix and Cacofonix smiled at the fun that everyone was having with this fight.
  • Vitalstatistix respects the bravery of Belgium deities like Tintin, Captain Haddock and Hercule Poirot however Vitalstatistix still tries to prove that the Gauls are the bravest of all the deities to Julius Caesar. Captain Haddock argues with Vitalstatistix that the Belgium are the bravest of deities, both Vitalstatistix's friends and Captain Haddock's friends decided to stay out it, especially when they began to fight. The fight ended after a day with it giving them each a respect for other one. They decided to visit one of the Pantheon's bar to celebrate their new friendship with Vitalstatistix even offered Haddock a place at the feasts they have in the Gaulish Village to celebrate the end of an adventure.
  • Several Deities have tried to take his place as the chief of his village in order to gain access to Getafix and his magic potion. However in order to become the chief of the village of indomitable Gauls, the challengers either have to be a chief of a village or the nearest equivalent post from in France in order to challenge to a Gaulish tradition called the big fight where two leaders fight it out and the winner of the fight gains control over both villages. Those who can challenge Vitalstatistix to a fight soon realise that Vitalstatistix doesn't need the magic potion to win his fights against his opponents. Those that have lost realised that for all the misfortune that befalls him, he is also a capable fighter like his champion Asterix, even being able to pull off a Megaton Punch without a magic potion.
  • As a lover of food he can be found in the House of Food dining on the various meals there. Among his favourites are the meals prepared Remy the chef since he is an expert in French foods, calling him the best chef he knows, until his wife Impedimenta gave him a death glare and Vitalstatistix decided to swiftly change his opinion saying that Impedimenta is the best chef, and Remy is the second best chef. Vitalstatistix has also been seen in the hall of Consumption arguing with a member of his village, the fishmonger Unhygienix about his stale fish. This usually escalates into a fight that soon has other deities that like fighting joining in such as Obelix, Murray Hippo and other Blood Knights.
  • Vitalstatistix respects his fellow shield wielders in the pantheon that are good or neutral aligned. He has been seen having sparing fights with male shield wielders such as Link and Jaune Arc. Vitalstatistix like all of the male Gauls in his village follow the Gaulish code of chivalry, which has the rule that forbids men from hitting women and he still follows it in the pantheon. The rule prevents Vitalstatistix from accepting any sparing requests from Xingcai, Brigitte and Mash, however they can teach Vitalstatistix some shield combat moves as along as they use a training dummy or a male shield bearer as his opponents.
  • Vitalstatistix likes most of his fellow French deities however he hates Frollo for both giving the French people a bad name and for being a tyrant like the Romans that tried to take over Gaul and other countries. He is willing to offer people protection or sanctuary from Frollo and his men in his temple or the Village of indomitable Gauls. Frollo tried to order his soldiers to attack Vitalstatistix's temple, however Vitalstatistix had everyone from his village over at his temple so he had the druid Getafix brew a cauldron of Magic Potion and Frollo's men ended up facing a village of indomitable Gauls full of magic potion and it turned into an one sided battle.
  • The houses of Science and Magic have been on Vitalstatistix's bad side ever since they poisoned Vitalstatistix with some of Unhygienix's fish. They did this in order to get Getafix, the creator of the Magic Potion in the Pantheon since they knew that Vitalstatistix would want Getafix to cure him of the poison. Vitalstatisitix thought about getting some Magic Potion and giving them a taste of what the Romans that try to attack the village get. Getafix warned Vitalstatistix that wasn't a good idea, since some of the various members of the houses were Greater Gods and Overdeities far more powerful that Vitalstatistix with the magic potion. Although Vitalstatistix still wanted to pay them back but he understood that there are battles that the Gauls of his village can't win with brute force alone, so he sent Cacofonix to go near to the houses to practice his singing.
  • Several deities have began to wonder if he is part Saiyan because he is a warrior with a strong wife. This led to him meeting Goku and Vegeta to talk about what it is like for them having strong wives, although they all agreed that they would prefer them that way. Goku had heard that Vitalstatistix was strong challenged him to a fight with no flying and no blasts just a pure fist fight. Vitalstatistix lost the fight but he enjoyed all the same. Impedimenta, Chi-Chi and Bulma were talking about what it is like having foolish husbands.

I've got an idea that is intended to potentially help alleviate arguments between whether a character with a poor profile should be cut and their trope given to another character, or them possibly being reworked, whether under their current trope or not.

The Pantheon Cutlist

This will be a sandbox which everybody will be able to contribute to and submit deities to be put on here. Deities on this Cutlist will be organized by their House in alphabetical order, just for the sake of better organization. As stated before, anyone can submit any deity to this Cutlist in the below format to be reviewed, so long as they have a good reason for putting them in the Cutlist. I will give an example of the format I am looking for with Shinobu Sensui, who is a pretty realistic candidate for this Cutlist as he has a pretty bad profile.

House of Hatred and Rancor

  • Name of Deity: Shinobu Sensui
  • Hall: Self-Hatred
  • Current trope: Misanthrope Supreme
  • Reason for addition to Cutlist: Does not meet minimum of 10 paragraphs, and the 8 paragraphs he does have are barebones in quality.
  • Current Plans: (This will list whether somebody will be reworking this profile, planning on replacing it with another deity, or any other reasonable or ambiguous situation. This can change depending on what happens in the forums, of course. The below Notation will be based on this Status.)
  • Challenges: (This is for anyone who is against the Current Plans listed above so they can make their voice heard easily and quickly. This is also for anyone who potentially wants to save or rework the profile.)
  • Notation: Red/Yellow/Green (This indicates their eligibility to being deleted. Green means that they should not be deleted as there are plans for them, red indicates that they can be deleted as there are no plans for them, and yellow is for more ambiguous situations, where action should not be taken until the ambiguous situation is cleaned up.)

Once a deity has been submitted to this Cutlist, there can be discussions in the forums about the plans regarding the deity in the Cutlist, which is what the Current Plans will be based on. A deity can/will be removed from the Cutlist in any of these situations:

  • The Reason For Addition to Cutlist is deemed frivolous by the majority of people who see it, for any number of reasons, and so they will be taken off of it.
  • The deity has been deleted or reworked, and so there is no reason for them to stay on the Cutlist.

This is the basic idea of what I am going for, and if I get a [tup] for this, I'll create the Sandbox for this, and we can go give it a test drive and see how it feels. Of course, I'm open to any suggestions as to how I could potentially improve this system. Let me know your thoughts.

[down] Agreed.

[up]I would invert the system to green/yellow/red with red meaning ready to delete. I am abstaining on voting because I am taking a break from voting or working on major projects like new or reworked halls and houses and I am just sticking with doing a profile and voting on profiles.

[up][up][tup] for this project. And I agree with neoamon's advice.

Once I update the Bestiary to account for the new House of Gaming Characters, I'll repropose it here. Got 1 [tup] so far.

[up][up][up][tup] to this project! I do have some deities in mind to be put on the chopping block, so when could I hypothetically submit these proposals?

Excellent, I'll start work on getting the Cutlist up and running and post the link here to get the discussion started.

[up] The Cutlist will be open for anyone to edit, similar to the Hype Prevention Sandbox, once I've made it available, so whatever deities you have in mind to get on the chopping block, you'll be able to put them in, provided you follow the format roughly and have a good reason for them to be cut. You'll see the specifics once I'm done with it.

I myself have a proposal as well. its a shortining of the hype sandbox.....sort of let me explain. i call something like. I don't know. "the finality clause"?

feel free to point out any holes in my argument I don't mind.

2 Weeks (though if that's small maybe like, 4-8 weeks): this would ONLY apply to works that either are self contained with no confirmed sequel, have wrapped up their production/story,or dead/defeated/etc characters from long runners who are CONFIRMED to not be coming back. (my reasoning is, at least how I feel, 14 to 28 days are a good amount of time to check over all the content, and to let "hype" cool off and to see if said "hype" is out of love and not just because it's "popular" and new.)

2 Months: would apply to long runners, popular franchises, most movies and shows. (I have two reasonings, as thus these are more likely to be well known and popular, so it's more likely for the "hype" to be far bigger. roughly 60 days feels good enough to let hype simmer. the second reason (applying to most movies and shows) is in those 2 months, to see if there's any sequel or cancellation announcements, which could impact profiles relating to them.)

again, i'm not saying this is PERFECT, but I just wanted to let the proposal out anyway and see

How would the Cutlist be organized if there are a lot of entries?

I'm thinking to do so by series or works (folder for each), and within each folder, sorted by either alphabetical or by priority of action, like ones that have worse profiles than others (not meeting profile paragraph minimums, insubstantial paragraphs, or especially both) or perhaps other strong reasons (like the character no longer fitting the trope or a profile of a real-life person getting into a controversy). Having a better idea for the trope wouldn't count as a strong reason unless others deem it to be imo

[up][up] I agree someone having a "better" idea for a deity's trope is not a good enough reason to cut them, so I wrote that into the rules as something to avoid. I've been considering adding some kind of priority system so worse profiles/profiles with more concerning issues can have their cases reviewed sooner, though as of yet I'm unsure of how to implement that.

Next page, I will be posting the draft of the Pantheon Cutlist to the forums. It will not be accepting any Cutlist submissions yet, as my plan is to repost the draft at least 2 times to get people's feedback on the idea and what rules and changes I should make to the system I have, and then eventually post it to look for thumbs. If it gets to 3, I'll put it into effect and we can try it out.

Since working on Dragalia profiles will take a while, will just nominate some extra ideas:

Pizza and Chicory: Repression Never Ends Well note

Reason: The plot of the game rides on this aesop regarding repression of feelings, with the world's color wipe being due to the brush manifesting into a corruption that causes the color wipe, which is revealed to be not just from the brush, but from all of the repressed emotions and doubts of the brush's wielders, Chicory (with issues regarding perfectionism, lack of social interactions, and guilt) being the "last straw", but Pizza, the new wielder, also ends up fighting a corrupted mirror of themselves reflecting on their self-doubt as well. Defeating this corruption would be overcome by the protagonists having to express and reflect on their inner doubts and emotions.

Hong and BeeBee: Fear Is Normal

Reason: This is the main moral of the work, with you playing as BeeBee, a manifestation of Hong's anxiety in the form of a red wolf, trying to help their owner in their own way. While this anxiety is generally helpful, they are also displayed as overbearing, troublesome, and sometimes irrational, and while something akin to alcohol can force it off, removing that anxiety is shown as still bad, especially in a potentially life-threatening situation. All of this ties together to display that while letting anxiety and fear controlling you is bad, but so is ignoring and neglecting it, with the ideal being able to accept and "coexist" with such emotions.
