Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

I have an idea I adopted years back, a fanfic idea and something else. Which of these ideas work in your opinion?

  • Galen Erso, God of Kidnapped Scientists: adopted from Roku Alhazared. Draft here. Galen Erso is one of the key developers of the Death Star, but definitely unwilling. His False Friend Krennic forcibly recruited him by offing his wife and threatening his daughter, also pointing out if he won't do it someone else will. He gets his revenge by pretending to be a broken man so he can put in an Achilles' Heel.
  • Pong Krell, God of Mocking Their Attacker That They Don't Have The Guts: a truly odious Insane Admiral, he holds a hatred for clones and proves the Arc Villain of the popular Umbaran arc. He sees them as tools and acts the part of General Failure to kill them through Unfriendly Fire in hopes the Separatists will have him in their good graces...so he can be on what he thinks is the winning side. Eventually his clones rebel, and Rex puts his gun to him...with him confidant that he won't pull the trigger. He doesn't...but Dogma does.
  • The Tortured One, God of Dark Fics: The Bikini Bottom Horror is a horror-based fanfic of the Spongebob Squarepants series, which starts by Patrick snapping and gruesomely eating Spongebob in a similar way to how real starfish eats. The Tortured One is a Patrick clone who was captured and tortured so his regenerating flesh could be used for the Krabby Patty. He breaks out and becomes a monstrous kaiju. This fanfic sees Spongebob memes and jokes twisted on their head to add to the horror, with some Black Comedy too

  • Class Level: 1 (Could eventually become 0 if allowed to mutate enough)
  • Appearance: Gray Liquid
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Sudden Darkening of the Narrative, The Virus, Unwilling Roboticization, Robotic Undead, Spreads upon Contact, Those Turned Heal From Any Injury To The Point Of Being Indestructible, Mutating Beyond Control and out of being held into remission by immense speed, and can continue doing so
  • Domains: Diseases, Robots, Zombies
  • Unholy to: Sonic and ALL of his friends, especially Tangle and Whisper, Most Versions of Dr. Eggman (The Archie, SatAM and Sonic the Comic Incarnations are the exceptions), All Zombie Apocalypse Survivors...All of Them, The Collector, Luz Noceda and Amity Blight, Discord
  • Desired by: Ultron, Alex Mercer, Albert Wesker, Dr. Nefarious, SKYNET, The Racing Drones
  • The Metal Virus is a terrible nanomachine-based disease created by the notorious Dr. Eggman, who unleashed it upon the world following his time as the amnesiac Mr. Tinker. It consists of self-replicating Nanomachines that transform infected, once they’re completely consumed by it, into zombie-like robots dead set on spreading it to everything and everyone around it, or in the case of inanimate Flora and other nature infected, into simply more carriers of the Nanomachines. It managed to infect and turn nearly everyone and everything, Flora and Fauna alike, and things only escalated when the Deadly Six entered the picture. It took Super Sonic using the Seven Chaos Emeralds to purge the infection from both himself before he turned and everyone else, with Super Silver using his telekinesis and the Warp Topaz that previously belonged to Dr. Starline to send the Metal Virus into the sun afterwards in order to put an end to the madness.
  • The first sighting of the Metal Virus in the Pantheon happened to be due to metallic grass that seemed to be spreading across the Pantheon, turning other Flora and even Fauna into robots, with the latter spreading it onto whoever they could find. Unbeknownst to everyone, the culprit behind this was Ultron, who hacked one of Eggman’s systems briefly and decided to remake the Virus once he learned of what occurred when it was unleashed. Sonic and his friends were all horrified at the reemergence of the Virus once they were notified by Luz Noceda and Amity Blight, as all of them remember the sheer horror of the weapon and roboticization. They struggled to keep it from spreading, but thanks to the arrival of The Collector and Discord, the Metal Virus was warped back into the sun, also transforming the fully converted Flora and Fauna, back to normal. Unfortunately, this didn’t get all of it, as more vats were later found in multiple factories across the Pantheon. To keep the Zombot Apocalypse that Sonic had to deal with from occurring again, they were quickly moved into Maximum Security. Ultron fully intends to take the Metal Virus back.
  • The Metal Virus spreads fast. It is a gray liquid substance made of self-replicating nanomachines that quickly infects and turns a victim into a Zombot within a few minutes to a couple of hours, though more exposure to the Metal Virus could cause the transformation to occur much faster. It rapidly spreads and turns everything it touches into metal. Simply touching infected Flora or Fauna means you’ll transform eventually, and the one counter that stalls the transformation from completing for as long as people, Super-Speed, doesn’t work anymore. The converted, who are known as Zombots, are zombie-like robots that are nigh-unstoppable. They’re unintelligent, but regenerate from any wound and never run out of power or stamina. However, it noticeably cannot affect processed material or metal, and robots are outright immune to the infection due to being inorganic.
  • The Metal Virus is something that Dr. Eggman hoped would never come back to haunt him, both because it almost turned him too if Sonic hadn’t gotten his hands on the final Chaos Emerald during his fight with Zavok, and also because it reminds him of a certain platypus. He’s content to watch the Metal Virus spread if it gets out, with plans on evacuating to another planet like originally planned if needed, which is a sentiment all of his incarnations share, though the Archie, SatAM and Sonic the Comic versions want to use it against Sonic despite what happened the last time the Metal Virus was unleashed in order to deal with the Blur Blur.
  • The Zombot Plague was originally going to go up against the Freedom Fighters, but ended up facing off against the Restoration instead. Apparently, Bunnie Rabbot’s cybernetics would cause her to keep her individuality even as a Zombot according to certain sources, and some magic can turn the infected back to normal as well, since Naugus would have been able to reverse the transformation. Still, the Metal Virus gives all of them, especially Sally and Bunnie, really bad memories of roboticization, and they’re willing to help out wherever they can.
  • Ultron isn’t the only one interested in the Metal Virus. Dr. Nefarious wants to turn everyone into robots, and he believes if he gains control over it, victory for him will be inevitable. Alex Mercer wants to assimilate it into himself, and both outcomes would be bad. Nobody wants Alex to be able to make Zombots on touch, or worse, more of himself, and a Zombot Mercer would be a physical, nightmarish powerhouse. Lastly, Albert Wesker is one of the men responsible for a Zombie Apocalypse and wants to study it further. The Racing Drones plan on using it as a bioweapon, and SKYNET is genuinely impressed with what the Metal Virus is and wants to make a version that converts people into loyal Terminators.
  • It’s safe to say that if you were forced to live in a Zombie Outbreak, you will despise this weapon. What puts it above most zombies is that they can’t be destroyed, though Blaze the Cat believes a hot-enough fire should do it. Even without that, since they’re robots, most weapons sans bombs or more esoteric means won’t do anything anyway]] and even then, the Metal Virus will eventually adapt to them. This applies to both commanding the Zombots, as Dr. Eggman lost control of them and had to search for a new frequency to do so, but was foiled by Sonic, and thanks to its constant mutation, curing the Metal Virus. So far, four cures for the weapon have been made in the Pantheon, and they’ve all stopped working.
  • Armor is good protection against the Zombots, but that also runs the risk of the Virus getting through any cracks or holes in the defenses. Due to similarities to the Clockwork Virus, the SCP Foundation is leading the charge in keeping it contained in Maximum Security. The Metal Virus, and the weapon’s apocalyptic capabilities and anomalous nature, have finally caused them to view Ivo Robotnik as an enemy rather than simply leaving him to Sonic. He isn’t too worried.

[up] Doctor Doom once unleashed a robot zombie virus on Asgard and another one happened in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, so all the Norse Gods should have reason to fear this. The X-Men should hate this too, one of their main alien enemies is The Phalanx, which is like the Borg, speaking of. And there’s also Cable and his techno-organic virus.

Fortunately for Cable, the X-Factor's sentient Celestial Ship merged with Nathan's electrical parts and created an electromagnetic shield that keeps him alive. He would have a major problem with the The Metal Virus.

I have had an idea to suggest Sonic the Comic Amy Rose as god of Adaptational Weapon Swap. However I would like other people opinions on whether she fits since she is the first Amy to use a weapon before any other Amy did. With Sonic The Comic Amy using a crossbow or a bow and still using it even after Amy's hammer was introduced in other Sonic media. This isn't a nomination.

Any other interactions I should consider?

Izanagi, God of Blaming the Child For Childbed Death(Izanaki, Izanagi-no-Mikoto, The father of Japan, Izanagi-No-Okami, Akemi Nakajima)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izanagi.jpg
As a Persona

  • Greater God, Demigod as Akemi Nakajima
  • Symbol: The divine spear Ame-no-Sakahoko and divine sword Totsuka-no-Tsurugi
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral bordering on Neutral Good. Akemi Nakajima went from Neutral Evil to True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Created the Japanese Islands with Izanami, Izanami was wife and sister, blamed Hi-no-Kagitsuchi for Izanami's death, gave birth to Amaterasu, Susano'o and Tsukyomi by himself, let Amaterasu become head of the gods

  • Domains: Life, creation, fatherhood, computers

  • Allies: The Investigation Team, especially Yu Narukami, Izanami(his ex-wife and sister), Amaterasu, Susano'o (his children) , Flynn, Cerberus, Ra

  • Enemies: Lucifer, YHVH, Amatsu-Mikaboshi, Loki, Set

  • The last generation of the Kamiyonanayo, Izanagi and Izanami were instructed by the other gods to go down to the Earth from its chaotic state into something more livable. To do this, they used the Ame-no-Nubuko/Ame-no-Sakahoko to create the first bit of earth, and then they proceated to create the Japanese islands as well as numerous deities to inhabit them. However, the good times were not meant to last: Izanami died when giving birth to the fire god Hi-no-Kagitsuchi. In grief and rage, Izanagi blamed the child and slew him with the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi.
    • In order to attempt to get his wife back, Izanagi descended to Yomi, the land of the dead. Somehow he managed to find her in the pitch-black darkness, although he could obviously not see her. However, because she had eaten food cooked in the underworld, she could not return. Accounts differ on what happened next, but what is consistent is that he managed to light a fire and saw that Izanami was now a rotten corpse. Now filled with fear and disgust, Izanagi turned tail and began to escape back to the surface. To get back at him Izanami sent gods of thunder and legions of warriors, but Izanagi evaded them all and managed to escape and seal Yomi with a large boulder. Now fully a Woman Scorned, Izanami pronounced a curse that she would kill one thousand people every day, to which Izanagi replied that he would have one thousand five hundred people born each day to stop here.
    • After coming back from Yomi, Izanagi sought to cleanse himself in a river in Ahakihara. From this purification ceremony many gods were born, and from the last step the "Three precious children" came about: Amaterasu from his left eye, Tsukyomi froim his right eye, and Sasano'o from his nose. He then proceeded to give each of these children a domain" to Amaterasu the heavenly abode of the gods; to Tsukyomi the night; and to Susano'o the sea. However, due to him either being too destructive, not keeping up wiht his duties, or cying too much Izanagi would expell Susano'o to the earth.
    • In the 1980's Izanagi would be reincarnated as Akemi Nakajima, a high school student highly gifted in science in technology but prone to sociopathic behavior. In order to get back at some bullies, he combined magic and coding to create the first demon summoning program. With this program he summoned Loki, but he quickly released the error of his ways and vowed to stop the demon invasion he started. Whether in the original tale or the first Megaten game, he would ally and fall in love with Yumiko Shirasagi. Whether he was defeated by Lucifer's machinations (as in the books) or succceded in defending the human world (as in the games), the impact of creating the Demon summoning program would reverberate throughout the multiverse.

  • As Amatsu-Mikaboshi went on a rampage in his quest to destroy it all, it seemed like there was nothing that could be done. However, when someone suggestion brining a creator god to oppose the destruction deity, Flynn remembered what he had heard from Stephen and Kazuya about the original creator of the Demon Summoning Program, and used his COMP to summon the creator. Luckily, Izanagi was drawn by Flynn's connections to the deities of Japan and responded, driving back Amatsu-Mikaboshi with a barrage of light.
    • Now that he was in the Pantheon, Izanagi found it to be a relatively pleasant place and decided to stay to spend his "retirement" as well as watch over his family. However, when it came time to make an appeal to the court of the gods, it was found that only one relevant Trope was avalible: his blaming of Kagitsuchi for Izanami's death. He's not exactly proud of the moment, but he accepted the title.

  • While the story of the conflict between Izanagi and Izanami is legendary, what is less well-known is that after what happened in the Megami Tensei universe the two have been trying to patch up their relationship and get back together (it helps that neither of them remarried). The eons of time they have spent apart sometimes makes communication difficult, but they're willing to work through it. In fact, as a token of reconciliation Izanagi has even promised to be nice to any children Izanami may have had with other lovers, such as Erice Utsumi. How Izanagi manages to keep a straight face while close to Izanami's true form is anyone's guess.

Izanagi: I've begotten myriad children by myself, so who am I to complain?

    • While Izanagi technically created the three "miraculous children" by himself, they are technically counted as Izanami's children as well as they came about due to her influence. The two are happy that their parents have reconciled, but have different impression of their father.
      • Amaterasu is without a doubt Izanagi's favorite child, being granted the domain of the Heavenly Realm as well as dominion over the heavenly gods. Izanagi is glad that her daughter has grown into a brave, wise, and assertive leader, a far cry from the maiden who retreated into a cave. He was especially impressed by the time when she was able to come back from the grave, defended the land from evil forces, and restored faith in the gods all while recovering her divine powers. Sometimes he will even take care of Chibaterasu when his mother is out for important business. It's suspected that as Amaterasu's father and a god with the epithet "Okami" he also has a wolf form, but no one has ever seen it.
      • Despite having similarly impulsive and temperamental personalities, Izanagi and Susano'o do not get along in the slightest. After all, Izanagi was the one who expelled Susano'o form heaven in the first place, no matter what the actual reason was. Nowadays, the two still cannot stand to be in the same room as each other. Outside observers theorize that might be due to their similar personalities pushing on each other, as well as Susano'o always identifying more with his mother than his father. Despite this, Izanagi is at least a little pleased about how his was able to carve his own place among the earthly gods (even though he thinks that the concern over Yamata-no-Orochi is a bit much), even if he won't say it out loud. he's also proud of when the Nahobino beat Matter Lucifer, continuing the family tradition and fulfilling the purpose of the Proto-Fiends.

  • Due to Akemi Nakajima's role in creating the Demon Summoning Program as well as being the first Megaten protagonist, Izanagi's influence stretches far and wide even if he doesn't actually show up very often. He despises both the forces of Law and Chaos for constantly messing with humans and especially Japan through their schemes. In the Pantheon, he has taken it upon himself to help humans by being the Pantheon maintainer of the Demon Summoning Program, a mix of magic and technology that streamlines and facilitates the process of calling and making contracts with demons. This is useful as the code is full of otherwise indecipherable black boxes and its other creator Stephen is not currently in the Pantheon. Izanagi has no reservations about giving the program to humans, but he always tries to make sure that the new user is prepared for the risks involved with summoning demons and knows what they're getting into. He is pleased that the most powerful demon summoners generally use their newfound abilities with courage and conviction.

Izanagi: Ego, power, revenge: do not use demon summoning for these things. Trust me, I know.

    • Due to the shared functionality of summoning a wide range of mythical figures, the Demon Summoning Program is often compared to summoning servants in Holy Grail Wars, especially more technological FATE system used by Chaldea. Beside being a misuse of the Counter Force's protection system, Izanagi considers servant summoning to be like a "kids version" where command seals provide safety but the servant containers restrict power; summoned demons are restricted by no safeguards but also have no limits on their power as long as enough magnetite/magatsuhi is provided. The existence of servants like Nursery Rhyme reminds some people of a time when it was unknown if the Demon Summoning Program actually brought demons from somewhere or created them out of whole cloth(the answer is a little bit of both). Don't ask Izanagi how demon fusion works; even he doesn't know what the Cathedral of Shadows or Gendotei actually do.

      • Tamano-no-Mae is a fox spirit who is also a brunei (avatar/spiritual offshoot) of the Nasuverse's Amaterasu, who is a more inhuman and evil goddess than usually imagined, so much so that she is a Beast Candidate. Izanagi is curious about her situation, but knows that Tamamo wants nothing to do with her past self, so he leaves her alone.

  • One day, people all around the Pantheon started asking Izanagi about the "Izanagi system", which greatly confused him. That was until he learned that these references had to do with a world full of magical technology and robotic units names after the Japanese Gods. He thinks that Hakuman, Jin, and Ragna are pretty respectable heroes, but is not very fazed by Terumi and regards him as a flimsy copy of his son. Even at the height of Terumi's power, Izanagi believes that the "true" Japanese gods are more than a match.

Izanagi: If he feeds on hate and fear, why not just throw him in a cell and forget about him?

  • Because his incarnation was the first Megami Tensei protagonist, Izanagi serves as a respected predecessor to all who followed. Therefore, he is on good terms with these protagonists, especially those he has met personally such as the Demi-Fiend or those who worked to defend Tokyo or Japan like Flynn. He's personally partial to Neutral, but respects the alignment choices of others as long as they had good reasons. What he doesn't like is how Law and Chaos seem to enforce a Sadistic Choice or lock in loyalty for innocuous decisions.
    • In the modern age, Izanagi's most popular showing is probably as Yu Narukami's starting and ultimate personas. No one knows such an old and dignified god was dressed like a high-school delinquent, but given how other Personas look one could argue that it's no too out of place. Izanagi greatly admires Yu's leadership abilities, and likes the Investigation Team overall for their commitment to uncovering and helping people deal with the truth. On the other hand, he doesn't like Tohru Adachi nearly as much, with his murderous and self-centered actions reminding Izanagi of Akemi Nakajima's worst crimes.

    • While Izanagi is not a fan of either the forces of Law or Chaos, he is especially antagonistic towards Lucifer due to their shared history. On the other hand, Lucifer actually respects Nakajima and therefore Izanagi for bringing regular humans the power to stand up to demons and angels and is actually quite friendly in their meetings. Not that it stops Izanagi from being hostile.
Lucifer: Why hello there Izanagi, nice weather we have today.
Izanagi: Lucifer! Get off my lawn you fiend, or I will call the police on you.
    • Of course, the first demon Akemi summoned was Loki, who proceeded to...do some very age-inappropriate things. Izanagi hasn't forgotten about these things, but after being told about the multiversal nature of the Pantheon as well as Loki's penchant for incarnating into different people, he's agreed to hold off on any revenge plans...for now. That being said, he is very perplexed by the trickster god's seeming Heel–Face Turn and doesn't think it will stick. On the matter of Atreus, the second "Loki" who is Kratos's son, Izanagi is not actually very worried as he sees Kratos as an ultimately good parent who put his son on the right track.
    • During his story, Akemi Nakajima also did battle with Set. Izanagi does feel a little bad about about how he was demonized over time, but still doesn't make up for the evil things he does. However, because Ra regards Set as a god very important to the Egyptian cosmic balance, Izanagi has decided to not interact with him for the time being.

  • Although he's technically not technically the head of his Pantheon, Izanagi is still a highly respected god and therefore makes an effort to create and extend relations with other mythological pantheons.
    • As a creator god who eventually resigned his position to his children, Ra and Izanagi can be considered counterparts. However, while Izanagi willingly gave up his position Ra was forced to give the position of King of the Earth to Horus. Additionally, Izanagi no longer has an eternal enemy like Apophis for Ra.
    • Zeus? Odin?

  • As the Amatsukami are Amatsu-Mikaboshi's original enemies, Izanagi keeps close watch on the destroyer god to make sure that his plans do not come into fruition. Due to his conflict with Amatsu-Mikaboshi and his status as a creator god, it is natural that Izanagi would not be a fan of the GUAD. To that end, Izanagi tries his best to make sure that anyone associated with the alliance does not have access to the Demon Summoning program, although he can't fully stop access.

If anyone doesn't mind, I'd like to make a proposal suggestion for the Trope Pantheon, and my two candidates share the same trope if that's allowed.

Buraki and The Good Imoogi — Co-Deities of The Great Serpent

Both characters are gigantic snake dragons whose kind can reach kilometers in length. The Imoogis rise to the surface every 500 years to become a Celestial Dragon by doing good deeds, but Buraki, being the power-hungry monster he is, seeks to usurp his benevolent counterparts for himself. An iconic shot of him encircling the Los Angeles Bank Building also serves as the trope's page image.

Granted, this is a lousy proposal, but I'm interested in ascending both of them to the Trope Pantheon, and I'd like some help to justify it by getting feedback.

[up][up][up]Thanks! I'll be glad to make a working template for Buraki and the Good Imoogi, but I should watch the movie first because I haven't seen it for years.

Honestly I think the Snakes Are Sinister trope is good enough for Apep because he's not just a Complete Monster snake diety, he perfectly captures that trope for being the most reviled god in Egypt, and his villainy stands out when the other snake gods are benevolent. Because of how old Egyptian Mythology is, Apophis is likely the first ever example of that trope and Complete Monster.

The only changes I want to make for Apep are his relationships with other deities, like fellow mythological snake god Quetzalcoatl (as an enemy) and fellow evil chaos god Nyarlathotep (either as an ally, a rival, or even switching between both).

Apep and Quetzalcoatl: Obviously both are enemies because Quetzalcoatl is a (mostly) benevolent Feathered Serpent god who created mankind, and Apep is an evil snake who wants to kill all life in the universe, which displeases Quetzalcoatl because snakes already have a bad reputation. Also, Quetzalcoatl reminded Apep of Wadjet (another benevolent feathered serpent deity), causing the evil Egyptian snake god to feel disdain for the kindly Aztec snake god. This causes Quetzalcoatl to ally with Amaterasu and the rest of the Egyptian Pantheon against Apophis.

Apep and Nyarlathotep: Now this is where things get interesting. Both gods are immortal, PURE EVIL chaos gods associated with Ancient Egypt and darkness, and they both lead armies of monsters and cultists for their sinister causes (Apophis has his cultists and army of Egyptian demons that terrorize both the living and the dead, including demons with weapons for heads; Nyarlathotep has not just human cultists, but also Mi-Go cultists, along with leading terrible beasts such as the Shantak Birds and the Hunting Horrors, which Apep might find the latter flattering due to being similarly serpentine and sinister monsters). They're also hated and opposed by the entire Egyptian Pantheon for good reasons. However, their ambitions couldn't get any more different. While Apophis wants to annihilate all life and light in the universe, Nyarlathotep wants to drive mortals to madness out of sadism. This would cause conflict to both gods because Apophis achieving his omnicidal goals would deny Nyarlathotep any mortals to toy with, and Apophis is disappointed by Nyarlathotep because The World Encircler thinks The Crawling Chaos could've used his powers to wipe out all life in the universe, and The Crawling Chaos thinks The World Encricler destroying all life in the universe denies the opportunity to inflict more suffering. which is why I can see how both deities could be rivals or even enemies, though an alliance or even some twisted Villainous Friendship (or at least Villainous Respect) wouldn't be out of the picture. If they want to work together, I could see Apophis being a hired arm for Nyarlathotep in case anyone tries to physically fight him, and Apep could use some help from Nyarly manipulating his enemies.

Either way, the lack of interaction between both of these gods disappointed me because there was a rich opportunity for them to interact with each other due to their striking similarities and differences. They could be rivals, they could be chaos buddies, maybe even both.

Nyarlathotep.

Nyarlathotep for Fighting a Shadow

Reasoning: Nyarlathotep’s true form is never shown or described. We don’t know if he HAS a true form. He is the soul of the Outer Gods, and has thousands of avatars and forms, and can craft more and more. Needs reworked for short texts and there not being many interactions outside of enemies and interests. Also, no ascension text.
