Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Right now I'm not confident on what alignment and rank I should give Maya and Zatz respectively. Does anyone have advice? I would appreciate that

[up]I think they be Intermediate since they are Gods/Demi-Gods but not Top God Level. Maya might Neutral or Chaotic good. Zatz could be Neutral Good.

@Lawliet — Maybe something with Tommy Angelo, who was a member of a mafia gang until he was betrayed and was forced to rat them out to the police. Bonus points for Tommy also being a driver as part of his job.

Oswald Cobblepot is the top mafia don of Gotham City and a notable member of Batman's Rogues Gallery. He can be ruthless and domineering, but he's also one of the more sane and rational foes the Dark Knight has to deal with (usually, depending on the iteration) and he mainly aims to keep the mafia scene in Gotham running and in good condition. He does have a sense of pride and honour, however dark they may be.

@SailorVenus — As Bowser is a tyrant, I can see him being enemies with Darkseid as while both share similar occupations, Darkseid is basically all of Bowser's vices amplified with an added streak of monstrous depravity while possessing none of his positive attributes, making him an eviler counterpart to the Koopa King, which is especially apparent as both tried to take over the cosmos, with Darkseid resorting to even more messed up means to achieve them and Bowser would be horrified at the extent of the New God's ambition as well as disgust for how he treats Kalibak and Orion.

Maybe something with Malekith as both are tyrannical overlords with a strong familial relationship with someone, in Malekith's case being his mother [[Characterized Appearances Morathi. Unlike Bowser and his son, whose love and affection for each other is wholesome and without issue, most of the time, Malekith and Morathi have a very twisted relationship with each other which includes emotional manipulation and abuse in the latter's part and Malekith wanting to kill his mother for being responsible for his wife's death.

Bowser and Malekith might also differ in how they lead their armies. While there is genuine respect in both, Malekith's is very Darwinistic and draconian, anyone who falls out of line or fails an objective is expected to be tortured, put in fates worse than death, and made an example, though Malekith also rewards and gives high position to those who are competent and earn his respect.

Early draft for a simple character for once, here's Scar the Edmontosaurus; posting for feedback...

Prototype Mode

Scar, God of Herd-Travelling Ornithopods

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maxresdefault_5_04.jpg
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: an Edmontosaurus skull
  • Theme Song:
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Herd-Travelling Edmontosaurus, Intimidating Name for a Docile Herbivore, Good Scars, Evil Scars, Named After the Injury, Trekking Through the Cold Winter of Alaska, Accurately Portrayed for its Time, Herbivores Are Friendly
  • Domains: Dinosaurs, Herds, Socialization, Migration, Winter, Survival, Companionship
  • Allies: The Gang of Seven
  • Opposes:
  • The world of dinosaurs was a tough and perilous one, despite the majestic and awe-inspiring scope and the fields of Alaska during the Late Cretaceous were no different, for they depleted vegetation drastically and were unforgivingly cold, snowy, and windy during winter times, especially for dinosaurs who migrated to find new homes, nesting grounds, and food for themselves. Such was the case of Scar, a young ‘’Edmontosaurus’’ who was forced to partake in a long migration to the warmer regions of Alberta with his herd after the winter deprived them of their needs. As Scar was dependent on his herd’s safety and support and was a juvenile, he was unprepared for the many terrors and dangers he would stumble across and would nearly lose his life on multiple occasions, especially as he ended up separated from his herd for a majority of the trip. But through some unexpected aid and a stroke of luck, Scar would eventually make it to Alberta and reunite with his herd, proving himself successful in his journey and becoming more mature because of it.
  • It was a normal day in what was the wilderness of Late Cretaceous Alberta, during which Scar was peacefully eating leaves with the rest of the ‘’Edmontosaurus herd and alongside them were an accompanying group of ‘’Pachyrhinosaurus’’ who also managed to coexist with the larger hadrosaurs out of defense and dependency. As summer was on the horizon, the two dinosaur species were preparing for their second annual migration north to Alaska. Only this time, their trip would take an unexpected turn when the combined herd were suddenly fought in the way of a wormhole. Although they tried to outrun it, the wormhole was quicker and caught up with the dinosaurs. To them, what happened was most unexpected, for they somehow ended up in a lush green field and making eye contact towards animals they had never seen from their time, particularly gazelles. Scar and the herd realized that they were in uncharted lands and although they were uncertain of their circumstances, still carried on with their migration. Unbeknownst to him and the dinosaurs, they were in a land of deities and the ‘’Edmontosaurus himself was unaware that he was now a deified representative of his kind. Now what happens to Scar in the Pantheon is up to his experiences and newfound trials.

[up] I'm sorry RJ, but can you please take a moment to refrain from posting new profiles on a new page next time? You already posted two profiles on the previous page and it honestly feels disingenuous that you decided to post your drafts right after mine, making my draft of Scar to be easily ignored given the niche subject I'm covering as well as the fact that you're still working on Queen Dagmar and Elfo as of writing this. It honestly makes you come off as not bothering to check whether other users also want their time to have their content checked and evaluated upon.

This isn't even the first time I've criticized you for doing something like this, based on an earlier post I made a couple of days ago. And I doubt I'm the only one who's undergoing the same issue and it doesn't help that most users don't post drafts as much as you do.

Now, I don't want to come off as being mean or angry, but I do want my criticism towards you to be addressed regardless. I just want you to know that everyone else also needs their time to have their stuff acknowledged and you're posting too much in a very small timeframe, which comes off as attention-hogging. Just, try to be careful next time, please?

@Crimson: I'm sure Scar would get along with herbivorous dinosaurs like Bix and the Brontosaurus, while being scared of theropods and theropod-like creatures like the Anjanath, Owen's raptors, Rexy, Gwangi, and the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor. He would probably be confused by Neweyes' dinosaurs (especially Dweeb, the hadrosaur of the group); after all, they have ascended in terms of intelligence thanks to that Brain Grain (though that's not saying much, all things considered), compared to Scar, who is pretty much still an animal.

Freudian Excuse: Not one person is entirely good or evil; something will have to have happened in the past to make them what they are today.

I haven’t been around here in a while, but I decided to poke my head in, and see what I can do.

First of all, I am once again asking for feedback on my profile for Admiral Marcus. Probably needs at least a few more interactions before approval.

Fleet Admiral Alexander Marcus The God Of Being Evil All Along

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marcus_alexander_9842.jpg

  • New House: Character Reveals
  • [tup]s: None yet
  • Lesser God (Greater God when flying the USS Vengeance)
  • Symbol: The Section 31 Symbol
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Portfolio: Evil All Along, Insane Admiral, Utopia Justifies the Means, War Hawk, Walking Spoiler, Fallen Hero
  • Domains: Warmongering, Phasers, Spacecraft, Leadership
  • Heralds: The Rest of Section 31
  • Allies: Shockwave, Colonel Miles Quaritch
  • Enemies:
  • Dislikes: Team Voltron
  • Opposes: Thanos, The Dark Matter Horde
  • Superior: YHVH
  • Interested In: The Event Horizon
  • Fleet Admiral Alexander Marcus was considered a hero in the United Federation Of Planets for his distinguished career in Starfleet. That is, until it came to light that he founded the shadowy Section 31 and used it to build a fleet of Dreadnaught Starships that he intended to use to prematurely start a war with the Klingon Empire. To help him design the Dreadnaughts, he released an infamous war criminal with enhanced strength and intelligence named Khan Noonien Singh from cryogenic imprisonment. Khan eventually betrayed Marcus and unsuccessfully attempted to kill him and fled to the planet Kronos (the Klingon Homeworld) to escape. After a long and complex series of events, Admiral Marcus found his Unwitting Pawn Captain Kirk questioning him about Khan’s claims that he was a warmonger. Forced to change his plans, Admiral Marcus admitted that Khan’s story was true and opened fire on Captain Kirk’s Ship and would have most likely destroyed it if the Vengeance hadn’t been tampered with by an Engineering Officer who had stowed away onboard. Marcus met his end when Captain Kirk and Khan teamed up to board his ship, defeating his crew and eventually making their way to the bridge. Admiral Marcus attempted to escape, but was killed by Khan, who crushed his skull using his enhanced strength.
    • Eventually, Marcus ascended into the Pantheon with the rest of Section 31 as his heralds. His ascension was a fairly quiet one, with only a few people noticing other than the Court of the Gods and those who did notice not knowing his significance. His temple is an exact replica of the Section 31 headquarters/shipyard that orbited Io, with a few added rooms to qualify as an official temple. It is currently in orbit around a small planetoid that can be seen far above the House Of Character Reveals. Section 31 has been using the base to construct a new fleet of Dreadnaught Starships. So far, Section 31 has only managed to complete one, which is known as the USS Vengeance B. Section 31 plans to outfit the ship with new technologies from around the Pantheon, but so far, these are just plans, as the USS Vengeance B is very powerful in of itself.
    • Admiral Marcus’ ascension was only made public knowledge when Samus Aran (another member of the House of Character Reveals) noticed odd energy emissions coming from the usually lifeless planetoid. Flying her space gunship to investigate, she saw the Section 31 base, but before she could get a closer look, the base’s defense systems opened fire on her, forcing her to make an emergency landing back at her temple. After describing what she saw to some of the other space traveler gods, it was confirmed that it was in fact the Section 31 base and that Admiral Marcus had almost certainly ascended.
  • Admiral Marcus was furious when he found out that both Captain Kirk and Khan Noonien Singh were in the Pantheon. He was even angrier at the fact that Kirk being in the Pantheon effectively reduced his chances of assuming command of the other Starfleet gods to nothing. In reality, his chances were already extremely low given he represents the trope Evil All Along.
  • Some gods have pointed out that he was not entirely wrong to create more military weapons for Starfleet, given that not long after his death, the Federation was attacked by a warlord named Krall who was only stopped after the Federation had suffered massive casualties. Admiral Marcus thinks that his Dreadnaught Starships could have stopped Krall before he could have caused as much damage as he did, and has been making defense plans for the scenario of Krall ascending to the Pantheon.
  • Nero considers Admiral Marcus an enemy, due to him using the wreckage of Nero’s 24th century ship to build the Dreadnaught Starships. Marcus denies doing that, but the evidence indicates that he did. Granted, it does not make much of a difference, as Nero would have disliked him anyways, due to being the leader of Starfleet. The dislike is definitely mutual though, as Nero attacking the Federation is what inspired Marcus to decide to take up a first strike mindset in the first place.
  • While Marcus is willing to take extreme actions, he hates Thanos just as much as everyone else does. Killing half of all life in the Universe is a line Marcus would never cross, regardless of how underhanded he is. He does admit that Thanos’ military is far to powerful for Section 31 to fight, even if they had five Dreadnaught Starships.
  • To accelerate his goal of a orderly society with complete safety and security, Admiral Marcus (with the rest of Section 31) joined the Grand United Alliance of Law. Naturally, YHVH was more than happy to accept a powerful new member with a skill set that was relatively uncommon in the GUAL.
  • He completely despises Starfleet Lieutenant Worf, as he is a Klingon Starfleet officer. His very existence proves that Marcus’ philosophy that war against the Klingons is inevitable is wrong. He still refuses to rethink his position however, and instead of considering that he could have been wrong, Marcus has been attempting to destroy Worf’s reputation by using Section 31 to spread false information about him being a violent and stupid brute to the rest of the Pantheon. Worf does not care very much about his reputation among them however, and most of the Gods and Goddesses are smart enough to know that Marcus’ propaganda is not true.
  • The draconic alien beast known as King Ghidora has given Admiral Marcus quite a few headaches. King Ghidora has a habit of making dive-bombing runs on the Section 31 Facility when he has nothing better to do, and while the facility has adequate defenses to drive him off, a great deal of damage has still been done in some attacks. Tired off this, the Admiral asked the professional space-abomination fighters known as Team Voltron to permanently kill the beast. The team refused this offer, even after Admiral Marcus offered to share Section 31’s latest technologies with them. While the team agrees that Ghidora is a massive problem, they would rather not work for the morally dubious Admiral. While Admiral Marcus was not happy about the refusal, he took it surprisingly well, and let the team go without any incident. That does not mean he likes them though.
  • Admiral Marcus has set up an alliance with the Decepticon known as Shockwave, the leader of another morally dubious secret weapons development division. Shockwave is the leader of the Decepticon counterpart to Section 31 known as the Cybertron Guard. The two organizations teaming up has made the other Decepticon leadership somewhat uneasy, as Shockwave has proven that he is not especially loyal to the Decepticon cause, and the exact nature of the Admiral and Shockwave’s plans are not clear at the moment. What is known is that there have been sightings of Decepticon Air/Space forces armed with advanced Photon Torpedoes being tested near Shockwave’s Temple.
  • One time, The Master Control Program attempted to hack into the Section 31 computers. While it did not do any significant damage to the organization, Admiral Marcus still filed a formal complaint to the Court Of The Gods about it. The MCP responded by sending a swarm of programs to blockade the area around the Section 31 Facility. The programs were destroyed by Marcus using the U.S.S. Vengeance B before they even reached their destination in a battle that was visible from the night sky throughout the Pantheon. However, the Vengeance took some significant damage during the battle, and needed to be repaired extensively afterwards, delaying the construction of the other Dreadnaught Starships.
  • One of the good things that Admiral Marcus has done since his ascension is developing new technology to fight the Dark Matter Horde. He suspects The Horde may have destroyed its home dimension’s version of Humanity. One particular piece of technology he has invented are anti-possession devices, which prevent their users from being possessed by Dark Matter.
  • In exchange for several of the previously mentioned anti-possession devices, King Dedede has reluctantly agreed to assist Admiral Marcus with his goals. King Dedede is a very frequent victim of being possessed by Dark Matter, and considers it incredibly tiresome, hence why he wanted the devices. However, King Dedede is annoyed with some of Marcus’ more morally dubious actions, and has let him know that he is helping him on the condition that Section 31 stays away from his home planet, or any Pantheonic deities from there.
  • Admiral Marcus has also allied himself with a like minded military officer named Colonel Miles Quaritch. They both have first strike mindsets towards alien civilizations, meaning an alliance between them was an obvious choice. The two once tried bringing small asteroids onboard the U.S.S. Vengeance B from the House Of Space and Cosmos to mine them for Unobtanium using Quaritch’s mining tech. Or at least the two military officers thought that they were asteroids. They were actually two Pokémon known as Lunatone and Solrock. The Pokémon did not react well to being drilled into, and went on a rampage through the ship after destroying Quaritch’s mining technology.
  • Admiral Marcus has taken an interest in the abandoned starship Event Horizon which floats derelict in the Hall of Otherness Abominations. He has heard the stories of what happened to previous boarding parties though, and has limited Section 31’s studies of the ship to exterior study. His end goal is to figure out how to weaponize the ship’s ability to fold space, and trap enemy starships in the hellish plane of existence the Event Horizon passed through. This plan has managed to disturb a few of Marcus’s allies.
  • After learning about Lieutenant Commander Data, an android in Starfleet in the future of a timeline adjacent to his, Admiral Marcus decided that Section 31 could use android workers. So far, Section 31’s attempts to construct an android capable of higher thought have failed. Admiral Marcus attempted to enlist the help of Pantheon robotics expert Wat Tambor. When Marcus visited the Skakoan engineer, he was told to get out of his temple in no uncertain terms. Tambor had no intention of giving away his valuable Techno Union trade secrets to outsiders, and certainly not Marcus. The two have had some enmity since then, and actively avoid each other when possible.

Second of all, I have a proposal for your consideration:

Scourge: God of Stealing Insignias As Trophies

Reasoning: This trope is practically made for Scourge. In Rise of the Beasts, he takes an insignia plate from every one of his kills, and grafts it onto himself. By the time of the movie, he has been doing this for a long time. One fan analysis determined that he has over 60 separate insignias grafted onto himself from his victims. He seems to particularly relish in taking the insignias into his collection, as if he were some sort of morbid collector.

@Crimson: Scar would be wary of the likes of One-Eye, the sadistic T-Rex and would probably seek some protection by association with the King Kong who as of the Monsterverse version regularly protects weaker animals from vicious predators like the Skullcrawlers and before fought a lot against predatory dinosaurs and other beasts.

Here's some more Kid Cosmic and the Local Heroes. Any feedback would help but I'm almost finished with tem', I do look for deities who've been on cosmic trips to find artifacts and the like.

  • Friendly Enemies: Lord Hater and Peepers, Mojo Jojo
  • Respect: Galactus
  • Kid Cosmic and the Local Heroes were once just normal citizens of a desert-bound lone town, living mundane boring lives. However, the Kid one day found five Stones of Power that fell from outer space and granted their users superpowers; joined by his friends, Jo and Rosa; his cat, Tuna Sandwich; and his grandfather, Papa G, Kid set out to use the Stones to protect Earth from alien threats as the team's self-proclaimed leader; however he grew to realize what was really important about being a hero despite his early obsession and had to give up his leadership dreams to Jo who was far more mature and suited for the role while being joined by a former villain, Chuck, later on he and the Heroes would relinquish the Stones back to their original alien users when they came to Earth as they were the last pieces of their homeworlds, so they could take on the Planet Killer, Erodious who destroyed said planets. However, when only one of the survivors came back alive the heroes were taken to space to fight Erodious by finding more Stones of Power, eventually being able to defeat the Planet Killer's herald, Fantos and later stop the threat of the Planet Killer itself by restoring it to its true pure form with Papa G's good luck charm, which was the fourteenth stone of power. Once the heroes were done, they came back to Earth where their efforts got them a monetary compensation from the government at the expense of remaining silent about their adventures to the greater world, but the alien friends they made came to Earth to visit them regardless, making up a new and better status quo for everyone.
  • The Heroes arrived in the Pantheon after their last adventure was done, once an alien deity in the Pantheon came to their place to inform them of their new status. With this ascension they were given fully-functioning replicas of the Stones, including Papa G's, though the latter declined both of his on the grounds that he wasn't going to exploit them for his own gain and only considers taking them up again if there's a need for the team to combat a truly dangerous threat. The rest were all thrilled to have their powers back and also being far away from any government bodies that might try and boss them around.
  • Because their initial stint as superheroes was filled with blunders and lots of mistakes on their part they made good friends with heroes who also had a rough start in their adventures or had difficulty adapting to heroism:
    • The Powerpuff Girls had a pretty rough first day as superheroines as their powers were destructive and they had not much idea on how to control them, leading to chaos all around Townsville and being shunned by the populace, but through defeating Mojo Jojo in the latter's first outing they managed to prove their worth as heroes and ever since have remained Tonsville's defenders. The Girls mostly got along with the excitable Kid and Rosa, who both share the girls' passion for heroism and were awed by each other's capacities and abilities, Blossom also got along with Jo regarding their status as leaders of their teams and tendency to clash with their teammates in disagreements.
    • Peter Parker/Spider-Man was another one of these heroes, as from his first day he had a rough start to his adventures as Spider-Man, facing both personal and large-scale problems that affected him, primarily balancing his two sides of life around and the guilt of letting the criminal that killed Uncle Ben get away due to his negligence towards his responsibilities. He mostly bonded with Jo, as due to her role as the leader of the team she had to face a lot of pressure and screw-ups of her own and nearly tearing the team apart with some bad advice she got before she managed to set things right. Another thing Peter found in common with them was getting used to the powers that they got, primarily his Spider-Sense which has some similar uses to Tuna Sandwich's precognition.
  • Wander befriended them all without issue but mostly Papa G and Chuck; the former being pretty similar to Wander in attitude and outlooks on life with his tendency to see the good in everyone, while the latter was once an alien minion of a galactic conqueror who turned to good out of both kindness and admiring how brave Kid was compared to his leader. Wander and Chuck's friendship has served as a point of disturbance for Lord Hater and Peepers, who are annoyed to see another galactic conqueror give up his ambitions and evil ways out of kindness like Wander has spurred many other evil overlords to do, Chuck himself and the other Heroes all view the duo as a lesser concern and even are willing to be friendly towards them since worse villains like Lord Dominator are around besides them.
  • Since they fought Fantos the Collector, who wanted the Stones of Power to aid the planet-eating Erodious as his herald, they are heavily wary of Darkseid, Thanos and Galactus who all resemble the villain they fought themselves. While they don't hate Galactus since eating planets is not something he does out of malice, they do not spare any hatred towards Darkseid and Thanos who like Fantos spread destruction and ruin for the hell of it. Galactus has no interest in their Stones of Power, while Thanos himself has been intrigued by their abilities and wondered if they could be of use to him for any next conquest he might arrange.
  • Exclusive to the Kid:
    • Kid's primary Stone of Power lets him use telekinesis to move objects or himself around, which for a good amount of time made him think he gained the power of flight. Thus he made connections with other telekinesis users (not telepathy!) such as Psychic Pokemon like Mewtwo, who also has mind control among his powers but otherwise has a similar powerset to Kid including "flight" through TK. Other TK users include Ness and Lucas, who are within Kid's range of age and share similar experiences regarding being involved into dangerous fights and other situations during their own adventures each, most notably Ness who had to fight off the alien invasion spearheaded by Giygas.
    • Because Kid for a while had some selfish impulses due to trying to be a hero, he feels some sympathy for heroes who similarly had to grip with similar sentiments and actions in their own hero careers, Ben 10 was one such ally as before he truly had a grip on heroics he was bratty and selfish about his powers and intended to become famous with them, only learning the true meaning of heroism later on. And while he backpedaled several times on this lesson, he has managed to tame down his worst tendencies and become a humbler genuine hero as a result.
    • Kid's resentment of others being better than him at superheroics, which he eventually got over made him wary of those who became "heroes" only to achieve fame and fortune for their own personal gratification or another selfish whim such as Hal Stewart/Tighten, as the formerly nerdy reporter not only was jealous of Metro Man for being the center of attention of Metro City and felt entitled for gratification from others once he became a superhero and even went on a rampage before being stopped by Megamind. Similarly, he also detests the Plutonian for having allowed his jealously to turn him into a vile supervillain.
    • He lost both his parents in a car crash at a young age and that event marked him for life, making him desire to help others and be a hero so he could save people like he couldn't with his parents. As such he made connections with Batman, who as Bruce Wayne saw his parents die to a mugger and was inspired by his trauma to become a vigilante so he could prevent others from going through the pain he went through; Batman himself admires that Kid had the determination and bravery to be a true hero but also was quick to warn him not to be so reckless even after he became more thoughtful, knowing dangerous things even for him could await in the future given his own experiences with his surrogate children who became Robins going through various traumas themselves.
  • Exclusive to Jo:
    • She had to become the leader of the team as she was the most qualified but went through great hardships before she was finally able to fully settle into the role
    • Her portal-opening abilities got her an ally in Chell, who'd once been forced to deal with the rogue AI GLaDOS and has possibly lived through the invasion of the Combine in her world. While Chell is often silent and reserved, she has found some common grounds with Jo on which to speak on fully friendly terms; Jo has at times inquired about Chel's portal gun and seen if she can work around some way to use them for her daily life, even if Flo thinks the technology might not be the best for the kind of uses Jo thinks of.
  • Exclusive to Papa G:
    • Thanks to his old age, Papa G has practically Seen It All and knows things that almost no one else knows about the world; he's had unexplained escapades that got to the point where the US government has a large specific file on him. As such he made allies in those who have lived long and often fulfilling lives while gaining invaluable wisdom along the way, such as Master Yoda and Master Oogway; both masters of certain disciplines who've lived through centuries of varying events and confronted countless threats in their many years of life. Oogway in particular interested Papa G as he once was a ruthless warlord who saw the error of his ways when panda villagers healed him and taught him Chi control. While Oogway has offered some lessons to keep Papa G on a healthier state without the need of the Fourteenth Stone, he prefers to let nature run its course on him a decision Oogway respects.
    • He's also made a connection in Skips, the immortal yeti has also lived for many decades and seen a lot of strange otherwordly stuff, and even outlived a loved one with said death marking them greatly. Skips consoled Papa G on the loss of his child while Papa G offered his own condolences for Skips' lost love, Mona. Skips also found it admirable how Papa G willingly gave up his own immortality for the greater good while Papa G in turn finds it noble that Skips keeps on carrying the burden of losing his loved ones for the sake of the greater good of his own universe. At times Skips has borrowed Papa G's ring to improve his handywork when needed, always returning it once done.
    • He also had a preference for being kind to others and believes that heroes help, not hurt. This caused him to grow closer to Wander than the rest of the team as both found their similarities pleasant, while also giving him an appreciation for other similar heroes like Steven Universe and Naruto Uzumaki who believe most people are decent underneath even if they seem or act evil. He was particularly proud of Steven for finding a peaceful solution to the problem with the Gem Homeworld and has thought of visiting his universe for some sight-seeing. While he was a bit uneasy around the redeemed Homeworld Gems at first, he also found them good company and didn't mind their pasts thanks to their atonement.
  • Exclusive to Rosa:
    • She is a toddler with great control of her powers and was at first the absolute best of her team, due to this she made a connection with SCP-239, who is likewise potentially destructive with her powers yet is not truly trying to be mean or cruel despite what appearances may show. Though Rosa is wary of what 239 could do if she took her powers too far, she has somewhat been trying to help control her abilities better so they can play together without issue.
    • Benevolent sizeshifters befriended her most notably Hank Pym/Ant-Man who was surprised by the versatility of Rosa's abilities and her skills at fighting despite her young age. He has thought of investigating if her Stone could be of similar nature to the Pym Particles but prefers to wait until she may feel comfortable with sharing her Stone with him, not wanting to seem like he has ulterior motives or any others beyond his curiosity and desire to learn more of her abilities.
    • She once tried to wrestle Godzilla in her giant form, while the King of the Monsters isn't amused by having to play along, he decided to go with the routine to entertain Rosa since she was no threat in any way to him, even letting her "win" brawls a few times to humor her, and other times trying to mentor her into using her powers for good or helping others. She has taken to playing with other kaiju as well, such as Gamera who took a soft spot for her due to his care for children, as did Mothra Leo for the same reason.
  • Exclusive to Tuna Sandwich:
    • Tuna made connections in seers such as Garnet and Shulk, who like him employ their clairvoyance for good. Garnet herself also was interested in Tuna's temporary third eye whenever he uses his powers as she also has one such eye as a result of her fusion, she has fully befriended him by petting and caring for him in the times they cross paths and even has heard his stories of meeting aliens, even romancing a female alien cat and having a litter of space kittens who he cares for now, Tuna in turn was interested in her own stories of space and her components' nature given their dual element wielding reminds him of the Rings of Ice and Fire.
    • Garfield and Tuna Sandwich hang out from time to time thanks to their shared quirks as snarky pets, though Tuna is much more open about his feelings on other people and how he loves them, Garfield appreciates Tuna both due to his similar attitude and his useful clairvoyance when dealing with either Pantheonic traits or annoying people he wishes to avoid. Other cats such as Tom are also on good terms with Tuna despite their own antagonism, Tom ocasionally accompanies Tuna on daily walks or drops by his temple to chat amicably.
 * Exclusive to Stuck Chuck:
  • He made good friends with Peridot, another alien that once was part of a galactic empire as a low-ranking soldier but turned to good after being shown kindness and bravery of the real kind by their former enemies and realizing on their own they'd been supporting the wrong side. Peridot tried to build him some mechanical legs given she felt he probably could use a hand on that area but Chuck was fine with his current predictament as he saw it as his continuous atonement towards his past as a villain.
  • Chuck feels pity towards Zim, as he's seen the Invader is irrationally obsessed with his pointless goal of appealing to his higher-ups and isn't capable of comprehending how much they straight-up hate him; while he's done his fair share of attempts at convincing the Invader to give up his plans and reform so he can lead a better life his reasonings have fallen on deaf ears given Zim's unshakable narcissism, delusional behavior and stupidity which all irritated Chuck enough to never try again, even if he does still wishes Zim would see the light one day and turn good; even if that day is probably never ever coming.
  • Similarly to the case with Zim, he also feels pity for Jessie, James and Meowth since they too haven't figured out that they could be using their talents for good instead of evil, something he believes would bring them greater satisfaction than their current careers do; even more because they have occasionally reformed only to backtrack at every turn whenever they got even the slightest hint of validation from Giovanni, the trio in turns views him as an odd guy despite their off-field friendliness and preachy too so they avoid him. He does at least like to hear of another group of not-quite-evil villains who did see the light in Jindrax and Toxica.
  • For the others:
    • Flo is a protective mother who instilled values of love and peace on both her daughter and her friends, always striving to add a little love to everything; as such she made good friends with other mothers in the Pantheon who too preferred a more peaceful life, one of these mothers was Kitty Forman, who also had an affinity for being motherly and guiding towards people unrelated to her, similarly she also built a rapport with Chi-Chi, due to her headstrong personality and initially having been opposed to her children fighting against evil due to fearing for their safety and future but has come around thanks to seeing the good they do for the world with it.
    • Carla prefers to spend her days running in her motorbike, she's had encounters with some bikers such as Beelzemon and the Kamen Riders, she primarily got along with Takeshi Hongo due to also being an old-timer biker who continues living his days full of action, albeit he's a more active fighter against evil than her. She also once witnessed Wario as Wario Man crash his bike in her and her allies' temple while looking for Mo's Dinner to have a snack, she didn't like him much but at least was glad he paid her friend, Flo, generously for the food.
    • Hamburg and Fry hang out in the House of Food, sometimes even taking long residences to avoid the attention of their unwanted suitor, Boss Fiosa. In the meantime they hang out with other duo deities who are likewise best friends, some of these deities were J.D. and Turk, a duo of lifelong friends who they cross paths with often on their travels and have talked about some mundane topics to pass time. They also had things to fear from Lord Dominator more than just her usual villainy, as she reminds them of their current Abhorrent Admirer Boss Fiosa (who may want to eat them after forcing them to marry her).
    • Carlos and Ramona found themselves acquaintanced with other romantic married or dating duos in the Pantheon, mostly those with similar active love lives. One of these couples was La Muerte and Xibalba who due to being Mexican Gods call to their roots as Mexican immigrants, they were impressed to meet them and were quick to bring up some really long talks about their lives and what they did in their time as heroes. Another couple they made friends with were Gomez and Morticia Addams, a loving and happy married couple who they found to be good company despite their creepiness.

[[/folder]]

Also a proposal:

  • Dokurobei, Deified Not-So-Harmless Villain
    • Reasoning: Dokurobei is the main antagonist of the Yatterman anime series and Time Bokkan's most recurring major baddie, he leads the Doronbo Gang in trying to reunite the Skull Stone so he can recover his true form and leave Earth, but he is heavily comedic, always gives bad advice and his minions are too inept to do anything right so he isn't able to threaten much things. And even his few attempts at villainy always went badly, ending in both the original and 2008 animes having him leave Earth since he couldn't win against Yatterman. Then in Yatterman Night he comes back and loses several times until he finally gets serious and destroys most of Earth and takes it over after defeating the Yatterman, as the false identity of Lord Yatterman; he proves himself a cruel monstruous tyrant that shed most of his previous mitigating traits and humor and who requires a considerable amount of effort to finally defeat for good.
    • The trope is currently held by SCP-2006, but his profile seems a bit tad outdated and I feel Dokurobei is a much more iconic and bigger example of leaving the "harmless villain" ballpark given how he became in Yatterman Night while being the same character from the original and 2008 animes.

Okay, the another day I learned that there isn't a Hall dedicated for sleep tropes. I was interested in that idea after I placed Rip Van Winkle in his hall but always felt it didn't suit him 100%. I checked the deities that held a sleep trope and most of them are in an Attitude, Characterization or Flaw related hall, which also has a similar vague hall placement issue IMO. So, I propose moving the following deities in this new sleep hall:

Note: I think Princess Syalis's second hall in Hobbies and Lifestyles and Kero's current hall should stay as both fit that hall very well. If their halls get to long, their profile can be cut from their second hall in a future date.

This hall would be named either "Sleepiness" or "Act of Sleeping" and would be placed in the House of Mentalism, as the other sleep related hall, Dreams and Nightmares is placed there.

This would also remedied the long page warning on the Hall of Specialized Narratives.

@Trypticon 03, I'm sorry to say this, but I think you'll have to restart the profile. The only thing I find right with it are his Star Trek enemies. Shockwave is an enemy to humanity, plain and simple. There is absolutely no way Marcus would ally with him. The Deceptions aren't just enemies to humanity, they're enemies to the Federation itself. Thanos should be an enemy, not just someone to oppose. Even if you didn't bring up the time he snapped the universe in half, Thanos is personally responsible for cosmic genocide! Why would King Dedede work with him? MGT YHVH would have humanity enslaved, and stripped of free will. He's destroyed humanity on a number of times. And trying to use the Event Horizon is too insane even for him. Finally your paragraphs are way to short to be accepted.

There are plenty of different allies he could try to work with, but this is way too OOC.

Any suggestions for the Lord of the Underworld?

  • Allies: Yuuki Terumi, Grima, Yhwach, Infinite, Mard Geer Tartaros, Ah Puch, Tzeentch, Nyarlathotep, Hermaeus Mora, Canaletto
  • Rivals: The Chaos Kin, Molag Bal, Ares, Nekron
  • Enemies: Pit, Palutena, Dark Pit, Viridi, Dyntos, Hades, Persephone, Zagreus, Kratos, Spawn, Asura , Fused Zamasu, Grenth, Nekron, Lucifer, Ragna The Bloodedge, The Entire Greek Pantheon, Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu, Kirby
  • Unwitting Pawns: Literally every single being in the Pantheon that kills, especially The Harvesters and The Shroobs.
  • Opposes: Morpho Knight, Janemba, Majin Buu
  • Exiled by Palutena, the Goddess of Light, in times past and defeated by Pit in her attempt to take over the land soon after 25 years the Queen of the Underworld, Medusa, makes her grand and sudden return to finish what she started, forcing Pit and Palutena to make their reintroduction ultimately culminating in Medusa demise yet again. Roll the credits... or, well, not quite. Literally ripping the credits and what's left of the fourth wall apart is Hades, the True Master of the Underworld. Having cooked up a new weak body for Medusa for the heroes to fight after she is disposed of he enters the fray himself to lead the Underworld Army. Not long after his return would the war between the gods escalate even further with the introduction to Viridi and the Forces of Nature along with then the Aurum and later the Chaos Kin... Ultimately, both Palutena and Viridi would come to realize that Hades is profiting from all the lives lost in the drawn out conflict and thus would turn their attention towards him. Though he ultimately proved to be a much greater foe than Medusa he too would eventually fall to Pit in the final battle.
  • On the early days of the Pantheon he was a God in the House of Villainy. As time went on though he became a bit more quiet as more and more gods rolled in. When his old title of Manipulative Bastard was revoked and his old temple was to be demolished a familar voice came once more: "Now wait just a second," And sure enough, Hades came back in all his glory with his Underworld Army swarming the House of Naming and Epithets as he told to everyone present he was certainly here to stay. He then ordered some members of the Underworld Army to kill the offenders to add their souls to the collection he needs and his forces to take over the Pantheon.
"Now I have you pretty little pinheads know I'm here to stay. Yes, yes, losing my old title was a bit of a damper of the mood, but that's old news. And old news bores me. Now let's get this party started! Here's to me getting a closer seat to all the newer and sweet, sweet, delectable souls ripe for the taking."
  • Hades’ temple lies inside a portal to the Underworld, and getting in there is easier said than done. He’s brought the entire Underworld Army with him, even going as far as to make another Medusa after the one from before betrayed him and kept the armor that possessed Gaol around for future plans. A favored trick of his is to mess with people is to use Mimicuties to disguise themselves as treasure chests in order to destroy his foes. And if it fails? He still wins. After all, the reactions to being attacked by Mimicuties give him a good laugh. Hades’ ultimate goal happens to be the total domination of all of creation, and he plans to use fallen souls to further strengthen himself and add to the numbers of his very own Underworld Army. Don’t be fooled by the affable behavior displayed by the Lord of the Underworld, for he will go to absolutely any length needed to accomplish his goals, and underneath his affability is a sadistic, cunning, intelligent, depraved, genocidal and destructive Troll with absolutely zero redeeming qualities whatsoever, and he revels in all of it.HADES
  • Hades first set up shop in the Pantheon years ago, and when he did he was quite amused to find out that Pit and PalutenaHADES were also there, and mockingly greeted them both. Back then, he was ascended due to Yhwach’s crusade to become unstoppable. Yhwach’s war against everyone ended up drawing Hades to the Pantheon. At one point, Yhwach used the Almighty to gain an advantage over some of the Allies Ichigo and friends made in the Pantheon…and then a ravine erupted in the ground, and Hades emerged from it, laughing.HADES He then greeted them, introducing himself as Hades, Lord of the Dead and the Underworld. He then informed them that he was here to stay, and promptly levelled the area with a punch, Yhwach and Ichigo the only ones able to avoid it, before flying away into the distance with a massive cackle. Hades then proceeded to fan the flames of the war that was going on at the time and when he was eventually discovered, laughed it off. He then proceeded to murder the people who discovered him, and when he was later found out, decided to introduce himself, and to the shock and horror of everyone involved, Hades had successfully made a case for the Manipulative Bastard trope. After ascending to the Pantheon then, he set up shop for himself and the Underworld Army.
"I do wonder, you all are very interesting for humans. But it doesn’t matter to me, after all! My body has reformed for reasons I will discover, but don’t really care about, so for now, it’s time for Round 2 to begin! Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but now I’ll get this party STARTED! And it won’t be ending any time soon! Now, I must bid you adieu.”
    • Hades, curious on how his body was restored, eventually sought out the people who were close to where he first arrived to the Pantheon at the time to find out who was responsible. He then came to learn about the beings known as Quincies, and from some digging, learned about an ability called the Almighty, which their king has full command over. He ended up making an arrangement with Yhwach. A mutual alliance to collect souls and tear their enemies apart. Yhwach doesn’t care about humanity after all, so it was a win for Hades. That being said, Hades doesn’t plan on betraying the man. He does not want to be on the receiving end of The Almighty, which even he admits he doesn’t have a defense against.
  • Hades is one of the hammiest villains in the Pantheon, and is also a highly manipulative schemer. Still, his Sadism, cunning and immense desire to troll others, even when in a begrudging alliance with them, earned him the respect of Yuuki Terumi.
  • Hades’ plans for existential conquest reminded Anne Boonchuy, Marcy Wu and Sasha Waybright of the Core’s plans for multiversal conquest. They ended up caught outside of the House of Life and Creation in a battle against his forces, which Hades had taken to spearheading himself. While they actually did hurt Hades quite a lot, they ran out of energy while he was leveling taunts at them, and Sasha flew at him with every intent to try and shut him up… it backfired. Hades quickly followed by grabbing Anne, and Marcy and throwing them into his maw to join Sasha in his belly.HADES When the three came to, Hades was happy to inform them that they were in his stomach, complete with a smug belch to rub it in. Cue Hades leveling taunts their way as they tried to navigate through and fight off the monsters within his intestines, all three bemoaning that they had been eaten yet again. Thankfully, they didn’t have to experience a… certain way out because Kratos cut his back open. Hades, doesn’t see them as threatening as the Great Sacred Treasure, though he is taking the Calamity Girls quite seriously as enemies beneath his behavior, and absolutely despises Kratos.HADES
  • To his surprise, there were beings in the Pantheon that were able to cause problems for him plundering the afterlife for souls. Morpho Knight was the greatest amongst these. Morpho Knight’s ability to absorb others who evade death with a single touch disturbed him, as it works even on Overdeities like Galacta Knight. While Hades is confident he’d survive as a spirit like he did before, he isn't taking the chance, especially as Morpho Knight's higher ability to manipulate souls renders it all but immune to Hades and his forces. Fortunately for Hades, Morpho Knight is focused on taking down those with Complete Immortality as it doesn’t like blind spots to its own power, so Hades hasn’t had to worry about it all that much.
    • Hades also found a great deal of frustration with two of the deadliest monsters from Universe 7, Janemba, and Majin Buu. Janemba started causing problems for Hades simply by his existence breaking down the barriers between the Mortal Realm and the afterlife, allowing the souls Hades wanted to harvest to escape unchanged. Irritated at someone intruding upon his domain, Hades attacked Janemba. He was delighted to discover that being his usual insults, actually damaged the Demon, which ultimately allowed Hades to injure Janemba into leaving the Underworld for now. Janemba's ally Majin Buu on the other hand, was a very different story.
    • Majin Buu is one of the only deities in the Pantheon that has managed to truly piss Hades off, due to how good Buu is at screwing him and his plans over. From absorbing his Commanders which prevents them from being revived, annihilating the souls Hades seeks to manipulate after invading the afterlife, and even damaging or collapsing the afterlife itself, blowing up the places Hades is trying to conquer, and being both too powerful for Hades to stop, and too stupid for Hades to manipulate due to Buu's singular drive to make everything explode. Even more frustrating for Hades, the chaos he causes draws Buu to his forces, and Buu does what he does best, giving Hades many a frustration induced migraine.

I’m plotting my schemes wherever I go! They’re perfect in every way…

Anyway, how do these profiles look?

Monsignor Ronald Arbuthnott Knox, God of Fair Play Mysteries(Archbishop Knox)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronald_knox.jpg

  • Borderline Demigod, Unknown Rank as a Witch Hunter
  • Symbol: The Knox Bible
  • Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Portfolio: From Anglican to Catholic Priest, disliked the ambivalence of the Anglican Church which led to to him getting cut out of his father's will, Vow of Celibacy, Deadpan Snarker, used Scholarships to make his way in Oxford, Satirized both religious and secular matters

  • Herald: His "daughter" Dlanor A. Knox
  • Allies: God(Bruce Almighty), God (God, the Devil and Bob), Battler Ushiromiya, Sherlock Holmes, Jeanne D'Arc, Saint George and Martha, Conan Edogawa, John Watson, Hercule Poirot, Columbo, Wright Anything Agency, Richard Castle

  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Luz Noceda and Amity Blight

  • Enemies: Dis, The Godhand, Griffith, Emperor Belos, YHVH, Claude Frollo, Kirei Kotomine, The God-Emperor of Mankind, William Stryker, Nemisis Squadron, Wilhelm Strauss

  • Mystery stories distinguish themselves from the thriller and horror genres not by simply having mystery, but by having that mystery being "fair": a logical result of the story's information, perhaps even solvable before the grand reveal. However, things were not always this way. Mystery stories were originally written to dangle a mystery in front of the reader and then show off the intelligence of detectives through contrived jumps in reason and observation. But in the Golden Age of Mystery, the genre came into its own by bringing readers into the interactive detective experience. The man who codified this age of Fair Mysteries was not a critic but the writer and Catholic Priest Ronald Knox.
    • Born in 1888 to the future Bishop of Manchester, Knox gained the respect of both peers and professors at Oxford, but what he really wanted to do was become a priest. Taking a vow of celibacy at 17, he was ordained as an Anglican priest and became the chaplain of Trinity College. Only 5 years later he resigned as an Anglican priest and became a Catholic Priest, to the great displeasure of his father, the Anglican Bishop of Manchester. From then on he became a highly respected priest, theologian, and Catholic apologist, with such feats as creating his own translation of the Bible and being denoted as a Protonotary apostolic by Pope Pius XII. However, he is also known for his work in analyzing and codifying the mystery genre through his mystery stories and the creation of the Knox's Decalogue.

  • No one knows how or when Ronald Knox ascended, but the first time he was seen was when a man with fatal injuries entered a church late at night. While the chapel was supposed to be empty when the man began his confession someone on the other side of the confession box replied to him. It was later discovered that this mysterious figure was none other than Knox, who believed that the last thing to be done for a dying man was to "Hear his confession and give him absolution".

  • As a theologian, Knox is interested in discovering the nature and thinking of god. Unfortunately, in the Pantheon there are seemingly multiple versions of God, so he has his work cut out for him. So far, Knox has used this incredible opportunity to ask the God who is friends with Bob and the God who talked to Bruce about their jobs and their views on various subjects, but hasn't gotten any substantive answers.
    • Knox opposes the forces of evil, especially those with demonic natures as part of being a good Christian. He is especially concerned about Dis, who is apparently the source of the rest of the Satans in the Pantheon, and the Godhand, who operate in a world where they are not balanced out by good counterparts. Knox has tried warning others about Griffith's deceptive nature through his writings, but the forces of evil are very good at creating counternarratives to diminish the impact.

  • While he is a Catholic priest, Knox gets along perfectly with other kinds of Christians in the Pantheon as well as those of other regions. However, he seems to get into debates about religion very often, where his experience as a theologian makes him formidable. Deities now joke that "when Ronald starts debating religion, it's time to leave the event". In the Pantheon, he takes the position of Elysium Academy's head chaplain and as a theology teacher. Due to the diverse religious landscape of the Pantheon, this position has forced him to learn about many of the other religions to properly perform his duties. His opinion on these other religions? "They are all very interesting, but none of them match up with the Catholic tradition".
    • Being a Protonotary apostolic technically gives Knox authority below only the pope(citation required). This makes him the highest-ranking Catholic in the Pantheon. Instead of using his rank as a means of influence, he instead uses his charisma to smooth over disagreements between his fellow clergy and coordinate their efforts, becoming their de facto leader. This is a good change from the general lack of coordination from before his ascension, although he is often exasperated and frustrated by Alexander Anderson's enthusiasm for violence or Gaterbelt's inappropriate love for children due to the work of keeping them in line.
    • Of course, Knox loathes completely evil clergy who sully both God and Church. Chief among these are Claude Frollo(who was also the Archdeacon in the Book), who set Paris aflame due to his hypocritical lust, and Kirei Kotomine for kidnapping children to provide Gilgamesh with magical energy and plotting to bring about All the World's Evil. However, he does acknowledge that both men had reasons for what they did, albeit twisted ones, and prays that god will forgive their sins. However, the Protestant William Stryker has no excuse to be so hateful towards mutants, and knox does his best to denounce the hateful preacher at every turn.
    • Outside of the church, Knox is also grateful to meet other Christian figures such as the Saints in the Pantheon. He especially admires Jeanne D'Arc for her ability to inspire hope in others. Sometimes, Knox will even help her through her writing classes, in which she has shown amazing progress. Through their newfound friendship, Ronald also learned about YHVH, the false god who tried bringing the Maiden of Orleans over to his side for the cause of a corrupted law. Knox has vowed to use his influence to help steer people away from these evil versions of the Abrahamic god.
    • Those who turned away from the church for both understandable and not understandable reasons

  • While he died of cancer at the age of 69 in Real Life, in the universe of Umineko: When They Cry, the circumstances of his death are much more mysterious. In this universe, he was the Head Inquisitor of the Great Court of Heaven who created Knox's decalogue as weapons to combat witches(the sources of mystery), but was interrogated and executed by his daughter Dlanor A. Knox. For this reason, Dlanor appears as Ronald's herald whenever she a break away from her busy job, and the two seem to have a healthy relationship as father and daughter. It is speculated that Dlanor is either adopted given how the two look so different or that Dlanor is the embodiment of the Decalogue, which makes Knox her father because he "created" her. When asked about his past as a witch hunter, the priest simply says that he is retired and will leave the work fighting the supernatural to future generations. In fact, this aspect of his past is so murky that no one knows how powerful he would be if he used his inquisitor powers, nor would they want to know.
    • However, a stroke of fate revealed just a bit of that unknown power. When Emperor Belos was pursuing Sarah Spellman for unknown reasons, the young witch was saved by the timely intervention of a holy wedge that pierced Belos's arm, which subsequently exploded. He was forced to flee, but not before confronting the priest.
Knox: I've heard that the Puritans were tough on themselves, but I guess the history books were wrong. After all, they seem to be pretty loose on fratricide.
Emperor Belos: How did you...never mind that, why is a man of the cloth siding with an unholy witch?
Knox: Well, I don't think you could understand a full Thesis so let me just say this: God protects all people.

  • Although Dlanor has a reputation of being a ruthless judge, she's actually quite reasonable when it comes to witches and demons, able to interact with them peacefully with no issues and even volunteered to help defend the Golden Land against Bernkastel's forces for no reason other her own sense of justice. Whether this attitude came from Ronald or she influenced him towards her views is unknown, but the two are generally of the same mind that extremists like Belos bring shame to the name of Christ. While Belos's archenemies Luz and Amity know of his opposition to Belos and are theoretically willing to work with him, his position as a priest and past as a witch-hunter makes for a frosty relationship.
    • Dlanor has also told Knox about her Worthy Opponent Battler Ushiromiya, a mystery who fought to preserve his family's dignity even with the odds against him. The two often swap reading recommendations and are considering forming a fan club for mystery story fans. Knox doesn't actively seek to be friendly with Battler's supernatural allies, but he has no objection to them.

  • Outside of Christianity, Knox's crowning achievement was Knox's decalogue, a set of 10 rules to be used for writing mystery stories. While he acknowledges that the set is somewhat outdated, these rules represented a sea change in the mystery genre away from unsolvable mysteries towards "fairness". As a witch-hunter, these rules serve as powerful Anti-Magic tools that can enforce strong metafictional constraints. The decalogue can be found here.
    • Of all mystery stories, Knox's favorites are the ones of Sherlock Holmes, although this did not save Holmes from being made fun of in "The Adventure of the First Class Carriage". In fact, Knox is an early player of The Sherlockian game, which aims to create a full biography of Holmes and Watson by combining the original stories and real-life history. In fact, efforts like these might be why Holmes and Watson are prevalent in so many universes. When their schedules aligned and Knox was finally able to meet the Great Detective in person, he was uncharacteristically giddy, and he happened to walk away from the occasion with a signed copy of A Study in Scarlet and an enormous smile. Holmes and Watson are slightly confused as to why a catholic priest is so engaged with their mystery stories, but they don't give it much mind.
    • Besides Holmes and Watson, Knox has also met other famous detectives such as Hercule Poirot and Conan Edogawa. Knox is impressed at how Conan seems to solve so many cases without aging even a little bit, and prays that he can take down the Black organization one day. He thinks that Knox is an acceptable facsimile of Sherlock Holmes, but is unsure what to think about him killing the culprit in his last case. When it comes to more unconventional detectives, Knox is impressed by Lieutenant Columbo's ability to outsmart even the smartest culprits and untangle the most airtight cases.
    • Of course, one doesn't have to be employed as a detective in order to be a detective in a narrative sense. Knox is surprised that the Wright Detective Agency can even uncver so much information in the middle of the trial, especially since Pheonix has also tackled the English legal system. On the other hand, he wonders what that means for the competence of the police in their world.
    • Besides meeting with famous detectives, Knox is also very friendly with other mystery writers, such as Richard Castle. While he doesn't plan on playing the role of a detective himself, Knox sometimes helps Richard of cases where even more Genre Saavy is needed. Also has no idea what's going between Richard and Kate.
    • The most controversial of the decalogue are Knox's 2nd and 5th, albeit for different reasons. Knox acknowledges that the 2nd("All supernatural or preternatural agencies are ruled out as a matter of course") was written in an age where magic was a way to create or solve problems without rhyme or reason, and that magic systems with well-established and consistent rules can have their place in mysteries. More troublesome is Knox's 5th: "No Chinaman must figure in the story". This was not a rule to exclude Chinese people from mystery stories, but instead a suggestion to avoid mystery stories that leaned upon cultural and racial stereotypes in lieu of substantive writing. However, Knox still agrees that this and some of the other commandments need tweaking, and has promised to work on it to incorporate the changing field of the mystery genre. Perhaps after he is done, Dlanor can start growing again.

  • One of the less well-known aspects of Knox's life is that he served in British intelligence during World War 1. The ascended forces of the Entente have asked if he wants to rejoin the fight against the German empire, but Knox has declined, stating that he finds his work as a priest to be more effective in the Pantheon, but he will sometimes provide chaplain services for the soldiers.

  • After the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Knox wrote God and the Atom about the moral quandries arising from the development of nuclear weapons. As he concluded "perhaps we could not use them?", Knox is against the proliferation and escalation of nuclear warfare or other WM Ds. It is for this reason that he is asking the Court of Gods to create rules against the use of overly devastating weapons in warfare. He is also opposed to deities or groups who want to develop and use more of these devastating weapons, such as the Nemisis Squadron.

  • When he's not giving sermons or reading mystery novels, Knox loves to have a little bit of fun, and his definition of fun is making satires and hoaxes like he did in life. One time, he wrote against The God-Emperor of Mankind's attempt to gain greater influence over the GUAG by arguing in Switean manner that true "supporters of Humanity" should do their best to eliminate human zygotes and embryos, which "neither look nor speak like humans, and are therefore actually xenos". Needless to say, he was blacklisted from a lot of events sponsored by the Imperium from then on. In another incident, he redid his "Broadcasting from the Barracades" stunt, but instead created an entire pre-recorded live stream that showed the Pantheon being overtaken by a "revolution of disenchanted middle managers" in order to teach the deities of the Pantheon to not believe everything they see online.

  • During the height of France's Reign of terror, there was a man set to be executed in front of a crowd. When the executioner did not come, everyone still wanted the man dead, but none wanted to actually perform the deed. However, one man in the crowd, urged by his laboring wife, volunteered to do the grisly deed. At that same moment, the wife gave birth to Marguerite Breuilh. Born under the guillotine, Marie was mute for ten years, until she suddenly started singing about filling guillotines with blood, as well as manifesting a curse that decapitated all who touched her. Her father abandoned the family, her mother went insane, and she was executed as a witch via the same guillotine that she had been born under 17 years ago. But death would not be the end, as her powerful soul ascended to become a Godou god, and she became stranded in her realm, the Twilight Beach, outside of time for all eternity.
    • It was at this time that Mercurius, going by the name of Count Calistrogo, found Marie in the Twilight Beach and became convinced that she was the key for him to die. In order to ascend her as a true Hadou God, he created his greatest opera, a story involving the fight between the Longinus Dresden Orden against Ren Fuji and his friends. It worked, as thanks to her new experiences and bond with Ren she became the Fifth God to take the throne and created an era of unprecedented prosperity and happiness for the throne system through her system of coexistence and reincarnation.
    • However, good things do not last forever. Her world of affirming people's desires allowed Hajun to rise in power, convinced that it was the twilight's embrace that was infringing on his solitude. While Mercurius was able to start again and prevent Hajun's rise in a different scenario, this version of Marie died to Hajun and became another sacrifice for the "Pantheon" plan.

  • Marie once served as a herald to both Mercuruius and Ren, but this obviously led the two to start arguing who should have her more often. In order to defuse the conflict, Marie moved herself and The Twilight Beach to an entirely new temple and applied to become the Goddess of Kill exclusivity, representing the power of her Guillotine Curse. This definitely solved the former issue, but now when Ren and Mercurius visit at the same time a fight always seems to break out.

  • Naturally, Marie is the closest to Ren Fujii. It's not technically confirmed if the two are in a relationship, but it's pretty obvious that something is going on. If someone wants to try to get Ren to do something, the wise choice is often not to ask him directly but to try to convince Marie. There's also the matter of Mercurius, who is also incredibly devoted to Marie, although probably not in the romantic sense. Marie trusts Calostrogo/Mercurius, but also questions whether his plan to ascend her was too complicated and dangerous. While one would think that Marie would oppose the LDO members in the Pantheon, but she doesn't: she's seen their reincarnations and knows that they have the potential to be better people; she just hopes that they don't do worse things in the Pantheon. When it comes to her killer Hajun, Marie isn't the least bit hateful: she instead pities his nature, and hopes that he can find at least a little bit of peace in the Pantheon. Marie isn't very familiar with the other hadou gods, but knows that Nerose Satanael, Mithra, and Magasarion created worlds of suffering and oppression, and so tries to keep them from doing anything drastic that might affect the Pantheon or even the multiverse beyond. When it comes to Hadou Gods not in the Pantheon, she's interested in what Hirume has in store, as the new girl is also combining parts of previous laws in an afterlife.

  • While Ren and Shirou Emiya are rivals, Marie gets along well with her fellow blond-haired visual novel heroine Saber. It helps that they both love to eat food. It's said that when the two enter the same establishment at the same time, an alarm is sounded in the kitchen.

  • As a mortal who became a multiversal goddess that granted souls salvation by rewriting the laws of reality, Marie is often compared to the Goddess of Hope herself, Madoka Kamane. However, due to a stroke of fate, they had never met until Madoka's powers were stolen during the Rebellion. Thanks to their similar backgrounds and personalities the two are like peas in a pod: Marie hopes that she can help Madoka avoid her bad ending and make up with Homura, and Madoka is glad to have another friend that sees her as an equal and not an idol. Thanks to their friendship, Madoka has introduced Marie to more modern conveniences like video games and foreign teas, which Marie greatly appreciates. While Rinne Tensei is not a replacement for the Law of Cycles, Marie's presence makes the other Magical girls of the sisterhood feel relieved that divine power is still on their side.
    • The comparison between Marie and Madoka has led to homucifer supporters to come up with an interesting argument known as the "Hajun Hypothesis". The argument goes that if Homura did not take Madoka's powers, her position as goddess would have made her a target for unknown third parties (like how Hajun emerged). Critics have pointed out that not having god powers makes her more vulnerable to these threats, so the effort is useless at least. Marie has yet to comment on this matter.

  • Why did Mercurius think that Marie was the only one able to kill him? It all has to do with her Guillotine curse, which decapitates those who touch her (unless it is Ren or someone close to him). This curse bypasses regenerative abilities to kill the target, and can only be beaten by either having exponentially more power or an ability that specifically allows the user to survive death. She doesn't have enough power at the moment to kill deities like Aldia or SCP 682, but it's still incredibly strong. The Death Seekers of the Pantheon seek her out so that she can end her misery. While she can't really do anything for ascended deities besides consoling them, she does try to help unfortunate mortal souls reincarnate into a better position if possible.
    • Her curse also makes her a sort of counterpart to SCP-049, who can also kill at a touch. One time, he tried to kill her her in order to "cure" her, but when she was touched it was the doctor's head that fell off instead.

  • As one of the more benevolent Hadou Gods and an ally of the side of Good, Marie became interested in Cosmos, the current leader of the GUAG. Marie is impressed at how the goddess is able to get so many different heroes from different worlds and walks of life to work together and pledged her assistance if it was needed. Cosmos appreciates the gesture, and the two have talked for long periods of time at Cosmos's tea parties. One thing that struck Marie's interest about Cosmos's story was how Shinryu set up the conflict between her and Chaos in order to gain strength. Marie wonders [[Main/Foreshadowing if there is also someone behind the throne system setting up the different Hadou Gods]].

  • As an indirect victim of the Reign of Terror, Marie is interested in meeting with other French deities, especially those who lived during the time of the first French Revolution. She is especially surprised that Queen Marie Antoinette is in the Pantheon, and pities her for how the public distorted her image due to their hatred for the monarchy. Charles Henri-Sanson is interested in Guillotine Curse and connection to Margueritte-Bois de Justice, but he understands that she allows Ren to use in that way and mostly leaves her be. Marie has befriended both Jeanne the Witch and Jeanne D'Arc, who were also french women killed for accusations of witchcraft with varying levels of truth.

  • Her Law, Rinne Tensei, has two main precepts: Allowing people to reincarnate in order to have another chance at fulfilling their desires, and allowing multiple Hadou Gods to exist at the same time. This makes her the good counterpart to Chakravartin: while the Golden seeks to trap souls into the cycle of Samsara in order to control them, Marie created reincarnation as a way to give people second chances and make their dreams come true. For the most part it worked as discrimination between types of people decreased and souls grew and matured. In general, Rinne-Tensei is seen as a middle point between pure adherence to the status quo and trying to force a utopia, as it does not affect the course of mortal life but instead the cosmic stakes over doing good and evil. However, that does not mean that she has critics: Cassius Ballad thinks that Marie is somehow responsible for the constant death and reincarnation of his lover Yuel, and wants to kill her like he did [[spoiler: Etro, although it would be much harder. Then there is the matter of Janemba, a demon formed from the evil accumulated in the soul-cleansing machine of the Dragon Ball universe's hell. Marie sees that her system isn't perfect, and is coming up with ways to reduce its drawbacks. When it comes to the second property, her law makes her sort of the The Heart of the Hadou gods, and she tries her best to resolve conflicts and reduce collateral damage. But when it comes to individuals as crazy and powerful as them, it's an uphill battle.

  • While she has gained a lot of self-awareness and social skills from when she was singing about guillotines, she still remembers how the people around her shunned her due to fear and hatred. For that reason, she is sympathetic to people whose innocent but creepy traits have made them pariahs. One example is Erma Williams, a kind ghost girl who still creeps people out without meaning to. Marie has become good friends with the girl, and thinks that she has the potential to do a lot of good when she grows up.

  • When she was a Godou/Transcendence God, the Twilight Beach was her own personal domain that exists outside of space and time. Although it's unknown whether she created it, she is the eternal master of the space. While she prefers to spend her time with others, she has often found that multiversal travelers like SCP-507 end up there and sometimes even require help to get out. After Mercurius mentioned the Milliways restaurant, Marie had the idea to possibly renovate the etherial space into a rest stop for travellers. She is currently looking for partners and contractors.

  • Now that she has a lot of free time in the Pantheon, Marie has been thinking about her reign on the throne and what she could have done differently(a rarity for Hadou Gods). Although it would be against her nature to force Hajun to bend to her will, she acknowledges that she could have been assertive instead of leaving everything to her guardians. Therefore, she has resolved to learn how to fight so she can stand up for herself without Ren having to defend her all the time or going against her law/nature. note It was a trouble learning techniques that didn't immediately invoke the Guillotine Curse, but a goddess with her reputation had no trouble finding teachers:
    • After hearing about how the conflict between the Light Side and Dark Side was similar to the world of the First Throne, Marie approached Obi-Wan Kenobi in hopes of learning how to use a lightsaber, which would still be less lethal than normal contact. While Marie wasn't suited to using lightsabers, she was still able tp pick up a bit of knowledge about Obi-Wan's defensive strategy of outlasting the opponent to expose mistakes.
    • Next was the waterbender Katara, who focuses on redirecting her opponent's energy back at them. Marie doesn't have the talent to waterbend nor manipulate any elemental powers, but the idea of manipulating energy stuck in her mind.
    • During a party, Marie happened to meet Whis, an angel who is known for teaching Goku and Vegeta godly techniques. Marie asked Whis to train her in ways to defend herself whenever he had free time, and he agreed if Marie cooked something for him (and also because Zeno though her powers were cool). After Marie managed to figure out how to make a parfait, Whis started giving Marie short classes on martial arts. Due to her lack of experience progress is slow, it is consistent and Marie has now learned to do things like anticipate enemy strikes and strategically summon her Kumigara for attacks. Whis thinks that she may also have the potential to learn Autonomous Ultra Instinct, though only as a technique instead of a form like Goku.

[up] For Marie, I think the paragraph involving Saber can be expanded since it's a bit too short.

@Lawliet

You can add Tanaka-kun to that Hall since he has Sleepyhead. [tup] for the Hall idea.

@Fasoman

Yes, Buckshot Roulette is in the Hype Prevention Sandbox. Wait until May 4 to propose the Dealer from that game.
