Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

About damn time. Here's my reposted draft for the Shelby Family. Done enough (although I guess Tommy's the one taking up the spotlight, unfortunately) and I'm opening up approvals. Anything else that can be added, or are they good to go?

Also, this may be the longest time I've taken between having an idea approved and getting their profile done (this was an idea I've had suggested since 2020)...

  • The Shelbys were a wealthy and influential family in the early 20th century, based in Birmingham, England, and were of Irish Traveller descent. The family was best known for founding the Shelby Limited Company, which focused on advertising and selling exported goods and antique beverages. The company proved successful, raking in large sums of money for the family as well as developing strong interests from other workers and companies and holding good relations with its employees. More famously though, the Shelbys were the governing force of the Peaky Blinders, a gang organization with humble beginnings that soon grew and escalated into the biggest criminal gang in the United Kingdom and one of the largest, most influential in the world. As a testament to their reputation, the Peaky Blinders have a hand in such working fields and industries as distillery, automotive manufacturing factories, and racetracks, just to name a few. At its peak, the organization was run by Thomas Shelby, a man defined by his no-nonsense attitude to approaching things and maintaining an authoritative and dignified approach to settling his matters. Tommy's ruthless pragmatism and sharp wits allowed him to become the leading figure of his family and the gang and company they owned, and his stern yet personable approach led to many alliances and victories, all the way to entering politics and establishing a working partnership with Winston Churchill. Despite the many losses and victories he's endured as well as the trauma of having fought in World War I, Tommy ensures the Peaky Blinders and the Shelby Family would thrive for years to come and go down as one of the most influential, feared, and powerful gangsters in the world.
  • Of course, many losses were made in the family, with John and Polly having been killed by an ambush from enemies on two separate occasions and creating an irreparable dent for the Shelbys. Michael lost his trust in Tommy upon hearing of his mother's death and became an enemy, prompting Tommy to shoot his cousin dead in their last confrontation That's not to mention other comrades and relatives that they've lost, Tommy himself having to see his first wife Grace being shot whilst trying to save him and his daughter with his second wife, Ruby, dying from tuberculosis years later. Although the family was last seen having a bittersweet dinner, Tommy himself disappeared after supposedly contracting tuberculoma, though he later discovered that his diagnosis was faked and destroyed much of his possessions. Although his fate was left ambiguous, the Pantheon was quick in recognizing the Shelbys' tale and bought into the Pantheon. The family was perplexed, to say the least, and more confusion arose when Polly, Michael, and John turned up alive and well. All things considered, their reunion was a rocky, dysfunctional one, with only Ada and Polly being able to keep their composure and only barely at that. Arthur wonders whether being in the Pantheon is something of a divine joke to him. Tommy's arrival has quelled the drama somewhat, but it's clear that tensions remain, especially between Tommy and Michael, with only Polly being the mediator that keeps the two from killing each other. The Pantheon was to be a tough time for them.
  • The Shelbys are a controversial family. They are criminals and, of course, they have ties to the House of Crime and Transgressions, but this hasn't stopped them from trying out legitimate business practices and schemes as well as Tommy having been a Labour Party MP, having met and worked with Winston Churchill in furthering his political and domestic power over the United Kingdom. This makes Tommy one of the most powerful criminals in the Pantheon if judged by authority and influence. His charm is magnetic and impressionable and his calm, eloquent tone and affability have won him much in the way of loyalty, but he's also a very ruthless man on a bad day who is willing to kill if need be. Arthur and John serve as muscles of the family and are good in combat... and getting drunk with alcohol, with Arthur even having dabbled into drug abuse, something that Tommy takes umbrage on and attempts to curb this problem for his brother's safety. Ada, the sole sister, tends to be the only one who wants to be free from the negative influence and stereotype her brothers have made with their occupation and tries to distance herself from the family as much as she could, to little success. Polly, the matriarch of the family despite being their aunt, is about the only one who could properly mentor and guide Tommy and kept their business afloat when the brothers were out fighting WWI. Polly's son, Michael, was a late addition, having been taken away from her alongside his sister, who died during childhood and being hidden away until he was 18. With that information, Michael has a hard time fitting in with his family but does prove his worth by being competent and quick learning though he would grow a sense of entitlement that would clash against Tommy later down the line. As of now, Polly and Michael have splintered off from the Shelbys, leaving just Tommy, Arthur, Ada, and John as the main representatives of the Pantheon. Many in the divine realms were kept in the dark about how dysfunctional the family is, with most of the attention going to Tommy due to his exploits as the main man of the family as well as his endeavors in both the criminal and political game.
  • With their occupation, the Shelbys were more than well aware that they were going to be dealing with a number of crime families in the Pantheon, the question was how this was going to play out for them. One of the first was the DiMeo, which was a collection of Italian-American mobs led by Tony Soprano. Tommy was a bit apprehensive about them, especially considering his own experience in dealing with Italians, but Tony was willing to play the "good man" role to the Peaky Blinders for now, not intent on making enemies and troubling matters for himself. The two have different ways of dealing with criminal activities and Tommy was not keen on Tony's subordinates, especially seeing Paulie and Christopher as loose cannons to which Tony conceded. They did share a few mutual things, mainly their love for their direct relatives and an appreciation for horses, with Tony being surprised at how Tommy had a hand in organizing race courses for horses in England back in the 1920s. For now, their relationship is entirely professional and Tommy has made it clear he has no ill intent on Carmela, Meadow, and AJ, even if they can be annoying at times and Tony respects Tommy enough to consider doing trade business with him, though also being careful about selling drugs, given how Arthur can develop an addiction to them due to his troubling self-esteem.
  • With their occupation, the Shelbys would catch the attention of such crime lords like Wilson Fisk and Oswald Cobblepot. These two would provide the Shelbys with their introduction to the realm of superheroes and supervillains. Tommy and Arthur were a bit surprised to see their next generation take an interest in characters like Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man, noting the irony of how someone whom the family kids would appreciate would potentially be an opponent for the adults due to being gangsters. Kingpin and the Penguin were eager to hire Tommy for some alcohol shipments mainly because they saw Tommy as a great leader and soldier and that having someone who fought in WWI would provide a useful asset in their control regarding criminality. Tommy would only accept their offer if it means having his family given protection and money. His association with Penguin would lead Tommy to Gotham City, which he felt was even more stinky and grungy than the darkest parts of Birmingham. Strangely enough, his few visits to Gotham made him one of the more popular foreign gangsters due to his affability, leadership, and flexibility in getting his tasks done without angering law enforcement too much and keeping as much distance as he could from the Batfamily.
    • The Shelbys would learn about the feud between Gustavo Fring and the Salamancas, with Walter White joining in as a third party. There was some humor in that Kingpin and Penguin have hired all three sides and have asserted enough influence to at least make sure they don't end up fighting each other too many times and extend their casualties to countless innocents alongside themselves. Of the three, the Salamancas took the most interest, with Lalo taking it upon himself to meet with Tommy to talk about business plans and collaborations regarding alcohol and drug trading. Tommy refused, claiming that he has little interest in using drugs for his business and would rather keep his operations as legal as possible. He also figured that the Salamancas have a level of bloodlust that wouldn't mesh well with Tommy's thinking if they had to work together. He also found the three-way feud to be a waste, seeing Gus as being too vengeful and caustic to properly get along with, seeing through his friendly demeanor as the "Chicken Man" and Walt as a petty, bratty manchild who mainly wants to be cool and has made his opposition against them very clear. There is a personal reason in that Arthur would likely abuse meth upon gaining ownership of a collection of them, though Tommy hides his brotherly affection well enough that only very few are able to learn of it.
  • Suffice to say, the fact that some of their core members, particularly Polly and Ada, are more pessimistic about the brothers' criminal endeavors adds to the family's dysfunctional nature. As a result, they're frequently associated with the Hall of Family Dysfunctions, though given their circumstances, Tommy and Arthur are a bit hesitant about starting therapy, especially as the former makes it clear the reason he is workaholic is because having too much free time means fewer distractions for his PTSD wartime recollection to resurface and impede his mental health. Ada has made it clear that she would want a more independent life for herself and her children and is willing to start up her own business with some help but finds it conflicting that her brothers are always looking out for her out of Ada's safety. Despite their fearsome reputation, every member has a soft spot for children as well as a degree of respect for marriage and anyone in a stable, loving one. In fact, the brothers have a not-so-fearsome reputation for finding out Domestic Abusers and beating the snot out of them, so their reputation in the House of Family and Relatives is surprisingly tame for a crime family. They may be vicious and pretty brutal towards their enemies, but they have a code of honor and their presence there has helped in maintaining some sort of control over crime in that House. It should be noted that there's a fifth Shelby brother, Finn, but his reluctance to fight and kill and not being assertive and authoritative enough led to him getting exiled by Tommy's long-lost son, Duke, hence why he's not among the family to have ascended with them, though he's in the Pantheon as a distant herald of sorts.
    • The Heroic Protectors of Family aren't exactly optimistic about the Shelbys for obvious reasons, though their relationship is purely business at the moment, albeit an incredibly tense one. Tommy has taken it upon himself to ask them to look after the younger members of his family at times at the compensation of some regular residents of the House getting paid via charity donations. Although his stance was a stern one, he was genuine about his bargain, and the Heroic Protectors took the deal. They do have their grievances, particularly when Tommy killed a family group in retaliation for Ruby's death via a cursed sapphire that once belonged to his first wife, Grace and are wary of having to deal with him, given Tommy's willingness to kill anyone that dares to cross him. The Child Abuse Supporters once attempted to coax Tommy into a deal and alliance with the promise of more riches and resources, only to fall flat when their name made Tommy recoil and even point a gun at Lady Tremaine for even thinking about an alliance. He's dealt with an abusive father, which especially affected Arthur, and he's having none of it regarding abusive guardians, telling Tremaine and her supporters to take their beatings and stick it on themselves. Dreaded gangster and devious manipulator he may be, Tommy and Arthur despise familial abusers and are clear that not only are they welcome in their business, but anyone in their pay and employment who shows signs of said abusiveness would either get them fired or beaten under the order of the Peaky Blinders.
  • The Shelbys are not one for pity, but there have been a few times where this would play a feeling for a few figures in the Pantheon. On the subject of Walt, the Shelbys were interested in Jesse Pinkman, though Tommy quickly figured that he wouldn't make for a good subordinate due to his rebellious, loud-mouthed attitude. He was right, but Tommy still conceded that regardless, Jesse is a very capable worker and a good man, but any attempts to have a working relationship fell moot as Jesse has taken steps to distance himself from a criminal life, seeing as this, and Walt's manipulations, destroyed his past life and relationships. Tommy compared Jesse to Arthur, noting how similar they were, and sympathized with him on that front and understands why he would want nothing to do with the Shelbys. On the other hand, the Shelby Family dysfunctionality bought to mind Tohru Honda, who had to deal with and help out with the baggage of the Sohma Family as well as struggling with her own turbulence of being parentless and living in a tent, all whilst keeping up an optimistic outlook on life. As much as she would like to help them, Tohru feels intimidated by the idea of trying to help a crime family, especially one as big and influential as the Shelbys, and figures that the people in the family aren't bad, just mentally and emotionally damaged. Surprisingly, Arthur, of all people, appreciates Tohru's support and care as her open acts of kindness like giving out toys and food for the family kids and telling Arthur that he's not as bad as he or anybody else thinks. Still, she keeps some distance regarding a drunk Arthur, but it's clear that the Shelbys, Polly and Michael included are open and affable towards Tohru and generally are on speaking terms, even if she admits to being a bit scared about Tommy and being careful about pitying Polly.
  • The three older Shelby brothers fought during the Great War and predictably, they all came back with the psychological drama that plagues their minds for as long as they could. Many noted that Tommy used to be a much nicer and idealistic man before he enlisted in World War I and that the war shaped him into becoming the cold, stern, and often brutal pragmatist that he's become. Arthur cracked some jokes regarding how not much times haven't changed upon learning of World War II, The Cold War, and The Vietnam War, among others. They expressed some interest in those like John Rambo and Niko Bellic, two former soldiers whose experience in fighting in wars led to them developing PTSD and a sense of alienation for what they've participated in. They don't want anything to do with the Shelbys due to their ties to crime, but on a fortunate note, they are sympathetic towards Rambo and Bellic and would not antagonize them out of respect. Ted Striker's trauma of flying was ironic due to his occupation as a pilot, but the Shelbys still expressed their respect for keeping up with his job in spite of the baggage that came with his turmoil. Even when the brothers have some thrill-seeking regarding fights, they don't dare to be reminded of the House of Military and Warfare, though Tommy would only really visit it if it means getting weapons suppliance to further his organization's firepower in desperate situations.
  • Surprisingly, despite the reputation and infamy of their occupation, they're on good terms with the Hall of Ungulates. The Shelbys, especially Tommy, are openly fond of horses and find time to take care of them and even take part in hosting horseback riding contests, particularly Epsom Downs, which they did on Derby Day 1922. While there was a recorded instance where Tommy killed a horse, this was because the horse in question was gravely wounded and dying painfully, so Tommy opted to end its life as quickly as he could, clearly showing umbrage to his action. While Johnny Joestar would rather not get involved in the criminal life, Tommy and Arthur are generally rather complimentary of his reputation as a participant in Steel Ball Run and would like to see the young man participate in a race hosted by the Shelbys, albeit one where he doesn't have to use his Stand. The family also very much appreciated Black Beauty and they personally treated the horse very well in their first encounter, with Tommy even placing a bet that Black Beauty would win in a race and appreciating its regal, yet affable demeanor. The Mane Six were complicated as Arthur was perplexed at the idea of talking magical ponies, even describing their story as "friendship, and more fucking friendship to down someone". The ponies, especially Fluttershy, were intimidated by Tommy's cold, icy stare when they first encountered each other, but otherwise don't hate each other, especially as the sextet would have been someone Tommy's late daughter, Ruby, would have very much enjoyed being friends with and they take pity in Tommy losing his child, though they would never bring this matter up near him. The Houyhnhnms were the one sort of horses that the Shelbys came to actually hate, though that's because of their own misanthropic view towards humanity and then labeling the family as a reason for why humans are inherently bad, with Arthur calling them "high rise, pompous wankers for horses", and Tommy would just not want anything to do with them as being enemies with them would amount to nothing for him and his family.
  • Being a politician only furthers Tommy reputation as a skilled and magnetic manipulator and strategist to the point where he's been in contact with Winston Churchill before his time as prime minister, an opportunity that bolstered his influence and popularity. Tommy is a shrewd, conniving politician, willing to skirt the lines of corruption, bribery, and extortion if it means dealing with his enemies in the long game and developing his resources for the future. While most are unaware of the true depths of depravity Frank Underwood had strewn during his time as a president of the United States, Tommy is one of the few to know of such and was rather very quick in learning about this. Frank admits to respecting Tommy's cold and stern expressions mingling with his ferocious thinking, deceptive ploys, and willingness to shed blood, but otherwise, the two don't get along as Tommy was disgusted by Frank's career as president and felt like he was a threat to his political power. Lex Luthor was more complicated; while mainly a businessman with criminal ties, he was US president at one point and is very open about making ends meet with anybody so long as they benefitted him in some way. Like Frank, Lex was praiseworthy of Tommy's more unscrupulous qualities and was a man whose extreme popularity and appeal in the Pantheon greatly blanketed his true nature as a supervillain. Tommy and Lex have a business partnership involving gun trading and alcohol distribution, though Lex sees Tommy as a useful man to further his influence in the divine realms. Tommy is aware of Lex's true nature but is willing to play along with the billionaire villain so that he could find other means to provide for his family and gang whilst keeping suspicions at the LexCorp CEO from time to time. Though the less said about the Shelby kids being a bit fascinated with Superman, the better. Given how he had to deal with Oswald Moseley and the British Union of Fascists, Tommy's not fond of Nazis either, though that's mainly because he thinks racial superiority doesn't work well with his business practices and the idea of Nazism becoming powerful would go against everything Tommy and his family had built up.
  • Much like anyone from the old times, the Shelbys were surprised to see how London and, by extension, the United Kingdom had changed over the years. It took some time to get used to new everyday things like televisions, computers, phones, and more advanced cars. Regardless, the family was quick to adapt with Tommy figuring that he couldn't possibly consign himself exclusively to Victorian London where crimes were too rampant and the criminal underbelly there too violent and disarrayed to properly do business or seek alliances with. While the new sorts of technology seemed impressive and immersive, it didn't take long for Tommy to realize that dealing with them would be a detriment; there were more chances for visual evidence, and police and rival gangs would want to use said tech to put a stop to the Shelbys and the Peaky Blinders however way they want, forcing him to learn and adapt, which he did rather quickly for a man of his time. Outside of updated technology, the UK has been a lot cleaner with a boom in immigrants and much of it sporting various landmarks and attractions. For one, Arthur and John enjoy taking the family kids to the London Eye as well as any fun fairs they could find.
  • Just as much as abusers, the Shelbys are not nice towards rapists either, which is especially apparent when Polly and Michael themselves became victims of sexual abuse, especially the latter when he was a child. Needless to say, they got their revenge on those who violated them, including a corrupt police officer from Belfast for Polly and a priest from the Economic League for Michael. Said people were already bitter enemies with the Shelbys as they were an obstacle against their ambitions and were willing to destroy and kill anyone who stood in the way of their goals. While neither is willing to discuss their experiences for obvious reasons, Polly will lash out at whoever tries to pity her, even if it's for other grievances. There are victims like Helena Bertinelli, who was descended from a mafia family herself and while she's not in alignment with crime, she can relate to Polly's struggles, and there are those like Ellen and Sakura Matou who share their sentiment and Sakura herself being able to lash out at her aggressor at one point, albeit at the cost of losing her sanity as Dark Sakura for some time. Polly knows that there are victims of sexual abuse like she was, but that hardly matters; she would rather talk about her plans, goals, and her son than anything else, though she does admit to feeling pity for Tess Durbeyfield and the two are on speaking terms, even if they would never talk about their story of defilement. On a general note, the Shelbys were annoyed at how there were a number of rapists in one of the Houses they have their Domain set in, though there were just as many who were opposed to it, like them. Rapists are one of those types of people who are strictly forbidden to work for the Peaky Blinders and their members are not hesitant about killing them should they ever find out about one.
  • The family is infamous for being a magnet for bad luck, which Tommy is aware of and despises this fact. Simply put, nearly anyone who gets involved with Tommy or the Peaky Blinders will either die or have their lives ruined. The fact that his daughter caught tuberculosis due to a curse from a sapphire that Grace had and her death, later on, doesn't help matters either. This has caused the family to be quite angsty when it comes to starting relationships of any kind other than for business reasons, which is carried over in the Pantheon. Their circumstances with bad luck are similar to that of Qrown Branwen and Milo Murphy's, although the Shelbys have less luck in confronting their grievances and suffer more from it, plus they are not ones to take pity, even if Qrow and Milo feel a bit sympathetic for them despite their occupation as heroes. Tommy's luck with love is also a faltering one, having lost his first love to illness shortly after he came back embittered from WWI, seeing his first wife take a bullet for him, and cheating on his second wife Lizzie to alleviate his own stress and past grievances. He's been seen in the Hall of Romantic Loss where he calmly orders a cup of tea to reminisce about his past, though he'll sometimes bring Arthur, Ada, or some of his most trusted followers along to have proper conversations that don't involve getting drunk. Despite being a criminal leader, Tommy respects the staff and gives them a decent tip for their services. Still, his infamy assures that his presence commands a sense of fear and wariness towards any other visitors, and it's best not to bring about the subject of his first lover and his first wife.
  • Although they are one of the most successful gangsters of the 20th Century, the Shelbys do admit that balancing out their legitimate businesses and the Peaky Blinders has been a mammoth task they've struggled to deal with, and much of its success could be attributed to Tommy. The Shelbys have a hand in gin distribution, which made them a recurring supplier for the Hall of Alcohol and manufacturing motors. Their high business rate has allowed the company to be given recognition in the Houses of Commerce and Jobs and Profession where they've steadily become a bit more financially larger thanks to the increased standards of money rate. Although the Shelbys and their companies are larger and richer than ever, Tommy still intends on playing things safe; the Pantheon is an unfamiliar and unpredictable world after all and he's careful about what alliances and connections he's going to need. He's leading a gang organization after all and that makes things more complicated. Tommy also has to contend with how some see gangsters like him as being really cool and he'd rather not get tangled with wannabes, but so far, he's done pretty well in keeping his business and gang afloat and while there are some who oppose him due to his occupation and mental ferocity, the Peaky Blinders are going strong and his family is doing well despite their losses, and that's enough to keep him satisfied for now.

proposal time! two deities from OMORI:

  • OMORI for Main Character Final Boss

    • Reasoning: Omori is the titular character of his game, and the one the player controls in Headspace, but at the very end of the Sunny route, he is revealed to be the final boss; a representation of Sunny’s depression, suicidal ideation, and unwillingness to accept the truth behind Mari’s death. I know that the OMORI friend group is already in the Pantheon, but Omori himself is distinct enough from Sunny to merit a separate profile. It’s worth mentioning that Omori and Sunny are one and the same, and at the end of the battle, whether you choose to succumb or get back up determines which side of him the boy accepts.

  • Mari for either Dead All Along or Staircase Tumble

    • Reasoning: Mari is Sunny’s older sister, who appears frequently in Headspace with her picnic set up; she’s the equivalent of a Save Point and place to heal the party. However, the first sequence of Faraway Town during “Three Days Left” reveals that Mari is actually dead, having been accidentally killed by Sunny by getting pushed down the stairs. Her death serves as a catalyst for the whole story of OMORI, from the creation of Headspace to the state the friend group is in 4 years later.

Any reason why Sergeant Cyrus (Dawn of War 2) was removed?

He was arguably among the very best examples of Difficult, but Awesome.

Mercilessly unforgiving learning curve. Most powerful character in the game by a very wide margin when played correctly. Game-Breaker class power level. Even compared to the more easily learned conventionally overpowered Captain Thule (Dreadnaught).

To provide an example, Cyrus is able to solo entire maps by himself….in a real time strategy game. A very fast paced one at that. This also includes being able to solo the game’s Super Boss at the end of the game’s most difficult map.

I previously got my reasoning for the King of Seals approved, but I'm finding it hard to write a draft for him because he's a very minor character, and there's not much to work with.

Instead, for this post I have ideas for two different reasonings:

The Greedy, the Perpetually Protean God

Reasoning: The Greedy is a vast, sentient lake of taffy, candies, and other sweets. He frequently rises up from the lake in a variety of forms that sometimes like like an obese humanoid, but other times just look like melting blobs. The Greedy can't hold a single form for more than a few seconds before he collapses back into the lake that is his body.

King Koo Koo, God of the Inflating Body Gag

Reasoning: King Koo Koo is a small, humanoid... thing who is highly resentful of his diminuitive stature. When he laughs at the expense of someone else, one part of his body inflates (such as his head, ear, feet, etc.) In the climax, he laughs so hard, and for so long, that his whole body inflates to enormous size. He is then popped (and presumably killed) by a parrot's beak.

What more should I add to Chronos? Anyone else who shares a similar or rival role? Anyone knowlegable about Orphic cults?

  • Mixed on: S.E.E.S., The Investigation Team, Rei, The Empty
  • Before even the Titans were the Protogenoi, or primordials. While some like Gaea or Nyx are well-documented, there are other more obscure Greek primordials. And yet one is at least clearly defined by their role. Chronos is the Greek god of time, or perhaps more accurately is time. The imagery of Chronos by Renaissance artists is where the bearded old visage of Father Time comes from. He is often confused with the Titan Cronus to the point of being combined, but Chronos is far greater in power than any Titan could be. Originally he was a more important figure in Orphic tradition, and it is perhaps only there where you can find a depiction of his consort Ananke; the incarnation of necessity. He is also known as Aeon or Aion.
  • Chronos emerged from the shadows of obscurity to the Battlefield of the Gods, clad in Clock Punk and blue skin. As time itself, he will outlast everything, so there is no sense of urgency within Chronos; he is but an observer unless he's to be defied, but is fine throwing hands if needed. However he came to see the trope as "so...limiting" and instead sought the defining trope of Father Time. He is otherwise almost never involved with the shenanigans of his pantheon...probably because he doesn't know where he stands. In Orphic tradition he and Ananke are the ancestors of everything; Chaos itself is his and Ananke's child. Or is he the scion of Hydros and Gaea? Is Nyx's husband Erebus his child? Did he father Hemera on Nyx? It's said even he doesn't know due to The Fog of Ages.
  • When he came to change the trope, an even more obscure being called Zurvan challenged him for the role. However, Chronos has pantheon seniority so the dispute was quickly solved by making them his high priest. In part, this was to keep an eye on Zurvan's children. According to Zurvanism sect, they sought to have Ahura Mazda to rule but Angra Mainyu exploited Exact Words of the firstborn ruling to burst out of their womb and rule. Chronos rightly sees the God of Evil as a danger and supports his high priest setting a time limit to Ahrima's reign, so he has been supporting Ahura Mazda. Outside of this, Chronos doesn't care for the conflict between good or evil, boasting "good and evil may see like they will fight forever, but I am that forever. And I shall be after this conflict has long since lost any relevance or meaning".
  • Some old beliefs have stated that Chronos is actually a serpent with heads of a human, a bull and a lion. Where Chronos has not said anything on this, he might have chosen this form so that he wouldn't scare every one. Some people say that he was once kidnapped to serve the Hellbourne in the Forests of Caldavar, emulating the style of Darkterror, the Faceless Void. Chronos remarks that this "Chronos" does have interesting abilities, but they are not the same. Otherwise, he'd be using the experience he had in Caldavar and be goddamn OP in the Battlefield of the Gods... And he already has, given enough time. More importantly, he is not Cronus, a mistake so common even Zeus has gotten into squabbles with him about. Chronos isn't fond of the similarly named Titan for giving him a bad image.
  • He and Eros don't get along. Chronos was at first a tad annoyed at the claims Eros was a Protogenoi. The Protogenoi of Time initially let that slide maybe Hesoid felt there could be two Eros (a primordial to explain how the other primordials boned and a more well-known god of love) and he suffered from mistaken identity too, however that peace ended when Eros said he clipped his wings, and he won't forgive him for that. Chronos has tried to clear his name by claiming that "Time Clipping Cupid's Wings" was the 17th century's equivalent of a photo shoot and is meant to demonstrate time's effect on love. This hasn't helped their relationship and they're still on bad terms since Eros used his words to give him a bad image in the House of Love and Affection. Well, more like he tried, but Chronos sees that as an insult anyway.
  • A weaker incarnation of Chronos exists in the Supernatural universe, though the ascended Chronos believe this form is an unlicensed replica by Chuck Shurley. Compared to some of those that the boys faced he wasn't that bad, only demanding Human Sacrifice to counter-act Power Incontinence so he may stay with the woman he loves. Chronos has a more genuine incarnation that happens to take the form of a cute anime girl, where she goes by Cro. Given the scope of his power, one wonders if the father of the Endless, Time, is actually just Chronos without bothering to take a deific name. To this, the primordial has said "no, not quite, but I am interested in them". The primordial deity is especially fond of Destiny, as the Fates in mythology are sometimes his offspring.
  • Chronos tends to work with those who maintain the nature of time, and there are multiple beings in charge of specifically that. He muses if he and they are all derived from some meta-divine, omniversal principle, and if so that might explain some of the inconsistencies in his own lore. Dialga is the Pokémon of time, who the Protogenoi sees as his Mon counterpart. He is quite interested in Dialga's creator Arceus, a God-esque Maker who came from the Cosmic Egg...it reminds him of his maybe-scion Phanes. Arceus has told Dialga to take more notes from deities like Chronos and share the role of Father Time. Clockwork is a ghost who represents the same concept as Chronos, close enough that they believe each other are somehow alternate selves.
  • Perhaps his strongest ally is an aspect of Yog-Sothoth, Afrogomon. The Outer God's objectives and motivations are hard for even he to get a read on, but in that avatar it is opposed to the violation of time's laws. Ironic given what its Great Intelligence Avatar planned. Clara is still enraged by Yog-Sothoth as a whole, but that doesn't carry over to Chronos; he doesn't like her defiance of the possible but recognizes the necessity of spreading herself across the Doctor's timeline; he'd like to apologize if she feels offended by his alliance with the Key and the Gate. Yog-Sothoth has "permitted" (or perhaps simply gravitated to the idea of) the Hounds of Tindalos to serve as pets. Chronos muses that they are closer to "wild gods", but still useful.
  • With fate being absolute in Greek myth, one of few things Chronos did not see coming when he ascended to the Trope Pantheon was the existence of time paradoxes. Needless to say, he is not fond of said paradoxes. He dreads Lord English' exploitation of the Stable Time Loop as he is so powerful as to threaten even Chronos himself; he's that overpowered. The Vex aspire to be just as if not more powerful, and already have notable time manipulation powers. Dr Nefarious aspires to use Chronos to achieve his goal of making a reality where the heroes always lose, and N.Tropy seeks supremacy over time. Such goals will not stand as far as Chronos is concerned. He won't stand the Time Eater's existence either. Solaris is perhaps worst, being a super-dimensional entity who tried to devour and annihilate all possible timelines. As Chronos is time personified, he is one of few beings fully capable of fighting him without assistance of items like the Chaos Emeralds.
  • Unless you attempt to violate the laws of time, or work to support them, Chronos will rarely interact. Even more so than Nyx he is a true neutral among the Protogenoi, and of the Greek deities he only feels much kinship with said Protogenoi. He is somewhat upset by there no decent representations of his maybe child Chaos. Amatsu-Mikaboshi states they are precursors to Chronos, which the Greek god disagrees with by pointing out that there have been multiple Cosmoses in Marvel cosmology and they may simply have emerged in-between Cosmoses (plus the Chaos King is still but an aspect of greater Oblivion). Also, the Chaos King's goal of destroying the multiverse would risk Father Time becoming a redundant force. The Empty lacks such insane desires, and might be closer to the void-like concept of Greek Chaos, but it's pretty cranky when not asleep and keeps boasting about predating everything, Chronos included. Still, it is closer to the concept so Chronos has some good words on the entity.
  • Chronos is not one known for his wrath. He is annoyed by accusations he is surprisingly fragile, as he can just rewind time to put himself back together. But Rassilon has earned his wrath. It was bad enough that he would try to ensure supremacy over time, which is hubristic but not that awful to someone Above Good and Evil like Chronos. No, he had led the Time Lords in betraying their own ethos in a hell-war with the Daleks, injuring time, with his final means of winning being to destroy time itself so he and his loyal acolytes could transcend cause and effect. Yeah; there's a reason why Rassilon is not "Time's Champion". The Doctor definitely deserves a lot of praise from the time deity, however, though Chronos prefers to act as a Greater-Scope Paragon to the renegade.
  • The "sort of canon to the Whoniverse" entity Grandfather Paradox is one of Chronos' greatest enemies, as his existence is one big mockery to the concept of time. However Chronos' most meaningful rival may be Kronika, Titan of Time, as she is what he would become if he abused his job. While Chronos is content being time incarnate and doesn't feel strongly about lesser beings, her overseeing the timelines gradually drove her mad and she became a Control Freak. She believes that he's grown lazy and allowed madness and chaos within his pantheon, and he believes contrary to her claims she has allowed her emotions to get the best of her. To never become like Kronika, Chronos has sworn an oath to never pursue either her Hourglass, or the Throne; what he has now is enough. He has informed Liu Kang that he will be watching his career with great interest and has advised him one thing; never let the job get to your head.
  • Has stopped covering up his involvement in the Persona universe, since by now everyone knows his form as the Clockwork God. There he holds domain over not only time, but death as well and he helps souls to the afterlife. Chronos used the members of S.E.E.S. and the Investigation Team as pawns to free him so that he can become whole by combining with Zen. Where the two teams defeated him and the fragment of him went to the afterlife, he doesn't feel that strong of hatred for them.

Here's some reworks i got in mind:

  • The Goombas for, well, The Goomba: The obvious trope namers, Goombas are the series resident starter enemy, whose sole abilities consist of slowly walking in a straight line and dying to a single hit from anything. The original profile has little text in it and is overall underdeveloped.

  • Kracko for Cumulonemesis: One of the most recurring bosses in Kirby's roster, Kracko is a sentient, evil cloud with a grudge against Kirby, often forming just to try and kill him. Naturally, his abilities consist of various cloud-related attacks, alongside the ability to reform after being beaten as long as there's clouds in the sky. Again, his profile has numerous underdeveloped texts and interactions.

IMO, Omori and the Headspace versions of Sunny's allies are ok as they are, fused with the existing profile for the real world versions of them. [tup] to Mari getting Staircase Tumble though, as she's distant enough from the main group due to catching a unfortunate case of death to work alone.

[down]

True, but who said the existing profile can't be reworked to include them? Omori and Sunny reconcile at the end of the story, so it wouldn't be too strange of a decision.

I got a couple more myth reworks. Speak up if you want to do them instead

  • Hermes, God of Winged Clothing (Hall of Wings and Feathers)-a rework. First off, I feel going by Mercury is more of a leftover from focusing on Smite. And as he is, Hermes's profile isn't that developed and some of the stuff could be condensed. Hermes fits Mercury's Wings because he is the speedster of the Olympians, a Lovable Rogue who has winged sandals allowing him to be so fast. His helmet often has those wings too
  • Eris, Goddess of Spreading Disharmony: I know Double Trouble has Apple of Discord but they also have Liminal Being. Eris' current trope of Evil Slinks is only applicable to her Dreamworks incarnation and I would rather her get a more expansive Composite Character treatment like most of her Greek contemporaries. Also her current profile is woefully underdeveloped. Why this trope? Eris is the goddess of discord and her main role in mythology is "do something that mucks stuff up". She's the Greater-Scope Villain of the Trojan War because she set up a competition over a golden apple between goddesses, which escalated

  • Peppino Spaghetti was a seemingly ordinary, middle-aged, portly Italian chef, working at his failing restaurant — Peppino's Pizzeria — when a floating pizza referred to as Pizzaface floated over to threaten to blow up his establishment with a giant laser mounted on a tall and purple tower: the Pizza Tower. Without much choice — and despite his abject terror — the Italian chef made his way to the origins of this mysterious pizza, alongside Gustavo and Mr. Stick, tracking him back to the Pizza Tower. After some time had passed, lots of effort was put forth, and a climactic battle took place at the top, the tower collapsed, with the chef — and several other characters following closely behind — escaping the structure's destruction, and not only did Peppino make it out with enough money to pay off his debts, but he also saved the life of the one suffering most from the Pizza Tower: Pillar John, who was forced to hold up the entire tower himself (alongside clones that Pizzahead (the mastermind behind Pizzaface) made of him to hold up each level of the Tower).
  • One day, Peppino got a call for a delivery of pizza with some...rather unusual toppings. Even more unusual was that they told him to "enter the portal" to get to the right address. He spotted said portal half a mile away from his establishment. Apprehensively, he mounted his moped, loaded the ordered pizzas, and sped through the portal. All the insanity he experienced in the Pizza Tower didn't prepare him for the Pantheon. After he picked his jaw up off the floor, he followed the instructions he was given and found himself delivering the pizzas to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He had several questions about this place; Leonardo directed him to the Main House, telling him they could explain it better than he could. Sure enough, Peppino had his questions about the Pantheon answered, and in the process, it had been noticed how expressive — and Italian — he was. They proposed that he have a spot here in the Pantheon, promising that he'd still be able to go back to his hometown whenever he wanted.
Peppino: ...Y'know what? Why not. More customers for Peppino is all that-a means.
    • As a result, Peppino's Pizzeria was declared to be the chef's temple, with a new door installed leading directly to the Pantheon. Of course, he's usually busy at his Pizzeria, occasionally having to deliver his pizzas via moped (because no matter how speedy he is — and he's surprisingly speedy for someone of his stature and weight — his legs need to rest at times).
  • Not long after he was properly settled into the Pantheon, Peppino was accosted by Wario, who was impressed with how fast the chef was in his adventure. To the greedy treasure hunter, it reminded him of his times adventuring the lands and taking its treasures before WarioWare Inc. made him more than enough money that he could retire. Now that Peppino had reestablished his Pizzeria in the Pantheon, Wario decided to help him by teaching him about how to make more money than he did back at home, though it's unclear whether it's truly to help him out or if it's to make Peppino a Worthy Opponent to himself.
  • Madeline made her way to Peppino's Pizzeria after a particularly tough mountain she conquered. While she awaited her pizza, she decided to ask about his adventure, hearing a little bit about his trek up the Pizza Tower. Peppino obliged, and not sugarcoating his story, told her about the foes he had faced going up the tower and the treasures he had found. She was surprised to hear how his entire adventure only took about two hours, deciding to tell her story about her trek. The Italian Chef was impressed with her prowess, even if she looked ordinary. On occasion, Peppino follows Madeline on her expeditions, their maneuvering styles allowing them to race up to the tops of peaks.
  • Unlike many, Peppino actually doesn't mind having pineapples on his pizza, whether he's serving such pizza to others or having some himself. While it's not uncommon for people to politely decline having pineapples, one particularly dangerous individual, Ghiaccio, absolutely abhors pineapples on pizza. Hell, as far as he's concerned, Peppino's Pizzeria is a stain on Italian pride because of this, not even bothering to order Pizza Margherita — the "one true pizza", according to him — from his restaurant. Another particularly picky customer is Beerus, who is confounded as to why a fruit such as pineapple is allowed on a pizza, though unlike the Passione mobster, the God of Destruction is satisfied with just having a loaded meat pizza.
  • Due to the experiences of Pizza Tower, specifically with one of the areas hosting an abandoned pizzeria with killer animatronic monsters, hearing about the Animatronics from Fazbear's Pizza roaming the Pantheon exasperated Peppino instead of filling him with dread. Before he could grab a shotgun from the House of Weapons to dismantle the Fazbear animatronics, Mike Schmidt intervened, telling him why they are the way they are. Unsurprisingly, the story made the chef go pale, and his ire is now directed towards the perpetrator instead. Either way, Peppino was perfectly willing to be banned from watching the animatronics due to his literal gung-ho nature with his shotgun.
  • While he hasn't any need to worry about the Noise, hearing about the Noid caused him to swap between hysteria to fury every few seconds. Sometimes, when he's doing a delivery, he has the displeasure of encountering the Domino's anti-mascot, and he has to fight tooth and nail to keep him from ruining the pizza he's trying to deliver. Fortunately, Peppino fights so fiercely, the Noid backs off pretty quickly, but the little red-garbed gremlin keeps trying every time Peppino delivers. The Noid works hard to attempt to ruin pizza, but it seems Peppino's Pizza is about as difficult for him to wreck as Domino's, more due to Peppino's aggressive defense rather than the strategies Domino's employs. For this reason, the Noid and Peppino are bitter enemies.
  • Peppino and Sonic finally met in the Pantheon, the chef feeling sheepish for not coming to SAGE (the Sonic Amateur Game Expo, instead going to Snick's SAGE). Sonic was more than a bit bemused to see how fast the Italian Chef can go and keep on going, walls be damned. He didn't get a straight answer as to HOW he's able to go so fast, either; when pressed, Wario (who happened to be passing by) leaned over and boasted that Peppino "learned from the best".
  • One day, when Peppino had gotten done delivering for a pizza party in the House of Sports, he slipped on something — nobody remembers what — and landed in a basketball cart. The next thing he knew, he was grabbed by a very large hand, changing him into his Ball Form! It seems that one of the Monstars — who were playing nearby — reached into the cart without looking and grabbed him, mistaking him for a basketball. Poor Peppino was bounced around for a whole minute before they realized their mistake. As the Monstars sheepishly apologized to the very dazed chef, everyone discussed what they just saw. It seemed that, also like Wario, Peppino could transform via suffering misfortune, and considering what he could potentially experience in the Pantheon — not to mention the fact that Peppino is a Toon — there are likely more forms he could end up taking that he hadn't in the Pizza Tower.
    • He isn't the only one who had spent time as a ball; Kirby had been cursed once or twice to be stuck in a spherical form. He found Peppino in his ball form at another point and got excited. From there, Peppino got properly introduced to the lil' puffball. He's happy to feed Kirby, so long as the latter doesn't ask for a LOT of pizza; Peppino has his work cut out for him as is.
    • One transformation at his disposal is his Ghost Form; if he is scared badly enough to force his soul to leave his body — i.e. at the metaphorical hands of the Mushroom Ghosts in the Pizza Tower — he turns into a ghost that, given enough ghost peppers, can move fast enough and with enough force to damage foes and smash through metal boxes. This has caught Spooky's attention; she believes he would make a fine addition to her ghost army.
      • On the subject of Peppino and ghosts, it seems Peppino was able to defeat a ghost in the Pizza Tower with just a pistol! The Ghostbusters have made a note to keep him in mind for this reason. On a similar note, with power granted to him by the Priests in the Pizzascare level, Peppino could take out other ghosts, something that exorcists like Fathers Karras and Merrin have taken notice of...
    • While traversing the Pizza Tower, Peppino would sometimes find a sword — well, scratch that, a knife — embedded in a stone. He was able to pull this knife out, and whenever he did, a bolt of lightning would hit him and change him into his knife form. His armor was cumbersome and ill-fitting — he couldn't move his arms to use the knife, and if he stepped on an incline, he'd slide down it — but he was able to double-jump in that thing (an ability he otherwise lacked, unless you count his spinning uppercut as an extra jump), and he was invincible. When Pizzahead tried to pull this knife out, all he accomplished was pulling a chunk of the level it was sitting in up with it — it would seem that whatever qualities Peppino had, Pizzahead lacked. This similarity to the Sword in the Stone caught the attention of both King Arthur and Artoria, making them wonder if Peppino would be able to use Excalibur if he needed to...
    • Spicy enough food causes Peppino's mouth to light on fire; this form is referred to as Firemouth Peppino. REALLY spicy food — such as the Pepper Pizza (or the "Satan's Choice Pizza") he found in the Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator (the Pizza Tower's giant freezer) — turns his skin red and makes him invincible, as well as giving him a special spinning jump, all the while spewing flames. Chief Wiggum has expressed curiosity as to what the Guatemalan Doom Pepper would do to Peppino...
  • Some were surprised to find that Peppino does play video games, and he seems to favor strategy games (which makes sense; a strategic mind can be helpful in running a restaurant). He has bonded with fellow strategy game enthusiast Malina over this, often setting aside time playing co-op with, or competing against, each other in such games.
    • One genre of games he doesn't ever play is first-person shooters, especially Team Fortress 2, which apparently hit too close to home for him. When he found that most of the actual playable characters of that game (plus some NPCs) were in the Pantheon, he timidly turned around and ran. He has avoided the mercs ever since.
      • When we say that first-person shooters hit too close to home, we're referring to him possibly being a war veteran. We say "possibly", because someone had claimed that he "probably imagined the whole thing". Whether they were referring to his wartime experiences or whatever happened in the WAR level of the Pizza Tower was not clear. Either way, he seems to prefer to stay away from the House of Military and Warfare.
      • The possibility of him being a Phony Veteran has gotten the attention of Coach Oleander, who is baffled at how — if Peppino's status as a war veteran really is false — the chef can genuinely believe he's a war vet; Olly is at least self-aware on that front. One person pointed out the possibility that Peppino was in the army, but in a role that kept him within his side's camp rather than being on the front lines. The jury is still out on Peppino's status as a veteran, but Oleander is curious, either way.
  • Another thing about him that seems to surprise people is that despite his pudgy figure, he is a skilled dancer, even able to breakdance at a moment's notice. It seems that, when he is particularly angry (usually from knocking down at least 50 enemies in a row), he does some kind of "angry dance". Moe Szyslak noticed how familiar this dance looked, and was rather baffled, as he had no recollection of Peppino ever attending one of his "Funk Dancing for Self-Defense" classes.
  • Peppino has found himself relating to other nervous wrecks like Hitori Gotoh and Cindy Cimolestes, but Hitori is too anxious to even think of socializing with anyone outside of her friend group, and Cindy is usually very scared of those who are bigger than her, which tends to be a lot of people in the Pantheon, including Peppino. The pizza chef respectfully, and understandingly, gives each of them their space.
  • One trend that confuses the Italian Chef is all the title cards that have him paired up with a myriad of characters all across fiction. To his knowledge, the only reason Mort the Chicken was at Fun Farm was because he just so happened to choose it as his residence during the chef's adventure, said chicken dragging him around to dictate where he was going to go.
    • Another one that confuses him is when people peg different characters to be related to him — such as Kobeni (Hitori Gotoh's high priestess) being his daughter and Madeline being his niece — or when people ship him with certain characters — such as Modeus of the Helltaker's harem. That last one was especially uncomfortable for him, while Modeus — of course — is curious; it wouldn't be the first time she flirted with a pizza deliveryman...not that the more responsible members of the aforementioned harem will allow it.
