Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

As the one who founded the Pantheonic Soldiers of Fortune page, I feel like there's a significant amount of mercenaries with varying inclinations in it to just be reduced to one part of the future Miscellaneous Groups and Organization page, but I'll see how much content can be squeezed in it before judging if it still warrants its own page. Besides, Hired Guns are not strictly tied to battle, though it could certainly use more entries if I want that to happen. I have The Pied Piper of Hamelin in there, and he's no fighter.

In any case, since I'm officially (re)working the Animorphs, what do I do again to say that I wish to rework the Escafil Device?

[down]Okay. That's why I said "I'll see how much content can be squeezed in it before judging if it still warrants its own page".

Just saying, some members listed in the groups/factions/alliances don't have their profiles anymore, removed either because of a short profile or replaced. To assume that a faction/alliance will stay as they are is too optimistic.

Sunny of the SandWings, Goddess of Oblivious Hybrids (Beetle, Princess Sunny)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sunny_21.png

  • Rank: Lesser God
  • Areas: Hall of Character Reveals and Hybrid Beings
  • Symbol: The Eye of Onyx
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • High priests: Kharg and Darc
  • Domains: Hybrids, prophecies, fire, deserts
  • Portfolio: Her friends think she Cannot Keep a Secret, Everyone's Baby Sister, The Ingenue, smarter than she looks, Wide-Eyed Idealist, doesn't have Hybrid Power, The So-Called Coward, broken cutie, can breathe fire
  • Allies: Spyro, Hiccup and Toothless
  • Enemies: All evil dragons
  • Fears: The Monster Hunters, the Dovahkiin, Dragonslayer Ornstein
  • As a war raged between the dragon tribes of Pyrrhia, the Talons of Peace received a prophecy instructing them to find five dragon eggs due to hatch on the same day, and raise them to end the war. Unlike most of the desert-dwelling SandWings, Sunny doesn't have a venomous tail barb, her scales are golden instead of pale yellow, and her eyes are green instead of black. Her caretakers assumed she was deformed because she was hatched in a cave instead of beneath the scorching sun. However, as the War of SandWing Succession draws to a close, she meets her mother, Thorn, who's looking for a NightWing (the most elusive dragon tribe) named Stonemover. When Sunny asks her why, Thorn reveals that he's Sunny's father, who left her one day and never returned. Thorn didn't like other NightWings, so she buried Sunny's egg in the desert in hopes that they wouldn't take her. Unfortunately for her, the prophecy said the SandWing egg was "hidden away", so the Talons of Peace took it instead.
  • [Ascension story goes here.]
  • Sunny tries to see the good in dragonkind, so naturally the first place she visited after her ascension was the Hall of Dragons. The first member she met was Spyro, who she found annoying at first, but came to respect him when she learned he saved his species many times over. She's curious as to how he gained his various Breath Weapons; the dragons in her world only have one at most. She later tried to reason with its eviler members such as Grima, Smaug, and Sindragosa despite their terrifying appearances, only to be distraught when she ''couldn't. On a lighter note, she's curious about how the Pantheon's various human/dragon hybrids such as Jake Long, Corrin, and Eight came to be.
  • The war started in the first place because a group of scavengers (AKA humans) killed Queen Oasis of the SandWings. Since princesses can only take the throne by killing their mother in most of the dragon kingdoms, and she had three daughters, a Succession Crisis ensued. As a result, Sunny is wary of any humans that kill dragon-like creatures, such as the Monster Hunters, the Dovahkiin, and Ornstein. However, she finds other humans cute. Hiccup reminds her of the teenagers who helped her end the war, though she's not sure why Toothless hasn't spoken to her yet. Is he shy?

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/63715099_8963.gif
  • Rank: Demigod (Quasideity most of the time, Lesser God after taking the Magic Potion, but also has the ability to generate rain when he sings).
  • Symbol: His Lyre.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good.
  • Portfolio: The Bard, Brown Note, Dreadful Musician, Rain Dance, Schoolmarm, Nice Guy, Butt-Monkey,
  • Domains: Musicality, Weather, Teachers, Fantastical Jobs
  • Heralds: Justforkix,
  • Allies: Asterix, Obelix, Chief Vitalstatistix (his village's Chief), Leliana, Chaotix, good teachers
  • Rivals: Music Meister
  • Enemies: Julius Caesar, Zinyak all deities that hate music, any deity that uses music for evil, all deities that think his music is dreadful such as Tintin and [[Pantheon/Alcohol Captain Haddock]] all evil teachers.

  • Cacofonix is Asterix's village's bard, schoolteacher and a member of the Village's Council along with Getafix and Chief Vitalstatistix. He likes to sing, and thinks he's a genius singer, but the other villagers know he is a Dreadful Musician and only like him when he doesn't sing. When he sings he drives away all the local animals, any patrolling Romans, and causes storms. The villagers sometimes shut Cacofonix up with a hammer or a "fresh" fish; he only complains if they do it when he didn't intend to sing.
  • One day, after a meeting of the Village Council in Vitalstatistax's temple, Cacofonix came across a tree with a temple at the top. It reminded him of his own house on top of a tree and he decided to take a look, and move in. Afterwards, he got an invite to perform in front of the musicians of the Pantheon Cacofonix was told that it was for the position of the God of bards, however the truth was that it was to see if Cacofonix's singing was bad enough to qualify for the position of dreadful musician. Cacofonix started to sing a song and by the time he had finished singing there was a thunderstorm inside the House of Music and everyone ran away from the house. All the musicians gods agreed to make him the god of dreadful musician and soundproof his temple.
  • Asterix and Obelix went to congratulate him on joining the Pantheon, but Obelix accidentally pushed down his tree down destroying his temple. Cacofonix was angry because he wasn't even singing. While his temple was being replaced he went out to the House of Trees and Flowers.
  • Cacofonix sometimes goes into the woods in the house of Trees and Flowers for Inspiration. He has also been seen in the house of School teaching lessons except for music because of the fact that Cacofonix is a Dreadful Musician.

  • Allies:
  • Enemies: Herself (or rather, her cursed arm), the more hostile & malicious deities from the House of Beasts And Fauna (including Chantel DuBois & The Dovahkiin), Tanya Von Degurechaff, Bibliomania Alice, Yuuki Terumi, Odio, Gigyas & Junko, Brand X
  • Opposes/Opposed by: Keiki Haniyasushin
  • Respects/Respected by: (TBA)
  • Pities/Pitied by: (TBA)
  • Complicated Relationship: Toyosatomimi no Miko
  • Self-proclaimed to be a hermit, Kasen Ibaraki is actually many things, and hiding so much more, behind her human-like appearance, ranging from being an oni, to being a Sage of Gensokyo. However, she would much prefer living life as it is now, taking in the beauty of normalcy and calm. Despite being a kind and helpful person, however, Kasen has quite a few dark shades to her disposition and process.
  • Her ascension was arranged by Yukari and Okina as a result of everything that began happening with Gensokyo and its residents since Chimata Tenykuu’s ascension. The fallout of that event has culminated in quite a turbulent series of events for the Touhou deities, both already and newly ascended. Yukari & Okina both knew that they really needed to step up their game and catch up with the modern times of the Pantheon, so they decided to enact a plan to ascend the last known member of the Sages.
    • Kasen had been mainly hanging around Reimu’s shrine up until the day she would be ascended, when both Yukari & Okina showed up before her to request her aid in something. This unnatural reunion obviously made the hermit suspicious, especially knowing of the events that occurred since the market goddess’ ascension, but given her duties as a Sage, she accepted. Once they passed through the Land of the Back Door, they found themselves at the Court of the Gods, and suddenly Kasen knew- she had mainly known of the things that recently transpired, but never got involved as she wasn’t ascended. Yukari and Okina were gonna change that, much to the annoyance of the hermit.
  • Regarding Reimu, Kasen is one of her closest true friends and allies, alongside Marisa…a feeling not so reciprocated by the shrine maiden at first. She once saw Kasen as an annoyance, but over time, she grew to learn and like her quite a bit. Kasen also served as The Mentor to Reimu, [[guiding and training her for when spoiler:she has to seal away her cursed arm again]], helping her raise more money for the Hakurei Shrine, and other such tribulations. They don’t always see eye-to-eye on things, but they are very much in agreement to them whrn it comes down to it.
    • Kasen, by extension, is also friends with quite a fair bit of Reimu’s camaderie. Marisa is a strong supporter of Kasen’s mentorship to Reimu, which while made the shrine maiden annoyed, it also pleased the hermit. Sanae is pretty much a neighbor to Kasen, as they both live on Youkai Mountain, and are also friendly with each other. With Sumireko, though, things are slightly more tense (especially given [[Touhou Shinpiroku ~ Urban Legend in Limbo what Sumireko did), but they still have an amicable relationship, sometimes finding excuses to visit the Outside World.
    • As a Sage of Gensokyo, she has a sworn duty to maintain the land of fantasy and its integrity. However, of the trio, she is probably the most vocal when it comes to expressing her opinions on the others. Kasen, like Reimu, finds Yukari to be cowardly and annoying, pestering and bothering others into stopping or starting things for her. She echoes this for Okina as well, as well as citing that she has an idea on the inner workings of that secret god’s mind. However, in the end, she still regards them as allies, as they are just as much protectors as she is.
    • Is weirded out a little by Miko’s strange infatuation towards her. Well, Kasen does call herself a “Taoist Hermit”, so it would make sense that Miko would be asking for advice from someone like her, right? Well, she may not really know the full extent of what Taoism is, but her affinity with animals and nature as well as her kindhearted personality have made her quite a fond character in the Crown Prince’s eyes and mind. Kasen isn’t sure of what to make of all of this, really.
  • Ever since her ascension, Kasen has begun wandering around as usual, looking for new experiences. This has resulted in quite a few new friends and foes for her to juggle.
    • The House of Beasts And Fauna welcomed the hermit with open arms (or paws? Appendages?), making her an honorary member of the House. Rexxar in particular respects her quite a lot, as she is a beastmaster in her own right, also having tamed 5 beasts like him as well as being a hermit. The rest of the Beasthood, and by extension most of the House, are also respectful of Kasen, and are more than willing to take her side if she ever is put in a tight situation.
    • Not many people beyond those from Gensokyo (and even within) know that Kasen is actually an oni. But if you’ve researched Kasen’s last name, Ibaraki, then it does become a bit more obvious as to what she actually is. Rem & Ram, two fellow oni in the Pantheon, became acquainted with Kasen through Sakuya Izayoi. The hermit felt bad for Rem’s current condition, and adds herself to the growing list of deities who’ll help them whenever she can to restore Rem’s memories. Kasen was also acquainted with the Masters of Spinjitzu through the oni servants, who were, again, surprised to find more friendly oni in the Pantheon now, but have since become friends with her.
    • Not all is fine and dandy for the hermit, however, as there are always going to be obstacles in her life. She had been made aware of some recent threats to Gensokyo and its residents, such as Tanya, Alice (not Margatroid), Brand X, Terumi, and older foes like Odio. She’s also found some rather unscripulous characters in the House of Beasts & Fauna, like Chantel DuBois and in her opinion, The Dovahkiin. To Touhou deities in particular, Kasen is quite a critic towards Keiki Haniyasushin, thiugh given their respective stances on animals, this shouldn’t come as a surprise; it’s also not surprising that Junko would be an enemy of Kasen’s as well, given that the divine spirit is in association with Gigyas.
  • (Kasen’s abilities)
  • (Mysterious arm)

Hmm... I got some questions for the Animorphs profile.

1. Any deities with or are archnemesis parents (unwilling on the parent's end)? (Marco) 2. Any who are ruthless enough to be willing to kill their loved ones, consequences be damned, if it means destroying an enemy? (Marco) 3. Those who were infiltrated by tiny sentient beings who entered their body in an attempt to do bad things to him? (Marco)

Again, I would also like to nominate a rework on the Escafil Device, a.k.a. the morphing cube in Animorphs.

[up]I'm not sure about any characters that fit those, but I don't think The Journey is so critical to Marco's character arc that it warrants being mentioned in his profile.

Also, [tup] for reworking the morphing cube.

  • Allies: Moses, Father James
  • Enemies: Rev. Harry Powell, Claude Frollo
  • Looks up to: The Love That Moves The Stars, Archangel Micheal
  • Hates: YHVH, The Alternates
  • Mark Heathcliff, soon after his suicide, seemed to be gone. His family mourned and his fate sealed. Yet something stuck about he even got himself into what he got into. A monster, a demon, an Alternate, followed him home. Traced. Not even safe in his own home, even when he tried to get away from the danger...and so, he awoke in the Pantheon in a temple similar to his own home. He hid there for a while, in fear of an Alternate jumping him, only exiting one room every once in a while to get food yet still remains in his own temple. But a new structure cannot stay unnoticed for long, and so, the multiple inhabitants within the Hall of Destinations found a troubled, scared teenager within the mysterious new building. After a few of the experts within the Main House inspected the place a bit, they found that this was the residence of the God of Trouble Follows You Home, the victim of a certain group of Overdeities, starting with an A...
  • Mark Heathcliff was an ordinary, devout Christian boy from Mandela County. Or so it seems. He has actually unknowingly encountered monstrous demons named Alternates, from his first years and the last. He "made friends" with an ally of theirs that intruded into his home when he was 4, and died to one 13 years later via ending his own life with a gun because he was driven insane by it. Yet, his story hasn't ended yet. At least not in this version.
  • The Love has graced Mark, after learning of his story. While the mental scars that Heathcliff sustained after the encounter with an Alternate still remain, they feel a bit lighter, less deep. In fact, it was what actually got him to finally walk outside his home (no one really bothers to call it a temple except for formality due to the fact that it was just a replica of Mark's home in life before his ascension) and explore the Pantheon. While Mark does stay far away from places that remind him too much of his original fate, he feels much more safe now.
  • His meeting with the Archangel Micheal himself was well, awkward to say the least. Mark could barely put together any words when he saw him. While it has gone to a lesser extent as Mark got more accustomed to the presence of the angel, he still stutters a bit, either in fear or amazement. He frequently asks questions to Micheal about God and other such matters, who answers as long as they are within reason. Mark is clearly extremely attached to Micheal despite how rarely he sees him, mostly because God in his world didn't meet such a nice fate, but the peaceful and continued existence of His angels, even in other worlds, meaning that He still perseveres is a comfort to him.
  • On the other hand, he absolutely despises YHVH to the core. Despite Him claiming the identity of God, and being God in his world, Mark rejects Him on the grounds that He is not how God would act like, nor that He has the same power as Him. He claims that God wouldn't be shackled by mortal beliefs, nor would He be so controlling and merciless. God to him is a loving being, not some control freak who forces everyone to worship Him. While YHVH is a bit upset that one of the many people who apparently worships Him (or at least one from another world) detests Him, He gives little care for the opinion of one measly mortal who got lucky enough to get a claim as a deity for a trope that further demonstrates his weakness.
  • His friendship with Moses and James is surprisingly casual, despite the two's status. While the usual stumbling in awe and amazement that Mark experiences each time he sees a prophet or another very holy person such as a highly regarded priest, he soon got over that and was able to casually talk with Moses and James. The three occasionally enjoy late night talks, Moses showing slight interest and concern about Mandela County, James wondering how things could've gone differently, and Mark being interested in pretty much everything Moses and James says. The trio are happy to tell each other about their lives, and to comfort each other about their grim experiences.
  • He has happily punched Harry Powell in the face various times, gladly taking any chance he could get. Mark loathes Harry's crimes, and how he believes that these are worthy acts in the name of God. To Mark, it is absolute nonsense that these could possibly be holy acts, instead being a corruption of religion. Mark sometimes wonders to himself about whether or not Harry is actually an Alternate due to how much he twists religion. Powell just sticks to his beliefs, saying that Mark is in the wrong and is probably going to go to Hell for punching him in the face various times and continuing to do so, which he doesn't take kindly to.
  • Frollo now has one more person that makes fun of his shortcomings, that person being Mark. Despite his maturity, Mark is still a teenager. He has pranked Frollo multiple times, along with vandalizing his temple. He has even set up cameras nearby just so he can time things just right. Claude has attempted to gain some pity, but all he got was more ridicule after it was seen that he was being bested by some random 17 year old who has a greater will than him. Claude especially won't live down that one prank which took him 5 months to fully recover from.
Frollo: Young man, mind your manners, especially before someone like me!
    Mark: No.
  • The reunion between Mark and the Alternates was a dreaded one. Despite his increased resistance towards the Alternates' whispers, he still cannot handle it. But he no longer fears the demonic shapeshifters, now that he knows there are powerful beings which would gladly come to his aid if he were attacked by one. While he does have to sometimes deal with an Alternate Moses or James, he usually finds the real one quickly. Even then, when he suspects something is wrong, he immediately hangs on tightly to Archangel Micheal. This has resulted in the Alternates staying away from Mark, much to his happiness. Mark now uses his cameras to watch for any Alternates to immediately report on sight, becoming a menace. While he does eventually die every now and then to them, he is in much better shape now.

Candy, a fairy from Märchenland, would arrive to Earth and request the help of Miyuki, who would become Cure Happy, to find the other Smile Pretty Cures and help revive the Queen and defeat the Bad End Kingdom, which was now led by Joker, who intends on setting Pierrot free. Here's the in-progress draft of the Moriya Shrine trio. Thanks to Puzzarian for helping out with Kanako's section.

Are there any other hostile gods or religions the Shrine should be wary about? It can either be just rivals or even enemies. More specifically, I am looking for gods who are either reliant on faith, not-so-nice rival religions or those who would like to destroy the Moriya faith.

Anyone (aside from the Camp Half-Blood kids and Gilgamesh) who is descended from divinity? Any mortals who are friends or more with the divine (aside from the Acolyte and the Radiant Goddess)?

As Kanako usurped/succeeded Suwako as goddess of the Moriya shrine, are there any other examples of "usurper/successor gods" or something similar around in the Pantheon?

For Kanako, who would be willing to do business with her?

For Suwako, is there anyone else adept in cursing others?

Since I'm thinking of putting them as Guardians in Religion and Faith, I'm thinking that the Holy Trinity could be renamed to the Holy Quintet, since there will be 5 people there (Mata Nui, Palutena, Sanae, Kanako and Suwako).

Sanae Kochiya, Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya, Holy Trinity of Gathering Faith (Sanae: Deified Human of the Wind, Miraculous Living God, Newbie Goddess of the Mountain, Sanae Kotiya, Lady Sanae, Miracle★Sanae | Kanako: Avatar of Mountains and Lakes, Guncannon | Suwako: The Epitome of Native Gods, Suwacko, Swackers, Kero-Chan )

Kanako Yasaka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/suwako_whos_who.png
Suwako Moriya
  • House: Religion and Faith
  • Intermediate Goddesses (Kanako, Suwako), Lesser Goddess (Sanae)
  • Theme Songs:
  • Symbol: The Moriya Shrine Gate
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (Sanae), Lawful Good (Suwako), Lawful Neutral (Kanako, though some see her as Lawful Evil)
  • Portfolio: Gathering Faith, Animal Motifs, Friendly relationships between mortals and gods
  • Domains: Faith (All), Miracles, Deity Friendships (Sanae), Snakes, Qian(乾), Technology (Kanako), Curses, Frogs, Kun(坤), Earth, Mountains (Suwako)
  • Allies: Princess Sakuna, Amaterasu, Holo, the Campers of Camp Half-Blood, Gilgamesh, The Acolyte and the Radiant Goddess
  • Admires: All mecha and mecha users, including the Hall of Types of Mechas (Sanae)
  • Enemies: The Nameless God, Hades (Kid Icarus)
  • Rivals: Byakuren Hijiri and Toyosatomimi no Miko, Aqua (Konosuba)
  • Opposes: Bernkastel (Sanae), Cirno (Suwako)
  • The power and influence of religions and their gods are heavily dependant on how many people believe in them. If there is little to no faith from the people, then the religion may splinter and fade to obscurity and the gods may die. This scenario was plagueing the Moriya shrine, whose influence was waning in recent years. The current head god of the faith, Kanako Yasaka, decided to take the shrine, as well as the original god Suwako Moriya and shrine maiden Sanae Kochiya to Gensokyo, a secluded land where the forgotten beasts, myths and legends of Japan reside. Making residence on the Youkai Mountain, they begin to convert the denizens of the mountain to followers of their faith. Visitation to the Hakurei Shrine dwindles, and Reimu is informed by Sanae to shut down her shrine. Incensed by her message due to the importance the shrine has in Gesokyo, she and Marisa travel to the Youkai Moutain to face off against the newly encroaching religion. Both sides began to mend relationships after Reimu and Marisa defeat Kanako, and Sanae became a regular participant in investigating strange events in Gensokyo. Meanwhile, Kanako' attempts to modernize Gensokyo lead to a chain of events where she empowers Utsuho Reiuji by making her swallow the sun god Yatagarasu, which resulted in a geyser blowing Byakuren Hijiri's ship out from its underground tomb thanks to her newfound power, which then lead to Toyosatomimi no Miko to awaken in Gensokyo.
  • The House of Religion and Faith is home to many temples and shrines representing many diverse religions across worlds, so it is no stranger to sudden appearances of new establishments and beliefs. However, no one could've expected the appearance of a new geological formation in the House. A mountain suddenly emerged from what was once an empty plain in the House, prompting many curious onlookers to gawk and climb the mountain. Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame quickly knew just what this sudden event means, so they flew over to investigate. To their lack of surprise, it turned out that it was the doing of Kanako Yasaka, who wanted to spread her faith around by creating a new location to attract new followers. Sanae Kochiya and Suwako Moriya quickly greeted the two and the many others who climbed the mountain. The Court of the Gods agreed to let the Moriya Shrine operate their business in the Pantheons as well as grant them divine titles. While Sanae used to hold the title of Human-Deity Companionships, she has successfully requested to swap out her title and share Kanako's and Suwako's title instead.
  • Ever since their initial altercation, Sanae became good friends with Reimu and Marisa. Sanae occasionally drops by Reimu's temple to hang out, as well as helping her with gathering faith for her shrine in turn. While they do have their more antagonistic moments, they are quickly resolved by a quick danmaku duel. Sanae also tends to tag along with the two during some "youkai exterminations". She also gets along well with Sumireko Usami, who like her also hails from outside Gensokyo. Sanae was quite surprised to hear about how things changed ever since the shrine moved to Gensokyo, particularly all the technological advancements she doesn't have much access to anymore. Kanako, being the pragmatic type, sees the others in terms of how they can bring more faith to the shrine. While Suwako treats the other Gensokyo deities rather pleasantly, she does not extend this pleasantness to Cirno, whose frog-freezing hobby angers her to no end. Whenever she spots the ice fairy encasing any frogs in ice, she retaliates with a flurry of bullets, leading to many scuffles. The trio have become fierce rivals with fellow faith-gatherers Byakuren Hijiri and Toyosatomimi no Miko, not helping their rivalry is that both represent more popular religions like Buddhism and Taoism while their faith is rather niche. Kanako refuses to give up on the competition, so any meeting between them tends to get passive aggressive at the very least.
  • The divine trio arrived to the Pantheon with the express purpose of harvesting more faith from the populace, and as such continue with their mission to this day. Kanako spends her time scheming on how to generate more faith, giving orders to Sanae and Suwako about any actions they should take. As Kanako and Suwako rarely leave the shrine, Sanae is resposible for traveling throughout the Pantheon advertising the faith and shrine, encouraging mortals to make pilgrimages and support her gods. If a mortal happens to be disrespectful to any of the three and the faith, Suwako will make sure to curse the mortal as payback. As of now, they gave gained a sizeable following amongst the mortal population. That said, they do encounter much competition from other divine beings who siphon off of belief and faith, with their relationships with them varying considerably.
    • Knowledge of the presence of Shintoist Deities like Amaterasu and Susano'o did not escape the ears of the Moriya Shrine. While Kanako predictably sees them as opposition in her quest for more faith, Sanae and Suwako were more open to meet up with them and forge a bond of sorts with them. Ameterasu was quite receptive towards the two, with Sanae even petting her in her wolf form, and occasionally visits the shrine to chat with them. Susano'o, however, was being his regular arrogant self with them, which turned them away from him makes further communication with him rather difficult, so they just avoid approaching the storm god from now on. Being the daughter of a war god and harvest goddess, it didn't take long for Sanae to meet Sakuna and strike up a friendly relationship with her. Sakuna brings some of her harvested crops as offerings to the shrine whenever she visits, and Sanae sometimes helps her with managing her rice fields.
    • When the goddess Aqua of Kazuma's party ascended, she quickly set out to create a pantheonic branch of the Axis cult. Her activities ended up drawing attention from the Moriya Shrine, who took offense at the new competitor in the realm. Sanae sent herself to talk with Aqua about her cult, which she expected to be a somewhat manageable affair. However, Aqua was incensed to hear about another divine following in the Pantheons, and tried to fight Sanae only to be hit by a spray of danmaku from the shrine maiden. The two groups remain on heated terms with Aqua trying to sabotage them on a regular basis which is repayed with Kanako and Suwako cursing her. Holo isn't as indignant as the water goddess; rather, she's quite intrigued by the shrine's focus on blessing the land for good harvests, not unlike her who served as a harvest deity for a small village. As such, she doesn't place herself as a competitor to the faith, and thus isn't a rival in Kanako's eyes. Sometimes she drops by to simply relax in the temple grounds.
    • (YHVH, Lucifer, Nameless God)
  • (Pals with Jesus/descended from gods (Percy Jackson))The three of them see and treat each other as a loyal, close-knit family, far beyond the expected "God and worshipper" dynamic. This relationship is more than just a Family of Choice; Sanae happens to be of a divine heritage as Suwako's distant descendant, hence why she has her miracle powers. When not carrying out their duties, the three spend their time together as a family.
  • (original and successor gods)
  • Exclusive to Sanae:
    • (miko) Sanae is the one and only shrine maiden of the Moriya Shrine, who performs the typical shrine maiden duties of maintaining the shrine, worshipping the gods, spreading word of her faith, and exorcising any malevolent spirits that harm the shrine. With there being plenty of other mikos around in the Pantheon, she couldn't resist the chance to meet with them in person and see what they're like.
    • The Moriya Shrine was originally located outside of Gensokyo, so Sanae lived a relatively ordinary life as a teenage girl. As an immigrant to Gensokyo, she has experienced plenty of Culture Clash with her new surroundings. While she was seen as a living goddess in Japan for her miracle powers, she isn't seen as so special in Gensokyo due to many of its residents having fantastical powers. Having knowledge of things that are absent in the culturally and technologically frozen Gensokyo spurs her into trying to explain details about modern living and scientific concepts to the denizens of the land, but this tends to befuddle them more often than not. On the other hand, she isn't used to certain things in Gensokyo, such as there being far more drinkers than she is used to in the outside world. This predicament isn't so pronounced in the Pantheon, as the realm is populated by many deities who hail from modern day Japan. That said, there are a few who share similar stories about moving to a more rural area and adjusting to their new lives there.
      • (part 2; one character you'll definitely want to talk about involving Sanae is Sumireko Usami, as she is also from the Outside World, though much more modern than what Sanae lived through, and both are in the same franchise.)
    • While Sanae may be busy with her job, that doesn't mean she's idle. Whenever Reimu and Marisa go to investigate strange events caused by youkai or other kinds of supernatural creatures, there's a chance that Sanae would join them on their expeditions as additional muscle. This is how she met up with fellow youkai investigator Nate Adams, who initially mistook her for a green and blue Reimu. Sanae was fascinated by his Yo-Kai Watch as well as his many Yo-Kai friends, so she's always happy to let him visit the shrine so she can meet more of the Yo-Kai. Witnesses say that Sanae tends to be quite... eager during these incidents, having a rather manic and offbeat demeanor during battles and scuffles. When questioned about this, her only response just puzzled people more:
"You can't let yourself be held back by common sense in the Pantheon, right?"
    • Sanae's powers revolve around causing miracles to occur, which she mainly uses to manipulate the weather, such as summoning rain during prayers. Whether or not the miracles are harmful or beneficial is irrelevant; as long as the events have a chance of occuring, Sanae can will them to happen. Every miracle needs time for it to be manifested; simple miracles can easily be invoked in a single word, but unlikely, complex miracles can take days to come into effect. Bernkastel happens to have very similar powers; if there's even the smallest change of an event happening, she can will it to happen. Such a power is similar to a certain Witch of Miracles, Bernkastel, though unlike her she can manifest miracles instantaneously. Sanae is incredibly on edge regarding her; not only does she look too much like Rika, her cruel personality makes it possible that she could use her miracles to bring ruin to the shrine. She prays that that day would never come, but you can never be sure when it comes to someone so unpredictable. Bernkastel, on her part, is merely amused by her relative weakness. Needing a few days just to make something happen? How pathetic.
    • Prior to her migration to Gensokyo, Sanae would indulge herself in ordinary teenager activities like consuming manga and anime. When Hisoutensoku suddenly appeared in Gensokyo, Sanae believed it to be a Humongous Mecha just like the ones she saw in fiction, and decided to take a closer look. Having heard of actual mechas residing in the Pantheon, an ecstatic Sanae traveled to the House of Machinery and Technology to see some some giant robots, and she was certainly not disappointed when she entered the Hall of Types of Mechas. Sanae was excitedly flying around the Hall, gawking and admiring the mechas and asking the sentient machines and pilots all sorts of questions, much to their surprise. One such mecha she gushed over is the MEGAS, to the exasperation of Kiva and joy of Coop and Jamie. After all, chicks DO dig giant robots! Something that has caught her eye is Gunpla battles, where people use plastic Gundam models to compete in championships for fun. Having watched Sei Iori, Reiji and Team TRY Fighters compete in matches, she wasted no effort in becoming a fan of them and learning how to play gunpla from them.
  • Exclusive to Kanako:
    • After the events of Mountain of Faith, Kanako had begun researching ways of gathering more faith for the shrine. One of these ventures led her to making a deal with the market goddess Chimata Tenkyuu, where a market would be held at the shrine which became tangled up in an incident of its own. Despite this setback, the duo are now amicable collaborators, seeking new opportunities both in Gensokyo and in the Pantheon, particularly in the House of Commerce.
    • At some point, Kanako had been able to move more than enough chess pieces to result in a win-win-win scenario one time, engineering a scenario involving the inauguration of a cable care ropeway at Youkai Mountain. Not only did she bolster the faith of the Moriya Shrine, she was also able to solidify the tengu's power, instill fear in humans from entering their tengu territory, and maximize kappa profits in the process in a sneaky but clever way. The Hades of Kid Icarus found this a very amusing display and has offered to help expand upon underhanded techniques like this, wanting to see just how complicated and crazy these schemes can get. Kanako has blatantly and openly stated, however, that she would rather lose all faith and disappear than to be in cahoots with that Hades, making her and the other members of the Moriya Shrine direct opponents of him.
    • Is welcome, though rather sternly by most of its gods, to the Hall of Wind and Air, as she does carry the capabilities of harnessing the wind. Al'Akir in particular finds the goddess to be rather keen and intelligence, but rough around the edges when it comes to planning. In return, Kanako considers the Windlord to be quite the brute when it comes to presentation and ego, though she is one to have an ego of her own, which amuses Al'Akir. Surprise surprise, they've become decent friends through this, much to the rest of the hall's displeasure.
    • When it comes to new solutions, Kanako is one to quickly deliver herself to fresh considerations, committing to contemporary techniques for faith collection. In that case, she finds herself often in the House of Machinery and Technology for ideas, thinking that the advancements of multi-dimensional innovation would help further her case. Specifically, she consults with those from the Hall of Technological Experts for modern ways to bring faith back to the Moriya Shrine, with mixed results. (find who is willing to do business with her)
    • Of the many different forbidden templates, one of the more (in)famed ones is that "It's a Moriya Shrine conspiracy", and while that is not wrong, it's kind of not specific enough. Stemming from the transportation of the shrine to Gensokyo, to Kanako granting nuclear power to Utsuho, resulting in the Palanquin Ship being blasted out of the ground into the sky, and then Kanako offering to renovate the ship into the Myouren Temple in a rather contentous location...well, you can figure it out. This has made her quite the conversation topic among other deities, as they muse over the idea that many a Pantheonic trouble having ties to Kanako somehow.
  • Exclusive to Suwako:
    • Suwako is the original god of the Moriya shrine who holds power over the earth. It's far broader than just Dishing Out Dirt, as she is capable of fertilizing the ground, draw water from underground and sprout trees in an instant. Of course, the good old "manipulate dirt and rocks" technique is always useful for combat purposes. She has been welcomed into the Hall of Earth and Rock far more warmly than Kanako was in Wind and Air. There, she met notorious earthbender Toph Bei Fong, bumping into her as she was training. She was greatly impressed by her skill in manipulating the earth, even moreso when she found out that she was blind and uses her powers to see instead. Toph, in turn, was interested in figuring out how well and Suwako can fight, and thus challenged her to a battle. After an intense showdown that rearranged the very battlefield they stood on, they became friends and sometimes spar with each other whenever they get bored.
    • (frogs) Contrary to popular beliefs, Suwako is not the goddess of frogs. She is very fond of them however, with her wearing clothes having frog decals, hopping like a frog on the ground, and protecting any and all frogs from harm whenever possible (especially from a certain pesky ice fairy).
    • (curses) Suwako is one of the few people who is able to tame and control the Mishaguji, snakelike gods with the power to curse others. With the Mishaguji now forever loyal at her side, she has the power to curse others, usually those who stop worshipping the shrine, rival shrines and those who hurt frogs. Her ability to tame these curse gods is why she rules alongside Kanako, as the gods and humans weren't happy with a successor who couldn't control the Mishaguji. But just as she can curse others, she can administer blessings to the land, ensuring a good harvest.

The Knight of Hallownest, an enigmatic traveler is one of the many children of the Pale King, who was a god to his people. The Knight is affected by this, as they are stuck in the middle of being a "Higher Being" and just being a regular mortal. It makes it even more weird when it turns out the Knight is part void, a substance in Hollow Knight that was once worshipped and does have powerful (or strange) effects and powers. It can be summed up in one line.

"Born of god and void."

Checking in on this account after leaving the site, MAN that is a cringy forum post history. Daaamn. Never again.

[up][up] I feel like Suwako, a curse user, would be disgusted by what Nehelenia of the Dead Moon does with her ability to use all kinds of curses.

For all Touhou deities, SrPelo is a huge fan of them. He did an animation for them plus made dozens of reference in his animation. Most notably in Spooky Month there is an entire mall based on them.
