Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Happy birthday M1gami!

Very early draft of Elmer Fudd, who I earlier vouched to rework. One of Looney Tunes earliest antagonists, he's a staggeringly incompetent hunter who usually tries to hunt Bugs, and almost always gets humiliated trying.

So, any other hunters he could interact with? How about anyone that opposes hunting animals that could disapprove of his profession, even if he's usually not malicious about it?

Happy Birthday, M1gami! And big relief about the surgery. May your recovery be swift ^^

[up][up][up] Might be a bit much, but Iron Giant would certainly dislike Elmer for his hunting, as witnessing a doe get killed by two hunters is what prompted Giant's hatred for guns. On a related note, Bambi wouldn't like Elmer either since a hunter killed his mother and set fire to his home.

On another note, despite struggling a bit to work on the Klonoa rework and Rahab's profile, I noticed that Scooby-Doo has a surprisingly low number of profiles for such an enduring franchise. And I got one proposal in mind for that lol But big question is, is Ascended Extra taken?

EDIT- Actually, I just found a vacant trope that's even better for whom I have in mind cool Therefore, I propose...

  • Reason: The Hex Girls are an "eco-goth" rock band but their music is primarily alternative rock, never actually Goth Rock. Additionally, they only have one nature-themed song for a band focused on the environment.

@DoodSlayer136
Sorry for the late reply but here are some suggestions:

  • Fellow Animal Hunters/Pro Animal Hunting:
    • Pokémon Hunter J - a ruthless pokemon Poachers, tho she may find Fudd's "skills" not up to par for her standards
    • Gaston - fellow animal hunter who provides for his town, but I think they would be rivals since Gaston is the more competent hunter and his pridefulness can lead to the two having disagreements.
    • Cruella De Vil - is likely a pro animal hunter, but even that Elmer has a several hunting and pet dogs, I'm not sure if he's willing to work under her
    • Mr. Burns - like Cruella, he likes animal clothing, just see his vest! He seems to be the guy would like to imploy someone like Fudd despite his success rate.
    • Saxton Hale - frequently hunters endangered animals to test his strenght, he probably find Fudd's gun hunting puny and inffective and either offer to give him some of the Mann Co. weapons he gives to his mercs or advises Fudd to buff up himself.
    • Ralph Wolf - given that he is allies with Coyote, a hunter of sheep and a fellow Looney Tunes, I think he could be a good ally for Fudd, as they can both relate to being beaten and outsmarted by a more clever foe. This only applies when Ralph is on the job tho as he is likely neutral to him off the clock. I'm not sure about his "co-worker" Sam Sheepdog as I can see him being both allies and enemies either way.
  • Animal-Rights Activist/Anti Animal Hunting:
    • Eliza Thornberry - having experience with a few evil Poachers, she would be wary of Fudd, even if he has his good moments
    • Viridi - given that she's already a human hater and a nature lover, Fudd just validates her anti-human bias
    • Captain Planet and The Planeteers - even if Fudd is just a normal human with no powers, he does have a gun, and hunters like him are responsible for wipping a lot of the animals on earth, so they want to try and change the hunter's ways one person at a time, starting with Fudd, one of the most famous fictional animal hunter in media.
    • Sir David Attenborough and Sir Paul McCartney - one is a Nature Documentary filmmaker, the other is a musician with a love for animals, both are animal-rights activist (I'm aware that the latter is a self-shrill but I like weird interactions)
    • Steve Irwin - Despite being nicknamed "The Crocodile Hunter", he's actually pretty tame about catching the animals he "hunts" and would disapprove Fudd's hunting methods or his violent hunting in general
    • Ghetsis Harmonia - another strange case, while he claims to be against Trainers and Pokemon being together, seeing as their relationship as abusive, in truth he uses this belief to further gain power over his region. He actually sees pokemon (and presumably other beast as less than people, that the fact that there are times that Fudd is shown to be on friendly terms with Bugs, probably detests Fudd more on top of his usual impotence.

The Bucket
I'm considering this short profile to be done as I think I've said what I need to said about this object, but I'm open to futher feeback and suggestions from the previous page.

  • Introduced in "The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe", more specifically, the section where the Narrator shows off his plans to make a sequel for the game after finding himself disappointed with its Updated Re-release. Amidst complaints about the original game's "confusing and paradoxical nature" which "engendered a chaotic sense of reckless despair in those who played", the Narrator comes up with a solution by making "The Stanley Parable Reassurance Bucket". As he explained, every time Stanley holds the bucket and explores the office with its "many disorienting contradictions", it would bring him a sense of comfort, "normalcy", and reassurance, hence the name. He made this as he finds it a more convenient solution than redesigning the game entirely to be less distressing. The Bucket is Stanley's optional companion, bringing The Bucket to whichever path Stanley takes. It is also constantly referred to as an animate object, though appears to only be a ordinary looking bucket, or so we think.
  • Following the ending of the updated rerelease, Stanley bought the bucket with him to the Pantheon without the Narrator's knowledge. When the Narrator eventually found out, he at first let Stanley have the Bucket as the Narrator figured it would help Stanley cope with the fantastical and dangerous nature of this world. But after several weeks, the Narrator finds Stanley clinging tightly to the Bucket, unable to go out of his temple in fear of losing it. Vaguely remembering the trouble he had with the Bucket (as he only has vague memories of other endings he experienced), the Narrator is peeved by this and sought to get rid of the Bucket as soon as possible. Since he is unable to get rid of the Bucket himself in his own world, he decided to reach out to those in charge of The Great Treasury in containing it (pun intended). At first, those in charge of The Great Treasury laughed off the Narrator's proposal but after looking into the matter, they find some disturbing information that made them reconsider.
  • On the surface, it looks like an ordinary bucket but is also said to bring "warmth and comfort" when it is picked up. However, prolonged use of the Bucket can lead to developing a clingy obsession with it, and even passing interest can cause someone not holding the Bucket want to protect it or want to have it for themselves. Also, every time Stanley goes to a familiar path from the original game, it not only changes the dialogue to tailor the situation with the Bucket but also the endings to great effect, to the point where the tone and events of the original path are also different. Although it is unclear if the changes were of the Bucket's doing or if The Narrator is changing stuff to suit the situation. Some endings point to the latter as even the Narrator falls for the Bucket's charm or that he's unable to get rid of the Bucket himself despite having the power to do so in other paths. It also doesn't talk yet, some reports have the Bucket "speak" to them (yet it is unclear if it is from the Bucket or the Narrator is making up the "dialog" for it).
  • Its power seems to be unleashed whenever someone holds the Bucket, as it doesn't seem to affect the other paths even when the Bucket is present within the Office untouched. It is also shown to have resistance to its obsessive power against someone already showing disinterest or disdain for the object. There are endings where the Narrator is shown to treat the Bucket as a regular story object or wanted to get rid of it when it distracts Stanley from the Narrator's story and it was only at one ending when he started to consider if there's more to this regular bucket did he wanted the Bucket for himself. While inconsistent in each path, the Bucket's presence in the Pantheon would mean that it would display all of these traits from all of its paths, making it very dangerous for anyone wise enough to abuse its power. So Those-In-Charged approved the Narrator's proposal and decided to dispatch a special team to retrieve the Bucket from Stanley's temple since the Narrator does not trust Stanley to part with the bucket by himself. The Treasury Curators decided to keep it on display in The Great Treasury under limited circumstances as a warning for others about its power.
  • There are some proposals for getting rid of the Bucket entirely and there have been attempts made in the Bucket's world. One path sees the bucket escaping from the place, only to show up a few path resets later. Another sees the Narrator wanting to make Stanley feed the Bucket to "The Bucket Destroyer" but Stanley was unable to let go, even defying The Player's input to do so. Another ending sees The Narrator deleting all buckets from the game, which causes everything to disappear as everything in the game is apparently a bucket (save for Stanley and The Narrator, who are confirmed to not be buckets.) While disturb by this knowledge, The Treasury Curators are not sure if "everything is a bucket" only applies to their world or the whole multiverse. Either way, they would rather not have someone test that hypothesis especially when there are powerful beings who can make single objects disappear. If the GUAD, an Alliance dedicated to the destruction of everything, would get a hold of this knowledge and trick Timmy Turner into wishing to get rid of all buckets or Scarlet Witch into saying "No More Buckets", it would mean the destruction of the multiverse as we know it. For this reason, they make sure that this knowledge does not leak into the Pantheon or to not cause any distress to the other Deities there.
  • The telepath Carrie White does not trust the Bucket at all, even though the Bucket does not contain any liquids. It reminds her of when her bullies doused her in a bucket full of pig's blood at her prom, which made her fly into a rage, killing many students there. She doesn't like thinking about that event often and it does not help ease her distrust after knowing that in one of its paths, it actually bleeds. On that path, it used to be "a mighty beast of untold power" that can transform into a bucket, and while it can be killed when in its true from, she's not sure if her telekinesis can help her here without any magical items in her person to counteract its power. The young dinosaur fan Henry accidentally wandered into the lower floors of the Treasury and finds Carrie, who was looking at the Bucket at the time. His curious mind asked her if this Bucket is special like his own bucket, which has a portal that can transport him into DinoWorld, where his toy-sized dino friends become dinosaur-sized. Carrie, not wanting to scare the kid, only told him that it is not like his bucket at all and cannot be jumped into like his bucket portal, and then ask Henry to come along with her to escort him out of the lower floors, and find his parents.
  • The residents of Bikini Bottom from their underwater domain, have heard of the new arrival of the Bucket. Some of them feared that it would be similar to the mind control bucket hats that allowed Plankton to take over the town, to which The Treasury Curators assumed that it isn't. Even so, it's not sure if Spongebob's rock music that broke the mind control bucket hats can break the Bucket's charm. So, many Bikini Bottom residents choose not to go near it, and Patrick "TOUCH" Star is not allowed to see it. One of the few residents that took interest in this bucket was Plankton himself, who sees the Bucket as an opportunity to know its secrets in the hopes of replicating his plan once more. In one of his rare successful attempts, he manages to steal the Bucket and bring it back to his temple for study. Unfortunately, he had fallen for the Bucket's charm and started going on dates with it everywhere. This "relationship" with the bucket is ended when his computer wife Karen caught the two of them, like a scene out of a cheesy soap opera. Karen then angrily grabbed and threw the bucket as far away as possible, and gave her husband an earful rant about the whole affair.
  • The Bucket floated around the ocean for quite some time until it was fished out by Steve and Alex, which they found quite useful as an ordinary liquid container as well as a neat companion to the harshness of their world. But it wasn't long before the two erected giant bucket replicas made from blocks of iron, being so dedicated to the task that one of them starved to death mining the iron, while the other fell from the top while placing the iron block on top of the replica. The next person who found the Bucket was The Soldier, who at first hid the Bucket from the other mercenaries, before eventually being found by them. Not wanting to repeat the Soldier's incompetence the last time he had a bucket, which involved transporting bread for three days which created bread monsters (long story), the other mercs decided to blow his head off (The Soldier can be resurrected later) and throw the Bucket in the trash. This leads to the Bucket being found by a group of costume-wearing Zombies, who used the Bucket as extra protection for their heads. The Zombies are too mindless and brain-hungry to be attached to the Bucket while their leader Dr. Zomboss, who has heard of this strange bucket, is not interested to get the bucket for himself but is interested in whether or not it is stronger than the one he usually equips the Zombies. It does not, since its normal bucket form couldn't even cushion Stanley's fall in one path, which leads the Bucket to be destroyed when being pelted by the Plants.
  • The Bucket reappeared in the Treasury once more on full display, just in time for a group of visitors to see it. The Trolls, a humanoid race of aliens with a complicated relationship system, are appalled to see a bucket being displayed out like this in the public, like seeing a very lewd statue in a museum. Based on the Trolls' squicked-out reactions to seeing the bucket, it can be seen as obscene in their race, with some of them telling that buckets have something to do with their form of reproduction, though they aren't able to elaborate on how the buckets come into play besides containing their genetic material for sorting. The fact that in one of the paths, Stanley appears to be obsessed with the Bucket to the point of preparing a candle-lit bed date with it, raises some eyebrows for both Trolls and non-Trolls alike. With one of its traits is the ability to bring a sense of comfort, they hope it doesn't come into contact with someone who needs that warmth that badly. That doesn't seem to be a problem, however, with those who want to monetize it, knowing that people would pay anything to feel the Bucket's addicting sense of comfort. But after hearing one eyewitness account where a would-be profiteer was killed off by an unknown force after expressing his desire to monetize the Bucket, those people suddenly lost interest and reconsider other options instead.
  • There have been attempts to compare the Bucket to other objects from other worlds, or at least some of its known traits as holistically there isn't anything to compare the Bucket's level of powers or its inconsistency in its world. At first glance, it could be considered a Companion Cube, an inanimate object that can be interacted with as if it was a real object, but the problem arises when conflicting reports suggest it can talk or simply the Narrator's creative storytelling imagines it as if it was alive to suit the story. Functionally, it is a Security Blanket, providing comfort to those possessing it, although most security blankets provide comfort usually because the owner chooses to instill sentimentally into the object, whereas the Bucket seems to have this power of providing comfort and euphoria all on its own. Other comparisons are made such as being compared to the attraction the One Ring has on its user, though some laugh the idea off as the One Ring's attraction and attachment is a lot stronger and also has other abilities like being able to be unseen by mortals and can be able to understand dark creatures, something the Bucket doesn't do, at least based on current knowledge. That said, it is still advised that Smeagol/Gollum be kept far away from the Bucket in fear of another addiction relapse and he would be taking a new interest in the Bucket instead of the One Ring.
  • The SCP Foundation classifies the object as a Euclid class due to its inherent unpredictability. Some even compare it to SCP-3812, a reality-altering entity that's difficult to contain, though some call it shallow since SCP-3812 seems to be aware of its existence as it can reality-wrap on its own to escape, whereas the Bucket needs to be held to unleash its reality-altering power, does nothing otherwise and has conflicting reports on its sentience. For now, the Foundation is closely studying this Bucket should a similar object could come up in their world and be more prepared to contain it. Mind-altering drugs are also being compared to the Bucket as that would explain the inconsistencies, the attraction, and the "reality-altering" properties. The difference is that drugs need to be taken by the body to take effect within the user only whereas the Bucket needs to be held to have this effect on its owner and anyone in its vicinity. A likely comparison comes from the unlikely source, the world where The Eds come from, as there are two objects the Bucket can be compared to, Jonny's Plank and The Mysterious Boomerang. Latter is a mind-altering object of mysterious origin where anyone that holds it alters the holder's mind to the opposite of their personality and doesn't seem to do anything else when not being held. The former is an ordinary plank of wood serving as a child's security blanket but displays teleportation properties despite being a supposed inanimate object. It is also frequently being talked to by its owner as if it was a real object, but it is unclear if it can actually talk or if it's only within the imagination of the Jonny, very similar to the Bucket. The Ed Boys are nervous about this Bucket after learning more about it and try not to touch it at all costs, even the tall Ed feels nervous around it.
  • Despite sharing its last name, it has no relation to the deities Charlie, Joe, and Hyacinth Bucket. Charlie and Grandpa Joe, while aware that the Bucket is not from their world, can't help but feel like something Willy Wonka, candy maker extraordinaire, would make should he get into the business of making metal buckets. Hyacinth, being the attention-seeking social climber, is jealous of the Bucket's reality-wrapping spotlight-stealing properties and doesn't see the benefit of wanting the bucket for herself that can also take attention away from her. Other lower-ranked deities had shown interest and then disinterest upon learning more about its power. Despite its apparent supernatural abilities, The Dursleys are initially interested in the bucket upon hearing that it can bring normalcy into their lives amidst the fantastical nature of the Pantheon, only to dismiss it as another nonsensical magical object not worth their time upon hearing its many abilities. Same case with Charlie the Unicorn, who thought the prospect of a comforting bucket would be ideal for him to cope with the weirdness of this place, only to gallop as far away as possible upon hearing its attraction to weirdness itself.

"This... is... stupid!! You... are... a... bucket!!"

With the release of the new One Piece film and the Granblue collab to promote the film, I think it's a better time than not to rework the Straw Hat Pirates (after a month, of course). The biggest issue will be finding an appropriate trope for the entire crew.

[up][up][tup]

[down]Considering my only exposure to the Straw Hat Pirates was through Granblue, where they got vored by an interdimensional jellyfish and helped a dead kid realize his dream for adventure, along with other shenanigans, I can agree with that.

[up] I know that I really don't have much done here in a good long while (real life just grabbed a choke hold on me with college and my sister getting married), but I do think that if we have to merge them together, I think a good potential trope for them all would be Friendly Pirate. They are pirates, but they mostly just live and let live with others while helping out innocent people if they are being under attack by a bigger threat.

Edit: Yeah, I honestly really wasn't into that idea, and only really did it if we had to group them together. That said, they do need to start getting reworked on soon, so we could focus on that.

[up][up] Hard [tdown] to the Straw Hat Pirates being compiled for a group profile.

I get the whole premise of doing so and under normal circumstances, the idea of taking a set of characters and piling them into a group under one profile seems like a neat idea, considering it does free up other tropes.

However, the Straw Hats, while certainly united, not only have individualistic dreams they want to fulfill, but they also have a boat-load of characterization, focus, and moments in a giant Long Runner for a franchise like One Piece.

The main problem here is that there's simply too much to ask for regarding each member of the group, and when you take a group profile into account, you're going to end up with such a massive profile that it would take up most of the space in the page/Hall it would be placed in and, more often than not, that profile would be a massive pile of Wall of Text that wouldn't even be able to summarize and realize the full potential of each character, which can easily be done in an individualistic profile.

Finally, going back to the size issue, the Straw Hats would likely reach sizes of around 120-180k bytes, or even beyond 200k if someone ends up too dedicated. This is a problem as a page could barely sustain anything more than 300k bytes. As a result quantity control in the site itself is just as important as quality control, the Pantheon included. Overall, I just think the Straw Hats as a group profile at this point is too unsustainable and a risk to really make unless we end up with another batch of issues.

The only way this is going to work out IMO is if the Straw Hats are given a Group Page (not profile, page), but even that is a controversial topic for most of us. Also, I'm, in no way, discouraging group profiles (I actually plan on making a number of them in the future), but there are certain facts and limitations to take consideration of, and it is important to keep those in mind.

Before someone points out, yes, I did make a number of large profiles, especially in 2021, but I've also been taking size and quality into consideration. Most of my most recent profiles, barring reworks average around on 15 flavor texts, but that number is still a good amount when taking quality into account.

I don't get why Manfred von Karma is the god of Amoral Attorney instead of Saul Goodman. He was in one game, and he wasn't amoral at all.

@Mullon: Have you played that part of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney? He literally murdered a man because he ruined his perfect record. As the entry on the character page says:

Amoral Attorney: The embodiment of this trope. Manfred would do anything, even killing the (then) only defense attorney that caused him to receive a penalty, to keep his perfect record. There is a good reason he is the page image.

Tell me, does that sound like something a good person would do?

Freudian Excuse: Not one person is entirely good or evil; something will have to have happened in the past to make them what they are today.
