Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

@Hamana: That's... what I'm literally doing. I saved them all on a WordPad doc so that I don't have to worry too much about profiles being lost while also saving space on my sandboxes; I know my limits.

Now that I've done it, go right ahead on cutlisting the pages.

We should ask nexus to do the same thing

Anyone fond of beetles, or those generally fond of Vikavolt? Are there beetle deities I'm missing?

Cloyster, Goddess of Bivalves (The Bivalve Pokemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_091cloyster.png
  • Noted: Adopted from Ferot Dreadnaught. On hold until re-permission
  • House: Aquatic Life (House of Beast)
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: Her head
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Ability: Skill Link
  • Gender: Female
  • Moveset: Iron Defense, Icicle Spear, Hydro Pump, Shell Smash
    • Z-Move: Hydro-Vortex
  • Portfolio: Clam Trap, Mighty Glacier, Water Type That Became An Ice Type As Well, Super-Toughness, Trap Master, Pre-Evolution Can Form A Bond With Slowpoke, Really Low Special Defense, Perplexing Pearl Production
  • Domains: Water and Ice, Bivalves, Defenses, Clamping, Spikes
  • Interests: The Houses of Knowledge and Science
  • Allies: Ash Ketchum, Spongebob Squarepants, Qwilfish, Shuckle, Nibbler, Arthur Curry, King Triton, Ariel
  • On good terms with: Archie (main universe)
  • Enemies: Team Rainbow Rocket, Pokemon Hunter J, Mara, Daimyo Hermitaur, Mr Krabs, Smaug
  • Opposes: The Hall of Electricity, the Hall of Piracy
  • Fears: Yoshikage Kira, Solf J Kimblee
  • On poor terms with: Pet Shop, the Hall of Explosives
  • Commonality Connection with: The Venom Symbiote, The Sarlacc
  • Cloyster is the evolution of Shellder through the Water Stone. A Water/Ice bivalve, it usually only opens its shell to attack its opponents. Cloyster does this by clamping down hard on them with Clamp, or attacking them with its horn. No-one has truly seen the full extent of the creature within the shell, and with its incredible physical defense this is unlikely to change for only a handful of Pokemon can boast a higher base defense stat than 180. Just don't tell it about its special defense.
  • Cloyster did not enter the pantheon as she was. Rather she started as a Shellder that Greed fished up while looking for clams with pearls. He had the luck of finding one with the Big Pearl; a 5% chance. Greed became interested in Shellder's evolution for her defensive powers, and after training her evolved her with a Water Stone. He then requested that Cloyster could become his partner, as their defensive abilities and other powers would compliment each other. The pantheon eventually agreed if Cloyster was put under the trope of Clam Trap.
  • Cloyster's pre-evolution is known for occasionally latching onto Slowpoke, triggering evolution; if it latches onto a Slowpoke tail, they will evolve it into the upright Slowbro. If it latches onto a Slowpoke's head, they will evolve it into the super-intelligent Slowking. Shellder's venom boosts the creature's intelligence, and the Hall of Toxicity is trying to figure out how the hell that works instead of making Slowpoke even stupider. This symbiosis relationship intrigues the Venom symbiote, as it can see Cloyster's pre-evolution has a symbiote dynamic like itself.
  • How tough is Cloyster's physical defense? It's described as harder than diamond and bombs can't even crack it. The spike is even tougher and can survive a missile launch. This has not stopped some of the more "eager" explosive experts from trying to break through the Bivalve Pokemon's shell, which deeply annoys Cloyster. However she only fears the explosives of Yoshikage Kira and Solf J Kimblee; the latter can turn someone into an explosive, and the former's Stand which can blow someone up so severe nothing is left of them would bypass her defense.
  • Cloyster had the usual friends and enemies almost immediately after ascending. Ash is friendly with pretty much all Pokemon because that's just the kind of person he is, and Hunter J is opposed by pretty much all Pokemon because that's just the kind of person she is. Cloyster doesn't like Team Rainbow Rocket either, though the main universe Archie has a soft spot for the Water type. Among her fellow Water types she gets along best with Qwilfish as he uses his body of spikes as a weapon; not too different from the bivalve. She also gets along with the ultra-defensive Shuckle due to their similar strategies, though Cloyster is not a pure Stone Wall and can give a good offense.
  • Another friend Cloyster has is Spongebob. He's a generally friendly guy and once raised a lost clam like it was his own child. He also has a pet clam. She doesn't like his boss Mr Krabs, who has a bad history with big bivalves; he once stole a pearl egg from Clamu, and fought a giant clam for his millionth dollar. Krabs still hasn't learned his lesson and had to have his arms re-attached after trying to grab a pearl he thought he saw within Cloyster.
  • Cloyster doesn't like the Hall of Piracy; while there are good deities in that Hall, she is paranoid members there will try to poach her and her fellow Shellder and Cloyster for the sake of their pearls. They would've gone after Clampearl, but it is unascended. Nibbler, having been battery farmed for his dark matter dung along with other members of his kind, is sympathetic to this. He protects Cloyster, though is privately curious about her pre-evolution's venom being the cause of Slowking's intelligence. Nibbler wonders if a variant of the venom could make Fry a genius while still lacking the Delta Brainwave. Fry isn't interested because of prior experience.
  • Among those who wish to harvest Cloyster are Smaug and Damiyo Hermitaur. The former is purely motivated by wanting any potential pearl, and the latter wants to incorporate her shells into its armor. Fortunately Cloyster has defenses outside of herself in King Triton and Arthur Curry, what with them being defenders of the sea. They and Ariel are on good terms with her, though they do wonder why the Bivalve Pokemon counts as as Ice type.
  • Doesn't like when people compare her to a certain part of the anatomy. The fact that this Cloyster is female certainly doesn't help with the lewd jokes. To no-one's surprise Mara makes plenty of these jokes and innuendos about Cloyster, including calling her shiny a "blue waffle". Don't look it up, but unfortunately Cloyster did and was outraged at Mara. Besides the phallic menace, she has a natural enmity for electric attacks. While she has other weaknesses they either aren't too bad due to usually being physical attacks (Fighting types), she can retaliate with super-offensive moves (Grass types) or both (Rock types). Can't really do that with Electric types.

Vikavolt, God of Dual-Pronged Beam Weapons (Stag Beetle Pokémon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/738vikavolt.png
  • House: Energy Weaponry (House of Weapons)
  • Adopted from: TPPR 10
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: Visage of its two mandibles
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Gender: Male
  • Ability: Levitate
  • Moves: Thunderbolt, Bug Buzz, Agility, Zap Cannon
  • Portfolio: Bug Type, Electric-Type, Using Its Jaws For Electricity Control, Flight, Mighty Glacier, Magikarp Power, Thunder Beetle
  • Domains: Bugs, Electricity, Weapons, Flight
  • Herald: Charjabug
  • Allies: Arata Kagami, Vic Viper and its Avatars, Benjamin Franklin, Thor, Sparky, Agitha, Mikoto Masaka, Gunvolt, Sage Harpuia, Barry Allen, Wally West
  • Rivals: Pinsir, Heracross, HerakleKabuterimon
  • Enemies: Ragnaros the Firelord, Dr Weil, Copy X, The Radiance, Ragyo Kiryuin, Eneru, Gigabolt Man-O-War
  • Opposes: The Ultra Beasts
  • Vikavolt is a giant stag beetle what is said to be like a fortress with wings. It fires electricity from its mouth, and uses its giant jaws as a way to control the blasts of electricity it shoots out. When Vikavolt came to the Pantheon, it came as a Charjabug. With a note saying "Try to figure out how to evolve this bugger". No one was sure how to evolve the Charjabug. After much research, it is discovered that Charjabug can only evolve in special magnetic fields. Then the question came where one would find such a place. It took some improvising with help of Catherine Kyoubashi and her Arcana Median to create an area where the Charjabug would evolve. Fucking magnets, how to they work?
  • While he is technically Kuwagust Anchus' partner due of both being blue stag beetles, he gets periodical usage from Herculious Anchus due of him having much more preference over electric attacks than his brother. By chain of command this should make Copy X his superior, however unlike his partner's more conflicted relationship with Copy X, Vikavolt despises the evil of the ruler of Neo Arcadia. All of them can at least agree in hating Dr Weil. Vikavolt does think Harpuia is neat and a figure to respect, helping with his power over lightning.
  • Vikavolt is almost always seen carrying a shiny Charjabug around in its feet. That is because Charjabug acts as some sort of battery to it. The said Charjabug is referred as mini-god of Living Batteries. The Stag Beetle Pokemon is an excellent flyer, being able to pull off maneuvers and sharp movements as high speed... of base 43 Speed. A Grubbin is faster than a Vikavolt! Because the Charjabug it has is red, it is often compared to a London Bus given the Pokemon looks like a mini-bus. It could also be compared to subway cars, typically powered by electricity. However it and Vikavolt are far too slow to be used for proper transport. To rectify this, the Stag Beetle Pokemon has been training with both Flashes to have him and the Charjabug become faster. Their association with lightning aids in the Electric-type Pokemon's goals.
  • Its shape and cry makes some think Charjabug has accordion inspirations. Don't expect it to wow the House of Music anytime soon. Despite the fact Vikavolt is slow, this doesn't stop Vikavolt races being a thing on Poni Island.
  • Has noted to have some similarities with Vic Viper and Kamen Rider Gatack. Vikavolt seems to enjoy their company for the most part. He seems to be fond of Mikoto Masaka as her lightning powers and use of railguns reminds the Pokemon of his own tuning fork powers. Together, they can compliment each other's powers. Gunvolt has also noticed the potential of the electric stag beetle, and offers Vikavolt some snacks and good fights in exchange for helping him out.
  • He's fierce rivals with both Pinsir and Heracross to the point that they consider it a common threat and would team up against it if needed. All three will unite if they are forced to fight against Ragnaros the Firelord, due to his love of burning INSECTS! Vikavolt also has a tendency to pick up fights against HerakleKabuterimon due of their shared traits of being electric beetles. Initially they squabbled over who should get the trope, but now that he's up that's water under the bridge..
  • As with just about every insect, Vikavolt regards The Radiance as a natural enemy. And with most Alolan Pokemon, it wasn't all too happy to learn the Ultra Beasts had arrived in mass given their invasion in the region. The Stag Beetle Pokemon wondered if Ragyo Kiryuin was responsible, what with her similarities to the Aether Foundation head who experimented with releasing them. However Ragyo makes Lusamine even at her worst look like a saint in comparison, so even if she isn't responsible Vikavolt has plenty of reason to loathe her.
  • Contrasting this, Vikavolt is friendly with Agitha due to her compassion towards bugs as a whole. However the Stag Beetle has marked disinterest in most other ascended insects, mainly not finding enough to be in common with. The Pokemon prefers to hang out in the Electricity sub-house instead. Given Alola is the Fantasy Counterpart Culture of Hawaii, Spark soon made himself known. Thor and Benjamin Franklin came to appreciate the entry of Vikavolt into the pantheon.
  • Like most electric-based gods, Vikavolt regards Eneru as rather insane. He doesn't like Gigabolt Man-O-War either, though less because he's crazy and more because he keeps trying to suck the electricity from Vikavolt.

  • Followers: Daniil Dankovsky, Artemy Burakh, Alan Probe
  • Allies: most every benevolent doctor, nurse, and otherwise healer in the Pantheon (Dr. Black Jack, Florence Nightingale, Mordin Solus, SCP-2295, Osmosis Jones), the (Etrian Odyssey) Lagaard guild, Dr. Tenma, Navy Corpsmen James Broderick Sullivan and John Henry "Doc" Bradley, Ellen Ripley
  • Rivals:
  • Enemies: Nurgle, those who advocate death, Facehuggers, Thrax, Typhus, Albert Wesker
  • Oppose: Nigel Burke (especially Derek)
  • Conflicting Opinion: The Medic (Derek can tolerate him, Angie despises him)
  • Usually, in most games, healing is not a big issue, and can be solved with potions, food, sleep, or exiting combat. Sometimes, it takes a bit of effort, or it's just plain impossible to get sick or injured (though death is still an option). In a Medical Game, the treatment of illnesses/injuries/infections is the main point. Enter the Trauma Center games.
  • Derek Stiles grew up in Northridge, a suburb just outside Angeles Bay. After losing his father to an incurable disease (and losing his cat in a car accident before or after that), this started his resolve to become a doctor. His story begins as a surgeon at Hope Hospital in Angeles Bay, just about to complete his residency there and eager to start operating as a full time surgeon. He used to have the assistance of Nurse Mary Fulton before she had to transfer to another hospital, newcomer nurse Angela Thompson taking her place as Derek's aide. While mostly professional, Angie also tends to be moody and prone to outbursts, but is still just as dedicated to her job as Derek is.
    • Their story begins in full force upon the discovery of a series of bioweapons known as GUILT, designed with the intent to cause pain and death to those infected by it. It comes right after the discovery of something in Derek: the Healing Touch, a supernatural ability meant to help surgeons with their operations. The results vary, but for Derek, it slows down time for a few minutes. Partly in thanks to this gift, Derek was eventually invited to the international organization Caduceus (with Angie shortly following suit), which is at the forefront in combating Delphi, the terrorist group responsible for GUILT. Several operations later, all the strains of GUILT have been stopped, and Delphi is tracked down and its members arrested, putting an end to their threat to the world.
    • Another thing to note is that Angie has close ties to GUILT, so to speak, in that her father Dr. Kenneth Blackwell was blackmailed to create GUILT, and did so to keep Angie from becoming a living incubator of GUILT. While he has been rescued, she has not forgiven him for his actions, though he continues to atone after that.
    • That said, GUILT would surface once again three years later, though Derek and Angie would first deal with Post-GUILT Syndrome patients after coming back from Costigar, Africa with new "recruit" Dr. Adel Tulba. And then GUILT itself would resurface, thanks to Delphi remnants, and worse Derek would lose access to the Healing Touch for a while after failing to save a patient (out of four in succession), the pressure getting to him, just as his mentor Dr. Robert Hoffman feared years ago, having suffered that burden himself. He would take a break at Hope Hospital for about a month before Angie visits him and they visit her father who's under probation and helping clean up the mess Delphi made, but when he contracts PGS, Derek finally gets his Healing Touch back after getting his act together, and Derek and Angie eventually return to Caduceus, continuing the fight against GUILT, eventually putting a stop to Delphi for good, exposing that Acropolis and HOA has been utilizing GUILT (now called NEO-GUILT) in certain medicines of theirs as "ability enhancements" (to the point of mimicking the Healing Touch) thanks to Blackwell's espionage, arresting the implicit top brass, and eliminating NEO-GUILT for good as well.
  • Their ascension to the Pantheon came in the form of a Court envoy sent to Caduceus and requesting for the pair, who were just returning days after overseeing Dr. Markus Vaughn and Dr. Valerie Blaylock test out simulation operations against Stigma strains plus GUILT strains. After a lengthy talk with the envoy, Director Hoffman decided that it would be best that Derek and Angie accompany the envoy Dr. Black Jack to their new assigned location: the Trope Pantheons.
  • Applies to both:
    • Naturally, Derek and Angie were first acquainted with the doctors in the House of Health and Diseases, starting with Black Jack himself, given Caduceus has a few shrines dedicated to him. They're amazed at his speed, and that it's all from his body, no mystical Healing Touch necessary.
      • While a nurse, they revere Florence Nightingale for revolutionizing the profession and making sanitation mandatory.
      • Their first big step towards accepting the strange was the salarian doctor Mordin Solus, who was additionally a proficient fighter to boot, given the criminal environment Shepard first found him operating at.
      • SCP-2295 was a massive curiosity, being able to replace organs and patch up skin with plushie materials and they somehow work like the real thing.
      • While the Medic's tech and speed of healing is revolutionary, his practices, mercenary career, and (lack of) ethics prove problematic for them to deal with. Still, after one operation where Derek and Angie had to treat the Heavy after being infected by an anomalous parasite using the Medic's tools (and Angie being critical of their filth before cleaning them), and the fact that he considers his colleagues as friends, Derek can tolerate him at best, while Angie loathes him for his loss of his medical license on top of everything else he's done.
      • Fran Madaraki is another they found unsettling due to her skewed anti-death morality, despite her unparalleled surgery skills, and because of the mutations she's made thanks to those skills. But her rules are relatively easy to follow to keep her sort-of under control. That said, when it comes to heart operations, she sometimes offers to "modify" Derek, though he always turns her down.
      • And then there's Nigel Burke, a
... disgrace to the profession, so much that even Derek is close to being driven to a rage at the sight. The fact that several of Nigel's patients have also been delivered to Derek's operating table puts him really close to actually ranting about that guy's ineptitude.
  • Outside of the House of Health and Diseases, they were acquainted with Dr. Tenma, his skills as a neurosurgeon, his unending optimism, and his mission to stop Johan Liebert.
    • They were also acquainted with Navy Corpsmen Pacific Assault Squad member James Broderick Sullivan and Flag Raiser John Henry "Doc" Bradley, who have both treated battlefield casualties in the jungles and islands of the Pacific Theater. Derek and Angie are no strangers to medical operations in a warzone, given their time at Costigar.
    • And then there's SCP-049, who has a desire to "end the plague", but is oblivious to the fact that his actions aren't conducive, including his Touch of Death. 049 treats them with respect (and intrigue with Derek's Healing Touch), but this is not reciprocated by the surgeon or nurse.
  • They were once approached by the Lagaard guild and thanked for providing much needed medical supplies, but neither Derek nor Angie remember them or ever being in High Lagaard. Still, the aid is appreciated, and Derek has even considered teaching his art to their (and the other guilds') Medics.
  • As doctors, they oppose those who would promote death, especially death cults such as Delphi was, and those who specifically design diseases to bring that about, having stopped every strain of GUILT they encountered.
  • A surgeon is supposed to have as much of their attention as possible on a patient that needs saving. While turbulence, reckless driving, and darkness may be tolerated since those can't be helped, live media coverage with lighting and flashes will not be tolerated by Angie, even if Derek will try to persevere amidst it anyway. Reality TV with real operations isn't tolerated either, and two other Caduceus doctors eventually put a stop to one such show.
  • Medical malpractice of any kind is not something they'd want to repeat, having once been directed by the government to implant a pacemaker with a tracker in a Delphi mole, who would then be "set free" for him to return to his base.
  • They oppose those who would do unspeakable things for the sake of beauty/youth, just as President Reina Mayuzumi of Acropolis has.
  • The operations they've had to perform in the Pantheon has led to enemies and allies as well.
    • There was one operation on a patient who was infected with Thrax, and he proved more challenging to deal with than even the GUILT strains Savato and Aletheia since he's actually sapient. A timely arrival by Osmosis Jones helped turn the tide, though Thrax managed to escape entirely, leaving a huge mess for Derek to fix.
    • There was also another on a recently "impregnated" Facehugger victim when they were in the area. Usually, they're just written off as doomed, but Derek wanted to save the victim and the patient was taken to the operating room (and Ripley was already contacted). Not being given enough time to grow inside the victim, the to-be-Chest Burster was much weaker than it should've been, though still proved challenging for Derek to handle, especially since unlike GUILTnote , this infant Xenomorph even made to attack Derek himself, though his Healing Touch instincts kept him from getting hurt as it found itself decapitated by his scalpelnote  (the xenomorph infant was that weak). Angie swiftly gathered the "pieces" for future study.
    • He suffered a minor breakdown after the operation, given this was the first time he's killed a living thing that wasn't a virus/parasite/bioweapon (thinking back on Dr. Tulba's attempt to use the Healing Touch to kill Derek, only for the NEO-GUILT to kick in), but Ripley (who arrived near the end of the operation) assured him that he did the right thing. Also, "prequel" events have revealed that the Xenomorphs were indeed bioweapons that eventually Turned Against Their Masters and were on the loose ever since.

  • Exclusive to Derek:
    • The secret to Derek's success is the Healing Touch, which slows time to a crawl from his perspective as he operates on the patient in record time, though he's been recommended to make do without it as often as possible to conserve his mental stamina and only use it for critical diseases that are as dangerous as GUILT has been.
      • A Healing Touch used subconsciously out of desperation costs the doctor nothing and can last quite a while, while an intentional one exhausts the user and last for a brief time proportional to their focus. Two different Healing Touches can be used in concert without interfering with each other. Meanwhile, two of the same Healing Touch will stack. This includes those from the same doctor (a.k.a. Derek) using a desperation healing touch and an intentional one simultaneously.
    • If worse comes to worst, as long as there's an expert to instruct him, and he has his tools, he can even defuse a bomb, and disarm certain electronic locks.
    • Despite his expertise, he's just one surgeon, and can only operate on one patient at a time. Thankfully, in the Pantheon, there are several advanced healing methods to close up wounds fast when he has to operate in succession. It's one of the only reasons he tolerates the Medic.
    • Is slow at working out puzzles, and gets regularly mocked for it.
    • Despite the last time he had cameras and sensors wired up to him, Derek's willing to have his operations recorded if it can help other surgeons. He'd just prefer that they aren't artificially enhanced like Acropolis Pharmaceutical and the Hands of Asclepius have done with their doctors and Adel Tulba, and using NEO-GUILT as "ability enhancers". Time-related abilities should work just fine, though.

  • Exclusive to Angie:
    • Because she never got it back at Caduceus or Hope Hospital, several are unafraid to give her flak over the things she's done (including suggesting to a depressed patient that they should just die, even if that isn't actually unique to Angie), though they also state that she's tolerated because of Derek and because she pretty much keeps him in line in regards to non-surgeon matters, particularly to remind him to do his paperwork. Interestingly, in certain other matters, he's the more mature one compared to her.
    • Despite not looking the type who would have the discipline to study it, Angie is proficient in aikido.
    • Dislikes parents who do all sorts of atrocities just to spare their children, even if it's because of ransom, as her father had done. It took years before she could look at him again without too much hate.
    • Despises Nurse Ratched for how badly she treats her patients. Yes, Angie has had her moments too, but those were out of impulse and wild emotion, not calculated cruelty.
    • "Nice work, Dr. Stiles!"

Copernica, Goddess of Robots With Magic (Coco)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120006_1.png
  • Intermediate Goddess
  • Symbol: Her book
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Robot Wizard, Black Mage, Elemental Powers of Fire, Frost, And Storm, Conjuring Barriers, Can Smack Foes With A Book To Reduce Their Magic Power, The Blue To Armilly's Red, Aesthetic Glasses, Squishy Wizard
  • Domain(s): Steambots, Magic, Knowledge
  • Heralds: Her friends Armilly and Galleo, plus Orik, Tarah and Thayne
  • High Priestess: Penny Polendina
  • Followers: Dragon, Warforged wizards and psions, Sophia, The Defect, The Wizard
  • Allies: Palom and Porom, Cutie Honey, Aerith Gainsborough, Atsuko Kagari, Jaina Proudmoore, the Magic Knights, Teana Lanster, Vivi Ornitier, Wendy Marvell, Ruby Rose,
  • Enemies: Cinder Fall, Mysterio, Frost, the Seven (except Starlight), Madame Gasket and Phineas T. Ratchet
  • Opposes: both Gilgameshes
  • When it comes to technology, it has a varying relation with magic. While they're usually at each other's throats, they sometimes meld too. And when it comes to robots, them possibly using magic can be a murky subject that involves debates on whether they have souls.
  • Copernica is a steambot who used to study in the University of Magic, but dropped out because she disapproved of their selectivity on who can learn magic and because she wanted to practice her art outside their stuffy labs and libraries. She wanted to "deploy knowledge practically, for the good of the many".
  • Her story (shared with her best friend, who's actually the main protagonist) begins when she and Armilly went foraging in the woods for a Peppermint Puffer mushroom to clean up the well in their village of Goosebucket. When they returned, they found Goosebucket being set ablaze by the Void Army, and the local Heroes Guild abducted. Being the only ones available to fight them, the two (plus their friend Galleo) took matters in their own hands to rescue the Guild.
    • But when the Guild proved to be nothing but Dirty Cowards, it became clear that the Fellowship (now with the addition of the veteran Orik (former sidekick of the legendary and fallen hero Gilgamech), with the sibling thieves Tarah and Thayne joining up later) was the Realm's only hope of stopping the Void Army from unleashing the Necronomicog to reshape the world by awakening the Behemoth.
    • Long story short, while they stopped the Void Army and confronted Gilgamech, they couldn't stop him from awakening Behemoth, but they were able to vanquish it once and for all. As for what happened to Copernica after, she became the new principal of the University of Magic given the previous one, her mentor Hypathia, had been in cahoots with the Void Army (forcing the Fellowship to take her down) and opened it for everyone willing to learn.
  • That said, it turns out there was another candidate to this claim; Atlas android Penny Pollendina, due to inheritance of the Winter Maiden powers as well as generating an Aura when only those with a soul can (even if it's thanks to her "father" Pietro providing his for it). However, the title went to Copernica not only because of "hype prevention" on her "competitor", but because the steambot has a much wider repertoire of spells, not to mention still being a robot by the end of the adventure, unlike Penny, whose virus-infected robot body was transferred out of her soul by the Staff of Creation, causing a new one (which is most probably without any robot-ness) to be made from her own soul. She was also present in the Pantheon already as Nu-13's High Priestess. Still, no hard feelings were had with either, and given that she's left her mortal coil (passing her Maiden powers to Winter Schnee), Penny was resurrected in her robot body, and implanted a firewall to ensure that she cannot be hacked so easily again.
  • During the ascension ceremony, she got into conversation with many of her neighbors, who were intrigued with her very nature as a machine able to cast magic. After learning that she was teaching magic in her world after the Behemoth was vanquished, Palom invited her to join him in teaching (applications of) "black magic" at Elysium Academy (since how she learned magic might be different from his). Porom sees no issues here and finds Copernica to be an okay person, even if the idea of a Robot Wizard is still something to get used to.
  • Was attacked at her (one of two) temple(s) one day by Cinder Fall, who coveted the powers of the Winter Maiden (yet only now noticed her existence) and wondered if the resurrected Penny still had them now that she's Back from the Dead, or if they were gone for good and at the hands of Winter Schnee. Due to a lack of need for extreme mobility back in her realm (usually leaving that to Orik, who was at the other temple with the rest of the heralds), Copernica was a sitting duck for most of the fight, requiring Penny to intercede multiple times whenever the Fall Maiden went for the steambot. Eventually, the commotion drew her neighbors in, and Ruby Rose herself was already en route, wanting to see Penny again (not knowing of Cinder's attack yet). Once The Cavalry arrived, Cinder contended with all the meddlers, but as soon as Ruby entered the scene, after exchanging several blows with her, she saw that her odds of success have become too low and beat a hasty retreat.
    • After thanking her neighbors for pitching in, Copernica was also approached by Ruby and thanked for helping protect Penny, even if the steambot confesses to having needed protection by Penny numerous times.
  • Given the fact that the Houses of Science and Magic are usually at odds with one another, Copernica's mere existence is seen as a novelty, curiosity, or even an affront. What's more, she's a steam-powered robot, rather than electricity-powered like most robots in the Pantheon, which also make her not easily hack-able, just like Agatha Heterodyne's clanks.
  • In regards to her array of spells, she has all manner of Fire, Frost, and Storm spells, and can even put an opponent to sleep (though only once per engagement), increase or decrease resistances to/increase power in casting those elements, etc. Notably, her Meteor does Frost damage rather than Fire.
    • She expends Steam Pressure (SP) to cast her more powerful spells, and builds up SP with basic attacks (Book Bash that also reduces a target's magic power) or "cantrip"-level spells (like a Mana Barrier, a fire whip, a blast of electricity), raise her own magic, conjure a reflective barrier against Fire, Frost, and Storm-element magic, or even make herself a Glass Cannon by buffing her magic attacks the cost of much of her resistances. She can also "weaponize" her Doubt by making it absorb elemental attacks at the cost of her momentarily malfunctioning.
    • As for how her magic works in the Pantheon since she's the only ascended steambot so far, she's not limited to eight "punch cards" per battle and can use all of her abilities, so long as she has the SP to cast the more powerful ones. As for how SP works for her, it builds up as normal, and when allies perform certain abilities, though only half as effectively as a steambot could.
  • Dislikes "heroes" who engineer their own incidents or just desire glory above all else, given Gilgamech fit neatly in both categories and caused Armilly, who worshipped his achievements, to briefly suffer a Heroic BSoD. In one world, Mysterio counted for both, and so do Frost, and the Seven (though she holds some exception for Starlight given her circumstances).
    • As for the people named Gilgamesh, she likes neither of them, the Lancer for his massive ego, and the multi-armed sword hunter for his obsession. At least she has nothing he wants.
  • Given they're also robots with supernatural non-scientific abilities, Aigis and Labrys (plus Mitsuru) visited as well, curious as to how Copernica and her magic worked as well as wanting to make another friend. That said, given the nature of the story of Steamworld Quest, which is a fictional work inside a fictional work (Steamworld Dig, Dig 2, and Heist), and the possibility that it's a standard fantasy tale whose characters were "re-translated" into steambots, there likely isn't any explanation; it's just inexplicably possible.
    • Eventually, Copernica learned of the TV World and of the Shadows there, and it reminds her of those shadow doubles the Fellowship fought on the way to Gilgamech's keep. Curious to see them, she plans to request for a trip there one day.
  • Holds contempt for mentors who turn out to be working for evil as her own, Hypathia, had been, such as Kreia, Ali Al-Saachez, Orochimaru, Tobi, Madara Uchiha, Gozaburo Kaiba, Deathstroke, Palpatine, The Illusive Man, Master Xehanort, Vlad Masters, and Unalaq.
    • Megamind is a strange case of this though, given his state after seemingly defeating Metro Man, "raising" Titan so he can have a hero to fight, and then rising up to become a hero himself when Titan goes rogue.
  • And then there's the deal with Stealth Mentors, such as Ghaleon, whose idea of teaching the heroes is to pose as their adversary, though it helps that he technically didn't have a choice in working for the villain. However, it doesn't help that he was a legitimate enemy (though well-meaning) in the distant past. She's still conflicted in regards to how she should see him as.
  • Conversely, this also means she holds sympathy for those who had been under such mentors, such as the Exile, Setsuna F. Seiei, Domon Kasshu, Aki Izayoi, Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, Riku, Terra, Gouken (who purged the murderous aspects of what he learned from his master to teach, then taught his own to Ryu and Ken), Yusuke Kitagawa, Katara, and Bolin.
    • Chirin is a strange case, though, given it was him who initiated this relationship with Wor, became a ferocious beast, but ultimately slew his mentor, only one be forever branded an outcast by the sheep.
    • Kamen Rider Tiger is another special case, given he misinterpreted his mentor's "kill one, save a thousand" motto as actually needing to kill people to save plenty more. At least he's making up for it now.
    • That said, she does not hold sympathy for those who take dark paths themselves, such as Akuma and Risky Boots.
  • Greatly opposes those who use robots as resources for stuff, just like Archdruid Bob with his Moonjuice, and Madame Gasket and Phineas Ratchet count for that in spades, who for their part are baffled at how an "outmode" is capable of doing so much more than most shiny upgraded robots with her magic, which by itself is another baffling concept they thought was exclusive to organic lifeforms.

[up] Dont. Ask. People. To. Find. Ideas. For. You. I. Like. Making. Periods. To. Emphasize. Point.

Gonna speak on my personal plans now even though I’m busy with two group profiles now (they are the hardest for me to do after all).

Two people I want to rework.

Sakazuki, God of Magma (Of course, poor profile. Biggest thing that will happen regarding Akainu is bumping him to Greater. Not because he became Fleet Admiral but because I think Admirals are Greater by default. Got to have the confidence in taking on an Emperor even if he ran from Shanks.)

Crocodile, God of Desert Girasole (Again, poor profile but I would like to change Croc’s trope to becoming Thirsty Desert since that was his plan in Alabasta, working to cover his weakness and sow war. Quicksand Sucks is a power he has (desert doo-doo) but his powers are much more broad than that and the new trope is more specific.)

@ninjaelf37: Still think SCP-049 should have an interaction with Derek since SCP-049 can kill people by touching them, and then turn them into "cured" zombies. Likewise, for Copernica, an interaction with Ghaleon would be fitting since he was previously a Treacherous Advisor turned Big Bad in the first Lunar game, only to have a Face–Heel Turn and become a Stealth Mentor in the sequel.

Second wave of Pending Gods 2 profiles. Check if anyone is interested in them, also could someone kindly ask the owners of the sandboxes if they are still participating in the Pantheons?

While we are dewicking old Pantheon redirects, I PM'd Shonen and he said that a suggestion for the renaming of Villains could be to Villainy, however, I wish to finish all the dewicking of old Pantheon redirects first before we can make the change, agree?

@nightelf37 : I'd liked to think that the Derek and Angie would have some interaction with the Ace Attorney deities considering they're some of the first anime video games based on a regular occupation with a supernatural twist, and take place in California in the translations.

What ideas do you guys have for old pantheon profiles that should get merged into a group profile?

Do we have to wait until after the Terminator reworks before suggesting new ideas from the series or not?

Yes, I know that I'm supposed to wait a month before working on RE Village, but I can still research on a trope for Mother Miranda (yeah, I asked for her as someone else wanted to try and work on the Four Lords).

Esoteric Motifs looks promising, as Miranda's kidnapping of Rosemary for a ritual to bring her daughter back, the use of crows in her appearance, and one of her disguises is The Hag invokes the image of the traditional witch.

[down] Coulda sworn that someone wanted to ascend all 4 Lords at once, but if there is a trope for Lady D, I'll take it.

[up]Do you want to work on something for the vampire mommy gf

Got a few ideas. What do you think?

  • Captain Gantu, God of Net Guns (House of Ranged Weapons, Lawful Neutral)-Gantu was sent to capture Stitch, and later on hired by Hamsterveil to collect experiments. He does so thanks to his Net Gun, which can summon a bag to capture people
  • Lord Portley-Rind, God of Villainous Stories Not Focused On (House of Villainous Roles)-the head of the White Hats he's supposed to be a leading figure of the town of Cheesebridge. However his selfishness, lack of concern with people and obsession with cheese has resulted in a kakistorcracy that would make him the inept tyrant Big Bad. However Snatcher is worse and the actual Big Bad so the problems he causes aren't as focused on
  • Herbert Trubshaw Jr./Eggs, God of Oblivious Adoption: adopted from Phantom Fire. Why does he fit the trope? Because of Snatcher Eggs ended up adopted by the Boxtrolls. He never realized he was a human until mid-way in the movie or questioned why he looks different from his peers

[up][up]Personally Roku you are better off waiting till the deadline is set. All you are doing is encouraging hype profiles despite the 2 month waiting period.

[down][down]Um, no it said on the Hype Prevention Sandbox that it is 2 months waiting period for any new media. This is to prevent hype profiles from being created.

@RJ - Geez, you've mentioned Terminator a lot, haven't you.

Technically, you can work on whatever new Terminator profile you want to if you ask me. The reworks are a separate matter, just given more urgency because most of the profiles are outdated and don't have much content.

Also, regarding what I can take from the Pending Gods section, I'll nab louisent's reworks of Jin Kazama and the dual profiles between Heihachi and Kazuya. I was meaning to do them for a long time, but now I have to be urgent about it so...

It varies, actually, if you read it closely.

  • Movies = when the DVD/Blu-ray is released. This goes for both live action and animated movies.
  • Video Games = Depends. Story-heavy games are two months, while less plot heavy games are one. Indie games are a few weeks to two months depending on how popular the game in question is, and games released in chapters are a month and a half after the final chapter releases. These rules also apply to any DLC these games may receive.
  • Comic Books/Manga/Cartoons/TV Shows/Anything released in episodes or issues = Slice of Life works or works with little-to-No Continuity are a month after the first episode airs or the first issue releases. More story-heavy works (especially ones with lots of Wham Episodes) are generally discouraged before the series finishes, as it almost always leads into the profile(s) needing reworks as the series progresses, but they can still be discussed. Works that are released whole season by whole season are two months unless they fall into the "story-heavy" category, at which it's two months after the final season releases.

Be awed. Or be awestruck. This is the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary.

As per Resident Evil tradition (well at least past 7), there will be some sort of DLC so that means there might be more months to wait after Village's release. Its a thing called patience.
