Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • The very first thing any contributor should do before working on an idea or a profile is to propose and nominate the idea on the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning, a paragraph of reasoning to justify taking a trope should be sufficient. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Attempting to work on ideas without a nomination and at least one net thumbs-up will not be accepted regardless of how much you have written already. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. For reworks in particular, nominate the idea as you would with new characters or profiles. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user, either in the Pantheon or the Sandbox sections.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters. Some real-life individuals, including content creators (fictional content created by them is still fair-game, but do not bring up the creators themselves in such cases), may be considered disqualified for profiles due to controversies that would make them concern the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. To determine where a current creator would be disqualified:
      • Wait for at least a month after the latest significant update for a creator's controversy before any decision can be made. If a confirmation from the questioned creator (or associates) themselves occurs, then wait for a week.
      • Immediate disqualification for either a guilty sentence in a significant court case against the creator, or evidence of consistently repeated, deliberate, and/or intentionally provocative hate speech and advocacy of dehumanizing perspectives, with lesser examples warranting caution instead.
      • For creators with a clear persona of their character disclosed before any scandal, the persona can have a profile with no mentioning of their real-life information. Ambiguous existence of a persona would have to be discussed further hand for anything more decisive.
    • For obvious reasons, gods cannot be followers, high priests, or heralds. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one-week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions Expansion, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be one flavor text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like to look like Character Shilling.
    • Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles, this means avoiding the usage of "[tup]" or "[tdown]".
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for the deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others. After all, no one is responding to their idea.
    • You can also adopt a profile or idea to work on from another contributor by messaging a request to them (preferably through private messages). Even if you get their permission, you still have to announce your adoption to the forum. Note that if the idea wasn't nominated in the first place you still have to properly nominate it.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to note in a trope example that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, correct the situation by deleting the offending text. This goes for any non-Pantheon page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Pantheon.Good And Evil Colors.
    • Do not bring things that would incite fights; hot topics and 'urgent' news are not pertinent to the Pantheon's mission. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight each other, so don't suggest things that go in that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • Please refer to Text Formatting Rules when writing a profile, since understanding how to make and edit site pages in general is a necessity for working on profiles or other Pantheon content. Additionally, if you are not experienced with English, refer to this forum page, as proper English spelling and grammar is expected.
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also, be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in another House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity at most.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part of their series' official soundtracks from the media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters' appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlight a character's behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute it to the original artist. Due to the website's dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too many bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, run the compressed image through other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikis to look for better images, as even wikis for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that make sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally an expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entirely from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well-advised not to abuse them. The only house where trope-less profiles are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
    • Do not write in self-promotion or blatant advertising. Minor references to something are fine but writing that clearly intends to advertise something will not be given toleration.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place, or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending on if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warper deities capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warper deities that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low-level Reality Warper beings capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Badass Normal citizens of the pantheon, making up for their lower status with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
    Templates
Template for adding a new deity: God X, God/Goddess/Deity of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on the representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral, etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here; the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignments to characters that don't have an alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case the deity would be unavailable, incapacitated, dead, or otherwise incapable of carrying out their duties. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.

    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either from their perspective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly oppose or are opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects", "On Good Terms With", and/or "Commonality Connection") in terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
      • OPTIONAL NOTE FOR CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS: Should the list for Character relationships (IE. Allies, Enemies, etc.) become too big, categorize a certain number of characters to a specific group putting them on a sublist (One example: Luigi is from the same world as his brother Mario, hence Luigi should be fall under the Super Mario Bros sublist.)
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part, the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This is the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis of the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles: Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.
Template for Treasure profiles: The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as to where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Paige has been deleted and Snow White now has Raven Hair, Ivory Skin. The Evil Queen now has Fairest of Them All. Vain Sorceress is now free, though it's really dependent on if others are fine with the trope replacement suggestion. Physical Appearance and Physical Attractiveness now have 25 and 28 deities respectively.

On the subject of replacements, I did have an idea for taking out Black Mist (whose profile isn't looking that good in terms of text quality; also Yu-Gi-Oh! has 47 character profiles, but that's another conversation entirely) for Palette Swap and having Rafisol take it. Rafisol is someone who was born Ally's pendant and, at first glance, has the trappings of a typical evil knockoff character, up to and including having colors inverted from that of Ally and her initial goal of destruction. Their personalities are also different as whereas Ally is a lively girl, if a bit of a Love Freak, Rafisol was born from a loveless existence and originally sought destruction, but after some Character Development and getting talked out of her destructive tendencies, she's shown to loathe her own existence and despite deliberately trying to hide her emotions, she ultimately just wants to be loved by others.

Of course, if anyone else has a different idea for Palette Swap, I'm willing to listen.

Eryi, Goddess of Meaningless Video Game Lives

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eryi_from_eryis_action.jpg
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: Her melon
  • Theme Song:
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Genki Girl, Green Hair, Our Fairies Are Different, Unfaltering Resolve, Screwed Over Many Times In-Game By Just About Everything, Dying Over And Over Again To Negative Life Counts, One-Hit-Point Wonder Even In RPG Mode, Goomba Stomp, Holds No Grudge Against Farta
  • Domain(s): Difficulty, Kazio, Defeat (Repeatedly), Persistence
  • Herald: Farta (her girlfriend and tormentor)
  • High Priest: "Cat Mario"
  • Allies: The Kid
  • Rivals:
  • Enemies:
  • When it comes to Video-Game Lives, they're meant to represent chances for the player to go through a stage of the game before being marked a Game Over or restarting the stage. And in the case of arcades, it's a way to siphon more money from its customers as they insert more coins to buy more lives). And then some games make it all meaningless, whether that's from giving too many of them, or because the counter doesn't matter. Either way, they're made pointless to count, unless perhaps as a form of "score".
    • Eryi's Action is a game where Eryi has to go through numerous stages filled with Kaizo Traps set up by the fairy-ish troll Farta to get back her melon she was about to eat. And unless the player knows where all the traps are beforehand and how to avoid them, her life count will go down all the way to negative numbers very quickly, not that it actually makes a difference.
  • As for how Eyri got here, it was as simple as an invitation sent by the Court, which she immediately accepted, and she made her way in. Getting there however was just as deadly as her regular adventures for some reason. Still, she eventually passed the gauntlet, was rewarded papers of some importance, reached the Janus Checkpoints, passed her papers to the Inspector,
  • Her temple takes the form of her house, and even there she's careful, since she risks getting conked by a washtub. It always kills her, while it's usually merely concussive/an inconvenience for anybody else her size or bigger.
  • Speaking of, due to her fragility, and her title, she shares the same revival privileges as Viridian, Born, and Zee Tee; coming back to life in a few moments at the entrance of the sub-House she dies in.
    • As for her interactions with those three, the first accidentally killed her when he landed on her head from the ceiling (which he still apologizes for), she saw the third explode in blood while at a violent portion of the Pantheon, and she once followed the second around as he courteously left his paint long enough for her to catch up with him, wherever he was going.
  • As someone who's endured a ridiculous Platform Hell, Eryi gets a lot of respect from the Kid who (once) wanted to be The Guy. That said, neither he nor anyone else can see what Eyri sees in Farta.
  • Because of what she goes through, whenever she travels, she always moves erratically as if expecting a trap around every corner (which it often was in her game), only treading safely by tailing someone else since they're almost guaranteed to walk a path that's safe. This especially applies to people who are Walking Disaster Areas if they're sure to survive it, such as Nathan Drake.
  • Has determination that reaches nigh-masochistic levels, that even when the Trollkaiger do what they can to reset her progress through an area, she always persists, and they tend to give up after a while, just like with their attempts on Diogenes.
    • Because of that, she managed to befriend not only him, but the Human Child as well for their similar never-give-up attitudes, even if Frisk has more things to live for.
    • Some who know Kirby also drew parallels between her adventure and the pink blob's quest to get back his stolen cake. As for when they met, it's usually spent eating together, and cooperating if someone has the "bright" idea of stealing food from them.
    • Also because of that, there are those who worry that she might even think of crossing the gauntlet through the Yamato Perpetual Reactor (and consider the timer to go through it before Flynn or the Demi-Fiend catches up to her as a challenge) if given a really, really, really, really good enough reason. Given she went through several brutal levels just to retrive a melon she was about to eat, people are concerned that the Trollkaiger or the GUAD might actually consider using her for this purpose, even if just to waste Flynn's and Naoki's time. Of course, she has to have a reason to bypass Maximum Security first, though, which has its own slew of traps.

  • William Benjamin Brady was an ordinary man from Nebraska born in 1917. In his highschool days, he was a sports prodigy, offset only by his struggles with studying. And then he suffered a Career-Ending Injury, and that was the end of his football career. However, thanks to his friends, he barely managed to graduate.
    • At Manhattan, he tried looking for a job, and first tried out theater thanks to his good looks, but that didn't pan out either. He was at the end of his rope until he found an ad from National Bank that required only his looks to apply. Turns out it was to be their mascot Dollar Bill. With literally no options, he signed up.
    • At first, all he was was an actor to promote the company, until they had him answer a different hero-recruiting ad. Bill had reservations for actually getting into the fray against real robbers, but his sponsors thought it was all just flash and mirrors.
    • Turns out it's for real, the Minutemen are fully aware of what he is, and they want him in anyway to help promote their own team. Despite being nothing but an actor, Bill stepped up to the plate when it counted, and became a hero in his own right. With his fame and fortune, he tried his hand at Hollywood, only to be turned down (also by Sunset Boulevard, low-budget studios, and even porn productions) due to having been Typecast already as Dollar Bill.
    • On one fateful day, during a defense against robbers attacking a National Bank, after forcing them to flee, Bill gave chase, only for his cape—forcibly kept by the company despite his misgivings about it—to catch at the revolving door, giving them the perfect chance to kill him. His funeral was a highlight of the year, and there were many who attended.
  • When he found himself before the Court of the Gods, he also saw the other Minutemen present, and was glad to see Nite Owl and Silk Spectre (or at least their successors), though not the Comedian, and Rorschach was enigmatic as always. The trope he realized he was ascending for did leave him rather embarrassed, but with a second chance at life, he signed up.
  • Like all the Minutemen, he had his own share of glaring flaws that were fair-ish for the time he was in; he was sexist, a homophobe, and a hatemonger who cared more about his beliefs than the lives of others. Still, his clear commercial motivations (hired by a bank) were never commented on by his peers or the subsequent generation of vigilantes, who all seem to regard him as a worthy hero; even the cynical Rorschach lamented Dollar Bill's untimely death.
    • Of course, those flaws have gotten him in trouble with every non-white, female, and gay hero in the Pantheon, such as Lady Liberty, as well as those who don't share his views, particularly Captain America, whom Dollar Bill resembles. That said, Steve isn't that against him, given it's born from his time period and knows that Bill still means well.
  • Despite her scathing comments on his costume, given the trope he died for, Bill actually agrees with Edna Mode, and asked that she use his story as another cautionary tale against capes, if she already has. The Parr family were present to ensure the sexist Bill doesn't insult Edna during this deal.
    • While he would like her help with his costume, the mandate on his title demands he be seen with his cape (though he's permitted to remove it before a fight).
  • Having been a Corporate-Sponsored Superhero before his death (his current sponsor is the GUAG Superhero Division, though not as a mascot anymore), he's been given an invitation from Vought-American and a sponsorship offer. However, he's heard of their reputation from some members of the Seven (Queen Maeve and Starlight) and sees accepting the contract as a really bad idea, especially given the Homelander, A-Train, and Black Noir.
  • While he also met his demise via Cape Snag (though on a turbine), given his villainy (as well as having slain so many heroes with the Omnidroids), Syndrome is just another supervillain to Dollar Bill.
  • Thankfully for him, the House of Theater isn't as concerned about Typecast as the ones in the mortal realm are, and sometimes takes time off there.

@ Lavos: I imagine if it tries to pull that shit with Mogo, it's in for a nasty surprise. While I wouldn't say the C'Tan would be allies, they would be kindred spirits as the C'Tan also consume celestial objects, while finding souls tastier as Lavos finds sentient life it develops improves the meal. I doubt it would think much of Pennywise's boast of being "the eater of worlds".

Anything else for these two?

  • Respected by: Most heroic shonen deities and fans of the genre (and manga as a whole)
  • Weirded out by: The House of Time And Space
  • The Shōnen Demographic has Dragon Ball as it's quintessential series, and Akira Toriyama is its creator. A Reclusive Artist who found his passion in gag manga, he first found major success through Dr. Slump. However it was Dragon Ball, meant to be a short parody on Journey to the West, that exploded in the public eye. It's all the more impressive given he never plans ahead, being truly skilled at writing on the fly.
  • Akira Toriyama is a very private person and rarely makes public appearances, so he is hardly seen outside of his temple and communicates mainly through emails. He is more comfortable interacting with his Author Avatar, the Tori-Bot. In this form he is the most powerful being in the Dragon Ball series, even more so than than the Zeno. However he rarely uses this power and prefers to use it for gags, and it's assumed that because said power is because he's the creator of Dragon Ball the Tori-bot would be a Demigod in a reality that he didn't make.
  • His ascension drew the attention of the Dragon Ball gods, most of whom were perfectly fine with his ascension and meeting up with him. However a few weren't so happy.
    • Cell wasn't exactly pleased with Akira putting him Out of Focus compared to Frieza and to some extent Buu. Toriyama explained that part of it was because he hated drawing him, to which Cell said "well maybe if you didn't give me spots we wouldn't have this problem!". Frieza merely scoffed and said "it's funny, Toriyama wrote me to be hated and yet I'm an iconic and Love to Hate villain.
    • Beerus was initially scared at the idea of a being more powerful than the Omni-King, but soon found his fears assuaged because Toriyama was rather pleasant to him. He explained that he is based off his Cornish Rex Debo, who miraculously survived a serious illness. Toriyama seems fond of cats as a whole, and gets along with fellow cat-owning introvert Subaru Mikazuki.
    • Zamasu was the one Dragon Ball character to oppose Toriyama. His skewed view of the cosmos and narcissism means he absolutely refuses to accept the idea of a mortal being behind his existence, and he wishes to make Death of the Author a very literal prospect. Of course he knows he doesn't stand a chance against the Tori-bot, so instead he plans to ambush Toriyama outside of his own creations. This just further solidifies him as a figure of contempt.
  • Because of his immense power as the Tori-bot, the GUAM really wants him on their side somehow. Either by convincing him, or somehow using the Maverick Virus to convert the avatar to their cause. So far, no luck and Toriyama doesn't care about the GUAM. Madara Uchiha is more interested in him as a writer due to being a consummate utilizer of Serial Escalation. Just to get an idea; one of the more impressive feats of the original Dragon Ball was King Piccolo destroying a city. Now? We have characters on multiversal-level power levels.
  • Besides the Tori-bot, he also has an Author Avatar in the form of Tori(a bird with a pen nib for a beak) and a human with a surgical mask and "unfashionable" outfits. He even took the form of a Xenomorph once. He's a huge fan of the Alien series, which is why Frieza's third form resembles one and probably why Cell shares some qualities with one in his Imperfect stage. The former is all the more interesting when you consider Frieza's design was modeled in part by things he was scared of as a child. It might be the real reason why Frieza doesn't care for someone like the Tori-bot being far stronger than he is.
  • He's also a big fan of the Terminator series, along with Superman. Also a fan of Sun Wukong, which is pretty obvious when you look at Goku. In turn he has gained respect from many gods originating from manga, primarily shonen. Just don't ask for interviews, what with him being a Reclusive Artist and all. He did give interviews to the Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest deities, mainly because he's a character designer.
  • To make Frieza a Hate Sink, he modeled him after real estate spectators and loan sharks. To him, they're the worst kind of people. So he really doesn't like Moneybags. He approves of the Phantom Thieves for them trying to clean up Japanese society. The Thieves have tried to ask him if he thinks they could get through Frieza's palace and force a change of heart, and while he has become more Affably Evil over time, Akira's answer was still "no".
  • Akira Toriyama is OK with the House of Time and Space, but he kind of weird him out. This is because while he initially made a cohesive Alternate Timeline with him Terminator homage of the Android arc, the introduction of Cell created a Timey-Wimey Ball and he regrets all the timelines he created.
  • George can understand how Akira Toriyama must feel about the whole confusion with time travel, given his own experiences with it. The Author, already a fan, was interested in conversing with him. Toriyama is also friendly with the other mangaka in the pantheon. As a writer he is naturally opposed to the Nothing, and the obsessiveness of Annie Wilkes.
  • A likely factor in why Death Is Cheap in the pantheon; the world he created is known for death being cheap, up to and including whole universes. This has earned him the eternal ire of both Dhuum and Nekron, though it's one-sided as he doesn't care what they think outside, obviously, of the latter being an Omnicidal Maniac.

[up] You know what, here's a [tup].

@Hamana - Hmm, I guess you got a point. I'm still reserving Alith Anar, so the real issue revolves on Egil. I guess the best recommendation I can do is suggest "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot for the guy. The reason behind it is that the conflict in Xenoblade Chronicles occurs because Egil simply didn't bother to consider talking to Bionis about what can be done for a better world, which is why the war between Bionis and Mechonis kept going on. It's also one of the last things he has thought about and acknowledges that he should have done that, otherwise all that fighting and suffering wouldn't have happened, in addition to realizing that he and Bionis's Meyneth shared the same goal of having a "world without gods".

That, and Egil needs a rework. Badly.

Anyway, I've added enough for Group 1 and it was a tough effort. I'm now accepting approvals, though I'm still open to new suggestions, per usual. That said, I'm not sure what House would they fit in.

  • In a future, after Humanity began to decline due to the rise of a series of humans who possessed the power of psychokinesis, an order was established to overlook and monitor the well-being of those who possess such abilities. They were capable of manipulating matter and bending objects to their will near-effortlessly, but there was a catch; there came a modification in the human genome that prevented psychokinetic beings from killing one another, lest they were killed themselves by immediate retaliation. And even then to properly learn and control said powers was a difficult task as well due to its destructive capabilities. Despite this, humanity kept on persisting in its struggles, even after society had greatly regressed and after several horrific events, normal citizens and those with powers came to live in harmony, despite keeping away dark secrets.
    • One of the settlements in this dystopian world was Kamisu 66 in Japan. There, a sextet of students in-training of their psychokinetic powers resided which formed into Group 1. At first, their lives happen to be idealistic... until one of them, Reiko Amano, dies and is never bought up again, followed by the remaining five teens deciding to explore beyond their village boundaries. There, they discover much about historical events that led to the engineering of psychokinetic beings and the old age, alongside stumbling across the humanoid "Monster Rats", particular the noble, commandeering Kiroumaru and the sly, ambitious Squealer. Alongside those, the five teens were horrified and perplexed to discover and realize what they had not known and began questioning the motives of their village. Though the five make it through to late teenhood, one of them, Shun Aonuma, mysteriously departs. Though Saki Watanabe managed to find where he was hiding, it turned out that Shun had been turning into a karma demon and that he had accidentally killed his parents and destroyed his home village during his transitioning. Due to his powers becoming too swollen to control, he fatally imploded, though not before telling Saki he always loved her. Following this, the remaining members forgot about Shun ever existing, as it turned out that Kamisu 66 played a role in removing the acknowledgement of someone upon death, especially if they happened to be weak. More tragedy struck when Mamoru Itō suddenly vanished. Upon finding him, it was revealed that Mamoru was afraid to return to his village, considering that his abilities being weaker compared to his peers meant that his village was to execute him and erase Mamoru from their records. Maria Akizuki volunteered to stay with Mamoru and be looked after by the Monster Rats while Saki and Satoru Asahina departed back to the village, both pairs never seeing each other again...
    • In the following years, Saki became a worker for the "Department of Mutant Management" and Satoru decided to enlist in genetics on the Lotus Farm, specialising in light-based psychokinesis. There, the two receive confirmation that Maria and Mamoru had died a decade ago and that the Monster Rat alliances of Squealer, who was now referred to as Yakomaru, and Kiroumaru were in warring conflict against one another. During the investigation, Saki and Satoru discovered that Yakomaru was secretly grooming an "Akki", a psychokinetic being who was apparently immune to being killed off by killing one's own kind and exhibiting psychotic and murderous tendencies. To their horror, Saki and Satoru discovered the Akki to be the child of Maria and Mamoru, who was immediately taken in by Yakomaru upon immediately killing the child's parents and raising it to be a weapon against humanity, in addition to seeking revenge against how the Monster Rats were poorly treated and disregarded. After seeing the Akki utterly demolish Kamisu 66, with Saki's parents being among the casualties, Saki and Satoru decided to work with Kiroumaru in combating Yakomaru and his Akki alongside fellow psychokinetic user Inui, to travel to the submerged ruins of Tokyo and find the "Psychobuster" a weapon of mass-destruction creates by Americans to kill psychokinetic beings. Though the weapon was found and Saki was able to remember her deceased friends, Inui was killed in the quest and the Psychobuster was destroyed by Satoru to protect Saki in a battle against the Akki, prompting Kiroumaru to sacrifice himself once confronted by Yakomaru's Akki. Upon killing him, the Akki shortly died later, having thought of itself as a Monster Rat and cornering Yakomaru. Though Yakomaro was to be subjected to a Fate Worse than Death due to his actions, Saki opted to kill him out of pity and mercy privately. Later on, Saki and Satoru discovered the true origins behind the existence of Monster Rats but eventually decided that it was best to focus on the future and to improve society from here on out. They got married and continue on with their professional work and dreams whilst expecting a child.
  • A letter was delivered to Saki and Satoru, which spoke of their story and how they would potentially get a chance to reunite with their friends. This immediately caught the two's attention and decided to respond back with reading the letter further, looking at instructions for what to do. Saki and Satoru wasted no time in attending a location called the Court of the Gods. There, they were personally introduced by a bald man in a wheelchair and a green-looking humanoid, who introduced themselves respectively as Charles Xavier and the Martian Manhunter. Both stated that they personally decided to ask the Court to allow Saki and Satoru to enter a realm known as the Pantheon, which surprised the two as they were more focused on wanting to see their friends again. The two older psychics then proceeded to tell them how their story was an interesting, yet heartbreaking take, yet they also said that they were fine examples of good-hearted beings with a responsibility to their powers, which made Saki and Satoru smile. Finally, as a gift, Saki and Satoru were led into the Pantheon proper, with Maria, Mamoru and Shun eagerly awaiting them. Obviously enough, a tearful and happy reunion ensued with the five of them promising to always look after each other, whilst Professor X and J'onn J'onzz mused how they will be taking it upon themselves to look after and train the five of them.
  • When the five reunited, Saki and Satoru took their time to explain what they had gone through and what had happened ever since. While all of them were happy to see each other again, it was bittersweet to an extent. Shun, Mamoru and Maria expressed some form of emotional shock, due to their deaths. The situation regarding the latter two's child was nauseating and tragic, given that Maria and Mamoru wept considerably when they were told about it. Saki reaffirmed that Maria and Mamoru would have made great parents, which made them a little comfortable. And of course, there's an obvious age difference; Saki and Satoru are adults whereas Maria, Mamoru and Shun are still in their late-teen years as that was their age when their mortal coils were shed. Regardless, that difference means nothing to Group 1, who instead want to make sure they're always there for one another.
  • The members of Group 1 possess formidable telekinetic powers that can become better over time in regards to usage, creativity and damage output. And of the members, it is Shun who is the most proficient and talented of the group. That said, due to the dangerous nature of their powers, the Ethics Committee back in their world had to tamper the usage of power to never attack one's kind as doing so will result in killing one's self. Being raised pacifists, Group 1 are okay with leading a simple idyllic life, only using their powers under training or to defend themselves and their loved ones.
  • They were awed to discover the Pantheon, in a sense because many of the settlements, landmarks and locations were just like before the Old World disaster ever occurred and that it was a totally unique feeling and a sight to experience for them. Some of them, Maria, in particular, took to try flying around buildings for fun and some decided to display their powers to the public, who were surprisingly amicable with the sight. While it's likely because the population is used to see superpowers, it still made Group 1 comfortable enough to be seen as being accepted.
  • Unusual for any community, Kamisu 66 was encouraging towards teens to express their sexual desires as a way to exert as much stress as they could and to express it towards anyone around their age, regardless of their gender, and to find a way to control said stress and sexual urges. It should be noted that while Maria had romantic feelings with Saki and the same for Satoru and Shun, circumstances are different in the Pantheon. For one, Saki has a stable marriage with Satoru, not to mention Maria conceived a child with Mamoru, even if the end results were catastrophic. Shun decided it was for the best that they remain with their beloved, acknowledging Saki and Satoru's marriage and seeking to be there for them, alongside Maria and Mamoru who are understandably shaken up by how their mortal coils were shed.
  • Given that their powers are very familiar with a lot of deities, Group 1 quickly became friends with other telekinetic users like Ness and Lucas, two boys who took it upon themselves to save the world from evil forces, albeit like Group 1 themselves, Lucas went through more dire and tragic situations. Lucas's story, in particular, did upset Group 1 and left Mamoru in tears, but it still allowed them to strengthen their friendship with one another.
    • A trio of teenage boys were also a manner of interest for Group 1. That said, their issues contrasted in the sense that they had to deal with increasing peer pressure and one of the boys, Andrew Detmer, to suddenly snap and become a psychotic madman. Matt Garrety and Steve Montgomery got along quickly with the group, Matt especially with Saki as she respected Matt's desire to help others and his caring nature while Steve would often try to engage in a few sporty activities with Satoru and Shun. That said, Group 1 holds no animosity towards Andrew, even if he's a dangerous threat. After all, the guy has been through a lot of mental and physical trauma and is someone who needs help.
    • Another pair of psychics with tragic pasts included Fujino Asagari and Alma Wade. The former was a victim of rape and the experience of the event was what awakened her psychic powers, which she uses to target and kill other rapists. The latter was a child that seen as nothing other than an experiment, which resulted in Alma not having any care, love or attention given to her, all while being subjected to terrible experimentations and being killed off via pulling her out of life-support. As a result, she returned as a vengeful spirit hellbent on destroying the world in return. Group 1 sympathized with both, with Fujino being accepting of their company and seeing that they are willing to try helping her out regarding her personal issues. As much as they would like to help Alma, they've kept a good distance away, given that Alma herself is too reminiscent of an Akki.
  • Due to their affiliation with Professor X, Magneto also found some kind of intrigue with Group 1. In a sense, they're technically mutants, according to Magento as all of them have powers, though he's taken aback by how the inability to kill one's own species would render them helpless if their attacker was human. Magneto seeks to absolve this problem at some point and treats the group with respect and dignity. Group 1 themselves can tolerate Magneto and can sympathize with his tragic background as there is some similarity towards Squealer in that regard, but given his villainous actions, they privately admit to treading a thin line, not sure if what Magneto desires is for the best or not.
    • On a darker note, there is the superpowers beast, Gorilla Grodd, who also possesses potent telekinetic powers. Unlike Magneto, Grodd is a sadistic, merciless beast who has a deep, irrational hate for humankind and seeks to destroy it so apes can take over. While he acknowledges the powers of Group 1, he also makes it clear that he has no respect for them and that their powers pale compared to theirs. Due to Grodd technically not being a human, the group are willing to lethally battle against him, especially after Grodd mused that he would like to take a bite out of their brains, thinking it would make him stronger. In a sense, Grodd is essentially Squealer without any tragic background or a sense of sympathy going for him, even if the latter himself was responsible for the deaths of Maria and Mamoru.
    • On the subject of mutants, Group 1 immediately earned the fear and hate of William Stryker. Regardless of them coming from a different setting and universe, Trulyker remains glued to his perspective that Group 1 are mutants just for being engineered superhuman and they deserve punishment and death for those reasons. Obviously enough, they've come to despite Stryker due to his insane bigotry and willingness to kill child superbeings who mean no harm and even normal people who sympathize with those possessing superpowers.
  • Despite living in a seemingly peaceful setting, they were shocked to realize that upon learning and hearing from a Fallen Minoshiro, they were actually living in a wracked, depressing and dangerous setting years after the engineering of powered beings bought about the fall of civilization. Additionally, parts of information were to also be kept away in fear of them being discovered and used against them. This serves as a reason why the Pantheon, so far, has been seen as a far kinder world for them.
  • They immediately took to opposing against Big Brother and O'Brien. At least with Kamisu 66, while their methods were brutal and restrictive, they did much of their terrible actions because they genuinely believed that it was for the best. Meanwhile, Big Brother wants to preserve its own power for power's sake and sees severe human punishment and breaking their spirits as an example of keeping its goal preserved. Group 1 also took offence to O'Brien callously acknowledging that he tortures other solely to make a point and that a group of people who can "push and throw things with their minds" isn't going to be enough to stop either him or Big Brother.
  • On the topic of disarrayed world's, there was one where powered being known as Adepts quickly took over the world and had to be fended off by human survivors. Among them was Gunvolt, a feared, but ultimately well-meaning hitman who clashed against the Adepts from time-to-time. Meanwhile, there was Zonda, an Adept who took to establishing the Seven as a means to retaliate back against mankind for using them as experimentation and for being disregarded at. Group 1 became friends with Gunvolt due to their similar premises of having to survive in an unforgiving world and while sorry for Zonda and the Seven, do feel the need to fend him off as they are in no mood for negotiations.
  • To their utter surprise, Group 1 caught the interest of numerous anthropomorphic rodents, though fortunately, most of them turned out to be benevolent and only wanted to either befriend or pay condolences with the group. They were surprised to see how one of them, Mickey Mouse, is seen as a global icon and has saved his world a few times and played a role in the Keyblade Wars. Mrs. Brisby simply appreciates the five for their friendship and loyalty to one another and is eager to attend their services. Basil and Dawson are willing to record their entire story and compile it into a collection of notes, though the numerous depressing and harrowing events collected is rather intimidating for the two. Still, Basil and Dawson are committed to their task and have gained Saki's permission in getting to work. All in all, Group 1 found it a little hard to believe that they became well-acquainted with some rodents in the Pantheon.
  • In a darkly odd situation, Group 1 were simply having an ordinary, yet fun day, when Mamoru suddenly spotted a lone tire drifting along the pavement. At first, they decided to ignore it... until the tire became closer and suddenly stopped. Before any of them could check on what was going on, the tire suddenly rushed in high-speed, attempting to attack the five. Group 1 quickly took to pushing the tire back, but it wouldn't stop and eventually, Satoru decided to use up a good deal of his strength to swing and fling the tire as far as he could. That was their first time encountering Robert the Tire... and to the latter, it's not going to be the last time they meet either.
  • Regarding their thoughts on the other Houses and Domains, they are generally respected by the Houses of Friendship, Love and Power, the latter in which the Martian Manhunter personally looks after and trains them to be more proficient in their powers. That said, Maria and Mamoru are rather hesitant to attend the House of Family. Not that they have anything against the place, but they feel uncomfortable about bringing up their child as a conversational topic, let alone bringing them along as their herald. Seeing how uneasy they feel about it, Saki, Satoru and Shun also prefer not to mention the child either, though the House of Family have congratulated Saki and Satoru for bringing in their child for the future.
  • While the Monster Rats were a controversial topic for the group to talk about, they do feel some ounce of pity for them, given that they were test subjects when humans were seeking to create telekinetic beings and thus, were ostracised and mocked for it. While the Monster Rats had a cynical and tragic reason for why it opposes Mankind, the Beastmen of Chaos are nowhere near sympathy, essentially just hating humans and civilizations as a whole due to their tainted hatred and influence by Chaos. The threat of the Beastmen was dire for they intended to spare no one in their attacks, so Group 1 feels rather justified whenever they express their right to oppose them, especially Gorthor, who wants to wipe out as many people as he could to please the Chaos Gods. Khazrak, on the other hand, sees Group 1 as Worthy Opponents to fight against, a feeling that they don't reciprocate.
    • The Rat clan are an aggressive, but well-meaning race of humanoid rodents that are not above using espionage, trading and infiltrating into politics if it means preserving their kind and one of their leaders, Mercutio is very ambitious in his goal of one day, surpassing the King of Armello. Group 1, not really having gotten over with their ordeal with Squealer and the Monster Rats tend to ignore the Rat Clan, while the latter usually decide not to bother with the former as they have their personal matters to settle. That said, they do have a few mutual enemies, namely the Beastmen, due to their desire to destroy anything resembling civilization, where Group 1 and the Rat Clan have little choice but to form a temporary alliance.

[[folder: Lars Barriga]]

Captain Lars Barriga, God of Supernatural Hair Color Changes (Laramie, Barriga, Captain Lars, Lars of the Stars)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lars_capitan_by_citrine13.png
His original appearance
  • Lesser God. Formerly a Quasideity
  • Symbol:
  • Theme Song: Lars of the Stars
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good formerly True Neutral.
  • Portfolio: Locked into Strangeness, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Took a Level in Kindness, Real Men Wear Pink, Took a Level in Badass, Touched by Vorlons, Can't Stay Normal, Put on a Bus, Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass, Didn't Get Together with Sadie
  • Domains:
  • Heralds: The Off-Color Gems (Padparascha, the Rutile Twins, Rhodonite, and Fluorite), Dante and Martha Barriga (his parents).
  • High Priest: Juniper Lee
  • Followers: Isaac Sumdac, Lucien, Merlow
  • Allies: The Steven Universe Deities (except the Diamonds), Captain Gordon, Samus Aran, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Flynn Rider, The Gokaiger, Team Lightyear, Chewbacca, Star Fox
  • Friendly Rival: Jack Sparrow
  • Mentor: Han Solo
  • Enemies: Ridley, Black Manta, Risky Boots, The Zabis (except Minerva and Degwin)
  • Uneasy Relationship: The Diamond Authority, Rose Quartz
  • In the fantastic world of Steven Universe, Lars Barriga was a normal, but quite jerkass, teenager who got caught up often in Steven's many adventures. However, one day when Homeworld Gems took humans prisoner to be taken to Homeworld on the Diamond's orders Lars ended up being taken there even after all the other prisoners were freed when Steven took their place. Following an encounter with the "Off-Colors" a group of defective gems, he ended up having to defend them from Homeworld's elimination drones. He ended up dying after taking out the drones sent to shatter them, but Steven's tears resurrected him and gave him a set of powers such as slowed aging, a lack of needing to eat constantly as well as portal capabilities for his hair. After he let Steven go back home, he became Lars of the Stars, a more confident and nicer person who lead the Off-Colors in space adventures. While he later tried readjusting to a normal life after returning to Earth, he ultimately couldn't adjust properly and left for space once more to resume his adventures alongside his crew.
  • His ascension went quietly in the Pantheon, he mostly was informed of his new role as a God in it, which he accepted after having the whole process explained to him. In the Pantheon he mostly spends his time wandering around, usually in his spaceship with the Off-Color Gems accompanying him. His parents were also placed as his Heralds, initially the Court of Gods thought of also including Sadie among his heralds, but Lars declined that and said that while they were still friends, he ultimately moved on from Sadie and wants her to live her life quietly.
  • Was glad to encounter Steven in the Pantheon, he was distraught when he heard of Steven's growing issues and how he temporarily lost control of himself and somewhat guilty considering that he might've unintentionally played a part in said issues. For the rest of the ascended deities, Lars maintains a friendly relationship with two exceptions: Rose Quartz and the Diamond Authority. Though he's a bit unnerved by them given that they're all Diamonds who were once responsible for creating the machines that were hunting down the Off-Colors, he has grown more amicable to them after their genuine change of heart, though remains uneasy still.
  • As a Space Pirate, he enjoys the company of other more heroic outlaws, especially Han Solo who challenged Lars to a space race with Lars and the Off-Colors piloting the Sun Incinerator (which he stole once again from Emerald) to compete against Solo's Millenium Falcon. Ultimately Solo won out but he was still impressed by Lars' skills in leadership, especially coming from someone who was less experienced than him. Han has offered to take him under his wing and teach him a few more tricks, both so that Lars can become better at spacefaring and also so he can better defend himself against threats.
  • As he died and was resurrected by the magical tears of Steven, he became friends with Eugene/Flynn Rider, who also similarly died and was brought to life by Rapunzel's tears who herself also became friends with Lars. The two like to laugh a bit about how similar their situations were, as both had done a Heroic Sacrifice with no guarantee of surviving and were instantly resurrected by their mourning friend. Flynn is a bit intrigued with the fact that Lars Came Back Strong as a result of Steven's tears, as he himself was resurrected without any changes.

[[folder: Gabby Goat]]

Gabby Goat, God of Characters Taking a Long Time to Return

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gabby_goat550.jpg
His appearance in New Looney Tunes
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His sweater
  • Alignment: True Neutral or Chaotic Neutral depending on his mood.
  • Portfolio: Long Bus Trip of 80 years, The Bus Came Back, Jerkass, Deadpan Snarker, Toon, Hair-Trigger Temper, Foil to Porky.
  • Domains: Goats, Toons, Bus Trips, Reappearances
  • Followers: Christian, Dick Gumshoe
  • Allies: The Warner Bros. Deities (especially Porky Pig), Donald Duck, Michael Jordan, The Monstars, Eddie Valiant, Roger Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Goofy Goof, Benson, Squidward
  • Rivals: Daffy Duck
  • Enemies: Judge Doom, Plankton, Grogar.
  • Gabby Goat's creation came when the executives of Warner Brothers decided that Porky Pig, their most recent breakout star, needed a sidekick to rub off his blandness and niceness, for that purpose Gabby Goat was made to serve as Porky's Foil and friend. However, Gabby's jerkass attitude made him unpopular with audiences and the character was shelved and replaced with Daffy Duck, who proved a much more popular sidekick for Porky. However 80 years later, his character would finally return from obscurity to appear as a regular guest in New Looney Tunes.
  • After reviewing how he had disappeared from Looney Tunes media for 80 years, the Court of Gods approved of Gabby's entry into the Pantheon. Easily recognizable by his sweater, Gabby may ocassionalyl wear it colored yellow or red, mostly as a fashion choice.
  • He gets well along with the rest of the Warner Bros Deities, with one exception: Daffy Duck, whom he finds annoying and hateful due to having been one of the main reasons for his long absence from the Looney Tunes franchise, outside of his unpopularity. Though only in a rivalry sense that Daffy hardly reciprocates, as the crazy duck would rather torment Gabby for the sake of his amusement than care about any rivalry.

Three deities ascended, three approvals for the reward...

  • Guy Gardner - Jerk with a Heart of Gold and/or Heroic Willpower
    • Guy is an abrasive, cocky, arrogant and temperamental man who squabbles against his friends and superiors and is not above throwing a light shade of insult if things aren't going his way. That said, he's a Green Lantern and cares a lot for his friends and comrades, in addition to playing a role in saving his world and the universe a few times. And while Green Lanterns are usually the mascots of Willpower, Guy has proven himself to be the best example, which says a lot when the group has Hal Jordan, Jon Stewart and Kyle Rayner. Guy's Willpower is so strong and excessive, his own ring cannot contain it. His willpower even extends outside the ring as well as Guy can maintain control of his own individuality without slipping into Unstoppable Rage as a Red Lantern.
  • Beth Harmon - Viewers Are Geniuses
    • The Queen's Gambit is a series that places a very heavy emphasis on how chess is played, particularly by it's protagonist, Beth. Each move is calculated and researched and the show manages to both tell how chess is exactly played and how a game operates, with how each chess piece operates, what strategies are used and how much time does it take for a game to conclude. As a result, it's a show that requires a lot of thought and analysis to see what is going on.
  • Lionel Verney - Last of His Kind
    • The book is about the decline of Humanity in the then-future due to a mysterious plague. Lionel is the main, eponymous character so the book's events are told from his perspective, from his early life to gaining a high position in society, getting married and having to deal with the plague. The story ends with him being, well, The Last Man after seeing everyone he knew either die from the plague or from other circumstances.

[down] Let's see what others think first for the moment. It's best to see the reaction and thoughts before seeing what is the best option to go with.

[up]With the first one, I'm wondering to counter claims that "the amount of profiles in this franchise is too damn high", that he and the ascended Earth Green Lanterns(plus Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz if you want it) could be merged as a group profile under Heroic Willpower

@Crimson: [tup] to the last two... Abstaining on Gardner until more feedback is here

I got some new nominations myself too:

  • Cretaceous and Maelstrom, Co-Deities of Cold-Blooded Monsters
    • Reasoning: Their species is really messy. Within the film they're called "fish" and are shown to have some fish like traits, but they're really reptiles and the producers called them an Ichtyosaur and a Pliosaur despite them being more similar in appearance to a crocodylimorph Metriorhynchus and the mosasaur Globidens. The only aspect that goes unchanged for all this is that they're cold-blooded and presented as Predators Are Mean.

  • Greeza, Deified Negative Space Wedgie
    • Reasoning: Greeza is a sentient example of the trope, being described as a "hole" in reality that warps everything around it with its nature as an anomaly. Most notably, it can't really be destroyed under normal circumstances as it is not a physical being and radars don't pick up its presence, with human eyes simply perceiving the anomaly's effects as a physical thing. Likewise, it can only be contained by Reality Warper beings or by "sewing" it with a special "needle" inside of its void. And to boot, its sole purpose is to destroy living beings and everything in existence due to its nature.

So, something contended to me (not me specifically) that Roahm Mythril in Gaming Styles does not deserve the trope, because some Twitter controversy about him cheating on a speedrun that really, does not matter should effect his status here but his profile is rather ancient and short. Unless someone wants him, I dont think it will matter if he’s goneL

Also, speaking of profiles that I think should be reworked/gone, here are a few I will mention:

BrainScratchCommentariess should be updated or deleted because of what the heck their trope is and the ancientness. I know someone was interested in reworking them but that was a long time ago...

Eh, screw it. The House of Gaming needs a cleanup.

Those need to be reworked or deleted on poor profile grounds. Sorry if I mention these to users who are holding onto a rework,

[up][up] Accepted, though I admit that I'm probably only including the Earth Lanterns, which means Mogo, Abin-Sur and Kilowog get to keep their profiles. Weird, but still.

While an argument can be made in also having those three mixed in, I feel that with seven already well-established characters in, I'd feel that I'll be throwing in too much and I'll end up with a really bloated profile as an end result. Still, I'll see what you and others think about.
