Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Quick draft for Jagi.

A man who was trained in a martial arts school and was denied being a successor to a powerful martial arts, driving him to jealousy and wanting to tarnish the successor's name by any means necessary.

Aside from a better way to word his title, I'm looking additional interactions.

Jagi, God of Black Sheep (Twisted Butcher of Hokuto)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_legends_revive_jagi_1.png
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His mask
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: The Brute, Ax-Crazy, Combat Pragmatist, Facial Horror, Out of Focus, Small Role, Big Impact
  • Domains: Revenge, Resentment
  • Allies: Immortan Joe, Tai Lung
  • Enemies: Kenshiro, Max Rockatansky
  • Hokuto Shinken is a powerful form of martial arts that has existed for many years and can only be learned by those worthy of its abilities. Those who have mastered it include Kenshiro (who has inherited its skills proper), the messainic-like Toki, and the highly determined and driven Raoh. There is another member of the Hokuto Shinken school, but that member is so unlike the others that it's a wonder that he even knows about Hokuto Shinken. That man is Jagi, who was so enraged with Kenshiro being the successor to Hokuto Shinken that he challenged him to a fight and ended up having to wear a mask to cover his hideous face as a result of losing to Kenshiro. Jagi has since sought to tarnish Kenshiro’s name by any means necessary and his sadistic, psychopathic behavior is a stark contrast to how the rest of Hokuto Shinken’s practitioners normally are.
  • In a ruined town somewhere in the Pantheon, a scarred masked thug riding a motorcycle showed up and began threatening the people there, demanding them to say his name. Many of the denizens present were terrified and didn’t know who this man was, but someone confusedly said “Kenshiro” given the scars on that man’s body. The people started muttering to themselves that the Kenshiro they know wasn’t anywhere near close to this masked goon. Jagi’s patience (or rather, what’s left of it) ran out and started attacking everyone. He then learned from a nervous patron that Jagi was in the Pantheon, something that left him intrigued, especially seeing that this was a perfect opportunity to finally get back at Kenshiro for everything he’s done to him. Jagi then drove off to continue his rampage, leaving behind several bodies and some traumatized survivors, all to spite Kenshiro.
  • Jagi is but one of a number of post-apocalyptic maniacs looking to impose their power and make innocents suffer. He learned about Immortan Joe, another ruthless individual that wanted to conquer a wasteland and approached him directly, hoping to gain something from that meeting. Joe and Jagi exchanged information about their respective enemies, with Joe already having a notable hatred of Kenshiro being a good thing for Jagi. Jagi learned about Joe’s own enemy, Max Rockatansky (the latter of whom saw Jagi as just another thug waiting to be torn down) and Jagi was willing to target him if Joe allows it. Joe has his own ambitions of taking over a wasteland with Jagi being more of an independent force to instill terror on others, but they still remain good-enough friends for them to keep interacting with each other intermittently.
  • Tai Lung was someone who Jagi saw quite a bit of himself in given how they’re skilled at martial arts, but shunned by their masters and driven to a jealous rage. The main difference here is that Jagi was never a stable man to begin with and Tai Lung started off as someone with promise before turning evil. Jagi told Tai Lung that if he couldn’t get what he wanted initially, then there would be something much greater, with that something being Hokuto Shinken. Tai Lung was rather curious about this Hokuto Shinken style and it was clear that Tai Lung having access to that (and Nanto Seiken) was a highly troubling possibility. While Tai Lung hasn’t gotten close to knowing the true capabilities of Hokuto Shinken, he does see Jagi as a kindred spirit that can help him get closer to fulfilling his personal revenge over being denied martial arts greatness.

[up] Well, Balrog is someone who's known for fighting dirty. Maybe appreciated by John Kreese given how Cobra Kai tends to be very focused on being pragmatic and ruthless towards your opponent, which Jagi evidently is. On that note, he'd be opposed by Johnny Lawrence as being a dirty fighter happens to be a Berserk Button of his.

Like I said before, Pokemon Partnerships should be renamed to Mon Partnerships as we have Digimon partnerships as well and said page could also be given an update as well.

Any thoughts and suggestions about this idea?

Back to posting my Indominus/Indoraptor? Is there anything else that could be added for them or are they good to go?

  • Fears: The Liopleurodon, The Meg (Indominus only)
  • Dinosaurs are awesome. After all, this is the primary appeal of Jurassic Park, and later on, Jurassic World. The very idea of seeing animals that have been long gone for millions of years is beyond an exciting prospect. So when audiences eventually start getting bored, what is the solution? To create a brand new dinosaur using the DNA genes of other dinosaurs as a way to boost ticket sales. Hence, the Indominus Rex came into being, marketed as a predator that could rival the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Velociraptor in every way and being biologically enhanced. The results were better than expected... and not for good reasons when the Indominus escaped and wrecked Havok on Jurassic World. Despite the successful efforts of a pack of Raptors, a Tyrannosaur, a Mosasaurus and some of the park's staff members to stop the animal, she had already done enough damage to warrant Jurasic World a complete shutdown.
    • The Indominus's legacy, however, would continue on as InGen was able to collect a sample of its DNA to create a successor of sorts, the Indoraptor. Because of the unstable genetics used in the cloning process, the Indominus was sick and required a blood transfusion from a Velociraptor to live. All of these efforts were for nought; the last surviving raptor, Blue, was given a blood transfusion from a Tyrannosaur, effectively eliminating the cure and the Indominus himself was killed while trying to hunt a group of humans, two of which had combated against the Indominus three years ago.
  • The Indominus had been a Pantheonic resident for quite some time. Some report that she was there since the early years of the House of Beast, though it took her quite some time before she made her presence and reputation known. The Indoraptor, on the other hand, seems to be a more recent entry, at least compared to the Indominus. Tellingly enough, they engage in brutal battles against one another as the two dinosaurs hardly had any social development during their mortal lives, not to mention they were specifically made to be weapons for combat. When most people talk about InGen in the Pantheon, it's usually out of disappointment and shame, a reminder made by the Indominus and Indoraptor.
  • They are easily among the most feared beasts in the Pantheon. Aside from the fact that they're cloned to be weapons, they're surprisingly sociopathic in nature. Many of their hunts are calculated and it's often reported that they kill more than how many corpses are needed to sustain their bodies. The Indominus is more exposed, as it's sometimes seen in open woodland, whereas not much is really known about the Indoraptor, though there are reports of the dinosaur being seen in more enclosed areas and indoor buildings.
  • InGen documents have revealed that there were plans and experimentations for hybrid dinosaurs since the earliest years of the 21st Century. One of the more physical pieces of evidence to suggest this was the Spinosaurus that a rescue team encountered back in 2001. Furthermore, the Spinosaurus was never on InGen's list of cloned dinosaurs. This proved that the Spinosaurus was a prototype for cloned hybrids as the dinosaur was still an actual animal, albeit so thoroughly modified it was almost wholly different from it back in prehistoric times. The Indominus was a more successful product that was to be reduced in size to create biological weapons. The Indoraptor is the end result of that project, a savage killing machine meant to be a powerful force of nature, intended to be used by military forces.
  • While they are normally seen in the House of Beast almost no one likes the two. The Indominus and the Indoraptor make sure to get as many kills as possible and their presence has led to many forms of security protocols to be enacted to keep the fauna safe. Because of the technological advancements that have been made, the House of Beast has struck a deal with the House of Technology to use better equipment to track the two and notify herds of animals from the Indominus and Indoraptor as much as possible.
  • Rexie and the Raptor Pack haven't forgotten about their ordeal with the Indominus one bit, especially given that she was responsible for Charlie's death and directly killed Echo and Delta. While Rexie and the Raptors don't meet up all that often, they'll pack up together when it comes to dealing with the Indominus. The Gang of Seven and Speckles don't like her either, with the former doing the best they could to keep her away from the Great Valley and the latter making sure his family and especially his son aren't harmed.
  • For all of her viciousness, the Indominus makes no attempt to go close to deep watery bodies. She remembers all too well how her mortal coil was shed and she doesn't like to be reminded by it. The very notice of the Liopleurodon and the Meg are simply enough to terrify her into backing away as much as she could from seawater. Because of his lack of experience outside of indoor confines, the Indoraptor is rather fearless towards them, but given his size, he also tends to back away from the Liopleurodon and the Meg.
    • Made even worse by the fact that the Liopleurodon's High Priest is the very same Mosasauus that killed the Indominus. Because of this, she just cannot fathom how strong apex predators of the ocean really are.
  • Regarding humans, Alan Grant really has nothing good to say about them. While he's always remained critical towards InGen for creating what he thinks are "theme park monsters", he firmly believes the company stooped a new low with the creation of the Indominus as a park exhibit and the Indoraptor as a genetically engineered weapon to use in wars. Isuzu Sento initially liked the idea of a dinosaur theme park and doesn't mind many of the cloned dinosaurs, but she vehemently opposes the two for largely the same reasons as Dr Grant and is arming herself with special ammunition to combat them just in case. Similarly enough, Regina has caught notice of this and has already armed herself enough, knowing how to handle dinosaurs given her experience in Ibis Island and Edward City.
  • H'annit also sees the Indominus and Indoraptor as genetic abominations that have to be stopped at all costs. The presence of the two dinosaurs reminds H'annit of a beast that hunted for self-satisfaction and glee, so her reasons are rather personal. And no, she doesn't excuse the beasts's poor living conditions and treatment to be sympathizing factors either.
  • As with all other creatures, Hunter J has made plans to capture the Indominus and the Indoraptor for a massive bounty. Unfortunately for her, she grossly underestimated the power and aggression the two beasts possessed. The Indominus was able to nearly wreak Havok on J's ship and while she did try to remain more cautious about the Indoraptor, she was nearly killed when he snuck into her ship and was only saved by her Drapion and Ariados.
  • While it is undoubtedly a savage and brutal killing machine, the Indoraptor appears to have a very dishevelled and sickly appearance at times, such as small skin peels and even spasms on occasion. This is the result of the dinosaur having a very unstable genetic code that rendered it having a short life. Yes, it could chase down animals for long periods of time, but it's also rather clumsy and reckless, especially compared to the Indominus.
  • While there may be no hope of redemption for the two, it should be noted that the Indominus and Indoraptor became the way they were because they were kept isolated from every other living lifeform, given little to eat and was treated with some form of disrespect by InGen workers. One does have to wonder how the Indominus and Indoraptor would have acted like if they were raised properly.
    • That said, the Indominus killed and ate its sibling upon birth, so there may have been the case that the Indominus (and by extension, the Indoraptor) were always savage killers with little-to-no social approach in the first place. The Siblings Sub-House express disgust and fear abut this information and have urged the House of Family to prevent the Indominus and Indoraptor from ever coming there.
    • Despite this, Rau Le Creuset treats the Indominus and Indoraptor with some degree of sympathy and highlights their existence and personality as proof of humanity's self-destructive nature. More often than not, Rau will often try to see if he can use the two dinosaurs to his advantage. Of course, he can't come close to them without the Indominus and Indoraptor wanting to attack him. Additionally, Rau was also the one who allowed the Indominus and Indoraptor to join the Pantheon.
  • The Grand United Alliance of Evil and Grand United Alliance of Destruction are interested in finding and using the Indominus and Indoraptor for their own ends. That said, the dinosaurs's antisocial and territorial nature makes them very difficult to come across. Albert Wesker and Malekith have also considered capturing the two hybrid dinosaurs for their own ends, with Wesker wanting to experiment further upon them and Malekith seeking to improve the might of the Dark Elves with a brand new mount.
    • Their bloodthirsty nature earned the approval of Howard and Kreese, who have expressed a desire to have the Indominus and Indoraptor be featured in their newest iteration of Death Watch. Shao Kahn has also seen the hybrid dinosaurs with savage glee and has thought about having the two be kept as beasts of execution in his Mortal Kombat tournaments. He intends to feed the two any losing combatants in the tourney both as punishment and as amusement.
  • Surprisingly get along well with the Goliath, a similar creature that has genetic engineering as it's source of origin. They're one of the only creatures the Indominus and Indoraptor care to have around their territory and the Goliath is more than happy to reciprocate by fighting alongside the dinosaurs against perceived threats.
  • The Indominus has an enmity against the Nostalgia Critic, of all people, considering that he degraded the beast as "Coke-2" and "Pussysaurus". She's been making several advanced towards the House of Profession in an attempt to devour the critic. The Indoraptor seems ambivalent as to what the Nostalgia Critic thinks about him.
  • While the Indominus is smart, most have claimed that she wouldn't have been able to escape from her exhibit regardless, claiming that some sort of foul play was involved. Given the situation of the Isla Nublar operation in 2018, the Indoraptor and the machinations of InGen to create weaponized dinosaurs, they may have a point about it.

[up] [tup] Looks good as it is.

Final draft for Johnston. Is there anything else I need to add here or is it good to go?

Johnston, Patron Saint of Overrated Legendary Characters (DD-557, Radio Call Sign "NIKZ", Callsign "Brasslock", Amerikaze)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johnston_kai_full.png
Johnston Kai
  • Demigoddess
  • Symbol: A model of the USS Johnston
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: A character with a legendary reputation who turns out to be mediocre in actual combat, Born Lucky, Named After Somebody Famous, who in this case is a man, Having been foreshadowed months prior with equipment that she uses, Phenotype Stereotype, Having several smaller historical details on her costume
  • Domains: Legendary Characters, United States, Destroyers
  • Allies:
  • Enemies:
  • Opposes: Cole Phelps, Takeo Masaki
  • Pities: Suzu Hojou
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Yamato, Shimakaze
  • Johnston, who is the personification of the Fletcher-class destroyer of the same name, is, based on her historical counterpart's own service record, a pretty legendary character. Like Yuudachi's historical counterpart, she is best known for performing well in surface combat before being sunk by enemy action. Unlike Yuudachi, however, her surface combat ability leaves much to be desired, as, despite her reputation, she is woefully average in it. So average, her firepower is actually similar to that of fellow American ship Samuel B. Roberts, whose historical counterpart was a destroyer escort that had half the firepower and displacement.
    • Despite this huge disappointment, however, her Anti-Air and anti-submarine warfare skills are still considered to be one of the best among the destroyers. If anything, it can be considered as a Necessary Drawback, allowing her to do more without being utterly broken.
  • Of special note is her costume, which has some pretty nice attention to detail to it. These include: a Medal of Honor on her left arm (which references her late captain earning the medal posthumously for his actions in combat), her ribbons spelling out her historical radio callsign (which in this case is NIKZ, or November India Kilo, and Zulu), and a bronze star and silver star on her collar (which are based on the 6 Battle stars the historical ship received).
  • Like fellow American ship girl Iowa, Johnston's ascension was arranged as a joint operation by both STEC's personnel and The Admiral, as a sign of goodwill. In addition, the members of Black Cat Mantaray 5-4 and many of the WWII-era US Marines had vouched for her.
  • Upon her ascension, she immediately begins working alongside her fellow shipgirls in fighting against the Abyssal Fleet. Despite her drawbacks, she still manages to hold her own against both the regular units and the far more powerful bosses. When not fighting the Abyssal Fleet, she is often seen in the company of Iowa.
    • In addition, she's also seen hanging around with the crew of Black Cat Mantaray 5-4, who have a history of working alongside Fletcher-class destroyers during the Battle of Okinawa. Often, Johnston can be seen accompanying them in rescuing of deities stranded at sea, especially if they've been attacked by the Abyssal Fleet beforehand.
  • Isn't too fond of working alongside IJN ship girls Yamato and Shimakaze, due to their historical counterparts' role in her own's demise.
  • While they are related historically, with both of them being personified Fletcher-class destroyers, O'Bannon is rather disappointed that the Johnston that has been ascended is not from the same universe as her own. Nonetheless, they both get along really well, with Johnston's anti-aircraft and anti-submarine skills complementing O'Bannon's
  • Is among the few ship girls to get along really well with President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It helps that the American President is hugely fond of the US Navy (having served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy during World War I).
    • John F. Kennedy also comes to respect her, due to both being veterans of the Pacific Theater. They even show each other the awards they had earned for their service.
  • Sgt. Thomas Conlin is rather jealous of her Medal of Honor. For bonus irony, Conlin's own series is named after it, despite the Marine Sergeant himself never earning one. Nonetheless, he and the rest of his squad appreciate having her around, especially when they're in need of offshore fire support.
  • Absolutely loathes Commander Masataka Shima and his allies in the Imperial Japanese Army, the Banzai Chargers, due to their attempted assassination of The Admiral. It's because of this that she also aids Pvt. Miller, Sgt. Roebuck, and Pvt. Polonsky in hunting the warmongering Japanese down.
  • Is rather disgusted by Cole Phelps' past as a Marine, due to a questionable act he ordered his squad to do, not to mention having gotten many of them killed due to his mediocre leadership. This is especially true when she finds out that he had earned the Silver Star just because he was the Sole Survivor of a disastrous battle.
  • Pities Suzu Hojou's traumatic experiences During the War, much like many of the Marines and Navy sailors who had met her prior. It also helps that unlike Shima, she's a noncombatant who had no clue of what her country's military was doing.
  • Is among the Allied ship girls being targeted by General Heinz Bohm and his Ms 300 "Razor" missiles. Like with Warspite and Iowa, the German General intends to film her demise as part of a Propaganda Piece that he intends to show to the rest of the Pantheon as warning.

The Taken, Those Who Leave No Corpse Behind

  • Banned from: The House of Nature and The House of Plants
  • Pitied by/Horrifies: Anyone who have been attacked in the mind, brainwashed, and/or been corrupted
  • The Taken, an army of corrupted husks of other alien races and species twisted into servitude of Oryx and other masters who Took them. With violently twitching movements and darkened bodies burning with a white flame it would be remiss to not think of them as anything short of otherworldly. Before talking about them any further let's go back in time. Way back. Way before the death of Cayde-6 and the Red War, the SIVA Crisis and the Taken War, way before the death of Crota, and way before humanity even came to be. To the early beginnings of what the universe will now call the Hive and the three siblings that led them: Xivu Arath, Savathûn, and Auryx (who will later be known as Oryx). They were in a tough spot in their war with the Ecumene as they pressed an advantage in pushing back the Hive and their warpath across the stars, each loss making their worms hungrier and hungrier still. In a ploy to stave off their oncoming annihilation Auryx slew his two sisters to gain an audience with Akka, The Worm God of Secrets, whom he soon sliced to bits to learn the secrets of calling upon the Deep (in other words The Darkness) and enscribe the Tablets of Ruin, gaining the ability to Take. With this he turned the war back to the Hive's favor, subverting the Ecumene's forces into his own. Through war, Oryx revived Xivu Arath and through tricking the surviving foes he revived Savathûn. With their combined and renewed strength the three Hive Gods obliterated their foes and continued their crusade across the stars.
  • Oryx's presence alone had already amassed quite a number of Taken upon ascending to the Pantheon. That much is obvious, of course they would follow The Taken King into the Pantheon's brave new world even after his untimely demise. But as feared as they are and the potential they bring various gods mainly focused on Oryx as the big threat in the end. It wasn't until various bases across the Pantheon have simultaneously gone dark in addition to the Guardians reporting a drastic spike in Taken signatures did they get a bearing on what was happening. And before long the Taken's number have increased to such a degree that they have laid claim to their own space and title within the Pantheon. While this has once again drawn much attention to the God-King of the Hive other deities have suspected something a bit greater in play for the Taken to mobilize this quickly. While many guesses attribute this to several members of the GUAD others have pointed to the indirect presence of Oryx's siblings since his death back home has indeed left a place for an Evil Power Vacuum to occur. And Savathûn was known to have possession of Quria, Blade Transform, who can simulate Taking...
  • Part of what makes the Taken so very dangerous is the various "inexplicable and physically illegal abilities" they are granted upon being, well, taken. The process of turning into such horrific monstrosities they violate reality through mere presence alone involves the helpless victim being forced into the Ascendant Realm, being Mind Raped while having their fears and other insecurities broken down by The Darkness itself. They are then offered odd powers that actually alleviate their troubles should they choose to serve a greater purpose. For example, do you have nothing to call yours? You can now create a domed forcefield. Are you a rare, frail specimen among your peers? Now you can duplicate. It goes on. And they make damn good use of their new powers.
    • Having depleted numbers from various other factions outside their universe the various powers at play have only gotten more and more diverse. To be Taken, a living host must be in contact with a portal or aperture. Of course, the requirements for a living being is very broad which is why you see beings like the Vex and various Daleks (whose Taken forms are noted to appear to be in pure still, one they can induce on others within their gaze). The likes of the Grineer, Corpus, and Infested seem to have not taken the attack well, being reminded of the Corrupted born from their numbers being subverted by old Orokin defenses and have either tried forming countermeasures for future attacks or doubled down on their efforts against Oryx and the Hive as a whole. It didn't take long for The Tenno to also make such a connection themselves and have also participated in driving back their infestations across the Pantheon.
  • Barring higher ranked individuals the Taken as a whole are practically a mindless swarm if there's no leadership in the picture. It holds true in the Pantheon as some of its allies like the GUAD are made thanks to Oryx's connections to said alliance. Having said that the Taken do appear to hold a instinctual amicability with the various Heartless, likely owing to their shared connections to darkness though whether or not its of the same is another story entirely. Many of the Keyblade wielders did not like the thought of the Taken allying with the Heartless and have joined with the Guardians in opposing them. Thankfully, their alliance with the Heartless didn't also include the likes of Xehanort and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness due to the very specific requirements needed to command and control the Taken compared to the Heartless. That, and many of the Taken's masters are Omnicidal Maniacs. Still, they seek to use the Pantheon as a beachhead to infest other worlds, and that is something they cannot stand for.
    • The Taken appeared to share a similar connection with the Fearless Undead known as the Scourge as despite appearances the Taken can indeed be seen as The Undead in a more fantastical sort of way. It would help that, in the wake of the civil war between those who follow Arthas Menethil and Bolvar Foredragon there are some who have looked to Oryx as another Lich King. Despite the Hive's staunch opposition to true necromancy Oryx decided to leave this matter alone like with some of his partnerships, if only to use them as how he sees fit. Conversely, because Oryx despises Galakrond despite being another undead being who shares his views the Taken have dictated him to be their enemy too. Of course, a direct attack wouldn't do much to the Ur-Dragon (as their first master had demonstrated earlier, even if it was quite the effort compared to many) but that hasn't discouraged other plots in opposing him.
  • As the Taken are essentially heavily brainwashed cannon fodder of various other races that stood in Oryx's way the Taken have no doubt horrified many who have suffered attacks on the mind and/or been brainwashed and relieved of free will themselves. In fact, many who hate the very idea of people's free will being relieved have made themselves enemies of the Taken, like with Eizen for example, if only to further oppose The Taken King and also mercy kill these poor fools.
  • The tears in reality they leave behind, commonly referred to as Blights, aren't just for show. When enough of it is exuded they form into spherical balls of darkness and though on the surface being just a short distance away is debilitating it can do a whole lot more. Inter-dimensional communication nodes, shield generators, portals to the Ascendant Plane, and even area-denial thanks to be naturally poisonous to the world. This radiation of theirs from such matter can permanently damage beings unless if they have reality bending powers like the Guardians with their Light, which stand antithetical to the Darkness. At one point, the Taken tried to exploit this trait of theirs to poison the water supply of a community but they were stopped before any lasting damage could be wrought. This, of course, has alarmed the Houses of Nature and Plants and the two have enacted a ban and a kill on sight rule further helped by the GUAN and later the GUAG. The former may be a bit of a moot point considering the Taken lack of adherence towards terrestrial constraints. Barring shooting them, of course, but be pick your shots wisely.
  • Their status as an infection on a metaphysical level heavily contrasts with the Flood, parasites who infest other species on a more biological level as many parasites do. Though this does little to detract from the actual threat they represent. Countless times have the two infections encountered each other in combat in a bid for more influence and power, and their battles are no less devastating to the world around them. Meanwhile, Isaac Clarke could not help but oppose the Taken and has shot down several in his journeys. They may not be as visceral as the Necromorphs but other than that Isaac could scarcely see much of a difference when he breaks it down.
  • Despite all odds, it is indeed possible to cure someone of being Taken. It's not a widely applicable privilege, however, as many regard victims of being Taken no better than the deceased. Toland stated that all Taken are in perpetual ecstasy in their newfound existence though if the Techeuns are of any actual indication such claims are complete BS. Every waking moment was pure agonizing torture and were fully aware of what they are doing but had no way of stopping themselves. These reports line up with others drawn by gods in the Pantheon who at one point or another had been Taken themselves.
    • The Batter and Meridia are greatly disgusted by the Taken's existence and have thus tried their hand at purifying them. Unlike with what happened to the Techeuns theirs is objectively not a perfect process though the two have insisted otherwise. "It's better this way," they claim. Battles between the Taken and the Batter along with Meridia's Purified have been fought almost endlessly.
  • Their forces can be found in a variety of places out and around the Pantheon though whether or not they are indeed coordinated by a superior or are just acting on mindless instinct changes from place to place. Taken move through dimensions as Vex do across realities and their place in Pantheonic godhood has only logically amplified that. They're even found in the corrupted Farmstead controlled by The Sleeper and King Allant's Boletaria. While they are indeed hostile to the Magic Meteor such sentiments to Allant even if they are far from the definition of demons themselves nor do they have any intentions of truly siding with him and the Old One. Perhaps this could be a rare case of mutual interest, what with his goals not being too far off from the Hive's. The utter annihilation of all life versus the very last being standing in the ashes of everything line up similarly enough for the time being.
  • Even if their leaders are all dead the Taken will last for a long time. A very, very long time. There's two hypotheses as to how long they will last: Either A) They will live on until the Solar System's sun burns out or B) They're around forever. Mind you, it's not scientifically proven but it doesn't sound pretty either way...
Take up the knife. Apocrypha awaits. Take your new shape.

@R-lock: Jean-Pierre Polnareff's stand Silver Chariot's design is based off of Jagi and his helmet, though I'm pretty sure Polnareff would hate Jagi and finds him to be as much of a scoundrel as J. Geil. Jagi would relate to Frost since they both at first aimed to be the best in their respective martial arts schools but their disfavour by the very masters they seek approval from caused them to defect and betray; I guess they would be Friendly Rivals at best.

King Midas, God of The Transmuting Touch

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2142.jpg
A painting of Midas with donkey ears
  • House: Physical Powers (House of Power)
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: A hand made of gold
  • Theme Song: Gold by Imagine Dragons
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: The Midas Touch Wishing He Could Turn Things To Gold With A Touch,Including Food And Water, Accidental Murder By Touching His Daughter, Sacred Hospitality, Sometimes Gets His Powers Undone And Her Daughter Revived
  • Domains: Greed, Gold, Royalty, Wishes, Tragedy
  • Complicated relationship with: Bacchus (well, Dionysus)
  • Sought by: The SCP Foundation
  • Allies: Timmy Turner, Ebeenzer Scrooge, The Trix Rabbit, Firestorm, Edward Elric, Cassim and Aladdin, Pinocchio
  • On good terms with: Scott Summers
  • Enemies: Calypso, Tywin Lannister, Walder Frey, Smaug, Fafnir, Heihachi Mishima, The Coachman, the Grand United Alliance of Destruction, Jason Grace
  • Opposes: Kratos, Apollo
  • Pitied by: The Houses of Family and Food, Genie, Scrooge McDuck, Mr Krabs, Fred C Dobbs
  • Confused by: Larfleeze
  • Be careful what you wish for, and you might just get it. King Midas was given a wish by Dionysus, and the wish he chose is to turn what he touched into gold. At first it worked well; Midas got to appeal to his greed and make twigs and plants gold. But the touch didn't discriminate, and turned food and drink to gold. In some stories, even his own daughter wasn't immune to his utter horror. Though a terrible fate, some tales have a mercy with him washing his hands in the river Pactolus to undo it after praying to Dionysus. This is why it's thought the river sands have an abundance of gold and electrum.
  • Tragically, in the original myth his wish was granted due to observing Sacred Hospitality; he gave hospitality to Dionysus' old satyr schoolmaster Silenus. Naturally, he is as disgusted as anybody would be for Walder Frey's great breach of guest right. Frey's "ally" Tywin takes a more sinister opinion on Midas; he's an idiot but he can be used to replenish the Lannister coffers.
  • Even after dealing with one curse, Midas still made mistakes. He claimed that Pan was a better musician than Apollo, who thought he must've had an ass's ear to think so. Guess what happened. At least it's not as bad as what the Coachman did, who he is very disgusted by. Having narrowly avoided the full ass treatment, Pinocchio sympathizes with his second curse and Midas wants to work with Pinocchio to bring the Coachman down.
  • Because of his power turning food and drink to solid gold, he is pitied by the House of Food. But the House of Family pities him for a larger reason; inadvertently turning his own daughter to gold. As this was utterly unintentional, King Midas is as disgusted as anyone that Heihachi Mishima wants to off the offspring.
  • Scrooge McDuck might go so far as swimming in money, but after seeing what happened to King Midas he just wants to give him a hug for his misfortune. Mr Krabs showed some pity as he had a similar problem; he wished to be able to talk to money, but they talked back to him and hated him being a cheapskate and not spending them. Granted the problem was a lack of riches, but he still relates to Midas in how their greed bit them in the ass. As does Fred C Dobbs, who's greed led to his death.
  • King Midas finds himself relating to Timmy Turner as they both have a problem with not thinking their wishes through. Genie pities how bad his wish went, and he sometimes relates to Scott Summers over Power Incontinence. Naturally he gives Calypso the stink eye for twisting wishes into something negative for the user. He also relates to Ebeneezer Scrooge in how their greed bit them in the ass and they learned a lesson from it.
  • Sought after alchemists for advice about the touch, fully aware of the irony his curse is one of the main goals of the field. He ended up meeting Edward Elric, who's skill in alchemy let him reverse some of the damage his Midas Touch did...to an extent. His alchemy uses Equivalent Exchange, it's not magic and doesn't violate issues of density like turning things like bark to the much denser gold does. Firestorm's ability to change elemental compositions was handy for Midas, though he's stated organic transmutation is a whole different manner.
  • Both Smaug and Fafnir would love to harvest the Midas Touch to give them as much gold as their greedy hearts desire. The House of Commerce is trying to protect Midas from exploitation, since the more gold he'd make, the less valuable the gold market would be.
  • The GUAD recognizes the potentially apocalyptic potential of turning things to gold with a touch. If he can turn water into solid gold, they might be able to use the Midas Touch on the ocean and dehydrate the majority of life on Earth. The SCP Foundation recognize the danger as akin to SCP-009 and will shelter him from the GUAD.
  • Though Midas is given relief from his curse in some universes, in others he's not so lucky. One had him seek an end, to which Kratos gave him one...in a river of lava. Midas was infuriated by this as he wanted a Mercy Kill, though Kratos has softened up over then and has apologized for not making his end swifter.
  • Another timeline implies that his hand and its ability to turn things to gold will survive him. It's the treasure that Cassim was looking for, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it compared to his family. King Midas respects the King of Thieves and his son, and upon learning of their endeavors welcomes any visit from them.
  • Thought to have learned his lesson, but some say he never learned his lesson about greed. Only how reverse its effects with running water. He even turned his daughter back into a gold statue after he decided he prefers her that way, as well as several others. he was beaten when Jason blew open a hole in his roof with lightning, undoing the effects on his victims and leaving him at their mercy. Midas insists that was a case of Came Back Wrong and not the real him.
  • Some wonder why King Midas didn't just wear gloves, and he admits it might've worked but hindsight is 20/20. Definitely doing so now that he's in the pantheon. Larfleeze has expressed pity for him, but for the completely wrong reason; if he turns more things into gold, he devalues it by making the stuff less rare, and that doesn't work for his greedy mind. For that reason the Orange Lantern wouldn't want him or his powers.

Ammit, Goddess of Post-Mortem Non-Existence (The Devourer of the Dead, Eater of Hearts, Great of Death, Ammut, Ahemait)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5daa19ba722351c77897cb5851e20fa85930681f.jpg
Artist's interpretation of Ammit
  • House: Afterlife Entities (House of Life and Death)
  • Intermediate Goddess
  • Symbol: A scale with the heart outweighing the feather of Ma'at
  • Theme Song: Ammit, Devourer of Souls
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Soul Eating To End The Afterlives Of Sinners, Mix-and-Match Critters, Has The Head Of A Crocodile, Our Demons Are Different
  • Domains: Monsters, The Afterlife, Death and Annihilation, Chimeras(Crocodile, Lion and Hippo)
  • Interests: Jabba the Hutt
  • Allies: Osiris, Anubis, Cerberus, Ramon, Dhuum, Flynn, Nanashi, Tadano Hitonari, Hibiki Kuze, Bolvar Fondragon
  • On speaking terms with: Reapers and psychopomps, Silvally
  • Rivals: The Dementors
  • Enemies: Apophis, AM, Voldemort
  • Avoided by: Marceline the Vampire Queen, the Forms of Immortality and Manners of Revival sub-houses
  • Feared by: All deities from Ancient Egypt, those who faced the Dementors, Captain Hook, Malty S Melromac
  • The Land of the Dead can be a dangerous place without proper instructions, but those who make it to the end are judged. Their heart is weighed with the feather of Ma'at, the sins being its weight. The feather weighs more? Welcome to paradise. But if the heart weighs more from sin? Ammit arrives, devouring it and the sinner. There is no fate afterwards for them; Ammit has devoured their soul and they no longer exist.
  • The method judgement Ammit is part of are similar to Bolvar Fondragon; the righteous have nothing to fear, the wicked get Deader than Dead for their troubles. The two have formed a bond over this. Ammit has also fought Yami Yugi in a Shadow Game involving Shadi, but that wasn't personal for Ammit and more than believes he deserves his rest in the afterlife.
  • Ammit is a monster with the head of a crocodile, the mane/upper body of a lion, and the lower body of a hippo. In short, terrifying. Most feline deities want to steer clear of her. Ramon, however, was a crocodile that was spooky enough on its own to be curious about the Egyptian demon and offered some food for Ammit as a sign it means no harm. Ammit appreciated it and the two became friends. Due to how he got a hook for a hand, Captain Hook was terrified by this development.
  • Ammit fits the idea of a chimera, though predates Greek mythology. Technically considered a demon, but usually feels at home in the House of Monsters. She was curious about Silvally and while not allies, seems to tolerate the artificial chimera. Discord, himself made of various creatures, has wondered what would happen if she was discorded.
  • The name depends on the translation, but denizens of the Shin Megami Tensei multiverse call her Ammut. She has sided with a number of protagonists, but remains neutral aligned. She doesn't have an opinion on YHVH or Lucifer, compared to the Egyptian gods, what with being more of a demonic beast not concerned with Divine Conflict. It's probably for the best that they keep it that way.
  • Cessation of Existence is supposed to be a permanent affair, but this is the Trope Pantheon; with Ammit, it simply takes longer(and is a lot more traumatizing). This annoys Ammit as she wants more souls for dinner and the pantheon won't let her. Dhuum sympathizes with this and the desire for final death. While she works for Osiris and Anubis, she likes being with Dhuum.
  • Tends to associate with the grim reapers and psychopomps of the pantheon; she's well-behaved enough not to take whatever souls they have with them at the time. Jabba the Hutt was amused by how Ammit eats sinners and is thinking of making her a pet, which most scoff at. Being beasts who play an important role in the afterlife, Ammit likes to hang out with Cerberus as well.
  • Voldemort wants to kick Ammit out because she can easily just eat horcruxes and is powerful enough to ignore the protection charm. The Dementors meanwhile want all the souls to themselves, and Ammit is frustrated by them stealing her food. Given she devours souls, most Harry Potter deities are creeped out by Ammit. At the very least the victims have no more existence rather than an Empty Shell existence.
  • True to sadistic form, AM has contempt for Ammit because by destroying souls and causing a Cessation of Existence it denies the malevolent super-computer a chance to torment said souls. And as with all Egyptian deities, Ammit is no fan of Apophis. While not an enemy, Marceline wants to steer clear of her because the fact she has absorbed vampire souls and powers means it could make her look tasty to Ammit.
  • It is not known if, were it not for the Death Is Cheap nature of the pantheon, that Ammit could render immortals Deader than Dead. Presumably not those with Complete Immortality, and it might just be that Ammit can only attack those who are already dead. She would definitely prevent revivals. Neither the Forms of Immortality or Manners of Revival sub-houses want her anywhere near them.
  • With her destructive abilities and monstrous appearances, even the SCP Foundation made a one-time mistake of thinking Ammit was SCP-682. Given 682's Multiple-Choice Past, it was a fringe theory they were the same, but now they're proven otherwise they decided Ammit might be able to terminate 682 once and for all. This proved yet another failure as 682 didn't have a soul, or at least lacked one that Ammit could remotely recognize. 682 was frustrated with the attempt on its life, however does hate Ammit a little less than humans for permanently destroying "disgusting" life-forms, and being a literal monster with reptilian qualities.
  • Dreaded by those who have been at risk of their soul being destroyed/devoured, or if it's happened to them and the pantheon is all that saves them from complete Cessation of Existence. Such as Malty, who was executed in a similar manner, and her heart would be way too heavy with sin to avoid being an obvious target for the beast.

The Colossimembers , Patron Deities of Puzzle Bosses

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_4457627_3882673248_tumbl.jpg
  • Lesser Deities
  • Symbol: The Colossus Idols
  • Theme Song: Sign of the Colossus
  • Alignment: Ranges from True Neutral to Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Advancing Bosses Of Doom, Ambiguous Golems, Creatures That Can Be Climbed, People Feel Bad When They Die, Unique Creatures, Puzzle Bosses, Glowing Sigil Weak Points, Single Specimen Species, Slow Moving Powerhouses, The Cans That Seal An Ambiguous Evil, Boss Game, Non-Malicious Monster
  • Domains: Nature, Giants, Antiquity, Seals
  • Allies: Yorda, The Robed Figure, The Diver
  • Enemies: Eren Yeager, Solaris (moreso its component Mephiles), Molag Bal
  • Opposed by: Wander, Kratos, Dovahkiin
  • The Colossi are sixteen mysterious stone-carved creatures of variable sizes (though always much larger than a human). They existed throughout a place known as the Forbidden Land, serving as the seals of a (reputedly) evil entity called Dormin. One day, a young warrior called Wander entered the Forbidden Land carrying a dead girl called Mono (some say she was cursed, but that's a rather petty distinction, all things considered), and he made a deal with Dormin: Wander would slay all the Colossi and in exchange, Dormin would bring Mono back to life. And though Wander was not a very skilled or strong warrior, and the Colossi really were as powerful as they looked, he was rather good at thinking outside the box and coming up with clever tactics, and so all the Colossi wound up slain at his hands one way or the other.
  • It is a common thought that the Colossi are like wonders of the world. A lot of people find their slaying to be a tremendous waste and Wander is often reviled for his part in their extinction. It was perhaps in that spirit that they were ascended into the Pantheon, where they would be free to roam once more and people could admire their magnificence. They represent Puzzle Boss for the very specific and off-the-wall strategies that Wander needed to employ to have any chance at defeating them.
  • Although they have a designated temple/shrine, the Colossi are actually spread out throughout the whole Pantheon, and never seem to stay in one place for too long. They generally avoid areas where people live though. This is probably because they are used to the totally deserted Forbidden Land. This is perhaps for the best; the Colossi are pretty passive and neutral forces in the Pantheon, so they do little of note and are content to mind their own business. Still, some of them are very aggressive and shouldn't be approached lightly... or at all, really. Let's see how you like being repeatedly rammed to death by Cenobia and Celosia, or poisoned by Kuromori's gases. Most agree they should be left alone and admired from afar, but then, their battle prowess will always attract those who see the Colossi as interesting challenges and would just love to throw down with them.
  • One of the deities who wants to throw down with them? Wander himself, of course. The young warrior ascended into the Pantheon as well after his quest ended rather badly for him, as he got possessed by Dormin in order to fight off a certain Lord Emon who had a vested interest in keeping Dormin sealed. Emon succeeded in re-sealing Dormin and destroyed the only access to the Forbidden Land, stranding the newly revived Mono and Wander, who was apparently reduced to an infant. Despite this, Wander ascended as he was in the beginning of his quest, which most attribute to Dormin. And Wander is as determined as ever to finish off the Colossi once more, hoping that doing so will unseal Dormin again and that the entity can get him and Mono out of the Forbidden Land. No one knows whether the Colossi are still Dormin's seals, so no one can say for sure whether his quest is futile or not. At any rate, the Colossi seem to remember Wander, though somehow they have no interest in hunting him down to kill him before he does so to them again.
  • Kratos is someone who has a history of fighting gigantic creatures, most fittingly in this case, the Colossus of Rhodes. He would not mind at all giving Wander a hand in slaying all the Colossi. That they contain an (ambiguously) evil god just spurs him on. Some deities have pointed out to him that the point of the Colossi is (or was) to keep Dormin sealed away, and killing them would release Dormin again. Kratos replied that that's part of the plan; once he slays the Colossi, he will make absolutely sure to smash Dormin's face in for his manipulation of Wander. Wander appreciates his enthusiasm in killing the Colossi, less so in wanting to kill Dormin because that would be bad for him and Mono trapped back in the Forbidden Land. Also, no one knows if Dormin has a face.
  • Dovahkiin is another deity sympathetic to Wander's goals, having gone on a quest to slay ancient beasts and collect their souls himself. For that reason he, like Kratos, is willing to help out Wander in killing the Colossi. He is fairly suspicious of Dormin's intentions himself, though as far as he's concerned that is pretty much Wander's problem to deal with.
  • Eren Yeager is someone whose hatred for all manner of things giant knows no bounds, and it would seem that the Colossi also figure in that list, with Eren guessing that if they are the seals of an evil god, then they must be evil too and can't be allowed to exist. Eren is so blatant and virulent in his hatred that he actually manages to scare the Colossi. The fact that he's much more skilled than Wander and has a Titan form that would allow him to go toe-to-toe with the Colossi is also very worrisome to them. Entreatments for Eren to understand that the Colossi are nowhere near as violent as the Titans have been unsuccessful. It's probably no surprise that he's in league with Wander, given Eren is one of the few deities who agrees with him that the Colossi must be destroyed.
  • At first, the Colossi were an interesting subject for Mephiles to look into, given that they house fragments of a sealed god inside of them akin to Iblis and Mephiles being the components of Solaris. As it turned out, the sealed entity ended up being more of a neutral (relatively speaking) figure in the long run and Mephiles ultimately didn’t find any use for the Colossi in his plans. The Colossi are more or less passive figures if anything, but they don’t really like Solaris as a whole, especially in regards to Mephiles’ being deceptive towards his pawns.
  • Molag Bal is unusual among deities in that he appears to utterly despise the Colossi for their magnificence and the awe they inspire, because the Daedric Prince is just petty like that. He would like to take them down one or several pegs, and promotes the Colossi's slaying among his followers. Some believe he's trying to bring the Colossi down into his realm of Coldharbour where they could be his servants.
  • Among the deities who have sought to actually make friends out of the Colossi, Yorda stands out as one who the usually impassive Colossi actually have a keen interest in. Yorda was originally simply curious after hearing stories about the Colossi, and a little skeptic about Wander as well. Yorda went to meet the Colossi without Ico and got herself in trouble, as the Gill-Man took an interest in her and tried to drag her under, only for Hydrus and Pelagia to save her and chase Gill-Man away. It was unheard of for the Colossi to do such a thing until then. Nobody is sure why it happened, but it's widely theorized that Yorda's innate powers have some kind of effect on the Colossi and that she can command them to a certain extent. Whatever the case, all the Colossi are very friendly when she's around, and Yorda loves them a lot as well. Ico for his part is more-or-less neutral on the Colossi; he admires Wander for defeating them all and kind of wishes he could pull it off as well, but doesn't truly wish them harm, especially now when Yorda cares so much for them.
  • The Robed Figure turned out to be another deity with a special connection to the Colossi. The Robed Figure had been fascinated by the Colossi ever since hearing about them, though it generally kept its distance so as to not disturb them. Then one day, it unwittingly moved a little too close to Cenobia's territory and a chase ensued. The Robed Figure then happened to chirp, which caused Cenobia to freeze and relax, allowing the Robed Figure to approach it safely. When the Robed Figure tried chirping at the other Colossi, they all became friendly. Apparently they enjoy the music the Robed Figure makes with its chirping. Phalanx became the Robed Figure's personal favorite Colossi due to its inherently peaceful nature and living in the desert, which is home to the Robed Figure.
  • The Diver became interested in the Colossi after hearing the Robed Figure sing praises for them, especially as two of them dwelled in the water, which would make things much easier for her to meet them. The Diver has a knack for getting along with aquatic creatures, and it wasn't much harder to befriend Hydrus and Pelagia (her singing at them helped, inspired by how the Robed Figure's chirping yielded the same results). She has also tried visiting the rest as much as she could. In the end, the Diver is decidedly a friend to all the Colossi and supports their preservation wholeheartedly, even if her friend the Great White still shakes in his fins whenever they go anywhere near the creatures.
