Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    open/close all folders

Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • Gods can't be followers or high priests for obvious reasons.
  • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
  • No hype profiles, please.
    • So you ask, what exactly is 'hype profile'? It is a profile based on ongoing events that hasn't been around very long, but generates a lot of hype, possibly because of elements such as Wham Episode or Memetic Mutation or Large Ham or overall 'OMGAWESOME!!!' They're all not bad tropes, but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time). You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but don't make the profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
  • DO. NOT. put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, don't do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, do yourself a favor and delete it from that main page. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good & Evil Colors.
  • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
    • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
    • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
    • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
    • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to the Treasures or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Treasures or Dominions.
  • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
  • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
  • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you're only given three chances on such. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
  • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what's currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction.
  • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
  • Don't repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes haven't been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • Please use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, or something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted.
  • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this god has spots in other houses as well.
  • When writing facts/trivia about gods, try not to contradict what has already been written elsewhere.
  • When writing down the name of a Theme Song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name.
  • When adding an image for your God, make sure that it is not too big unless you wish to write more about the god you have chosen.
  • If you feel the need to remove a god for some reason and replace him/her with another, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. If you're lucky (and they're from the same franchise), maybe both of them can share the title "Gods of (Insert Trope Here)".
  • Certain tropes can have more than one God. It is not advisable, but it is not forbidden. Just ensure that this second God will bring in new flavor of the trope. If you have doubts on how to bring the other flavors, consult the Trope Pantheon Discussion forum. Case in point: In the original Greek Mythology (and later Roman Mythology), both Ares/Mars and Athena/Minerva share the title of 'God/Goddess of War', and even then, they differ in flavor: Ares is about brutal warfare, Athena is about war strategies and finesse, while Mars took up some of Athena's elements that he kinda differs out than Ares. If the original myth can do this, why the hell not for the Pantheon?
  • Be creative! If you need some time to work out your potential deity's profile, use the Pending Gods or Pending Gods 2 page to get help. Incomplete and/or low-quality entries are more likely to get deleted or replaced.
  • When writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. See also the Rules section. Especially the 1st bullet point.
  • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name.
  • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it's well advised not to abuse them. Aside from introducing too many niche concepts, there are still chances for new tropes related to your chosen deity's title to be launched through YKTTW...
    • Additionally however, the only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. IE: Their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they're closely associated with In-Universe, or both (example: Gangplank and his oranges).
  • Maximum number of tropes what a god should have is three, but don't try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused.
  • Some series will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps, as well. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it's because they're a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they're connected to another deity in their respective canon.
  • As far as deities from actual mythologies (Greco-Roman, Norse, Japanese, etc.) are concerned, try not to replicate the default myths about their characters and use a fictional counterpart instead. In other words, if you want to use the Greek/Roman god Ares/Mars, you can't add him as the "God of War", but you can use him as part of another trope as long as it's a different version of him. For example:
    • Zeus, while having elements of his persona from Classical Mythology, draws more from his portrayal in the God of War Series.
    • Thor and Loki's Pantheon portrayals are influenced heavily by their appearances in their Marvel Comics series.
    • Amaterasu is a woman in her Japanese mythology portrayal, but her Pantheon counterpart is the dog goddess from Ōkami.
  • Don't depend too much on the hype/meme train, don't just jump onto that train willy-nilly in order to put on some events or entry in the Pantheon. It might not last very long or represent the trope best. This is Trope Pantheons, not Trope Hype Train!
  • Unless the character proposed is specifically from the Abridged version, the character should represent the tropes in their canon selves. If they also happen to possess the trait of the Abridged self, good! But otherwise, get the abridged stuff onto just the flavor texts.
  • To prevent any surprising need to rework profiles due to new development, please restrain from ascending gods from a series before the thing is either released or for longer-running series, there is a good enough of a break from story. This also applies to already existing series if there is a new thing coming out.
  • Please be sure to ask in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you don't waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
    • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else.
  • It is much more recommended to word the title like "God of X" instead of "The God that Xs". This will give off the vibe the God actually ruled over that trope instead of just 'did X', giving more credentials to how it's the best example of the trope.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power.
    • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
    • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
    • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
    • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
    • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
    • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Deity Template
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Potential House:
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity. This doesn't always have to be a representation of power, but it can also represent influence in the Pantheon.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Song that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician, this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D.
  • Gender: For Pokémon deities only. Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
  • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
  • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies.
  • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals.
  • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes.
  • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that have various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.) other than allies, rivals, or enemies.
  • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Pokémon.
  • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
  • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or find pitiable.
  • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by, regardless of alignment.
  • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.

I made this suggestion a long time ago, but ended up not following through on it due to my own indecision. It's to give the Digimon Frontier kids Elemental Embodiment, since they can turn into the Ten Legendary Warriors, Digimon that represent ten different Elemental Powers. This would mean that The Sacred Darkness and Fiery Salamander would go free. Is this alright?

I have two questions:

1. When you get four [tup]s, is the ascension time three days from the third [tup] or the fourth [tup]?

2. I can't find the Prince of Persia pantheon page; does anyone know where it is?

@Hamana (jumping off Excessive's suggestion) Beethoven would be an interesting one, although he wasn't born deaf, and didn't start going deaf until he was around 30 years old, and didn't completely lose his hearing until some years later. Although he didn't compose a good portion of his most famous music until after he started going deaf, so there's that.

@Whirl: I'll think about that. It's a complicated case since the antagonistic ones got purified but they also lost their physical forms and pretty much just live in the kids' Digivices as fodder for evolving into KaiserGreymon, MagnaGarurumon and Susanoomon.

  • Opposes: Ragyo Kiryuin
  • Opposed by: Most of the House of Love and Meals
  • Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom, is one of the Four Emperors, the most notorious and feared pirate leaders in the world. Head of the Big Mom pirates, her base of operations is on Whole Cake Island and she serves as queen of Totto Land. On face value it's a borderline Sugar Bowl with focus on sweets, desserts and other bright things. However behind the Sweet Tooth queen is an unstable and very powerful woman with near total control over her domain.
  • Since she was 18 Big Mom has been taking a husband from different locations, having children and dumping them to marry a new husband. She's had 43 before stopping at age 60. Keep in mind that she mainly kidnaps her husbands and they don't have much say in the matter, which does not go over well with the House of Love. Nor does the fact she keeps trying to marry her offspring to others in the pantheon, mainly in the House of Otherness due to her propensity for Interspecies Romance and half-human hybrids.
  • While she Really Gets Around, she and Queen Medb don't care much for each other. She has had dozens of husbands, but Charlotte did so as a power play and not out of lust. Medb finds Big Mom to be really unstable and best ignored.
  • As much as it's possible for him, Walder Frey had an oddly cordial relationship with Big Mom. Both are big fans of marrying as many times as they can, resulting in a very large family(though he simply outlives his wives). The two have been plotting marriage ceremonies for one another to boost their political power in a mutual alliance. Prince Hans has wanted in it, and Big Mom thinks helping him will help herself. Just so long as he doesn't marry any of her children. Of course, Hans already knows not to mess with Linlin and won't try to screw her over.
  • Glenn Quagmire once considered sleeping with her because he looked at old pictures of her and thought she was good at sex given how many husbands she was. Too late did he see how she looks nowadays and tried to escape Totto Island as fast as he could. Big Mom called him a hypocrite given he's a Kavorka Man, but most agree that even outside of her personality she is far uglier than Quagmire.
  • Might be the only real ally of the Queen of Hearts. A lot of this has to do with how she takes a lot after her; fat, selfish, easy to anger and living in a Wonderland-like domain, along with Decapitation Presentation and general Bright Is Not Good nature. The two bonded over sweets, their attitude and general personality. Alice has found Big Mom far scarier than the Queen of Hearts, which is quite justified.
  • Why does Big Mom have so many children? She dreams of a utopia where all races live peacefully side by side. An egalitarian goal, but it's corrupted by insanity and food cravings. Also, she has ruthless control over her citizens, uses a sharp tax through taking lifespans and is a general Control Freak. Which is why she has sided with the GUAL, appreciating Yaldabaoth's societal control and YHVH's egalitarian features met with The Evils of Free Will. However she's Neutral Evil instead Lawful because she's nuts and her chaotic personality can get in the way of the GUAL's hopes.
  • She has a competing vision with Light Yagami. Both have their own vision of utopia, a world without conflict which they control. And both visions are crippled by a character flaw-Kira wanting to be god more than his utopia, Linlin being homicidally insane and delusional. And since they want to be the one in control, they are in competition to create this "perfect world". Due to how the Soru Soru no Mi can affect lifespans, it's unknown how this might be seen with anyone who has Shinigami eyes.
  • Her Devil Fruit, the Soru Soru no Mi or Soul-Soul Fruit lets her freely interact and manipulate souls. With this, she can extract soul fragments so long as her targets are afraid, and give inanimate objects life. The Father of the Homunculi was impressed by the usage of this Devil Fruit, and how she was able to create strong homies from mere pieces of her soul. He can only imagine what could be done if someone like him with the souls of thousands had the Devil Fruit. This concerns Big Mom greatly since he is actually a challenge for her, and Father may have realized just how she got her Devil Fruit from Mother Carmel; unknowing cannibalism.
  • Having already split his soul several times for immortality, Lord Voldemort wants the Soru Soru no Mi for himself as it would allow his horcruxes to take a life of their own and be far more powerful, while also being confident they'd stay loyal to him since Prometheus and Napoleon have to Big Mom. Marceline, who's become as powerful as she has in part by absorbing the souls of the last remaining vampires, finds her use of the Soru Soru no Mi to be repulsive and in general Big Mom to be insane]]. It remains to be seen how any life extraction would work if Big Mom was able to do so to her, considering as a vampire her lifespan is potentially infinite and even without it she managed to live a thousand years in an Alternate Timeline where she never became a vampire(albeit as a very old woman).
  • Has over eighty children, and is in no way a good mother to them. She has a bad habit of enabling their negative traits like her adoptive mother did to her, yanked forty years out of her son Moscato for getting in her way and tried to kill her 23rd daughter for ruining a marriage arrangement. Most in the House of Mothers dislike her for her insanity and abuse. However even Big Mom considers Ragyo Kiryuin a vile mother for her sexual abuse.
  • Do not do the following around her: try to leave Totto Land, betray her, ask questions about her picture of Mother Carmel, point out she doesn't have a certain race in her "collection", and especially don't get in the way of her sweets and tea time. Her rampages and rages about food are why the House of Meals doesn't want her stepping foot, and why she has Kirby on her hit list. Princess Bubblegum dreads the idea of Big Mom visiting the Candy Kingdom lest she rampage and eat her citizens, and being a general deranged queen.
  • Had amnesia for a time, and proved a much more generous and stable person. Sadly the attempt to keep her compassionate failed and she reverted to normal. The Phantom Thieves of Heart want to change her heart and restore her to that nicer state. At the same time, they understand she isn't naturally evil like many of their targets, but twisted and enabled by poor parental figures, the likes they are all too familiar with.

Before working on the Izanami profile, I want to do another nomination.

  • Miaka Yuuki, Yui Hongo, and The Seven Warriors of Suzakumembers , Divine Group of Book Worlds - Fushigi Yuugi is a shoujo fantasy isekai (in fact, one of the earliest examples in it’s genre) manga about two middle school girls who enter the book universe of The Universe Of The Four Gods where everything about the book after they enter it became a story about them because every-time a virgin girl enters the book, they are destined to become a priestess of one of the Four Gods (Suzaku, Seiryu, Genbu, and Byakko). Each God has their own Seven Warriors, with me only nominating the ones from the Suzaku and a priestess has to grant three selfless wishes for their God, though they could also do selfish wishes, but it will ultimately result in them being devoured by their own God. Eventually, Miaka and Yui became enemies because they are priestesses from different sides and Yui believes Miaka betrayed her and the only way for Miaka to stop genocide is to summon Suzaku.

Last posting I guess. Thanks to those who were insightful to my progress. All I need is a quote and I'm done, but since Shouko is deaf, she probably doesn't need one.

Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya, Divine Couple of Romance Involving Speech-Impeded Persons (Shoya: Shouya. Shoko: Shouko)
Shouya and Shouko
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: A hearing aid.
  • Theme Song: The Generation
  • Alignments: Neutral Good for both. Neutral Evil formerly for Shouya.
  • Portfolio:
  • Domains: Reformed Bullies, Deafness, Forgiveness, Love, Couples, Suicide (formerly)
  • Heralds: Shouko's family: Yuzuru (sister) and Yaeko Nishimiya (mother), Tomohiro Nagatsuka (Ishida's self-proclaimed best friend), Naoka Ueno (Ishida's former bully helper)
  • Friends: The Katawa Girls, Jimmy Hopkins, Pacifica Northwest, Sunset Shimmer, Kousei Arima and Kaori Miyazono, Elisa Esposito, majority of the House of Regret
  • Respected by: Majority of the House of Love and other good students from the House of School.
  • Commonality Connection with: Johnny Lawrence, Zuko, Timmy Turner (for Shouya), WALL•E and EVE, Hinata Hyuga, Sona Buvelle, Ludwig van Beethoven (for Shouko)
  • Conflicting Opinion: Bart Simpson (for Shouya), Claude (for Shouko)
  • Opposes: Gary Smith, Biff Tannen
  • Meet Shoya Ishida, a delinquent student who was a bully back on his high school years. After relentlessly bullying a deaf student on his school all for the sake of boredom, and being forced to move to another school for all the harassment, he is placed on the same pedestal as years of his high school life has left him a bully target, with all his friends leaving him for all his antics. Grown up, depressed and with zero friends to back him up, he was at the brink of suicide, until one fateful encounter with the person he harassed back then, the deaf Shoko Nishimiya, made him rethink his ways and go on towards a path of redemption. What followed on his path changed him and Shoko forever, as he continuously strove himself to become a better person and change the error of his ways, all while knowing the truths of her intention towards him back in the past, to the point that at the tip of the journey, he saves her attempt at suicide but puts him in a coma, allowing her to reflect on herself and decide to bring his friends back together. The end result not only brought the two back to redeem themselves, it perhaps even rekindled romantic feelings for each other.
  • One faithful day, as the two were minding their own business after attending a festival, Shoko was teleported out of existence and placed into evaluation of the Court of the Gods. They noticed that her inability to speak properly has granted her a title under her but after evaluation, she started getting worried and cry in lonely desperation. The Gods, not knowing what she wanted gave her a notebook so that she may distribute her thoughts around the court. After being suddenly teleported with no notice, she wanted to see her friends once more as she is alone. Much deliberation later and the council decided to allow to bring her love interest Shoya so that the two may share the title, a decision that made her happy and left Shoya in disarray after her sudden disappearance.
  • The two's entrance left both in awe and confusion as the Pantheon's own set of rules, coupled with the lack of possible people to speak to placed both in a rough spot almost akin to a maze. While waiting for their temple to be built, Shouko decided to explore their subhouse, looking for people similar to them. What resulted from this was her first meeting to the Katawa Girls with their own deaf Student Leader Shizune Hakamichi, exchanging notebooks as a means to communicate to each other for the first time. The moment she talked about her relationship with Shoya left Shizune and the rest of the girls giggling hearing that she also earned a relationship to a former bully. Shouya's entrance after following her ended up in a huge group hug with all the girls, and Hisao in the background giving him a thumbs up of approval for his redemption.
  • Outside of their neighboring deities, their reception was slowly received by others, even reaching out to fellow mutes and former bullies who saw the two as a shining light when it comes to forgiveness. While shy at first, especially when mentioning their relationship, they have also warmed up to other deities following their sudden entrance to the Pantheon, allowing them to form new friends and even relatable people to interact with.
  • Even with all the support the two are getting, especially to Shouko's muteness, the two still try to live with their flaws. Shouya will be often seen in the House of Regret as a way to ask for forgiveness for all that he has done despite being forgiven and actually succeeding in his road to redemption. He still considers it necessary to ask for penance as it still scars him to this day. Shouko's response to his guilt is often times a smile or a huge, giving some members of the House of Love a nice reaction.
  • Both of their pasts has brought them people from different places, with Shouya able to interact with people who were either bullies (or those who are often targets of such) and even those who chose a path to redemption, while Shouko managed to interact, albeit with sign language/a notebook, with other mutes she discovered. This, coupled with them bringing their friends and family as their heralds has made their stay in the Pantheon much more enjoyable, and maybe a promise for a brighter future.
  • News of Shouya's past would put him into complete guilt as his past life has been nothing but complete shame for himself and has since rectified any means to go back to such, considering it nearly killed him. Thankfully, it has been received quite well and without any harmful comments on him. It even earned him a visit from Jimmy Hopkins, who saw his redemption story to be similar to his, though Jimmy prefers to do his in a rather dirty hands scenario, which he has spoken about.
Jimmy: "Hey, heard you changed your ways as a bully. Guess we're cool."
Shouya: "I mean I guess so, you still fight though."
Jimmy: "It's for those bullying chumps, don't worry."
    • Outside of Jimmy however, Pacifica Northwest has been visiting him on several occasions, seeing that another person has changed their ways. She was rather surprised when she saw his relationship with the person he once harassed, impressing her even more considering her response was that she warmed up to Dipper and Mable, though she still remains prissy at times.
Pacifica: "I'm impressed. I guess we're both even."
    • It wasn't easy for Sunset Shimmer to tone done her actions following her defeat and reformation. To hear that he managed to go through all that pain for years and even dodge a suicide attempt has made her jealous. Nonetheless, she can only wish that his future, and perhaps those who would change the errors of their ways, remain bright after all those years of loathing.
    • Shouya's journey to all his atone has also attracted the grown-up bully Johnny Lawrence, who sees Shouya to be a shining example of a redeemed bully, perhaps even more successful than him in regards to the future. While, knowing both stories, Shouya would feel disheartened hearing Johnny's problems in life and all the massive hardships between his son, his legacy of Cobra Kai and everything in between. Understanding each other's own pains, they both agreed to help each other in times of need, and in Johnny's case, he can only wish that his new path to redemption will work out all right.
    • Zuko knew how hard it was to forgive himself after the entire Fire Nation set their world ablaze, and had to decide between his countrymen or the Avatar in the hopes of redeeming his royal right as a prince. Still, even through all the tension, the scars would still make him remember it all, a pain Shouya has felt even after earning his redemption, hence why his occasional visits for penance. The two share this plight and often meet each other in the same penance halls, hoping that their mistakes would not be followed by others.
    • Unfortunately, it is not all sunshine and flowers however as some people have proven to still be arrogant, even in the test of time, and none could ever be more proven than Biff Tannen himself. The annoying bully of the McFlys caught wind to Shouya and even attempted to harass Shouko after hearing of the two's history. The McFlys saw this and helped the two evade Biff's wrath, though he knows Biff's actions will not be the end of it. It only got worse when Gary Smith intervened as well and seeing that Jimmy managed to get to him first, has placed both of them in their sights, with Gary possibly wanting Shouya to go back to his old self, a self he would rather never mention ever.
  • His first meeting with Timmy Turner was, interesting, to say the least. Seeing Timmy as an oppressed student in many ways, be it neglecful parents, an uncaring babysitter, an obsessed teacher and even the big bully of his school, he knew how both of them would reach a mutual understanding, until he saw his faries, Cosmo and Wanda, and actually pondered how Timmy's status hasn't changed. It also made him rather saddened to see that he hasn't altered himself even after the years of possible change, whereas unlike him, he had to make alot of changes and sacrifices to make sure he was no longer the same person he was. This resulted on the two getting mixed feelings towards each other, especially since Timmy has been making rather terrible wishes on his behalf.
  • Another person who also saw Shouya with similarity was Bart Simpson, who while being a jerk, is making some progress on his path to change, small in a sense that his antics are still being practiced without hesitation. In fact, he's rather annoyed at Bart for many reasons outside of his little change, while Bart on the other hand is curious to see his relationship with Shouko, something that he has tried numerous times and has failed in almost all of them.
  • Shouko's deafness brought with her alot of sympathy for many people, something that while she is greatful for, also dampens her in many ways, such that she has an extremely low opinion on herself, almost believing all the horrible things pointed out to her, regardless if its true or not. When Shizune heard of this, she understood her plight and wished to help bring her motivation back, first by introducing other people just like her.
    • This made her able to meet with those who are also mute in some way, with her first one being Sona Buvelle. While hesitant at first, when she noticed Shouko's unwillingness to try, she played a small tune of music to ease her anxiety. This allowed her to communicate first hand with signs, which prompted a response from her very easily and made it easier for the two to communicate. Thanks to the trio's efforts, they are able to communicate quite well, and for Sona, this is one of the very few times someone approached her with similar disabilities, something that as reflected in her melodies, has made her much more relaxed and happy.
    • When hearing that another deaf girl related to love was ascended, it did not take time till Elise Esposito showed introduced herself to the trio, even more as both Shouko, Shizune and Elise are related to love compared to Sona. Seeing her success at her relationship to Ishida made Elise hopeful that their relationship may go to a better future, something that she and the Asset worked hard to get.
    • The hearing aid she was gifted by Ishida proved to be very helpful, especially as after her meeting with Sona made her appreciate sound once more. This was further reflected when she heard of Ludwig van Beethoven's symphonies, something which she grew to admire. Though she wonders how Beethoven managed to make symphonies of wondrous sound when he was becoming deaf, unable to hear his own sounds in the process. Still, she appreciates his honor.
    • Not all mute people are good however, and most certainly not good-spirited when talking about Claude. Her first meeting with him just left the two staring at each other, with Claude just ignoring her responses. She wonders whether he's blind but Shizune would rather not divulge on the fact that Claude is a ruthless criminal.
  • Outside of mute people, others have pointed out that before their relationship was established, she was extremely hesitant in approaching Shouya due to her extremely shy personality, reflected at one point where she ran away when she couldn't pronounce "I love you" correctly. Hinata saw this and felt the same way on her earlier meetings with Naruto, who also understood both of their impediments. Though in Hinata's part, her confidence slowly grew as she aged and Shouko had to go through rough edges bringing Ishida's friends back after being in a coma understanding what he means to everyone outside of her.
  • Their love story has brought much sympathy and respect as the two earned their respective relationship after all the hardships both had to get through. The two also met Kousei and Kaori, who read their journey, with Kaori admitting she cried a little seeing the two gaining romantic feelings for each other. So much so that it prompted the two to give them tickets to see their concert. After Ishida gave a hearing aid to Shouko, a celebration was made for the two duos through the House of Music.
    • Who knew that a robotic couple would be able to understand human love like the two? WALL•E and EVE greeted the duo with excitement on EVE's part seeing how she and Shouko lack speech (well direct speech for EVE) and WALL•E's shyness shares the same with her anxiety. Ishida welcomed them all after knowing that the two of them have been well-respected in the House of Love.

Silence is Peace, Love is Subjugation, Acceptance is Weakness.

  • Symbol: The Autobot insignia (Either the original, or Generation Two model) or the Wreckers insignia (his Prime incarnation)
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good, briefly Lawful Evil as his Armada incarnation (Chaotic Evil in his Shattered Glass form)
  • Portfolio: His Inventions ALWAYS Blow Up, Absent-Minded Professor, Badass Mustache (in some incarnations), Gadgeteer Genius, Mad Scientist, Odd Friendship (with Grimlock and Starscream), Transforms into a Lancia Stratos Race Car, Good Counterpart to Shockwave, Science Hero, A Tad Rebellious Towards His Superiors
  • Domains: Science, Explosions, Wrecking, Speed, Inventing, Rebellion, Maintenance, Gadgeteering

  • Allies:
  • Enemies:
  • Pities: Professor Pippy Poopypants/Tippy Tinkletrousers
  • Interested in: Mosco, Godzilla
  • Conflicting Opinion: Michael Bay, Victor Frankenstein and his Monster
  • Wheeljack is the Autobot's wily mechanical engineer, a tech geek who seems to get off on creating new and unusual devices for his fellow bots. Unfortunately, his experiments either turn out really good or really bad. His propensity for blowing his experiments (and himself) up was what influenced his ascension. For every successful gadget he builds, they're just as likely to help the Autobots as they are to trouble them, like an Immobilizer meant to immobilize the Decepticons being used to freeze the Autobots instead. This mixture of failure and success turned out to be exactly what Optimus needed to bring his top inventor to the Pantheon.
    • Unlike most of the others, Wheeljack was late to the party because Bulkhead forgot that they both were ascending. When Jazz recruited the rest of the original Ark crew (sans Huffer) as heralds, Optimus paired him up with Bulkhead for a two-fold ascension. Thankfully, the mistake was cleared up and Wheeljack officially received his new lab and a commission in the GUAG Engineering Division.
  • As is custom for an ascended Transformer, he's brought a dedicated team of heralds to contribute to the Autobot war effort. The entire Autobot Scientific Divisionnote  has been called up, consisting of legacy character Ratchet (the cranky but reliable medic), Hoist (the jovial but dedicated maintenance specialist), Perceptor (the knowledgeable scientist), Beachcomber (the pacifist, nature-loving geologist), Swerve (the bad-aiming metallurgist), Grapple (the frustrated artist and architect), Huffer (the pessimistic construction engineer) and Hauler (the constantly missing salvager), all of whom serve in important capacities in the Pantheon. The first two in particular always fix him up whenever he almost kills himself mid-experiment. Ratchet in particular serves as a surgeon in the GUAG Engineering Division and is undergoing training to be able to treat similarly-sized organics. There's also 'rich boy' Autobot Mirage (Dino in some continuities), a fellow racer whose powers of Invisibility (by Wheeljack's own admission) mesh well with Wheeljack's technical wizardry.
    • Serving as secondary heralds are disabled human Teen Genius and partner Chip Chase, who assists him with trickier inventions and advises him on the human side of the equation. His Anti-Hero Armada incarnation has Autobot Hot Shot (a Bumblebee Expy) as his emotional weight and best buddy, since he never lost faith in him even after his Face–Heel Turn. Wind Sheer, his Mini-Con partner was never comfortable with him switching sides but nevertheless remains loyal to him. She was greatly relieved upon hearing that Wheeljack's other incarnations are staunchly and have always been Autobots.
  • When not tinkering with doohickies in his temple, Wheeljack can usually be seen hanging out with his partner Bulkhead, wrecking stuff while training in the latter's temple. He may have a problem with authority, but Bulkhead certainly isn't authoritarian like their superior Ultra Magnus or Optimus (they've only just started patching up their relationship with him). The two bots make for a feared duo of Bash Brothers and no normal Decepticon dares to mess with them. Because Wreckers don't call for backup. They call for cleanup!
    • Only Bulkhead gets to call Wheeljack 'Jackie'.
  • A member of the GUAG Engineering Division and their liaison to the GUAG Robot War Division. While he isn't a robot healer by any stretch, Wheeljack has created plenty of gadgets useful for combatting the Decepticons. He particularly gets along with Winry Rockbell and Dr. Thomas Light, who specialize in robots. Sure, they aren't on the level of Wheeljack's creations for sure (and Light's Mega Men are far more advanced than the Dinobots). Whenever he requests their services, it's either because he wants perform modifications on himself and needs someone to help or he's got an important project to work on that risks detonating the entire engineering headquarters. Even though his inventions can range from disruptive to outright dangerous, he's made some powerful things, such as the Dinobots and freaking Metroplex.
    • Because they're his creations, Wheeljack has a surprisingly better relationship with the Dinobots, especially Grimlock. Both have an anti-authoritarian streak and prefer doing whatever they want, whenever they want unless the chips are down.
  • Some of his inventions have backfired hard. An improved version of his famous remote control that was used to control Decepticons ended up being too strong and ended up offlining an entire battalion of drones used by the GUAM. Almost every member of the Machine Council descended on his laboratory demanding replacements, and Wheeljack just happened to be absent. He eventually settled with a payout of twenty Energon cubes from his personal storage. Sigma tried to extort several of his in-progress inventions but was bargained down to the cubes by Roboking.
  • Despite his apparent volatility, he's one of Cybertron's greatest minds and people know it. Many an evil deity have tried to enlist his services incognito. The Decepticons, especially Tarantulas and Shockwave have tried to no avail, even with brainwashing. Sharing a voice with Starscream and other 80s villain Cobra Commander (Chris Latta) hasn't done him any favours, and more than once he's had to fend off attacks by his subordinates Destro and the Baroness.
  • Has conversed with various geniuses throughout the Pantheon to hone his inventing skills and improve his safety standards. Tony Stark's armours interest him a lot, especially the Arc Reactor. He wants to see if it can potentially replace Energon as a fuel source for Transformers and has 'borrowed' some of his Hulkbuster armours to test. Tony never got them back. He's more of a lower-tier guy though, so he tends to liaise with people like Amadeus Cho, Emmett Brown and Dexter. Donatello in particular has him interested in mutagen, to see if it can be used to manipulate Transformium into an alternative form of Transmetal, but believes in using it without cruelty; hence his animosity with Shredder.
  • Interested in Mosco's robotic suit and Godzilla (among others), and has been thinking about making a new Titan based on both. Of course, he's been slow in this effort considering the 'collateral damage' involved in emulating a God of Destruction's power and the fact that Godzilla isn't too happy with him for this. In fact, after the Evilutionists of Mad Science plotted to steal the prototypes from his temple with heavy casualties, Optimus has advised Wheeljack to quit on the business.
  • Holds the distinction of being the first Transformer seen on-screen, and sometimes boasts about it to his fellow Autobots until someone reminds him that it didn't stop him from being killed off when his toy was discontinued. He much prefers his Heroic Sacrifice against Unicron's onslaught: an honor he shares with Starscream of all people.
  • Like most other ascended Transformers, Wheeljack can assume a variety of forms in the Pantheon depending on his incarnation, a very interesting prospect in his opinion. He usually transforms into a 1976 Group 5 Lancia Stratos Turbo race car in Alitalia livery, but others exist too. He can also transform into a Mercedes-Benz E550 with an Einstein-esque robot mode and a German accent (named Que after the James Bond character). Another, a sword-wielding anti-authoritarian has the privilege of being a member of the legendary Wreckers unit under Ultra Magnus. He doesn't like to be reminded of his brief stint as a Decepticon in the Unicron Trilogynote . And don't even mention what happens when he turns into his Shattered Glass counterpart: a Mad Scientist with none of the mainstream counterpart's moral scruples and overzealously seeking approval.
    • Some of the more recent incarnations have facial hair for some reason. He's been thinking about getting it styled in the sub-house of Facial Hair but isn't sure if they have anyone who specializes in robots. Albert Einstein once poked fun at him for his Movie form, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
  • Can sometimes be seen in the House of Travel street-racing. Despite being the least street-oriented of the Autobot race cars, he's the best racer out of all of them. He's prided himself on his choice of vehicle mode (or more specifically Teletraan-1's choice), a race car built for the track as opposed to for the road.
