Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    open/close all folders

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • Gods can't be followers or high priests for obvious reasons.
  • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
  • No hype profiles, please.
    • So you ask, what exactly is 'hype profile'? It is a profile based on ongoing events that hasn't been around very long, but generates a lot of hype, possibly because of elements such as Wham Episode or Memetic Mutation or Large Ham or overall 'OMGAWESOME!!!' They're all not bad tropes, but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time). You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but don't make the profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
  • DO. NOT. put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, don't do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, do yourself a favor and delete it from that main page. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good & Evil Colors.
  • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
    • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
    • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
    • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
    • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to the Treasures or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Treasures or Dominions.
  • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
  • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
  • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you're only given three chances on such. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
  • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what's currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction.
  • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • Please use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, or something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted.
  • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this god has spots in other houses as well.
  • When writing facts/trivia about gods, try not to contradict what has already been written elsewhere.
  • When writing down the name of a Theme Song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name.
  • When adding an image for your God, make sure that it is not too big unless you wish to write more about the god you have chosen.
  • If you feel the need to remove a god for some reason and replace him/her with another, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. If you're lucky (and they're from the same franchise), maybe both of them can share the title "Gods of (Insert Trope Here)".
  • Certain tropes can have more than one God. It is not advisable, but it is not forbidden. Just ensure that this second God will bring in new flavor of the trope. If you have doubts on how to bring the other flavors, consult the Trope Pantheon Discussion forum. Case in point: In the original Greek Mythology (and later Roman Mythology), both Ares/Mars and Athena/Minerva share the title of 'God/Goddess of War', and even then, they differ in flavor: Ares is about brutal warfare, Athena is about war strategies and finesse, while Mars took up some of Athena's elements that he kinda differs out than Ares. If the original myth can do this, why the hell not for the Pantheon?
  • Be creative! If you need some time to work out your potential deity's profile, use the Pending Gods or Pending Gods 2 page to get help. Incomplete and/or low-quality entries are more likely to get deleted or replaced.
  • When writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. See also the Rules section. Especially the 1st bullet point.
  • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name.
  • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it's well advised not to abuse them. Aside from introducing too many niche concepts, there are still chances for new tropes related to your chosen deity's title to be launched through YKTTW...
    • Additionally however, the only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. IE: Their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they're closely associated with In-Universe, or both (example: Gangplank and his oranges).
  • Maximum number of tropes what a god should have is three, but don't try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused.
  • Some series will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps, as well. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it's because they're a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they're connected to another deity in their respective canon.
  • As far as deities from actual mythologies (Greco-Roman, Norse, Japanese, etc.) are concerned, try not to replicate the default myths about their characters and use a fictional counterpart instead. In other words, if you want to use the Greek/Roman god Ares/Mars, you can't add him as the "God of War", but you can use him as part of another trope as long as it's a different version of him. For example:
    • Zeus, while having elements of his persona from Classical Mythology, draws more from his portrayal in the God of War Series.
    • Thor and Loki's Pantheon portrayals are influenced heavily by their appearances in their Marvel Comics series.
    • Amaterasu is a woman in her Japanese mythology portrayal, but her Pantheon counterpart is the dog goddess from Ōkami.
  • Don't depend too much on the hype/meme train, don't just jump onto that train willy-nilly in order to put on some events or entry in the Pantheon. It might not last very long or represent the trope best. This is Trope Pantheons, not Trope Hype Train!
  • Unless the character proposed is specifically from the Abridged version, the character should represent the tropes in their canon selves. If they also happen to possess the trait of the Abridged self, good! But otherwise, get the abridged stuff onto just the flavor texts.
  • To prevent any surprising need to rework profiles due to new development, please restrain from ascending gods from a series before the thing is either released or for longer-running series, there is a good enough of a break from story. This also applies to already existing series if there is a new thing coming out.
  • Please be sure to ask in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you don't waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
    • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else.
  • It is much more recommended to word the title like "God of X" instead of "The God that Xs". This will give off the vibe the God actually ruled over that trope instead of just 'did X', giving more credentials to how it's the best example of the trope.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Deity Template
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Potential House:
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity. This doesn't always have to be a representation of power, but it can also represent influence in the Pantheon.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Song that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D.
  • Gender: For Pokémon deities only. Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
  • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
  • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies.
  • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals.
  • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes.
  • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that have various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.) other than allies, rivals, or enemies.
  • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Pokémon.
  • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
  • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or find pitiable.
  • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by, regardless of alignment.
  • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.

So, I was told that TWEWY!Beat doesn't exactly fit Idiot Hero since he's not the main character, and was suggested Cool Board instead. Should I do that, or is him keeping Idiot Hero just fine?

  • Greater God, but his RG/UG form is that of a Lesser God
  • Returning To: Divine Roles
  • [tup]s:
  • Symbol: His cell phone
  • Theme Song: Calling
  • Alignment: True Neutral at first with an Evil leaning, Neutral Good after development
  • Portfolio: Tough, Effeminate Men, Has An Eye For The Brooding Anti-Hero Kind, Ambiguously Gay, Uses His Cellphone To Drop Objects From The Sky Or Cast Down Beams Of Light, Deadpan Snarker, Insufferable Genius, Physical God, Lonely at the Top, Being The Composer Is Hard, Authority Equals Asskicking, Victorious Antagonist, tries to corrupt Neku but ends up being "purified" by him instead, Not-So-Easily Forgiven, Restored My Faith in Humanity, Smug Smiler, Took a Level in Kindness
  • Domains: Death, Disguise, Holiness, Tokyo (or specifically, Shibuya)
  • Herald: Sanae Hanekoma, The Producer, and is actually of higher rank than Joshua. However, he prefers not to have that much attention, which is why he isn't the representative deity.
  • High Priest: Peco
  • Followers: Mokona, The Rainbow Faces, Fizban/Paladine, The Celestial, Luna/Althena
  • Allies: Neku Sakuraba, Shiki Misaki, Beat, Rhyme, Sora, Riku, Oerba Dia Vanille, Kaworu Nagisa, Bruce Nolan
  • Enemies: Master Xehanort and his cohorts, YHVH, enactors of Assimilation Plots like Keel Lorenz
  • Respected by: Crow
  • Opposed By: Sho Minamimoto
  • When Neku first met Joshua, it was during his second Reaper's Game where Shiki became his entry fee, requiring him to find a new partner. He was like Neku, but encouraged his isolationism, which Neku resisted since by that time, he's been learning to open up to people thanks to Shiki. There was also the fact that Joshua might've been the reason he was in the Reaper's Game in the first place by killing him. Despite that, Joshua has come to think of Neku as a friend.
    • The truth turns out to be a lot more complicated than that. He's actually the Composer, who orchestrates the Reaper's Game in the first place, and he planned on Shibuya's destruction because he thought it was losing its Imagination and wanted it destroyed before its influence could poison the rest of the world. His Game Master Kitaniji was against the idea, so the two played a Game to determine the district's fate. And Neku was Joshua's Proxy, meant to represent the worst of Shibuya to validate its destruction. However, his time spent with Neku, who changed almost completely for the better over the course of three Reaper's Games, ultimately convinced him to spare the city; if even the worst can improve, maybe it isn't hopeless for Shibuya to do the same.
  • Joshua has been in the Pantheon for a long time now, despite having no trope to his name (although he could've been someone's follower/high priest for awhile), and he had observed the ascensions of Neku and Beat, but never made an appearance until shortly after the Great Upheaval. He had distracted himself by playing Tin Pin Slammer in an alternate universe, which he had visited before for most of Neku's third week in the UG playing the Reaper's Game a third time before Hanekoma called him back. After satisfying his boredom, he returned to the Pantheon, and soon found a trope for his own: God Was My Co Pilot.
  • Joshua is usually found on the mortal plane, observing mortals from a distance. Whenever Neku and Beat make trips down to the mortal realm to spend time with Shiki and Rhyme (before their own ascensions to the Pantheon), Joshua keeps his distance, but still watches. He wanted to join them as Neku's friend, but never did, at least until Sora convinced him to.
    • It was thanks to him that Rhyme eventually ascended, by channeling her dreams.
  • He's a rather annoying person to be around, but is still rather smart, to the point where he can keep up with Minamimoto's rambling.
  • Ever since returning the Pantheon, Sho Minamimoto has once again started making attempts on Joshua's life. He's more interested in being the Composer than taking his position in the Pantheon, however. CRUNCH! He'll add God Was My Co Pilot to the heap. No attempts were successful as of yet. He's rather amused by these attempts, over all.
  • Is in direct opposition of Master Xehanort and his cohorts for the Heartless destroying his and his friends' world sometime after the whole Reaper's Game business. Joshua saved what he could of them by bringing the remnants of their dreams to Traverse Town when it appeared before him and used Rhyme's dream to open the portal into it. That was where he met and befriended Sora and Riku.
  • Is perfectly alright with wearing women's clothing.
  • Shio Ramen is his preferred form of tribute.
  • Only a select few in the Pantheon have seen Joshua in his full Composer form. Even Sora and Riku only got a glimpse at his wings. Minamimoto may have seen it, but both refuse to comment on the matter.
  • Despite his godlike powers, he too was a victim of the Friendship Asylum. Neku, Rhyme and Beat were able to save Joshua from the asylum, but not without a corrupted Riku being able to torture Joshua with his magical feathers. The resulting wounds would require Black Jack to operate on Joshua to save his life.
  • Has the respect of Crow of all gods for his victory in deciding on the fate of Shibuya and using the hero Neku as a pawn for accomplishing that plan. Sure, he ultimately decided to spare the city when his original plan was to destroy it, but that's not that much different from Crow's own change of mind when it came to his plans.
  • After one time where Shinji Ikari briefly confused him for Kaworu, Joshua decided to pay this other White-Haired Pretty Boy a visit. At his temple, they both learned about each other's roles and worlds, which has also brought SEELE to Joshua's attention.
    • After hearing of their Assimilation Plot by way of Instrumentality, it deeply disturbed him how much worse other variants of Kitaniji's plan could've gone in the hands of other people and has promised to help put these to an end.
  • Is currently not answering any questions as to why he's "abandoned" Neku after Coco killed him in the events of A New Day.

The Court of Gods appointed them for the position because of how they got their powers and how they wanted to protect other users from the scientists, which they succeeded thanks to Yuu's ability. Although they don't want it as they want to be normal and how Yu is the only one who still has his abilities, which may caused a lot of attention, they decided to accept it for the time being. The group also has reunited with Misa, who can appear in the Pantheon without the use of the channeling abilities. Yusa hugged Misa, stating that he regretted of how she never knew her powers, how she wished to talk to her while she still have her abilities, and how she's happy that they get an actual reunion and able to hang out in the Pantheon with the rest of their friends.
  • Hearing about the existence of superheroes and supervillains, they think they're just taking a huge risk because they could endanger themselves and other civillains, but otherwise admire the superheroes using their powers for wanting to protect everyone and abhorred the supervillains for using their powers for selfish reasons. Yusa and Ayumi have bigger admiration for the superheroes because of their bubbly personalities.
  • They are retorted upon hearing that Steve Rogers gained his abilities through experimentation, thinking that he gaiend them without his permission. But after hearing that he does it to protect his country from the Nazis, they couldn't blame him for that, realizing that he is really determined to do anything to protect the world even if 70 years have passed since then and remain on good terms with him because of it.
  • They are interested in hearing about the Witches because they gained their abilities when they are young but eventually lose them through age. But they couldn't relate to them on using them for a battlefield and that some of them want to keep their powers even if they will lose them as the group want to hide their powers from the rest of the world and how terrorists that used similar weapons like the Witches wanted to exploit them. They can tell that they are using it to defend the world and think that their cause is noble, which they respected.
  • Exclusive to Yuu:
    • Yuu can take over the abilities from other users, who at first thought that he could only take over someone's body for five seconds. Originally using it for selfish purposes, he became kinder after Nao recovered him from his insanity. He became insane again because of how he constantly steal other people's powers, but his promise to Nao because of a love confession kept him sane and eventually went back to Japan, but loses all of his memories. Despite this, he became an Nao's boyfriend and began a new life with the rest of his friedns.
    • Being told of his abilities because of his amnesia in the Pantheon, Yuu has a hard time grasping it and doesn't know if he could use them like in the past. Thanks to the function of his abilities, he befriended Anna Marie. The superhero praises him for using his abilities for selfless reasons instead for using them selfishly in the past back when he didn't know the true function of his power. Yuu doesn't know if he could handle the praise, but he nontheless appreciates it.
    • Gets compared with Lelouch vi Britannia because they are both aloof teenagers have eye powers that could manipulate others that only works once, overprotective towards their sisters, and are prone to evil laughs. Due to becoming a blank slate thanks to his amnesia, he befriended him very quickly and Lelouch feels bad for his current condition as he suffered from amnesia like him before and only able to see with one eye and bound to a wheelchair reminds him of Nunally, which contributed more to their friendship. While he isn't sure about the plan he made making himself an evil dictator to erase the world's hatred, the two remain on speaking terms and he can tell that Lelouch is still a good person underneath.
  • Exclusive to Nao:
    • Nao invinsibility, but only one person couldn't see her. Suffering from a dark childhood because her mother sold her and her brother out for experimentation, causing the latter to go insane. Vowing herself to never trust anyone again, resulting in her becoming a loner, she eventually met Shunsuke, the only person she could trust and became the Student Council President of Hoshinoumi Academy. She also loves Zhiend which was introduced from her by her brother and will trash anyone who hates it and doesn't identify it as a post-rock band.
    • As such, due to being the student council president, she was approached by the former holder of them, Makoto Niijima. Makoto doesn't like how her job mostly consists of her doing missions and not doing any student council work, but considering what the academy really is, she decises to let it slide. She considers teaching her what it means to be a student council president since the rest of the world loses their powers. Since she is still the student council president of the academy, Nao accepts the request.
  • Exclusive to Takajou:
    • Takajou has super speed, but because he can't control it, he always get injuries and thus, has to wear protective gear to lessem it. He is also a big fan of Yusa Nishimori, who tends to act like a creep when it comes to her.
  • Exclusive to Yusa:
    • Yusa can let other spirits to take over her body. She is a popular Idol Singer from a band called How-Low-Hello, known as Yusa Nishimori as her stage name and affectionally called Yusarin by her fans. She is the only one in the student council who doesn't know that has powers until Misa said goodbye to her through a letter.
    • Gets along with Maya Fey as they are both spirit channelers who lose their older sisters at a young age whom they still adored. Maya in her part is baffled that Yusa is not aware of her own powers but could understand why it happened because of how airheaded she is and the professional spirit medium is even fascinated at her "Spell Series" and wants to try them to see if they could work, much to Phoenix's chargin.
    • At first, Yusa gets along with Misa Amane thanks to being an idol and the fact they are both bubbly, clueless teenagers who refer to themselves in third person and the fact the other idol shares the same first name as her older sister. She became wary of her after finding out she is the Second Kira and how she is willing to do anything for Light Yagami. Yusa has stayed out of Misa Amane's sight ever since.
    • Became interested upon hearing that the Mermaid Princesses are mermaids who became magical girl idol singers and befriended them qucikly. She thinks that their voices are beautiful and wants to know if they could appear in one of her concerts for a collab.
  • Exclusive to Misa:
    • Misa has pyrokinessis. She died through an accident and ever since then, stays in the living world while being possessed by her younger sister. After kearning about Yuu's mission to took over the abilities from other users, she then says goodbye to her new friends as she accepts that she could never be with them again.
    • Gets along with Stella Vermillion as they are both Hot-Blooded teenage girls who use pyrokinesis if they are pissed off who really care about the people they love but show it off in a cold-hearted manner.
  • Exclusive to Ayumi:
    • Ayumi can collapse buildings, which caused her death before Yuu created a new timeline. The only one who isn't a member of the student council and isn't involve in any of their missions even if she is now of the existence of ability users because of the aforementioned time travel, Despite her age, she acts like his guardian and constantly makes the Otosaka omelette recipe because it is her brother's favorite. Like Takajou, she loves Yusarin and when it comes to her, she gets a huge nosebleed.
    • Because her awakening of her powers is caused by a Ax-Crazy jealous yandere which made her die before the time travel, she tried to stay away from other yanderes.
    • One of Ayumi's favorite pasttimes is stargazing using a telescope. As such, she befriended Rosalina for being an ambiguous cosmic being who loves in space. She also loves the Lumas she lives with because they're living stars, plays with them often and listens to Rosalina's storybook with the other Lumas. Ayumi asked Rosalina if she could visit the Comet Observatory whatever she want because she wants to travel in space, who the latter gave the permission to.

What should I add to Gerry?

Gerald Rudolph Ford Junior, Divine Representative Of The Twenty-Fifth Amendment (The 38th President Of The United States Of America (and before that, the 40th Vice President), Gerry, Mr Nice Guy. Birth name: Leslie Lynch King Jr.)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gerald_ford_portrait.jpg
  • House: Legal Process (House of Justice)
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: His signature on a copy of the 25th amendment
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Became A Forgettable Veep Then President Through The Twenty-Fifth Amendment, Nice Guy, Prone To A Number Of Gaffes, The Nondescript, Former Fashion Model, Loves American Football
  • Domains: Succession, Leadership, Amendments, Friendliness, Goofs
  • Heralds: Nelson Rockefeller (his vice president), Bob Dole (his 1976 running mate), and his beloved golden retriever Liberty
  • Complicated Relationship With: Richard Nixon's head (the head of his president)
  • Allies: The other Real Life presidents (particularly JFK, who he was contemporary to), Homer Simpson, Philip J Fry, Pops Maellard, Josiah Bartlet, America, Captain America
  • Enemies: The Child Abuse Supporters, Herbert Garrison, Senator Steven Armstrong, Nazi deities like the Red Skull, Goro Akechi
  • Opposes: Edward Blake/The Comedian
  • For over a century and a half, there was some ambiguity on what happens if the US president is incapable of performing their duties. While John Tyler established that the vice president takes over if the president dies, it wasn't until 1967 where a vacancy in the vice presidency would be filled. The 25th amendment came up to make it clear that the vacancy had to be filled, and if the president was incapacitated but not dead the vice president serves as acting president. Three instances of this amendment involve Gerald Ford, who went from house minority leader to vice president to president without even being on an electoral ticket.
  • Chosen to replace Spiro Agnew as Nixon's VP because he resigned out of being busted for bribery and tax evasion as governor, which was completely unrelated to the Watergate Scandal that Nixon had to resign, which made him president. Then he used the 25th amendment to make Nelson Rockefeller his vice president, and is known for being the only person to become president purely because of said amendment. Having pardoned Nixon(which may have cost him election in his own right), he was saddened to see that in the 31st century, his old boss has become an insane madman. He's wondering why he picked Agnew's headless body as vice president.
  • Still serves as Nixon's vice president in the Alternate History of Watchmen. He can't avoid tripping down some stairs. The Comedian posed with him. Gerald Ford has gone on regretting that when he realized what a Sociopathic Hero Eddie Blake is. He doesn't like the fact that, in any universe, Herbert Garrison became president due to his policy of "fuck em all to death" and nuking of Canada. Being clean cut, down to earth and one of the friendliest POTUS, Garrison's Anything That Moves Angry White Man attitude could not be a bigger contrast.
  • While admitting he has good intentions, Gerald Ford finds the social darwinist "paradise" Senator Armstrong would bring to be utter madness. It doesn't help his opinion of Armstrong that he saw to the end of a rather hellish war. The ascended Real Life presidents, however, he finds himself agreeing with them. Ford gets on the best with Kennedy, given they lived around the same time and he was even involved in the Warren Commission trying to figure out the truth of the assassination.
  • Gerald Ford is happy to see a good-natured fictional president exist in the form of Josiah Bartlet, who is somewhat snarky but otherwise a competent and kind commander in chief. Wishes his vice presidents had a better relationship with him, though. As a nice and salt of the earth leader, Ford gets along with Pops as well.
  • Was born Leslie Lynch King Jr, but renamed himself after his step-dad. He only met his biological father once, who his mother broke off their marriage shortly after his birth because he was alcoholic and abusive, and King Sr just gave him 10 dollars. Ford considers him a Glorified Sperm Donor, and has a distaste for the Child Abuse Supporters because their cruelty towards their own family reminds him of how his bio-dad was a bad husband and would've ended up as a bad father.
  • Ford would rather stay away from Goro Akechi. While he can understand his personal anger at his deadbeat sociopath of a father, Akechi is an unstable assassin with a serious case of Complexity Addiction in getting back at daddy. Plus Ford had two attempts on his life as president. He isn't going to say anything on the Phantom Thieves habit of Heel–Face Brainwashing crooked adults besides not being all that comfortable in it, though admits a lot of their targets are pretty damn loathsome so he gets why. They find him a decent enough president anyway.
  • Isn't happy to learn there are a number of Nazis in the pantheon. Asides from the general antipathy they bring and being an American leader, Gerald Ford had enlisted in the navy during World War 2(though in the Pacific theater). He was happy to learn Captain America was in the Pantheon and ready to kick Nazi ass. He was also happy to learn that the country he loves and served as leader was personified.
  • A big fan of football, having helped the Michigan Wolverines to achieving two undefeated seasons. He was a star player. Another surprising early job Gerald Ford had was that of fashion model; he wasn't always The Nondescript. Sometimes he likes to visit the House of Sports to flex his old skills at football again, or golf. It's said he once joked that he knows he's going to Hell because he pardoned Richard Nixon.
  • Was a neighbor of The Simpsons at a point. Compared to the disastrous relationship Homer had with George H. W. Bush, their interaction went well. As they're both amicable salt of the earth guys they chilled and had nachos and beer. Homer still has a picture of the two and was happy to meet Ford again. Ford was happy to meet Fry again, who worked at the head museum for a time(as did his time duplicate Lars Fillmore).
  • Among things tied to the Ford administration are the first government shutdown, having one of the most politically active First Ladies, performing well for a troubled period in American history and being the first president from Michigan(though he was born in Nebraska). But among things he's derided for are tripping because of an inner ear problem, the aforementioned pardoning of Nixon, and being the only vice president and president never elected to that office. Also being portrayed by Chevy Chase in Saturday Night Live. Took it in stride though, and the two became friends after he left office.

An encouraging beginning. It would help to appoint a leader to each separate task force if necessary and list their function in battle, just in case the titles aren't clear enough, and some grammar mistakes. Well done!

P.S.: Pretty sure there's way, way more people to be added here. So m1gami, maybe scour the Pantheon just in case for more members.

New profile? Let's check it out...

Grand Dad, God of Unlicensed Games (GRAND DAD, FLEENTSTONES?!)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grand_dad_53.png
  • Potential House: Hardware & Software
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His Sprite Form and the Number 7
  • Theme Song: 7 Grand Dad
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good (Some versions suggest he might be Chaotic Evil)
  • Portfolio: Adaptational Villainy or Adaptational Heroism depending on what he does, Cool Old Guy, Serial Killer (As a villain), Head Swap of Mario and Fred Flinstone, Palette Swap, Shoddy Knockoff Product, Older Than They Look
  • Domains: Bootleg Games, Weirdness, Licenses, Murder, Memes
  • Allies: Joel, SiIvaGunner, Chad Warden, Missigno
  • Enemies: The Voice Inside your Head, SMG4 and his Mario, The House of Justice
  • Weirds Out: Mario, Fred Flintstone
  • What is Grand Dad? A huge icon of the Bootleg Gaming Market and someone who took the internet by storm. He was discovered by Joel when he was playing a Mario Collection game and stumble upon him. The rest is history.
  • His appearance can change depending on his mood. For times he appears as a recolored Mario with a different symbol in his cap (The one pictured above and the most recognizable). Othertimes, he appears as a caveman with Mario's head and this avatar is the one he doesn't really uses often unless he is interacting with prehistoric deities.
  • Naturally, they all thought that he was Mario but deities quickly realized that something was off about this one, constantly yelling the words "GRAND DAD" and "FLEENTSTONES?" in Joel Johannson's voice. Considering what happened the last time someone impersonated Mario caused untold damage, the authorities decided to quickly step in and relocate him somewhat safe.
  • SiIvaGunner was overjoyed to find Grand Dad in the pantheon and paid him a visit. Considering that he is one of the longest running jokes in the channel, it was obvious SiIva had a weak spot for Grand Dad. Similarly, Joel also went to visit Grand Dad by reenacting the famous words that he uttered the first time that he saw him.

@M1gami: I think Sonic and company should be a GUAG Group named, I dunno, Mobius Freedom Fighters or something. That includes Gamma. Same for Luffy and the other Straw Hat Pirates, the Z Fighters, Team Phantom (Danny's team), and both Team Avatars. Ratchet's also already in Engineering.

Again, not all of Overwatch qualify as Combat (like Mercy in the Medical Division, Torbjörn in Engineerng, Reinhardt in the Sacred Knights, etc). Edward is in that Groups page already alongside Cecil and the rest.

Stannis might fall under Command, and you should try to add the rest of the Westeros heroes such as the Starks (though Tony's already in the Superhero Division), Tyrion (as one of the Support), etc.

[down] The main fighters, okay, but not some of their allies such as Chi-Chi and Bulma (well, the latter's already in Engineering). Or Mr. Satan.

In addition, I also had another division planned here: GUAG Special Crimes Division. Donaldthe Potholer also had some divisions planned.

[down]No, the Doctor does not. That's why he's in the GUAG Groups page. EDIT: Please put him back? Or check the page history. The reason I put him in the Groups is because I was assuming that all the regenerations are separate entities in the Pantheon

[up] Theon's under the GUAG Ministry of Atonement. Yup, the Dragon Team's allies can stay in GUAG Groups.

Feel that some GUAG Group members can stay in the Combat Division in their own right, like the Z Fighters.

And does that the Doctor really belong in the Combat Division of all places?

EDIT: His main profile seems to treat the Doctor as the Thirteenth Doctor right now, with his past incarnation having been in the Pantheon at points in their active lives, so I consider him an individual.

Ok guys, goodnight!

An old profile that has been standing in my sandbox. Currently in a Dark Souls mood. Anyone who would be kind to give me suggestions for the Abyss Watchers?

  • Are there people outside the House of Darkness & Shadow subhouse who uses dark?
  • Are there other leaders of legions, or perhaps knights who have dedicated their lives purging dark?

The Abyss Watchers, Divine Practitioners of Full Offensive Strategies (The Undead Legion of Farron, Followers of Artorias)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_39.jpeg
  • Leitmotif: Abyss Watchers, alternatively All for One.
  • Lesser Gods, but becomes Intermediate once the Lord of Cinder mode is activated
  • Alignment: Mishmashed between Chaotic Good to Chaotic Neutral
  • Symbol: The Watchdogs of Farron emblem
  • Portfolio: An Undead Legion dedicated to hunting down the Abyss, Band of Brothers, Extremely overzealous soldiers, Has wolves as a theme, Acrobatic combat, Fast damaging Wolf Pack Boss, Blood Link via wolf's blood Following Artorias' legacy, Once a selfless (scary) order of knights who were dedicated to protecting humanity
  • Domains: Wolves, Fire, Sword-Dagger Combos, Legacies, Acrobatics
  • Heralds: The Watchdogs of Farron
  • Followers to: Knight Artorias
  • Allies:
  • Rivals: Reaper
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With most Paladins, especially to Artix Von Krieger and Uther the Lightbringer
  • Enemies: Anyone who is related to Dark, especially Manus, False King Allant and those from the Darkness & Shadow subhouse, The Everlasting Bringers of Night
  • The main force of the Undead Legion of Farron, the Abyss Watchers are known to be the great warriors hellbent on destroying anything related to the Abyss. These soldiers utilize full on attacks, with no rest, as evidenced by their attitudes, style of attacks and their reputation. Sadly, even after being corrupted by the very thing they were sworn against, they still utilize full on attacks, making them very terrifying to fight.
  • The very attack movestyles they employ are actually based on their founder: Artorias the Abysswalker. Well, "loosely" is a better term considering that their attack styles are reminiscent but not exact as their founder. One of their former members, Hawkwood the Deserter, actually knows Artorias' exact moveset, using a shield and a greatsword rather than the typical sword-dagger combo the Watchers use. Too bad they laughed at him till he quitted the legion.
    • This very attitude of the Legion made them quite boastful of their abilities and very dangerous in combat. Unfortunately, there are openings in their movesets that a smart warrior can use against them. This made them very poor in regards to self-defense, in comparison to their offensive attacks.
  • The Watchers found the Pantheon after hearing reports of The First Flame being spotted inside, as well as various dark-related abominations spotted within the area. In a typical Legion-esque visit, they barged in the main gates and attempted to burn the area down. Unfortunately, the gods saw this and immediately stopped the Legion. Forcing Lord Gwyn to intervene and preserve the Watchers. They still reside within Pantheon grounds, but now, they are under Gwyn's orders.
  • Anything, or anyone who is related to dark, either for good or bad intentions, will be a primary target for the Abyss Watchers, as their legacy seeks to remove any trace of dark, as what they did to New Londo and burned the entire nation down. The House of Darkness & Shadow are keeping maximum security on due to their presence.
    • Despite housing some nasty dark deities, the Watchers are forbidden from entering the Otherness Abominations subhouse due to the presence of Manus, Father of the Abyss. This may be because of the fact that the Abyss lead to the Legion's downfall and made the entire army fight each other to the death. Many deities do not want the Abyss Watchers from going out of control again.
  • The Legion's mode of eliminating dark has been contested by the likes of both Uther and Artix, with both seeing the Watchers' way of dealing against the dark forces rather unpleasant and merciless. Uther in particular has a beef with the Watchers, seeing them as "failed Paladins" due to a lack of mercy towards their enemies.
  • Reaper has made it clear that he will NOT join the Abyss Watchers, despite receiving some invitations and even the sword and dagger weapons. He does tolerate albeit of the Legion Etiquette gesture, in comaprison to most deities who cannot stand the edge.
