Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For PokĂ©mon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the PokĂ©mon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the PokĂ©mon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a PokĂ©mon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

[up][up] Here's your answer, given some of the interest in the new Dominion I have here. As far as I remember, I have introduced this earlier.

No [tup]'s mode:

Heavenly Host Elementary School, Unholy Seat of Old School Buildings (Tenjin Elementary School, Nirvana)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heavenlypre_03.png
  • Description: A nightmarish, rundown school for young children now inhabited by evil spirits
  • Symbol: The school emblem, alternatively, cut-off tongues
  • Alignment (given its semi-sentience): Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: And I Must Scream, Another Dimension, Bloody Horror, The Corruption, Eldritch Location, Genius Loci, Made of Evil, Malevolent Architecture, Old School Building, Razor Wire, You Can't Fight Fate
  • Domains: Death, Despair, Insanity, Gore, Human Nature
  • Sacred to: Its resident ghosts (the school staff and the three murdered children), particularly Sachiko, deities from other franchises like Junko Enoshima and Monokuma, and to a certain extent, the Joker
  • Unholy to: All students who have been trapped in it, Keiichi Maebara, Mion and Shion Shinozaki, Rena Ryuguu, Rika Furude
  • Heavenly Host Elementary School was once a thriving school in the Japanese village of Tenjin. However, tragedy struck when a series of murders happened in 1975 leading to its demolition. Unbeknownst to anybody, the power of the ghost of Sachiko Shinozaki reformed the old school as a multi-layered murder-dimension, powered by suffering and constantly changing its layout to confuse, terrify, and slaughter its victims.
  • The only way to enter the school is through the Sachiko Ever After friendship charm, where Sachiko's name is recited over a paper cutout and torn. If the reciters only read the name for each person and do not include an extra one to appease Sachiko, they will be sucked into a hellhole where they are sure to meet a Cruel and Unusual Death.
    • Even with the knowledge that Death Is Cheap in the Pantheon, plenty of horror stories have been circulated by those who have dared to venture into the school. Kenzo Tenma, who thankfully decided not to attempt it, stated that even the research he did into the place would unnerve all but the most depraved gods.
  • It is a known fact that no deity with decency will willingly step into the school unless they are completely pure of heart, as anyone who gets caught in its curse is more than likely to go insane from the substance the school is made of, Darkening, which corrupts the soul to its very core.
    • Occasionally, nearly-invisible piano wires can be found stretched across the hallways of Heavenly Host Elementary. These wires can effortlessly slice through flesh at even the lightest touch, and are deliberately placed in areas where one could accidentally run into them without noticing, such as at the bottom of a staircase.
    • If you survive those, the ghosts will be sure to do you in. Or get completely bludgeoned to oblivion by the students that went insane inside it. We could go on, but you get the point.
  • Junko Enoshima has openly stated her interest in the place, seeing it as a useful tool in perfecting and spreading the Ultimate Despair. One of The Joker's new pastimes after discovering this Dominion is to attempt installing security cameras all over the place so he could watch the fun.
  • The Court of the Gods has been twiddling their thumbs nervously since this place's rise to Dominion, awaiting the inevitable ascension of a Corpse Party deity. One hopes its one of the students and not a ghost.
    • Despite no Corpse Party deities having ascended yet, deities from When They Cry have scorned Darkening as an even worse version of the Himamizawa syndrome.
  • Given the constant foiling of her plans by Erma Williams, Sadako Yamamura has taken to roaming this place in her spare time.
  • There are rumors that this mad dimension is secretly connected to the extradimensional space holding the headquarters of the Grand United Alliance of Evil. Is Melkor secretly behind the calamity of Darkening?

Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres, God of Rationalist Fiction (General Chaos, Harryzer, Tom Riddle, Good Voldemort)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harry_james_potter_evans_verres_by_talespirit_d50gn4y.jpg
Art by talespirit
  • Due to his very rational mindset, to get most of the questions (and answer-searching) over with, he was immediately explained everything about the Trope Pantheons, how things there don't fully operate on rational thought, that the world operates in a narrative sense (he is to consult with Stephen and Morgana about Observation and Cognition as soon as his temple was set up), that significant change won't come easy, and other caveats that make it so that he doesn't have to worry about leaving his world behind while he's here.
  • His run-in with his canon counterpart had been... complicated, and he's been warned not to react too negatively about any irrational decisions they made throughout their lives.
    • Rational Harry's meeting with Canon Harry actually went well enough. He's aware of one key difference (among plenty others) that set the two apart; their upbringing and whom their Aunt Petunia had married. A life of abuse brought about low self-esteem and humility, whereas a life of scientific upbringing (and all the books to provide for it) brought about intelligence... and a "mild" case of superiority. Despite that, Rational Harry is still very much a hero, possibly to a greater extent than Canon Harry in terms of dedication to helping others.
      • In the end, Rational Harry decided to regard Canon Harry as someone he could've been had things went differently, but isn't ultimately that much lesser for it.
      • To better tell apart the two Harry Potters, remember that the Canon one is in/past his Seventh Year, while Rational Harry is in his First, and occasionally in his House Ravenclaw robes.
    • Regarding Canon Hermione, he's had to remind himself that this isn't the one he knows from his world. The lack of (miniscule) troll and unicorn traits should be enough of a difference, not to mention being older. Still, Canon Hermione was shocked that in his world, the mountain troll ate her counterpart's legs and she bled to death, and that Rational Harry took great lengths to bring her back to life.
    • Has nothing to say to Canon Ron, given they never became friends in his timeline. The only thing that bothers him is the fact that it's he who marries Canon Hermione, and he has trouble comprehending what she saw in him.
    • On the other hand, he has a better friendship with Canon Fred and George and often visits them for supplies, and possibly some help in pulling pranks (some epic enough that they Obliviate themselves to keep the details secret should they get caught). Also, in his timeline, in lieu of Harry, they become the Heirs of Gryffindor instead. The twins were amazed that that was even possible.
    • Regarding Canon Draco, he's annoyed with the Slytherin's former bratty behavior, and he also feels awkward given he'd killed his father Lucius (and all the other Death Eaters), but at least he's trying to be better.
      • In fact, he wants to test if Canon Draco has enough happy thoughts of his parents that can render him able to summon a Patronus just like his world's Draco. Both Canon Draco and Ron think that is impossible, but Rational Harry took it as a challenge; he's done more impossible things already.
      • By extension, he tries to avoid Canon Lucius, given Rational Harry doesn't have the same political arrangement with him as the one from his world.
    • True, it took far longer, and he's not nearly as dedicated or as insanely brilliant, but he still respects Canon Neville's achievements. Neville on the other hand doesn't share the same sentiments, given that Rational Harry had been instrumental in freeing Bellatrix from Azkaban in his world, even if Quirrel/Voldemort manipulated him into it; as a "rationalist", shouldn't he have seen how much of a terrible idea it was?
    • Was initially surprised to see Canon Dumbledore, given how the one in his world ended up trapped in the Mirror of Erised. At the very least, he doesn't seem to be pretending to be sane pretending to be crazy.
    • He also has amicable relations with Canon McGonagall, though he found her a bit more stern, just like how she was when he first met her. He also decided to confide in her possible consequences for that by telling her of his world's version of the troll attack in First Year. Not enough help arrived with Harry to save Hermione from death (from bleeding out after her legs were eaten), and even after Fred and George saved the day with the Sword of Gryffindor, they fully expected to he expelled for going against the letter of her orders.
    • He's not sure what he can say to Canon James, but he treats Harry with as much love and pride that he was still a hero, attitude notwithstanding.
    • In regards to Canon Moody, given how he was subject to Informed Ability, Harry wondered what would be the best approach to gauging his abilities; alternate universe counterparts were not something he was used to yet. And then he found himself attacked in his temple by a paranoid Moody, and Harry was forced to step up his game to match. Neither are telling who won that duel, but Harry seemed to be satisfied at the end of it.
    • Naturally, upon hearing of a second Harry Potter in the Pantheon, Canon Voldemort and his Death Eaters were displeased with this and immediately made to teach him his place. Rational Harry summarily trounced them with his experience as General Chaos, and the fact that the Canon Dark Lord was nowhere near as competent as the version he had to deal with in his world made it all the easier.
    • Was left baffled that one of the theories of the implausible events between the Canon Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew was what actually happened. Naturally, given there was never a chance to meet, Rational Harry isn't nearly as close to Sirius as Canon Harry is. It doesn't help that in his world Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew are the same person. It turns out that, in there, Peter Pettigrew was a metamorphmagus instead of an animagus, and an actually guilty Sirius Black avoided being sent to Azkaban by arranging for a transformed and Confunded Peter to be arrested and imprisoned in his place.
    • Given how little they've interacted, if at all, he has no real opinion on Canon Cedric, [[ Luna Lovegood]] Hagrid, Trelawney, Slughorn, Lupin, Fenrir, or Barty Crouch Sr.
  • When word of how he dealt with his world's Voldemort spread; i.e. Brainwashing for the Greater Good, then transfigured into a jewel Harry will carry around forever, until he can safely revive and redeem him, this drew a lot of concern. To the surprise of some of the good guys, Rational Harry can understand these concerns, explained that given Voldemort's Horcruxes are mostly invisible and inaccessible (one of them was the Pioneer Plaque), forcing this alternative, making killing him more trouble than it was worth, and promises not to resort to what he did as a first/second/third/fourth/etc. option, but an absolute last. He still has to maintain the transfiguration on his adversary, at least until he managed to secretly requisition a stasis chamber.
  • Has a sleep cycle of 26 hours, making regular class schedules difficult to adapt to. Thankfully, he has a Time-Turner for this, bequeathed by his world's Professor McGonagall, which is mostly a secret from most of the Pantheon. The only ones who know he possesses it (besides those who can sense it) are Hermione, McGonagall and Canon Harry.
    • This is because there are entities that wouldn't be happy with his constant exploitation of it, especially the Dahaka, and this has forced him to tone down his use of it to just getting around his sleep disorder (and other minor stuff, and use alternative methods for more important matters instead). He speculates that Canon Harry had sleep disorder too, but that it was long since stamped out by his abusive childhood.
  • Is always prepared for any possible occasion, most importantly situation where he has to save a life, and his mokeskin bag sees to it that he can carry it all and call for what he needs. He has no Freudian Excuse for this until the gruesome death of his world's Hermione. He'll also know if his memory was compromised; he has a system prepared specifically for that situation.
    • And if he doesn't have something, he can transfigure it. And he's so good at it that he's even learned how to do partial Transfiguration, which is so far impossible for any wizard from the Potterverse.
  • As he was born with a scientific upbringing, he readily utilizes Muggle items/"artifacts" in conjunction with what magic he's learned in Hogwarts, making him that much more unpredictable compared to other classical spellcasters.
  • Aside from annoying him with ideas that lack any form of rational basis, one thing that sets him off is the idea that his parents might've been abusive, because they're not.
  • Rational Harry leads one of the most efficient 'armies' in the Pantheon. While not one of the strongest, they are one of the few that are the least crippled when it comes to infiltrators in its ranks. This is because he employs parts of the recon pull philosophy, where his subordinates have the initiative and can choose what they think is best while he acts as the coordinator focusing on the big picture.
  • Ever since he missed his chance on getting a phoenix, he's been trying again, mainly though trying to figure out Phoenix and what it would take to earn its favor. So far, there has not been much success.
  • When he had first heard that there were Dementors in the Pantheon (and as deities, no less), Harry decided he would go on a manhunt to purge the Pantheon of their presence, calling them a wound in the world. Upon hearing they had a temple, he went straight there with clear intent to find a way to exterminate every last one of them. If only he had some way of luring every single one to a single place so he can destroy them all once and for all. Unfortunately for him, the Dementors have their own allies and that means he'll have to make sure to get rid of those gods, too.
    • And for some reason, his reputation in his world managed to precede him all the way to the Pantheon, for when he first encountered one face-to-face, it immediately hightailed it out of there, screaming in fright, and all other Dementor encounters ended up the same way. It baffled him at first since he certainly knew that Canon Harry doesn't have this reputation with them, but he eventually deduced and concluded that they somehow know of his accomplishments against them (be it from the Court or the nature of the Trope Pantheons), namely being able to outright destroy them with his unique brand of Patronus Charm, though it is Cast from Lifespan when used in that level rather than that of a standard Patronus.
    • As a side effect of being The Dreaded to Dementors, Harry's become a target for the despair-propagators in the Pantheon as they're also concerned with this development; what is he capable of that Dementors actively avoid him?
    • Speaking of his Patronus, the fact that he can cast one has somehow become public knowledge too, and that it takes the form of a Homo sapiens sapiens, though not the Dementor-killing bit or its ability to return life to a dead body. He's not teaching anyone how he does that; given its nature, and the required mindset, one has to personally come to the same conclusion and thought process he did lest they lose the ability to cast the standard Patronus Charm trying to mimic him.
  • Because of his symbol and his "chaos" strategy, some wonder if Discord or Q had anything to do with this inspiration. Both have denied all such claims.
  • Ever since first seeing McGonagall turn into a cat, even after learning Transfiguration in Hogwarts, he twitches upon seeing other shapeshifters do their stuff. The few exceptions are technical "blobs" such as the T-1000, and the Hard Light Crystal Gems (his real issue is with Steven's existence period and his ability to fuse just like them, even with a completely organic companion like Connie).
  • Just because he's extremely intelligent doesn't mean he's infallible; he's still 11 years old, after all, and his various shortcomings have made that painfully obvious to him.
  • After the near-disaster that was his war against Voldemort/Professor Quirrel and everything that has led to it, he's finally learned that he's not the only hero in this fight, and always makes sure to confide what he knows to his superiors (and other adults as long as they respect his intelligence and don't blow him off just because he's a minor) in the fight against evil, mostly Dumbledore and Cosmos. Given his great intellect, the latter is grateful to have someone like him on her side.
  • As his struggles are on behalf of humanity, he naturally opposes YHVH for his progress-stifling ideals, and Lucifer for his goals putting a lot of humanity in danger in his fight against the former.
  • A rumor (which might be true) spread that Harry had apparently killed a unicorn for its blood some of which might've been used for the revival process on his world's Hermione, earning him the ire of not only Lady Amalthea, but all non-evil-aligned denizens of Equestria (Rarity on top of that list) and Xerneas. Harry for his part is trying to make time to clear up this issue, but he's annoyed that "narrative reasons" keep him from doing so at every turn.
  • Sees death as the final enemy to life and something that should be ultimately removed forever one day, and so he holds no favor to all grim reapers and death deities, but finds the Death Is Cheap nature of the Pantheon as a temporary convenience to help achieve his goal.
    • It's true that Harry seeks immortality, but he wants it for everyone, so any other seekers of it that have no problem with taking lives to achieve it (like Alex Wesker), or require lives to maintain the immortality are enemies of his as not only do they go against everything he believes in, it would ruin the whole point of his goal.
  • Advises broomstick riders to never attach a rocket to it for faster flying; he tried that himself, and it almost cost him and his passengers, as well as almost getting his pursuers burnt.

So here's a question. Considering Darkseids true form is an Overdiety with Greater God Avatars, shouldn't something be done about the other New God's in the Pantheon? The thing about True forms and Avatars applies to ALL the New Gods, not just Darkseid.

[up] While that's true, not all the New Gods are as powerful as Darkseid is, and for most of them, like, say, Big Barda and Scott Free or Desaad, while they presumably all have true forms existing in Fourth World, it's impossible to say how powerful they are (other than to speculate that they're more powerful than their avatars), because as far as I know we've never seen them, as the only time we've seen a New God's true form is Darkseid's during Final Crisis.
In fact, probably the only one that we can fairly say would apply would be Izaya/Highfather (who, now that I think about it, could probably use a rework, too), Darkseid's equivalent on New Genesis, whose true form we can reasonably assume is on a scale similar to Darkseid's.

@ Heavenly Host: Molag Bal would be very, very fond of that place. There are rumors that go around saying the Daedric Prince plans on integrating with his realm of Coldharbour somehow, while others say the Prince actually plans on possessing the building for himself. Whatever is the case, one thing is for sure: Absolutely no one wants to get roped up in his plans considering his modus operandi is corruption and torture.

So here's an early draft for the Sumeragi Adepts. Obviously, it is not done so I am not taking any [tup]s. I'm mainly wanting suggestions and interactions outside of their own franchise.

Also if anyone asks why there isn't an image for the Swordsmen's normal forms it's because I lucked out with the Seven via official artwork. I remember I tried Frankensteining the Seven's renders and it didn't go so well so I didn't bother here.

  • Potential House: Naming Theme
  • [tup]s:
  • Intermediate Deities. Nova's Weaponized Form is a Greater God.
  • Symbols: The company's symbol, which resembles Sumeragi's Headquarters. Alteratively, the same symbol inverted to resemble a skull. Individually they have their respective Glaives.
  • Theme Song:
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil (Nova and Jota) Neutral Evil (Merak, Viper, and Carrera) Chaotic Evil (Elise and Stratos)
  • Portfolio: Thematic Rogues Gallery based on the Seven Deadly Sins (sans Lust), Working for the Sumeragi Group, Color-Coded Characters, Project Muse, Utilizing Glaives that allow Transformation and Amplification of their Septimas, Personality Powers
  • Domains: Psychic Powers, Mega Conglomerates, Subjugation, Sins
  • Followers: The Sumeragi Group's forces
  • Allies:
  • Rivals:
  • Enemies: Gunvolt, Zonda and the Seven,
  • Envies: The House of Electricity and anyone with lightning powers (Nova)
  • Respected by/Respects:
  • Pitied by/Pities:
  • Opposed by/Opposes:
  • Conflicting Opinion:
  • The force of nature known as the Lifewave was something that has been closely studied by the people who would be later known as the Sumeragi Group for generations. 1st to 3rd levels are the Muggles, 4th are people like psychics and soothsayers, 5th and 6th are otherwise miraculous and holy people. In modern times there would seen give rise to those attuned to the 7th wave, in other words the people known today as Adepts. While most of the world fell to ruin unable to deal with such individuals with extraordinary powers, the Sumeragi Group was able to maintain order in their small island nation and quickly took over as its de facto rulers. With a young boy named Nova leading the Sumeragi Swordsmen the MegaCorp's goals turned out to be much greater than many would assume. And they're willing to do whatever it takes to further such ends, inhumane experimentation on Muggles and Adepts be damned.
  • Applies to two or more:
    • (ascension)
  • Nova only:
    • In the past where Sumeragi wanted to harness the power of Septimas as an energy source through the plan Project Gunvolt. Unbeknownst to many, Nova was apart of said project and despite his determination to do so he didn't make the cut like so many before him. To compensate, he was instead granted the Septima of Psychokinesis and he managed to rise among the ranks of Sumeragi through talent in politics, charisma, and combat capability in spite of his young age. Leading Project Muse, Nova dreams of a world where Adepts and humans can co-exist even if it means at the cost of the former's free will. He would rather people not come to harm, but if it ultimately means order then so be it.
    • While not the Azure Striker Septima he wanted, Psychokinesis allows him dominion over space-time distorting energy through mere thought. With this he surpasses Gunvolt in fighting prowess and Nova is able to move objects with his mind, achieve flight, and pelter many a Energy Ball at his enemies. Simple, as its even documented as an early Septima, but most certainly effective. His Limit Break is essentially him converging energy on his opponents before sending one large one after them. All without undoing the three Power Limiters he has.
Nova: "Ruler from above! Hunt your sworn nemeses now and leave them no quarter! Mind Melder!"
      • If push comes to shove, he can unleash the full extend of his power through undoing his three Glaives: Heavenly Gathering Clouds, Yatagarasu, and Kurohyou. Becoming a gigantic robotic entity, Nova's ability to rain down divine hell on his foes includes the assistance of two combat drones, strong winds, pillars of light, bolts of lightning, and his Limit Break: A giant meteor.
Nova: "Emperor and god sent from galaxies afar to punish fools like this! Clamator Aethereus!"
    • That bit about him failing to harness the Azure Striker? He's still bitter about that, even if it did end up getting a better Septima in the end. It's part of the reason why he peppered his words with malice against GV for doing what he could not. This resentment extends to other people with electrical powers, and some part of him blew a fuse when he learned of the House of Electricity.
    • ()
    • "People need a compass. For Adepts, that compass is Sumeragi."
  • Merak only:
    • A kid picked on by other school children for his status as an Adept, Merak soon found himself working with Sumeragi's ranks after being scouted by Nova for his intelligence. Being apart of the Sumeragi Swordsmen didn't do much of anything to his laziness, though. Merak would much rather play video games than have to deal with whatever work has in store and was reacted negatively from being brought back from the dead again as per the rules of the Pantheon. His only motivation for working anyways was that it at least puts some food on the table and is at least grateful for Nova putting in the effort to bring him back.
    • Befitting a slacker with an intellect like Merak, his Septima is Wormhole which allows him to conjure up gateways carved from space itself. With it he can fight effectively without so much as exerting unwanted effort. Not only set up traps but also better barrage people on his Cool Chair. Whether its to multiply the amount of missiles he's shooting at someone or altering the size of his chair's fist for one hell of a sucker punch or even a Wave-Motion Gun such is the case with his Limit Break.
Merak: “Light whose fell pillars leave rifts in the wider world and lead it toward ruin! Lazy Laser!”
    • ()
    • "Worry about human lives? I can't be bothered with that drivel. All I want is a maxin' relaxin' life. Is that too much to ask for?"
  • Carrera only:
    • Greedy for a good fight to the death is a perfect descriptor for Carrera. Though he works for Sumeragi as an Adept Hunter, his loyalties all lie in the thrill of battle. GV notes he isn't exactly evil per se, but his associations sure paint him out to be like that. Simple as that. Anyone who fought him notes that he speaks very formally, in the Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe sort of way, and always of his pleasure for battle in every other sentence.
    • Wields the Septima of Magnetic Arts which is all about magnetic pull. Metal or not, with his Septima he's able draw things close by making him and whatever he wanted oppositely charged. And his strength and use of sheer brute force make way for a very brutal fighting style not helped by his ability to nullify other psychic powers. Limit Break is essentially him creating a giant magnetic field draws everything in, culminating in an equally giant explosion.
Carrera: “Greedy arms reach out to possess all within sight! Their grasp an awful vice! Quasar Collapse!”
    • ()
    • "I am Carrera, The Magnetic Fist. My orders are to protect the premises. I hath no interest in duty, justice or small talk. I only seek to do battle with a formidable foe..."
  • Jota only:
    • Patriotic and eager to prove himself for his country, Jota made it his goal to serve and joined the military like many of his family before him. Though Jota would soon learn of how helpless normal humans are against Adepts and if it wasn't for Nova's intervention that his life would of ended then and there. He was soon convinced that the MegaCorp would be the nation's future and joined up with them instead eventually rising to be apart of Nova's special squadron. You would be hard pressed to find someone so loyal to Sumeragi, even dubbing himself "Sumeragi's Shining Sentinel".
    • Sincerely believes that his enemies are the darkness to be purged by his light. Fitting, for his Septima of Lightspeed allows the manipulation of photons which are aided by the use of energy blades and his five photon guns. He can even turn himself into photons to go at, well, lightspeed. Jota's Limit Break has him use his Septima and guns to form a sword to cut a whole in space time above for the sole purpose of cornering his opponent to rush at them.
Jota: “Blade within whose wake light declares us all condemned before we flicker out! Phosphoratorium!”
    • ()
    • "Freedom...? Ha, nonsense! 'Freedom' is what an enemy nation brings to the country it defeats! It's just foolish adulation! Not that traitorous scum like you would understand!"
  • Elise only:
    • Apologetic, timid, and suffering from multiple personality disorder from years of bullying and built up envy towards normal people, Elise would soon find her world rocked when she one day received a mysterious email from inside a game where she practiced her escapism. In it was the ability to utilize her Septima for Player Killing but this soon caught the attention of Merak where he tracked her down and sent her off to Sumeragi without a thought. This resulted in her being experimented on and the implanting of an insane alter ego who went on to kill many researchers. They quickly tried to utilize a more confident and controlling one, but she ended up finishing what the other started.
    • Elise's Septima is Rebirth, which true to its name allows her to bring things back to life. The dominant and insane Elises got a kick out of resurrecting Sumeragi's researchers as mindless zombies. In combat they move through elongating arms and their choice of attack is throwing kunai which are actually dead snakes in which they resurrect to sic on foes. Their Limit Break is, if you haven't guessed it, the ability to bring the other Elise back to life if given a short amount of time. It's said the crazed Elise has a stronger grasp on such abilities.
Elise and Dom!Elise: “Life, return to life! Break the cycle and return this soul from nether coils! Resurrection!”
Insane!Elise: “Die die die die DIE DIE die die die die die DIE Die die DIE die die! ReSURrexIOnnN!”
    • The original Elise was glad to have been finally put down by GV, but her revival in the Pantheon means she has to live with this life for the rest of her days. Nova somehow being able to order around her other personalities means she'll have no shortage of terrible things to do. You can tell she (all three of them) doesn't like Merak. If it's any consolation Nova does feel sorry for her and felt that what she went through was unnecessary and could of offered her a more glamorous lifenote . In addition her personalities do care for Elise outside of assistance and self-preservation.
    • ()
    • Dom!Elise: "It doesn't matter how many times you beat me: I'll come back! As long as is darkness that throbs deep within my heart isn't gone... I'll revive again and again... That's my power!"
  • Viper only:
    • Not all Adepts are proud of getting their powers. Viper is proof of that. Anger issues aside, he's actually a really pessimistic and bitter person when you get down to it and partially became that way due to the discrimination attributed to him. He was scouted by Nova and after a crushing defeat he initially refused but came around after being enamored by the singing of the Muse.
    • Fitting that the guy with an explosive anger has the Explosion Septima, which does exactly what you think it does. Fire is his calling, commonly in the form of thermal energy shaped into balls of flames from his waist mounted guns, but he can do a lot more with it. He has been known to create pillars of flames to corner his enemies and ride off of heated air to add to his already incredible agility. For his Limit Break he engulfs himself in the firewalls to become as sort of miniature sun for an onslaught of projectiles.
Viper: “Rays of searing heat! The sun returns all to ash beneath its wrathful gaze! Refulgence!”
    • His attraction to Joule was what set him off when GV rescued her from Sumeragi. The news of her old body is dead and a whole different person now is what keeps Viper going when it comes to working for Nova. Now, you may think there might be some... let's just say interesting Subtext when it comes to his infatuation for Joule but we don't recommend bringing it up to his face.
    • Hot temper. Red hair. Someone you definately you don't want to tick off. Gibril of the Seven is basically Viper's Distaff Counterpart, just substitute the allegiances and powers and you got a nigh-perfect match. And hilariously enough she's within his strike zone, though GV seems to be her target due to killing her, ticking off Viper even more.
Gibril: "Look. u can either take this yeast, or im calling the police"
    Viper: "im goin WEAST."
Asroc: "nah dont call the police i got a warrant"
    • ()
    • “The fires of Hell feel lukewarm compared to the heat of my flames now…”
  • Stratos only:
    • Little remains of the well-known and handsome young man Stratos was, however unknown that life may be. Experimentation that helped further knowledge on Adepts left him a ravenous animal who knows only to consume. He's pretty much the textbook example to the horrible things Sumeragi is willing to do, and a warning to those who do not want to end up like him.
    • Barely able to be contained by his Glaive and an experimental drug is Septima of the Fly, the ability to transform himself and manipulate fly-like particles that can consume all manner of matter. When Weaponized, he can use his mantles to transform into giant mouths and jaws and produce eggs that give rise to large insects. There is no friend or foe with Stratos. Only hunger and the next morsel in his sight. Stratos' Limit Break comprises of him using the mantles to gather as much flies to grow as much as they can. If big enough they will soon come down and crush whoever came to face Stratos, eating them alive.
Stratos: “Like a dire swarm echo loathsome chewing sounds! A hunger without end! Nemesis Fang!”
    • ()
    • "That stench on you... It's exquisite. My stomach has been rumbling for so long... It's driving me crazy... I can't stand it..."

To mention Amazing Technicolor Wildlife again, I did suggest the Viva Piñata cast for it. The game is set in an island full of colorful animals and this is just a sample of what to expect. Alongside that, in the games "each species has three colour variants obtainable by feeding them specific items".

Do Piñatas count as animals?

There should be a Piñata trope but it doesn't look like there is

@faso: To be clear, they're pinatas based off of various animals. The series does Exaggerate Amazing Technicolor Wildlife from what I'm reading, though I've mainly saw the series as about colorful wildlife that happens to be specific types of pinatas.

@someguy: I've been noticing that you've been repeatedly posting that same profile the last few times without any significant changes. It doesn't help that I'm not seeing questions asked related to certain aspects of the character to ensure more substantial text gets added.

[up][up] Yeah like, don't expect suggestion to magically appear after the third or fourth posts.

A profile is more or less done when there are around at least 10 flavour texts. At least for me.

@r-lock256 The reason why you haven't noticed too many changes is because I've been revising the previous page, then copying it onto a new post (which makes the changes look more minimal than they are)
