Screw this deliberate double-post. I'm doing it. Just this once.

Now that I'm reworking Golbez, I want to ask your opinions on this.

Given other Darth Vader Clones in the Pantheon, what would Golbez think about the following?

  • Toy!Emperor Zurg
  • Hakumen
  • The Black Knight (FE Tellius)
  • Colonel Mael Radec
  • Solidus Snake
  • Alarak
  • Gabriel Reyes/Reaper
  • Specter Knight
  • Locus
  • Darkstar
  • Lord Dominator

Remember, I never saw the other Nier story. What else can be added here?

Nier, Divine Herald of Save Data Deletion (Papa/Brother Nier, Replicant Nier, Twattycake, Defender of the Innocent)
Left: Father Nier, Right: Brother Nier
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A Lunar Tear flower
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good, or at least they try to be
  • Theme Song: Yonah
  • Portfolio: Will Kill Any Shade Just For Existing, Dark-based Magic, Multi-Melee Master, Chronic Hero Syndrome, Declaration of Protection, Destructive Saviour, Empowered Badass Normal, Goes Without A Plan And Makes One Up On The Spot, Those Who Care Not For The Consequences Of Their Actions, Held Back By Nothing (Except Sidequests), Born At September 11, Bad Powers, Good People, Super Drowning Skills, Actions Led To The Extinction Of The Human Race, Retconned From Existence
  • Domain: War, Destruction, Rage, Good
  • Herald: Grimoire Weiss
  • High Priest: The Fallen Child in the Genocide Path
  • Allies: 2B
    • Father Nier: Guts
    • Brother Nier:
  • Enemies: Shades, any form of The Heartless (like Mr. Scratch), and any of its leaders (like Master Xehanort)
  • Opposes: Caim and Angelus (for screwing with his world), 9S
  • Opposed by: Geralt of Rivia
  • Conflicting Opinion: Yu Narukami, Ryotaro Dojima
  • In video games, the best thing about them is that you can do whatever you want. Take Your Time, get Sidetracked by the Gold Saucer, level grind, and indulge in Video Game Cruelty Potential (and wait out your punishment before doing it all over again). After all, it's nothing a little Save Scumming can't fix, right? And then there are the games that threaten to take that away, too.
    • Nier himself isn't someone who enforces this, but rather is a "victim" of this, yet his end was so It Was His Sled iconic that the Court decided to ascend Nier for Deletion as Punishment. But how do you bring back someone who was Ret Gone? Well, that's because right before the deletion, they turned that "deletion" into a "file move", thus still removing Nier and everything about him from his world as they brought his "data" into the Pantheon and reconstructed him.
    • That said, the deities at work on bringing Nier got things mixed up so that they ended up bringing in two Niers; one is a young adult, and one is middle-aged. As it was too late to rectify this issue, and because the retrieval teams technically both brought the "correct" Nier, it was decided that they both stay. After filling them in on what the Pantheon is all about.
      • That said, by Word of God, the younger Nier is the "canonical" one because he'd be the type to sacrifice himself to save Kainé, the woman he loves, whereas the older Nier would be more likely to Mercy Kill her so he can be there for Yonah. But their ascension has already been done, so they both stay, and as a result of History Repeats, both of them are "canon" anyway.
    • As for what is to be told about their worlds; they decided to relay the following (since some might tell them anyway out of spite): Nier's actions basically doomed the entire human race in their world to extinction. "Thankfully", there were still remnants on the moon that—millennia later—would eventually direct androids—such as 2B—to reclaim the planet from machines led by aliens (hey, millennia have passed; a lot can happen in that time). Although that turned out to be a farce perpetuated by YoRHa. The lie the Court did tell though was Yonah's (and Kainé's) fate. Rather than tell them she dies anyway to the Black Scrawl in a few years, they were instead told that she lived a fulfilling life until old age eventually claimed her.
    • As for why Yonah and their friends could not be brought here, the Court says that that was the price of sacrificing their existence; the price cannot be rendered moot. Grimoire Weiss though was fair game since he did also sacrifice himself in the final battle and is being ascended soon. For the time being, they have to settle with simple swords (or lances).
  • Applies to either Nier:
    • Being from a world cursed with Endless Daytime, his first witnessing of night in the Pantheon left him in absolute awe, wishing that Yonah was here to see it.
    • Thanks to the knowledge of his world's past, he greatly despises Caim and Angelus because their coming to their world led to its inevitable end. Caim on the other hand wants his weapons back as some of Nier's findings were originally his.
    • While a good man who does good whenever he can, Nier's refusal to think about his actions tend to have some horrifying consequences. What he sees as monsters he refuses to see as possibly more than that. As such, he's often forced to stand down by deities with more restraint more times than either would like.
      • On the plus side, though, he's willing to do even the most meager of tasks just for the sake of helping others.
    • There are those who use Nier as an example of why you need to have perspective if you wish to be a hero, citing his ignorance resulting in being seen as a Complete Monster to the Shades as he even slaughtered their "children" as a prime reason.
    • -Should I put in a Matt Hardy joke here?-
    • Somehow, he can even drift with a giant boar! It needs to be seen to be believed.
    • Thanks to a certain old man, Nier is an exceptional fisherman, able to pull out all sorts of aquatic life, including sharks and ancient fish. Now in the Pantheon, this sometimes also includes the aquatic monsters the Monster Hunters hunt.
    • Has experience with having to face a ridiculous number of projectiles, though his weapons can harmlessly block them.
    • Drowns in any water deeper than his ankles. Though he'll just lose a bit of health (unless in a safe haven) and wash up somewhere nearby for their troubles. The reason why is because he never knew how to swim, since he was forbidden from coming into contact with the precious water resources.
    • G Given what happened to humanity in their worlds, Berserker!Iji is reminded all too well of her own lack of thinking that also doomed hers. The worse part is that while Nier was doing it all for the sake of Yonah (with an added racism against Shades), she had "merely" sunk too deep in her rage against the invading aliens that she lost sight of her original objective; to get the invading aliens to leave Earth/Origin. By killing General Tor, the only one willing to listen (after taking a beating), the Komato responded with a full Alpha Strike.
  • Given the very excessive measures Nier has done to rescue his sister (for Brother Nier)/daughter (for Father Nier), Yu and Ryotaro (who have similar family dynamics with Nanako, even though Yu is actually her cousin rather than her brother) are very disturbed by this and wonder what they would've done had they been in Nier's position. Would they have not cared about the human race all just to save her? In hindsight, of course they wouldn't (and would live with their consequences), but otherwise…
  • Heard of what had happened to Emil through 2B and 9S (that he's all right, fought a war with aliens, became a merchant, and so on), and is pissed with the latter since the Scanner android stole from his house and later fought him.
  • Exclusive to "Father" Nier:
    • Word of Nier eventually reached Geralt as comparisons were drawn between him and the "newcomer"; both were white-haired swordsmen who are also fathers and use magic on the side. The differences became apparent when the two finally met though in a bar; Geralt's magic is his own whereas Nier uses Grimoire Weiss, he'll hold no comment over Yonah, Nier still goes out of his way to help the common folk while Geralt has long since given up on that (though he will help if he gets roped into it or if his loved ones are in danger), and there's also the "little" issue of Nier refusing to think things through when it comes to killing monsters, like if it's completely ambivalent, or even innocent, while Geralt isn't nearly as ignorant especially since Nier's actions brought about the extinction of the human race. The last bit triggered something fierce and it resulted in a swordfight Bar Brawl. They've been on bitter terms ever since.
  • Exclusive to "Brother" Nier:

Bringing back a pair I've put in the back burner...

Is Mysterious Past taken? If not can I give it to Wes? He makes one hell of introduction on his former teams base, but we don’t know why he turned on them or even his motives. We only know that he was in a gang of Pokemon thieves and something made him turn on them. If not then how about Never Trust a Trailer, because he was shown to be a Villain Protagonist, when he’s more of an anti-hero. I'd like a response please.

[tup] I'm all for either trope for Wes, though I'm more inclined to the latter.

By the way, I think that, after seeing the events of the entire game, just like with my eventual rework of Golbez, Kuja deserves to go to the Ministry of Atonement as well, allegiance to Lord Chaos be damned.

It will probably involve Zidane saving him again just like in the post-Final Boss scene near the end.

Do you guys approve or not?

Additionally, I've been looking back at my current Cid rework, and I've been wondering. Is six Cids still too many Cids? Would it be best to just reduce the deities to Pollendina and Highwind instead, being Playable Characters and all?

@RJ Distrusts egyptians deities, especially those tied with riddles, as once a dog cursed his tail so it would turn into a snake and he had to go through a series of trials to prevent it from happening. While at first he didn't believe on it, his tail did indeed transform into a snake later

Considering he is very gunho about Rhinocs, i bet he is going to shoot anything that resembles one, Rhydon included.

Should we create a list of guidelines on what is not allowed to be put in the Pantheon. The veto against of the War of Light idea because everyone decided they hated adaption storylines was sudden for me (I worked hard on that story) and now with the discontinuity of the Great Upheaval, I think something like a set of guidelines can brief anyone of what is and what isn’t allowed is going to lessen a lot of pains in the future

Lennie Briscoe, Divine Speaker of Evil Lawyer Jokes
  • Theme Song: The Law and Order Theme
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: His badge
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Master of the Quip to Black, Cool Old Guy, The Alcoholic, Papa Wolf, Sherlock Scan, Known Only by Their Nickname, ultimately The Character Died with Him
  • Domains: Law, Good
  • Allies: Phoenix Wright, Judge Dredd, Gil Grissom, Horatio Caine, Christy and Bonnie Plunckett
  • Enemies: Manfred von Karma
  • Headbutting Heroes with: John Luther, Gene Hubt
  • The folks over at the world of Law & Order were one of the earliest entries into the Pantheon. Lennie and Jack Mc Coy, together with Phoenix Wright helped make up the court system in the House of Justice. Despite their influence, their clergy did not have nearly as much influence as the Crusading Lawyer did. As the Pantheon grew, their presence continued their retreat until the two simply disappeared. Phoenix Wright hoped that he could bring them back someday. Years later he got his chance. Dr. Grissom and detective Caine both agreed to make their case for the man's return. When the Court of the Gods appeared nonplussed at bringing him back, Lennie made a Lawyer joke that sent the entire courtroom bursting with laughter. In fact, it was good enough for the House of Quirks to open up a spot for him in the Pantheon. Thus the detective was able to regain his divinity.
    • Calls Phoenix Wright "the only lawyer worth a damn." Despite his animosity towards defense attorneys, Briscoe knows that Wright only defends those who are truly innocent unless threatened. His attitude has changed somewhat with the addition of more good-aligned lawyers.
    • It was inevitable that he would butt heads with Manfred von Karma. What makes things more infuriating to him is that the Amoral Attorney is a prosecutor who would stop at nothing to send his defendant in jail, even if they were truly innocent. Lennie only has unkind words to someone who bends the law just to keep his perfect record.
    • Was met with Horatio Caine, a follower of his when Briscoe held the title for Quip to Black. Before the Miami man popularized the quirk, it was the New Yorker that started the trend for others to follow. Nevertheless, he felt that the redhead was a worthy successor for the title and thanked the fellow detective in bringing him back.
    • Judge Dredd did a good job hiding his pleasure in Briscoe's return. He felt Briscoe was one of his hardest working officers, seeing too it that criminals aren't just captured but also properly indicted, charged and sentenced.
    • Things were more rocky when he tried to work with John Luther. The detective has a tendency of using more questionable methods to get his man. This is especially difficult given how often villainous lawyers are able to throw out cases due to this. Lennie has always been a By-the-Book Cop and his coozy relationship with the lines of Rosco disturbs him, even if they make a pretty good team. There is speculation that the two may well be in the same universe since Luther knows about JOhn Munch. Neither detective is interested in delving deeper.
    • Is less cozy with the likes of Gene Hunt than he used to. In the beginning, they would have probably enjoyed exchanging jokes at the expense of Italians and Latinos. Briscoe has since moved away from such jokes.
  • Is never far away without his trusty revolver, even those those weapons have been out of service of the police force for decades. Coincidentally, there isn't a deity based on that sort of weapon. He hopes to find someone worthy of the name.
  • Had a rather destructive bout of alcoholism that led to the death of a loved one. This convinced him to go to AA. In the Pantheon, those services are led by the Pluncketts. They may not be the most stable of families, but both are committed to help the detective get out of his funk for as long as it takes.
  • Unfortunately, his avatar died of cancer, and he would fall along with him. The Pantheon made a heartwarming tribute to his permanent stay. While he is sad to see his original show gone, he is satsfied with the longeviety of its original successor.

Hiei, God of Aloof Allies
  • Theme Song: Hiei's theme.
  • Intermediate
  • Symbol: His bandaged arm
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil with Neutral tendencies
  • Portfolios: Ascended Extra Breakout Character Noble Demon, Starter Villain, Pint-Sized Powerhouse, Blood Knight, Smug Super, Loner-Turned-Friend, The Comically Serious, Deadpan Snarker, Extra Eyes, Fragile Speedster, The Quiet One, Easily Forgiven
  • Domains: Evil, Community, Darkness
  • Allies: Kuruma, Vegeta, Ikki Phoenix, Shadow the Hedgehog, Lulu, Ikaruga, HK-47 (nominally)
  • Rivals: Raditz
  • Enemies: Toguro
  • Worthy Opponent: Yusuke Urameshi
  • Yusuke was getting ready to take on Toguro after the later's recent ascension. He was training alongside Kuruma when he heard someone stating he should be training with someone who never lost in the Dark Tournament. Yusuke immediately recognized the snark from Hiei, a Noble Demon who decided to help him out after a brief fight. Hiei dismissed his teammate with a huff. Kurama on the other hand gave his best friend a tight handshake of appreciation. Out of all the members of Yusuke's group, Kuruma has always been his favorite. With the three of them ascending, they hope it would only be a matter of time before Kuwabara arrives as well.
    • Hiei never did get to fight Toguro before his death, but he now hopes to change that. Confident in his chances, he confronted the mass of muscle to a duel. Toguro proved to be stronger than he could have been prepared for. Hiei was forced to retreat, but he hopes to use that previous knowledge to defeat him in their next encounter.
  • He is the resident Token Evil Teammate that is often added to a squad to spice up the dynamic. As such, Hiei holds a nominal amount of respect to HK-47, the patron saint of such people. The feeling is mutual, as a meatbag is still a meatbag even with a demon sealed within him.
  • With their hair and attitude regarding the protagonists, one would easily mistaken Hiei as Vegeta's son. Competing egos aside, the two actually enjoy the other's company. Notably, they love to rib off how naive their allies can be (especially Yusuke and Goku respectively).
    • As a Starter Villain, he does have some connection with Vegeta's former teammate Raditz. Yet Hiei only hung around the saiyan for convenience: he believes Raditz is a complete loser for failing to conquer the planet he was assigned. That has basically put the two at crosshairs towards each other.
  • Ikki paid him a visit, mainly to complain about The Power of Friendship that Seiya likes to talk about. Turns out they have a lot in common, mainly because of their Anti-Hero status compared to the rest of the groups. It wasn't long before others of their kind use the temple as a way to get some alone time.
  • Tired of dealing with Sonic all the time, Shadow goes to his temple once in a while for some solitude. He has a secret liking to Hiei as not everyone in the Pantheon is fond of the dark hedgehog. Hiei's popularity over the years gives him hope that he too can get universal admiration.
  • With his ascension, Ikaruga finally has someone where she can ferry her followers who are not women. There are many dark-haired women who fit Hiei's personality, but there has been plenty of men who were waiting for a patron. She is now at peace with someone worthy of that title.
  • A lot of people criticize Lulu for her excessive amount of belts. To Hiei, her abilities are a lifesaver. His assortment of belts keeps the Dragon of the Darkness Flame sealed within him. With out them, the entity would surely devour him. That and the fact that she too is an aloof lady has earned her his respect.
  • If Hiei has any blind spot regarding his aloof nature, it is with his twin sister Yukina who he has been keeping things secret for both of their sakes. While she is a prime target for ransom, doing so would probably be a terrible move, only ensuring that Hiei would make your imminent death agonizing.
