Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    open/close all folders

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • Gods can't be followers or high priests for obvious reasons.
  • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
  • No hype profiles, please.
    • So you ask, what exactly is 'hype profile'? It is a profile based on ongoing events that hasn't been around very long, but generates a lot of hype, possibly because of elements such as Wham Episode or Memetic Mutation or Large Ham or overall 'OMGAWESOME!!!' They're all not bad tropes, but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time). You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but don't make the profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
  • DO. NOT. put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, don't do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, do yourself a favor and delete it from that main page. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good & Evil Colors.
  • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
    • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
    • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
    • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
    • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to the Treasures or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Treasures or Dominions.
  • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
  • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
  • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you're only given three chances on such. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
  • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what's currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction.
  • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:
  • Please use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, or something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted.
  • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this god has spots in other houses as well.
  • When writing facts/trivia about gods, try not to contradict what has already been written elsewhere.
  • When writing down the name of a Theme Song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name.
  • When adding an image for your God, make sure that it is not too big unless you wish to write more about the god you have chosen.
  • If you feel the need to remove a god for some reason and replace him/her with another, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. If you're lucky (and they're from the same franchise), maybe both of them can share the title "Gods of (Insert Trope Here)".
  • Certain tropes can have more than one God. It is not advisable, but it is not forbidden. Just ensure that this second God will bring in new flavor of the trope. If you have doubts on how to bring the other flavors, consult the Trope Pantheon Discussion forum. Case in point: In the original Greek Mythology (and later Roman Mythology), both Ares/Mars and Athena/Minerva share the title of 'God/Goddess of War', and even then, they differ in flavor: Ares is about brutal warfare, Athena is about war strategies and finesse, while Mars took up some of Athena's elements that he kinda differs out than Ares. If the original myth can do this, why the hell not for the Pantheon?
  • Be creative! If you need some time to work out your potential deity's profile, use the Pending Gods or Pending Gods 2 page to get help. Incomplete and/or low-quality entries are more likely to get deleted or replaced.
  • When writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. See also the Rules section. Especially the 1st bullet point.
  • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name.
  • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it's well advised not to abuse them. Aside from introducing too many niche concepts, there are still chances for new tropes related to your chosen deity's title to be launched through YKTTW...
    • Additionally however, the only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. IE: Their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they're closely associated with In-Universe, or both (example: Gangplank and his oranges).
  • Maximum number of tropes what a god should have is three, but don't try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused.
  • Some series will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps, as well. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it's because they're a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they're connected to another deity in their respective canon.
  • As far as deities from actual mythologies (Greco-Roman, Norse, Japanese, etc.) are concerned, try not to replicate the default myths about their characters and use a fictional counterpart instead. In other words, if you want to use the Greek/Roman god Ares/Mars, you can't add him as the "God of War", but you can use him as part of another trope as long as it's a different version of him. For example:
    • Zeus, while having elements of his persona from Classical Mythology, draws more from his portrayal in the God of War Series.
    • Thor and Loki's Pantheon portrayals are influenced heavily by their appearances in their Marvel Comics series.
    • Amaterasu is a woman in her Japanese mythology portrayal, but her Pantheon counterpart is the dog goddess from Ōkami.
  • Don't depend too much on the hype/meme train, don't just jump onto that train willy-nilly in order to put on some events or entry in the Pantheon. It might not last very long or represent the trope best. This is Trope Pantheons, not Trope Hype Train!
  • Unless the character proposed is specifically from the Abridged version, the character should represent the tropes in their canon selves. If they also happen to possess the trait of the Abridged self, good! But otherwise, get the abridged stuff onto just the flavor texts.
  • To prevent any surprising need to rework profiles due to new development, please restrain from ascending gods from a series before the thing is either released or for longer-running series, there is a good enough of a break from story. This also applies to already existing series if there is a new thing coming out.
  • Please be sure to ask in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you don't waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
    • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else.
  • It is much more recommended to word the title like "God of X" instead of "The God that Xs". This will give off the vibe the God actually ruled over that trope instead of just 'did X', giving more credentials to how it's the best example of the trope.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Deity Template
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Potential House:
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity. This doesn't always have to be a representation of power, but it can also represent influence in the Pantheon.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Song that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D.
  • Gender: For Pokémon deities only. Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
  • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
  • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies.
  • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals.
  • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes.
  • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that have various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.) other than allies, rivals, or enemies.
  • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Pokémon.
  • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
  • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or find pitiable.
  • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by, regardless of alignment.
  • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.

@ Whirl: OK

Is it OK for me to add Merged Zamasu to Legendary Foes? After a year and a half, interactions with other gods and his reputation has shown him to be one of most antagonistic gods in the pantheon

You know, I think I realized why I dislike the Main House, it's not really a House that House people, but more like Database on the big Wigs on the Pantheon. Atleast how it is now. Honestly, if it was more structure like that, I be OK with it.

@Reason Trio: Just to let you know, I have images for the three, but the image uploader is still unavailable. Add something more about the Demi-Fiend, perhaps? How he, Chiaki, and Isamu used to be friends?

@Sae: What would her opinion be on Carmelita Fox and her…erm, relationship with Sly Cooper? On a minor note, this ascension would mean that she can understand Morgana now.

Well, i think Deathwing and Ragnaros could be added there since they also get mentioned a lot

Also, returning to Brigitte. I forgot any suggestion that's been made

  • Domains: Shields, Armor, Companions, Heroism, Healing
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: TBD
  • The youngest daughter of the Lindholm family, Brigitte was born into a world of heroes and undoubtably so grew to worship them. Her father Torbjörn was a mechanic and she intended to follow of his footsteps but hearing the tales of her godfather Reinhardt about his adventures, she decided to become his squire and learn from him, while also keeping him safe from his own tendency to never stop fighting. Brigitte clearly takes much after these two and so decided to tackle the battlefield with her engineering knowledge as well as her combat experience she took from Reinhardt, all the while donning a suit of armor she herself built.
  • There was a debate between Reinhardt and Torbjörn as to who would have Brigitte as their herald. That ended when Brigitte herself became a deity, which worried the two but quickly went to congratulate her for her ascension. One could argue that, however you interpret Reinhardt and Torbjörn's interactions, it would look like Brigitte Has Two Daddies

Daji, Goddess of Sadistic Torture (Su Da Ji, The Thousand-Year-Old Vixen, Millennium Fox, The Nine-Tailed Fox, Dakki)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_skinart_daji_default.jpg
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: The Paolao
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Huli jing, Corrupting Emepror Zhou, Really Likes Torturing People, Killed the Real Daji for Her Guise, The Hedonist, Shapeshifting/Demonic Possession (or both)
  • Domains: Foxes, Torture, Revenge, Evil
  • Allies: SCP-953, Desaad
  • Enemies: Ahri, Dougen
  • Heralds: Pipa Jing and Jiutou Zhiji Jing
  • Daji was known as the favourite consort of Emperor Zhou of Shang. Well, the human named that. However, the one more well known by that name is the thousand-year-old huli jing who was tasked by goddess Nuwa to ruin Emepror Zhou's life and bring his rule to end for his lust forwards her. She did it by killing and possessing the real Daji and playing her role as Zhou's concubine to corrupt him while enjoying the privileges to appeal her sadistic desires and curiosity.
  • Daji thrives on torturing people. Partly out of pure sadism and partly because she is interested on figuring things out. She would have people dissected or something similar just because she is intrigued how humans work. She also designed and invented multiple torture methods, such as the Paolao, a bronze cylinder covered in oil, heated and placed over charcoal with the subject made to walk on it until they would slip and fall down, causing them to burn to dead. Other inventions of hers includes a pit full of spiders and snakes, and an elaborate set-up to get couples drunk and fed, after which selected few would be killed and turn into food for Daji to enjoy.
  • One met up with SCP-953, another evil fox spirit. At first things went well, but then ironically, SCP-953 mistakenly called Daji a kuhimo, which lead Daji to rant about the fact that she is huli jing and the difference between them and other fox spirits, like how they are both good and evil and they mainly need masculine energy to survive (though they also eat human meat). But then she admitted that the whole rant was just a joke even if she was saying the truth, so all's cool.
  • Her temple is less of a temple and more of a large Chinese-styled palace like the ones she used to live. It is notably almost always under construction, mainly the outside areas, as she always has new ideas for torture methods.
  • Her fate in the mortal realm is bit of a mystery. Some say that she was exorcised by Jiang Ziya and eventually died, possibly as a punishment by Nuwa. Some say that she managed to escape her fate during the fall of Shang dynasty. Some say that she was exorcised but survived, leading her to appear in history couple of times before her demise under the identity of Tamamo-no-Mae.
  • One time, Dougen approached her in an attempt to in his own words "reinvigorate" Orochi. Turns out that she has a rather liking for the giant snake and started helping him. However, she soon discovered that the Orochi he was talking about was completely different from the one she was familiar with, and lashed out at him. He ultimately escaped scot free, but Daji has plans to turn him into cinder inside a giant toaster.
    • On similar note, she doesn't have any plans to affiliate herself with Leopold Goenitz and his associated as she sees him Orochi to be some tree-loving hippie and not nearly as fun as Orochi should be.
  • We would say she is allies with Desaad, but in reality she is trying to stroke his ego to see if he really could try to usurp Darkseid or if he would be gone for good if he did try something truly outlandish. The reason why seems to be unknown, but it might be that she wants to get her hands on the Torture Technician position as well.

@ Nightelf: Sandy could be friends with Haruto Tsukishiro, who can visit people in their dreams and has fought nightmares in his travels. Haruto could wonder if Sandy has any relationship with Eve, much like SCP-990 was suspected of being the god she wants to take revenge on. Lewis would stay away from Harbinger, who has turned on its creators and was responsible for multiple genocides across galactic history. He wouldn't be too fond of Megatron and Makuta Teridax either. Also, remove the Homer Simpson and Iron Man memes from Lewis' profile. The Pantheon discourages including memes on profiles because they get old quickly.

@ M1gami: [tup]for Sae, who could be friends with Commissioner Gordon and have a working relationship with Batman. At first, she would resent the need of a vigilante to keep order in Gotham, but considering this is Gotham we're talking about, she could tolerate his presence for the time being.

@ Fasoman: Brigitte could be friends with fellow shielders Captain America and Link and have a lighthearted discussion with them about who has the better shield.

@ Clovis: Accuser of the Brethren could be assigned to more classical examples that helped define the trope or gave it a redefining and/or nuanced portrayal, such as the Bible or films from the West. Since Futurama is about making fun of sci-fi, you could give Future Foil to Lars, but you'd have to make his relationship with Fry a defining factor.

Serena and Dan were supposed to ascend yesterday, but I didn't get an answer. Anything else I should add?
Serena Celia van der Woodsen, Goddess of Overly Sophisticated Names (S, Queen, Princess, It Girl)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/serena_van_der_woodsen.jpg
  • Quasideity
  • Potential/New House: Naming Convention
  • Ascending on: June 28
  • [tup]s: (Nightelf 37, RJ-19-CLOVIS-93, Crownless Mimic)
  • Symbol: Anyone of her dresses next to anyone of her cellphones (She's rich)
  • Theme Song: "Gossip Girl Theme Song"
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (borders into Stupid Good at times)
  • Portfolio: Constantly Gets into Trouble, Progresive Stupidity, Name Befitting of One Born into Wealth, Extreme Beauty, Spoiled Sweet At Times, In Love with Love, Good Bad Girl, Horrible Judge of Character, The Fashionista, Hard-Drinking Party Girl, Bad Luck in Romance
  • Domain: Love, Popularity, Wealth, Beauty
  • Herald: Eric van der Woodsen
  • Allies: Princess Zelda, Liz Lemon, Celestia Ralgris, Fuuka Akitsuki, Tohka Yatogami, Julis Riessfeld, Honoka Mitsui, Hal Jordan, Lili
  • Enemies: Mr. Burns, Wario, Mr. Krabs, the Corpus, the House of Tainted Love
  • Conflicting Opinion: The Ancestor
  • Known as the "it girl" of the Upper East Side, Serena van der Woodsen practically defined teenage popularity in her homeworld. Born to the van der Woodsen family, Serena embodied every negative stereotype associated with her upbringing: she always wore trendy clothes, always attentended to wild parties and slept around with any men she came across. Her life changed when one of her teenage escapades resulted in the death of a man she had previously slept with. Feeling guilty, Serena left New York City for boarding school and didn't return until she found out her brother had attempted suicide. Since then, Serena has made a sincere, albeit clumsy, effort to improve herself, but she is known to fall back on old habit once in a while.
  • Her backstory earned her the sympathy of Celestia Ralgris, who felt guilty that her efforts to help Lux Arcadia result in his and family's exile. Because of her stronger moral compass, Celestia has agreed to keep Serena's more negative traits in check. Serena has also taken a liking to Fuuka Akitsuki because of her free spirit and singing ability. All three girls offer each other advice on how to improve their relationships with their respective boyfriends, but because Serena is so naive at times, Celes and Fuuka think Serena should be treated with kid gloves.
  • Since they have the same attitude towards money, a friendship with Lili was inevitable. Despite being a fighter, Lili was actually the more restrained of the two, which motivated Serena to get Lili to unwind a little bit and try to have more fun. The two girls enjoy going to parties, concerts, auctions and what have you. All these crazy activities have earned some unwanted attention from thugs looking for some easy money, but luckily, Lili has been able to defend Serena.
  • Serena's homeworld is relatively mundane by Pantheon's standards, so she was obviously surprised to learn of the existence of magic and those who use it for good or bad. Fortunately, she has made friends with the magical community, such as Tohka Yatogami, Julis Riessfeld and Honoka Mitsui. Serena sees much of her friend Blair in Julis, respecting her strength of will and intention to save her homeland from an evil corporation. At the same time, Serena has compared Tohka and Honoka to her friend Jenny, at least when she was first introduced to the Upper East Side. To make a long story short, Jenny's sudden increase in popularity caused her to alienate some of her friends and family, so Serena has taken steps to ensure the power and influence in the Pantheon doesn't affect Tohka and Honoka the same way.
  • Hal Jordan once confused Serena with Carol Ferris because of their physical appearance. Once the mistake got cleared up, Hal left Serena to her devices but he did observe she could be worthy for a Star Sapphire ring, for better or worse. Until he can find a way to ascend Carol, however, he has decided to keep Serena safe.
  • As previously stated, Serena is not the smartest person in the Pantheon, especially in regards to money and romance. She never had to work even a day in her life and always had everything handed to her on a silver platter. Because the Pantheon is full of people who would take advantage of her, more sensible people like Princess Zelda and Liz Lemon have to constantly supervise her monetary activities to ensure she doesn't make a bad investment.
  • Despite this behavior, Serena was a Nice Girl at the core. In regards to her approach to sex, it was less than Serena slept around for fun and more that she fell in love too easily. Unfortunately, this made Serena into a Horrible Judge of Character, as she has been duped by her longtime love interest Dan, not to mention she had affairs with two teachers, her best friend's boyfriend, and an ex-con, two con artists and a married man. Even Dan, the so-called good guy, was revealed to be the anonymous blogger Gossip Girl, therefore fitting Serena's interest in bad boys. Needless to say, Serena's case is a love therapist's dream come true and the Nurturers of the House of Love have agreed to keep tabs on Serena to make sure she doesn't screw up her marriage with Dan.
  • Hates Mr. Burns and Wario for being greedy jackasses obsessed with money, exactly the kind of person she doesn't want to become. Not fond of Mr. Krabs either when she became aware of his less-than-ethical practices. Serena was absolutely horrified to learn about the Corpus, an interstellar faction who wage war across the Sol system and even worships the very concept of profit. She has donated massive amounts of money to the Grand United Alliance of Good to stop them. At the same time, she doesn't know what to make of the Ancestor. At first, she was appalled that his ignorance, caused by his aristocratic status led to untold destruction in his world and every monster that dwells in his Estate was his doing, but in fairness he is trying to control the damage. Even so, Serena keeps her distance from him.
  • Because of her incredible beauty, Serena has attracted a lot of potential suitors in the Pantheon. Predictably, she has turned them all of down because she is already married, but some people won't take "no" for an answer, especially the House of Tainted Love, giving Serena a good reason to stay away from that House.

  • Theme Song: "Gossip Girl Theme Song"
  • Alignment: True Neutral (with shades of Good)
  • Portfolio: Character Blog, Male with a Female Internet Account, Desire for Popularity, Romanticized Stalking, Getting Away with His Misdeeds and Marrying the Girl He was Stalking, Social Climber
  • Dominions: Love, Manipulation, Internet
  • Herald: Jenny Humphrey (his sister)
  • Allies: Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Shido Itsuka, Jean-Luc Picard
  • Enemies: The Illusive Man, Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine, Arcturus Mengsk, Sombra
  • Complicated Relationship: The House of Love
  • Rival: Liara T'Soni
  • Dan had only one goal in life: to marry the girl he loved, Serena van der Woodsen. There was one major obstacle: their social standings. Serena was born into wealth and had everything handed to her in a silver platter, while Dan had a modest upbringing. To earn Serena's affections, Dan created the "Gossip Girl" website, dedicated to learn all the dirty little secrets of the rich and privileged in the Upper East Side. In his Gossip Girl identity, Dan caused a lot of trouble for a lot of people, breaking many friendships in the process. Against all logic and reason, Serena thought Dan's actions were the most romantic thing ever and agreed to marry him.
  • Despite the moral ambiguity he had indulged in, Dan's skill as an observer, manipulator and writer were acknowledged by the Court of the Gods, so he was granted a place in the Pantheon and allowed to take on the Gossip Girl's identity again. Dan was also inducted into the Grand United Alliance of Good, as a member of the Intelligence Division.
    • With his ascension, every cellphone and computer in the Pantheon was instantly updated with an app that gave instant access to Gossip Girl's website, giving Dan eyes and ears over what happens across the Pantheon.
    • The amount of dirt Dan had obtained gave him some unwanted attention in the form of Liara T'Soni, secretly the new Shadow Broker, who feared what could happen if Gossip Girl's assets fell into the wrong hands. This has caused some conflict between them. Although Dan dismissed Liara's concerns, as he would never use Gossip Girl for evil purposes, he did admit he respects Liara as an information broker and uses their conflict to keep himself on his toes. On the other hand, he did run afoul of the Illusive Man and has promised to do whatever he can to stop him.
  • Because of their massive sense of empathy, Peter Parker and Shido Itsuka became friends with Dan, even after hearing of his deeds as Gossip Girl. While he did scheme and lie and spread nasty stories about a lot of people, Dan ultimately rose above all of that and grew up. Besides, what happened with Gossip Girl wasn't nearly as bad as the webware incident or the conflict with Nia Honjou. With Dan taking on the role of Gossip Girl in the Pantheon again, Shido and Peter decided to become his advisors to prevent him from crossing moral lines.
  • His actions as Gossip Girl earned him a very stern taking-to from Jean-Luc Picard, who reprimanded Dan for every screw-up he did in his quest for popularity. Having learned humility from his experiences, Dan admitted he deserved every word Jean-Luc threw at him and has asked The Good Captain to become his mentor and prevent him from falling into old habits.
  • Earned some respect from the Houses of Mind Games and Trickery because of his attitude towards the Upper East Side: he denounced the people of the Upper East Side as shallow or immoral, so he decided to create Gossip Girl as an effort to prove that a man of humble origins could be just as devious and scheming as the upper class. When he revealed himself as the biggest schemer in New York, everyone was forced to admit Dan had beat them at their own game.
  • Dan has earned some unwanted attention from Palpatine and Big Brother, who think Gossip Girl's network could be useful in increasing his presence in the Pantheon. Others, like Arcturus Mengsk, believe Gossip Girl can inspire rebellion among their subjects, so they have taken measures to destroy Gossip Girl. Needless to say, Dan has no intention of letting that happen. As an information broker, Dan became enemies with Sombra, who looked forward to hacking into Gossip Girl's network, motivating Dan to further upgrade his security measures to oppose her.
  • The members of the House of Love don't really like that Dan's quest to earn Serena's affections caused him to do some morally questionable things, such as damaging friendships, uncovering sensitive secrets and even revealing that his sister lost his virginity (ok, to be fair, his sister gave him permission to post that). Also, some suspect that his love for Serena is only motivated by her enormous wealth. Dan was offended by such statement and clarified that he really loves Serena, money or not.
  • Despite his work for the GUAG, Dan is quick to point out he is not a hero. Given his line of work, he considers himself just a guy who lets heroes stay heroes. He still spreads gossip about the Pantheon's denizens on a regular basis. Old habits die hard, apparently. The most charitable interpretation of his actions as Gossip Girl in the Pantheon is that he doesn't want others to share his burden and wants his friends to keep their consciences clean. The least charitable is that his position in the GUAG is merely a way to keep him on the straight and narrow and if he is left to his devices, his talents as Gossip Girl could be used towards achieving more negative goals.

Any suggestions and/or feedback are welcome.

Jimenez, God of Emergency Transformations (Awake Jimenez, Soil Jimenez)

His human form
Soil Jimenez
  • Theme Song: Theme of Chaos, The Tyrannical Hero
  • Lesser God (Formerly Demigod, Intermediate God as Soil Jimenez)
  • Symbol: Bugaboo's mask breaking a Demonica's mask
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil, though not as completely as he may like.
  • Portfolio: Eagleland, Mercenary, Was Once a Man, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Forsaking his humanity, Merging with Bugaboo to save both their lives, The Social Darwinist, Power Born of Madness, Choosing to stay with the demons of the Schwarzwelt, Deadpan Snarker, Half-Human Hybrid, Absurdly Sharp Claws, Playing with Fire, Chaos Tack
  • Domains: Power, Demons, Madness, Shape
  • Allies: Mem Aleph, Lucifer and the rest of the Grand United Alliance of Chaos, Albert Wesker, Alipheese Fateburn, Luka, Apollyon
  • Enemies: YHVH and the rest of the Grand United Alliance of Law, Zelenin, Flynn, Nanashi, Mamori and Mirei
  • A soldier sent to investigate the Schwarzwelt and keep it from wiping out humanity, Jimenez ran across an abused demon named Bugaboo, who he adopted. During his journey through the parallel world, Jimenez's opinion of humanity was eroded away by the sight of their sins, and he gained new appreciation for the wildness and freedom of the demons. It came to a head when he and Bugaboo were forced by the cruel Captain Jack into a twisted experiment: to save both his and Bugaboo's life, Jimenez had a comrade fuse the two of them together, and the resulting new entity quickly lost himself to his new power and fell in with the demons. Jimenez continues work with Mem Aleph to awaken the Schwarzwelt, wipe the Pantheon clean of civilization and bring a new age of Chaos.
  • Not liking to take orders more than he has to, Jimenez is a member of Lucifer's Chaos Brigade. He's nursing ambitions to ascend to Lord of Chaos status, but that's still a little beyond his reach. He hasn't given up trying to make himself strong enough to go for it, though...
  • His alliance with Wesker has turned heads, particularly as he was the subject of the sort of mad science Wesker is known for. Honestly, Jimenez couldn't care less, so long as Wesker doesn't screw with any demons. Heck, trying to uplift humanity to survive in a wild, chaotic world is a noble cause in Jimenez's eyes. To this end, he's given Wesker a sample of the Delphinus Parasite.
  • Despite his inhumanity, there's a flicker of Jimenez's old self in him: he's perfectly capable of showing kindness and camaraderie to those he deems worthy. An example of this is Luka: he admires the kid for overthrowing Ilias for the sake of monsters. While the version of him in the Pantheon has surrendered himself to his demonic instincts, an alternate version of him was convinced to follow a different path. There are those who hope to sway this Jimenez in that direction.
  • Was involved in the Ragnarok incident, as the idea of starting a Forever War was too tempting to pass up: it was he who was responsible for abducting Mamori during Mirei's rampage, as well as trying to assassinate Mirei afterwards so as to destroy any hopes of curing the Arms Virus. He only made things worse when he taunted Mirei with the GUAC's plans to have Momoka Sagara forcefully wield Mamori in service of the GUAC once Mirei was gone, in order to enrage Mirei and have her fight at full power. Needless to say, between that and his alliance with Wesker the two really don't like him all that much, while Jimenez is disgusted by their refusal to use their powers to the fullest (ie. use it to crush those weaker than themselves) because of some bullshit morals.
