Ingress

Wandering around a park filled with kids, looking oddly satisfied with whatever is on your smartphone isn't normal, but on Ingress it is.

Just got this game, chose enlightened (fuck you guys). There are 2 portals just down the road from my house (the park's sign and the train station) and it seems I chose the right faction because both those portals were already enlightened, also the land is green everywhere I've looked. How do I level up?

Keep hacking the portals and putting in resonators. And try to link to other portals whenever you're somewhere new.

Sorry for double post, I wanted to complain about an annoying thing that just happened and Comm has so much lag when typing. So I was just posting here when I got the "your portal is under attack" message. I ran up the street to the portal in question, then spent like 10 minutes standing outside in the summer sun using up my shitty lv1 xmps to try and attack it. As soon as I got the last resonator below half charge, the fucker adds like 5 more resonators to it, rendering the whole thing moot.

In general, you're unable to deal any damage to enemy portals until you're level 5 and can use level 5 bursters. Until then, best thing you can do is hack portals and deploy resonators and mods. It's straight AP you need.

This is the Ingress 2.0 that has been hinted at for a while, and it will apparently reboot the story. And there'll be an accompanying anime series, didn't see that coming.
