The human, the dreadfully racist human, seemed very upset by something, so much so that he almost ran over one of the smaller freshmen. She moved closer to those two, in case something started, she wanted to be able to stop it.
"I am nature's weapon. You are unfit to carry on your species, and I shall ensure that you do not do so!" - Charles Darwin, XCOM Sniper"Oh, howdy agin, Gaston!" Ayers stood over the crashed students. "Don't go hurtin' yaself, I wouldn't wanna lose out on a full fight witcha, now would I?" He grabbed the blind kid by the hand and forcefully lifted him to his feet. "Looks like we got another fella on disability at Beacon here! Though I figure bein' blind might be a little worse than, uh... whatsit, biplegia. We should stick together, you an' me. Name's Ayers, how ya doin', pard?"
Fucking done.
Ayers was fucking done.
He held up a hand. "Hold that thought, y'all."
He jettisoned Hrunt and Naeg, letting them crash to the ground with a CLANK. Then, ever calm, he fell in line behind Gaston. "Hey, Gaston, I figure this is part a tha reason ya got cripples at Beacon!"
He then swung a vicious headbutt at the asshole. You know, using the muscles he basically had to live off of for a month, then build Naeg with for another 4. Those ones.
Raqib quietly congratulated himself on snagging a few more potential dates in both Beryl and Ieria. Really, it was as if Beacon was his oyster. Must be the good looks and the accent. That and, looking at the few other men he had seen around so far... There was a bigot, his lackeys, that seemingly dim-witted fellow, and some odd man with mechanical arms. The fact that the women weren't running into his arms the minute he opened his mouth made him wonder if the rumours about Vale women were true. He wouldn't blame them if they were; no sense in wandering out searching for rubble to mine when you have a gold mine back home.
That said, even the older women in Vale weren't that bad. This Goodwitch woman certainly had that hot librarian look to her. As he walked towards the auditorium, stretching and taking good care to show his muscles straining against his undershirt, he wondered what she thought of student/teacher relationships.
He was, however, pulled out of his thoughts when the previously mentioned robot boy dropped his arms and headbutted the established racist. Raqib took a spot to watch this little piece of mayhem unfold.

"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValGaston was a man of strength. Now, a boot at mach 1.5 was one thing, but this headbutt? Pft.
Gaston's head reeled backward with the force of Ayer's headbutt, but then he grinned and butted him right back.
He seemed genuinely impressed at the crippled boy. "That..actually hurt me. Okay, farm boy! You've proved yourself. Now, I know you country types are, shall we say, less intelligent than us who live in the city, but you've got potential! Better than that wuss, Lefou, I dare say! So, if you want to make it big here in Vale, stick to me, Gaston Scarlett! Think about it, eh? Don't hang out with those animals and their handlers, it's bad for you."
With that, Gaston turned his back and left.
Well, well, maybe this day wasn't a complete waste.
"Huh? What? I'm listening..." Calypso said somewhat sleepily. Truth be told, she'd been on autopilot since the fight ended. She figured her day couldn't really get more exciting than it already had, as much of a shame that was, so the smartest thing to do was obviously sleepwalk her way through the introductions and go into shutdown mode once she found her dorm room. Another great part of her Faunus heritage: she could sleep while awake. Her bird-brained brethren used it to catch some zs mid-migration, she used to skip boring things she didn't like.
"Oh, it's you, uhhhhh..." she struggled, trying to remember his name. "Help me out here..."
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialAyers shook off the headbutt, shrugged, and grinned back. So that's how you do it! Everyone had a way to get on their good side, earn their respect. Looks like you just needed to push back with that guy. "Much obliged, pard! Seeya 'round!"
He moseyed on back to Hrunt and Naeg, still grinning despite the slowly growing knot on his forehead. "Now, was that so hard? I think I just earned a new friend! He ain't so bad, really, ya jus' gotta push back when he pushes you! I'll, uh, I'll talk to him at some point about the whole prejudice thing. The boy just needs time, is all!" He then stomped the fingertips of his arms, levering them up into the air and onto his waiting shoulders.
"Now, let's hit the bricks 'fore we miss the speech!"
As the students passed, they saw for the first time the majestic Beacon courtyard, and in the center, the legendary Beacon Statue.
Ans as they continued to move, more and more wondrous sights showed themselves to the students. Indeed, it was starting to sink in: They were at Beacon. They were going to be Hunters.
Now, the Initiates have reached the great amphitheatre.
Miss Glynda Goodwitch stood atop the stage, an impatient expression on her face. It seemed the Headmaster had yet to arrive....
Urujauni waited in the auditorium, one of the first to have arrived. Her father had shown her pictures before she left - he'd commanded her to completely memorize the layout in one week.
So she had, and so while others bumbled or explored or spent time talking, she waited there, standing near the front. She had few possessions - a single rucksack filled with clothes and the last of her rations, A Modest Death retracted against her back, and her scroll, now retracted.
A few people she'd heard and seen reacting badly to her smell... admittedly, she hadn't had a chance to wash in nearly two weeks, and she was exhausted. Her eyes drooped slightly, her head ached, and she felt like throwing up. The auditorium smelled far too clean and sterile, too, which didn't help.
... Walking was still the best option, otherwise father wouldn't have told me to do it. The people here just don't appreciate it, probably been spoon-fed their entire lives. Obviously hated by their parents, no discipline. I'll wipe the floor with them all! I... I will...
Her eyes felt so heavy, her breathing slowed... but she just gritted her teeth, gulped, and bared it. She was not going to be beaten by sleep now!

Medus let out a low whistle as he walked into the amphitheater. "Well now, isn't this something?" He asked himself rhetorically. Then he took a moment to oogle the professor standing on stage. It's official, I already like this school. Shame I was too distracted to join in on that whole thing with the Nevermores, so damn lame. Well, might as well get a good spot

-dramatic music ensues-She looked at him, eyes drooping, and gave a somewhat weak, trembling smirk.
"Thank... thank you. Um..." she gestured to the arm, "I think you might want to get that looked at."
And with that, she turned back to the stage, trying to stay awake, seemingly locked into a state of desperate anxiety.
Work now

Pius, a little annoyed and surprised that Jack would just walk away from him like, quietly made his way to the Auditorium. With no one there that he really knew he could socialize with, Pius leaned against the wall and waited for Headmaster Ozpin's speech to begin. Dies Irae sat on the floor while Pius occupied himself by twirling around the pencil in his right hand again.

Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...Belle stepped into the amphitheater anxious and raring to go. Ever since she was kid this is what she wanted. To be in Beacon! To be a huntress that would protect people from the Grimm. She had no doubts that her prowess with both Gemini and what her father taught her would carry her all the way to graduation.
She wasn't to sure about these others, especially that Gaston fellow. He sure made a scene a while ago. Over what? Nothing at all important, typical noble.
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850Urujauni tried to ignore Jack's words. She would be fine, she was sure! No different from all the training sessions back home, after all.
Only a weakling needed more than 4 or 5 hours sleep a day, right?
She sneered a little, as she looked up at the blonde teacher... Glynda Goodwitch, father had said. One of the best.
She doesn't look so impressive... though, heh, I suppose the same is true of myself, in a way.
She turned for a moment, seeing as new people continued to pour in. She got a few odd looks and averted glances, as people began to form distinct little groups. It felt very odd - to feel so alone in mind and heart, yet to be surrounded by people.
I kind of wish I was back in the wilderness, after all that...

Belle looked over at Ura Jauni, then around herself. Cliques were forming already. Uh-oh, that's not good, she didn't want to be an outcast. That certainly wouldn't help her at all. She needed someone to help her stay aloft in this school social structure. That tribal girl seemed perfect.
Walking up to Urajauni, she raised her voice, not enough to make a scene, but enough that the girl couldn't ignore her.
"What are you doing? If you just stand there acting like an outsider you'll be treated like one. Guess it can't be helped. I'll have to be your friend, my name is Belle Babineaux."
She outstretched a hand to her.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850Urujauni turned to the newcomer... finally, someone about her own height, a nice change from all the freakishly tall giants.
She frowned at the girl's hand, squinting slightly. Why would she have to be my friend? The objective is to become the greatest Huntress, so why would you want to waste your time making friends here, people you'll never see again except as possible obstacles?
This all seemed very strange, not at all like father had said... but then, maybe the people of Vale were just odd like that.
She slowly reached out and took her hand. Unfortunately, Urujauni's stress and lack of cleanliness on her journey meant her hand was quite clammy and sweaty, unpleasantly so.
"Urujauni Ukungu, that's my name. A... pleasure, to meet you, Belle Babineaux."

"Urujauni Ukungu?" Pius stopped twirling his pencil, placed it back on its perch that was his right ear, and approached the two girls. His left hand had picked up Dies Irae once more, appearing to all present as if he were a young businessman.
"What is someone like you doing so far from home?" He inquired. "And with said home in such a, um, tenuous state?" He cleared his throat, remembering that he had not introduced himself formally.
"Apologies. My name is Pius Ashen-Nobel." He opened up his right hand once more, silently asking for a proper handshake. "The Nobels are the owners of the Gold Dust Company, largest subsidiary to Schnee Dust. I'm pretty sure we have some mines working over there at Atlas." His face added a small upward curve to the edge of his mouth, as if he were trying to smile politely.

Gaston, now fully recovered (not to mention extremely pissed), grumbled furiously as bumped and bashed his way through the crowd.
How dare that animal attack him! Him, the scion of the Noble House of Scarlett! As he walked on in his blind rage, he did not notice the blind boy right in front of him.
Who he promptly crashed into.
"Damn you! What do you think you're doing?!"
