Just finished reading it this morning. Excellent book. Basic premise is that circumstances lead to a masterless female golem and a hobbled djinni showing up in early 20th century New York and becoming friends as they navigate this strange world of humanity. It's more complicated than that, of course, with subplots about kabbalistic rituals, social change, and the nature of free will. I was actually kind of surprised that there wasn't already a trope page for it, but I may try to put one together tonight when I get home from work.
Anyone else read it?
