If all your vampires are in one place, and not a whole lot of other people are around, I suggest using Hyrdogen Bombs. A H-Bomb explosion is very similar to tossing a very small fragment of the sun at the Earth.

how about using a silver blade with an electriclal current run through it, powered by collected solar energy put into a physically small battery, with a high capacity! it may seem farfetched, but it just might work. plus electrical burns are gonna leave a mark.

Clerics could go for a technological upgrade. The world's religions could form a multi-faith collective then join their congregations across the world via the Internet, radio and TV into one enormous ceremony that turns the entire planet into consecrated ground!

That might annoy any corporate necromancers who are using the undead to generate unlimited clean electricity though...

Make the earth have a cross shape.

You are welcome.

Thats a fair point; one we start talking air guns, then you can effectively fire just about anything. Aiming is, of course, another matter...

May I just say that I love this discussion?

I always thought this worked well.

In all seriousness I remember reading about a underwater rifle that fired wooden darts, a more advanced crossbow in a sense. As a land weapon it had an accurate range of about a hundred yards. That could work.
