So what's the city like? Is it heavily urban, or is it more traditional? What sensibility are the buildings designed with, modern, post-modern, gothic or something else? How big is the city, and where would be the optimal places to have a fight where no one would notice?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialAlright, lets worldbuild the city.
Hmmm so far I have in mind an old historical district in the North of the city. There lies the Cathedral where the Servant summoned as the Overseer rests and guards the Holy Grail. The buildings there are probably quite short and of an old aesthetic. The city then grew towards the south, where the more modern buildings and designs can be found. There is a river flowing that comes from the North before cutting the city in half in a turn to towards the West. You could consider the city to be roughly as big as Fuyuki. The outskirts of the city are a good place to fight, being near empty fields as well as some woodlands nearby. There are probably a big construction lot or two around as well. Most of the city goes to sleep at around 9 or 10 PM, so by the time most of the place is a ghost town, except for a couple districts that see movement even late at night.
Such locations could be important in terms of planning.
What about wharfs, docks, islands, or anything like that? What's the terrain outside of the city like? Fuyuki was a city by the bay, but since this is Germany I doubt we'll be seeing much of that. What's the major metropolitan area like? Is it moderately urbanized, or very urbanized compared to the rest of the city?
EDIT: A city like this would be really cool, actually. It's even got a river running through it

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThere are several hostels, many houses which rent rooms to tourists, only a dozen or so hotels of different sizes and two big chain hotels in town. There are... hmmm dunno what the standard would be, but very few motels in town for the size.
No islands, wharfs, docks or anything like that, no ocean or sea around for them. Closest thing to it is a big lake to the North of the city from which the river comes and some ponds around. I like that bamberg picture for the aesthetics of the city, so we'll be using that tentatively.
The biggest influx into the city comes from their train station which is moderately big for a city their size. It reaches to the heart of the new metropolitan area of the city and from there is where the modernization into town spreads. There is a smaller town station on the other edge of town, near the historic center where a single train passes only very rarely. The terrain around the city is mostly plains and some woodlands, though there are higher elevations and some hills to the East.
^ This too is mostly what I had in mind.

So if Bamberg's the majority of the city, then I suppose the metro looks something like this?

Beyond the river and lake, any other water sources?
And, question for everyone, in what order were the Servants summoned? Any summoned before the War so they already have some territory staked out or are they only newly summoned within the time the Grail War officially began?
/人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ Will you make a contract with me?Hmmm no, just the river, lake and ponds. There may be a few wells, but that's the majority of the water sources.
As for the summoning... lets say that the ritual has been up for about a month and a half. However, Serapeum has made it so that before the time of the War's start, the vessels containing the Servants are restricted to an extremely small level of power. Before the inauguration (The first post of the RP) all Servants can only remain in Spirit mode or if they manifest, they are about as strong as a normal human and without any of their skills or N Ps. Furthermore, the Cathedral where the Grail is stored has been protected by a barrier whose strength suggest that a Servant level entity is the one behind it. Nobody has been able to peer or go inside.
Additionally, Serapeum has been extremely careful about this affair. Besides long range communication via magical means or letters, they have been careful not to show themselves. The precious few that have been able to speak with its members have seen them in form concealing black robes and wearing featureless white mask with magic to distort their voice and hide their identity.
Alright, some few more rules I'm making up for the RP. Master Vision which allows you to get information about the stats of the enemy will work on a slower basis than on other games. Each round the Master is directly looking at an enemy Servant they will get information of one stat picked at random. If the Master is watching carefully through familiar, then it will be one stat per 2 rounds, defining here a round as one post from everyone involved in the affair... and taking about 3 minutes of concentrated study to get them all.

Under combat circumstances, no. Here, yes. Plus, this was (more or less) discussed beforehand.
