Nah, it just wouldn't work in a freeform rp where presumably the setting invokes multiple forms of magic sources and infinite, and as such arbitrary limitations just bog what little rp there is to begin with.
And hmmmmm. We going with usual fantasy species, or something originals?

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Maybe have it so that different regions are at different relative levels of advancement? So you have one isolated place in the middle ages, another that is high fantasy, etc.
That might be too confusing, though.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Age of discovery is "Lo L we now have these ships that can sail the seas, we dont know what the fuck is out there, lets go find out"
When I couldn't sleep last night. I thought of several question.
- 1.) Time period?
- 2.) Are we going first loa character idea? If so then are we going to update the characters?
- 3.) How are we going handle magic? The level of tech? Also are stealing form round 2, if so what are we stealing?
1) I think somewhere between the end-of-an-age going on with the first iteration, and the age-of-exploration thing going on might be helpful. Like, for example...um...the first two Legend Of Zelda-s or One Piece. Both franchises had big important things going on and major events happening, but their heroes still took time to actually get a proper look around the world while they were doing it.
Mostly saying this because from what I observed, just as general critique, the first game had a generally good sense of urgency but lacked proper player agency, while the second game had completely full agency for the players but a lack of urgency to do things or explore particulars. I dunno. Might be talking out of my ass here.
2) Well, considering last I heard we're changing up the setting, it'd be kind of necessary to update those characters to fit the setting anyways. I know I'm planning on doing it if we're to do it like that.
3) I have no idea on that one. The most I ever had to contribute was some minor bestiary/races ideas that I sent to Shiny and haven't gotten around to completely finishing yet. I think it would be better if someone else were to decide on the fundamentals of technology/magic in this setting.

Guys why don't we just copy the D&D spell system? >_>
