...do we know it chose Hunter?
I mean, that's not really clear now that I think about it.
One Strip! One Strip! He was struck by lightning when the particle accelerator went wild, thus gaining superspeed, in a clear parallel to how Barry got his powers. So to whatever extent the lightning chose Barry, it presumably chose Hunter as well (though the whole idea that it's deliberately chosen anyone could, of course, be poppycock).
Well, we all knew the Speed Force was kinda an asshole.
Now we know it's stupid too.
One Strip! One Strip!Hunter Zolomon wasn't struck by lightning, he was electrocuted in an electric chair when the particle accelerator exploded. That's why he got speed powers.
In fact, most of the speedsters on this show got their speed powers by accident. It seems as if Barry was the only one that the Speed Force actually chose.
I still prefer the original post-Crisis explanation for Barry's origin: when he "died" in the Crisis, he actually ran so fast that his body transformed into energy and then went back in time and became the lightning bolt that struck him and gave him powers, thus making the whole thing a closed time loop.
Ramsey ain't don't yet.
He's just taking a break. He's scary enough on his own. There ain't enough room for him and Crisis.
But damn. This was some episode huh?
One Strip! One Strip! It'd be funny if Ramsey broke out immediately after the Crisis and resumed Big Bad duties.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does....Is it wrong that when Barry is performing his sacrifice that I want them to play Flash Gordon's theme again?
I know it'd be tonally wrong for such a moment, but damn, I just want to hear that again.

we are getting a female version of the 2nd mirror master. eva mcculloch
also why they hell do they still keep the particle accelerator up and ready for literally every big bad to use. why do they need that, like if barry needs the room to run to go to the past/future or alternate earths sure but does it need to be powered because its just villain bait at this point
And yeah, eight episodes was just the right amount of time for the villain. I wish they had done the same thing last season — broken up the season, have Cicada defeated by the 100th episode and then the next episode introduce the new villain until Cicada II shows up or something. This season, Bloodwork was able to make a few scary appearances, introduce his master plan, have his big two-part episode, and then be defeated without any last minute escapes. He served his purpose and didn't stick around afterwards, which is good.
Of course, he could return later on in the season, perhaps partnering with the next villain. The actor is good, so I wouldn't mind that, but they need something new, rather than rehashing the same storyline.
It looks like Allegra is sticking around and I wonder if Chester will, too. It seems like they may be introducing more secondary character, perhaps if/when Wally takes over.
And I've stated this before, but it would be pretty cool if, next season, Barry and Wally exchanged episodes — like, we had one episode with Wally as the Flash in Keystone City and the one episode with Barry as the Flash in Central City. That way, the actors could have more time off to film whatever crossover there was and it wouldn't be noticeable, and various characters would get more character development.
Kamilla also had a character moment in this episode!

So, what are the chances this new Particle Accelerator explosion will give a whole bunch more people superpowers, thus giving us a slew of new metas for the next plot?
Man, one of the downsides to killing off the big bads of the seasons/plots is that you don't get those fun "post defeat" moments. That final line from Ramsey was great - pure supervillain. Can't wait to see him again.
And the nature of his powers (fear zombies!) makes me hope they do Green Lantern and Sinestro one day. Can you imagine Ramsey in the Sinestro Corps?
My suspicion that they'll eventually assimilate Caitlin into Frost's personality continues to grow.

I don't think we'll be seeing Wally. isn't his actor still essentially done with the show?
One Strip! One Strip!

It would be nice if the Speed Force learned something from this fuckup, but it won't.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
