Who knows? Either way, this may give us an idea of what the unknown threat Hourman is trying to warn the team of.
Yep. This might be the Arrowverse equivalent of Days of Futures Past. As long as they don't make a morally ambiguous villain into a Mary Sue hero . . . oh god Captain Cold is going to be a hero in this universe is he?

Unless Arrow ignores the Flash.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
(5) I would honestly crack up if this somehow reverts Team Arrow back to Season 2 for an episode or however long it takes for Barry to fix things - Barry wakes up, goes to Star Labs, good!Wells is still alive, parents alive, no sign of the rogu....
...oh snap. That's how Cold is coming back to Flash.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yeah, that is ironic. Then again, considering how dark the DCEU is I guess you could say they just move all the things that made the New 52 into their live action works.
If so, they probably need to stop. Especially in the Arrowverse, that universe was never meant to be dark.
ok but I can be slightly more ok with this if it means that Tom Cavanaugh will be playing Real e1 Harrison Wells, the kind and cheesy dork instead of Murder Mc Body Snatch and Mr. Never-Says Thanks
also if it means Eddie and Ronnie are still alive.
Also if Cisco can find him again bc the universe wants them to be bros ~cough boyfriends cough~
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersI'd be genuinely surprised if everyone wasn't Flash'd back into existence. Its actually a brilliant move for bringing back OG Firestorm, resetting villains like Trickster, explaining Supergirl's inevitable appearance, creating the Black Flash, shipping Iris and Barry, restarting Patty and Barry should that fail, and tying all these things together for a fresh start next season.
Only downsides are that Wally didn't get his powers though the circumstances we witnessed this season, Jesse won't be around to become Jesse Quick, and I'm still not sure what this means for Legends of Tomorrow, if anything, or for Arrow, since Oliver never met Barry after the latter got his powers, thus Barry didn't save Team Arrow, thus Barry didn't save Oliver and Roy from Boomerang, so on.
Might not affect Arrow or Legends at all. Might be fixed in a single two-part season premiere. I hope that's not the case and this actually sticks.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
The best case scenario for me would be that this universe, by the start of season 3, will have Wally and Jesse donning the Kid Flash and Jesse Quick identity (cause let's face it, that would make their story pointless). Only Captain Cold retcon back into existence and running the Rogue as this mega criminal empire. Gorilla City existing, and Grodd being a fugitive of said city. Appearances of Mirror Master and Abra Kadabra (the former being a starter villain of the season). Justice League of Detroit, since Vibe, Vixen and (sooner or later) Martian Manhunter exists in this universe. Also appearance of Elongated Man. . . . I'm just spitballing ideas for season 3 am I?
Resets like that rarely work for TV. Look at Dallas.
Tbh if they wanted to do Flashpoint, they should've done it last season.
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92Okay, I'm pissed at Barry for being stupid, yet it makes sense in context, blah blah blah. But here's what I find interesting: Last season, everyone was wondering why Future!Barry (the one who fought Thawne) warned Present!Barry off of saving Nora. Maybe because he went through Flashpoint and had to go back in time to set it wrong again.
But yeah, if they were doing Flashpoint, they should have done it last season. Oh, or you know what? Maybe the others could have realized what Barry was trying to do (it does take a bit of time to get the particle accelerator set up, even for a speedster), and Wally gets his speed and ends up following him back in time to stop him. That would have made a very interesting character dynamic for season 3 moving forward.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. So what changes this time?
Oliver has a goatee?
Laurel is now Dinah?
Wally West is now an inexplicably white member of an otherwise black family?
Jesse is a member of the Justice Society?
Vandal Savage is alive again for Legends season 2?
DOCTOR MANHATTAN WAS BEHIND IT ALL ALONG?!
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.I'm hoping this is what leads to Future Barry telling Season 1 Barry not to dick around and change the past, but I don't have enough faith in the writers to do that.
One Strip! One Strip!

On the whole Barry instigating The Flashpoint timeline, yeah it's not a smart move but I can see where he is coming from for doing this. After the Speed Force episode it is revealed that he didn't truly accept his mother's death. So with his dad killed off and learning the real Jay Garrick is his father's Earth 3 counterpart that he is unable to relate and talk to, Barry is vulnerable and can't think properly with this surge of emotional devestation. So the best course for him is to save his mom for real.
Either way, there is a good chance that Captain Cold may come back with this retcon.
